Okay, so I know I said MC can only have one mutual crush... but after thinking about it, I'm considering making an exception, and adding a triad "poly-crush" option between Wayne, Cham, and MC.
If this is something you're not interested in, I want to make it clear that this is just an option—having a crush on Wayne will NOT automatically make the triad a thing. He will not even get the idea unless MC suggests it as a possibility.
So why am I considering adding this option?
I don't remember if I mentioned this before, but if your MC doesn't get into a mutual crush with Wayne by the start of Volume 5, then Wayne and Cham will "get together" in Volume 6, because that's what happens in the original version of my novel before I made it an IF. Their ship name is actually Champayne, hehe. 🥂
If you're someone who dislikes pursuing ROs who gets together with someone else if you're not pursuing them (thinking that your MC is only getting in the way), I figured adding this option will somewhat alleviate that issue.
Now, MC having a mutual crush on Wayne won't prevent his attraction to Cham (especially because it's not even an official relationship with MC yet), but because of their unusual circumstances, Wayne will be just as happy being with MC. So yes, Wayne will not even get the idea, unless MC develops a crush on Cham too and suggests the possibilty of a poly-relationship (MC only gets the idea because the group encounters a polygamous family in Volume 2).
Which brings me to my next point: A minor issue I have with Cham as a crush option, is that she is fairly similar to Wayne, personality-wise (if Wayne was oblivious rather than flirty). Now that's not exactly a problem, but I figured: if you like Wayne, then it's very likely that you will like Cham as well—which should make the poly option feel more natural.
Of course, Wayne will be very receptive to the idea. When you finally get the mutual crush talk with Wayne, he'll actually tell MC that he won't get mad or jealous if MC shows attraction to someone else. MC will get the choice too if they're okay with Wayne teasing and (non-seriously) play-flirting with others, but if not, Wayne will try to honor MC's wishes, and the triad option will not appear at all.
This might be a bit of a spoiler regarding Wayne's parents, but I think it's important to mention that both Nestor and Mary would be totally supportive of the idea (yes, Mary too, but not for the reasons you're probably thinking), so you don't have to worry about that.
Finally, the last reason for me adding this option is... I just think it's fun to write. 😄 Cham is just fun to write in general, and I hate that she doesn't appear in the story for a long time.
Now, the jury's still out on whether Cham will stay as a stand-alone crush option, but that really depends on how popular Cham is, and I have no real way of gauging that when you don't even meet Cham until Volume 5.
Will there be more poly-crush options in the future? Most likely not. The only reason I even considered this as an option is because Wayne and Cham are the perfect candidates for it, and I don't see any other combination of crush options working out.
It's still a very long time before I can actually make this happen, but if this is something you're interested in, please let me know your thoughts! 😊

Hello again! Sorry for the radio silence, I just came back from a week-long trip to my home province. I was staying on a farm so I barely had internet access.
I did bring a laptop so I was able to make progress, but I still can't say when the update will be done, since I keep adding new stuff. I've managed to whittle down my to-do list so it's no longer overwhelming, at least.
Anyway, I've got quite a few new developments too—I came up with a better idea for how I'm going to write Chapter 8, so that the climax feels more like a proper fieldtrip despite all the chaos in the chapter. I never thought I'd ever touch alt-history in my writing. 😅
I'm also considering adding a triad "poly-crush" option, but I'll share more details regarding that once I've recovered from my trip! 😛

How tall are the crush options + paddy? And around how tall is mc and twin (for all heights)?

