TIGHNARI: # deliver me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
word count. 3k. genre. adventure, pining.
overview. news of your patrol squad's brutal defeat by eremites reaches tighnari's ears. he wastes no time searching for you to save you—but in the end, who will be saving who?
warnings. blood, action sequences, tighnari & y/n both being badass AND down bad for each other. read at your own discretion.
Tumblr media
Tighnari shifted his weight to his other leg, trying to focus himself on his work at hand. A dark cloud had been looming over his mind all day. It had obscured his path to understanding the recent outbreak of withering zones all across the forest; he seemed to have hit a roadblock in what to anticipate in coming weeks. Some information from forest logs pointed to the archon’s situation, and other clues pointed to misconduct of both Akedemiya researchers and bands of Eremites. Still others seemed to lead him somewhere deeper, somewhere within the very Ley Lines of Teyvat. But there was more that was bothering him today which he could not lay his finger on.
“General Watchleader, sir!”
He looked up to see a Forest Watcher at his doorway.
“Come quick,” she said. “Something’s happened to this morning’s patrol squad.”
Tighnari wasted no time following her to the infirmary hut, where but one Forest Watcher was lying wounded on one of the beds. It was indeed one of the Rangers that had been sent out this morning, along with you and two others, who he did not see now.
“Kamran, what happened?”
The poor man clutched his bleeding side, which was dressed mildly with a makeshift bandage from his scarf. Tighnari gently removed this to treat the Ranger’s wound, listening to his tale.
“Eremites, General Watchleader. We were ambushed, and they—they had no mercy. The two others died, sir, and our patrol chief told me to get out of there. I made it out by the hair on my neck. Or rather, my side—yahhh!” Kamran yelped as Tighnari applied an ointment along the edge of the wound.
“Sit still, Kamran.” Tighanari tried to steady his hands. He’d elected you chief of this patrol—and so, it was his fault if you were dead. He might not ever forgive himself for this. He should have sent stronger defense along. He should have seen this coming.
Damn, he might have lost you, now, and might never get the chance to tell you what you meant to him.
He tightened a liquid bandage over Kamran’s wound. “Tell me, Ranger: where did this occur?”
<*+`,.>
Tighnari’s boots were laden with mud by the time he and two others had reached the reported location. Rain was falling hard, emphasizing his growing dread and causing his ears to fold back. Finding nothing initially, one of the other Forest Rangers suggested they split up.
“Hold that thought, Ranger,” he said, kneeling at the sign of discolored mud. On closer inspection, he realized: “Blood.”
None of them could locate directional footprints near this point, but there was a clear indication of a fight, one that ended quickly. The three swept the riverbank for more clues with no luck. But upon a tree Tighnari noted a fresh gash around half of its trunk. It looked like one your knives might have made it, though it was higher than you would have naturally reached.
Perhaps you had been carried. Perhaps they kept you alive.
“We go West,” Tighnari declared. “Iraj, take the Southernmost route! Shirin, you take the Northernmost one!”
“Sir,” they nodded, gathering in front of him.
“Don’t stand there. Lives still may be saved today!”
And off they ran, all three praying he would be right.
Tighnari was relieved when he found another fresh cut in a tree several paces West, indicative of your survival past the ambush. He later found the ground to be firmer, and the marks of several footprints created a reliable trail. Now he had a feeling he was drawing closer—but at the same time, a feeling he might still be too late.
The discovery of one of your blades in the dirt a bit further along concurred.
It had occurred to him quite soon after Kamran’s arrival that this may be a trap for Tighnari. The Forest Rangers of Gandharva Ville had had a rocky relationship with Eremites, and being known as the leader placed a target on his back. However, he feared more the blood of the Rangers on his hands than any of the enemies of the forest he may face. He had no doubt now that it was a trap, but knowing it served him very little. He’d sent the others further away so that they might not have to get involved; he only hoped they hadn’t come near enough to locate the camp.
Only then did he hear distant chatter. It sounded like Eremites, no doubt, and additionally, the whining tone of Treasure Hoarders. As he approached the camp, he quieted his paces and kept to the shadows, eyes peeled to the men and women around the wet firepit with their weapons at the ready.
Tighnari crept around the outskirts of the camp, far enough away that any rustle in the trees would be indistinguishable from the storm. He spied you, soon enough, sitting in a crude wooden cage similar to ones he’d seen at other Treasure Hoarder camps before. Guilt sank his heart to his stomach. He would get you out of this mess, no matter what.
Tighnari aimed his bow at the back of the Eremite guarding your cage, considering. If he alerted the camp of his presence, he would have to face all of them at once. If he lured some away, however…
He pointed and shot his arrow to the trees near the path, and watched a few shout and scramble over in that direction. He snickered to himself. Knuckleheads.
Back at the camp, he could just make out you standing in your cage, peering over in that same direction. He refocused, noticing how muddy your face and back were.
There would be no easy way to save you, he knew. But hesitating would make things harder, and so he crept closer to the camp. The mud was slippery and thick here, gathering a slight stream downhill. If he had sprinted for you, he would have wiped out and given himself away.
Ah. That would work.
Tighnari at last sent an arrow at the Eremite leaning on your cage, and she staggered to her feet, whirling around. “He’s there!” she shouted shrilly, and soon, a larger portion of the camp was racing towards him. He simply jogged a few steps away, turned, and readied his weapon.
Sure enough, each Treasure Hoarder and Eremite that ran close enough slid on their heel and landed on their ass. Defeating them with a few well aimed shots was no problem. A cryo-thrower tossed a solution from further away, and Tighnari just managed to dive out of the way. Gathering his elemental energy, he sent three shots at the foe and made a dash for the camp.
“Welcome, Tree-Hugger. Eat this.” A kick from an undetected Eremite struck him clean across the face and he stumbled backwards.
“My,” he said, simply. “No need to play dirty.”
“You don’t know when to drop the act, do you?” the Eremite said. She slashed her dual hydro-blades at her, and just barely missed his chest as he dodged. “You’re dead.”
He dodged another attack. He wouldn’t be able to defeat her from this close a range. He’d been hoping to emancipate you before dealing with the rest, but it seemed he had no choice.
Or, at least, that’s what he was thinking, until the Clearwater grunted and froze in place, before crumbling to her knees.
He noticed the handle of a blade stuck deep into her shoulder. Not just any blade. Your blade.
“C’mon, ‘Nari, get me out of here before I scream. They’re awfully loud bastards.”
He chuckled, noticing you watching him from the cage. Truly an ineffective sport and ineffective piece of technology, trapping someone without taking away their weapons in such a wide-barred, single-person cage. He wondered if you might have shimmied out between the wood had you not been surrounded by Treasure Hoarders.
“Alright, alright. Be patient, Patrol Chief.”
You groaned as he went to make work of the lock. “You can’t be serious. You don’t even have the key.”
“I can pick locks,” he said matter of factly, “you know.”
You chuckled. “Yeah, well, I can do this—” He halted as you wrapped your hands around two parallel wooden beams and pulled them apart, successfully snapping them and opening yourself your own doorway out. You tossed the splintered beams to the ground and dusted off your hands.
“You could have done that before I got here and saved me the trouble,” Tighnari quipped, watching you step out. “Now, then, I do apologize you landed in this mess all because—”
“It’s not your fault, Tighnari. I can be responsible for my own ass sometimes.”
Tighnari curled his lips unashamedly.
“Don’t respond to that,” you said, trudging over to the female Eremite to draw your knife out of her shoulder. You wiped the blood off with the inner elbow of your sleeve, peering into the sky. “So, how’d you find out what happened?”
Tighnari followed you, checking you over for injuries. “Kamran stumbled into camp and I was alerted,” he said, and then deemed you to be in one shape and acquiesced to your resistance.
“That coward.” You huffed and shook your head. “I don’t know what he told you, but he ran off almost immediately. And he was supposed to be our combat support. Our analyst didn’t make it.”
“Not your fault.”
“It ain’t yours either, ‘Nari. Eremites can just be ruthless. I knew they wanted you, but I was hoping Kamran wouldn’t be able to find the way back so that I could handle it myself.”
“Patrol Chief, you were still in your cage when I made it here,” he said. “I don’t think it was going as well as you claim it was.”
The Clearwater Eremite groaned, writhing on the ground. Tighnari gave her a good kick in the side. You raised your eyebrows at him. “I was just waiting for the sun to come out. It seemed awfully inconvenient to deal with the situation in the pouring rain.” You pointed into the sky. “A bit of sun’s coming out now. I would have gotten out by now with or without your help.”
“No ‘thank you’?”
You shook your head. “Nope. Not when you put yourself in danger like that.”
Tighnari shook his ears with a resigned sigh. “Well, at least it’s all over now.”
“Not yet it ain’t,” a voice boomed. The two of you whirled around to see a burly Eremite clomping into the camp. Tighnari did not recognize him from the ones he dealt with earlier. He was larger, more handsomely clothed, and angrier. “I’ve been waiting for this day.”
“Of course you have,” Tighnari muttered.
“You should be more afraid, tree hugger,” demanded the Eremite.
“No need,” he replied, readying his bow unwaveringly.
The Eremite laughed heartily and drew a long, narrow blade, eyeing both of you with evident bloodlust. You clasped the hilt of your dagger in your belt, but Tighnari raised an arm in front of you.
“Fight me all you want, but leave them out of this.” At this you started to protest but a severe look from Tighnari silenced you at once.
“Someone’s protective of his pet,” the Eremite responded. He stepped closer, dragging the tip of his blade in the mud. “Seems we were right.”
Tighnari’s face was dark. You were grateful not to be on the receiving end of that look. “You Eremites wish you had any kind of sense. Luring me here was a mistake.”
