“Wednesday, can you decipher this?” Enid gets up from her bed to show her roommate the text she just got from you, which seemed to be just a bunch of random letters
“What makes you think I’m going to understand better than you.” Wednesday raises an eyebrow at Enid from where she’s sitting at her desk
“I dunno, she’s your girlfriend? Girlfriend telepathy or something”
“I recall her telling me she was, to put it bluntly, getting high with friends tonight.”
“And you didn’t think to lead with that! Do you know where she is?”
“Knowing her, the forest.”
“And you let her!?” Enid exclaims, a hand racking through her hair
“(Y/n)’s the scariest thing in there. Worst comes to worst she comes out with a few scratches.” The blonde is about to respond when her phone pings with another few messages from you

“Alright put on your big girl pants, we’re getting your girlfriend” Enid’s phone rings with an incoming facetime from you, and she scrambles to click join. What she doesn’t expect is the face of one of your friends, looking a little more than worried
“Oh, thank god! I’m sorry for bad first impressions, but-“ A whine is heard in the background your friend turns to the noise
“Chill out dude, your girlfriend is right here!” He turns back to Enid
“Please put Wednesday on, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bear cry before” Wednesday perks up at her name and swiftly takes the phone from Enid. Your friend turns around the phone so now the two roommates are looking at a grizzly bear that stands on its hind legs, whining and maybe even sobbing
“(Y/n).” Wednesday says, and you snap your head towards the phone held in front of you
Now aware of your girlfriends face in front of you, you get back down onto all fours and boop the screen with your nose
“Wednesday, I missed you! Y’know I was just out here, getting high with my friends as one does, and then all of a sudden I was really sad! Then I started thinking really hard why that might be and I realized it was because you weren’t here! You know how I ugly cry, right? Well I started doing that but for some reason my friends didn’t really understand what I was saying, but I know you’d understand! So that’s why we’re here. Also, I think I might’ve had a growth spurt. I feel really tall and big right now”
Just by the shaking of your phone on the other end of the call, Enid knows her feelings of confusion and maybe fear are shared when you start to grumble and whine. Only you would be able to ramble as a fucking grizzly bear
“C-Connection’s bad, please say something!” Your friend squeaks behind the phone, and Wednesday resists the urge to roll her eyes. It was you, after all. No reason to be scared
“Enid, make sure she doesn’t freak out. I’ll go pick her up.” Wednesday sighs, grabbing her jacket and giving Enid her phone back. She hears you whine even more when you can’t see Wednesday in frame anymore
“(Y/n), can you…” Is the last thing Wednesday hears before leaving the dorm. For an academy that had a curfew, they were astonishingly bad at keeping it upheld. A turn here, climb up that wall, don’t touch that grass near the academy, and boom you’re in the forest before Enid can post something on her blog about Xavier and Bianca’s relationship
You weren’t very difficult to find. The wailing of a bear basically echoed in the forest and claw marks on trees made a clear path to the place you and your friends were getting high at. Well, were getting high at. Wednesday almost wants to watch your friends stay scared behind trees as you claw at the ground below you even more as Enid’s attempts at calming you down seem to be futile
“Wednesday’s almost there, (Y/n)! Maybe just a few more minutes?”
“But I want her now!!” You cry, falling to the ground on your furry stomach with a loud thump
“We’ve already established you’re a bear! We don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about, dude!” Your friends voice cracks
“There are two wolves inside of me…” Your head snaps at the sound of a twig snapping in the forest. You stand up on your hind legs, hoping to intimidate whoever seems to be in the forest with you. You’ve already pissed on every tree so no way another bear would dare challenge you for territory
“Who’s there!”
“Don’t get your fur matted, it’s just me.” Wednesday makes her presence known by a chill in the air, which makes your friend jump but ultimately hide behind her. At first he touches her shoulder but the glare she sends his way makes him rethink his life. Luckily he gets out of the way before you barrel towards Wednesday. This time, as a giant tiger
The Addams is quickly tackled to the floor with your entire body weight on her. Your tongue would probably hurt Wednesday if you licked hard enough so you opt for chuffing wildly while having all the characteristics of a needy house cat. You had to make your peace with not being able to purr as a tiger. Which, you were always mad about. “If big cat, why no purr?” as you’d say
“(Y/n).” Wednesday embraces you. Her hands rack through your fur with calculated fingers that knew where to pet you. Under your stomach, behind the ears, and anywhere on your neck. She also knew where your pressure points were, but there’s no fun in dragging a tiger back to Nevermore
You chuff in response, not planning to stop smothering your girlfriend
“(Y/n).” Wednesday tries again. She fails.
“(Y/n).” This time, the look on your girlfriends face makes you stop your smothering. You blow air into her face with a tilt of your head
“Human, now.” You huff in Wednesday’s face while unwillingly getting off of her. Despite her protest you stay a tiger as you walk over to your friend, who looks confused as ever. Giving him a small nod, you take your phone out of his hand with your mouth and let him pet your head
Next, you scoop up Wednesday on your back while deciding it’s a better time than ever to leave
“S-Same time next week?” Your friend calls behind you. You give him the best smile you can whilst your phone is still in your mouth
You’re halfway out the forest when Wednesday finally decides to talk to you again
“For the record, I’m not doing this again the same time next week.”

