My redneck neighbor Doug's interpretations on various 'Bad Batch' characters: Side Character Edition!

I'm chuffed that everyone thinks my neighbor Doug is funny: he really is a gem. I had no idea we'd bond over Star Wars and crappy weather, but here we are.

Naturally, I had to bother him about other characters that showed up on The Bad Batch, so, here we go!

Phee Genoa: Ah-ha, that there’s Church Lady. You know her, she’s got a big square in her pocketbook and you don’t know if it’s pound cake or a brick, because the Lord saves but He can’t help you in the alley when you’re in Treme and the streetlights just turned on. She has two ex-husbands who are both preachers and they turned to Jesus because they are so scared of Church Lady in court.

(So I guess he’s saying Phee has raw WHO DAT energy, for my Saints fans out there)

Cid: Looking at this fat lizard bitch makes me hungry. I call that one Houma-BBQ because I’m guessing we could feed a whole parish fire station based on the size of her tail. I wish she’d shut up, she reminds me of my mother-in-law.

Cad Bane: Homeboy looks like a Sesame Street character who teaches Big Bird about concealed carry laws. I call him Gun Safety Muppet. I don’t like him because he shot my Wife and I’s Boyfriend on the other show and his robot needs to be tossed into a wood chipper.

Mayday: Aw, I liked this guy so much! That’s Sassy Park Ranger, he’s the type that gives you your camping permits, warns you about the bears, and then is all disappointed when you don’t properly stow your food and the bears destroy the campsite. I need to go back to Little River Canyon, that place was pretty.

Lt. Nolan: THAT STUPID BLOND JACKASS. (Doug was so enraged by the guy he had nothing else to add. Damn.)

Senator Chuchi: Why does this lady make me want a blue slushie? I’ll call her the Sonic Special. They need more Sonics here in the north, they really do.

Cody: That’s Obi-Wan’s Boyfriend, he’s sad all the time. We know why. (Confirmed that Doug is a Codywan shipper and I don’t know what to do about that)

Royce Hemlock: Is that Jimmy Neutron after he grew up and became one of those guys that’s on the internet all the time writing creepy things? It’s Jimmy-the-Scientist. He looks like the type of person dogs get weird around.

Ao Guang's Weird Day part 2:

Pissed-off Parent!Wukong is a side of the Monkey King that Ao Guang did not expect to encounter. Only recently it seemed like the demon was a pup smashing down his door for a weapon. When did he have time to cultivate a whole family?

I'm liking the idea of Ao Guang being so confused/curious by all the in-fighting that he pulls the gang into different interrogation rooms for some answers. Muppets Most Wanted song for an idea of how quickly it turns nuts. Mostly because Nezha is a hated enemy of the east sea (Ao Bing situation), and Pigsy taught MK never to speak to cops without a lawyer. Wukong strangely enough is very eager to spill the beans once he gets Fire Star on the phone.

Ao Guang: "You understand the severity of stealing the Map to the Samadhi Fire, don't you Wukong?" Wukong, holding the two youngest babies: "Yes. And I hope Mac suffers just a little bit for it." Ao Guang, blinks: "So it was no you who stole the Map? But your mate?" Wukong: "Well it was sorta a team effort. DBK and Red Son have been helping us investigate what LBD has been up to. Plus tracking down my damn husband - and they ran into eachother at Nezha's place. DBK had to go home cus he got hurt shielding the kids from the Map's barrier." Ao Guang: "And... where were you in all this?" Wukong: "I was with my kids??? Dude, I'm not that reckless! I was supervising MK's transformation training outside the city when LBD attacked us with her bony-mech thing." Ao Guang: "But the Staff. How did she obtain it?" Wukong: "MK went to strike at the mech and what looked like some sort of reactor? The missing Trigram Furnace." Ao Guang, pales: "Please tell me you're joking." Wukong: "Wish I was. What ever she did to modify the Furance literally absorbed the Staff, and even most of our powers, like how the Rhino King's ring did. I'm really worried it could absorb other weapons too." Ao Guang: (*realising Macaque was right that the Samadhi Fire might be the best plan against the Bone Demon*) Ao Guang: "Shit." Wukong, covering the babies' ears: "Language!"

Meanwhile Mei and the Eclipse Twins (shadow powers duh. Dragon guards didn't take that into account that they could slip under the door) are busy stealing back the Map and breaking the rest of the Gang out. Wukong's interrogation gets cut short cus MK and Mac bust in to haul him and the babies to the newly-constructed TEA.