He fired an arrow at the man’s chest, knocking him back and angering him further. You stepped out of the way as Tighnari had instructed you, watching him dive towards the edge of the camp to avoid a swipe of the Eremite’s blade. You wanted to help, but you didn’t want to complicate things.
Tighnari shouted, tossing a Dendro bomb at the Eremite’s feet. He stumbled back—only to charge at Tighnari with greater force. You could just barely hear him swearing under the thundering rain, dodging the blade again. It went on for several minutes; you watched with great interest, only bothered by the fact that you weren’t part of it. It seemed that the General Watchleader was attempting to exhaust the roaring Eremite, but it was taking a while. Both Tighnari and the Eremite’s movements were becoming sloppier. The Eremite showed no sign of letting up, however; he looked like he’d been waiting for this his whole life.
In a moment that seemed to last several seconds, you saw Tighnari’s foot slip a little in the grass, causing him to stumble a little. You did not hesitate to reach your arm back and fling your dagger at the Eremite.
It sunk into his back a moment too late—the Eremite had landed a deadly strike on Tighnari.
Tighnari fell to his knees as the Eremite crumpled into the grass, groaning.
“Damn it, Tighnari!” you ran over to your leader, kneeling next to him.
“My love…” He fought to keep his eyes open. “I apologize. I thought I could—” He cut himself off, holding one hand to his mouth to cough hard. His other hand was clutching his chest. Blood came from both locations.
“‘Nari,” you whispered.
Neither of you had the time to process the use of such a term between you. You could feel his shoulders in your hands, tremble and falter. Your heart stopped as he fell forward into your arms. Your thoughts blurred as you ripped the Eremite’s scarf from his neck and tied it around his chest, trying to hold enough pressure to his collarbone to stop the bleeding. Once you were satisfied with the tautness, you took a full, deep breath, dragged him to a standing position by his armpits, and pulled him onto your back.
“Shit. You’re heavy, asshole,” you breathed. It was going to be a long walk back to Gandharva Ville. And you were not going to think about him calling you his “love.”
<*+`,.>
Tighnari came to in a very comfortable bed with a very uncomfortable pain in his chest. He could barely breathe. It was like he’d been stabbed in the lungs.
Oh. He had been. The events of the Eremite camp sharpened in his memory. He’d been trying to lead the Eremite far enough from you that you could escape. But he didn’t remember anything after being stabbed. Where were you?
His vision was peppered with dots but he forced them to focus. He was in the infirmary, no doubt. But whoever had treated his injury had done an egregious job, and he did not attempt any movement. His mouth tasted like iron. Like blood.
Tighnari heard a fuss across the room and footsteps ran into his direction. You leaned over him with evident worry. And red eyes.
“You’re awake,” you said with a tense sigh.
“No shit.”
You stared at him. Your face, previously clouded in misgiving, reconfigured to a relieved smile. “You’re quite awake,” you said.
“Haven’t you got,” he said, taking short breaths between words, “anything else to say?”
“Yeah. You’re awake thanks to me.”
He opened his mouth to voice a retort, but his throat clenched and he turned his head to cough. “I should have given you… lessons… on how to treat a chest wound.”
“I figured it out myself.”
He tilted his face back to look you in the eyes. “Barely.”
“I’m sorry, ‘Nari,” you said. “But at the same time, you could have been dead. You could have been dead because you didn’t let me help.” Tighnari noticed a tear escape your eye, which you wiped away immediately with the heel of your palm. “Asshole,” you added as an affable afterthought.
Tighnari studied your face, feeling emotions threaten his own expression. He wiggled his fingers, testing the pain. Satisfied that it was bearable, he reached up to your collar and pulled you towards him.
“Thank you,” he whispered into your ear, “for saving me. You did well.”
You seemed to hesitate. Then, ever-so-gently, you rested your head next to his and placed a careful hand on his shoulder. You were warm, and he didn’t know you were capable of such tender affection.
As you stood up straight again, you flicked his forehead with all your might.
He gasped, and then howled as his hand involuntary jerking up to his head caused his chest to strain and ache. “Ow! That was unnecessary!”
“You’re welcome, Tighnari,” you announced with your back to him. He did not fail to notice the redness of your ears.
He clicked his tongue. “You used the wrong ointment on my wound, Patrol Chief.” He took a deep breath, wincing again. “Is this Padisarah itching cream?”
You scoffed. “You can treat your wounds yourself from now on.” With that, you marched through the door of the hut, leaving Tighnari quite immobile on the bed.
He allowed himself a small smile. Alas, neither of you were dead. And something told him he would get the chance to tell you what you meant to him.

Okay but idea for SAGAU for something silly that just happened
so i was like playing with my sister right??? And she's like 4 and i thought genshin was like mostly PG so i decided to play with her because my mom always ask me to spend more time with her so we can bond and be more united, and i love my mom so i said yeah sure and i just finished the liyue Archon quest yesterday so i was doing that an involuntary sacrifice quest thing no? So we just go into the domain all happy go lucky when KABOOM the upside down venti statue and the dead treasure hoarder, i audibly gasp and my sibling runs away crying and now me and my mum are laughing while she combs my hair, so i thought it would be funny if this was a sagau scenario and you're the first sagau writing blog i scrolled by so i wanted to know ur take on it XOXO
Anon this is absolutely hilarious but I feel so bad for your sibling-
Hilarious happenstance aside, this kind of thing would be rather interesting for SAGAU! Depending on whether or not this is a regular SAGAU with an adult Creator, or if we take my Godling AU and use that, it could give some pretty interesting results.
With a fully grown - or even just a teenaged - Creator, the emotional impact would be jarring and disturbing, but they would have the maturity and knowledge necessary to help with the situation. BUT, if we want to go the heartbreaking route...
Imagine, if you will, a little Godling Creator, eagerly following along behind the Traveler and Paimon. Still very young, baby fat still rounding out their cheeks, but still so excited to finally adventure with one of their favorite people. They hold onto the Traveler's hand the whole time at their insistence. While the Traveler has a bad feeling about all of this, they can't exactly say "no" to the Creator Incarnate...
They regret bringing such a little kid with them. The terror in their wide eyes as they stare at the defiled statue is a look that will haunt the star-traveling being for the rest of their life. And, oh, how their sweet little voice shakes as they cling to their guardian, innocent eyes filling with tears as they mumble,
"What wrong with that 'batos...?"
The Traveler is quick to scoop the baby god into their arms, hurrying away from the statue and the corpse knelt before it. They duck and weave through the bubble traps, doing their best to console the godling all the while.
Things only go from bad to worse after that...

Tumblr media
he wanders throughout the dead of the night, navigating through the darkness with only the streetlamps there to accompany and guide him to his destination. the evening comes as a lull welcome to serenity and the city was silent in its embrace except for the sound of leaves rustling, his light footsteps, and the indistinguishable chatter of the few people around.
he could feel the cold night wind gently blow against him, caressing his skin, and soothing his warmth, and he pulls his hat down, holding it to avoid it from being blown away accidentally.
it was still early in the evening so a few people, aside from mercenaries, were seen outside, taking a stroll, or talking to others—most of the citizens that weren't outside were either inside their home or in the tavern, drinking and eating, and you were also doing the latter and he was out looking for you. apparently, after consulting nahida on your whereabouts as he couldn't find you in your own home nor anywhere the whole afternoon until now, he learned that you were out drinking with a group of people you met recently.
wanderer passed by a few closed stalls before eventually arriving at the doors of the tavern with the host greeting him as he entered. there, the warm lights of the place greeted him as he stepped in and the sound of laughter was heard, unfamiliar and loud, and there he saw you. not situated far away from him, you were seated—seemingly passed out as you had your head laid on top of the table— with a bunch of people whose faces he doesn't know of.
the thought of you willingly going out and drinking with strangers pissed him off. are you really that careless and lacking in self-awareness that you'll get yourself drunk around people who you're not even familiar nor close with? and the fact that you didn't even tell him where you're going to be and what you're going to do? his expression crumpled to an irritated one.
honestly even if the two of you are just friends—deep in him, he wishes you two weren't just that no matter the amount of times he had denied the thought—, it would have been if you would tell him. no, honestly, you should because he doesn't want to go through hell and back just to look for you and even seek for the sumeru archon's help— whose assistance will always be accompanied with her own words that would send him into a spiral of realization of what he truly feels towards you along with some teasing.
he walks towards your table, stopping right in front of it and grabbing the attention of the people in it. there was the strong smell of alcohol and aroma of food that wafted to his nose, it was harsh and he doesn't like it in a bit.
"oh hello, is there anything we can help you with?" one of them asks, he looks the most sober one out of all them due to the fact that he could speak without slurring their words.
"i'll be taking this one home with me," he says, an emotionless expression plastered on his face, while pointing at you. it seems like the sound of his voice woke you up from your slumber as you slowly sat up and brought your gaze to him, meeting his stare. your face was flustered pink, your eyes drowsy, and your hair was untidy, you looked like a total mess.
"wait, we don't know—" words of protest were about to be heard coming out of the man sitting in front of you but your voice interrupted them.
"hiii, kuniii," you break out into a grin, realizing that it was him, reaching your arms out, wanting to initiate a hug or anything. your words were dragged out and he could only sigh upon witnessing the state that you are in before he leaned down, letting you wrap your arms around his neck, then picking you up in his hold. he doesn't even care about the people watching him, in fact, he even finds himself liking it.
"you're hereee, why are you here?"
"i'm here to pick your dumbass up."
"we're going home?"
"yes, so be quiet."