ok first and foremost i really truly believe to the pits of my soul that every single one of these fuckos loves romances and you cannot under any circumstances change my mind
ALSO it’s a gender neutral reader except kinda in echo’s theres like a very brief quote regarding breasts but like i still think even that is pretty gender neutral tbh
so anyway
Hunter: Pretty Woman
this is not the first time that i have publicly declared that i think hunter has a deep rooted connection to the movie pretty woman and it will not be the last
first of all this movie is incredibly soothing to hunters overwhelming savior complex
second of all hunter is literally richard gere (debonaire but emotionally distant gentleman that learns to love) and julia roberts (hooker with a heart of gold) at the same time
he was a little skeptical the first time you put it on but he instantly fell in love with it
the humor, the sensuality, the class divide, the glamour, the unconventional cinderella story of it all. it just really butters his bread
after the first time, when you suggest watching a movie and you pick this one he’ll act very aloof about it (“whatever you want cyar’ika, it doesn’t matter to me”) but secretly he’s really really happy bc it’s one of his favorites (you def know this and def pick it more often)
he absolutely hates the scene when stucky the lawyer hits vivian. like it doesn’t matter how many times he watches it he will fully turn his head away from the screen and say “I don’t like this part” and when it’s over he nuzzles a little closer into you and very tenderly kisses your forehead
he loves the soundtrack too. like he fully exposes how much he likes the movie when you catch him singing or humming “pretty woman” or “it must have been love” absently to himself (you kept it to yourself for a while but eventually you just had to tease him about it. he just smiled a little sheepishly and admitted he liked the songs before promptly changing the subject)
hunter also lowkey definitely wants to recreate the ending where richard gere shows up to her apartment in the white limo with you bc he thinks it’s such a sweet gesture and he wants to treat you like royalty
Crosshair: 10 Things I Hate About You
if there’s one thing about crosshair it’s that he’s a sucker for the enemies to lovers genre
maybe its just him projecting (spoiler alert it most certainly is) but he really enjoys watching the drama conflama of a miserable bastard be tricked into love
and really that’s the true essence of 10 Things I Hate About You
he will grumble and bitch and moan about not wanting to watch a ‘chick flick’ when you put it on, but 15 minutes in and he’s hooked
he has strong negative opinions on literally every single character except for kat and patrick
(crosshair really really wants to think he’s patrick but when it comes down to it he is katarina stratford in every single possible way)
he doesn’t say a word throughout the entire movie but you can tell when he’s annoyed at like bianca or cameron or joey bc he will openly scoff at them
will absolutely hum along in your ear during the “can’t take my eyes off you” scene and make out with you during the paintball scene
(seriously he wants to be patrick verona so bad)
when it’s over and you ask him what he thought he’ll roll his eyes and say “i guess it could have been worse” but his little smirk let’s you know he enjoyed it a lot more than he’s willing to admit
Tech: 50 Shades of Grey
ok hear me out on this one
tech is a huge movie talker. like subtitles are a non-negotiable if you wanna be able to take in any of the movies dialogue bc tech is most likely gonna make commentary over it the whole time
this makes him absolutely indescribably so much fun to watch bad/corny movies with
he will go off about EVERYTHING. the plot, the dialogue, the acting, the costuming, the music, the production quality. nothing and no one is safe. whether you just enjoy letting him talk at you or you join in on the roast, cheesy movies are a hoot between you two
and honey. 50 shades is one of THE cheesiest movies ever
you and tech will literally spend the entire duration of the movie tearing it to shreds
and the thing is tech is a very sarcastic, funny guy when he wants to be (and when it comes to you he definitely wants to be) so by the end of it he will have you in absolute stitches from laughing at the ridiculousness of both the movie and him
with any of the other batchers watching a movie like this either turns into a shy, slightly awkward experience (wrecker, echo) or an incorrigibly horny experience (crosshair, hunter)
but in this context tech literally has no shame or squeamishness about sexual things (why should he it’s a natural biological process?) so to yall the sex stuff is just another thing to roast
literally christian grey could be fully tying dakota johnson down and flogging her and tech will be like “in the last 3 minutes they have panned up to her nipples 4 times. this is criminally shoddy cinematography”
even tho he’s busy giving a detailed play by play critique, he never fails to keep some sort of physical contact with you (wrapping an arm around you and running his hand up and down your skin, playing with your fingers or your hair) so you know he’s enjoying spending this time with you despite his nasty words about the movie
also 1000% after you watch it tech will do extensive research on the ins and outs of bdsm and will have lots of hypotheses he wants to test out (as long as you’re willing and able ofc) ;)))
Wrecker: 13 Going On 30
of all the bad batch members, wrecker is the only one who unabashedly loves any movie that could be considered a chick flick
like he doesn’t even try to hide it or act like he’s too masculine for it. he loves romance and he’s proud of it
this man will have full marathons with you. rom coms, regular roms, tragic roms, hallmark roms, you name it and he’s game
his absolute favorite tho is 13 Going On 30
i feel like he has a huge soft spot for childhood best friends to lovers stories like he finds that type of lifelong partnership so endearing (and he loves to live vicariously through jenna since that type of romance was obviously never an option for him)
wrecker is also very childlike at heart and i think the idea of a 13 year old sweetheart trapped inside the body of a 30 year old cut throat magazine exec is so amusing to him (and maybe makes him feel just a little bit represented in the media)
he is definitely the type to completely engulf you in a cuddle for the entirety of the movie and he DEFINITELY cries into your shoulder at matty’s wedding when jenna is crying on the stoop with her dream house
he wants to try razzles so bad. like so bad. i think if he ever came across them somewhere he would barter at least one of his brothers for them
wrecker really just loves love and watching movies about it just reminds him of how lucky he is to have his own love story with you <3
Echo: The Princess Bride
i feel like it’s glaringly obvious why echo loves this movie
pirates. sword fighting. decades long revenge plots. the value of an honorable, loyal man. true love that never wavers even in the face of devastating tragedy and the darkest of hardships. clever but goofy humor.
