jfc I think I’m driving myself insane/pos. I genuinely cannot wait for the turtles to find out about Tommy’s absolutely f’ed up past life and just be like ‘oh what bullshit is this!? >:(‘

Also, I think I have an idea of how you’re going to do the ✨Trauma Reveal✨ and if I’m right I am SO excited!! (I’d be excited either way)

Another thing I’m really excited to potentially see (don’t know if you’ll touch on this exact thing) is how different their world’s morals are!

Rise being a kids show, means that most of the villains are pretty one dimensional and, unless they’re actually important, tend to never really be treated seriously or ever get treated like actual people (unless there’s a redemption arc planned, like Barry).

But with the SMP, because all of the characters are written by individual real people and are treated like people, all of the ‘villains’ are actually just really bad(or good) people with enough questionable motives to earn them the title of ‘Villain’. (Minus JSchlatt and Dream ofc. They’re genuinely just evil)

I can totally imagine Tommy getting stressed or upset about the turtles labeling these characters as ‘villains’, and somewhat frantically trying to explain to them how morally gray people can really get. Because for Tommy, all the villains he’s seen were people he actually knew and could’ve been good friends with. My point is, Rise’s version of a Villain is vastly different from the SMP’s version of a Villain and I find that incredibly interesting, just in case you couldn’t tell ;)

Analogy over, that was way too many words but i started typing and couldn’t stop. Hope the writing is going well! Can’t wait :D

Raahhhh so many people would be added to their 'to punt' list (if only they weren't a universe away, lmao).

I'm gonna be honest, my current plan for how they find out about his past is slightly batshit and entirely evil (in the sense that I will be very mean to Tommy). We draw closer to that fic every day and I'm very excited about that fact.

Yeah, that's deffo one of those things where if it comes up it comes up, but I don't have any particular plans for it. I like to think he'd enjoy hanging out with Hypno and Warren (bullying. He would enjoy bullying Warren), they're rather flamboyant in their crime, I imagine Tommy's theatre kid ass would appreciate that.

But yeah, If I remember correctly, c!Tommy's of the mindset that most people aren't really evil or bad per se, they just make really bad choices sometimes. Like c!Wilbur. I remember c!Tommy once had a chat with Foolish about his stance on the concept of forgiveness and what he thought about Wil's past and current behaviour.

Never worry about using too many words, I happen to be a big fan of those things. Not gonna complain about that, it was very enjoyable to read :D

It was fighting me for a while, but I've finally found an approach that I'm happy with, so things are thankfully starting to go much smoother now o7

Thank you for asking for Fran and Bianchi y'all know I love them 2 death eek! >< I wasn't sure if your ask intended for a reader-insert scenario, a scene with the canon characters interacting, or something else, so I tried to keep it vague so one can insert a self or another character. I giggled like crazy while writing these, so I hope you enjoy!

୨୧ ⁺˳₊ ramsay; after the receiver commits a culinary crime, the sender presses two slices of bread against either side of their face, cupping their face to hold the bread in place, and calls them an idiot sandwich.

♡ Fran is notorious for making and eating weird dishes, and it’s not because he’s French and everyone else is racist—people are beginning to believe that he has pica. Chewing ice and swallowing gum is just the tip of the iceberg. In this case, his culinary crime involved some dishes that he discovered in history books. He had the audacity to bake a water pie and make a toast sandwich 1. out of pure boredom and curiosity, and 2. to fuck with people.

“Fran… what do you mean it’s a ‘water pie’?!” His colleague made air quotes to emphasize the absurdity of the concept, eyebrows raised in disbelief as they looked at the completely deadpan illusionist.

“I’m serious, it’s a dish from the great depression.. you should try it.” He replied flatly, gesturing to the pie as if to say ‘dig in!’.

“You’re messing with me.”

“I’m not.” He shrugged slightly, feigning being a victim. “If you want, you can try the toast sandwich instead.”

“Toast sandwich?!?!?!” They pause.

Fran’s eyes narrow slightly, watching his colleague take a deep breath, as if to control their anger.

“That’s it, Fran—” hands scramble to completely deconstruct the toast sandwich, which was just removing the outside pieces of bread and allowing the middle piece of toasted bread to fall to the floor unceremoniously. The mist assassin feels the dry pieces of whole wheat bread pressed against his cheeks. “You…are a fucking, idiot. sandwich.”

“You…may sample that too, if you’d like.” He blinks once as he stares at them blankly from between the slices, and then gives them the slip, disappearing into thin air.

“AUGHH!!!!”

୨୧ ⁺˳₊ clean; sender affectionately wipes a smudge of sauce from the corner of the receiver's mouth, cupping their face in the process.

♡ Bianchi’s love language is acts of service, and she absolutely adores quality time with her loved ones. She can appreciate a good coffee or restaurant date, especially if it’s a fancy location with high quality ingredients and unique presentations. The more fun food places she experiences, the more inspiration she can draw for her own cooking. She doesn’t make it super obvious how good of a time she’s having, and is often seen sitting across from her partner with sunglasses on and what could almost be a scowl, but she just doesn’t realize how blank her face looks. The upside to this is that no one dares hit on her in public. The downside? There aren't really any. She looks good.

