Talk About Sensitivity In The COD Fandom **Important.**

THIS IS NOT A DEBATE POST. DO NOT BOTHER.

Hey, everyone. After the reveal of Makarov in the trailer (as well as general concern), I think a chat about sensitivity is important. Since the trailer’s release, I have seen a major increase in simping for Makarov posts as well as genuine romanticization of Russia and/or Russian Soldiers. First, I want to talk about the romanticization of Russia and/or Russian soldiers because it’s seriously getting out of hand. I need you guys to realize that Russia is an ultranationalist country and yes, maybe not everyone who lives there believes what their government does, but it’s important to know a big portion of their population does. I have seen multiple posts and edits of this man right here (pictures below).

THIS GUY IS NOT SOMEONE YOU SHOULD LIKE, AND PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT HE DOES NOT LIKE YOU. This is one of the most popular Russian Soldiers amongst the internet due to the way he wears a mask, gear, has an accent, and is buff. He makes videos teaching soldiers how to kill people—innocent people in Ukraine who are just trying to survive. I have seen people straight up ignore when someone tells them what this man has done, so let me put it this way—he does not like you. He wants you dead. He is racist, a homophobe, transphobe, antisemitic, etc. He absolutely hates The West, and he does not like you unless you are a cis, straight, white 100% Russian. Even if you’re a woman, he DOES NOT LIKE YOU. If you American, HE DOES NOT WANT YOU ALIVE.

[This part is not targeted; just a general statement.] Second; there is a serious problem with how you guys address Makarov as a character. There is absolutely no problem enjoying him as a villain because I do too, but you guys have to realize that Makarov is an ultranationalist—which is exactly what Russia is right now, an ultranationalist terrorist state. “But he’s fictional, it doesn’t matter! it’s not that deep!” It actually is that deep. I keep seeing content for Makarov and I can’t force anyone to stop making “fluffy fics”, but I need y’all to have some fucking decency towards victims and people affected by the war. I know people who are affected by the war who feel ill seeing posts painting Makarov in a good light. If you are going to write Makarov, do NOT romanticize him as a character—do NOT paint him a decent or good light, because you can’t. Write him like the bastard he is. And no, this isn’t a “let people write what they wanna write” situation. You can do that, but please be expected to be judged and blocked by me and many others. Makarov is quite literally the characterization of everything that is wrong with Russia, and what HAS been wrong with Russia. Makarov is not a bad boy, a rebel, etc, he’s a fucking terrorist. Please be for real. “But the military in general is bad, so why does it matter specifically around Makarov?” Please see above my previous reasons. Thanks.

The overall message of this point is to be fucking respectful. There are actual people dying and slaughtered for no reason other than ruined pride and a lot of Ukrainian folk seek comfort and distractions in the internet and their fandoms. This ruins it for them and quite frankly, sometimes how Makarov is being written? It’s completely insensitive. a community where we can organize a callout post that thousands of people are guaranteed to see needs to do better for itself in the future. i am not speaking out against people who were hurt by the person mentioned in the original post because they are allowed to work through their hurt the way that they need. that being said, i think we can all admit that we need to do better for each other.

creating an anonymous account that can call anyone out (that has now spawned at least one other i've seen) is not the way we, as adults, should be handling things. i blocked the original posting account when it followed me because it was ageless and blank (therefore breaking rule number one of this community...). this is not an acceptable way to raise awareness of issues that have potential real world consequence.

inflammatory language is used in posts like these to get you fired up, to make you believe you're really fighting for something, and it's okay to be uncertain on if you agree with an issue or not until you really think about it. it's okay if you did rb it because it appealed to emotion and you have thought differently in the days that have passed.

the post circulated for HOURS on friday containing a false and potentially damaging allegation against someone who is not responsible for or consumed the content in question. are we not a little scared by that? you can now have thousands of people see a post about you simply because you're friends with someone?

the tags on that post are some of the worst of human nature. transphobic, homophobic, calling for doxxing and death...vile. so many people have seen a false allegation against flora who is worried she'll never be able to come back bc despite the correction that she wasn't involved, the damage was already done. this is just....i'm disappointed.

think critically about what you consume. consider the things that make you uncomfortable and why. do not engage with them if they make you uncomfortable after pondering to yourself. these are all rules that are age old on the internet and bear repeating.

also for the record: i am not anti aging up. i am not anti dc (dark content). if these are issues for anyone following me who would like to break mutuals or unfollow, there are zero hard feelings. you have to curate your online experience to your comfort and i would never fault someone for doing this.