echo considers this an action/adventure movie and NOT a romance movie (even tho it 100% totally is a romance movie) and requests to watch it very frequently
he can quote the whole thing. i’m seriously telling you echo loves the princess bride with his whole chest
even tho he refuses to admit it’s a love story above all else, he really does try to model himself in your relationship after wesley
like especially given what happened at the citadel and all the time you thought he was dead, the cinematic parellels are alive and present in y’alls relationship and he strives to be even half the man to you that wesley is to buttercup
literally in your day to day life he will sometimes respond to your requests with a smooth “as you wish ;)” (it doesn’t matter how many times he does it it still gives you butterflies)
when you watch the movie, he snuggles as close to you as possible and does his best to make youre comfy the whole time (he’s insecure about his prosthetics hurting you no matter how much you reassure him they don’t)
he just loves to be able to feel your heartbeat and your laugh when you giggle at the funny bits
every single time without fail at the part when buttercup is about to stab herself he leans down, ghosts his lips against the shell of your ear, and whispers the line in time with wesley: “there’s a shortage of perfect breasts in this world. it would be a pity to damage yours”
every single time without fail you wind up making out until he pulls away and tells you to watch the next part when wesley challenges humperdinck to a duel to the pain
echo just loves you to bits and wants you to know he’d endure a thousand fire swamps for you
Omega: Clueless
i have this really specific obsession with omega being a total girly girl and having very traditionally feminine interests as she keeps experiencing the universe and being exposed to a spectrum of gender expression beyond clone (masc and boring) and kaminoan (ugly)
so with that headcanon of her in mind, it’s vital to me that she sees clueless as soon as possible
clueless is an essential piece of media for a girl entering adolescence and i will die on this hill
it has literally everything you want and everything you need to develop into a well-rounded young woman
it’s so deliciously 90s and glamorama and valley girl humor and camp. its got meaningful female friendships and valuable life lessons and paul mf rudd
if there’s one thing you should encourage a burgeoning hetero teen girl to do, it’s to stick to dating guys like paul rudd in clueless. the earlier this message can be broadcast the better
the second you’re able to steal omega away from hunters watchful eyes (“hunter we’re just gonna watch finding nemo i swear!”) you show her this movie
at this point omega is not really a girly girl, but omega also has absolutely zero feminine influence in her life
the first time she sees clueless she is absolutely obsessed. like seriously she is so enamoured with the glitz and glam of cher horowitz
she asks you questions the entire time. she wants to know about EVERYTHING. the makeup, the clothes, the hair, the slang
(she definitely goes around saying stuff like “i’m totally bugging” for long enough afterwards that almost all of the boys have slipped up at least once with some ridiculous valley girl slang. you thought you were gonna die of laughter when you overheard tech say “as if!” to wrecker in the middle of an argument)
it just really introduces her to this whole world of femininity that she didn’t even know existed and she absolutely loves it
she makes you watch clueless with her seriously once a week at minimum. she begs you to style her hair like tai’s and you can’t help yourself when you happen to run across a little yellow plaid dress and buy it for her on sight
(hunter was gonna scold you for recklessly spending credits until he saw how omega almost cried from how happy she was for the gift)
honestly she enjoys the romance of it all and paul rudd is def her first celebrity crush but she enjoys more that you and her now have this special thing of hair and nails and pretty dresses
she loves how confident and beautiful and special you’re able to make her feel, and you love that you get to bring her that small sense of normalcy and happiness

heroes of olympus ranked by the saddest/worst childhoods:
(my opinion. you don’t have to agree, that’s okay).
