Let’s face it. Everyone in school has had a crush on Sung Hanbin at some point.
Handsome, polite, impossibly nice, infinitely patient, smart, talented, an incredible dancer, good-looking and did you mention handsome? Yes you did.
Okay. It wasn’t like you were too bad yourself seeing as you were able to get elected as his vice president. But seriously, how do people like Sung Hanbin exist?
You swear he gets a confession every week. Sometimes more than that. And you know this because you’re coming out of the council room and there the poor boy or girl stands, waiting. Usually holding something like flowers or chocolates or snacks or a little trinket or a handwritten note. One time, it was a giant stuffed hamster. You didn’t even want to know how they managed to bring that to school.
And there’s always just a second or two of awkward eye contact before you call for Hanbin. He goes out and you walk away, not wanting to intrude. Some of them take it gracefully, they thank him politely for taking the time to hear about how they feel and leave looking maybe a little shaken but unbothered. Sometimes he even receives the gift they prepared if they insist and offer it to him without any obligations. You’ve seen your fair share of criers, running past you down the hall, furiously wiping away tears. And some of them got a little crazy. But that’s a whole other story.
Which brings you back to your point. Everyone has had a crush on Sung Hanbin at some point. Some of them confess to him. They get rejected. They get over it. And you? Well you thought if you ignored your feelings enough they would gradually disappear. They didn’t.
So yes. Everyone has had a crush on Sung Hanbin at some point, you included. It’s just that you’ve never got the nerve to confess. And worse, you haven’t gotten over it.
“And these are my recommendations for the committees moving forward, any questions?”
Polite applause. No one asks questions. Hanbin takes his seat next to you as the teacher presiding over your meeting thanks all of you for your time.
“Hey,” He whispers to you. “Thanks for organising all the committee info for me.”
You had taken the time to put everything he was going to present for the meeting into flashcards and even finetuned his presentation for him.
“I’m the vice president,” you whisper back. “It’s what I’m supposed to do. Literally don’t worry about it.”
“Still,” he smiles. “You really went all out. I couldn’t have done such a good presentation without you. So thank you.”
This is precisely the reason why you still haven’t gotten over your crush on him. How is this man real??
“Let me buy you dinner,” he offers. If this was any other guy, you’d think he was asking you out. But it’s Sung Hanbin and he treats all of the council members all the time.
“I’m going out with the events committee for a planning session. And you have a dinner meeting with one of the school board members later for a possible sponsorship for the event that we’re supposed to be planning so you might want to go to that instead.”
“Right! Right, I nearly forgot. Seriously, how are you such a lifesaver?
“I do my best.” You deadpan in an effort to not blush dammit, just because you have a crush doesn’t mean you have to be such a simp. But really, it’s not good for your heart when he compliments you like that.
He trails after you as you walk out of the council room.
“Maybe dinner tomo…?” Your suggestion dies in your throat as you meet eyes with the latest in Hanbin’s long line of confessions.
She must be one of the underclassmen because you don’t recognise her right away. But she’s so aesthetically pretty, smiling so beautifully when she sees Hanbin behind you.
“I’m sorry to bother both of you but can I talk to Hanbin-oppa for one moment?” God, she’s so polite that you feel bad for disliking this. She even thanks you when you nod and step aside. You’re surprised that she addresses him so casually but Hanbin doesn’t seem to mind at all. And Hanbin, the way he’s smiling at her makes all feelings in your heart die, stone cold and shattered.
Stupid crush. You don’t know why you have it in the first place. It’s annoying and unnecessary and completely unprofessional considering how you work together.
You don’t know how long you’ve been walking down the hall when the girl skips past you, greeting you again politely and going on her way. She looks…happy. Did Hanbin accept her confession?
It bothers you. Of course it bothers you. You want to go home and burrow yourself into your bed like you always do whenever you think one of the confessions goes well. Even if it actually doesn’t. Maybe you’ll even cry a little. Or a lot. So you do. After your planning session with the events committee, that is. A little heartbreak isn’t going to stop you from being a responsible vice president.
Being under the blankets, just hiding from the world, it’s nice. You can pretend. Maybe there’s a world where Hanbin does like you back….And now you’re sad again. Maybe you should confess. At least you can cry about it one last time and be done. But at the same time, why risk ruining the friendship you and Hanbin have going? Council meetings would be horribly awkward, maybe not for him but for you.
So you do what you always do after these little pity parties. You wash your face, drink a glass of water and try to sleep. Tomorrow you’ll be fine. Or at least, you’ll look fine. Hopefully.
You’re not fine. I mean you don’t look like shit but you’re definitely just going through the motions. At least, you’re busy. There are committees to check in with, teachers to talk to, your fellow council members giving updates and you just organising everything for the next meeting.
It’s a whirlwind. You barely see Hanbin beyond class and passing him papers or messages for all the school-related matters he needs to deal with. It’s easy to sink into it. To put your feelings aside and just work. You’re the fucking vice president and you need to do your job right.
Maybe it’s beginning to wear into you, just a bit. Missed meals, lost sleep, running around school, it’s all bound to build up. So maybe you’re not that surprised when you wake up in the nurse’s office. She’s helping you sit up, giving you vitamin water to sip and scolding you for overexerting yourself. If you had been out of cold for any longer, they would have sent you straight to the hospital for an IV. She actually offers but you say you’re fine. Instead, she insists you rest until the next period and then go home for the day. You can’t. You have meetings. But apparently it’s that or the hospital so you stay put.
Hanbin comes in a little later to check on you because of course he does.
“How are you feeling?” He asks, quiet and gentle in a way that makes your chest hurt and it’s not from passing out.
“I’ve been better.”
“I was really worried, seriously.”
“You need to worry about the meeting later. Getting sent home after this so someone else will need to do my part of the presentation. Also need a replacement for the committee session I'm supposed to be checking in with.”
“I’ll take care of it, honestly don’t worry, just take care of yourself.”
“I will, I will. And you don’t need to do that, Gunwook’s been wanting more responsibilities, let him take it. Really don’t worry about me.”
Hanbin’s quiet for a moment.
“I really can’t help it. Don’t you know how much I panicked when I saw you on the floor? It’s a good thing you didn’t hit your head too hard, I-”
“I’m fine now, you really don’t need to worry.” If he acts any more concerned, you swear you might cry.
It’s quiet again.
“I can’t.”
“You can’t what?”
“I can’t not worry about you.”
You lean back on the cot, just watching him. Hanbin’s working up to something but between the slight dizziness you still have going and the fatigue that’s come crashing down, you have no idea.
“You know I really like you a lot?”
Damn, you’re definitely hallucinating.
“Really?”
“Yeah, really. I’ve been really obvious about it. I thought you noticed and just didn’t say anything because you didn’t like me and saying it would mess with the council.”
You sit up.
“Wait, you're serious?”
Hanbin looks confused, maybe a little offended.
“Do you think I’m not being serious?”
“I don’t know, okay? You literally get a confession every week.”
“And I always tell them no because I like you.”
“How about that girl the other day?”
“Oh you mean my cousin? She just wanted to see you and then tease me about it when you left.”
“...Your cousin?”
“...Yeah?”
You sigh, collapsing back onto the cot, too exhausted to react properly.
“For the record, I’ve had a fucking crush on you for like forever and I can’t believe this is happening and I’m probably going to freak out about it once I’m less tired.”
His expression goes from surprise to happiness and back to confusion but he’s definitely shuffling closer to you.
“So why didn’t you tell me?”
You look at him incredulously before letting out an even louder sigh. God, this man is going to be the death of you.
“Maybe take me out to that dinner you promised and I’ll tell you why.”
“Okay!”
There’s a very pregnant pause before he goes:
“...Sooo you do like me?”
“Yes! Oh my god, yes I like you. I like you Sung Hanbin so fucking much I’m a little mad that you’re making me say it right now”
He smiles, reaching out to take your hand in his.
“Well that’s good because I like you too.”
“...Mhmm”
“What? What else do you want me to say?”
“Oh nothing, I don’t know, I think that was a little underwhelming compared to what I thought it would be.”
And then he leans over and presses a kiss to your forehead, all shy and bashful, the audacity of this man. And he says your full name.
“I just want you to know that I like you very, very much~ and I’m glad you feel the same way~”
Fucking right, you do.