Her expression softens, and a low chuckle reverberates in her sternum, swan-like shoulders lifting slightly as she smiles, tilting her chin lower to peer at the person across from her over her sunnies.

“You have something,” she leans forward before finishing her thought, uncrossing her arms to reach across the table and slide her slender fingers along their jaw to cup their face, “let me get it for you.”

Extending her other perfectly manicured hand, she brushes her thumb softly over the corner of their lips, wiping off a bit of cream from the pastry they were eating. As she admires the slightly surprised look on their face, her grin grows more genuine, turning into an upside-down smile, and she snorts back another giggle.

“Th-thanks,” they mumble, blinking at her.

“Mmhm,” she hums, pleased as she wipes the pastry cream off on the napkin before grabbing the fork and reaching over at the dish in front of her partner.

“Here, I’ll feed you the last bite.”

hi! this is very random so please feel free to dismiss this but i really admire the way you discuss bsd and the works associated with the characters and i want to ask your opinion on something!

i am an art student majoring in illustration, and for one of my classes we've been assigned to create a full book sleeve for a classic book. we had to choose a few from a list to thumbnail out but we were also allowed to pick one or two books off of the list. normally, we aren't allowed to do fanart pieces for any of our classes but naturally i was like this is the perfect oppurtunity to do subtle bsd fanart!

i ended up deciding on wanting to no longer human since i just finished reading it not too long ago

i dont have any bsd friends irl or mutuals on here, so i wanted to see if you may have any ideas on a potential book cover (thats also just thinly vieled dazai fanart),, again no worries if not this is a pretty random request so i get it

anon I am so sorry to have let you down with my reply, I kinda forgot tumblr asks existed again ;-; I hope you did well with your assignment, I would've chosen NLH too! now let me try to make it up to you and respond as if I got this ask a few hours ago!

when I hear "No Longer Human illustration" my mind immediately goes to Junji Ito's manga adaptation. without knowing what your style looks like or how you go through the process of making art, I think of Ito's full-page spreads straight away. something about the chaos, the fine detail, and the balance of it all really draws me in. I think it beautifully captures the subtle horrors of this story and draws them to the attention of the reader in that classic style of his.

in terms of what to actually include on the cover, I have a few ideas that walk the line between dazai fanart and nlh-inspired:

needles: a nod to Mersault and Yozo's addiction. indicates dark themes and a story of one's life told via addiction (to which you could argue, Yozo was always addicted to something. I'm sorry, aot will always be within me now)

a glass of whiskey: incites buraiha, both fictional and real, and again, one of Yozo's addictions.

cigarettes and/or matches; match boxes (say it with me... addiction!)

a gravestone: odasaku; the general vibe of death

it'd also be cool to make the cover look like one of Yozo's comics, but instead of depicting his characters, depict Yozo (or even Dazai!), though this runs the risk of looking too cartoonish. or maybe a rendition of his most perfect self-portrait?

perhaps a portrait that reflects not only Yozo, Dazai (fictional) or Dazai (real), but whoever looks at it? a portrait to reflect the reader, and humanity?

I ramble. I hope this will make up for my late reply, at least!

I just finished watching the special program for 4.0 so

First some things I look forward to in that update:

ZHONGLI RERUN FINALLY, THE DUMB GEO DRAGON WILL BE MINE

The dancing mecha couple boss?? I am so fascinated and intrigued how that fight will go

The diving definitely also looks like fun, so I hope it won't become tedious but so far Genshin has been pretty good when it comes to their exploration environments

(the free Lynette, fuck yeah, I won't have to pull on any banners in phase 1 [sorry Lyney but Zhongli is basically my complete must haves list right now])

Also Childe showing up again??? Let's see if that is actually story relevant or just to add a reason for his rerun

But some (story/lore) hopes for Fontaine:

It's basically a given that the Fatui will be involved somehow, so I am really hoping that they aren't at the source of whatever is going wrong for once (I can dream, right)

Childe showing up definitely indicates some Fatui presence, but from the special program it sounds a bit more like a personal visit though that could also be to draw attention away from any other reason he might be there (again, depends a bit on how big his appearance will be), but the Final Feast teaser with Arlecchino certainly promises some Harbinger involvement (and the "when will there be a real twist" is making me side eye the whole thing heavily)

So yeah, very curious what and how that trial will work out

Less a hope, but more wondering: if the clockwork mechs are at all related or inspired by Khaenri'ah since that had been the main source of all the other mechanical monsters we have seen but they do have a distinctly different aesthetic

(generally more Khaenri'ah lore is always welcome)

As always I am hoping for some compelling characters and an intriguing storyline, and plenty of primogems to unlock the chars I want 😌

And a general hope to top it all off:

Def a couple more fun Geo chars??? Particularly one that can be added to the standard banner??? It's been a while since we got a new one, Yun Jin was the last and that might actually have been even before I started playing this game last year (I don't even have a single Geo 5 star, which is arguably on me, I skipped Albedo and Itto whenever they came around, less because I didn't want them but because I prioritized other characters because they were more fun to play for me, and Zhongli's last rerun was sadly while I was on vacation so the one Geo 5 star I wanted was out of my reach)

Anything in particular you are looking forward to?

do you have any book recs / website recs if I wanted to get into Arthurian Legend (cuz eirikr told me to go to you)

There aren't any really ideal entry points into Arthurian literature, in my opinion. If the early Latin and pseudo-historical works strike your interest than they’re as good a place to start as you’re likely to find, but a chronological reading may not leave a new reader terribly engaged with the material since the antecedents provided by the early chroniclers such as Gildas or Nennius will seem fairly dry and foreign compared to later medieval or modern conceptions of Arthur.