1. HAZEL - i think this is self explanatory. black girl in southern america in the 30s, bullied badly. then watched her mother get possessed by the earth mother, father didn’t care, forced to move on her thirteenth birthday to alaska. was repeatedly told she was a bad, sick child. then was forced to do unspeakable things by marie/gaea, used her powers to make a body for a giant, then had no other choice but to kill herself and her mother to stop gaea from rising. THEN gave up elysium so her mother wouldn’t get the field of punishment. in the Son of Neptune, during one of her backstories, Hazel says, “Hazel felt as if she were expanding to the breaking point, just like that spire in the pit. Her misery would soon become to great to hold inside, and her skin would shatter.” excuse me while i go and sob 😭
2. Reyna - girl her backstory is so fucking sad. watched her dad become insane and paranoid. her dad collected weapons and turned their house into a fortress, and locked her in her room, and when she and her sister would sneak out and get caught, he would throw furniture and yell at them. then he becomes convinced that reyna and hylla are the enemy. ghosts of her ancestors would watch reyna from afar (creepy af). then julian becomes a mania and after they snuck out one day, reyna was TEN, julian got so angry he started glowing, ripping up their house and threw a chair at hylla. reyna then thought her sister was dead as it knocked her unconscious, then had no choice but to kill her own father. a ghost appeared before her and taunted her, telling her she would never flee her crime and never forget her past, calling her a murderer and traitor. then she went to circe’s island and that got destroyed by yours truly percy jackson and annabeth chase, then she was kidnapped by the pirates (who did gods knows what to her) for months and then managed to escape. then she and her sister parted ways after all those years together where they had no one but each other. okay, maybe reyna should be number one.
3. Nico - lots of people would think he needs to be 1, but i don’t think so, and i’m talking about backstories only. he saw his mother walk into a hotel and then watched it explode after it got struck by lightning. then he got his memory wiped and then they were left with a bank trust and a lawyer would come in to check them every once in a while. oh, and then he got stuck in the lotus hotel for seventy years, which they only thought was a month. then westover hall. then bianca dies. yeah.
4. Jason - ugh this boy. his mother left him at the wolf house and told him that she’d be back, but never was. so jason, a little two year old boy, was left crying in the ruins and yelling for his mom and thalia. he was then taken in by wolves (can you imagine how scary that must’ve been for a little boy?) and was raised and trained like a roman soldier. there was no weakness. he wasn’t allowed to, or else he would be eaten alive. yeah. then he made it to camp jupiter and was offered first cohort for being a son of jupiter but denied it. he befriended the least popular kids and went on the least glamorous quests, but was still considered a prince and had everyone’s eyes on him from such a young age. he spent twelve years in the legion and was always the leader. then he led the assault on mount othrys and defeated the titan krios with hand to hand combat, and toppled kronos’s throne. this isn’t tragic, but what is tragic is that he and the legion never got a thanks from the gods.
5. Leo - his fucking nanny tia callida laid him in an actual fire pit and sang him lullabies like some sort of psychopath. and tia callida gave him knives when he was three. she told him to poke a rattlesnake in the grass with a stick (oh that’s super smart for a four year old boy to do). his cousin raphael bullied him. his aunt rosa made him eat with dead people. then, when trying to hurt gaea, she made him angry and made his hands catch on fire. leo fell into a rage and tried to save himself and his mother, but accidentally killed his mother and burned her alive. and then his aunt rosa turned his entire family against him (called him the devil) and told the social care workers to take him away and stuffed him into foster care. he was bullied badly and would run away from his foster care homes and, when he was in between foster homes, would sleep under an actual bridge.
6. Annabeth - since she was a demigod, annabeth was a target for monsters which caused constant fighting between her dad and her stepmother who felt like she was putting everyone (as in her two twin stepsiblings) in danger. she was assaulted by spiders, her worst fear, for three days each night as a seven year old girl. she would scream for her father but he was never there and her stepmother didn’t believe her. as a seven year old girl, she believed her family hates her, so she ran away and smashed monsters with a hammer with the guidance of her immortal mother for MONTHS. then she was taken in by luke and thalia and they became her family. then they found grover and were chased by monsters sent from hades, who was looking to kill thalia for revenge. grover took wrong turns and led them into a cyclops lair on accident. then the cyclops lured everyone except annabeth, who stabbed one of the cyclops in the foot. the group was chased by a pack of hellhounds and all three furies on their way to half-blood hill. she was forced to watch thalia be overran by monsters and killed and dragged away by luke. she heard the great prophecy when she was ten and had nightmares about it because chiron told her she “would have a big part to play”, and that brings us to tlt. damn.
7. Percy - strangled a snake at a day care center when he was two (this is pretty traumatic). was bullied and abused by his stepfather from a very young age and had to watch his mother be in an awful relationship. was bullied badly by other people. he was in military academies where they believed “paddling is good for the soul.” he was stalked by a cyclops in the third grade.
8. Frank - his mother died in a military accident and was then raised by his grandmother. he was then told, at his mother’s funeral, that his whole entire life depends on this little piece of fire wood that if burned, he would literally fall over dead. then, that same evening, he was told he was going to be shipped off to wolves and then to camp jupiter (if he survived its trials ofc).
9. Piper - she fell off a horse when she was six and drove past a meat processing place that made her sick 😭 (this is a joke). but for real, her rich super star dad avoided her and didn’t pay any attention to her, which caused her to act out. she was bullied for being cherokee. and then she finds out months of her life was just a trick of the mist and that her boyfriend doesn’t actually like her at all? sad man.

Divorce? Is that a kind of Cheese?
Summary: Sea monsters mate for life. They're not like people, they don't separate or get divorces. Mates are permanent. Except when they're not.
Or: Giulia and Alberto are both children of divorce. Luca is confused.
A/N: Here it is! The long-awaited Luca fic! I hope you all like it! Special thanks to @psadler1 for beta reading this! And now without further ado.