"okay…" you followed what he said, shutting your mouth and resting your head against his shoulders.
wanderer gazed at the group, looking at them with a cold expression, "i appreciate that you kept (name) safe, however, next time, please avoid inviting them out and having them stay up until this time."
he turns around, walking away and leaving the tavern while he was holding you and you were hugging him tightly. it seems like you have fallen asleep once again and so he intends to bring you home as soon as possible so that you'll be able to get some rest properly.
the way back to your home was silent just like when he was walking towards the tavern to fetch your drunk state. he just wouldn't be able to rest peacefully knowing that someone else, a complete stranger, took you home, especially at this defenseless state of yours. what if something bad happened to you? what if the people you were drinking with were actually horrible and you weren't able to protect yourself? what if they were kidnappers, murderers, or anything and their next victim was you?
honestly, he has no right speaking over that matter and judging them when the blood that stains his hands makes him no different from them—if they were really bad people. but still, he just couldn't handle the thought of you slipping out of his grasp even when you have never been close to him to hold his hand. it was fine admiring you from afar as long as you don't fade from his sight.
a groan snapped him out of his trance and he looked at his side, to his shoulder where your head rests in which you rise up from your very quick nap. at the same time, you two have already arrived at the foot of your home.
"where are we…?"
"at the door of your house, where's your keys?" you hum before replying to him, tapping his shoulder as you spoke, "it's okay, you can put me down now. i can handle myself."
your voice sounded so soft and based on the tone of your voice—compared to when you were slurring your words when he was greeted by you— he could tell that you were already sobering up. maybe that quick sleep and cold breeze helped you?
he did what you had asked him to do, placing you down the ground and making sure that you were already on both of your feet before releasing his hold on you, watching you take your keys and unlocking the door soon after. he plans on leaving as soon as he sees you get inside your room.
there was only silence not until you spoke, "thanks for taking me home, by the way."
"you ought to be more careful next time."
"i will, thank you once again," you turned to him as you spoke, a small smile on your face and you don't know if it's the way the moonlight shines on him that his complexion looks so soft and gentle while looking at you.
*oh, right! it's not yet midnight, right? i hope i'm not late…" there was panic in your tone as you fumbled and looked for something in the pockets of your clothes. he was about to speak, planning on asking you, but was then interrupted when you took out what you were looking for, dangling it in front of his face.
it was an amulet with a gem in the shape of a heart and there was an unknown feeling at his stomach, one that he always feels when he's around you, adoring you, or talking to you.
"it was only this morning when i learned that it was your birthday so i looked for a gift and was even thinking of just making a handmade one but i don't think i'll have enough time and then i encountered those people— the ones i was drinking with— who helped me in exchange for some drinks. i swear, i wasn't planning on staying out late and i was going to look for you right—"
you were interrupted with the sound of something short and sweet, so genuine, so low and soft that if your surroundings weren't silent right now, you wouldn't have heard it.
"…okay, that's enough. you don't have to explain everything, just be more careful next time." did he laugh? did he just let out a chuckle? a laugh? are you still drunk? maybe that's it, maybe you're still drunk and daydreaming!
you scratched the back of your neck before handing him the gift on your hand and he accepted it. in the quick moment he had his guard down, you cupped his face gently and pressed your lips against his cheek, giving him a peck.
"happy birthday, kuni. thank you for being born, thank you for being here," you whisper before parting, letting go of your hold on his cheek and you weren't looking at him, your gaze averted and away. you wanted to see his face but you were afraid of the emotion that would stain his expression so you could only look away and the reality of the situation had only dawned on you when silence only reigned.
"so uhm, yes, that's all. okay, goodnight!"
you then went inside immediately and closed the door and you wish you stayed for a little bit, you wished you could have seen the way his face flusters and his ears grow red, you wished you witnessed him fall and try to cover the blush on his cheeks as he tries to calm the butterflies that were going wild in his stomach. archons, what is he going to do with you?
his gaze remains at the amulet in his hand and his mind remains at the time when your lips had touched his skin, stuck in a single yet eternal dreamlike moment, not wanting to leave.
even with the amount of thoughts running inside his head, he could only think of you—his mind never felt like his own because it's only you that fills it, his thoughts felt like small puzzle pieces that once combined all together, it will form an image of you. he likes you so much, just like the way icarus yearns for the sun, too close, too warm, too much.

— ˚₊‧⁺˖ THE EARTH SPEAKS TO ALL OF US, AND IF WE LISTEN, WE CAN UNDERSTAND.
Tumblr media
fandom. genshin impact
pairing. tighnari x dendro vision holder!gn reader
content warnings. fluff, reader is a former desert dweller
word count. 1.2k
notes. repost of my collab piece for the valentine collab organized by @spiriteddreams !! the first time i posted it, i wasn't showing up in the tags :(
"How is it that you always know where to find me?", he asks you, in the middle of the Sumeru Rainforest. Tighnari is on patrol, and often he doesn’t have a set route. Yet you always seem to find him and join him with a sly smile.
"It’s my secret skill," you say cheekily. He just shakes his head, fully aware you wouldn’t tell him. He’s right, of course. You wish you could just tell him, share the deepest secret that has been part of you for many years, but you can’t fully trust him, not yet. Not when you need a bit more time— just a few more weeks, maybe months, just a bit more—
As a former desert dweller, offering secrets to someone of rainforest descent is something new, something you’ve never done before. Something your parents warned you against, ever since you received your dendro vision at the young age of four, bestowed by the hatred dendro archon but loved in your family. Ever since you received your vision, you have been able to listen to what the plants have to say. Where in the desert, most of them were dried and dead, yet in the few oases is where the whispers could be heard by you.
In the end, thanks to the plants, and your vision, you were able to flee, relocate your whole family to the lush part of Sumeru, and take jobs as hired bodyguards. In fear of being caught, you never entered the big cities, but that didn’t matter. Your family was safe, and you could provide them, all thanks to the whispers and secrets of the rainforest.
However your past doesn’t matter anymore, not since you started a new life as a watcher in the rainforest. You love your job, being surrounded by plants all day, truly a dream come true.
Shaking off your sudden thoughts of  the past, you turn your head back to Tighnari, who has fallen behind. Kneeling on the lush grass, he’s inspecting a few mushrooms, muttering about their color and taking notes.
With a fond sigh, you let the whispers of the forest fill the silence, knowing  what’s wrong before Tighnari does.
"They’re contaminated," you say, startling your patrol partner. His ears flicker, and he looks up, a questioning expression on his face. You start to elaborate. "Someone dropped some kind of oil on them— well, not exactly on them, but around the area.Based on the appearance of the mushrooms, it seems that they reacted abnormally to it. It wasn’t much oil, that’s for sure, and yet..." Tighnari just stares at you, while you go on and on, explaining exactly how and why these mushrooms don’t look like they should. Biting his lip, he lowers his head, humming in agreement, anything to not interrupt you from talking because— why did you look so goddamn cute when explaining something? Your face so earnest, hands animated and underlining your words, the almost babbling explanation that flowed like a waterfall of words, and yet, Tighnari listens. He listens to your voice, watches your face, and relaxes.
He worries already for another Withering to pop up here or, even worse, a pestilence infecting the forest. But you calm his turbulent thoughts, and he trusts your judgment. Why shouldn’t he, when you know the plants so much better than him? You have proven several times already that your knowledge and instincts are always right. Although he doesn't understand how you do it, suspecting it's connected to the secret of how you always find him, he knows that someday you will trust him enough to share your secrets. He still doesn’t know how you do it, suspecting it’s connected to the secret of how you always find him, no matter where he is, but he knows, one day you will trust him enough to tell him.
Unaware of Tighnari’s deep thoughts, you suddenly stop talking and go silent, embarrassed that your passion got the better of you once again. You fidget with your hands, clear your throat, and end your rant with, "You don’t have to worry about them, they’ll be fine. Some simple cleansing with our visions should do the job."
And that’s what you do. Using the power of dendro, you heal the mushrooms of any damage, cleansing the surrounding floor and grass, while ensuring no also making sure nothing of the oil is left behind.
Hours of patrol later, you return to Vimara Village. The sky has already started to darken, dipping the clouds in pinks and violets, as the sun slowly disappears behind the mountains. There is a peaceful silence between you, as you walk side by side.
And yet, there’s noise around you. Tighnari’s ears twitch and move at every sound, catching the calls of birds and the rustling of leaves in the wind. You, on the other hand, listen to the whispers around you, plants reaching out to you, their call is always close, but you walk on, placating them with your happiness— simply by being by Tighnari’s side. Feeling them listen to both of you while following his steps across the forest, it warms your heart to see how gentle he is. The forest has long approved of Tighnari, he is the man who owns your heart, the only one who ever will, because you trust the whispers. And the whispers tell you that Tighnari is the perfect man for you.
For now you dream and wave your lifelong friends off with a simple smile, hiding your desire to be close to him. You can’t lose yourself in him, not yet, not when there’s still fear deep within your heart, nestled between distrust and hesitance.
You know you can trust Tighnari, he has proven it several times, and yet… and yet something still holds you back. The words never leave your lips, your confession of love to him and your hidden gift, secrets you hold close to your chest.
"Tighnari?", you whisper, before your courage falters. He hums and looks at you, interest clear in his eyes.
"I want to show you something…", you trail off, suddenly hesitant. Is it really the right decision? Breathing in, the whispers fill your chaotic mind once again, assuring you it’s the right step in the right direction— trusting Tighnari with your deepest secret.
"Earth speaks to me," you begin, straightening yourself and squaring your shoulders. "The plants whisper their secrets to me and I… I want you to hear them as well."
Tighnari blinks, his ears dropping in surprise, and you fear you've overstepped, no, overwhelmed him. The fear slowly creeps into your heart, already regretting your decision to blurt out these words.