Oh and in lieu of Macaque's shadow clones attacking the East Sea?

Well... my ideal Lady Bone Demon has control over all bones and bone-related beings that she has influenced with her icy-crystal-like corruption.

And whats down in the sea?

Plesiosaur fossils and whale falls. Imagine gettign attacked by that.

Baby Yuebei: (*little nerdy squeak that sounds like she's trying to say "Dinosaur!!"*) :D! Macaque: "Aw. She's interested in dinosaurs now?" Wukong: "Yes, ever since she found an ammonite on the beach." Macaque, adoring: "Our little girl is so smart." Wukong, reluctantly sappy: "Yeah..."

Meanwhile the entire East Sea is freaking tf out and smashing skeletons, while the noodle shop gang get away in the TEA.

Ok last bunch of asks, I need a break after today 😂 Thanks for writing in!

I don’t think they will play Aziraphale and Crowley, NG isn’t stupid, neither anyone else who’s putting money into the show. They might shove them somewhere as background or some other role but not playing the two mains. Season 2 already got slapped for not the best plot and how Michael and David saved it with their chemistry. Nobody will try to replace them.

Also considering neither of them have a problem with dressing up as women, David already did for the Nanny part in the show, so to suddenly switch them for female partners would create a lot of backlash because of suggesting men shouldn’t do it.

Im not sure about AL but I wouldn’t be surprised if NG would pull GT into it unfortunately. DT shoves his whole family wherever he can.

I was completely indifferent to both of them but fans were responsible for me starting to dislike them to be fair. I’m still mostly indifferent, I couldn’t care less about them, just comment if they do anything good/bad because people ask me, but after that they’re gone from my thoughts. I don’t think they deserve *hate*, but indifference or dislike based on their actions - everyone is allowed to make that basic decision for themselves yes. Fans really don’t help with their demands to love partners of idols and that’s in every fandom out there.

If they were to bond they would have bonded a long time ago and I wish they never started this whole wife thing because it only highlighted how much they don’t care about each other. The thing is, they shouldn’t be required to “bond”. Just because Michael and David fell for each other, it doesn’t mean the women must bond too. There is age and character difference between them, and I don’t think bonding over failed careers and depending on men and getting knocked up on the one night stand would be healthy. Georgia has her best friends, Anna could do with making friends her own age preferably away from the business.

No matter whether someone likes them or not, to expect them to be treated on the same level as Michael and David is insane. And it drives me insane when people think they have the talent to play female version of Crowley and Aziraphale. MS and DT have years of experience in the business and to compare them is a pure insult to them. They got in that business through their hard work too, not a famous surname supporting them.

You are NEVER required to love your idols’ partner/family. That’s just shit that fandoms come up with. Nobody in real world goes oh that actor is neat… oh no I need to love his whole family now!

AL and GT acting “careers” are based on famous surnames supporting them. If they were good someone else would have picked them up. I’m not going to pretend they’re good to be a good little fan according to the fandom. I’d rather be disliked in the fandom than lie to myself and others.

If someone wants to suck up to them, love them, that’s absolutely fine, but to expect others to do so is just a no.

When you think about it, knowing that any shit you post will be seen as iconic… and you don’t have much to show for yourself… well yeah. You’d be raiding on people loving you for simply having the famous surname. Imagine the world where you have to do nothing and people think you deserve the best roles and all the love and being called a queen. Neat. What a sweet life of privilege.

I think with her liking to put him down especially on his big days shows her insecurity. It’s never about him, it’s always about her on those days. It’s sad. I’m glad he now has MS who makes it all about him on those big days. And after too.

I hate those selfies tbf. It’s like… this is your moment to say damn my awesome man got an award. But no it’s “mine” and her holding it and making him take the selfie, or her staring into a camera and making him snuggle up to her for show to show where his place is. Bleh. If she was comfortable with who she is, she wouldn’t need to remind him of his place every time it’s supposed to be his happy day.

And I’m aware majority thinks those selfies are cute - good for them, I wish I thought that too, but they give me the creeps instead.

love in second-period drama class

Luke Egan is absolutely ready.