An example of reasons to block someone - yes your reason can be silly. I've blocked people for posting x reader fics, for shipping my notp, because i didn't like their AU. Not because I don't like them, or have anything against them, I just hate x reader fics in general, or didn't want to see my notp, or I just got tired of seeing their posts in a fandom tag. Rather than demanding they change, I changed how my tag looks to me. And that is responsible blocking. I also block racists, terfs, homophobes, etc. I blocked someone who was mean to me in replies. man... I'm seeing the recency bias in fanfic firsthand this weekend and I'm having mixed feelings about it. putting it under a cut because it's rambly and long.
I don't track my kudos as closely as some folks do, but I've noticed that the AO3 emails have been slowing down lately. which makes sense, as the last time I posted there was in October and I haven't been super active on tumblr lately either.
but I posed a fic yesterday and almost immediately started getting kudos on other works of mine as well – and it's super obvious why, of course: people who enjoyed the fic I'd just posted clicked on my profile to see what else I've written, and checked out my other, older fics. same thing actually happened to a lesser extent here on tumblr, with likes popping up on older posts, presumably because people found my fic masterlist via my pinned post (which includes things like ficlets that aren't on AO3, AU ideas, etc.)
on the one hand, this is awesome! this is exactly how an archive is supposed to function, after all, just like how you go to the C shelf at the library to find more books by Agatha Christie.
on the other, it's hard not to take that info and translate it into "I must continue to produce work so that my older work will get noticed, too." I must keep my name up there among the most recent posts, I must stay visible. or maybe I'm not doing a good job of self promotion; maybe I should try to circulate my own older fics more, maybe I should tag my stuff better, etc. etc.
of course this is only anxious internal pressure, and it's fairly easy to ignore. I'm not in fandom for clout or "engagement," I'm in it for fun. and that kind of thinking is the opposite of fun, so I try not to give in to it. but it's hard sometimes. I mean, I want people to read what I write, and enjoy it, and react to it. I get a lot of satisfaction and validation from others' reactions to my writing, and I'm not going to pretend that that isn't part of the reason why I post my fic!
but I'm also a slow writer, and not very prolific when it comes down to it (for a lot of reasons, ranging from ADHD to a busy real life to my mental health). and it does bum me out a little when there's such a clear difference between the number of reactions I get to my work when I've posted something recently vs when it's been a couple of months since I shared something new. the joy of getting that attention is tempered by this bittersweet, "wow... I could get that feeling even more often if I was just... better." if I wrote faster. if I posted more.
but it also drives home how important it is to circulate posts and older fics! to go past that first page on AO3, to really dive into the tags for fandoms or pairings you love and seek out some older stuff. it drives home the importance of things like rec lists and masterlists, which enable us to collect and share works that may have fallen out of view.
(and yes, it drives home for me personally that I can always be doing more to lift up my fellow writers, to reblog and comment on things I like, so everyone can get that good feeling of knowing someone enjoyed something they wrote.)
anyway. lots of thoughts and feelings over here. and I want to be clear that this is all my own personal stuff – please don't take any of this as judgement or criticism of how anyone else engages in fandom. just barfing my thoughts into the void.