Your thoughts abruptly halt at the blinding smile he gives you, eyes shining and his tail wiggling.
"Of course! I am, oh Archons, please excuse my excitement, but, I would be honored to learn!", he starts to babble, completely overlooking your frozen frame. He seems so excited, no, he is so excited, so honored that you shared this secret with him and even want to teach him!
"I will be your best student, I promise [Name]", he says softly, and you know, you’ve done the right thing. Listening to the whispers, to the rainforest, to earth— you’ve done it your whole life, and you will continue to do so.

Okay what the heck is going on in the 4.2 trailer????
SPOILERS
What the hell is ‘everyone’s dead’?? And Papa???? Is that Neuvillette? That was where my mind first went to but there’s the whale as well I guess. I’m living for the Childe lore, I just hope it’s executed well. I’m also really not a fan of Skirk’s design. She just feels like another pale-haired pale-skinned duplicate. Nothing stands out about her. She just looks like 500 mihoyo characters mashed together, I thought she might have something special for her (honestly if someone said her design was AI generated I wouldn’t be surprised). Also, I’m really not a fan of how exposing her clothes are. Genshin’s really just not great on that front for female characters, there’s either an Obligatory Boob Window, or the nonsense Sumeru bikini or an excessively rendered button straining to hold back someone’s shirt despite canonically getting her clothes tailored for herself. But Skirk’s boobs are like,, barely covered in the slightest. I’m not a fan of sex appeal in video games (who would have guessed), especially when it breaks logic’s back to make such impractical clothes ‘make sense’ in canon
Tumblr media
But! Furina! I love her clothes! I wish that the design could have changed slightly when the Arkhe alignment switches rather than the white portions turning black, but I really like her clothes. Very classy and regal, I’m glad they went the route they did, I’m a big fan. I’m quite excited, I decided to pull for her since it’s my 18th birthday haha, I hope her character OST is good as well.
Tumblr media
Her design is so cool :3 (although those shorts look uncomfortable as heck, I wish they were a bit longer, I feel like sitting down in them would hurt lol).
The story is looking great, Fontaine is absolutely my favourite archon quest so far! I love how all the characters have been characterised, even if I hate them (looking at Wriothesley), Neuvillette and Arlecchino were immediate favourites, Childe of course has always been a character I loved and the hearth siblings + Furina grew on me massively, I didn’t care much about them at the beginning but they all grew on me so much.
There is going to be some proper angst coming up and I am waiting excitedly! The wider plot and lore of Genshin has single handedly been extended to crazy extents by Neuvillette just casually explaining Things That We Definitely Weren’t Supposed To Find Out About.

The sun has risen once again. Your bare feet met the freezing cold tiles, a shiver running down your spine. You reached for your mask with a steady hand of practiced conviction. The brand new dawn brought the same old thoughts. Guilt and regret. Yearning and dreaming. Love and animosity. There wasn't much that kept you going, yet every day you awoke with only two things in mind. An apology for failing those you vowed to protect. And an oath of bringing those who had wronged you down to their knees, even if it meant destroying the world in the process. You fixed the mask in place with once quick motion; a motion which over all these tedious years became nothing but a reflex. You shifted your gaze over to the window. Another snowstorm was coming. You expected as much.
“Good morning, Teyvat. May this day not be your last.”
Khaenri'ah is waning. The Eclipse Dynasty is nothing but a deathbed for the once great nation. Disenchanted by the life of misery in the land of starless sky, Khaenri'ah's Princess takes it upon herself to restore the former glory of her home, and so she does. Those are also her very hands that destroy Khaenri'ah for good in the process of bringing it up to the stars. Yet Irminsul holds all the knowledge of the world, and it is never wrong with its decisions. [Name] Einherjar will do whatever it takes to atone for the mistakes she has made, even if it means sacrificing everything in the process. She will also drag anyone down the path of damnation along with her, as long as it means curing her people of the curse thrown upon them by The Second Throne. One thing at a time, however. For now, the Queen is dead, long live the Queen.

Ok, I don't know where this idea came from, but I want it out of my head so now I'm making it everyone else's problem. Yall know the anime Zombieland Saga? To give a brief summary it is about an idol group made up entirely of the undead, specifically they are zombies, who disguise themselves as human in order to perform music. Its an amazing show and I truly cannot recommend it more highly, but that isn't the point right now!
What the point is is what if ya did something similar with a SAGAU? Could go either way of cult or imposter, but either is still funny.
• You have been living pretty comfortably in Mondstadt for some time, brought in by the allure of all that is entailed by the name "City of Freedom"
• The city already being home to one mysterious bard you decided on a differing route, the Adventure's Guild, to keep the mora coming in.
• While perhaps they found it odd how staunchly you refused to have anyone accompany you EVER, they couldn't argue that you clearly knew what you were doing since you would always get the job done and without a scratch on you!
• It was happenstance that started the decline, you were out doing your thing when I Mitachurl managed the blind-side you. Assuming you were alone you only groaned in annoyance as a massive axe neatly cleaved your head off of your shoulders.
• It wasn't until the shrill scream of Amber watching the incident that you realized you've been caught. So naturally, you let your body flop down as if you had died, waited for Amber to focus on the Hilichurls, and slowly crawled your way towards where your head landed and made your escape.
• Later sitting at Good Hunter with fresh stitches and a new layer of makeup to cover it, you were just enjoying your meal when Amber came stumbling back through the gates, looking more then just mildly traumatized. And then you made eye contact with eachother.
• Again she shrieked at the site of you, because she KNOWS she saw you get decapitated, and yet here you sit perfectly unharmed. This time she fients before she can properly convey that you are the reason why.
• Hiding away in your home you debate whether or not to consider the jig as up, and just start packing now. In that debate you praised any Archon that could hear you that when there came knocking on your door, you still had your make-up on.
• To say finding Eula glaring at you from beyond your door was frightening would be an understatement.
• You all but got dragged to the Knights of Favonius headquarters for questioning. Bwing met at the door with Kaeya's smirk, a visibly exhausted Jean, a barely conscious Lisa, and of course a terrified looking Amber.
• Apparently Amber had reported that you had died a grizzly death at the hands of Hilichurls, and yet there are dozens of accounts that you were perfectly fine less then an hour after Amber's reported time of death.
• You gave a silent apology to Amber as you pushed that it would be impossible for you to be able to sit here and answer these questions if you were dead. A point that they had no argument against.
• And so, a couple hours of questions and rewriting a report, and they let you go, but now a new problem arises, its started raining.
• In your tired daze, you didn't notice, not as your hair got soaked, and makeup began to drip and peel off of your skin.
• It was Lisa's alarmed noise that got your attention, and when you whirled around to look at her, the damage was done.
• The gathered knights watched in varying degrees of horror as what had appeared to be your skin suddenly flung off of your features in a goo-y mass. Leaving behind the palid grey-blue and green of your dead flesh.
• Amber even through her fear immediately saw the thick and messy sutchers that now held your head in place. As well as many other tracks of stitching that you've had to use in order to keep yourself in as few pieces as possible.
• Seconds are all you have to turn and run, that moment of hesitation upon seeing your true colors, literally, and the plethora of evidence that point to injures that by every account should have been fatal.
• A mad dash home, bar the door, lock the windows, and take these few precious seconds to try and pack as much as you can physically carry for your escape.
• In your panic you foolishly didn't listen that closely to what was happening outside of the rain. And so as you slung your heavy pack over your shoulder and ran out your door, you did so straight into the Acting Grandmaster's sword.
• And well... That's unfortunate.
• Jean had the closest view as you stared down at her sword buried in your chest, a drawn out quiet moment of the both of you staring at the impalment. And before she has the chance to pull it back out again, you've raised your hands up in exasperation, cause just COME ON, AS IF YOU DIDN'T ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH PROBLEMS!
• The shock of the situation was the main thing that stopped any of the multiple Knights and vision-barers from going near you as you began to pace back and forth in front of your house, Jean's sword still neatly secured inside your chest, as you shout into the rain about how you couldn't get a break anymore, how today has just been fiasco after fiasco.
• And by the end they all just had to wonder. What do you even DO with a person that can shrug off a beheading and treats being impaled as nothing more then an annoyance?
• And so you were permitted to stay in Mondstadt, under the circumstances that you have not been anything less then helpful since you arrived, and as long as you are careful about your disguise. The report of your death and the little show of your undead annoyance would be swept under the rug.
• Ahh, but if only there was a way to subtly silence that damned Bard that won't shut up about how he witnessed a Mondstadt citizen die a dozen deaths and yet still continues to live amongst them.
Ok, this was a stupid idea, poorly written on my phone in a rush to just write it down, thus the weird layout. But I hope yall enjoyed it anyway! I've not written in the headcannons format before, so this has certainly been interesting.

New rebloging (?) Post dump
ik not what u asked for (sry idk how to @ u)
So here what i think how kaeya got to mondstadt
When the cataclysem started khaenri'ah was affected the most and tryed to control it thay had no choise as to rely on abyss energy in order to survive and flee over the abyss
(thay became abyss mages later cuz curse)
when the archon arved kaeya was told to evacuate with the others
Kaeya stayed to his fathers side how can he leas life like thous who blazz with fiar if he runs like a cowered
Put some sadnis kaeya had 2 best friends
The name is otto he went with him to be evacuated but thay run out of food so thay had to eat the flash of the others and than of eachother as thay waited for kaeyas father otto didn't make it
otto von bismut .II from a reather famus famaly who had great influence on khaenri'ahs outer politic and a clan trusted by irmin otto likes bottanig and one day wants to stundy plants in sumeru snd promised kaeya to bring kim a kaeya flower if it isn't extingt (witch it is and it was kaeyas moms favorite flower in sumeru)
kaeyas dad fund him in time and cuz pierro wants to avoide the abyss for kaeya thay travel a diffret rout than the others atlest kaeya dose
I have no idea how Pierro got in contact with tsaritsa idk
Since time works diffret pierro kind of time traveld via abyss ig
Kaeya had to go the ''normal way over see idk pierro woud leave kaeya for a while to deal with fatui and get food for kaeya
One day thay meet an insane women named skirk she toke kaeya 3 days ? hours ? In the abyss while in tyvat 300 years passed pierro hates her obuosly but it saved time ?