I think a large part of the appeal in studying the subject comes from tracing the development of the various images, characters, and themes that recur across the ages, since Arthuriana is less static than the great mythological cycles that were consolidated into a few principal texts, although this makes them a bit more impenetrable. But any reading order will generate succesive interest so long as you continue to read and draw connections, so here’s a quick overview of the most critical texts that might provide a decent foundation:

Chrétien de Troyes: 12th century, five verse narratives that formally introduce crucial figures such as Lancelot and Percival to the cycle and establishes the tradition of chivalric romance that will define the next several centuries. Great influence on the following entry and generally engaging as poetry in and of itself.

Le Morte d’Arthur: 15th century, an attempt to compile a ‘complete’ telling of the Arthurian cycle from the various French and English sources that came into being following Chrétien. This is the focal point of nearly all subsequent works and especially the source for nearly all popular works produced in the past 200 years, from Idylls of the King to The Once and Future King. Unfortunately plagued by an interminable middle section concerning the Tristan and Isolde romance, but I think the early modern English prose of Mallory is extremely beautiful and tends to carry the repetition.

The Mabinogion: 12th/13th century, compilation of Welsh prose narratives. These embed the emerging romances in the earlier Welsh and Celtic myths, blending both antecendents and unrelated folklore. Honestly not the most compelling read but necessary for a broader cultural understanding of the tradition.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight: 14th century, Middle English alliterative verse narrative cocnerning Gawain’s screwball Yuletime adventure. Short and easy read, fairly self-contained and can be enjoyed with little prior context. They made a movie based on this with Sean Connery as the Green Knight and it is surprisingly not even the best adaptation of this story in film.

If I had to recommend only one of these to start with I’d probably go with Le Morte d’Arthur, although it’s quite long and reflects my personal bias: I personally started with The Once and Future King and then worked my way backwards to Mallory and the earlier French romances. Unfortunately I don’t know of any particular websites that would be good for this, although this list that Dijeh linked in the previous ask contains a lot of great online resources for the original texts. I also recommend looking into the chronicles mentioned above (Gildas, Geoffrey of Monmouth etc.) once you’ve got a grounding in the later texts. Hope this helps!

I ran across an August Outfit challenge and was intrigued but 1) I'm not waiting until August and 2) I don't dig any of the prompt lists so I slapped my own together. It's uh... probably 50% incomprehensible to people that aren't me, but the main take-away is that the last item is sending in a photo of a clothing item/outfit. I'll talk more about the prompts under the cut for those curious.

These are previews of the character line-up that I was working on for a New Years Resolution a few years ago; I like how they came out, but I never finished them. I'm hoping to use an outfit challenge to practice drawing on them & from that maybe relearning my style enough to complete the set. Especially Rim B; I have no idea why that's the only sheet I did 7/8 for. These are the first eight characters from Tiers 1-3 (minus Rim B). They were all drawn painstakingly height accurate so I can use them for comparative line-ups.

I find askbox memes really inspiring when I draw, so that's why I'm running the challenge like this for now. In the long term, the idea is to complete all 28 prompts for the bases I have right now (at least). Wish me luck. u-u

1-12 & 21-28 are obvious enough, I think; for 28 I'll default to Hello Project idol costumes if left to my own devices. 27 refers to a specific brand; you can pick one or leave it open ended. If you have questions about those numbers, go ahead and ask.

13-16. Shuffle Unit, Shuffle Unit Swap, Crossover Unit, Encore Shirts - this refers to their official idol units in the meta; read more about the project here. "Swap" means I draw them in a different Unit. "Crossover" means I put them in a sub-unit with a new theme that combines their current unit & a second unit. "Encore Shirt" relates to this; stylized outfits for an Encore performance.

17. Color Team - More idol costumes, but this time they were sorted into teams based on their image color (the color their name is written in above). I haven't posted the completed project yet, but each team has a different outfit theme.

18. Official Goods Color - This one is more hyper-specific than usual; it might only make sense to me but basically going to be a set of matching costumes with a lot of bows in their image color. Or rather the shade of their image color used for "official goods" in the meta; it's a pointless degree of realism that amuses me (penlights can't be black, t-shirts can't be printed in every hexcode etc).

19 & 20. Seasonal Vacation & Seasonal Vacation Swap - Tl;dr I sorted all 64 OCs into groups of 4 for seasonal vacation themed illustrations; each vacation has a costume theme that goes with it so Disney Bounding outfits for Disney World, yukata for the Onsen trip etc. It's basically a costume prompt that varies based on which character it's attached to. See: the chart below.