Okay, I got curious about how the "lloyd shipping dynamics" pie chart got broken down since I knew there were more Lloyd ships than just those in that specific chart, so I decided to check it out for myself. Wondered if maybe they didn't have any fic on AO3, or if there was some other reason to exclude them (plenty of reasons for that depending on the type of data you wanna look at--like if you only look at pairs not trios, or if you only want to know about ships that have more that one fic and such)
I did try to do a pie chart but no matter what I did, some fics just... Never were displayed because it could only display so many entries (especially when they were tiny %) that the smallest slices just.. Got excluded. I tried.
I was also curious how it would break down if you took into account the fact that ship tags are not mutually exclusive and thus fics can have multiple ship tags on them. Why are there two sets of numbers here? The first is "the % calculated comparing the ships to the fics. The second is pure ships. Basically first being "this is what % of the fics are tagged with these ships" the second is "this is what % of the total ships each one makes up".
Anyway, the data and some extra details about what data was collected and how and such below the cut.
Basic takeaways: Colloyd, Zelloyd, and Kralloyd are the Top 3, but Lloyd gets shipped around a bit, with 10 different canonical character's he's shipped with (either via a single pairing or as part of a trio) and several OC ship fics. Popular guy!

I'd be curios how this would change if I included data from sites like FFN, honestly. Or even if I could find some old archives with ToS fic, or maybe DA, or possibly even Wattpad? Mostly because I wonder how many ships I'd find that didn't make it to AO3 (there's at least one lloyd/mithos fic on FFN, for example). However the sheer amount of work that would be to compile the data across multiple sites and try to correct for cross-posting gives me a headache just thinking about so. Lol nope, not happening.
Moving on to info about the data collection, and such...
First up, some base info on the data gathered:
481 fics total, 500 tagged ships total.
All from AO3
Data taken as of March 10th, 2023. Uh... Let's say 7am, -6GMT.
Data was gathered manually by going through AO3's entire 1,461 and manually tallying things up. (Including repeated checks to make sure no new or updated fic posting messed with stuff)
By this I mean "I had a sheet of paper and color-coded the tally marks as I went so I could check every 10 pages that I was getting everything I wanted to include and my math was adding up
(...I still have the feeling I overlooked a few but at this point I've spent way too much time on this already for an informal survey so.)
Counting by hand ensured that I didn't overlook ships for not thinking about them (Kvar/Lloyd, a few of the trio combinations).
(Fun story: I discovered that the Lloyd/Lilia tag, if you click on it, points to the Lloyd/OC tag which is incorrect. For those who don't know, Lilia is a canonical minor character from Dawn of the New World, the sequel game. In DotNW it's revealed that Lloyd proposed to her. It makes some sense in context but yes it's still weird, and yes the fandom had an understandable fuss about it at the time. Also, yes people are still annoyed by it.)
ANYWAY. Moving on from that... For a fic to be included, it needed to meet the following two criteria
Ship must be tagged in the relationships field. So adding a ship in the additional tags field would not get it counted.
Ship was a romantic and/or sexual pairing.
Some additional notes on that:
Ship was marked as implied, mentioned, or any other indication it was not a major focus but was still tagged in the relationship field: included
Ship was indicated as one-sided: included
Ship included a ship event (e.g. a ship week) but did not include a ship tag in the relationship field: excluded
Additional tags made it ambiguous if the author intended for a fic to be considered romantic, sexual, familial, and/or platonic: excluded
Furthermore, no fic was excluded due to content--so you have the fluff-fests and the fucked up darkfic all included in the above data.
Honestly if I were to do something like this again I did learn several things that would make it go smoother, but at this point I have spent over 30 hours over the last... IDK, 2.5 days or so? on what started as idle curiosity because my brain got locked into an obsession spiral and refused to let me drop it so I'm not going to go through and try to do this again anytime soon. At least not unless it's for a fandom with a hell of a lot less fic lol.
Anyway, based on my own data stuff I assume that OP of the pie chart actually used ships for their sample size, not fics because that was the only way I was able to get close to reproducing their results when looking at those ships only? Not something that matters much in this case, however--they did their math based on ships and it all checked out so.

I've heard that it's characterization and sense of humour. Unless I am gutting people, then it's the atmosphere?

Repetitions. Commas. Forgetting where the hell my characters are sitting. Ignoring the fact that they should eat at some point.