(And realy smart guy from mondstadt named Elbert Ainstone made a theory about time and relativaty sumeru scalers called him mad so rukkatavata sugsest he go and study in khaenri'ah)
Pierro first wanted to keep him save in shneznya, but kaeya hates the cold .Pierro realizes he can no longer give kaeya what he needs ,a loving famaly and a happy life( kaeyas mom insisted that kaeya has to be happy at all costs)
So pierro lies the shit out of himself to kaeya
So thay arvive in mondstadt why ?
Kaeyas relatives in natlan are alrady dead and sumeru is a no go cuz 1 freaking sages 2 he dosen't know what thay will do if thay find out kaeya is the last dhari
Mondstadt has an absent archon so it's almost like home
Delusion for a childe ect
Maby kaeyas dad left him in the rain so he won't have to see pierro cry
And somthing that buged me dain says the only idantaty that metters was being from khaenri'ah
What woud happen if one where to abonded his heratige and what where to happen if people from who knowes where chose to become part of khaenri'ah? How will the curse affect tham
Do pierro and kaeya have this mystirus 'It'
What do you think ? (Don't worry i have so much more )

Thoughts after completing A New Star Approaches quest
Specifically in terms of worldbuilding head canons and ideas for my own Au’s. which in all honesty mostly focus around childe currently.
it may just be because of how Hoyoverse portrays the situation, as well as being in the travelers point of view, but I do feel the whole gnosis betrayal in regards Zhongchi is amplified in fanon (not that I am complaining, I do love the angst and stuff that comes from it). and I do understand why people would go down the route of making it more dramatic, angst and worse consequences, but tis personally not my thing when it comes to writing. that said, my interpretation of the canon material so far(have not started the next archon quest as of writing this)
In regards to Childe and the repercussions of the Osial incident, my interpretation is just that Childe is more mildly irritated over the situation, having been played and made a scapegoat, but not too terribly upset given he got a good fight and, in his eyes, a friend out of the traveler. that just ties into my headcanon that if you can become a regular fight/sparring buddy of his, that's one of the highest forms of friendship he has, (given how few people he’s encountered that can actually come back for a second fight, much less for something as simply as sparring(or material gathering as the traveler calls it).
But asides from that (as I haven't seen any actual mention so far of Childe being banned from Liyue so far) I can see a couple reasons why Ningguang hasn't done so. sure he’s a liability, but due to said incident she was implied to be able to make and negotiate with Sneznayha diplomats with many more benefits for Liyue. With her ambitions and knowing how much of a wild card he is, I can see her weighing the options of having to clean up any other problems he brings (and after defeating Osail I can see her, while placing proper safe guards in place, believing that they are capable of it) verses the potential of what else she’d be able to milk from Sneznayha should he cause trouble again.
Plus the fact of how rich he is, (which asides from spending money on his family I honestly don't see him spending much anywhere else, unless he’s got zhongli with him which is an explanation on its own. honestly I can see him having killer savings, especially if it was properly invested which it probably is. he totally has college funds fully set up for all his sibs and you can pry that out of my cold dead hands, but anyway getting side tracked) he’s essentially a walking black card that can do a lot to stimulate the liyue economy.
so in the end I can see her allowing him to stay with some consequences, but ultimately letting him roam free as a future unlimited bargaining chip essentially.
and so conclude most of my current thoughts.

You got me at the whole "giant game of tag throughout the entirety of the world of teyvat"
May we please, I am begging, be blessed with a fic based on this wonderful idea because I am yearning this sounds amazing!
🌸Omfg I had the hardest time formatting this so I’m sorry for the delay anon!🌸
I did a combination of fic and headcanons for this, I hope it’s alright!
Totally sped through this, so the ending is a bit lackluster. You’ve been warned 🙃
Post contents/warnings: General Genshin “sagau” style AU. Genshin cult AU. Religious themes. Mentions of injury to reader. Being hunted. A bit of angst
Teyvat Tag
You were upset, yes. Your favorite characters, no, people, had hunted you down and tried to kill you. If it wasn’t for the spirit of Teyvat, you would be hella dead. Like you just woke up here one day, it's not like you died and got isekai’d here! At Least you're pretty sure. You might have died in your sleep, a bit unceremonious compared to the truck-kun route, but still!
When you saw all of the people begging, crawling on their knees, sobbing for some form of forgiveness, honestly, you weren’t sure if you wanted to give it to them. I mean, you were a god and you had gotten in touch with your “godly powers” aka the user interface of this world. A couple of sweet madames as offerings and flowers, all going directly to your inventory, wasn’t exactly a great medium for forgiveness of what they have done. I mean? Someone tries to kill you mercilessly and you are handed just handed a roast chicken? Accompanied with a sobbed sorry? Yeah,it didn’t quite feel adequate enough.
Sure you had a shit ton of stuff now! It didn’t really mean much though when you didn't exactly want to spend it on any of them though. I mean, what good is all these treasure hoarder insignias? You aren't going to ascend anyone with them after everyone hunted you down like a wild animal!
You were sitting atop of Venti’s giant statue in Mondstat, ignoring everyone down below. You had sat there for a while, passing time through the UI, letting time for word to get out that you were atleast showing yourself in a public area.
You had an idea, an excellent one at that. They had chased you around like a wild animal for weeks, and you figured it would be funny to return the favor. Ofcourse, in a game of tag.
The question here was did you chase them around? Or did you use your newfound powers to make it impossible for them to catch you this time around? Maybe both?
It didn't matter, the 3 archons who shamelessly tried to kill you, and the vision holders of each nation, had gathered between the statue, crying. It was kinda getting annoying.
Using your powers, you quietly floated down to the earth, just above reach from any grabby hands who wanted to use you as a snot cushion. Ahem, venti.
You ignored the callings and sobs of everyone.
“Your grace! We are so, so sorry!”
“We didn’t know it was you! Please enact revenge on us, its only fair!”
“Please forgive us, we are fools!”
Yeah, you really are idiots. CHasing down someone who didn’t even know what crime they were commiting.
Once this game of tag was over, you should probably enact some laws or something to prevent that happening again. But that didn’t matter right now.
Mustering up courage and a booming voice, you tried to act as “Godlike” as possible, explaining this proclamation.
Any vision holder and archon could hunt them down once again, this time under the guise of a game of tag. Those who tag you shall be forgiven. Archon tag you? Their respective nation and people shall be forgiven. A single holder? They and 2 other people. Non vision holders could help, however it was there job to provide any assistance they could to you, if you need it.
They were all so confused, honestly you wish you had captured their expressions with a camera or something, it was an upgrade from faces filled with hate and bloodlust.
You told them all this, made sure the three archons nodded in understanding, and pulling up your map, you smiled, telling them the game had begun.
It was a few days before anyone actually located you, and to your surprise, it was Klee! You hadn’t teleported out of Mondstat, you figured it would be best to be a bit fair to only teleport once after an escaped encounter, and only within the nations that persecuted you so.
So here you were, backed into a corner by the little arsonist, smiling happily at the game. She was young, so she didn’t quite understand the severity of everyone's actions, but she was enjoying this new game and chasing you regardless, and honestly, you were as well! It was fun, dodging her, running around, laughing all the while.
(to be clear, this time you had help of the UI telling where “attacks” were coming from, as well as a infinite stamina you could use. Hey, you weren’t going to let yourself be completely helpless this time!)
Oh, you could just imagine the look on everyone's faces when they learn that Klee was the first person who got to try and tag you.
“Your Grace!” Klee breathed, hands on her knees panting, about 20 feet away from you. “You are sooo fast!” She looked up, smiling brightly. “You really are the best!”
You thanked her, her smile fueling your ambition to make this game be infuriating for the archons and others who mercilessly tried to kill you. She continued talking.
“Me and Dodocco didn’t understand why everyone was so pent up before, but this game is super fun! I’m glad I got to play with you!” You shook your head, realizing that she thought that from the beginning this was all just a game of tag. That was probably for the best. “Although, it is getting kinda dark now, Master Jean is gonna be upset if I stay out for any longer. Thank you for playing with me Your Grace! I love you soooooo much!” She waved before starting her skip back towards Mondstadt, and you couldn’t help but laugh. Opening up your map, you decided to head over to Liyue, seleccting a waypoint close, but not too close, to Liyue Harbor. No doubt this area would be flooded with people as soon as Klee got back.
The second person you ran into was Xiao, who found you pretty quickly.
You admit, you were a bit worried about him getting you, but with a a bit of fiddling with your UI, you figured out how to make it a “quick time event” like old video games you used to play, just as a means to balance out his insane speed.
Xiao's brows were incredibly furrowed and focus during your entire encounter, only saying once how He, and the others, were incredibly sorry for the sins against your divinity. It almost made you wanna call off the game of tag, but when he lunged at you, almost tagging you, you decided against it. What cheap tactics he employed against you was almost hilarious, thanks to the UI you could tell where he was going next, etc.