(ex: Haoniyao would get a Disneybound costume for 19, and anything BUT a Disneybound costume for 20)

Hello and happy friday! Today, what’s your team of six pokemon? Any legendaries, shinies, and mythicals, no rules! You can give items and movesets or just pokemon. You can give them personalities and tell me about them, whatever you want!

The first four of these are ones I already have in mind, based on an old series of drawing prompts I followed once. I imagined my trainer-self living in the Orange Islands (I like tropical weather but don't like the Alolan art style) so that influenced a few of my choices.

Ninetales--for cuddling with on chilly nights. I get cold pretty easily and my least favorite pkmn in the Orange Islands is a Bug-type, so I wanted a Fire-type--but not one with a constant open flame because that just seemed too hazardous. I considered Growlithe and/or Arcanine, but having recently become allergic to dogs I wouldn't want to take that risk.

Jigglypuff--if I could only have ONE pkmn in my life, I would probably pick a Jigglypuff because I have such a hard time falling asleep at night. Of course, I would specifically ask mine to sing me a lullaby, so that it would be proud when I fell asleep instead of angry. Back when I was first coming up with this list I considered drawing my Jigglypuff as a shiny to differentiate it from the marker-wielding one in the show. Nickname: Johannes (after Brahms, writer of one of the most famous lullabies I know)

Lapras--I know it's a little hypocritical to pick a pkmn Ash has had after my other efforts to make sure none of my team could be mistaken for someone from the show, but I really wanted a Lapras. It could be a companion and potential lifeguard at the beach, a platform to rest on (or jump off of, like those floating platforms I've seen at many a lakefront), and a personal watercraft that doesn't pollute or make lots of noise.

Eevee--A few different characters have had a pkmn that's the "baby" of the team and prefers snuggling in their person's arms or lap over battling. Eevee would be that for me. If held items aren't permanent (I'm not as familiar with the games) then I'd give it an Everstone until I could find out which, if any, evolutions it wanted--otherwise I could accidentally ruin its hopes of becoming, say, a Jolteon with too much friendship or affection.

The following two were chosen with a lot less forethought, since I had only planned out a team of four before today.

Beedrill--A bit of an unusual choice considering how I feel about wasps, but if I got startled by a giant wasp and I happened to have a Pokeball that can contain said giant wasp for at least a few seconds, giving me a chance to escape, I would probably throw it. So I can definitely imagine my trainer-self catching a Beedrill completely by accident.

Tangela--for no other reason besides it's the only pure Grass-type in its Generation and I thought that was neat.

ginaaa i read our lives, non fiction bc of you a while back and i loved it so much, i was wondering if you had any rec that has sorta the same feel, i really loved the tension, the fact they were "rivals", the way harry/marcel was so out of it for louis, it was so good omg, anyways im rambling now lol thats it thank you for you recs 💞

Isn't that such a terrific fic? God, their writing is just beyond. So... I have a list of great Enemies to Lovers fics, although there aren't too many where I'd say they were rivals. But here's what I can suggest:

The Serpent and the Lion by louiseparker (E, 212K) Despite the fact that I have zero interest in Harry Potter, I was pulled into this immediately and read all 200+K in two days. The author does a wonderful job of creating a nuanced OT5 friendship, writes great dialogue, and draws a intricate picture of life at Hogwartz. Most of all, I loved the use of flashbacks to tell the story, the deeply layered characterization of Harry, and how wonderfully he and Louis fit together and brought out the best in each other. I’m so happy I found this one.

Tainted Saints and Velvet Vices by Toomanytears (M, 126K) Let me start by saying that I know next to nothing about Harry Potter, but this crossover was so much fun to read. I thought this author did a terrific job of creating a realistic hatred/rivalry and growth for both boys so when they come together it’s as good for us as it is for them (well, maybe they have more fun — the smut is slow burn, but it’s well done)!

(Take Me Home) Country Roads by Awriterwrites / @a-writerwrites (E, 87K) This is one of my favorite fics from this author (one of my favorite fics all around, actually). First of all, it’s so funny. Second, I love the way the author set up the initial distrust and misunderstanding while still making it believable that the characters would come to respect each other. Plus, once they finally get together the chemistry is so, so good.

I’ve Been Hoping You’d Be Somewhere Better Than This by runaway_train / @runaway-train-works (E, 40K) I love a fic where they’re thrown together for work and both cannot get along and cannot resist each other. This one is really fun and really hot and definitely worth a read. Plus, it’s part one of a 4-part series (which I haven’t yet read, but I’m looking forward to doing it soon)!

Close to Nowhere by @angelichl (E, 35K) I really enjoyed the unique story and the way Harry and Louis relate to each other in this one. It’s fun and quirky and sexy and keeps you on the edge until the end. Definitely worth checking out.

everything that shine ain’t always gonna be gold by sarcasticfluentry (E, 49K) You don’t need to know anything about the movie that inspired this fic (it’s an Inception AU). What you do need to know is that it’s got great OT5, it’s super sexy, it’s got a terrific story line, and the pacing is just right for a nail biter.

