🌑Madara is going to feel quite smug about it once he figured out what the hell is going on with his s/o. Emotionally he has a lot of sharp edges but he is a skilled observer. The way you stare at every toddler you find in the Uchiha compound or your almost jealous and upset reaction when you hear news of someone being pregnant don’t just fly above his head. He needs a heir as the head of the Uchiha and if his s/o is in any position to be able to give birth to a baby, there is this pressure from the side of the eldest. It isn’t only for traditional reasons to have a heir that Madara finds himself rather satisfied with your new passion of wanting a baby.

🌑He sees it as a good way of tying his darling completely down to his side by having them bear his child. At the same time there’s this undeniable swell of pride in his chest upon thinking that he can raise his own children and teach them everything he knows together with you. He’ll end up teasing you relentlessly for it with a slick grin on his face by saying that you’d only have to ask him if you really want a baby. You both know that he’s dead serious when he tells you that. It might not be something you’d expect but he actually ends up preparing quite a lot beforehand. Once he knows his s/o wants a kid, he won’t take long to fulfill them their wish.

Hashirama Senju

🌳Hashirama is ecstatic upon discovering that you yearn for children as much as he does. His whole clan problems with the elders demanding a heir as well, he is a family guy. A genuine wish to start a family with you, a fantasy he’s entertained quite a lot. He’d never force you to but he’d really die to have a lovely child with you which is why he becomes absolutely giddy when you actually do want a baby. Hashi expresses his joy very openly, ends up babbling about it in front of his younger brother. Suddenly he’s brainstorming possible names and even more fantasies of a family with you during his work.

🌳In short, he gets infected with your baby fever to the point where it takes up a lot of his mind. You two suddenly talk together about how your own kid might be whenever you two see parents with their children and suddenly find yourselves more often in front of shops that sell baby clothes, pointing out how cute certain outfits look. Hashirama’s clan hears the news and is satisfied as well since all expect to receive news of darling’s pregnancy soon, especially looking on how Hashirama has already started to buy stuff out of his inability to contain his excitement. He wants to give his baby a happy life in the village he built.

Tobirama Senju

🌊Whilst family is important to him, Tobirama’s never feels a need to have a family of his own with his darling anytime soon. He feels uncertain how to feel when he notices the excessive signs of his s/o wishing for a child of their own. Maybe it is just a phrase which is why he decides to ignore it for now. Even if his brother is bothering him with it and his clan shows an interest as well. It isn’t until you talk to him that he can’t ignore it any longer and decides to sit down with you. His uncertainty about having a child aside, he wants to make sure for now how genuine you are and how much you gave the idea thought. Raising a baby is a big responsibility after all.

🌊He’s incredibly flustered if you should be as direct as to say that you want a baby with him, genuinely. It is a sign for him that you sincerely love him since you would be pregnant with his child and raise it together with him. He gives it some serious thought though, weighting all pros and cons since he wants to be really sure about this decision. He ignore his brother’s prominent wishes to have a nephew. Tobirama isn’t opposed to the idea of having a child so once you two have talked everything over, he’d be willing to try. He’s cautious and careful though so he as well puts a lot of importance into preparations.

Tsunade Senju

🐌She’d make without a doubt a great mum and it isn’t like the thought of raising a baby with her s/o has never crossed her mind. Tsunade as a medic knows better than many of all illnesses and the toll a pregnancy can take on someone. She’s also a bit paranoid, fears for the little life whenever the thought crosses her mind. The lady seems to suspect your problem soon and there is a simultaneous feeling of giddy anticipation and frightful worry inside of her. There is nevertheless a feeling of joy when you admit that you’ve been wanting a child desperately since a while. Tsuna would be fine with adopting a baby as well, there are a lot of orphans out there after all.

🐌Creating a baby via artificial ways isn’t a problem either. If her darling can bear a child she might even invent a way for both of them to be biological parents of the fetus, if that hasn’t been done in her time yet that is. The Hokage still wants to have a small discussion with you about the topic of children since she as well knows how big of a responsibility a little baby is. If that all has been cleared, she starts preparing everything for the surgery, sticks her nose into books to collect every little information and appears oddly giddy and nervous during the days before the test-tube fertilization.

Minato Namikaze

⚡️The Fourth Hokage is not opposed at all to the idea of starting a family with his darling when the time is right. Truth be told, he adores the idea of raising a child or two together with you quite a lot. Obviously he’d never force his s/o into being pregnant with his baby but they probably do know that he is a small family man. As shrewd as he is, it won’t take exactly long for him to figure out the reason why you’ve been so oddly upset since a while ago. Stopping sometimes at baby stores to gaze at everything inside or watching with envy when seeing parents with their kids.

⚡️Kushina might have hinted your wishes at him at one point just as much since she’s equally close to both of you. He’s happy as soon as he knows, waits for you to talk with him though and in the meantime he’ll probably just tease you a bit about your sudden want for a child. When you do tell him, he has a jovial and gentle smile on his face, tells you that he would be really happy to have a child with you after enough preparation and planning. Minato keeps his excitement at least at bay but as soon as Kushina hears that his s/o and him plan to have a baby soon, she is thrown into a baby fever as well, thrilled about being an aunt for the baby.

Obito Uchiha

🔥Obito finds himself somewhat torn apart when his darling tells him the reason why they’ve been so upset since a longer while now. Something that has been worrying him quite much which is why he probably forced them to tell him the answer. On the one hand he just would like to die out of happiness on the spot. It’s probably been a old fantasy of his to start with the love of his life a family at one point in his life. Back then that person used to be Rin and now it is you. On the other hand, despite his delusions, he is aware that the life he is living is not something he’d want a child to life in. What if he isn’t a good father?

🔥His expression with his wide eyes demonstrates his feelings perfectly and instead of saying anything, he just embraces his darling. He does not know how to react otherwise so he just clutches onto his s/o tightly with his confused emotions. The following days he is constantly dreaming of a cute and perfect child running around in the house before he snaps out of his daydreams and feels the dread and paranoia returning once again. It’s a little bit like a push and pull game but it is highly likely that his s/o can convince him if they really want to.

