VERY LONG POST

It was supposed to be a little rant about Twisted Wonderland, it became a treatise (no, but almost):

So, I love the Diasomnia book. It's soooo good (also considering the type of game).

Lilia is enchanting me, Meleanor (or Malenoa) has enchanted me. She couldn't be more beautiful than this. We've seen her so little and yet in my opinion she is one of the most successful characters in Twisted Wonderland. She is the summary of what Twisted Wonderland should be, the dark side that reconciles with unconditional love. And with her being mother she introduces the concept which is the basis of Lilia and Silver (and also Malleus I presume), that is the concept of "true love". It's a blow to the heart, it's the key to development that can completely change things.

Ah, but then you know how to do things well.

And here comes my complaint: I start directly from the game first. I understand that Diasomnia is the main dorm and that Malleus (where are you Malleus?) is our front man. All right. But if they can do something like that now, then they could do at least half of this for the other characters too. Did they do it? Obviously not, or at least not for the most part. No, because if the other media have to come and explain to us the underlying reasons for the other Overblots then something is wrong. If to understand what the guys who are alongside us are doing and what they think I have to read the novel then yes, I get a little angry. Because they knows how to do things for heaven's sake.

Mind you, I'm not saying that Diasomnia can't have more screentime (also because they're giving us information on world building and who says anything), I'm simply talking about good writing and commitment to the characters that have been created. Also because there are already problems of opinion, if the writing is lascivious and incomprehensible, well, see you!

And here's the second point. I don't usually make posts like this, but this comes following a post I saw (I won't say how or where), where there was a clear devaluation of the other chapters and character issues in favor of Diasomnia. So, as much as can be forgivable addressing imaginary characters in a certain way (yes, they are all invented, they have neither merits nor demerits for being what they are, only the tragedy of being written badly in some cases), the treating some topics such as those of Riddle, or Azul or Jamil lightly or insensitively is questionable to say the least. And it can be offensive.

Just as I'm tired of hearing that Leona's problem is "jealousy". No, and even if the writing of the Savanaclaw arc (let alone the translation) doesn't help, no. He's not just jealous, just as Vil isn't just jealous. But I'm not here to do psychological analysis of characters that probably some wouldn't even understand.

You may not understand, yes, we have the right to not understand (especially, I repeat, given the weaknesses that are in the game). Fine, but it's our limit and we keep our head down and we keep quiet, or ask for things to be explained to us. There is no need to devalue, insult or mock the characters, because those characters are loved by someone, and there is a reason they are chosen. Revelation: no, if you like something you don't do it any good by devaluing the rest, but rather you throw that thing in the mud too. I'm not just talking about Twisted Wonderland, I'm also talking about your favorite author, your book or your anime character.

Guys, it's a matter of respect, you are not superior to anyone, and you are few. Come on, we are together, everyone waves their flag but high fives with those who are next to you.

having an aro grumble about everything having romance in it. man i'm trying to read a book about fun funky urban fantasy weirdos, why must it be like this. there's enough plot! i promise you don't need another plot! it's got nothing to do with literally anything!

saw a news clip where a mother was talking about how if her kid sees stories about anyone queer that they'll become queer, and I so badly wanted to reach through the screen and grab her by the face and ask a couple questions. cause. its. do they think their kids are so subservient they will immediately become anything they are exposed to? And if so, cant you just hold up a sign that says 'you're straight' and they'll jump right back to that instead? Are they so pliable that they can't hold onto what you (probably) taught them that they shouldn't be queer? Are they so incapable of making a decision? And! How cool do they think pride and being antiracist is? Do they think there are siren powers involved? Does the progress flag have secret hypontism powers I didn't know about? how tenuous a hold do they think they have on straightness here. Do they think they are a single thread away from the dam collapsing and that thread can be cut by accidentally seeing two dudes cuddling? How delicate a snowflake do you think your kid is that they can't even be exposed to something you consider deviant? Does the facade crumble that fast? And, Are you projecting? Are you one good lesbian rom com away from confessing to your best friend? Do they think their kid literally cannot resist the seductive allure of mass produced, highly sanitized rainbow merch from corporations?

And yea, I know, its because they think of it like an infection or a stain. An immutable shift once you become any percentage of queer or accepting, or, saints preserve us, a lil bit woke, that it cannot be undone. I know. But I really wanted to grab this lady and make her say it, instead of the conversation being left as 'we have to remove all of this filth for the sake of the poor impressionable children' and maybe, idk, we could ask some follow ups.

These companion mods are unhinged. Why are people obsessed with changing their faces and erasing their scars?? Literally the best part of the companions is how real they are. They have laugh lines, and scars, and some of them have a start of grey hairs, and I just...trying to make them 'perfect' and 'flawless' makes me irrationally angry.

Amazon totally screwed me over with the changes in their guidelines (likely because they started using AI, but that's just my guess based on their explanation), so my books that were previously in global distribution were taken off and I have to redo all of their PDF files and apply for global distribution again to make them available in online bookstores like they were before...

I'm currently ill so I don't have the energy to deal with this extra workload, so I'm just watching InuYasha instead.

Thankfully all my books remain available through Lulu, which is the link I've been sharing anyway, so there is no change in the availability if you wanted to buy one. I'm still frustrated because obviously this lowers the visibility - and at a really bad time too. *sighs*

At least this time I can't blame Lulu for the problem, and their customer support was helpful as usually.

Every time I see a post where someone says something along the lines of "please don't pluck your eyebrows, btw, they'll never grow back," I get so frustrated.

I've plucked my eyebrows since I was 15 or something – definitely over a decade. And I'm sure that for some people, they won't grow back, and that really thin eyebrows or entirely removing your eyebrows is a bad idea, but like. You can be normal about plucking eyebrows. I just don't want a bushy monobrow, and plucking my eyebrows is something that makes me happy and more confident in how I look.

Your experiences with plucking eyebrows are not universal, and some of us actually have learned how to do it with restraint.

So, The Emperor gets a whole 10 minute intimate/sex scene, and Wyll seems to get...nothing?!?

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the Emperor's scene, and I'm more than happy that they gave us Halsin (I was one of the people that was asking for him during Early Access) but like...could they not have added that stuff in for us and given us Minthara as well because we asked, AFTER they had worked on Wyll? Where is his stuff? Why does he feel like such an after thought?

Gale was always going to be my main squeeze because I attach to game characters quick, but I always thought I'd get to go through multiple runs and see what everyone's stories were. The more I see, I feel like Wyll got sidelined in his own game, while the other characters that they added in after the fact, have gotten way more attention, and it's just sad. If anyone wants to prove me wrong, so be it, but all I see is a whole lot of DISAPPOINTMENT.