He’s the youngest student in his drama class at school – the only freshman – and the junior girls love him. They really do. Whenever they have to write their own sketches, this group of three junior girls always want him in their group, and they always feature him in a part. Last week, when their prompt was nightclub, they had him play “Tony Manero, but he can’t dance.” It was a hit.

But Misty Meuller seemed to like it best.

Misty Meuller, with the light brown hair, like an old jazz standard. It almost feels surreal to have a class with her. She’s one of the popular kids, a frontrunner for next year’s homecoming queen, and maybe the sweetest girl Luke has ever met. Somehow, by the grace of God and all the prayers Luke says at school Mass, she doesn’t have a boyfriend, either.

And that probably means she doesn’t have a date for this year’s homecoming dance.

Luke doesn’t share his plans with anyone. His friends don’t know. They’re too immature to understand what it really means to like a junior. They’d think it was all about sex, but Luke knows it’s more than that with him and Misty. They really make each other laugh. Last week, when she was pretending to be Tony Manero’s dance partner, she had Luke in stitches. It’s only been a month, but Luke thinks they really get each other. Why else would she always want to sit next to him? She could sit next to anybody.

Chris seems to know something about it, somehow. On their way to school, less than two hours before Luke plans to ask Misty to the dance, Chris says something about how Luke always has a crush on older women. He rattles off a litany: Mom’s best friend Ruby, her other friend Mary, that picture of Mary’s daughter whom he’s never met, Raquel Welch on The Muppet Show, the lunch lady in elementary school. He would have gone on if Luke hadn’t punched him in the arm. It was well worth Mom snapping at him not to punch Chris in the arm. What does he know, anyway? He’s in seventh grade already, his best friend is a girl, and he doesn’t even have a crush on her. Damn kids.

Drama class begins the same way everyday. Their teacher, Mrs. Hopkins, makes them do breathing and trust exercises for ten minutes. Like always, Luke and Misty Meuller are partners. As they breathe in and out, Luke tells Misty he has something important to discuss.

“Is it that scene where we make fun of The Andy Griffith Show?” she asks. “I mean, I’ve seen a few episodes, but I’m really worried the rest of the class isn’t going to get it.”

“It’s not that,” Luke says. “And The Andy Griffith Show is awesome. Everybody will get that.”

“I don’t know. I thought Angela’s Happy Days idea was a little more universal.”

“It’s not about that. It’s not about class, and it’s not about any sitcoms with Ron Howard in them. It’s about the homecoming dance.”

Misty’s eyes light up. So, it’s on her mind!

“Oh, Luke!” she says. “Are you going?”

“Well, I was planning on it.”

“That’s so great! Do you have a date?”

His heart feels like it’s going to split in half and pop out both of his ears. Misty grins at him, those big brown eyes like the prettiest doe in the woods. Maybe Luke will die before asking her to the dance. Maybe that’s what he wishes for, actually.

No such luck. He’s still breathing, and he’s still suffering the world’s worst case of teenage tachycardia.

“Not yet,” Luke says. “I was actually wondering if … well, if you wanted to go with me.”

The powdered blush on Misty’s cheeks looks unnatural now.

“Oh,” she finally says. “Well …”

“I never see you with any guys like that,” Luke says. “And I figured … I don’t know, I figured I must have won the lottery or something. I know I’m …”

“The sweetest,” Misty interrupts. “But I think we got our … my boyfriend graduated last year. He goes to Eastern. Hey, isn’t that where your mom teaches?”

Luke swallows hard.

“Yeah,” he says.

“Cool. Maybe he’s in one of her classes.”

“I doubt it, unless he really likes learning about Shirley Chisholm and Betty Friedan.”

Misty makes a face like she – somehow – doesn’t know who either of those women are. Luke represses the urge to shake his head. Maybe she wasn’t such a great dream date after all.

“Anyway, I got a guest pass for him yesterday,” Misty says. “He’s taking me to the dance. He’s a little beyond it now, but I’d feel like I was missing out if I went without him. You know?”

Luke nods, even though he can’t begin to imagine it.

“But, hey,” Misty keeps trying. “Maybe I could help find a girl for you to ask. Like another freshman.”

Another freshman.

Sounds like Luke’s worst nightmare.

But he nods and tells Misty Meuller he thinks that would be a great idea.

At least he’ll get to spend more time with her.

Unneeded rant/analysis about how much I love the Scarecrow from BTAS/TNBA:

Okay so, I’m like, really new to tumblr but I fucking love the scarecrow. Not only does he have the best design out of any other rendition of Scarecrow, like EVER, but his character is just perfect.