Itachi Uchiha

🍡He avoids getting lost in any fantasies of having a family and loving a domestic life with his partner simply because he feels like it isn’t possible. It’s true that he cannot completely suppress his thoughts about it all the time, especially once you enter his life. It’s a logical decision in the end though. There are too much uncertainties and even insecurities regarding that topic. How could he ever raise a child a normal way if he is the one who murdered his entire clan and is a wanted criminal? He could die any day, has to leave for his missions in the Akatsuki and would have to restrict the freedom of the child as much as yours for safety.

🍡He notes with concern your sudden baby fever but decides to ignore it in hopes of it only being a phase that will end eventually. Itachi feels maybe honored when you eventually talk to him about your wish since you want a baby from him and raise it with him. He rejects your wish though and tries to reason with you why exactly this wouldn’t be a good idea. It isn’t like he doesn’t wish for a future like you envision it but you have to think logically about it as well like he does. Itachi will probably end up disappointing and saddening his s/o and honestly, the same applies to him but he just keeps on telling himself that it’s the best.

Neji Hyuga

🕊Undeniably Neji dreams of having a child with his s/o, born out of love for each other and a proof of your bond, after marriage that is. He usually keeps himself composed and doesn’t count as a person who’d ever force himself on you yet sometimes it just happens. Moments where he starts whispering to you in a fond voice about his dreams of having a child with you and protect and love both of you until his heart stops beating. The mere thought has him sometimes just melting, there is little doubt that he suffers from his own baby fever. Sometimes more and sometimes less obvious.

🕊When his darling suddenly starts having the strong wish to have a baby, his heart is fluttering in his chest and he plans to talk with you about it as soon as possible. There is little denial that you and him will start dreaming about a family now and when you two are alone you often end up talking about the future with a baby. Neji is quite fierce about arranging certain things already, especially the fact that he does not want his baby to be marked with the same seal he was as a baby. He also seems to turn already slightly more protective, desires to be with you more.

Naruto Uzumaki

🍜It’s definitely one of Naruto’s bigger dreams to eventually have a family with you and have children. His own childhood was a lonely and rejected one, he was an orphan after all. He has met his parents though and knows how much they love him and he wants to give the same love to his own children and give them a happy childhood. The Uzumaki is vocal about his wishes as well, he’s mentioned it already that he’d love to have a child or two with his darling. He’s probably somewhat slower to figure out all the signs but when he finds out, he’s breaking out in a big smile.

🍜Everyone he counts as a friend gets their ears talked off by him because he absolutely can not hold his excitement in. Naruto is just so incredibly giddy now that he is aware that the wish for a baby is mutual. Every parents he sees, he envisions himself and his darling with their adorable child even more and his s/o falls victim to his excited rambles too. He makes plans about what he wants to do with his child together and already begs Sakura and Tsunade to be the ones to look out after you and the baby once you two are officially awaiting a child. He’s already dubbed Sakura as an aunt for his baby and Sasuke as an uncle.

Sasuke Uchiha

💙He’s probably the one guy in here who wants a family but keeps for the most part quiet about it. He’s the last one from his clan and most likely too prideful to let his clan vanish together with him. It’s also a rather efficient method to tie his darling a bit better down and give them a reminder to why they can’t leave him. He’s ready to push his s/o into having at least one child with him, still too caught up in the past to completely let his clan be forgotten and eliminated just like that. Sasuke has grown fond of the idea of being the provider of his family with his darling as the attentive parent of the child.

💙He has the same vibe going on as Madara when he is being informed about your recent desires to have a child of your own. Safe to say Sasuke will never let you forget about it, especially if you used to dislike him at one point yet now want a baby which only he can give you. It wouldn’t be very clever to try it with someone else after all, Sasuke would either nearly kill them or really kill them. There is a warm sensation in his heart though if you want the child to be his since it means that you at least love him enough to be willing to have his baby. He starts searching for a place where you two can stay once you are awaiting his child already.

I think ZoroxNami is a classic couple troupe that pretty popular when Eichiro Oda started One Piece series (1997)

Unfortunately I don't think Oda will follow that far.

He stated early he won't make Nami fall for any of the crew. I'll hold on to that words.

However it's clear as a day that Zoro and Nami is such a good potential and Oda often throws nods to that cliche such as :

And let's talk about that Arlong park pool scene.

it's the only one instance when Zoro put his life on the line-devoid of his power-for people other than luffy.

tbh love him love his revolution but imo he went about it all wrong. like i looove killing the kages that’d be so good but then uniting the shinobi world under him as the 1 ruler? he shouldve gone for an actual wide-scale revolution based on the strength of clans marginalized and oppressed by the villages. what i mean is like he shouldve gone to oto and ame and all the littler villages and united them and then he and neji should’ve linked up and gotten the branch clan behind the revolution and staged a coup, and then he should’ve focused on getting civilians who keep getting dragged into shinobi conflicts and losing everything in their wars, and restructuring the current world system away from war-as-profit to focusing on civilians and producing goods. he shouldve executed all daimyos and kages too, tho LOL. i know he came up with the revolution idea on the spot pretty much so i cant blame him for it not being a long-term or well thought out plan but like this is what the revolution shouldve been focused on imo instead of the biju and sasuke as hokage..

I saw a teddit post stating that sakura is a chad and mikasa is a virgin (which is probably true). Say what ye want about Mikasa but I cant sit hear and listen to ppl say that sakura is better than mikasa.

Mikasa had a hard life and a sad backstory which caused her to cling to eren due to him saving her and inspiring her to fight. Erens family brought her in and gave her a roof on her head. They were like family. Which is why mikasa strived to protect him and was litteraly obsessed with him. He was litteraly all she had left and even her mother asked her to look after him. I can see how this could be seen as annoying but it’s understandable when you think of it. Btw mikasa isnt a basic anime girl that hits the male characters for shits and giggles.