Disabling Specific Minecraft Mobs (in Java)
There was a great post about disabling spiders in Minecraft a few days ago and in the notes people kept asking about disabling other mobs too, so I thought I’d make my own post summing up at least some of the resources, starting with the easy ones:
Phantoms:
You can do this with a vanilla command! All you need to do is to enable cheats when you create your world and then run this:
/gamerule doInsomnia false
insomnia is the effect that triggers phantom spawns when you don’t sleep.
Warden:
Same as phantoms! You can use a command!
/gamerule doWardenSpawning false
Other Mobs:
Someone suggested the Bad Mobs mod at CurseForge. I haven’t tried this myself but it looks legit?
If you don’t want to use a mod, there’s the datapack option, and I’m gonna put a cut here because I’m just gonna teach you how to make the datapack yourself based on your own needs. (I promise you, this method is super easy, and you’ll feel so fancy after making your own datapack)
(Some already exist btw, try searching on Planet Minecraft first)
I’ll also include some extra tips at the end that you might wanna check out either way, even if you don’t want to use a datapack.
[Disclaimer: I’m not an expert, I might get things wrong. I have successfully made all these things that I’m describing here, though, so I hope I know enough.]
@chu-likes-minecraft made a handy no spiders datapack which can easily be edited to apply to other mobs. The datapack is on Planet Minecraft (I would link to it but sometimes posts with links don’t show up in tags. It’s very easy to find, though, just search for “no spiders” and you should find a datapack from a user called Chu03.)
You can just download the datapack, unpack it, then go down the folders like so: data > ns > functions and open the file named “tick“.
It should look like this:
Look up the ID of the mob(s) that you want to get rid of. You can find this info on the Minecraft wiki. Usually it’s pretty obvious but it doesn’t hurt to check.
If it’s just a single specific type of mob that has no other variants, you can delete all the code in the file and replace it with this:
execute as @a at @s if entity @e[type=MOB_ID_HERE,distance=0..50] run tp @e[type=MOB_ID_HERE] 0 -65 0
Replace “MOB_ID_HERE” with the ID of the mob you want to remove! Bolding is just for emphasis obviously. Note that I changed “tag“ to “type“.
(The reason why this is so much simpler is because you don’t need a tag when you’re only targetting one type of mob, you can just target it directly. But if you want to target multiple mobs, using a tag is more efficient)
If there are multiple variants of the mob you don’t like or if you want to target multiple kinds of mobs, you can use Chu’s original spider code as is and just replace the spider and cave spider with your mobs, and come up with a new collective tag for those mobs. Let’s say you wanna get rid of endermites and silverfish because you don’t like creepy crawlies; this should work:
tag @e[type=endermite] add creepy_crawlies
tag @e[type=silverfish] add creepy_crawlies
execute as @a at @s if entity @e[tag=creepy_crawlies,distance=0..50] run tp @e[tag=creepy_crawlies] 0 -65 0
Wanna also get rid of bees? Just add bees to the “creepy_crawlies” tag like this:
tag @e[type=endermite] add creepy_crawlies
tag @e[type=silverfish] add creepy_crawlies
tag @e[type=bee] add creepy_crawlies
execute as @a at @s if entity @e[tag=creepy_crawlies,distance=0..50] run tp @e[tag=creepy_crawlies] 0 -65 0
I’m pretty sure you can use any wording that isn’t an already existing tag in Minecraft? (Although sometimes you might actually want to just use the existing tag instead, just make sure you know what it includes.)
Once you’re ready, just save the file. You don’t have to worry about any of the other files in the pack, just leave them the way they are. Go back up the folders until you get to the level that has the “data“ folder and the “pack“ file and then just repack the pack into a .zip and give it a new name. Make sure you’re packing the “data“ folder and the “pack“ file, not a folder above them. If you unpacked the original datapack into a folder, don’t include that folder in your pack.
Image to clarify:
(You don’t have to use 7-Zip, any equivalent program is fine. #NotSponsored)
Your datapack is now ready. I recommend testing it in a test world first to make sure it works. You can just give yourself the spawn egg in creative and try spawning the mobs and if the pack is working they should immediately disappear as you spawn them in.
If they don’t, try the command /reload. If it still doesn’t work, save and quit to title, then open the world again. If it still doesn’t work, check the pack itself to see if you did everything correctly. Compare to the original no spiders pack to see if you accidentally did something differently.
BONUS: you can also edit the “pack“ file to include your own name in the credits along with Chu’s, but this is not necessary.
Other packs that have already been made and can be found on Planet Minecraft: no zombies, no drowned, no skeletons, no wither skeletons.
Also yes, I did actually make the no endermites/silverfish one because I had to double check that the code I pasted here actually worked so I uploaded that on Planet Minecraft too.
Some extra tips:
If you remove spiders, I recommend adding a custom crafting datapack that allows you to turn wool into string. You can download one from Vanilla Tweaks for example. vanillatweaks (dot) net -> crafting tweaks.
There are also websites that allow you to make your own custom crafting datapacks. One that I’ve used and that is up to date as of version 1.18 is thedestruc7i0n (dot) ca (choose the “crafting” button)
With custom crafting packs you can add your own preferred way to get the resources that you’re missing out on. (This is also handy for people who just don’t want to murder a specific kind of mob, like if you really love cows and don’t wanna kill them you can make a custom recipe for leather. Although in that specific case, Vanilla Tweaks already has a datapack for smelting rotten flesh into leather which I recommend.)
Vanilla Tweaks also has a custom villager pack under “datapacks“ which allows you to spawn in a custom villager to trade with, who you can have selling the items you need.
Another option is to edit loot tables to get that drop in some other way. A tool I’ve used for this before is at amaury (dot) carrade (dot) eu / minecraft / loot_tables (this one is a bit complicated but it’s useful! Just take your time figuring it out.)