It took longer then you wanted to admit, but eventually he slumped over, exhausted. “You are a formidable opponent, You Grace.” He shook his head, trying to catch his breath.
You sat down too, not to close to him, so that you could still get away if he decided to try and be sneaky again.
Opening you inventory, you saw that you, out of everything, had Almond Tofu. Had Xiao given you this as an offering before? Probably. Carefully, you scootched over to him, handing it to him before immediately regaining your space. Luckily, he didn’t try anything funny.
You didn’t expect soft tears to fall from his eyes, him hunching over crying gently. He told you how much he loved you, and how much you helped him in his time under Osials rule, and more. You honestly wanted to comfort him, despite the game of tag going on and him trying to impale you.
The whole of Teyvat, especially the nations that did not try to kill you, found the entire thing quite enjoyable. Those from the other nations couldn't help but see themselves as superior for not trying to kill you, despite the fact that they totally would have. Oftentimes you found yourself sleeping in “NPC” villagers, offering you things, their apologies, and more. You didn’t exactly care, to be fair. It was nice to meet the “NPCS” of Teyvat though, the majority of them were really good people.
Here are some crack headcanons cuz why not
You, on the edge of Starsnatch cliff, Jean and other Knights of Favonious blocking your exit. “You are trapped, Your Grace! Surrender, so that this game of cat and mouse shall finally be over!”
You, mulling your options, before having a total “Y/N” moment, falling backwards of starsnatch cliff into the waters below. (Teyvat is obviously going to make sure your fine)
Cue Jean screeching as you wave from the water below, the water carrying you off gently towards Inazuma.
Kayea walks over to Jean, smirking at our antics. “Aren’t you going to go after them? I didn't know you were such a slacker.”
Other ideas/rots
You, sprinting down the streets of Inazuma city “casually”, everyone mouth agape as you carry bottles of dango milk, the Raiden Shogun right behind you, shouting something about the Glory of Inazuma and having dango together.
Diluc absolutely refuses to participate in the game of tag. He does, however, let you use Dawn Winery as a safe haven if you need to rest/etc, and he is more then willing to spar with pesky Knights who wont let you rest. He is quite proud actually he is able to provide this for you, and anyone with half a brain cell can tell. He always was a devout worshipper of you afterall.
You and Klee enjoy running away from Jean, the two of you even teaming up occasionally, Diona offering help as well. The kiddos basically become some of your strongest allies, across all the nations. Diona would yeet waterballoons with her tail like how she uses her special, slowing them all down.
Zhongli wants to try and tag you? No can do, Qiqi is guarding you and zhongli doesn’t quite want to fight a child. Though qiqi would totally square up. Come at me grandpa!
Sayu would totally teach you her ninjitsu arts so you could both sonic the hedgehog around and away from people. Yae Miko finds it hillarious, and is almost wants to join in.
Honestly, there are a ton of different directions this could go in. I feel that just teaching Teyvat different games would be fun in general. Capture the flag, red light green light, etc.
Anyway I thought these were a couple of cute ideas! Lajshsjskwla
Remember to drink water !

"I hate that i still care for you" part 3
part one part two
TORTURE TORTURE TORTURE!!! ruthless god route let's go babey!!!
!!!!!!WARNINGS!!!!!: TORTURE, cult behaviors, implied canibalism, manipulation, mutilation
Requested by @moon--kitty inspired by @birozu 's comment along with @i-put-the-yan-in-polyandry
"Have you ever heard the saying an eye for an eye?" Your smile remained cold and empty, even as the archons you loved so much froze.
Their limbs turned to lead. Shakily, they nodded their heads gravely.
"Good, then you should have an idea about what's about to happen." You stopped forcing your smile and stood. "Weapons." You held out your hand, "I want them. You can have a lower level weapon if you want but the five stars are mine." Your tone was dead and cold, leaving no room for argument nor the god they once cherished. The god they ran over and ignored.
The three archons' hands shook as they gave you their shining illustrious five star weapons. As soon as they were in your possession you threw them to the side uncaringly and the three winced.
"The musou isshin."
"...w-what?" Ei choked out.
Your gaze turned sharp, "Give it to me."
Her voice shook, "B-but-"
"I don't care. You didn't listen to what they had to say, why would I listen to you?" Your gaze was cold and unforgiving. Just as theirs was to the innocent person. Just as theirs were to you. "You will follow my orders or you'll face worse punishment. You've already been piss poor exuses for followers anyways but it's more work but on me. Don't be such burdens."
Ei whimpered and cowered at your ruthless words. With tears in her eyes, she gave you the musou isshin from her chest. Her dear sister's sword.
You took it and looked it over. Marvelling at it for a moment before your eyes shifted back over to Ei. There wasn't a hint of warmth.
"Right arm."
They presented their right arms, shaking, shivering and hesitant.
You nearly felt bad, you nearly falterd. But they didn't feel bad or falter when they were trembling before them. Nor when you were trembling before them, not a clue as to what was happening or where you were.
They never showed mercy to those you demanded them to. You'd show them the same treatment they paraded so proudly.
With a swift three slashes of the Musou Isshin, their arms were gone. Bleeding profusely, tears and stifiled cries fell out of the god's mouths.
Ei regenerated first. As the only god still presiding over her people, she was the strongest. Zhongli and Venti were pratically mortal. Their arms wouldn't grow back much if at all.
"Venti, I want you to change into a different form." You said, flicking the blood off of the Musou Isshin.
Venti, through the pain and tears, furrowed his eyebrows, "W-wha?" He heaved.
"Change into a different form. I don't like your current one." Your words were edged with a cold blade that you pointed at him.
His breath hitched and you could see his heart dropped from the way his eyes fell empty. His face crumpled into despair and he whimpered, "Yes your grace."
You knew the effect your words had on him, his dead friend being the one he based his current form off of and you hated it? He was writhing in physical and emotional pain. Just as you did all that time ago, writhing in pain beneath the three of them. With no mercy.
Venti's form changed into pretty much the oposite of what it was. Short hair, ocean blue eyes, blond hair. You snatched the lyre off of him. He had the mind to reach for it but at your cold glare he pulled away as though burned.
You wanted to break it, to smash it on the floor and watch his eyes break even more than they already have. To watch him cry and scream just as you had.
But it was a lyre.
A lyre you loved and had done nothing to you.
Despite your godly status, unlike the three bowed before you, you still had some humanity left.
You placed the lyre on your throne. The only sign of humanity they'd see from you today.
"Rex Lapis, show me your beast form. I want to see how you really are since you masquerade as a human everyday." You commanded, your voice able to shake the earth. Now, you really sounded like a god.
He paused, gulped, but listened. Due to being "dead" he could only transform into a half dragon form. His arm still gone and on the floor.
With the Musou Isshin you slashed off his horns. Any scraps of pride he had clung onto was cut away with your swing. His horns hit the ground and you grabbed them.
Your cold and empty smile touched your face once again, "These would make for nice decorations don't you think?" Specks of blood littered the base where you had cut. "Only one more touch to make it perfect."
You put the horns at his neck, drawing a small amount of blood at first before slashing a large X from his neck to his chest. Your smile didn't reach your eyes.
"There. Now," You addressed all of them, picking up Zhongli's arm and holding it to his tightly shut lips, "Eat."
Zhongli was too frightened to talk. Ei stuttered, "What-what do mean your grace?" She asked, frantic.
"I mean, eat. I know you don't have to eat Ei but I'm forcing you to." You shrugged nonchalantly, your smile twisted into something more sinister, "Eat it or what's left of your sister will see your humilating demise. How would would Makoto feel if she saw how much your god hated you? Or your friend, Venti? Or Guizhong." They each flinched in turn.
Your smile died along with the spark of light and kindness in your eyes, "They'd be dissapointed in who you are today. Now. Eat."

Dead Wish, Dead Kiss ( genshin x reader )
Summary - Teyvat, a world where those who were blessed by the archons could obtain an elemental ability to aid them in their goals. But a corrupted disease took route, plaguing all seven nations with monsterous populations that far succeeded the power in which archons bestowed.
A world in which now, the few visions that remained untainted by vampires were used for survival.
But survival isn’t what you use your vision for, nor is it what the rest of the Fatui do. Take down each archon, is what is said on the list. Take down the ones who upheld the propaganda and tarnish the world of its evil.
Starting with the Tsaritsa.
Ending with archons from Monstadt and Liyue.
The fate of the world depends on you and your fellow Harbingers, the ones who remain alive and untouched. Very few.
Pairings - gn!reader x various (may end up straying to a f!reader with intimate scenes)
Warnings - Swearing, NSFW, suggestive content
A/N - Ahhh, I really hope I don’t lose motivation for this one, cause I got the plot outline pretty well and everything- :’) The first chapter is short, but its more about propping up the setting and getting the reader to understand the situation.
Taglist - I havent even asked yet lol- but if you want to be part of the taglist for this series let me know!! :3
SECOND CHAPTER IS UP
Tumblr media
Red didn't look good on you.
Not on your white shirt, splatters of crimson coating the lacy ribbon and button up chemise. It didn't show on the black dress pants that you wore, cinching your waist and matting the fabric in a darker shade. Pale gloves stained in blood, you knitted your eyebrows.
“Again? It always gets everywhere…”
Figures behind you shook, hands trembling as they crossed their arms and tried to give an intimidating approach. But it didn't matter, you could see the fear in their eyes when you turned around. When you passed them, exiting the Inazuman styled entrance and the crime scene behind you.
“I expect you should be able to clean this mess,” you said, taking your time when slipping the gloves off your hands. There was no necessity to add anything else, they knew if they protested they’d end up dead like their precious archon.