Sakura on the other hand, has never lost anyone truly close to her, she had a mum and dad throughout the series (this isn’t a bad thing but personally I love characters with hardships in life and sad backstories make me sympathize with them). Sakura was a shy kid who got picked on but because of ino she became confident in herself, which is kinda relatable. However what really ruins her character is how stupid her obsession for sasuke is. Mikasa loved eren due to him being litteraly her family and she owes him a lot, sakura likes sasuke because hes handsome and talented, its incredibly shallow and ruins her character. She was about to leave her loving parents for him despite them having little interaction throughout the series. Sakura has friends and family so why does she go so far for 1 person who at the time didn’t speak to her that often. Sakura didn’t even know about sasuke sad past, which makes no sense since she loved him so much, even sone random kids in the academy class knew about the uchiha massacre. Sakura gets stronger in the timeskip, which is goo for her character but after the sasori fight she doesn’t get too many badass moments that aren’t being overshadowed by naruto and sasuke, while mikasa gets plenty bad ass moments in the series and there’s no debate that mikasa is one of the strongest. Ppl still debate if sakura can beat kakashi.

Anyways imo makasa is way better than sakura rn but ima finish the manga completely and see what happens in the end because I hear that the ending ruined her character so idk. Im on chapter 125 rn.

I mean I never expected them to end up with each other officially because it’s both Japan and on top of that SJ, a conservative country and a conservative industry. While American homophobia is often based on religious beliefs, or just “different = wrong”, Japanese homophobia frequently stems from sociocultural pressure to get married and have kids. It’s seen as a way to honor your parents and your ancestors. Choosing a “gay life style” can be seen as selfish and disrespectful to your parents and going against the whole society. While this is not the case for everyone many gay people in Japan get married to the opposite sex and have kids to conform to society’s expectations.

With this in mind, a lot of media is of course influenced by the general mindset and politics, SJ as well. SJ also targets boys. Japanese male fans of shonen don’t like gay any more than the ones in the USA. Hell, a lot of fujoshi don’t want the characters to be actually gay, they only like it in fantasy.

Editors are working together with the mangaka, and they also care a lot about mass appeal, what sells. Did you know Kishimoto talked about a “new perv jutsu” 5 years before reverse harem jutsu appeared in the manga?

So yeah this is the one that was so “controversial” that it took 5 years to get it in... Of course Jiraiya and other cliche perverts in shonen are totally okay even when peeping on women and being creeps, but creating an illusion of a harem of naked men is just too much. Also just like in the West, there are also parents who don’t want material that they see as inappropriative for their kids to read.

A few years ago there was talk about Isayama commenting on one of his friend’s manga that had one gay subplot (as in, it wasn’t a gay manga, but had a gay romance plot line) and Isayama mentioned on his personal blog that he thinks he might like BL. To this his friend responded; “Thank you so much! It seems like I was unintentionally able to invite Isayama-san to the world of BL so I got some strange courage!” Sooo mysteriously said manga got axed right after the BL subplot hmmm I wonder what was the reason 😶  People also said Isayama was being “gross”. Same way when Isayama made a comment about questioning whether Levi likes women at all, it pissed people off, or when Reiner and Ymir made their comments about not liking the opposite sex.

So it also reflects negatively on the authors. People question why do you want to show such degenerate things especially in a neutral or positive light. Like I mentioned earlier I saw even naruto threads discussing about it, saw people calling Naruto a psycho bisexual or that his obsession with Sasuke makes them uncomfortable, or asking why does he have to be so homosexual. At the same time, I saw one comment saying if this was another world maybe Naruto could be the hero, the president and also have his husband as the adjudant. So there are open-minded people too, even if the most loud ones are the homophobic ones, or people who try to avoid the discussion alltogether.

So as you can see there are many reasons. Kishimoto’s own fixation with N.S. is amusing though, aside from his favorite panel being the usuratonkachi one from 698, he wrote the disaster that is Gaiden where Sasuke looks absolutely miserable when asked to draw something for SS, but wrote Boruto movie where Sasuke looks actually happy with Naruto and Boruto and also helps fixing the relationship between the two. Naruto even wonders which one does Boruto resemble more lol. But SJ wants to milk the series with the next gen sooo this is what we got.

I agree with Kishimoto never trying to use the girls. The hate they get is not fair. I used to defend Sakura back in the days because I hoped kishi would do her justice. When shippuden started I WAS SO HAPPY because I thought this was the start of something great for Sakura and the girls but NOOOOO. Every time, Sasuke showed kishi turned her brainless. If you compare Naruto's actions and Sakura's actions to sasuke, you'd see they're completely different. What's up with that weird fake love confession scene 😭? It makes her look like she was manipulating Naru. JEEZ.

Also he literally had badass Tenten and Temari with cool useful abilities and he didn't use them ?! TF ?! Thank god for modern authors who treat their characters with respect :)

The way I see it, Sakura's character development in shippuden was always one step forward, two steps back. She gets this really badass scene (like her fight with Sasori and those cool ass medical skills) but is then regressed back into a pining girl in love every time Sauce is on screen or Kishi just throws her in the background YET AGAIN.

I love Sakura's abilities actually. Her brute strength, intelligence, vast knowledge and skill as a medic nin. But what I dislike about her character is how kishi handled her feelings for Sasuke. Naruto and Sakura's obsession with Sasuke was so???? huh??? it was so damn toxic and i never once understood why both Nardo and Sak were so obsessed with him. They were a team for one year???? I mean its great that they care about him alot but Sauce's feelings were kinda valid. His freakin clan died. Id go batshit crazy against my own village too. BUT BESIDES THAT. Both Nart and Sakura's Sasuke obsession was so annoying. 80% of shippuden was literally Keeping up with the Uchihas or Naruto yelling SASUKEH. BUT what irks me so much is the fandom's double standards with both Naruto and Sakura. "Oh Sakura shouldve gotten over her Sasuke obsession" but then turn around and call Naruto's obsession cute and gush about how he's so in love with him!!

Hot take but the only reason why sasunaru is "the most developed ship with the most chemistry" is because theyre both male characters.

I guarantee you if Naruto was a girl and SHE would be the one to have this unhealthy obsession who was chasing around Sasuke, the fandom would shit on Naruto just as much. And if Sasuke were a girl, Sauce would be sidelined like the rest of the female cast and Naruto would have another male character to have a "brotherly bond" with, because thats the only bond Kishimoto is actually good at developing. Yey for male characters having all the screentime and cool assets <333

And about that confession scene, I get her intentions. I really do. I understand that she did that in order to bring him home and that she cares about him but honey, w-why?? Why lie to him about your feelings?? Supposed he DID believe her, then what? then what kishi???? huh??? Some of her fans point the blame on Sai or whatever but I personally dont see why that scene was at all necessary. Maybe to establish Naruto's feelings for her wasnt all that serious? or his maturity? idk man. That scene was such a clusterfuck.