Empty Skies by green_feelings / @greenfeelings (E, 13K) I just started re-reading this the other day and it holds up so well. This author is always a pleasure to read. Their fics just are well plotted and the characters are nicely fleshed out. I loved Perrie as Harry’s bestie, the bitterness and angst is PAINFUL, and the ending feels well-earned.

Yellow by 13ways (E, 85K) Oh mah gawd. I love this fic so much. This was the result of a reverse big bang I made a prompt for and I’m forever grateful that this was the author who chose it! Yes, it’s Batman/Catwoman. No, you don’t ned to know anything about the comics. But wow! Such good pacing, the smut scenes are fire, the concept is so original and keeps you guessing until the very end. Link is to a download

The Finish Line (Is A Good Place For Us To Start) by LoadedGunn (E, 122K) F1 racers Louis and Harry. I really need to read this again because it’s been ages. But suffice it to say that this author always delivers with pacing, smut, and an exciting story. This time we’ve got race car drivers, great banter, and great OT5 friendship.

And last, the one you mentioned:

Our Lives, Non Fiction by @indiaalphawhiskey (E, 114K) this is, quite literally, the best fic I’ve read in years. It’s so well written, clever, funny, emotional, and sexy. Its draw you in immediately and you’ll end up falling in love with these characters before you know it. Don’t miss this one.

Tamaki Amajiki Relationship Headcanons:

A/N: Tamaki is actually one of my main comfort characters, as well as one of my kins. I felt like writing for him because I've been pretty down lately and don't feel too well tbh. Looking at this in revision makes me laugh a little bc of the cover of the gif

Anxious sweetheart

He probably wrote a love letter to you and had Nejire and/or Mirio deliver it for him, as he would probably pass out from anxiety if he asked you out in person

It's very neatly written, with a few sketches of butterflies on the envelope (I feel like he has nice hand writing, as well as good drawing skills)

If you said yes he would be over the moon

I feel like your first date would either be a zoo, a cat cafe, or a butterfly sanctuary (idk if they have butterfly sanctuaries in Japan, but my location has one and it's really cool)

Since he would most likely be nervous, the animals and whatnot would help to calm his nerves a bit, especially if there's a lot of people there

If anyone ever makes fun of/insults him, you would be right there telling the person off and making sure he doesn't take their words to heart

If anything ever happened to you he wouldn't be able to forgive himself, even if there was no way he could've prevented it

He loves you so much and hopes you realize that through his small gestures, as he's a bit too jittery to tell you he loves you sometimes

Despite his rather anxious and sad demeanor, in private he would be a bit more lively since there isn't really anyone there besides you

You two often have sleep overs with Nejire and Mirio

Yuyu will occasionally join in, but not too often

They both like you a lot and are very supportive of your relationship

He likes to cook/bake with you when he gets stressed. You never fail to make him smile, even if it's just for a second

Tamaki is always extremely supportive of you, and hopes that you feel the same

Weather one of you feels insecure, or just aren't in a good mood, there are a lot of little things that the other person does that cheers you both up with little to no effort

He thinks of you like an angel tbh

I'm debating on who would say "I love you" first

I feel like he's the type of person who just doesn't think once he gets to a certain point of tiredness, so if you were both up late and hadn't said it yet in your relationship, that's how it would happen

I can just imagine him half asleep talking to you, and all of a sudden a "love you" would slip from his lips

After that he would be wide awake once again, panicking in case you didn't feel the same while his face was turning a million shades of red

Once you reassured him that it was fine and you felt the same, he would tackle you in a hug while you both laughed (if you're in person, anyway. If not, he would start laughing a little while telling you how happy he is to hear that over the phone)

Overall, Tamaki would be a very good partner who loves you to no end. Probably daydreamed about your wedding more than he'd like to admit

@justbeingedgy @weird-colombian-gurl You asked me to elaborate on the "Ches already has a kid" theory in the notes of that one mf analysis post (which I really liked, go check it out!!), so that's why I'm making this one, cuz notes are a bit too restricting for what I want to talk about!

Though next time think twice before asking me to talk about something I'm interested in, because you never know when you're gonna wake up lovecraftian horrors!! :DDD you'll see what i mean when you press read more :))

So, I'll say it right now - this post is largely inspired by the second story highlight of this Instagram user (sorry, I don't know their name, only that their Instagram handle is dee_girl_metalfamilyfan), it's in Russian though, so keep that in mind

Alright, so I'll break this theory into two parts: the first one will be all about Ches, and the second will be about his potential child (spoiler: you might've seen her!)

Without any further ado, let's get to the Ches part:

1. The creators said that they're gonna explore Ches' character in the second season. Obviously, it doesn't mean anything on it's own, but just wait.

Dima: Let's talk about the second season a little. Of course, the seconds season will show development of the old characters, as well as new ones. That's in short. As you see, Ches looks a bit different here.

Alina: Yeah, we'll show a bit more about Ches at the ages of 18 to 20. His past. We'll reveal a bit more about his complex character, as much as it's possible.