i've still been keeping tabs on what's happening at automattic. a couple of things i've observed:

toni schneider (who is a man btw), the interim ceo, has been quite open with staff in ways that mean they generally seem relieved to have him leading the company for now. i've heard people speak optimistically about him from all parts of the spectrum (by which i mean: staff who are trans tumblr users right through to staff who are "anti-woke" or whatever and were absolutely intolerable to work with as a trans person), which seems like... a good sign? maybe.

this relative transparency includes things like weekly updates from an executive level, as well as openly saying that he did have to directly speak to matt and encourage him to, you know, stop posting.

matt is back to his usual milquetoast blogging, and replied to someone on mastodon about the AI issue saying he'd comment on it when he's back in may, so whatever toni said to him seems to have worked for him keeping out of it for now.

people have no idea what it's gonna look like when matt's back.

the best case scenario is that schneider manages to create a significant enough boost in morale and productivity that "it'd be nice if we just kept him" becomes a sentiment that isn't held just by the rank and file. i don't know how likely that is, but there's a sense of cautious hope and of making the most of this reprieve from matt's increasingly erratic decisions no matter what.

the tumblr staff statement was approved by schneider and hr, so i am also hopeful they won't face repercussions. what they said might seem pretty mild from the outside, or carefully worded, but it's pretty clear to me and to most people who've worked at companies like this that it's a pretty bold one.

i'll quote a friend:

keep reminding the more histrionic elements out there that: 1. there really are trans people, INCLUDING TRANS WOMEN, in the fight here. 2. we don't have nearly the power they seem to think we do. 3. we're fighting anyway. was the statement we wrote enough? fuck no. does it fix everything? fuck no. but we literally called out the CEO, and got the greenlight for it from the interim CEO. i don't know where this will end, but that's not nothing.

i'm not sure automattic deserves the immense honor of having this many of its brave, dedicated trans staff put effort into trying to make it better. but it has them, and it would be wise to do its best to keep them. so many of us — even me, even now — believe in the ideals that drew us to the work automattic does, and hope that it can return to them. we will see!

other things i want to say:

the wellbeing of my friends on staff is my priority. i am interested primarily in their safety, and won't pressure them to give me goss. the ways i've spoken publicly are already pretty scary to people who might worry about retaliation against them just for being known to be my friend.

this is a regular personal blog. i'll keep updating if there's shit to update about, but i also don't work at automattic any more (thank fuck, again), have a life, and am not interested in declaring matt my specific nemesis or otherwise acting purely out of spite.

some of youse really deeply do not understand companies, the internet, generative ai, or pretty much anything else i've said. that's okay — big tech in particular is fucked up on purpose bc it benefits those in power to have it be incomprehensible! but maybe it's not a great position from which to get mad at me specifically or at staff for idk not personally assassinating matt.

got tired of blocking transphobes so i've turned anons off. i'll probably flick them back on eventually.

Hii can I request one where reader is a very good student and the type of person who never gets in trouble or anything, but one day Larissa gets called to go get them at the police station because they got in a really bad fight, so on the way back she is kind of scolding them and reader doesn't open their mouths until they get to the school and reader just can't leave the car because they're scared, turna out they got into that fight because some jerks where being very homophobic/transphobic towards them and tried to physically hurt them so reader was just protecting themselves.

How did you get here? Head resting against the dirty block of wood as deep marron flowers adorned your hair, vines attempting to fight their way out of your ivory gloves. All clear signs of the deep pain you were in. Yet the officers didn’t seem to care here, all they cared about was that you had hit another person. Maybe if they’d asked why it would’ve made more sense. But they never do.

Larissa Weems was fuming, it was extremely unlike you to do something like this. Violence is something you are terrified of, she almost asked the officer to check the Id of her student again. It couldn’t be you. Only this time it was. Normally this journey is done to fetch Wednesday Addams, not her estranged twin. Wednesday being your complete opposite meant you were sent to live in a facility to help tame your powers from a young age. Mortica hated it but it was necessary as you could be a danger to everyone your near.

“Let’s go” Larissa demanded making sure to add her frustration and disappointment to her tone. She was expecting some fight, an explanation but all she got was silence. Much like the police officer had warned her. Since you were brought in and questioned for assault you’d said nothing. Odd. You’d spent many evenings in Larissa’s office to catch up on studies and you were never non verbal even when things were tough.

The car journey being the exact same silence, your eyes holding all your emotions along with the flowers in your hair. Really you were just processing what happened which meant you couldn’t escape your head. Everything and everyone around you blurred into the background until the engine shut off.