Now, every character from BTAS save for like.. one or two are incredibly interesting, and as much as I could equivilently explain how much I adore THEM I think the scarecrow definitely stands out the most. And this is not only because of his constant battle between self and villian persona but also because he serves as a great look into the scarecrow years to come. He WAS the blueprint, even if he wasn’t the first rendition.

Scarecrow first debuts in the ‘Nothing to Fear’ episode. It was the third produced one but the tenth to be aired. In it, we are shown scarecrows ‘debut’, where he’s a skinny scrawny ass man. He sports a red top with a muppet looking head, that’s like, the best I can do for him honestly. Now, I’m BTAS scarecrows number one Pookie, but this man looked ROUGH. It was clear that he was inspired by the comic versions of scarecrow, but even the creator himself fucking hated the design so much that he literally destroyed all traces of it. Imagine being such a god damn hater of your characters design you fr destory all the known concepts for it.

OKOK, design aside, this episode was INTERESTING, because it totally went against the formula that was set for villians! Typically villians have a tragic backstory which drives them to revenge, and while yes, Jonathan Crane does have tragic backstories that I do think work better in other Batman medias, I think it’s interesting to show Jonathan BEING the bully. HE was the one that tourmented others, and he enjoyed it! He enjoyed it so much that he tortured others as a professor and pretty much got away with it until he was fired. He’s literally the same thing that would drive a villian to crime and it’s SO GOOD! Or at least I think it is.

I think that making the Scarecrow a bully is fitting, however the idea that he was bullied and uses fear to control and never feel bullied again is interesting.. but rather overused. I really wish that he had more backstory, but that one episode is pretty much all we get. This same episode shows us what the scarecrow is pretty much like, although I do think this changes pretty drastically. As the episodes progress scarecrow slowly develops to be more complex, but we don’t have that yet, and as far as we know he’s a cold, calculating villian that thinks he’s far too good to be working with his henchmen (he fuckin hates them). He relys on brains rather than brawn, which made it interesting that he didn’t even partner up with riddler in BTAS *cough*.

Okay okay, just to go back to his design, I think it might have been intentional to give scarecrow a big, bulking coat because we all known damn well he’s scrawny. I’d imagine he does this to look more intimidating, since scarecrow in his villian costume.. doesn’t. Which was also a big issue. For a man obsessing over fear, he sure wasn’t scary himself, and he seemed to get scared easily.

As shown in the episode ‘lock-up’, Jonathan can get intinadated easily and even frightened, which I think is interesting as many other renditions of scarecrow are TOO scared to play into territory like that. He’s practically begging Batman to let him go so he doesn’t need to be punished by the system that’s supposed to help him. He seemed terrified to even speak up against it knowing he could be punished as a result. This also plays into the fact that the comics seem to make Jonathan Crane and Scarecrow two different people. Jonathan Crane is a rather humble man who loves his job and, yes, can get scared. Scarecrow is like this demon in the back of his head almost that keeps beckoning him to ruin his life for the one thing that interests him more than anything. This is espically edvident in the BTAS comics when they make scarecrows villian mask an entity of its own, screaming it’s name.

So, I’d imagine that what goes on IN those comics are a byproduct of his insanity and fear gas. He seems to be constantly hallucinating snakes and spiders, and even seems to be seeing those trying to help him get a job again as ‘demons’. He is constantly fighting for that control over his life, to do what he loves and hurt others or do what’s safe but not what he enjoys. He wants his old life back but will never get it.

While I recognize I’m too damn old for tumblr...

I accept the risk that I am shouting this out into the void. Having said so...Here are some thoughts I have had on bullying in the present and the past.

There is something people who refuse to engage in or use our time bullying that bullies--and abusive personalities--of nearly every stripe will simply never have. I wish with all my faded ginger hair-covered Druid brains that this thing was enough to protect the targets of abusers and bullies. I can’t pretend, even for an instant that it’s enough on its own; that would be dangerous and irresponsible. What I hope is that by sharing something even so simple that it’s probably a gold medalist in the “staggeringly obvious” category, if you’ve missed it or forgotten it, that you may get some recharge or some reinforcement or affirmation out of it. Thank you for bearing with me, whoever you are.