In the end her development in The Last and in Boruto was immaculate. She had one of the best glow ups in the old gen and ironically enough, her character wasn't butchered in Boruto. She got badass scenes she was cheated from in shippuden. I also love how she's finally getting the spotlight she deserves. Unlike the other konoha 12 :,)))

Okay onto the next female character that Kishi completely wasted. My baby. My light. 🙈 AAAHHH HINATAA.

And with the way he writes their dialogues is so.damn.cringey. Like that one scene in the war arc with Tsunade and Madara

If im being honest. Hinata's character is actually kinda well written. Not well executed. Dear God no. But with the way he set her story, her personality, her chracterization. Her shy personality wasnt out of the blue, it wasnt a cutesy waifu trait. Her abusive upbringing made her that way. Her trauma turned her that way. So yeah, sue her if she looked up to Naruto as an inspiration when everyone else in her family treated her like dust. Shit on her for having Naruto's love light in her dark when her own damn father wouldnt even look her in the eye and her entire clan shunned her because she was "weak." She doesnt owe her family shit so idgaf what they do with the Hyuga clan. Neji and Hanabi aren't included btw

Hnggggg dont get me started with her role in Boruto. She's as relevant as a damn houseplant in the manga. Give us that scene where she won against Hanabi DESPITE being retired for years. Give us that scene where she trains Boruto. GIVE US ANY FIGHT SCENE OF HER WHERE HER POTENTIAL ISNT WASTED WTF?¿

Now if you say that Hinata didnt have development. YOURE INVALID. She came from an abusive household, the shyest girl in her class, her insecurities got in the way of her own confidence, had difficulty of standing up for herself now became a loving mother of two, has the guts to kick her husband out of the house(with whom she couldnt even keep eye contact with when she was a kid) became the strongest hyuga, most supportive wife and mother, and has given her kids the comforting childhood she never had as a kid.

She has one of the most beautiful stories in the show and if you think her personality is only Naruto-kun and big boobs, then im sorry that you cant appreciate such a heartwarming story.

And I agree, killing her would honestly make me feel more at ease than continue to see her suffer because of godawful misogynistic writers. But at least let her die in an epic fight. Please. PLEASEE. She got nerfed so bad, i feel a physical pain every time i think about it

But arguably they are sooo much better handled in Boruto than how the old gen girls were. And thats because Kishi isnt anywhere near the new gen female cast. I cant formulate a solid opinion with the other new gen female cast since im not entirely invested in the anime. Not ashamed to admit that I only watch it for the sunshine moments and for Hinata :DD

a cocoon in the heart, a spark in the brain.

It starts with a glance. An innocent, fleeting look. Naruto’s smile is too bright to look at for more than a handful of seconds and Sasuke’s glare is too dark to find anything of interest, so Sakura glances away, as she always does.

She glances away and there is Lee, dirtied and bloodied but he holds Neji’s hand, Tenten tucked under his arm, and is laughing, tears streaming down his face. He must have felt her eyes because he looks over and sends her a beaming smile. 

And. And her heart picks up, her breath catches. 

She quickly looks over to Naruto and Sasuke, being blinded by the light and dark both, and tries her best to not think of why one look from Lee can breed butterflies and moths in her stomach.

.

They rebuild the village and everyone endures. Sasuke leaves once more because he is a boy who has never known staying, he has never stayed long enough to put roots in, to know how to stay. So, Naruto and Sakura let him go. 

(If she is being honest, Sakura is more than happy to have him leave. Sasuke will always be a rotten fruit in the tangle of her feelings, something that she will never quite understand, something that will haunt her no matter what she does. If he is not there, she does not have to think about it. He’s like a curse, and it hurts her to think that but it is true.)

Kakashi is the Hokage and Sakura is still laughing at him, clutching her stomach and howling at her friend’s “misfortune” as he calls it.

“Mah,” Kakashi half drawls, half pleads. “Must you laugh at your poor ex-sensei?”

Naruto is losing his absolute shit as they clutch each other to stay standing. “Kaka-sensei you do not look good in white.”

“It,” Sakura gasps, wiping tears from her face, “It-It really washes you out!”

Naruto’s knees give out and they both tumble to the ground, a mess and tangle of laughing limbs and leaking eyes. 

Kakashi sighs heavily from his desk but she knows he’s having just as much fun as they are. Kakashi is her best friend, she knows how he is when he’s drunk out of his mind and when he’s trying to bite back laughter. 

The door swings open and Lee steps in with Team Gai flanking him. Neji recovered incredibly well thanks to Sakura’s magic hands (as Naruto has deemed them) and they’ve been taking low ranking missions since he was deemed fit to return to duty. 

It takes a few moments for Sakura and Naruto’s heaving, snorting laughter to subside as Kakashi clears his throat, his eyes crinkling up in the way Sakura knows he’s really trying not to laugh. 

She looks up and glances at Lee, to find him already watching her, his eyes soft and smile softer. Sakura is a God Slayer along with Naruto and Sasuke, she has faced down hundreds of opponents with only her raw fists and come up victorious, she has dragged people back from the brink of death with a tap. 

Sakura does not blush. Out right refuses to. 

“Hey,” All breathless and raw from laughter.

Lee’s smile widens as he steps forward to offer his hand, she takes it without hesitation and thanks the God whose heart she ripped out that he was wearing gloves. She can feel the heat through them nonetheless. Sakura does her best not to shiver as their eyes meet. 

“You guys heading in or out?” Naruto asks after he hauled himself onto his feet, not hiding the way he eyes Lee and Sakura’s hands. The entire room’s eyes are on them. 

“In,” Tenten says slowly, and Sakura does not blush as she carefully extracts her hand from Lees and does not think about why there are fireworks exploding within her mind, why she misses the heat and the way his hand encompasses hers.

She sees him everywhere now. 

At the Rusty Kunai, at the training fields, at lunch, sometimes even in the hospital. And every damn time he smiles at her, she feels like she’s coming back to life and being stabbed in the heart. 