Luca bounced in his seat as the train carried him home from Genoa. He couldn’t wait to see his family and tell them all about what he’d learned while he was away. He couldn’t wait to see Alberto again. He smiled at the thought of seeing his friend.
Giulia smiled from where she sat next to him, “You’re really excited to get home, huh?”, He nodded shyly, “So am I. I love my mom but I miss my dad while I’m away.” Luca sat back down from where he’d been staring out the window. A question formed in the back of his mind, one that he’d wondered since he’d left Portorosso and met Angelina. He’d never dared to voice it until now, “Why don’t you’re parents live together?”
She looked away and, for a split second, Luca thought he saw her tearing up. He wanted to take back the question but, before he could, Giulia blinked away her tears and schooled her expression, “They used to. When I was really little we all lived in Portorosso together. But they fought a lot. And eventually, they sat me down and told me they were getting a divorce and I’d go to Genoa with Mama for school.”
Divorce? Luca wondered what that could be. It sounded like some kind of fancy cheese. Like the ones, Angelina would buy to make sandwiches with. Judging by her tone, however, Luca didn’t think it was like brie or mozzarella. He decided to test his luck once more, “What’s a divorce?” “It’s when two people who are married decide they don’t want to be married anymore. You probably have a different word for it.”
Again Luca was puzzled, “You can stop being married?”, he asked. From everything he’d heard up to this point, marriage seemed pretty permanent.
“Yeah. Don’t you have anything like that?” He shook his head, “No. Sea monsters mate for life.”, He’d known this since birth. Upon turning 16 they would declare mates and spend the next two years courting before sealing their relationship. And that was that. They spent their lives together. Your lifemate was your everything.
“What if they stop loving each other??”, He rubbed the back of his neck at the question, trying to think of an answer. In truth, Luca didn’t know what would happen then. The thought of not loving your lifemate enough to leave them was unthinkable. You just didn’t do that. It was permanent.
Then again, from what he’d been told, marriage was supposed to be permanent too. That didn’t stop Giulia’s parents from divorcing, “I don’t know. But I can ask my parents and tell you what they say?”
Giulia sighed, “It’s ok. You don’t have to.”, Luca nodded, but was secretly determined to find out.
The question didn’t come up right away, he was busy catching his parents and Alberto up on how his school year went. The reunion had been full of hugs, kisses, and tears. His mother and Massimo had worked together to make a feast of both human and seafood for the pair, with Alberto even chipping in to make some desserts. It was a fantastic night of dancing, singing, and eating. And at the end of it all, Daniela and Lorenzo agreed to let him spend the night with Alberto.
The taller sea monster had been all too eager to show him the changes made to his island. He wasn’t fully ready to stay with Massimo all of the time, so Massimo agreed to let him go back and forth between the two places. Of course, that didn’t mean that he wasn’t going to make sure that Alberto was safe and protected. So the pair had spent the fall working to make it more secure from the elements. Luca was impressed upon seeing the changes that had occurred while he was away. They’d spent the night catching up and playing games together. Luca had had a blast. So much so that the question of divorce was forgotten completely.
He didn’t think about divorce again until two weeks later. He was eating dinner with his family, listening to his mother catch him up on everything that had changed while he was away. It was just them tonight; most nights they ate with Giulia, Massimo, and Alberto, but they had a family dinner at least once a week.
Daniella was prepping dinner, sharing all the family news he missed while away at school, “And did I tell you that your cousin Camilla picked Donnie Branzino to be her lifemate? I love her I do, but Donnie Branzino? Out of everyone she could have picked, she picks Bianca Branzino’s boy? Now we have to deal with them at every family gathering from here on out.” Luca stilled in his seat at the mention of lifemates, the conversation he’d had with Giulia returning full force, “Mama?”, he asked, trying to be discreet.
Daniella turned and sat his plate in front of him, “No you cannot go have dinner with your friends. I worked all day making your favorites.”
Luca shook his head, “It’s not that. I have a question about lifemates.” She raised an eyebrow at him, “Lifemates? You have two years before you have to worry about lifemates. What do you want to know?”
He swallowed, gathering all of his confidence before speaking, “What happens if they don’t want to be lifemates anymore?”
“What do you mean?” He shrugged and tried to act casual, “Like if they stopped loving each other. Could they stop being lifemates?” “Sweetheart.”, she placed a hand on his shoulder, “You know we mate for life. Sea monsters don’t fall out of love or stop being mates. Did you hear something?”, Luca sighed and lowered his gaze to the food in front of him.
“Giulia told me about this human thing called divorced. It’s when two human mates stop loving each other and then stop being mates.” Daniella sighed, “That’s awful. But I can’t think of anything happening like around here. Have you Lorenzo?”, for once the other sea monster was paying attention and shook his head.
“Not that I’m aware of.”, Luca nodded in response. He supposed it really was as simple as he first thought. That was until his grandmother spoke up.
“I remember a pair of lifemates who split up.”, Luca looked over at her, hoping she’d elaborate.
“Go on?”, he encouraged with a smile.