In Roald Dahl’s Matilda there’s a scene where Mr. Wormwood rips the book out of his daughter hands in rage that she is enjoying something that he cannot see the point of, that he cannot share or experience for himself, without (I think) reflecting on why this may be so. He rips every page from her library copy of The Red Pony, this self-righteous rage at what he sees as exclusion (spoiler: it’s not exclusion Mr. awful fictional father of the year) just accelerating at every tear and crumple.

What he can’t see is that he has not been excluded, unfairly or otherwise; he has exiled himself. An enormous percentage of bullies and abusers (I think) have at some point in their life exiled themselves without necessarily realizing that it was the kind of exile most likely to become forever. They do this for uncountable reasons, for all the motivations the kinder (than me, I am neither nice nor forgiving) guidance counselors and teachers and checked-out but well meaning parents assign; instability or violence they themselves are suffering from, insecurity, fear, unmanaged rage, undiagnosed mental health needs, the desperate need to fill a void by fitting in with some people even those people are predatory f&ckwafflers...Or even more benign reasons. More understandable and relatable reasons. All of their friends have declared themselves too old for She-Ra and just want to watch Grease. Jim Henson dies and suddenly nobody thinks Muppets are cool. Art projects are never going to be as good as That One Girl who Can Draw...

(Sometimes I think it’s happened because historically, things have been really, deeply bad and people have been pulled away from “childish stuff” to grow up faster, provide for their family in need sooner. Given how things went down in the Depression for my grandfather and basic empathy I am not here to cr&p on anybody in that position.)

What I’m getting at is that for a wide variety of possible reasons, good bad and ugly...people give up their appreciation of wonder. Sometimes it’s bit by bit so someone doesn’t even notice, sometimes it’s accelerated. Once gone though, it’s not impossible to get back but it is difficult, and our general society in the US doesn’t make that easier.

Now the historian in me is making faces and grunting and preparing to sit up and hurl things--probably unintelligible personal papers from the 18th century or Civil War privy contents or toenail clippings of the Venerable Bede so let me just clarify; this is a theory based on the experiences and interpretations of literary and non fiction works by one person. One. I’m an undergrad lit major, I have a grad degree in history and some training in Mainline Liberal Ministry. I am spectacularly good at being wrong; I could be wrong here.

A sense of wonder and joy does not have to come from the Big Experiences in your life--that trip you were lucky to take to the Grand Canyon, the fan vaulting in Westminster Abbey, the Pacific or Atlantic Ocean, or a whale watch. I mean it can...of course it can but it can be very small as well...Skyscapes at 2pm from on foot wherever you live or for a hot minute in the car or through a window. The cat doing something ridonculous... A color in an ad on a Bus, a sparrow. TREES.--okay now I’m getting into what could be mistaken as Inspirational BS here so moving on...it can be a book, a story that grips each side of your head, pulls you down to the page and will not let you go until it’s over and you’re transported, transformed, legally High off Your Arse...wishing there was more. Sometimes it doesn’t matter worth a damn how you encounter that story--book, TV, movie, song...

It is my theory based on empirical observations and data from a very limited sample pool, I genuinely suspect, I even believe it is possible that bullies and abusers have exiled themselves so profoundly from Wordsworth’s (I can’t stand the guy but he got this idea right) “Inner Eye” and from the capacity to take in the larger world that they have lost the ability to do so in any way. There’s no inspiration or laughter or strength or hope or determination to draw from anything but domination of every nasty kind possible over anyone they can get into a position to dominate. (However unfounded my concern may be to clarify I do not mean a healthy responsible Dom/Sub dynamic here). In actuality, dominate may be the word they use to themselves, consciously but it’s really more about needing to tyrannize (not in the Greek city state definition) and then destroy any and all opposition. That imperative grows until a child reading a book becomes how dare they!?! because the bully/abuser recognizes that here is at least some portion of another human being’s experience that they can no more control than they can shape the weather. That chink in the armor, that gap in the advancing charge, that inaccessible bit is an unholy and raging terror to a lot of bullies and abusers.

if you’ve been bullied it may well have been more than I was. It may still be going on. You may be in the slow and horrendously dangerous process of extracting yourself and everyone you love from the reach of one or more of the worst kind of bullies: abusers. I wish I could help you more than by simply saying all this. I’m more sorry than you will likely ever know that it’s not enough. But it’s out there. (PS, I have ADHD. There will be typos.)