Sakura has no idea if this was love or just lust. What she felt for Sasuke was not love, that was obsession and cruelty. She had crushes on civilian boys but they were too soft, unmarred compared to her countless scars, visible or not. 

Ino stares at her as if she’s the stupidest person in the world and Sakura smacks her for it. She hopes it leaves a bruise. The Bitch. “Stop giving me that look, Pig. I’ll hit you again, don’t tempt me.”

Ino glares as she rubs her arm, sticking out her tongue. “It isn’t my fault you aren’t using that big forehead of yours! You’re telling me that you two drink together, train together, you go to lunch together, he even visits you at the hospital because he knows you haven’t eaten or slept. And then you tell me you get all those stupid fluttery feelings and you don’t know what it means?”

And well. When she puts it like that. . .

Sakura pouts and crosses her arms, “It's confusing!”

“You’re a genius. An actual genius, Sakura.” Ino deadpans. “Your IQ is literally right next to Shikamaru’s. Lee has been in love with you since we were twelve! There is no way you don’t know what this means.”

Groaning, Sakura slumps into Ino’s lap, hiding her face in Ino’s thigh. “When did you become so smart?”

“When I made out with Hinata and then fucked her.” Ino says easily and Sakura laughs. “What? Don’t laugh! It's true!” 

Ino cackles when Sakura pinches her calf.

Lee moves with such elegance that Sakura aches with it. 

This boy made man who had known nothing but sweat and hardship, who still cups things with such tender and care, who moves so fluidly and hits so brutally.  

They are both the earth, solid and unyielding, they are the water, the hills, the mountains. They are unbreakable because they have broken themselves apart, pushed themselves past the very limit to reach where they are.

Sakura and Lee are 20 and they have saved the world. 

Now, they tear apart the training grounds just to keep life interesting. 

With every dodged fist her heart quickens because Lee is smiling and laughing, calling friendly taunts as she grins right back. 

This is nothing like Team 7’s spars, all bloodied teeth and snarling as Sasuke underestimates her again and again and again. Kakashi, Sai, and Yamato know better. Naruto is learning slowly. Sasuke never pays attention enough to know.  

No, sparring with Lee is like dancing, is like thriving, and a fresh breath of air at night as fireworks light up the sky and a butterfly lands on your nose. 

She lands a kick to his ribs and spends him flying back as she advances swiftly, pinning him down with a hand on his chest, knees on either side of his hips. 

A long pause as they try to catch their breathes.

They’re both breathing heavily, Sakura cannot tear her eyes away from him as he reaches a hand to tuck loose hair behind her ear.

“Lee,” She breathes, ignoring the way her face burns and the way butterflies have swarmed her insides, how her heart is raging against her ribcage. “Lee I-”

“Sakura.” Lee says, voice deep and rumbly and cracking. “Sakura, will you go out to lunch with me? Forever. Well, hopefully forever- you are so very Youthful, you are incredibly Strong, you do not need my protection, but Sakura, let me protect you anyways, just as you will me. Sakura-”

She channels her inner Ino and leans down to kiss him, all lips, teeth and tongue. His hands settle on her waist and he flips them without breaking contact and if they weren’t in public, well. . .

Sakura pulls back breathless and wide eyes before forcing the words out, “I’ve known you for years Lee, you’re one of my best friends.” Her hand on his chest can feel the way his breath catches, the way his heart is pounding. “Everytime you look at me I get fireworks in my chest and butterflies in my stomach. They’ve bred and infested my very insides, my brain blooms and rots with the thought of you.” 

He is shaking beneath her, staring at her as if she is Divine and Righteous and she cannot think of anything else she would want except his eyes on her. 

“Lunch?” She breathes, hand at the base of his neck. “I would like to have lunch with you. Forever. If the offer still stands.” 

Lee smiles wide and bright as he stands, pulling Sakura up with him, “The offer will always stand, Sakura. For you, there is very little I would not do.”

She kisses him again and hand in hand they go to lunch.

Facts:

The very first day Lee saw Sakura a cocoon formed within his heart, everytime after that more would form, more would crack.

The butterflies and moths have a home in his heart but only come alive when they see her.

They never die, no matter what he does.

He saw her crack the world open with a first, saw her tear open a God’s chest. He was the first thing she looked at after. He thought he would become alight with it all.

Lee loves Sakura. He always has, he always will. His heart has a butterfly garden full of fireworks just for her.

Her laugh makes his skin prickle, makes his muscles loose. He is addicted to it.

She looks at him like she sees the green of the trees and the blue of the sky. Lee revels in it.

Sakura loves Lee and it nearly breaks him.

He will take her out to lunch until the day they die and well after.

The butterflies and moths and fireworks never go away for either of them. It is the beauty of it all.

🍜Naruto is a worshipper, meaning he holds his darling in a very high position. Doesn’t matter if they’re talented or not in shinobi skills. This guy will find at least a thousand other reasons that he loves and adores on his s/o. I can think of him as someone who appreciates and respects strength and talent when he sees it, but is also someone who wouldn’t want a scratch on you due to his worshipper tendencies.

🍜However, Naruto is still willing to train with you if you ask him too. He’s relatively easy to manipulate due to his delusions that you love him too. But he would never go over the limits with you and might actually go a bit too easy on you. He’s just scared that he might hurt you.

🍜If you should feel ashamed of how bad you are don’t or else Naruto will hold a speech about what he loves on you, how amazing you are, how beautiful you are, etc.

🍜But the fact that you’re so bad in shinobi skills makes him also extremely anxious if you go on missions. He would be naturally more nervous than others about this, but knowing that your talents are in all the other areas makes him even more afraid. So he would absolutely have a talk with either Tsunade or Kakashi, whoever is Hokage at that time, and express his worries and fears, pleading them to not give you anything too dangerous. I can even see him as someone who insists on helping to choose your missions so he can make sure that you come safely home.

Sasuke Uchiha

💙Sasuke is actually a fan of power so he would be most likely surprised and also slightly annoyed and angry when finding himself attracted to a rather weak darling. Worst one to react to this situation. Sasuke is the type to make fun of you for this, how cruel it is depends on his mood. When he’s in a bad mood then it’s honestly just degrading, when he’s in a good mood it’s more like jokingly teasing. On the other hand he likes being in control and with someone that weak he has an easier time with making it even more clear who’s in charge here.