“Come on daring” Larissa tried but was met with you looking like a deer caught in headlights, shaking your head. “Why? It’s Nevermore dear, you’re safe at Nevermore you know that right?” Was all it took for you to break down into silent sobs as you clung to be car door repeatedly mumbling no and don’t make me over and over.

As if she was approaching a scared cat she slowly sat back in the car shutting the door and waiting for you to make a move. It took some time but if there’s one thing about the principal it’s that she is a patient woman who would do anything for Nevermore and those within its walls.

When you moved it was like every inch was like waiting hours but eventually you lent over to lean your head on the woman’s lap as you tried to calm yourself. A gentle hand began to rub soothing circles on your back but accidentally hitting a sore spot causing you to help out. “Oh my darling, I’m sorry I didn’t know” she murmured which caused you to sit up tears silently running. “It’s my fault, they think I’m a freak. I shouldn’t like girls it’s wrong. Mother would be disappointed in me.”

“Darling, you can like whoever you want… is that what happened?” She murmured and you shook your head sadly. “I thought we were good friends, but she took me to this group of people and they kept trying to-“ you sucked a deep breath in, “touch me and I didn’t want them to!” You sobbed finally feeling relief of exposing the situation.

“Oh sweet one, you were defending yourself hmm?” Which you nodded sadly and whimpered apologies for dragging the schools name into this, that Larissa had to leave her quarters at such a late hour. It was truly heartbreaking but now she knew, she would protect you and any of her students from this pain again. It got to the point you’d exhausted yourself and fallen asleep in the car so she gently scooped you up and took you to the spare room near her quarters to make sure you were okay. It wasn’t easy but you had her for the long and painful journey of learning to love yourself for who you love.

Yes, T is a controlled substance because of bullshit athletics laws. There being another reason that law exists does not mean it cannot and is not used to actively target trans people, ESPECIALLY trans people of color. This article goes over the numerous ways that T being a controlled substance opens the doors for a variety of abuses, & this one goes more in depth into, Stann Fransisco, a transmasc Two Spirit, who was arrested, sexually assaulted, and jailed after police found hez T and needles and hey had to out hemself as trans. It was not made a controlled substance because of transmascs, but they certainly use it to target transmascs & others and there's no reason that a transphobic government would be interesting in letting go on this control.

With trans people and pregnancy, its a similar situation- ATM might not be the reason people on T are taken off it during pregnancy, but it can absolutely be used by people (such as abusive partners) to detransition people. (Also, intersexism plays a huge role in this as well, since a lot of times the major "danger" of people being pregnant on T is the possibility of an intersex child). And the same thing for being left out of vaginal and uterine health care- even if the system wasn't directly set up to target trans people, it is used that way and kept that way regardless.

And as for being kept out of conversations? That can 100% be targeted. There are absolutely openly transphobic people who make the decision to use trans-exclusive language around pregnancy and abortion. And are you fucking kidding me with the idea that trans surgeries aren't less studied because organizations don't want to give money to support their research?

Frankly I'm tired of the idea that in Twenty Fucking Twenty Three, all transphobia transmascs experience is just the result of nobody knowing what a trans man is. Its been fucking decades since FTMs starting getting awareness, and there's a current moral panic that has transmascs as a central figure. Are you fucking kidding me? Do y'all really think nobody is out here targeting us specifically? And, on top of that, the idea that being erased means you can't be targeted is ignorant. Intersex people, from what I have read, experience something similar a lot: people not knowing what you are, you not being given the tools to know what you are, and yet you experience targeted violence for the traits of the thing nobody mentions. Hell, that's like... a ton of queerphobia? Being targeted for having the traits of an unmentionable condition? People not knowing what "gay" or "trans" is but smelling something socially unacceptable on you?

Ironically this whole thing is, imo, another example of the impact of erasure. Because erasure is fundamentally about not just the violence of being silenced, but silencing violence. Erasure puts into place the idea that transmasc invisibility is part of reality; transmasculinity is literally invisible to people. What that means is, erasure promotes the idea that transmasculinity is literally inconceivable: its just something people created one day, or its some deep hidden extremely rare thing that sometimes happens, but either way, there is no precedent for it and no preconceived ideas related to it. Of course there is no anti-transmasc violence, because when cis people see a woman trying to be a man, they have literally no preconceived ideas on this at all! Or, if that doesn't work, erasure will attribute any potential violence to misogyny and lesbophobia, squashing the idea that anything could happen as a result of "women becoming men" and the hatred around that idea.