“You were only a baby when it happened. Only 3 or 4. There was a couple who lived on the outskirts of town. They had a son around your age. My friend used to babysit for the wife, I can’t remember her name. Lucia? No, Liliana? It doesn’t matter. They argued all the time. Eventually, they split and went to two different pods. He took their son. And then they were both gone.” Luca swallowed at her story. “Oh.”, were the only words he could find himself able to say. The rest of the meal was silent.
“And sometimes human mates just leave each other?”, Alberto asked. They were gathering stones along the beach while they waited for Giulia to finish her deliveries. Luca had told him what she’d said in the meantime.
“Yeah. And I asked my family what happens if lifemates fall out of love and my grandma told me about this couple she used to know that just left. They went to two different pods like they were never together. I always thought lifemates were forever. It’s crazy, right?”
He over at Alberto, expecting him to agree. Instead, he was staring at the ground, a dark look on his face, “Berto?”
“My parents split.”, It came out as a whisper, almost too quiet to hear. Luca’s jaw dropped. He knew that Alberto’s dad had left him, the thought of a parent leaving him filled Luca with white-hot anger. But he’d never said anything about his mother. Luca had assumed that she’d died.
“Oh?”, Alberto sat down and Luca sat beside him, “What happened?” “They fought all the time. And then one night I heard my mama say she couldn’t deal with my papa anymore. And then she left. Only she didn’t take me with her. She...She forgot me. I don’t know why but she did. My father said she didn’t want me. That she didn’t want either of us.”, Tears slowly but surely began to drip down his face, Luca was regretting ever bringing it up.
He wrapped an arm around Alberto, pulling the other boy close, “I’m sorry she left you. She shouldn’t have done that.”, Alberto shook his head fiercely at his words.
“It’s my fault. She left because I’m such a bad kid.” “You’re not bad. You’re amazing. And anyone who says otherwise is a liar.”, Luca hugged the other boy tightly.
“My dad always said so.” “And he’s as much of a liar as Bruno then.”, the resolution in Luca’s voice was as clear as the sky on a sunny day, “You are amazing. And my best friend.” Alberto snorted, “Thanks.”, he whipped his eyes and sat up, “Sorry about crying on you.” “It’s fine.”, Luca rubbed his shoulders, “I’m sorry your parents put you through that.”, They sat like that for some time before Alberto spoke up.
“I wish I didn’t have to pick a lifemate.” Luca looked at him, “Why?”
“Because what if I end up like my parents? I have to trust that they understand me like you do.” Luca looked at Alberto in understanding, “I get how you feel. What if my lifemate doesn’t like me going to the surface? Or what if they don’t like me hanging out with you?”
Alberto sat up straighter, “Lifemates are stupid. Who needs them? We have each other.”, Luca nodded in agreement. Surely a lifemate couldn’t be as cool as being with his best friend, “It can be you, me, and Giulia exploring the world. No lifemates needed.”, The pair sat like that for only a moment longer before getting up and swimming back to town. One thing was clear for both of them; all they needed was each other.

You all over me
Just some mother-daughter time between Annabeth and Zoe.
“I think it’s time for us to break up.”
Those words haunted Zoe. For 3 months she had the best girlfriend in the world. Until she decided to break up with her. Her explanation? Their relationship was just a teen romance, that went over after a couple of months. Zoe decided not to disagree or shout at her. There was no point. They had something nice, and it ended. It happens even to the best.
It was a quiet Friday afternoon. Percy and Annabeth were still at work, Charlie had football practice, and she wasn’t sure where Lana and Theo were. She was sitting on her bed, watching Netflix from her laptop. The bedroom door opened. Annabeth stepped inside with a pint of ice cream in hand. “I am sorry that you broke up. I thought ice cream could help.”
Zoe closed her laptop. “Aren’t you supposed to be at work right now?”
“I thought that it would be a nice idea to take the afternoon off.” Annabeth handed her the ice cream.
“I hope you didn’t do it for me.”
“No, of course not.” She definitely took the afternoon off for her daughter. But Zoe was like her, she would never ask for help. Especially over something romantic.
Zoe stared at her. “Thanks for the ice cream.”
“Anything you want.” Zoe smiled softly at her. Annabeth wasn’t sure if she wanted her to stay or go; she decided to leave her alone for a while and then come back and check on her.
She was about to step outside her daughter’s room when Zoe called her. “Is there any chance that you can stay here with me for a while?”
“Of course.” Annabeth sat next to her on the bed.
“I know it was just a stupid relationship, but I feel so bad.” She started crying. “I really liked Arizona.”
Annabeth kissed her on the temple. “You’re going to feel better soon. I know how it feels.”
Zoe wiped her tears. “How do you know?” She sniffled. “You and dad have been dating each other since you were 16. I wish I had a relationship like yours.” She rested her head on her mum’s shoulder.
“Do you want me to tell you a story?”
“Sure, why not.” Zoe laughed between her sobs. Apparently, her family had a story for every situation.
“It’s more like a family secret rather than a story, actually. That’s why I want this to stay between the two of us.”
“Girl talk. I get it. What happens in this room, stays in this room.” Zoe exclaimed thinking how much stuff her walls had heard over the years.
“Your dad and I have been together since we were 16. But when we were in college we decided, to get the whole college experience to break up.” Zoe stared confused at her. “We were still kind of together, but not dating.”