💙Sasuke is someone who would actually train with you without you having to ask. Don’t misunderstood this, though. He just does it because it’s honestly a bit embarrassing for him that you’re that weak. You might have expected it, but this guy won’t go easy on you at all and will push you to the limits and above. Even if you will look like fainting he’ll continue until you really collapse. If in a good mood he might go less rough on you.

💙Sasuke isn’t the best to comfort you when you feel down due to how terrible you are with your skills. More the type to tell you to not cry over such a thing and just train harder if you want to become stronger. If in a good mood he’ll just listen to you without saying anything before giving you some sort of physical comfort.

💙Sasuke wants you to fight due to his belief that with enough training and experience you wil become better with your skills. He expects something from you after all. But he is also someone who would make sure that you don’t face someone you can’t beat. Sasuke is someone who wants you to improve so he doesn’t have to feel too ashamed of you, but he would also make sure that you don’t become too strong or confident to question his authority.

Sakura Haruno

🌸Sakura is probably the best one to handle this situation because she can totally relate to her darling. She herself used to be not very skilled when she was younger.

🌸Sakura would definitely offer you to help you with training, wanting to support you and help you as good as she can. I can see her as someone who would go the slightest bit stricter with you, forcing you to give your best. She sees her younger self in you and knows that hard training can help in making someone stronger. She was trained by Tsunade and will show some similarities whilst training with you. But she would also make sure to always nurse you back to complete health after she’s finished with you, taking care of every scratch or bruise you might have gotten.

🌸Sakura would be a total sweetheart when it comes to comforting you. She’ll cheer you up, gift you flowers and will take you out on small dates to make you feel better. But she can also just sit down and listen if that’s what you currently need the most. And here again, she can totally feel you.

🌸Sakura knows the best that sometimes a hard mission is needed to force you out of your shell so she would be one of the most chill to let you go on missions that might look a bit too hard for you. But she also makes sure that you always have some capable teammates and that the rank of the mission isn’t too high. I think whoever is Hokage at that time, Tsunade or Kakashi, would actually even be fine if Sakura insists on helping with giving you missions. They know that she sees herself in you and wants to help you so you don’t feel as useless as she used too.

Minato Namikaze

⚡️Another total sweetheart. Minato would also be the type to tease you a bit about this. But the huge difference between him and Sasuke is that he never does it when he knows that you might misunderstand it and he also never means it badly. He doesn’t care that much if you’re strong or not, it doesn’t change the fact that he loves you.

⚡️Being a supporting man he would definitely be ready to help you if you ask him too. Minato is similar to Sakura someone who would go a bit harder on you, especially if he knows that you really want to become stronger. He wants to help you achieve that dream and out of respect and love for you he wouldn’t go easy on you. But he also wouldn’t go too hard on you, making sure to stop if he sees that you can’t continue anymore.

⚡️Another one who would know exactly how to make you feel better. There’s a good chance that you might feel even more depressed due to the fact that you’re together with the famous Yellow Flash from Konoha, the Hokage himself. Minato is someone who stays realistic, yet manages to choose his words wisely to not make you feel down and is also sure to emphasize that he loves you for who you are and not for your strength.

⚡️As mentioned, realistic. Missions are a way to help you improve your skills and just like with the training out of respect he wouldn’t give you easy missions. i spent like a solid while looking at academy students to make up a team for her that were legit and ended up with the 'naruto online' avatars. scarlet blaze (hitomi) and midnight blade (kokuyo) are her teammates.

This has been sitting in my ask box for a bit (I’m lazy... sorry!) and wasn’t sure how to answer it. So, first... Thank you for liking my stories! Second... @radita328 reminded me of all the reasons I like Sakura so much and chose her as my lead female character in all my stories. I try not to take anything offensively and have been asked this multiple times since I started writing for this ship. 

This might be a good way to explain it... And if I get questions like this again (which I undoubtedly will), it’s already been thoroughly answered. 

Sakura was quite insecure as a child, and the other brats often bullied her. For a while, she silently endured it and tried to ignore the comments on her appearance. It wasn’t until her friendship with Ino and crush on Sasuke that she really started to bloom and find her confidence. Sometimes we need an outside source to see ourselves in a different light or find what’s inside. I’ve debated whether it’s okay for a person to try improving for themselves or someone else. To me, it doesn’t matter. The results and finding that inner-strength is important. Sometimes it takes an outside influence or another perspective to bring out the best version of a person, and that’s the case with Sakura and myself. Those with a self-deprecating mindset rarely see what others do. 

Sakura’s infatuation with Sasuke temporarily ruined her relationship with Ino (we all make mistakes) and she became obsessed with perfecting her appearance based on rumors of what girls think he likes. Extreme dieting (even at the expense of her training), growing her hair out, fussing with everything. This is something many do in hopes of attracting their crush, especially teenage girls. During the Chunin Exams, she realized that spending so much time on her looks instead of training was a waste The boy she wanted to impress couldn’t care less about it and she put her teammates in danger by not focusing on what’s important. This arc shows the beginning of her character development. To save Naruto and Sasuke, she used her body as a shield and cut off her ‘beloved’ hair. After being beaten to a pulp, she still refused to give up, knowing it might end in death. 

Later on, Team 7 is split up as her teammates are taken to be trained, leaving her behind. Kakashi took Sasuke and Jiraiya with Naruto. Her own sensei and everyone else walked away, despite being in charge of helping her improve. Sakura took it on herself to go up to one of the Legendary Sannin and most feared woman to ask for training. She spent years studying, being pummeled by Tsunade, and honing her skill-set to the point of eventually surpassing her shishou, which is not an easy feat. The Strength of a Hundred Seal that took her three years of storing up chakra to create is a Jutsu very few are able to complete. 