(The source of the translation) Also I think they also said at one point that adult Ches will get some character development too? But that's probably a given, considering that we wouldn't see his youth if it wouldn't have affected him in the present, flashbacks without any relevance to the overall story don't sound so good

2. Not sure about this one (we don't know how much in character it was) but I can't not mention it.

Alina: Actually there was this one fanfic that I really liked. I don’t remember what it was called, but it was about Ches having a daughter, which is a cool topic. It was relatively in character and truly interesting. It’s great when people focus not just on sexual relationships of the characters, but also try to look at their development. That was a really interesting one. That’s it.

3. This one's a pretty big one, in my opinion. So, this is what they said on ArtWave '19:

Dima: Ches also has flaws.

Alina: [to Dima] Don’t spoil stuff.

Dima: His flaw is that he's very... irresponsible, let’s say.

So, maybe, just maybe, Ches does have a child but he, you know... left them? As the Instagram highlight from the beginning say: "he might be irresponsible enough to leave his child, and he's probably irresponsible enough not to use any contraception" (rephrased, not the exact quote)

4. Alright, so, the only mention of this one I can think of right now is the aforementioned Instagram highlight. The Metalfamilyfan says:

I contacted Korg/Корж, (admin of @ metal_yama [and I believe one of the organizers of the Metal Family Meetup in Moscow]) and she asked Alina on one of the meetups: "if Ches were to be a father, what kind of father would he be?"

And she said: "The kind of that would say "kid, look at that birdie over there!" an then he would run away"

Someone's words are not the perfect source, but they did tag Metal Yama and from what I know they didn't disagree with what the author of the page said. if anyone has anything to say about this (disprove or definitely prove what I said) feel free to do so in a reblog, notes, DMs, send me an anonymous ask, or in any other way you feel comfortable with

5. Ches has literally been through the same thing, and we know how important the theme of the cycle of abuse is in Metal Family (or, in this case, the cycle of neglect? Abandonment? Idk)

You managed to hide your PREGNANCY from me! AND you've been hiding the child from me for a whole year!

YES, because you would've insisted on aborting him!

AND NOW I'M INSISTING ON PUTTING HIM UP FOR ADOPTION! OR I'LL LEAVE RIGHT NOW!

6. Here we can see Ches with a blonde girl. Nothing too special, probably just a one time hook up. He doesn't seem to be interested in her, and she seems to be annoyed with him.

But wait...

What is this?

Like, it doesn't even matter if there's actually a punk/rock/whatever band named MOM or not, I just think it's pretty weird to put it in this particular drawing of Ches and this random woman who is implied to have slept with him. It's not integral to Ches' character as, for example, Korol i Shut is. It's just... there. For some reason.

Alright, now, finally let's get to the second part of the theory: who is, exactly, his child?

The short answer is, according to this theory, her:

First, let me list every single instance of her appearing in canon (and by canon I mean everything made by the creators. Even with this definition of canon it's not much, I promise): The screenshot you can see above on the left (it's a screenshot from the second season and it appeared here), an instagram story posted by Alina (above, right), and two drawing with a lot of characters where you can spot the girl which I'm gonna call her PinkHair or PH for short, I'll mention them later I feel like I should mention this, comparing the sources of the images and the dates when they were posted, it's safe to assume that the screenshot in the classroom has the latest and final version of her design. The red hair most likely doesn't mean anything

1. Alright. So. we've seen Dee and PinkHair in a classroom together, so they're most likely related in some way, or at least they know each other. Their exact relationship doesn't matter here, because all that matters here is that they're related story-wise

Let's look at the first image. This is the banner of the main Metal Family channel. Ches is near Heavy (they get along quite well and I'm sure Heavy aspires to be like Ches in many ways), Dee (we can see his classmates/friends near him, they're all about his age), and we can see people related to Glam on the left side of the image (including Ches!), and Vicky's - on the right side (notice how the hell sign is also there)

Now, I'm not absolutely sure about this one, but it's still kind of weird - look at the image on the right (it's from ArtWave 2021 btw) - wouldn't it make more sense to put PinkHair near Dee? Also, Curiously enough, not only is she not close to Dee on this image, but she's also standing next to Ches.

Though this whole thing could be explained by art theory (too many small things in one corner of your drawing isn't great composition wise lol sorry PH) but I still can't quite skip this point

2. Remember the "MOM" lady? Fun fact, she has the exact same pearl earring that PinkHair has on the screenshot.

3. I'll put all similarities with her supposed parents in this point: Mother: * She's also pretty uh.. glam? for the lack of a better word? Or feminine in a traditional sense, yeah I think that's a better way to put it. Like colors they prefer to wear for example, and jewelry. Characters like that aren't common in Metal Family * She's gotta be a blonde. I can't imagine her being anything but blonde. If she manages to maintain that hair color as a brunette I'm just straight up assuming her character arc is gonna be killing God because these kind of people are capable of anything. I fear them with every fiber of my being. * I can't say for sure because of the shading, but it seems like they both have gray eyes, and she also has darker skin compared to most MF characters. Though, it's likely that Mom just applied a lot of fake tan Ches: * We know that Ches for sure has darker skin * AND grey eyes * There's also some possible personality similarities but I'm not sure if you can compare a child to a parent they've never really known in this way

That's about it, I suppose, I hope there isn't that many grammar mistakes and logically unfinished parts and whatnot in this post I forgot to edit lol x) I'm not sure how to end this post other than to remind you guys that almost all the points in this posts are inspired by the "тупая теория" highlight on the dee_girl_metalfamilyfan's Instagram page, so go check them out and subscribe, they post Dee x The Quest Girl fanart and and always credit the artists. They did address that Loki's aggression comes from a hurt place. Loki himself says it to Mobius in episode 1 with his "I don't enjoy hurting people" speech. And narcissism isn't true self love anyway, but a front for lacking it. Narcissists aren't well people.