Footsteps took you farther from the residence, a building with a guild name over it. It may not have had any importance up until now, but it would now serve as the grave for a god. You hoped the place would become haunted, feared by all to serve its reminder. The archons were never eternal, nor was the propaganda they supported. The bloodsucking demon they’d encouraged upon Teyvat, the bloodsucking demon they had become.
You’d just killed the Raiden Shogun.
There was a power in those words, a fear that matted your name. Striking terror in your victims and co-workers all the same, a grin sweeping your face with every kill; every ounce of blood. The adrenaline that pumped through your veins, the guttural screams and cries. You were content with it, the horror you held caged in. The one you unleashed to those who had surpassed humanity and decided to take on a monstrous form.
Vampires.
“Finished already?”
A figure stepped out of the shadows, steps cutting short. You hummed in response to Scaramouche’s nonchalant tone, the smile on your lips saying it all. “One down,” was all you said. “Two more to go.”
Thin fingers slid into yours, clenching your hand tightly as you walked past the cobblestone streets. It was dark, night sweeping through Inazuma and hiding the horrors of their dead archon tucked away.
Scaramouche didn't let go of your hand, not as it made it to the ports, nor when you spotted a mass of ginger hair in the distance. The sea was a bottomless pit of terror in the obscurity, only fancy lanterns strung up on posts to light up the way to the boardwalk. It made the blood on your hands more impactful, more important with no one to spectate and take a glance at your face.
They wouldn't know who had done it.
You could imagine faces constructed in anger, fangs prodding past thin lips and marking a vengeful face. Oh how you wished you could witness it. But the mystery hurt them, and they could only put the blame on the organization that you partook in.
“Fatui scum.”
You found the insult had a melodic tune to it, a resentment that you craved from the vampires who said it. Bloodshot red eyes, fingers twitching to move when they did not know what to do. Frustration, you wished it on the faces of the merciless beasts who had slaughtered your family, the vampires who now terrorized Teyvat and plagued it as a hellhole.
Childe was working on the boat when you and Scaramouche reached him. Hands occupied with rope when he looked up, past you. He dimly registered you both, searching for something more. It was only when his lips parted that he spoke. “Signora?”
You didnt answer.
Simply stepping into the boat, Scaramouche following suite as the watercraft teetered at the new weight. There was an empty tension that said it all, Childe inhaled sharply, numbly unravelling the rope from the wooden post. Before grabbing hold of the ships railing, you put a hand on the gingers back. It was not much, but comfort was forlorn in a world nearly consumed by vampires.
“Two more,” were Childe’s only words. “Two more.”

I wanted to try the sagau friendship thing, I can't remember who the original poster was, so I'm sorry 😭
Tw - swearing, that's all I think
Tumblr media
So for Inazuma, I would be low-key fucked lmao. The only high level friendship I have is with the Raiden.
I'd have to dodge literally everyone, to get to her and that's if the puppet would recognize me and alert Ei.
I have a mid ish friendship with Thoma, so maybe I wouldn't be as bad off as I think.
The Raiden and the fixer on my side?? I'd just have to make it to them first
In Liyue, I have high level friendships with Zonghli, Xiao, Qiqi, Yanfei and Beidou.
I'd be set if I could find Zonghli or Xiao, because as the former archon he'd still have sway over the ruling party of Liyue ( I forgot how to spell it 💀) Xiao could easily protect me from the more... Uh violent ones *Childe* and get me to Morax so he'd be able to vouch for me
Qiqi would be amazing for help with herbs if it was the imposter route, and I just love her so much 💖
It's always good to have the law on your side so Yanfei would be a god send if I was trialed in Liyue
Beidou?? Absolutely fucked if you think I'd be able to glide there from that tall ass pillar at the stone forest 😭 thank fuck they added the waypoint on her ship. Other then that, she'd be a great person to have on my side, mained her since the beginning 💖 if I got caught, she could easily hide me away in the ship, though I do suppose not having Kazuha would make it a bit more dangerous...
In Mondstat, I am SET I tell you, SET. It is my absolute favorite place, I love everything about it and I have high friendships with most of the people there ( Venti come home pls)
Jean, Diluc, Kayea (my main), and Rosaria, all are at level 10 friendship, so most of the people in power would be on my side. The knights wouldn't go after me as the acting grand master and the calvary captain would help me.
Diluc, as we know, is a powerful man, as the richest man in Mondstat and possibly teyvat, he holds alot of sway over others and would hopefully be able to at least stop people from attacking me. I also love him so much, i also main him lmao.
Rosaria, could easily fucking K.O me if she wanted to, the hidden protector if Mondstat' that's basically an assassin? Yeah I'd be dead if I didn't have her on my side.
I have midish to kinda high levels with Lisa, amber, Bennet, razor and Barbra so at least they wouldn't attack me on sight.
The only ones Id have to worry about would be Venti, which rip to me if he finds me first, and Eula. I think that's all.
Mondstat would be the safest place for me to go to overall, with Liyue second and Inazuma last.

I know we have a reverse au/reader is from the abyss au but in light of recent certain content (possible spoilers btw!)
What if reader was from Enkanomiya, had the blood of the watatsumi retainers, so they probably have those vishap forms (and a cool looking set of eyes) so they appear in liyue with a mask like Tsumi from the event! By this time, childe would have been turned into mothman and Zhongli is keeping an eye on him.
He is probably very curious about the not-so-human reader like??? You smell like a lizard but ur clearly a human... and the mask! Are u like him perhaps?
So he just... stays by your side, going all over you like some sort of cute dog curious about ur scent. He finds comfort in it after being with you for so long! Zhongli leaves him to you (and simultaneously leaving you to him, just in case)
And then in a hurt/comfort kind of deal, when mothman is revealed to be the one who nearly drowned liyue, everyone hated him obviously. So your only option was to go back to Enkanomiya and maybe spend your days there terrorizing the local hilichurl or two or maybe fighting some abyss herald or lector. Childe would find comfort in there, being near the abyss and constantly fighting!
Ofc since the reader is also a vassal/retainer of watatsumi, they welcome them with open arms so if it gets too lonely, reader and childe can have a date in Watatsumi :)
If you have any brainrots to add please I beg add them I love Enkanomiya and the continuous lore we are getting from it so adding my favorite mothman and Enkanomiya is a big glee from me!
HOLY HOLY SHIT YOU. YOU COME CLOSER. *SHAKES YOU* THIS IS AMAZING YES ENKANOMIYA MY BELOVED
(event spoilers abound lads!!!)
alright alright consider this- you're a descendant of the Vassals of Watatsumi and therefore have more experience and intuition when it comes to divine creatures like Vishaps or Archons or Abyssal monsters, yeah? what if you go to Liyue because you noticed the Abyssal darkness that Enjou (ENJOU MY BELOVED) released as part of the Abyss and Vishaps' deal beginning to affect the environment (maybe you're less affected at first because you're only partially non-human), and you want to seek help from an Archon who isn't the Raiden Shogun because she's not going to help anyways, and the next nearest nation is Liyue.
of course you're crushed to find that Rex Lapis is apparently dead, as he was basically the best choice to perhaps help you with this situation, and spend a few days wandering the city both to grieve and observe human life. eventually you run into Zhongli, who immediately sees that you're non-human and consoles you over Rex Lapis' "death" (Zhongli you FUCK) and you two quickly become friends. he keeps teaching you about life outside Enkanomiya and one day takes you back to his house, where you meet Childe.
and Childe is IMMENSELY curious about you, from your mask to your clothes to your odd scent to the mysterious Enkanomiya you mention in conversation, and he sticks around you and both of you become very, very close, which is exactly what Zhongli had in mind.
even though you're decently happy in Liyue, you DO want to go back to Enkanomiya and begin preparing for the trip back. Childe is crestfallen and whimpers and nudges your hands the entire time that you're planning a route- he desperately wants to stay with you, he likes you very much!!! Zhongli eventually asks you to take Childe with you, as he can't stay in the Harbor due to the Osial incident, and you agree as Childe chirps happily and snuggles against your neck.
when you get back to Enkanomiya, though, the entire land is shrouded in darkness from the Towers of the Void. Childe loves it, the Abyssal magic resonating with him and the thrill of battle returning, but he notices you're not faring well. in fact because you're a Vassal descendant the Abyssal darkness affects you as well, and you're gradually getting sicker as it poisons you. eventually it cumulates in you collapsing one day and not getting up when Childe nudges you, like a dead sort of sleep.
and so Childe's left alone again, with your ill, fretfully sleeping self.

Say My Name and I’ll Be There: 6.1
Twenty-four hours, thirty minutes, ten seconds and counting.  Xiao continued to pace outside of Dawn Winery in complete silence.  He still hadn't heard a single word from you, and he had stayed awake all night.  Not really a sacrifice since he pulled all-nighters frequently, but his hopes were crushed when his long night was filled with nothing but silence.
Inside, Aether approached Diluc rather quickly with Paimon in tow.  "How would you like to kill Fatui?"
"I beg your pardon?"  Diluc set his glass of grape juice on his desk.  He had been busy with mapping the next wine delivery route when they suddenly barged through his doors.  He kind of wished they had the kindness to knock, but the desperate glints in their eyes caught him off guard.
"We said, how would you like to kill the Fatui?" Paimon crossed her arms.
"We need to infiltrate Snezhnaya.  They took her."
"'Her?'"  Diluc raised a brow, already annoyed by the vagueness of their requests.
"Ugh, the same girl from yesterday! Who earned her cryo vision!  She was taken last night at your tavern! Didn't you see us all run out?"  Paimon's brows furrowed impatiently.
"We need to infiltrate Snezhnaya," Aether repeated and took a step forward.  "We can't do it without you on our team."