Sakura went from a small girl that was extremely self-conscious, to a top kunoichi within a few years. People doubted, overlooked, and underestimated her from the beginning, using gender and appearance as an excuse. She smashed through all those barriers (literally). People often despise her for the loyalty she’s shown to Sasuke, who doesn’t deserve it—whatsoever—and blame everything going wrong on her. There are so many instances that plenty of characters (especially in the war) would’ve died without her power, it’s not even funny, yet those facts get tossed aside carelessly. She’s had amazing character development, overcame diversity and bullying, improved herself as a person, and became one of the strongest shinobi through sheer determination. 

As a woman who’s been teased for her appearance and underestimated, I resonate with her the most. Being half-Asian in a predominately white area as a teenager when my family moved came with its own trials and tribulations. Seeing a minority character grow and develop into a strong woman is very inspiring and why I chose her. I don’t blame Sakura for what the male creator of the series decided to do with her after building up so much potential. 

Canonically, Joker and Sakura would probably kill each other, but that’s one of the points that I enjoy. He thinks everyone’s beneath him and has zero empathy, while she has an enormous heart and tries to improve to feel worthy of standing beside her comrades. They’re very different, but their strange appearance, penchant for violence (in various forms), and fanatical drive towards their goals is where they meet halfway. I’m a fan of the whole ‘enemies to lovers’ and ‘bad guy/small woman’ trope. Canon relationships are irrelevant in AU’s and fiction, in general. That’s the entire point of fanfiction, crack pairings and crossovers. 

Harley Quinn makes appearances throughout most of my stories, but we’ve all seen how her relationship with Joker plays out. It revolves around abuse, manipulation, and abandonment. Not that my ship doesn’t at all, I’m just saying... They’re unhealthy relationship goals if that’s what you’re looking for. Personally, I like Harley better with Poison Ivy compared to J. Pam has been a big part of the healing process after Harley had enough of his shit. Saying she fits better includes keeping a woman in a toxic environment where she’s never respected or appreciated and constantly hurt without a single care. 

I like to think that J has a good-eye for talent and would see that Sakura is brimming with it, even if it’s to use her as a weapon. He’s intelligent, cunning, resourceful, with ingenuity in spades. The freedom from the restraints that society puts on everyone that comes with J is very liberating, and I enjoy putting Sakura in that kind of atmosphere where she has no limits holding her back, like the Narutoverse does. Her appearance, race, gender... None of that matters in Gotham where it’s all about survival and playing the game. Him pushing Sakura beyond her limits and rattling the cage is what I’m totally living for.

Thanks for the ask and hopefully my incessant rambling answers this question now and moving forward. I get it often and not really sure why, considering all the crack pairings I’ve seen over the years, especially with Sakura.

As for any other reincarnations, no? Not here, but @owldork1998 and @cassandrasdreamworld and I did talk about two people being reincarnated as Sakura around the same time. In fact there was talk about Charlie being reincarnated as Sakura while Newt Scamander was reincarnated as Inner Sakura.

Being an only child after being one of many is kind of lonely, but there's Ino whose kind of like a sister and who comes as part of a package deal with Shikamaru and Chouji so Kura makes do with pseudo-siblings.

While it wouldn't really matter or be noticed in English, since personal pronouns like don't lean towards a gender, Kura does do that. Kura's personal pronoun is "ore" all around instead of the expected "watashi", it's chosen simply because it's shorter and thus easier to say. This does, however, kind of affect things.

it's been, due to the time spent together at the academy, normalized for Kura's generation - in fact some of the younger girls at the academy start doing the same

ninja, on a whole, really don't care because there could be worse quirks for the kid to have - like peeping in bath houses, or wearing green spandex

clanfolk, even ninja ones, kinda do a double take but are generally just huh, alright then.

older people, even ninja, like the Council are disapproving it's partially about propriety but mostly about this fool kunoichi will endanger the mission if she is ever to go undercover or otherwise infiltrate some place

civilians range from shrugging it off as "ninja weirdness" or being scandalized, Kura's parents (who are in fact civilian in this) are on both sides - father shrugs it off and is even amused, mother is Not Happy

there's also little, awkward side conversations with first Iruka then Kakashi about if Kura is experiencing gender dysphoria and if it were better to use different pronouns or look into having a sex change

Wild hair? Kind of? Less cut though. Kura's hair is long, it is messy and pulled into a ponytail until it eventually grows so long - takes so long to clean in the shower - that Kura just hacks it off with a kunai. So, yep! Wild hair cut! (eventually)

Kura is ambivalient about kunoichi classes; sewings only practical, as is cooking, tea ceramonies and kimono are interesting in a foriegn way, make-up is kind of weird but mostly tedious given he was still around when little Ginny wanted to play with their mum's make-up and demanded he let her make him "pretty" and is now resigned to it, but he's actually good with flowers - entirely Bill's fault who once tried to impress a girl be carefully selecting flowers that were meaningful

Bijuu, yes Kura loves them. Once he finds out that they are actually real - and how are giant chakra monsters more believable then dragons?!? - he's stoked and all NO INO/NARUTO/SASUKE/SENSEI YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND I HAVE TO MEET ONE I WILL LITERALLY DIE IF I DO NOT. Giant summon, he loves them also and yes that's pretty much how it goes - that and a mix of frantically taking down notes because there's no Newt Scamander here to learn and write about the creatures of this world so now it is obviously my solemn duty to do so in his absence