I feel the conflict within you...

I really don’t know how to feel about the Kenobi show.

*Spoilers*

At its best it was great - the Prequels callbacks and integration of Star Wars Rebels were my favourites and it was a joy to see Ewan and Hayden back and enjoying their roles esp after all the negativity they got at the time (sadly I wasn’t a massive fan of everything in the Prequels myself, but I’m loving seeing them back.)

But frankly I felt it made little sense, had little point and tampered too greatly with the set-up for the OT. And don’t get me started on the amount of times characters had to hold the Idiot Ball or the terrible dialogue! I feel really ungrateful saying this as we are lucky to get what we did but I just feel so confused by the way it was put together. The number of times Vader just let Obi Wan go literally to serve the plot, the fact they couldn’t find a dude dressed exactly like a Jedi (cloak and everything) and he was able to hide Leia *under his cloak* in a top security military base it just seemed ludicrous. Empire’s hunting him/it’s letting him go/nope it’s def hunting him/no it’s letting him escape...Vader’s obsessed with him/no he’s letting a minion confront him/no he’s killing him!/nah he’s just gonna stare at him as he gets saved. And BOTH of them do the Bond Villain fail of walking away when they MUST KNOW the other is alive due to the Force?!

Also what was Kingo from the Eternals doing there? Totally took me out, he was awful. It felt like the MCU ffs! He was playing the character exactly the same.

And the dialogue - ugh. “YOu SHouLd HaVE KILLed ME ....WheN yoU HAd tHE cHanCE!”

“Goodbye...Darth...” His Sith name is Vader, you muppet! Darth is a title, you know that, you fought the bloody Sith. Oh someone Force Lightning me already!

Luke and Leia...hmm I just feel this was cute but it wasn’t good enough to mess with the OT the way it did and frankly it took some of the mystique off of Leia. There’s this thing with prequels and worldbuilding (I know I’m a writer) where you feel drawn to develop threads and fill in character by creating foundations for things in your initial narrative, but there’s also a thing with over-milked series when they want to explain every damn thing and tie it neatly in bow (same issue with Solo) and I feel this is the latter.

It also didn’t fill in two major plotholes it really could have done -Vader telling Luke Obi Wan once thought as he did aka that Obi Wan thought Vader could be turned back to the Light and Leia’s memory of Padme.

Given what we got and what we could have gotten, would you have preferred this or Obi Wan learning Anakin is alive and trying to redeem him, maybe against Qui Gon’s wishes (call back to Luke and Yoda in Empire and yes I would have brought Qui Gon back alot sooner) and have Anakin reject him, maybe with Palpatine laughing in the background. We could have Leia seeing Padme in Obi Wan’s mind (or recalling Force visions of Padme while she was in the womb - I really wanted to see Padme back for a moment!) This could have been a real test of Vader as well as of Obi Wan as the series hinted at the end with Palpatine. I feel it was a real missed opportunity and in some ways the most elaborate cosplay exercise. I don’t feel it really had much to say overall aside a Sequels-esque ‘realistic’ view of Kenobi’s PTSD. Okay fine but it could have been done better and more in line with the Star wards feel.

And that’s it...yet again this series doesn’t feel like Star Wars. The music or lack of it made a big difference but really it’s the same reoccurring problem - the execs don’t understand the mythic base and how to grow something new out of it. Episodes of Clone Wars and The Mandalorian have come closest to this but they are still lacking the heart of what made the OT so magical. They really need to go back to the Jungian psychology underpinning the story - that the core, not the ‘used galaxy’ look, western/samurai feel or meme call backs.

Anyway I liked aspects of it, I’m grateful we have it but I do feel it was another missed opportunity with some bizarre choices. What do you think?

hi i just finished and I decided to write down my thoughts while watching part one :) It's very sporadic and over the place but here it is

I liked how we could see a bit of the stuff they were exposed to, from a bit of the lesson to the school itself as they ran through it

Its so big, you can only imagine the resources they have in there

Immediately when i saw the clones my heart dropped

The jedi master was so badass with it though i wish we could have seen more of her

The way the director panned the camera made me feel like I was there, running with the kiddos

I felt so bad though

Like the kids were obviously distressed that their master died

But not as much as they should have been

You know that they knew that they would see their familiars die

Maybe even before their eyes

And they had to suck it up, and get to safety and run

Like wow, these kids are something else

ALSO ORDER 66????????? Hearing that made my heart drop even further

I liked how the next scene showed a bit of how there are jedi hiding in sort of plain sight and there were people still looking for them

The trio at the cantina were very badass though

Overall i enjoyed the episode. I think it set things up in a great way and i like how it world builds around jedi life after order 66. I also like this because it gives an insight on kenobi’s relationship with Leia, as well as his connections to her family.