Lowkey hate myself for getting obsessed with hkr and renheng. The amount of people who misunderstand lore or that the characters in question have an insane amount of MEMORY LOSS. Also, why are hoyo fans so obsessed with hating on queer ships and spreading bs about them, like bro chill it's just a game and we're all gay fuckers who like to see other gay fuckers in love. It's fiction, seriously who the fuck cares lmao.
Some of yall are just homophobes in disguise who hate any sort of gayness even when it's implied or just theorized. Meanwhile hoyo is trying desperately to get past the censorship and hide the gay while also shoving it down our throats lol. (Aka that typo stuff or whatever. Idk what happened there but why's that your first thought...?)
Ughhh I really need to delete tiktok, I can feel my brain losing cells at a rapid speed. I type renheng and 7/10 videos are just hate. Like bruh don't use the fucking tag you absolute bitches.

I genuinely don't understand why people are so fixated on hating ships that are 'toxic'. Sure happy good queer ship representation is important. But like, to be brutally honest, I prefer angst and complex, complicated dynamics. Just let us have both, no need to insist that everyone be the pinnacle of morality. That's boring lol. Sure h*artstopper is amazing, but also fucking love h*nnibal too. Imo these the same bitches that want to censor ao3. Let the gays have their toxic shit too, not everyone wants straight fluff.
Also. Hsr is pretty dark when you think about it. At least, from the perspective of someone who only has general knowledge of g*nshin i*pact and just reads funeral man x foxy dude ao3 fics, I was not expecting the deaths of actual people. Like the xianzhou arc had probably the highest body count, with scenes of people literally taking their last breath and not just in the actual gaming part. It's gonna be a bit dark babes.
This goes for jingyuan too. Like i saw someone comment that they're upset he was sorta manipulative during the dragon arc thing. And um sure, but also bros an old ass general who also looks into the future with the divine something. But main point. GENERAL. Sorta his job babes. Mans not going to be some 1D soft uwuu boy. But he's also impartial where he can and perhaps shouldn't be. Tbh hoyo fans should be happy at how complex these characters are.
Sidenote. I find that I cannot stand watching people play games anymore. Like wdym you're talking over the damn cut scene that's significant and/or looking away. Bruh, this isn't a pure battle game, it's heavy on the story so where the fuck is your goddamn attention. Talking bs like oh idk what's going on but they don't read the dialogue, check out the databank/bookshelf, watch the short videos hoyo puts out, or even, just even FUCKING EXPLORE. Some ass I watched just walked straight past vital info, running their goddamn mouth and was then like, broo I'm so confused what's going on?!? Genuinely, if not for the story, then why are you playing? The combat is fun, sure, but it's not like the most riveting thing ever, so why do people not pay attention????
I feel faint oof.
I don't even care if renheng isn't canon and we're all fucking delusional. I'm just annoyed for a varied number of reasons that are triggered everytime I open the devil app that is tiktok...also I feel sorta sad for spoiling 1.3 for myself but also half of it was already spoiled because of tumblr+tiktok having spoilers like the fucking devil himself and also also i feel better/insane that i know like 75% of what's going on.

I was thinking about doing one of the girls but Anya would Not do this, Heather would lie and Pip couldn't sit still long enough. So Dean it is, he would have zero time during the game events to do an interview so I did this pre-reaping when he started working at the jail, Staci interrogation moment.
Staci slaps a tape recorder down in front of Dean, obstructing the report he's been signing as he rolls his chair in front of the junior deputy's desk. He has shades sitting precariously on the bridge of his nose and toothpick hanging from his teeth, looking like every cliché deputy from a country movie ever.
"What're you doin' Pratt?"
"Mandatory rookie interview." Staci pushes his shades up and reaches over the desk to press the record button, Dean setting his pen down as he realises he wasn't getting back to his report anytime soon.
"I'm gonna ask you some questions and you're gonna answer 'em, got it?" Staci crosses his arms over the back of his chair, pointing his index finger at the bemused brunette.
"Ignore him rook, he does this every time we get a newbie." Joey comments as she walks past, rolling her eyes as Staci waves her off with a dismissive hand. Dean checks his watch and shrugs.
"You know what, goin' home in thirty minutes. Shoot."

Not one of you fuckers is even a little subtle, and that is only one of the reasons NONE OF YOU is going to be my god damned SIC when we're back in action. But no, I'm not dealing with kids, because the "attraction" I'm working at is dangerous enough to be adults only, health questionnaires and waivers, all the fucking hoops. I don't do that part, but it makes my life significantly less shitty than it could be if I had to try to teach fucking snot nosed brats and adventure seeking grannies this stuff. Most of them are fairly fit, really.
Actually, one today was EXTREMELY fit, in a way that made helping with her equipment damn fun, if ya know what I mean. Picked up the training really well too, definitely a job perk of a customer.
Doubt I'll get too many like that, though, so make sure you lazy fucks get on your PT so I can get out of this place.