“And then you tell me that you aren’t a unique couple.” She confessed.
“Anyway, in that time we decided to experiment a bit with other people.” Annabeth didn’t know if it was a good parental move to have a conversation like this with her daughter. “I was going out with a girl.”
“So dad has bi wife energy?” Zoe asked a bit confused that her mother had never told her that she was bisexual.
“More like bi husband energy.”
“Dad is bisexual too? And you didn’t even tell me, your fellow bisexual daughter?”
“We thought that it was quite obvious.” She confessed. “Where was I?”
“You were going out with a girl. Who was it?”
“That’s something I am not going to tell you.” She was trying to be a cool mum but telling her daughter that she was in a loving relationship with her godmother aka Dr Piper McLean-Grace, wasn’t one of the things she was going to do in her lifetime. Percy was having the best time of his life when Zoe brought Arizona home for the first time. ‘I guess yours and Zoe’s type isn’t that different’. “Anyway, we were dating for a couple of months, but we both knew that it meant nothing to us. It meant almost nothing. Well, compared to our relationship with your dad it was nothing, but it still hurt a bit when we broke up.”
“But you had dad. I don’t have someone else. All my relationships end this way. You saw what happened last time.” She sighed.
Annabeth put her daughter’s hair away from her face. “Last time, it was just wrong people at the wrong time. Neither of you were to blame. You tried something and it didn’t work out. And you and Arizona. You are 16. Now it’s the time to have this kind of relationship.”
“She said that we can still be friends if I want,” Zoe confessed.
“See. You will heal, you will feel better, and find someone who makes you happy or maybe even happier.” Annabeth comforted her.
“Probably. Or I’ll buy a couple dogs and become the wine aunt to Charlie’s and Bianca’s kids.” Zoe laughed. She soon realised that it could come out the wrong way. “I mean separately Charlie’s kids and Bianca’s kids.”
“Either way, I just want you to be happy with yourself. You’re the best daughter I could have asked, and you deserve the world.”
“Thanks, mum.” Zoe hugged her.
“Do you want to watch a comedy? Or do you want to be on your own?”
“I could watch ‘The Grown Ups’ for the millionth time.”
Mother and daughter went downstairs and put the movie on Netflix. They were eating ice cream straight out of the massive pint Annabeth had brought home. “There are my girls,” Percy said as he walked inside and saw his wife and daughter sitting together on the couch. He kissed both of them on the cheek. “What is the occasion?”
“Nothing. Just some girl time.” Zoe smiled at her mum.

Titan’s Curse But Make It Time Loop: Nico di Angelo Edition
-Okay so I’m at work and not doing much and who wants to actually edit your shit drafts for your actual WIPs so that they’re less bad? No one, that’s who
-So I had an idea: The Titan’s Curse. Also known as the book where people start to die. It sucks to be a demigod in this book--for the first time in the original series, it really does.
-Not everything is fixed, not everyone is saved, and people start to have to make really tough decisions.
-So we fix it. Not by throwing Percy, or Annabeth, or Thalia, or, hell, even Bianca or Grover into the mix.
-Throwing the marginally more grown-up, more trained, and more knowledgeable demigods into the fire, who’d get everyone alive and safe by the third time ‘round? Nah.
-We’re making Nico fix this.
-Because here’s the thing about Nico di Angelo: Sure, he grows up to become a major badass, the Ghost King, so on and so forth. But not yet.
-For now, Nico is baby, a ten-year-old whose experience with any kind of fighting consists of one (1) Capture The Flag game and who’s still half-reliant on Mythomagic to explain what the fuck is happening.
-He’s also got the worst knowledge makeup possible! He knows he’s a son of Hades, which is bad, he knows to stick monsters with the pointy end of swords but nothing else, he knows that Percy Jackson and Thalia Grace are Very Big Deals (But also doesn’t know why beyond parents), and he’s, at best, vaguely aware that there’s some kind of bad prophecy hanging around.
-Also by the end of the book, he’s just been told his last immediate family who isn’t Hades is dead in one of the worst ways possible, and he--pretty irrationally IMO, but Nico’s a kid who has been through a lot recently, so we’re not holding that against him--blames Percy Jackson.
-Literally, you probably can’t pick an angstier or worse choice to run through the time travel trope. I love it.
-We’re making this kid save Bianca’s life via time loop, which happens due to. . .hmm, we’ll say the Fates did it.
-So, Loop 0 = Canon, only at the end of the day on December 21st, after the conversation with Percy, Nico falls asleep only gods know where only to wake up the day he meets Percy Jackson:
Loop 1:
-Nico doesn’t actually change anything meaningful at first.
-Spends most of it shellshocked and not unconvinced the last week (For him, anyway) wasn’t a horrible nightmare; shellshocked and staring at Percy Jackson, anyway.
-(Percy’s wondering what’s up with the silent kid his sister had talked up as a cheerful chatterbox)
-It’s only when Bianca agrees to join the quest for Artemis that he starts kicking up a fuss; demanding to go, screaming that she can’t leave him even more, not again.