HIIIIIIII!!!! I hope you're doing well despite work being overwhelming! <3 What silly books are you reading? (I'm always looking for new books to read!)

It can be! I used to only work 4 days a week so it's been taking adjusting to being at work everyday except the weekend, but I'll get there soon! Same! I know for me, I try to use colors that I associate with the album the song is from but sometimes I like to choose the color based off what color I think the song would be! So for the eras tour movie, I made a cold as you bracelet and I chose blue for the beads bc it just felt fitting!

You're gonna have such a blast at your show, I already know! I still go back and watch the videos I took from my show and I love that you get to have those memories too!

It was AMAZING!!! My theater was sold out (it was on the 13th!) and the vibes were amazing!!! Everyone had an understanding that there was going to be singing, the chants, and I danced in my seat for the most part, but at the end, we all stood up to dance to Karma! The surprise song section was so much fun as well, and one of my favorite parts was the credits! I'll go ahead and say it but I did sob during marjorie and tolerate it (I recently got out of a long term relationship) but other than that it was a blast!!!

It does! I'm a big food person, after all, I grew up in the Southern United States and food is a big part of our culture. So food is always one of my top things about places or better yet the outdoor options they have for adventures!

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Taylor has always been a songwriter first and has been passionate about the music she puts into the world. It's also just so amazing to me to see how fast she can create such amazing lyrics (like how she wrote the Last Time in roughly 10 minutes) and they become some of her best work. She's just amazing in general but that's me!

Oh I agree! It can be but we've had it happen all our lives. We once had someone ask if my older brother and our mom were married. Which is insulting to my older brother because damn he doesn't look that old (our mom is in her late 40's now), but also I guess it's a compliment to our mom? Idk, I never like to assume about people's relationship status, speculation can be a negative thing!

They both have such amazing personalities and I'm very grateful to have both of them! I can't imagine existing without them lol

February 14th

You continued to breath out steadily as you tried to keep your pace, Steve and Bucky half way around to meeting you already, and Sam in pace next to you as you ran around the large monument again. “Damn super-soldier bullshit” Sam muttered breathlessly as you laughed at his joke, trying not to lose step.

Listening carefully and peaking behind you, you smiled “You’re right, it is bullshit. Maybe we should stop.” you said with an air of amusement as you glanced at Sam.

Who smiled “You know what, you’re right. Let’s stop.”

As both of you stopped quickly in place, you turned to face behind you, just in time to see Steve and Bucky’s eyes widen as they stumbled to a stop before slamming into the two of you, which they managed to do, barely.

“Yeah, that’s right. That’s what you get for trying to humiliate us again.” Sam said with a laugh. Steve and Bucky sharing a look of mixed disdain and amusement as you chuckled.

“I think we were done anyway” Steve said as he turned to walk towards where you set your water bottles.

As you all sat underneath a large tree you checked your watch, the morning had been going by so slow. You wanted the evening to come quickly, but just as much, you wish it wouldn’t come at all.

“You alright?”

You looked up to see the three staring at you, you must have zoned out “Yeah, I’m fine.” you smiled at them, trying to play it off. When you turned to grab a granola bar out of your bag the three of them shared a mutual look of understanding.

You were definitely not fine. The anxiety and curiosity that had built up over the last week was killing you. You were glad it was almost over, yet terrified at what that would bring in itself. The more you thought about each of the other’s and the possibility that it might be them who has been leaving you the flowers and notes, the more you didn’t want it to be any of them. Well, that was a lie. There was only one, you really wanted it to be. And unfortunately, they seemed to be the least likely.

Your thoughts proceeded to run wild as you continued on throughout your day, only occasionally being able to distract yourself with work. And the anxiety had built up once again as you got dressed about an hour before the party. You paced restlessly around your room as you fiddled with your hands.

Finally growing tired of circling around the room, you decided to leave, maybe you would head down a bit early, distract yourself with some of the others who would probably already be down there anyway.