In 2023, yeah, people do know we exist and, in fact, fearmonger about there being too many of us. Its vital that we are aware of this and realize that new forms of anti-transmasculinity will continue to take shape as we get more awareness. For example: in the past, people weren't aware of chest binding, but now you have transphobes who know to look for binders under people's shirts so they can attack transmascs.

But even without that, even before that, people don't need to know the name of something to hate it. A lot of anti-butch violence is done specifically to punish, in the minds of the attackers, a woman trying to be/act like a man/replace men; that's anti-transmasculinity*. Mothers insisting their tomboy children need to grow up and act like women? That's anti-transmasculinity. People only talk about historical transmascs who more or less lived well, but there are people who were outed and put in prisons and mental asylums and abused, and that's just the records we can find. There are articles written about the horror of a woman realizing her husband "is a woman." Steve Dain transitioned in the 1970s and was called "thing" "it", immediately seen as a sexual predator towards little girls, and had the school system do everything possible to fire him- and it worked. Those people likely had never heard of a trans man before- but they immediately reacted with disgust and targeted attacks. They didn't need to know what he was to hate him for it, because the cultural ideas that create and manage transphobia as a system are still there.

On places like tiktok and youtube shorts I have seen an increase in AI generated videos. By far the most popular genre i have is history/ historical conspiracy. How do you feel about people essentially auto generating fake history?

I mean, how I feel largely doesn't matter because I'm no one.

The problem we have with the over proliferation of memes/AI/short form content is that it discourages the viewer to seek anything deeper and with more and more people relying on this content for news/facts/entertainment.

We already know the dangers of how social media gives tiny serotonin boosts, which keep us coming back for more (see: doom scrolling, and outrage baiting), so we get addicted to only seeing things in very short bursts. Long form content, which would likely discuss things with more nuance but doesn't give a person that serotonin, boost i.e. it's boring, so people abandon it for the short form and don't read anything longer that would likely contradict the short video they saw. They implicitly trust what they see to be true, and therefore will spout that until it becomes 'fact' because of course it is they saw it on TikTok right? (see the post I reblogged yesterday where someone said 'oh there's a third shaker in a historical condiment set and no one knows what it is' in a tiktok...and...it was immediately debunked but no one on tiktok is gonna know that because they've just scrolled away for their next serotonin hit).

This goes in hand with the trend over the last decade or so of actively saying derisive things about academics (from any background) that are usually dressed up in the guise of progressive language, but is more or less the anti-intellectual rhetoric we've seen from those who'd prefer you didn't listen to academics. You know the stuff 'academics are hiding X from us', 'academics don't want you to know this', 'academics hate X group of people'. This sort of behaviour allows those who can play on your ignorance to further manipulate you by discouraging you from seeking more information because you now no longer trust the exact people who could give you the right information. It's an Us vs Them mentality, which has proved so lucrative in partisan arguments. You see it here on Tumblr all the time in the 'if you like X show you're bad an irredeemable and you must be blocked, but if you agree with me you're good and righteous'. Or the way people will treat headcanons about history as fact. Someone, way back in 2011, headcanon'd Hatshepsut as trans because they were trans themselves and they liked how she used both pronouns. I remember that post well. Somehow it morphed into 'no she's definitely trans and all those Egyptologists who are like 'hang on wait what no that's not how that works?!' are in fact terrible people who are denying you the truth and are transphobes' (yes, this is a continual fight that several Egyptologists have here and no matter how we phrase it someone claims we're covering something up and it's Frustrating). But again it's the 'you either accept our way of thinking or you're a bad person' mindset. It's all facets of the same behaviour.

So how do I feel about it? Helpless. I can try and try to get people to listen, to maybe stop and think about things for a second before they just blindly parrot it until it becomes a 'fact' that I can no longer fight without someone insulting me. But the people making this content do not care about whether it's true or not they just want the views and I cannot fight against people who wish to lie to you for the superficial boost having thousands of views on a 20 second video gives them. It is exhausting. I can't stop them from doing it, so all I can do is be prepared to sit here and write another long cited post where I have to explain that the truth is far more complicated and nuanced than you will ever get in short form content.