The character page (mobile-friendly link) should give you a good estimate of everyone's heights in relation to each other! It's probably not an accurate representation to their actual heights though since I drew them without a specific height in mind, but that's something I'll fix in the future.
For Kuya/Ate Paddy, I mentioned in Chapter 4 that they are exactly 6 feet, while in Chapter 2, I mentioned that Wayne just reached 4 feet recently. Roselyna's only around an inch taller than Wayne, but she likes teasing him about it anyway.
I'm not sure how tall Lily should be exactly, but she's probably around 5 and a half feet. I'm thinking JM is in the middle point between Roselyna and Lily's heights, while Brandon/Beatrice is maybe a couple or so inches taller than JM. Keep in mind that Lily is 13, while JM just turned 11 (two weeks ago when the story starts).
Cordelia is around B's height, while Cham's default height is around Lily's height (though Cham can easily change her own appearance).
MC and Twin are basically the same height (with maybe a one or two centimeter difference depending on your choice). Short MC is around a couple inches taller than Roselyna, Goldilocks Height MC is just as tall as JM, while Tall MC is around a couple or so inches shorter than Lily.
So from shortest to tallest:
Wayne < Roselyna < Short MC < JM = Goldilocks Height MC < Brandon/Beatrice = Cordelia < Tall MC < Lily = Cham < Kuya/Ate Paddy
As a bonus, in the next update I'm also mentioning that Mary is 6'9", while Nestor is probably around 5'1". 😄

Hey....so i'm back again (i'm anon who ask you about MC carry Rosie at the end) sorry if i being grumpy
So this time my other MC who is tall and average build try to run after Rosie at the end but she don't be there just in time. I try so hard to play MC but she still can't run after Rosie and for some reason her grace just 26% and ber grace and knowledge just random lower for no reason i don't know what to do anymore and i going to cry now (sorry for being dramatic)
Also it that option for MC to wear a hat? I want my little guy (my small MC) to wear his hat, i headcanon his big sister (star twin) buy it for him so he wear it anytime.

Sorry if you're having trouble with it, but the achievement for saving Roselyna is supposed to be hard to get, as you're not actually supposed to save her. Even if you do manage to save her, you still get the bus choice (as the bus will now head towards Wayne and Paddy instead).
Like I said, it might be a little easier to save Rosie in the next update because of the new traits. And if you've finished a playthrough, please send me your playthrough codes via the survey! The game is still a work-in-progress, and the codes you send will help me balance and determine the appropriate difficulty for the stat checks.
Anyway, that seems like a fun thing to headcanon! Unfortunately, I can't promise I'll add anything like that, especially because I will be turning DDWCaPH! into a visual novel. There is a TON of customization stuff to draw already, and if I add one hat, I also need to include other types of hats, and then I'll have to comb through and edit all the chapters just to include that one line where the hat gets mentioned.
I could simply just add it to the list of accessories, but there's a lot of other things to consider: Does MC take it off whenever they go indoors? What would the characters say when they see it? Does it get blown off by the wind? What happens to the hat in the scene where MC faints? It's a whole new layer of customization that I am not willing to deal with.
I'm sorry for the ramble, but I'd rather not add an option, than add it but never mention it again. I hope you understand. 😅

Nope, sorry! MC's appearance is tied to a plot point later, but it's not exactly set in stone so there's a chance that I might change it later.

To lift Roselyna up, you need at least 42 Vigor. I'm not sure if that's possible currently with a short/slender MC, but in the next update, you will be able to choose the new Ancestry and Heritage Traits, in addition to the new Souvenir Trinkets, so it'll probably be much easier to carry Rosie in the next update!

Nope, not really. I usually just call them MC and Twin. Not even MC's Dad has a "canon" name. Only Maggie does.
Technically the original twins were Wayne and Roselyna (back when I was still writing the story as a traditional novel), but they are entirely different characters now with a totally different backstory.

I finally finished writing the branching choice for JM's sleepover. It's not the actual branch itself, but there's three or so variations of the scene according to your traits/choices and I need to account for that in the following scenes, so it took quite a bit. Especially because I got sick once again, but that's par for the course.
Unfortunately, it looks like the update will take a bit longer. I'd post a preview of the scene, but I failed a Grace check last night and I slipped and fell on the floor. 😣 I'm mostly fine but my arm hurts quite a bit.