Glad to know we won't be broken up, and that this assignment will end at least for me. (No promises for the operation as a whole, as no one even knows what the objective is.)
In other news, I got to check out the new attraction and it's actually fantastic. Without too much identifying info, it's the kind of thing that is just stress and danger if it comes up in the course of a mission, but they've made it feel just dangerous enough to be an accomplishment and make the gorgeous payoff even better.
Speaking of gorgeous, my training did not come from a college student, but an extremely professional but friendly grownup who obviously had years of practical experience. A+ gear up experience, will be hoping for the same crew next time. And there will definitely be a next time.
Decided to leave my bet on the money laundering since the cancellation penalty they've worked out is too high to be worth changing it, but I'm considering some side bets on specific people's involvement in WHATEVER. Will keep you updated.

hello, im oliver, or v for short. i am 20 years old, bodily. im an artist, a dog, and the host of a system.
ive got bpd, hpd, dpd, and schizophrenia, all of which, of course, affect the system. my biggest psychotic symptom is that of clinical lycanthropy and cynanthropy, which you will see reflected often on this blog (especially under the tag #clinical zoanthropy). i cant effectively be reality checked, at least in this regard, so dont even try it. more info on this under the cut. :]
im very into social justice, mogai/liom, art, and general fandom stuff
i now have a somewhat stable home, but i still take donations, as i lost my job last month and currently have no way to make any money besides commissions and donations. i work hard every day applying to every job i can possibly find, following up on applications, and getting interviews, but that does not fund the cost of living in the meantime. im working to put up a commissions carrd (that will also function as a mini portfolio), though i will still be taking commissions before the carrd is finalized. i havent had a meal in a week, so i could really use the money, if anyone is willing to help.

for more zoanthropy info: my body can morph and change to become more canine-like, and it can go through certain stages. human-> boy with canine features -> full canine (with the regular animal anatomy) or werecanine (more like a hollywood werewolf) and my transformations can cause pain and discomfort, though i mostly just feel fur sprouting and my organs shifting. my mind is that of a humans, however my soul and dna are that of a canines.
i dont really know what a p-shifter is, but i guess you could call me one? i dont think shifting is something you can learn anyways and i cant control it, so i feel like most people either can or cant shift. theres always exceptions to the rule, however, not that i would be teaching anyone how, especially because that seems like a dangerous move for all involved parties. plus, i dont even know how i do it, i just do, so id be useless for that.
i dont know what the deal is and why i am both a wolf and a dog, and my identity as a whole is definitely more dog, all i know is that its me. thats why i use canine instead of specific dog or wolf when speaking generally, because "dog or wolf" is a mouthful.
i dont identify with the word human, but its easier to explain that way. i am more a person. my brain is and stays that of a sentient, sapient person living in a human society. im culturally human, you could say.
rarely, ill have short-ish bouts where i am a different animal, usually on top of being a canine, which confuses me, but i choose to go with the flow about it. if i think too too much about it, im afraid ill confuse myself more than just suddenly becoming a lagothrope/kounanthrope (family including rabbits, bunnies, hares) and accepting it until its over. i dont know what those little bouts are about, and i kinda dont wanna know!
i identify with my diagnosed clinical label simply because i experience a lot of double bookkeeping (i believe thats what its called). im aware of myself in some ways, and see how others see me alongside how i see myself. this is also exactly why reality checking doesnt work on me. i am aware of my symptoms, and i believe the delusions and semi-rare hallucinations that act as proof of my true self. my experience is constant clashing in that way, like i can see more than everyone else, but it rarely causes a problem, and so i go with it. no use fighting it. im a lazy dog, if youll forgive the pun.

Hello!! Im not sure if youve made a fallow up post or if this is now irrelevant to you and your blog now or anything but I was scrolling around the rat care tag and saw your post about cages and LOVED it!! Ive always had a deep love for rat and finally im in a space to get some of my own and I was so interested and excited by bio-active enclosures that you mentioned! Do you have any advice or resources about them or more to say about them??

I have to preface this with all my knowledge on bioactive setups is that based on research I've done, and I've done a lot of research but I haven't yet made the switch to bioactive myself but I hope to soon. If you want advice from people who've already gone through the process, the naturalistic and bioactive rat setup group on Facebook is an amazing source of info and advice.
So from my understanding of it, it's best to do with a large cage like a critter nation, with either a custom acrylic base or with one of those home Depot cement mixing tubs in the base. Other large cages may be available that will also work, depending on your location, but this is from the perspective of someone based in the US.
The substrate is usually comprised of a mix of something like coco fiber and top soil, but ofc make sure the top soil is pesticide free and pest free. You want to have a good balance of moisture in the substrate, enough that it's not dry and irritating their respiratory systems, and not too wet to where mold will develop. Turning the substrate over every few days or so, or when you spot clean is really good for preventing mold. Also that brings me to a CUC, you need a CUC for it to be bioactive in the first place. Some clean up crews will actually eat mold, and keep that in check as well. I see people mainly recommend springtails for rats, and also pill bugs, but I hear rats will eat pill bugs, or really any critters over a certain size. Another reason why springtails are good choice, they're mostly small enough to go unbothered by the rats.
You'll need to keep a colony of your cuc of choice and may have to add more to the setup every so often. A large part of a bioactive enclosure is balance, balance between the amount of rats you have and the amount of waste they're outputting, the amount of CUC you have, the amount of soil to coco fiber, amount of moisture.
I hear it can take some trial and error to get it right, and often it won't be 100% bioactive, you will probably still need to spot clean. There is some debate on if you need to change the soil out with a bioactive enclosure, some saying if it's a good enough setup it shouldn't need to be changed and others saying it needs to be changed every six months to a year. I personally don't have the experience to say, but at the very least it's much less upkeep once you getting it going than say changing wood bedding every two weeks, but it can be very expensive to first start up.
Other than that, how often you reconstitute moisture into the substrate will depend on the time of year, your climate and local humidity. People often add other things to the substrate mixture, like peat moss to help the soil retain shape and moisture so your rats can dig and tunnel.