Im a very big proponent of lying and/or withholding information on the internet, ESPECIALLY if you belong to a marginalized group. This entire blog is about trans men and i purposely tag my posts to get as much spread as possible. This blog is not private; it's huge and very public facing. And that invites the usual bigotted assholes; transphobes, mostly terfs, weirdly a lot of the forced pregnancy crowd. Those people are dangerous in their own right with doxxing, mass reporting, and stalking irl. Thats why I keep shit vague. Sasha is not my name, is not related to my name, and is not a name i have ever gone by. My age is 21+ and that's all you get. I'm in the northeast usa, which is hugely populous but relevant to my posts about medical care which is why it doesnt just say "american." When I post pictures of my top surgery results, my face is never in them, and I censor identifying scars and tattoos.

Now personally im not uber worried about run of the mill bigots. I block preemptively. I have code in my blog that allows me to see who is viewing it, when, and where from. I feel safe enough with the precautions I take that this kind of harassment doesn't bother me.

What *does* bother me is pissbabies who dont know queer history dragging me into pointless discourse, and fandom police. These are not people I *ever* want finding my main blog. This blog is a side project- I saw a hole in the community, a lack of positivity for trans men, and I wanted to help fill it. My main is my home on the internet. I have been on that blog *for longer than some of you have been alive.* I am not risking being harassed and falsely mass reported and having my friends targeted because someone hates my opinions on fucking star wars.

This is a lesson from ye olde internet. LIE. Stop telling people your name and age and birthday and location and mental illnesses and triggers and posting selfies with recognizable locations in the background. Like for fucks sake- you do not *ever* owe anyone this information for anything. Not to be in a discord, not to participate in a fandom event, not nothing.

Stop asking people for this information, and stop providing it. You can never take it back once you do.

just seen a post by a pre-op pre-hormones pre-everything trans woman complaining about ~evil cis bitches~ crossing the road at night when they see her and i was so so so certain it was a troll/fakepost/terf shitposting/etc but it was legit and all her friends were agreeing with her, and i'm like??? this is why cis women hate us lmao, you can't get mad if you're pre-everything and it's night time and a woman assumes you're a creep in the dark. why are the worst voices always the loudest

Why did you think this was appropriate to have sent to me instead of just... blocking her and moving on? Out of all the reasons I can think of for people to be transphobic, the thought of a trans woman being upset about feeling like she's treated like a perpetrator of a crime she isn't committing or thinking about committing doesn't cross my mind. Maybe she didn't express that frustration in a way you approve of (probably because you weren't what she was thinking about, she was probably thinking about how she was feeling), but that's where blocking her comes into play. You aren't required to view that person's post or entertain their friends, nor are you required to come into a stranger's inbox to vent about it. You don't have to dedicate time to that.

Oddly enough, I don't trust that you aren't a troll trying to stoke fires, especially through anon.

every time a racist or homophobe or transphobe or anything else like that gets talked about and they've obviously been doing this shit for a while and have not been banned, i think about that one time someone sent a massive rant mad at some random commenter for saying that they don't want people they've blocked to interact with their forum posts because they only block bigots. and in the massive rant the person told them that those people get banned and staff doesn't allow those people on the site.

and it's like. bitch fucking where. where are they getting banned. all staff ever fucking does is delete their comments. they sweep them under the rug and act like they care when they fucking dont. they'll jump to smite people who made an account when they're 12 or they'll smite multis. but they leave bigots to run free.

they make all these pride ribbon vistas and they say they'll do better with their racist lore and then they let bigots keep being bigots on their site. it feels so performative and i'm so fucking frustrated at this point. i love this game so much i love playing it i love my pixel dragons but sometimes i think about how staff ignores reports since i've reported so many bigots that i've run into in the wild from the front page dragons and then i go back and check a month later and they aren't banned and they're still being openly bigoted.

and it's like. i dont ever block them because blocking does nothing in this game and i'd rather be able to see if my reports did anything, but fuck. i wish they would improve blocking. i wish they would actually ban the people spewing awful shit. i wish i didnt have to see people who would shoot me dead if they saw me irl on my little dragon site. i wish i didn't have to see "all lives matter" as a fucking blinkie gif. or see "i block people with pride vistas" in someone's bio.

"staff doesn't allow people like that on their site" yes they do. they just hastily and silently delete their comments so you dont see them. but they leave them on the site to keep generating ad revenue and to keep buying gems. and if they ever do ban them, they go "dont worry! you can remake your account :) the punishment is just that you have to start over! :)" and then the bigots come back. and they start it all over again.

im tired, guys. im really tired.

i wish staff would ban bigots, and not let them make a new account

UNDERAGE Teenagers at the Rayman fandom on twitter are making call out posts on porn accounts (some which contain graphic works) and rather than tell these teenagers they’re are far too young to be engaging with such works , antis in the fandom are instead shitting on the artists who made 18+ accounts with clear tags used for daring to draw Rayman engaging in anything more extreme than vanilla post marriage sex.