This was proven incorrect, as you entered into the bar area, seeing only Natasha behind the bar as she made herself a drink. You hesitated as you looked around, was there really no on else down here yet?

“Hey” Natasha greeted, earning your attention again as your heart pounded in your chest.

“Hey” you replied walking into the room “I thought the others would be down here already.” you commented as you sat on a bar-stool.

“Me too actually, but, at least I’m not alone now” she said while smiling at you “Drink?”

"Sure.” you said as she immediately started getting you your favorite drink.

“You alright? You’ve seen a bit off all day.” she commented as she slid you your drink and leaned on the counter watching you.

Taking a sip you eyed her, wondering how much you should tell her. You had already figured it wasn’t her. Even though she was the one you wanted it to be. So, you figured it wouldn’t hurt anymore than it already does if you told her.

“I...I’m, supposed to find out who’s been leaving the notes and flowers today. Which I’m sure you already figured by now.” She gestured her head as you continued “But I...I’m just not sure, what to do.”

“What do you mean?”

“The notes, and everything they’re so....genuine and beautiful, and I just don’t know if I deserve someone like that. I mean, what if I can’t see myself loving them? What if I don’t deserve that kind of devotion?”

Natasha looked down at her hands before taking a breath “You do deserve it Y/n.”

You let out an amused scoff “You’re just saying that because your my friend” you said with a bit of doubt and disappointment in your voice.

“No, that’s not why I’m saying it.”

“Then why?”

“Because...” she reached out and placed her hand on top of yours “Because of your grace, and elegance, your compassion, kindness and bravery. There is no way they could not absolutely adore every fiber of your being.”

You stared at her as you recognized the words, the words that had been typed out on third note that you had received. Words that you repeated to no one. Your heart began beating rapidly again as you remained speechless as a small smile formed on her face. “How- I never read you any of the notes.”

“No, you didn’t.” she straightened up before reaching for something underneath the counter “The whole, notes and flowers thing were a bit cheesy, especially for me, but...” she pulled out red rose from below the counter “I couldn’t help myself. I’ve always wanted to try some big grand gesture of admission.”

Staring at the rose as she leaned back on the counter taking your hand in hers as she placed the rose between your fingers and looked back at you “All these years being as close as we are...I guess it was inevitable.”

Finally getting a hold of yourself again you cracked a smile “Yeah, it really was wasn’t it. And...you knew didn’t you? That I felt the same?”

She gestured her head and smiled “At first I thought I was just imagining it, but...Clint knocked some sense into me and made me realize that I wasn’t, and that you did, actually feel the same way.”

You closed your hand around hers, as you continued to smile at her “It was pretty damn bold of you to deliver those flowers to me in the gym yourself.”

“Yeah, well. I wanted to see your reaction myself.”

“Who else knew? I mean besides Clint?”

“No one else.”

“Then...who delivered the camellias?”

She laughed “Well, I did.” you gave her a look of confusion as she continued “I thought I was being quiet enough, but I should have known better, so when I heard you coming to the door I put my assassin skills to the test.” she said with a sense of amusement.

“But...I looked everywhere?” she shook her head and you thought to yourself for a moment “I looked everywhere...except up. Please tell me you were not clinging to the roof above me?”

“Luckily the halls aren’t too wide.”

“Wh- Nat, oh my God” you started giggling at the thought as you facepalmed “I can’t believe you actually did that.”

She laughed as well “The things we do for love.”

You stared at her, still smiling in amusement “You were wrong Nat, I don’t deserve you.”

She leaned further over the bar as she stared into your eyes “After everything I’ve done, trying to make things right with SHIELD and the Avengers. You have been the only constant happiness in my life. I think I’m the one who doesn’t deserve you. ”

“Agree to disagree” you countered as you grinned at each other, as both of your eyes began flicking to the others lips before you both leaned forward meeting in a kiss you had both been dreaming of.

As you pulled away, you heard voices approaching from the hall, recognizing it as the others. She glanced to the door and then back at you as you asked “Do you think they’d be surprised?”

“Probably not. But who cares either way.” she smiled, making you grin.

The others were in fact surprised, but happily so. Especially Clint, who, for the rest of the night, told the others about how painstakingly he had been trying to get you two to confess your feelings for one another for years now. While Tony insisted that he had known the whole time and had been debating setting you two up secretly.

I struggled with how to end this, as I did with the others too, but this one especially.