Okay, I'll be honest. I actually kinda wanna skip writing Chapter 6. 😅 Don't get me wrong, I still like the slice of life stuff, but I'm in a bit of a burnout, and let's be honest, the last two chapters are just waaay more fun and exciting. It's been a while since I wrote anything fantasy.
Chapter 5 isn't done yet technically, but I think I'll work on a detailed outline for Chapters 6-8 to have a better idea of how long they'll be.
Chapter 6 might not actually be as long as I'm thinking, but what do you guys think about the

Change of Plans?
Hello everyone. I know I said I'll start posting more random stuff (I still have a bunch of previews I haven't shared yet), but I haven't really been doing that as much as I would've liked.
So instead of trying to force myself to do that, I'll probably be less active for now until I get some IRL stuff sorted out (although I'll still be around on the Discord).
Right now, my goal is to release the next update as soon as it's reasonable. It won't have any of the missing Chapter 5 scenes and choices like I mentioned on the update summary, but it'll still have the new ancestry/heritage traits, the new souvenir trinkets, and the edited twin fight scene. Basically I just want the game to be at a point where I'm satisfied to leave it for a while.
I'm having a bit of a burnout at the moment so I'm not sure when the update will be ready, but aside from coding the new trinkets, it's mostly the editing left I need to do.
This isn't a hiatus, I just need to focus on myself right now. 😊

As promised, here are the effects of the new souvenir trinkets! Here's the last preview if you missed what the new trinkets are for.
Porcelain Figurine: +20% Resistance to All Stat Penalties
Ankh Keychain: +33% Healing Received, Cleanses negative effects of 🖤 [Healing Sickness] from triggering 🛡️ [Plot Armor]
Shield Knot Emblem: +20% Damage Resistance, +20% Chance to reduce damage taken to 1
Golden Apple Magnet: +10% to ALL Relationship Gains and Losses
Postcard Collection: 25% of setting-specific bonuses apply to all non-homeworld settings
Antique Toy Biplane: +1000% Exploration EXP
Kaiun Omamori: 33% Chance to succeed failed stat checks; reduce chance by 1% when it activates (until 5% chance)
Vintage Handkerchief: 💯 [Perfect Health] Bonus also grants +10% All Stats
Dream Catcher: Cleanses 🌞/🦉[Sleepyhead] Status Effect, Doubles effects and extends duration of 🔋 [Well-Rested] bonuses
Wooden Ceremonial Dagger: Gain Bonus EXP when taking damage and failing stat checks, Temporarily gain +2% EXP Bonus for each negative status effect

As always, these are subject to change, especially because I have no idea how powerful most of these will be. But since they are supposed to be extra-powerful, I've made it so that the [Goblin Ancestry] bonus doesn't affect the souvenir trinkets.

Whoops, the preview about MC's Dad took me a while longer, because I just added 16 new trinkets to the game!
"How can I get the new trinkets?" you may ask. Well, check out the new backstory details about MC's Dad below:

Now that you know MC's Dad is an anthropologist, surely he must have some souvenirs from his trips, right? Well, that's where the new exclusive trinkets come in!

Anyway, the above scene previously showed a different choice, so I moved that to the scene after MC wakes up in their new home:

I've updated the prologue with new information about MC's Dad a couple times already, but this is probably going to be the last one. The prologue has always been unclear about how much the twins remember about their dad, but this should help clear that up.
As for the new trinkets... you might remember from the earliest versions of the story that the locket actually gave different bonuses according to the gem you selected. I removed it since I didn't want to tie MC's favorite color to the bonuses, but this was the perfect choice to bring that back.
I love designing RPG items, if you can't tell. 😛 I had loads of treasure items and trinket ideas with their own special effects when I was younger! 😄 But yes, the new souvenir trinkets will be a lot more powerful than the trinkets you can currently find, and I tried to make sure the new effects are thematic, with a certain playstyle in mind.

Do the new additional information improve your opinion of MC's dad, compared to your initial impressions when you barely knew anything about him?
I'm curious, especially if you haven't read anything about IAC. I'd love to know your thoughts too if you've already read IAC, although I might not share any responses to avoid spoilers.