⭐️️ Are you planning to turn the game into a Visual Novel?
Yup, but ideally I want to finish Volume 1 first. It’s still very much in the early stages, so I will keep updating the Dashingdon demo for now. Stay tuned for more updates!
Edit: After I finish the missing scenes in Chapter 5, I'm heavily considering beginning development on the VN. Depending on how well that goes, I may or may not finish the rest of Volume 1 in ChoiceScript.
⭐️️ What is “In Auctorem Credimus”?
In Auctorem Credimus (IAC) is a "sidquel" short story I made for the Interact-IF game jam, which won 1st Place in the Story and Plot Category! Please note that it contains very heavy spoilers for DDWCaPH! (Volumes 1 to 4) and is told from an adult's perspective.
If you're getting a little impatient with exploring the story worlds, or are curious to know what you can expect later in the story, you can play In Auctorem Credimus here! (Please note that I plan to polish and update IAC in the future!)
⭐️️ How long will the game be?
The current outline for DDWCaPH! is planned to have at least 6 volumes (one for each story world). There will be more than 6 volumes, I just haven't planned them out yet!
Volume 1 is currently planned to have 8 chapters, with Chapter 6 split into two big branches.
⭐️️ When will the adventure start happening?
The fieldtrip will begin in Volume 1 Chapter 7, while the actual story world exploration starts in Volume 2.
⭐️️ Can I make fanart/fanfiction?

II. MC and MC's Twin
⭐️️ Can the MC be older than 12?
The MC will turn 13 during Volume 6, and you may be able to play as an older MC in later volumes. I already aged the MC up from eight years old—twelve is the highest starting age I can set the MC.
If you want to play as a teenager, there are plenty of other games where you can play as one. If playing as a child makes you uncomfortable, this isn’t the story for you.
⭐️️ Will there be a sequel where the twins are in their teens/adulthood?
Yes! Currently I have no concrete plans for the story past Volume 6, but I am definitely interested in writing the kids as grownups in the future. Check out this old ask for more info about the kids as grown ups.
⭐️️ Can the twins be identical?
I'm sorry, but the twins being fraternal is relevant to the plot (for the same reason why they have different eye and hair colors), and the story wouldn't work anymore if that were the case.
I also find the dynamic of fraternal twins more interesting to write, and identical ones are a little over-represented in my opinion.
⭐️ Is the MC a Filipino?
Yes. However, there is a choice in the prologue where you can choose if they are half-Filipino.
The country MC's father is from isn't relevant to the story, so you can freely headcanon where he's from.
⭐️️ Can I play as the MC’s Twin?
Right now there aren’t any plans where you can actually play as your twin, but there might be scenes in the future where the POV will be from your twin (or another character) with very limited choices.
⭐️️ Can I headcanon X or Y?
Most likely! I don't have a problem with most headcanons, as long as they don't actively contradict anything major—there's no way for me to accommodate that. I also try to keep some choices general enough to leave some room for headcanons.
Feel free to let me know what your headcanons for your twins are!
III. Crush Options
⭐️️ Who are the crush options?
The available crush options are currently: Wayne, Roselyna, JM, Lily, Brandon/Beatrice, Cordelia, and Chamyrrha. At least two more crush options will be revealed later.
If puppy love is not your thing, each character has a friendship route which has similar scenes, so you won’t miss out on anything.
You can check the character page to learn more about them! (Click here for a mobile friendly version) More information can be found in the MC’s diary in-game, with additional secrets unlocked if you choose them as your bestfriend.
⭐️️ When will we meet the other crush options?
You will meet Cordelia in Volume 2, and Chamyrrha in Volume 5, while the other two unrevealed crush options will be in Volume 4 (although one of them might appear in Volume 3 instead).
Please note that due to their nature, the side characters will appear later in the story and you won’t be able to meet them again until Volume 6.
These are the only ones planned for now, there might be changes or new ones later in development!
⭐️️ Can I have a crush on more than one character?
Yup! However, you can only confess and have one “mutual crush” at a time. You can find more information about how mutual crushes work on this post.
I’m not comfortable with anything poly-related with a young MC, but the concept will be explored in one of the story worlds!
⭐️️ If I don’t have high Charm or the [Romantic] trait, am I locked out of having a crush?
Nope! You’re not locked out of having a crush as long as you don’t have the [Not Interested] or [Cootiephobe] Traits. The [Romantic] Trait just unlocks special interactions.
You will be able to change these traits in later volumes.
⭐️️ Will the MC’s Twin have any crushes?
Probably not. It just further complicates things with the MC, and it doesn’t really add anything thematically.
If the twin has the heart locket, they might have a crush on a minor side character, but I probably won’t focus on it.
IV. Choices
⭐️️ Why are some of the choices grayed out?
This most likely means you didn’t meet the requirement, but choices that are marked with "🚫" are actually a part of the MC’s thoughts, and are intentionally unpickable. You can’t decline the first quest, for example.
⭐️️ Why do my twin and I have different dream job/class choices?
The suggested classes are based on your birthday wish and favorite genre, while your twin is based on the locket shape they are wearing. If none of the classes fit your characters, you can type in whatever job/class you want! This also has the benefit of letting you choosing the stat bonuses.
⭐️️ Is there a guide on how to get the achievements and where to find the secrets and trinkets?
Most of the achievements can’t be achieved yet, but for now, check out the Trinkets and Secrets Guide!
⭐️️ How do the personality stats work?