I’m so glad you sent this ask cause I was planning on making a point about this earlier and totally forgot about it lol.

Ok so I’m pretty sure this is about my Loki Series Critical post from a few days ago where I said that one thing that irritated me about the series and Ragnarok is that they kept telling us Loki was a narcissist despite that not being the case in any of the previous films. I want to preface this by saying that I don’t actually hate the series! I absolutely despise Ragnarok, and I’m not apologising for that… but there are quite a few things about the series that I really liked! Some of those things were the entire “I don’t enjoy hurting people” speech and basically Mobius’s entire grilling of Loki’s past actions.

The only thing that really really does irritate me about both of these moments is that they scratch the surface without even trying to dig deeper.

Yes, Loki hurts others because he wants to feel in control, but…. Man, that’s just one of about a hundred thousand conflicting motivations going on in his head… and when you draw attention to this one in particular without acknowledging any of the others…. it paints a picture that’s so incomplete and lacking in context that it becomes a false representation.

Yes, narcissism is a complex real-life mental health condition, but people don’t think of that when they hear the word. That’s not the colloquial meaning of “narcissism”. Most people hear “narcissist” and they immediately think “self-obsessed” because- in popular media- that’s what the term has evolved to mean. If you wanted to break out a list of irl symptoms of NPD and argue that Loki fits the criteria, there’s a chance I might agree with you (might. Probably not, but I might.), but that’s not what the series is doing, and that’s sure as hell not what Ragnarok was doing. Both Loki (2021) and TR use “he’s a narcissist” to mean “Loki is full of himself”- which is a completely twisted oversimplification of the disorder, but also a completely twisted oversimplification of Loki’s character.

And doesn’t that just sum it all up? “Twisted oversimplification” of Loki as a character has been a problem in every single one of the Phase 3 and 4 movies, and a lot of us were really hoping that the series would break that habit. And I think it’s even worse than Ragnarok, IW, and Endgame… cause the series actually gives us crumbs of good characterisation, and then just… doesn’t go anywhere with it….

Hope this makes sense! I’m not saying anyone is wrong for drawing parallels between Loki and real people with NPD, I’m just saying that that’s.. not what the show is doing.

The Second Great War of Remnant has begun. Once more, Vale and Mantle are embroiled in a massive conflict, only this time, they are on the same side against Atlas.

I don't think it was a coincidence that so many people drew parallels with the last episode and WWI. We've never seen people fight that way in RWBY. Grimm don't use projectile weapons the way humans do, so the benefits of the trench are diminished; especially if you compare it to the drawbacks.

Now, I understand not everyone in the Atlas military has their aura unlocked and the squishy soldiers need some cover, but if The Long Memory didn't nuke every grimm on Atlas, the lines would have been overrun and then there would have been nowhere for them to retreat to.

You think the very real hand to hand struggles in the trenches of WWI were bad, imagine being trapped in a narrow trench with a bear. Or having this thing explode out of the ground under you.

I refuse to believe no-one in Atlas ever thought, "if we put the dirt from the trench in a box, no only can we give our soldiers cover, we can also give them an elevated position to fire from."

The top of a wall has been the primary defensive position for the people of Remnant for a long time. You can see them in the establishing shots of most settled places the team has visited. So why are we seeing a trench now?

Simple.

Show, don't tell.

RWBY has done a pretty great job, especially in the last few seasons, of showing the audience what it is trying to convey without explicitly telling them. They especially like drawing from well known folk lore to give insight into the future of the show.

Only difference here, instead of drawing the parallel between characters, they're drawing parallels between worlds.

Remnant's first Great War started with Mantle suppressing freedom of expression, the destruction of Art and Color. Ironwood always has little in the way of color, but in his first broadcast since everything started hitting the fan, he has none.

That broadcast also included evacuation ships being blown up by fighter-bombers, Dunkirk. It threatend to level a city if they didn't surrender, Battle of Brittan. All delivered by a dictator trying to scare his opponents into submission through careful use of film.

Theories

If the rest of the season is WWII, I have several theories on plot direction. Considering how well they did keeping up with both ends of the battlefield it wouldn't surprise me if they followed all of them at the same time.

Operation Dunkirk

Or, the evacuation of Mantle.

Players: Penny, Nora, Ren, Happy Huntresses

The Happy Huntresses involvement is a given. Not only has saving Mantle been their goal the whole time, they're also stuck in the middle of it right now.

Penny is the Protector of Mantle. It would be a shining moment for her character to fully throw off the virus Watts implanted and overcome Ironwood's threats to do so. Just crossing my fingers that it doesn't end like the Iron Giant.