The Rayman fandom loves blaming Captain Laserhawk for the uptake in discourse/drama but the truth is for a long time the fandom has had an issue for making call outs on people just simply making porn. Apparently one artist known as Raywindly was a horrible transphobe but her entire call out was exclusively focused on her having liked rape fanfics. Said call out was written by someone who was outed for being a hentai fan.

A more recent example is one from January where an artist called radomartist made a “good pup” au where Mr Dark keeps Rayman as a sex slave. The call out on them , which feature their porn being reposted, talked about radomartist sexaulising Rayman as a child. But in the good pup au Rayman is an adult. These antis made an entire thread , reposted porn they thought was that of a child character to an audience of actual minors and didn’t even get that piece of information correct.

The antis in this fandom basically encourage this behaviour of reposting porn where MINORS can see it instead of just blocking, they encourage spreading misinformation before even doing the bare minimum of fact checking, which is going to make it so much easier for actual predators to hide in the fandom. It’d be less stressful for everyone if they just told each other in PRIVATE about artists who make stuff that makes each other uncomfortable.

“Oh but the art was illegal-“ Then why have ”illegal art” saved to your own hard drives?! And then share it?! To actual children and teenagers?!

Would you do that if those were images of an actual human child being abused?!

I’m sorry if this came across as aggressive, but it genuinely pisses me off how these people preach “protect children!” When in actuality they’re just creating an environment that’s going to push vulnerable children and teens into the arms of the very predators they’re trying to fight against.

I have blocked the antis but I feel even doing that has put a target on my back so I hope it’s okay I vented about this here.

thanks for turning on anon asks!! i dont want to get this linked back to my actual account where i try to keep things pretty discourse-free. what i wanted to say is that i really get where yr coming from with the falling into transmasc vs transfem thing??? i find myself going oh no thats a trans woman so shes not gonna like me a lot and then i feel really guilty abt it so its good to know that other transandro bloggers are aware of that whole thing. how do you keep yrself from falling into those thinking patterns?

No problem at all, anon! I understand that this can be a topic that you don't necessarily want. attention. on you. Perfectly valid to keep yourself safe.

This touches on something that I've been realizing more often for myself, though! When you are educating yourself on topics such as transandrophobia, the loud and vocal minority of transandrophobes are likely to speak up in comments and replies of posts doing so, which makes it seem like they're everywhere. Much like vocal transphobes, we must remember that this is a minority; most people may not have even heard of transandrophobia, but I'm sure they'd agree that "trans men experience oppression for being trans men that other trans people don't experience". Because that's common sense.

The other reason I find myself falling into that pattern is the centering of trans women in these transandrophobia discussions. A lot of it ends up with people arguing if transmisogyny is worse or not, and I think that misses the entire point. But if you see these transandrophobes going on and on about trans women having it worse (and some of those people being trans women themselves who are lashing out for whichever reason), you're going to start connecting transandrophobia and trans women.

Which sucks. It really fucking does. The brain is equipped to notice patterns, and it's going to emphasize in accordance to how transandrophobes emphasize.

So how do I personally stop this from happening?

I follow trans women. Feels like a no-brainer, right? But recently I realized I was not following any trans education that was run by trans women, mostly because I had been scared of researching into the blogs themselves in case I found bigotry towards trans men, and I am not in the business of digital self-harm. If anyone has any good blogs feel free to drop them here, and I'll reblog!

If I feel myself getting incensed, I step back If you find yourself getting really mad, step back and ask yourself: - Where is this anger coming from? (At transphobia or has it been construed somehow?) - Where is this anger directed? (At transandrophobes, or at trans women?) - Who has posted this? (TERF psyops do exist, and if a blog is posting inflammatory content, they might be baiting you) - Is this user in the same circle as other transandrophobes? (There was a ring of particularly nasty transandrophobes that I blocked for mocking trans men and suggesting corrective sexual assault, and I have not found as many since)

Go to irl queer spaces. While this is not going to be a solution for everyone, I find stepping offline and talking to irl trans women is beneficial. Make friends with trans people! This discourse is so terminally online, and the only reason I participate in it is because I do what I can irl and therefore my only contribution is not arguing over discourse.

I also interact with other trans men who are normal about trans women as well. I hope this helps! Media literacy is good to practice, and I'm proud of you for owning up to something very hard, anon.