hello! i want to start making gifs, but i don't really know where to start. what are some programs you use and any tips?
hello hello ! ah amazing we can always use more content creators <3 i'll try to point you in the right direction to get started ! under the cut bc it's long:
⏤ my first app recommendation is 4k video downloader which will let you download videos in their highest quality from youtube. i recommend starting with content like music videos as they are usually available in 1080p (the minimum high quality you want - anything less and it can be really tough to get your gifs looking smooth) and up to 4k (pretty much the best quality you'll get), and it's easy to pick out shots you like to start messing around.
⏤ when i was first learning to gif, the only other app i used was photoshop. i started with a free trial to see if i would get the hang of it and now i pay for a monthly adobe subscription, but there are definitely cracked versions out there for download - you just have to find them (check the links at the bottom of this post) 👀
i honestly don't remember what tutorial specifically i followed to get the steps down, but here is one and here is another i found with a quick search that i think are good for a beginner. if those don't work for you, you can google "how to make gifs in photoshop" and you'll be able to find a ton and choose one that suits your learning style (i prefer written step-by-step, but if videos are easier for you, there are a lot of choices out there).
⏤ as far as coloring goes, it'll take time to figure out using adjustment layers and your own style. i really like this tutorial on how selective color works and remember using it when i was first starting. that same blog has a lot of other giffing resources you can look through, too: all ps tutorials
⏤ once i had the hang of just using ps, i learned how to use vapoursynth which is a python script program that will help you resize your gifs and keep them looping smoothly. it also can denoise and sharpen your gifs if you want. the reason i don't recommend starting with it is because i think it looks overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's simple to use and makes a big difference especially when it comes to cropping. ultimately it's totally up to you if you want to try and learn it all up front or not.
this guide has all the information you'll need to install it depending on operating system, and also has guides for how to use it. it is MUCH harder to set up on a mac than windows, especially new macs, just fyi. if you are planning to gif ts files (for stage performance sets) you will need vapoursynth imo, but otherwise it's not at all a necessity, just a recommendation. i also used this tutorial to help me learn to use it.
general tumblr tips i wish i knew starting out:
⏤ the appropriate sizing for gifs on tumblr is as follows: your width should be 540px for one gif in a row, 268-268px for 2 gifs in a row, and 177-178-177px for a row of 3 (middle has to be 178 or it'll be blurry. i have no idea why. this site is insane). your length can be whatever you want but certain things just look better & if you aren't resizing in VS, then you're at the mercy of your videos dimensions when it comes to cropping them down.
⏤ the mb limit for gifs is 10 but if you're using beta post editor it's actually 9.5, and tumblr will compress the heck out of your gifs that are larger than 5mb, so just keep that in mind, i recommend only make bigger gifs with SUPER high quality videos.

hello, folks! this blog ain't dead!
it has been six whole ass years since i last posted anything to this blog. (jesus christ time is fake.) i got distracted by life before too long back then, but it was a lot of fun while i was running it and also honestly fucking hilarious.
fast forward to now, when i've been rereading the series on a nostalgia kick, and have proper access to ebooks of the first series with a search function to get around, instead of relying solely on what i can find manually flipping around the physical copies. at first i was mostly just content with rolling my eyes at the random worldbuilding and so on inconsistencies, pick and choose which ones i wanted to roll with, combine, or discard. it's mostly pretty simple, and not very difficult to do; it's not a numbers game or anything.
but then i started to get into the timeline stuff. first for the purposes of figuring out characterization dynamics and whatnot; then out of morbid curiosity; and now out of sheer grim determination just to figure out how extensive the inconsistencies are. (and, well, to decide what version of a Fixed Timeline i would want to use in my own writing. and also because this is the kind of thing that's fun for my pedantic ass.) point is, i'm going in with the intent of figuring out what we've been presented with in the series itself.
and, dear reader: what a fucking mess.
i've been trying to figure it out on my own in private; but the upfuck is so fractal, and involves enough estimation and pinning down small details, that it is genuinely difficult to keep track of everything. so! i'm resurrecting this blog. i could just use my main fandom blog, @angorwhosebabyisthis, but honestly there's So Much it would drown out all the other meta and whatnot there for LL alone, much less other fandoms. this blog already exists, so i figured, hey, why not?
on top of that, if you think you've caught a mistake or a piece of info, you're welcome to send it in! i'll check it to verify--whether that it's factually stated without contradictions, or stated with contradictions, or is neither confirmed nor denied but is a reasonable estimate by the standards i'm using--and if it holds up i'll add it to any masterposts with credit.
(no offense if i don't add it! i just want to try to keep things as clear as i can for my own sanity, because this series--in particular its timeline--is already such an absolute headache to figure out.)
i'm going to keep some masterposts/threads; so far the main ones i have planned are a post laying out the standards and assumptions i'm going to be using, a single timeline post to keep track of everything as the information currently stands, and an ongoing thread of updates to keep a record of previous changes. i'm going to be feeling my way around the format as i go, but i'm going to do my best to figure it out. i'm also going to be trying to use organizational tags that won't show up in the public tags, in the interests of not spamming them.