My SNS Imaginary Movie

Instead of a fanfic, I present to you, an entire movie that played in my head one night around 3am that had me laughing my ass off. This is my daydreaming in bed, shonen, SNS movie! Im not trying to write this as a proper fanfic, but only as how the fun happened. Synopsis: Our heroes are losing the fight against an Otsutsuki alien freak. Naruto loses Kurama! Sasuke is blinded! And they are trapped in another dimension. There, they are given the opportunity to embody Yin and Yang and turn the tides of the battle. But being Yin and Yang is more than they've ever imagined! My Imaginary SNS Movie: Sauce and Nardo are fighting a freak of an Otsusuki. The alien ass had ripped kurama out from Naruto. Sasukes in bad shape too. He's lost his right eye and only has his left eye with rinnegan. To make matters worse, their combined attacks weren't having any affect on this Otsutsuki. Hinata (whats she doing there?) used byakugan and sees that Narutos chakra is fading! He's dying! She's cries out to Sasuke that he's drawing his last breath! Sasuke instantly stops fighting the alien freak and runs to Narutos side. His only thought was to take Naruto to another dimension, even if it's a timeless unmoving dimension, anything to stop him from dying! His rinnegan activates, a portal opens, he leaps in with Naruto completely disregarding who ever else is on the battlefield! (sorry hinata) But as they are warping through, the Otsutsuki reaches through and rips out Sasukes left eye! The bastard adds the rinnegan to his personal collection on his arm as the boys disappear in the rinnegan warp. Our heroes are trapped in an unknown dimension. A blind, bleeding Sasuke confirms that Naruto is still breathing. His goal to enter a dimension with a different laws of physics seems to have worked. Somehow in this dimension a jinchiruuki doesn't die when it's separated from its bijuu. Something to do with time? For Sasuke, it feels like unknowable days pass by in the darkness. He's slumped over Naruto, just listening to him breathe. His blood, on Naruto's chest. Naruto finally wakes up. Sasuke snaps out of a daze and apologizes to Naruto. He says he's failed him. Sasuke- It doesn't matter that I've brought us to this timeless dimension, without my rinnegan, this is now our place of eternal rest. But Naruto doesn't seem to mind. He cries out how beautiful this place is. Sasuke had no idea there was even a PLACE to look at. A blue sky, a forest, and a temple. This dimension seemed to be a tiny planet, like in DBZ. Naruto is grateful that Sasuke saved him and he's confident they'll get back home somehow! But first things first, Sasuke needs a new pair of eyes!! It was sometime before Naruto notices the local wildlife. Cute, adorable, innocent harmless creatures......They kinda look like frogs. Hes horrified about what he's about to do!! But...for Sasuke...He kills a frog creature and rips out its eyes and screams as if it was his own eyes he was ripping out. Sasuke is hugged up against a wall and uncharistically freaking out because he has no idea why Naruto is screaming. Sasuke- Naruto? Naruto- Gamabunta forgive me!! Naruto offers him the bloody frog eyes to Sasuke, without telling him the source of the eyes. But neither boy has any idea how shinobis just magically transfer eyes anyways. But Narutos already committed and these frog eyes in his hands aren't any use to him. He assumes that maybe you just shove in the eyeballs while applying lots of chakra. He does so!! Both boys scream!! Sasuke bears through the pain and tries to connect his chakra to his new eyeballs. It works. Sasuke looks around him and notes that all the colors look different. He goes to a pool of water and sees his reflection...... Sasuke- Frog eyes..... He sighs and thanks Naruto anyways. But this doesn't solve their situation. They're still trapped in another dimension and without rinnegan. They explore the temple grounds. The temple door is sealed and flanked by two statues. The temple had a name, the temple of Indrashura and Ashindra. Naruto comments that name sounds familiar, but Sasuke already has a good hunch to what it means. He notes that one statue represents Yin and the other Yang. (dun dun dun!) The boys believe that maybe the old sage of six paths created this temple and if they can figure out how to enter it they can once again have Yin and Yang release. Naruto would be able to heal Sasukes eyes to their natural form. And Sasuke would be able to awaken rinnegan again. They stood by their respective statues, but no amount of poking and prodding the statues would make the temple door open. After trying everything they could think of, the boys exhuast themselves and take a mental break. But time is funny here. Hours feel like days, which feels like weeks, which feels like months. Sasuke spent most of his time meditating for the answer, obsessively!! His single goal was to activate rinnegan. He barely noticed what Naruto was up to. Naruto on the other hand was just trying to LIVE. I mean, he's not the one that needs to awaken rinnegan and what else can he do? He just wanted to enjoy his time here, with Sasuke. But Sasuke was being over there, meditating, far away and distant. It was frustrating! Why can't Sasuke just be here and now? And this tiny unchanging planet, the lack of stimulation was driving Naruto insane! Until one day, Naruto can't take it anymore! He curses the damn blue sky that's always blue, the glowing bright sun that's been in the same position since forever, and this green forest, it would be nice if it was another color for a change! Sasuke realizes Narutos really snapped and tries to calm him down. In doing so, he unknowingly steps on a yin yang seal that they simply hadn't noticed before. Suddenly the cheery sunny sky transforms to night. A full moon shines over a darkened autumn forest. And the fluffy innocent creatures transform into monsters!! The boys were stunned! The monsters come charging at them. Naruto and Sasuke give a each other a quick nod and can't help but smile. Beating up monsters that magically popped out of nowhere together? That sounds like fun! Monster after monster they slaughter! Releasing their pent up frustrations. The monsters just kept coming back, as if it was a game loop. Sasuke was both challenged and exciting to relearn how to fight without sharingan. After what felt like days, they grew tired of battling. Sasuke instructs Naruto to step on the YinYang seal. When he does, the world magically returns to its former sunny setting. At least they learned something about this world. But still the temple doors won't open, and still, Sasuke doesn't have rinnegan. They experience more time passing by and Sasuke became emotionally withdrawn. He felt it's his fault that they're in this strange dimension and could barely look Naruto in the eyes. Sasuke- I'm sorry you're stuck here with me, of all people. Was usually all Sasuke could manage to say. Naruto had enough of his obnoxious sulking! Naruto- Idiot! Don't you understand yet how I feel! I'm grateful you saved my life. I'm happy, that of all the people in this damn Universe to be stuck with, I get to be stuck with you! He slams his hand onto the Yang statue! Naruto- Sasuke..I..! The Yang statue starts to glow. Naruto jumps back startled, and the statue deactivates. Sasuke's eyes widen. Sasuke- Of course! I'm an idiot! He understands now what they need to do and stands by his Yin statue. But Naruto doesn't understand why the statue was activating when all he did was slam his hand on it, like he has done before. Sasuke explains. Previously, when they tried to activate the statues Naruto had his thoughts focused on Yang and Sasuke had his thoughts focused on Yin. Sasuke- Yin and Yang exist within eachother. At the heart of Yin is Yang and at the heart of Yang is Yin...Thats why...we need to think about the other... Naruto smiles widely and nods his head - YOSH. Sasuke tries to hide his smile but really can't. They place their hands on their respective statues. Naruto- For Sasuke... Sasuke- For Naruto... The temple doors open. (And now the movie playing in my head is about to get weird yo!) To be Continued