Nora is currently Penny's tether to sanity, so she has to go with, and I doubt they would separate Ren from her for the next arc so he's going too.

Surprise twist for this plot I'm betting will be the Starwars "they aren't warships, just people" scene everyone loves to rag on. After all, the broadcast went out that they needed help and, at least at Dunkirk, it was fishing boats and pleasure crafts that retrieved the 338,000 surrounded on all sides.

Why We Fight

Or, countering Ironwoods propaganda.

Players: Robyn and Qrow

For one, these two are unaccounted for and in the heart of Atlas' military machine. If anyone has means to do so, it's them.

The film, Why We Fight, also countered the dramatic cinematography of Goebbels propaganda by painting it as ridiculous and making a folksy call to action much like Robyn has done in the past.

Operation Fortitude

Or, the deception of Ironwood.

Players: Emerald, Jaune, Oscar

This is the mission to make Ironwood think the team is going after the relic. This theory is why I actually thought of and wrote out this whole thing. Thanks @maxiemumdamage, I had things I was supposed to do tonight.

Only difference in my theory and their's, is Jaune is going to be playing the part of Penny.

I say this for two reasons. One, Joan of Arc pretended to be a man. While we've gotten both Jaune pretending to be something he's not and him in a dress, this would pose the first time in the story he could do both. Two, it would put him on a direct collision path with Cinder. It needs to happen at some point to bring his arc to a conclusion, but man I hope we're not about to watch him burn.

With Ozpin active again, Oscar has to go along to direct them to the vault. He's also one of two backing the idea of Emerald joining the team and Jaune wouldn't be willing to work with her without him.

Operation Overlord

Or, busting down the doors of Atlas Acadamy.

Players: Ruby, Blake, Weiss, Yang

Where Operation Fortitude was the faint, Operation Overlord was the real deal. For those that aren't history buffs, this is D-Day.

I think this is the reason we've only seen the main team fighting together once since their split from Beacon. And even then, that fight was at most pairs of fighters and not all four of them supporting one another.

RWBY tricked us into thinking season 4 was the post-timeskip level up we come to expect from anime when really we ended up watching the training flashbacks as they happened instead.

We've seen hints of it with the various team ups and combinations, but are we really ready for how much ass kicking they are about to do?

I'm hoping for a One Piece level of badass entrance that can give me shivers whenever I go to watch it again like the walk to Arlong Park still does to this day.

The long awaited defection. Plenty of speculation has already floated around about if and when these two where going to cave to their morals and jump ship. I don't know how many of us were expecting the straw to break the camel's back to be a nuke held over Mantle, but I certainly wasn't.

What worries me, is Operation Valkyrie failed and all its conspirators were executed. As if there weren't enough death flags for Winter before.

Even if it's not Winter that kills him. I don't see Ironwood surviving this season. Even if it means he goes out like another hated dictator. It's not like it would be the first time RT had a fallen hero chose to use his own sword.

Players: Cinder, Watts, Neo, Tyrian, Mercury, Clover

These players can go any which way. Three we know for sure are going to be active in the coming episodes and I wouldn't be surprised if the other three play a part as well.

Oscar made a hell of a light show for Tyrian and Mercury to see behind them. Not to mention, Salem will still need a ride home when she pulls herself back together.

Clover keeps getting mentioned even though he's hospitalized. If he was truly out of commission for the rest of the season, they would have made us think he's dead before bringing him back like they did with Penny.

Up to now, what we've seen is a three way conflict. But one of the hallmarks of Remnant's First Great War, was making temporary alliances to fight off grimm.

The grimm might be gone, but the wild cards can't complete their own objectives if they are dead. The question is who's goals better align with their own.

Two surprise twists I can see here. One, Mercury stabbing Tyrian on his way to defection. He was raised by an assassin and has not going to get a better chance than that. Two, Clover joining Operation Valkyrie. He might have accepted that sacrifice is a necessary evil to ensure Atlas' survival, but might go Schindler's List on us and find horror in what Ironwood plans to do.

TLDR

I spent way too long writing this out. All the WWI imagery means we're getting a WWII movie with RWBY characters. Major death flags for Penny, Jaune, and Winter.

Also I finally figured out how to do a readmore. Apparently it's just been a long time since I updated.

Note: kept seeing things talking about clovers death and I kind of went ???? Isn't he barely alive in medical? Went back and watched that scene and though I am 90% sure he is dead still kind of weird that they have him in his own room instead of a morgue and the initial framing made my mind instantly think he was propped up on a hospital bed. I mean, I guess we needed to have all the ACEOPs there for their reaction to Ironwood... but it definitely made me think he was alive. That and they have a bandage on his chest wound... when he's supposedly dead. Also have a phantom memory of Harriet saying something about him being in critical but I think that's my memory playing tricks on me.

Having his face exposed instead of covered by the sheet and seeing him in the same frame as Winter being treated also didn't help my gut reaction of "Oh Shit! He's alive? How?!" If I'd followed up more on the "how" might not have made the blunder of writing his return as the final twist in my theory. Oops