"Hold on," Diluc waved a hand to silence them.  "We can't just infiltrate a foreign country.  There are laws and regulations you have to--"
"That's why we came to you!" Paimon yelled.  "If anyone can get us in there, it's you and your underground connections!"
"You hate the Fatui more than anything," Aether continued.  "Will you help us?"
Diluc thought for a moment while he traced the rim of his glass with his index finger.  "We can't recklessly barge into enemy territory.  I'll see what intel I can gather.  Wait here."
Xiao burst through the doors almost as if he had seen a ghost--actually, that would be an inaccurate metaphor since he's quite experienced with the spirits of the dead.  No matter.  He burst through the doors as pale as a sheet.  "I hear her."
..................................................
You glared at the third plate of food that sat upon the stool Childe left in your cell.  You had refused to eat the prior two meals while he was in the cell with you.  He had your cuffs unlocked so you could eat, but you refused to move from your place against the wall.  Cooked fish, some sort of vegetable, and white rice.  They were treating you well.  You were needed alive and healthy, after all, but you weren't hungry.  And since Childe had finally left you alone, well, that gave you the chance to talk to the only person you could.
Xiao.  Xiao! The thought of startling him brought a thin smile to your lips.  I wonder if I scared you...I'm safe--well, as safe as I can be at the moment.  I miss you... Your smile faded.  But I  cannot call for you.  It's too dangerous; I'm sure they already have a way to capture you.  Now that I know you're always listening, it's nice to talk like this.  Less lonely.
Something clinked against the outer cell door, and it opened.  Childe and one of the harbingers you saw yesterday entered.  The latter held a strange white-and-gray mask that obscured everything besides part of his right cheek and lips.  His bluish-white hair almost seemed to brighten the small room from how light it was.
"It's a sign of disrespect if you refuse to eat the food provided for you," Childe commented once he saw that your plate was yet again untouched.  "We're treating you with more hospitality than our prisoners, after all."
"This is still imprisonment.  Screw off," you brought your knees to your chest as if your legs served to protect you from their stares.
"Ah, yes," the other harbinger picked the plate up and placed it at your feet.  "My test subject needs to eat.  I suggest you do it by your own will before I see to it myself."
"You might want to listen to him."  Childe was warning you, but not out of consideration for you.
"Go to hell!" You threw the plate at the new harbinger since he was closest, and covered his tidy suit in food.  The white rice mostly clung to the fabric.  Thank the archons that your shoulder was healed and your arm could be put to good use now.
"Listen here, you little--"  The man grabbed you by the collar and lifted you like you weighed nothing until your feet dangled above the ground.  "I don't have the patience of the Tsaritsa's war dog.  I do things quite differently, and you are under my jurisdiction now.  See to it that you follow my orders to the tee, or I can make things very unpleasant here on out."  He dropped you to the floor and exited the cell.
Childe gave you a look of 'I told you so' as he followed suite.
...............................................
What day is it? Your hazy mind stared at the opposite wall.  You lazily traced figure-eights over your tattered jeans.  Approximately twenty-one meals were served--and wasted-- so maybe it was day seven?  A full week of sitting in this barren room?
A few days of no nutrition were of no consequence to you; you were a light eater anyway.  But by day five you were beginning to get dizzy from your voluntary starvation.  You slept most of the day.  The slightest of movements made the world spin around you.  Thoughts of giving in and digging into the meals crossed your mind several times.
I will not falter.  They will not get what they need from me.  I'll starve before they can have me, you gave yourself the pep talk over and over again.  The hours that were filled with zero social interaction drove you mad; you'd either talk to yourself, or to Xiao, who you only hoped could still hear you and maybe even reply in his own mind.  It was a shame the conversation couldn't go both ways.
"I miss you," you murmured a breath.  "If I get out of this, would you like to go eat almond tofu with me?"
Childe entered quietly, and knelt in front of you after giving your full plate the side-eye.  "This little hunger strike of yours needs to stop.  You need to eat."  You didn't answer, and he let out a small sigh.  "Il Dottore finished his set-up this morning.  I'm sure he'll be ready to take you from under my watch by tomorrow at the latest."  He sat down now, and examined you carefully.
I didn't think we'd break her this quickly,  he thought.  Such a stubborn personality reduced to this pathetic heap of a woman.  A slim smile spread across his lips when he realized how much he loved watching you break under the pressure.
"Leave," you breathed.
"You're smarter than I thought, you know."  Childe placed his chin on the hand that was propped up on his leg.  "If you really thought he had a chance at defeating us, you would have called for Xiao by now.  You've isolated yourself from the only person that caught your eye."
That's what you think, you scoffed.  I've been talking to him this whole damn time.
"Or have you been praying to him?"  Childe's eyes narrowed and the grin on his lips only widened.  The small glance you sent him validated his question.  "You're telling me that this great and mighty adeptus has heard your suffering, and has yet to do a single thing about it?  Are you really sure he's reliable? Oh, ojou-chan," he clicked his tongue and shook his head at you.  "He won't neglect his duties to protect Liyue to come save you."
"You don't know him like I do," a bit of fighting spirit entered your hoarse voice, and your eyes began to glow.
"Oh, but I do.  An ancient yaksha that's at least half the age of Morax himself, falling in love with a human girl?  Is that what you're expecting from him?"  The words cut deeper than his blade had cut through your shoulder.  "You really believe such a hardened soul could learn to love in as quickly as a single human lifetime?  Ojou-chan, open your eyes.  He does not care for you, and he couldn't even if he tried.  Look around you, ojou-chan.  You're still here, in this dark cell, and he's where?  In Mondstat? Liyue?  He doesn't seem to care all too much about you."
"That's because I told him to stay away," you growled, eyes shining brighter.  You curled your fists and prepared to strike him if he had the audacity to continue spewing nonsense.  "You know, you have your entire life to be a jerk.  Why don't you take today off?"
"Even if he did save you, there's no future with him.  You will continue to chase after the illusion of love with him for the rest of your life, only to die alone with your youth wasted.  Even if you escaped, you would be on the run for your entire life, hiding away from the preying eyes of the Fatui.  Is that worth an escape, if you can no longer truly live?
"You're better off working with us, following Dottore's orders, and gaining the trust of the Tsaritsa.  You can make a life for yourself here if you decide to survive.  But out there," he pointed toward the cell door.  "Out there, you will not live."
"You know, your ass must be pretty jealous of all the shit that comes out of your mouth!"  You yelled as he exited the cell.  Your plate collided with the door right as it closed.  Hot tears stained your cheeks once you were left alone.
He's only trying to break you into submission, you soothed yourself as you hugged your legs.  They felt thinner than usual.  He's just trying to break me.  But why do his words...make me feel so upset?  You buried your face into your knees.  Maybe he's right.
......................................................
"So the guard schedules all overlap? There's no way in?"  Paimon looked over the scattered notes on Diluc's table.  Most of them held ineligible scribbles on them, and she furrowed her brows because of it.
"This was all you were able to gather in a week?"  Aether pulled at his hair and sighed heavily.
"Not many are willing to oppose the Fatui," said Diluc.  "It took all my resources to get this much.  We don't know the interior layout of the castle other than the main exits and entrances.  But I did manage to find us a caravan that leaves at dawn tomorrow."
"Finally!"  Paimon huffed.  "Something useful!"
"I am sorry I haven't been of use to you all," Zhongli bowed his head in a sincere apology.  "It has been years since I've last seen Snezhnaya and the cryo archon."  You meant a great deal to the group, and Zhongli probably took your abduction the hardest since he could not intervene with the Tsaritsa and her plans.
"At least we finally have enough of a foundation to squeeze out a plan!"
"Have you heard from her at all today, Xia--?"  Aether interrupted himself.  "Are...you okay?"
All eyes turned to antisocial yaksha that stood at the back of the room.  It was a small thing the traveler had noticed, but it was significant enough that it totally contradicted everything Xiao was.
He was crying.
First,  you asked to eat with him when this was all over.  Then an overwhelming sense of dread and helplessness flooded his mind like a tsunami.  A single tear rolled down his cheek and he hastily wiped it away.  A tear?
"Stay out of my way," he disappeared from the room and manifested outside.  What was this unfamiliar clenching in his chest?  This clenching in his throat?  The way his hands tingled and his eyes stung?  The afternoon sun seemed to worsen it.
"Xiao," a deep voice spoke behind him, and he turned to face it.  Zhongli placed a large hand on the yaksha's head and closed his eyes for a moment.  When he released his grip, he too, felt the same pain in his chest.
"She's in pain," the yaksha murmured.  "Every day she grows weaker.  Her strength, it...diminishes."  While it was a blessing to know you were alive, it was also a curse.  He could hear the uncertainty in your voice when you prayed, and the way you hesitate to speak to him each passing day.  The centuries of hardened walls blocking the yaksha from emotion grew weaker the more you did.
"Your bond has grown," the archon explained the physical and mental phenomena Xiao was being put through.  "You feel her emotions, just as she feels yours."
"Rid me of them," Xiao ordered.  "I have no need for the emotions of a human."
"She is no longer the only one that holds human emotions.  You care for her deeply, do you not?"  No answer. Blank stare. "I'm certain you've contemplated and understood my words in Qingce Village by now."  Zhongli's eyes followed the ascending path of two cranes flying overhead.  "You wish to rescue her, even though Liyue requires your protection?  You're worried I won't grant your request?"
"...Yes."
"Worry no longer; it is granted.  But be warned, Guardian Yaksha, emotions cannot be permanently ignored.  They will rise to the forefront sooner or later,"  his gaze returned to Xiao's.  "You best be sure to share them before they fall on the ears of an early grave."