-(Bianca hesitates; briefly, enough to remind Nico that she loves him. But she’s not their mother, and she needs this)
-Bianca still dies. Percy comes back pale and guilty. Nico doesn’t yell at him when he returns--he already knows. He accepts the Hades figurine so that he can throw it into the lake.
-He slinks off back into Cabin Eleven and falls asleep, hoping desperately that he gets a third chance.
Loop 2:
-He does.
Loop 3:
-After a very painful death at the hands of Dr. Thorn, Nico, generally being a straightforward person at this stage of life, takes the obvious path this time around: He tries to tell Bianca--who brushes it off as a dream.
-Annabeth still goes over the cliff when Nico takes the initiative of attaching himself and his sister to Percy Jackson and Thalia Grace at the dance. He tries to tell Percy and Thalia when Bianca still joins the Hunt, promising Nico that whatever he saw, she’ll be extra careful.
-(Bianca’s fearful of what Nico's saying, and thinks that if these sworn sisters can’t keep her safe, who can?)
-Artemis gives Nico a speculative look but agrees when he begs her to protect Bianca at all costs.
-He doesn’t get on the quest. Being a reasonable demigod of questionable parentage, he sneaks out of camp.
-He gets caught, because despite being aware of his awesome new powers, he doesn’t know how to use them, and is still a ten-year-old who can barely hold a sword the right way.
-He gives Percy the puppy dog eyes and shows off said awesome new powers. Percy forces him back.
-Nico follows him.
-Repeat until Percy dies saving Nico from the Nemean Lion in Washington, DC.
-Nico can’t find it in himself to be terribly sad--especially when he doesn’t make it much longer.
Loop 4:
-He’s really stuck like this, huh?
-Oh, Di Immortales.
-(Before Percy gets his chest ripped to shreds by a lion and Nico meets skeleton cats, he learned how to hold a sword properly and curse fluently in Greek. Percy probably only meant to teach him one of those things)
-In unrelated news: Having a big crush on a guy who thinks he’s only known you for a couple hours? Terrible.
-Trying to hate the guy who let your sister die when he’s that stupid and nice? Even worse.
-That stupid lion.
Loop 5, 6, 7, 8, 9:
-Nico repeats: That stupid lion.
-Somewhere in Loop 7 he starts to steal supplies out of the camp store when he follows Percy following the quest.
-They forcefeed the lion enough trail mix and frozen ice cream in Loop 9 that they don’t die this time.
-At least until someone called the General shows up and Nico’s dead before he can raise his sword.
Loop 10:
-Nico wakes up in his and Bianca’s room in Westover and starts crying. Bianca tells the headmaster they’re both sick and Nico lets her hold him all day.
-They fall asleep and Nico swears he won’t let her die again.
Loop 11, 12, 13:
-He wakes up and he still can’t get out of bed without feeling that blade cutting between his ribs, burning like it’s on fire.
-Gods, he’s so sorry, Bianca. Dispiace tanto.
Loop 14:
-He can get up without feeling like he’s about to die again. Bianca fusses but assumes it was just a bad dream.
-Nico is caught stealing and can’t follow Percy until it’s too late.
-Everyone assumes this means he’s a son of Hermes, however, and Nico can’t correct them without opening his mouth and letting the sobbing laughter out.
-Figuring he’s about to get another chance next round anyway, he takes Travis and Connor Stoll up on their offer to learn a thing or two so that he doesn’t get Cabin Eleven slapped with kitchen duty from now until Doomsday.
-He likes the Stolls. He spent most of the time, pre-looping, actively avoiding everyone at camp as he waited for Bianca and Percy to come back, but they’re not that bad.
-Percy comes back with the figurine and no sister and Nico remembers why he’s stuck.
Loop 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23:
-After Loop 12 and being killed in Washington DC again, Nico realizes: He needs to learn how to fight.
-Unless he gets killed early or refuses to leave Westover, the loop resets after seven days. So, he has seven days to train each time.
-He gets to camp, finds the arena, and meets Clarisse La Rue. He demands she teach him how to kill monsters.
-She laughs, and tells him that attitude in his size will make monsters easy to kill, they’ll laugh so hard.
-Clarisse teaches him how to swing a sword each time--but only after mocking his unamused face.
-Somehow, Percy coming back with news of Bianca’s death only hurts more each time.
Loop 24:
-Nico wakes up before Bianca this time. He looks over at her bed and knows. He’s got to try this time.
-It’s disturbingly easy making friends with Percy Jackson after the last loops.
-Bessie’s new. Cute, but new.
-Nico wonders just how much he’s missed in the past--he thinks of Annabeth Chase, and hopes she hasn’t been dying each time.
-Percy doesn’t even argue when Nico shows up in the stables with a bag slung over his shoulder, and the sword he’s been stealing out of the shed strapped to his hip.
-Nico suggests the ice cream--again--to Percy in DC before
-Nico might be getting the hang of this.
Loop 25:
-Nico is not getting the hang of this.
-Zoë Nightshade’s refusal to accept Percy and Nico on the quest--violating a prophecy, and gods, Nico’s curious if that prophecy ever mentioned this--has so far gotten them attacked and killed by spartoi once.
-And again. As Nico bleeds out on the floor, he watches a panicked blond man--a demigod--plead for mercy.
-Isn’t he on the other side?
Loop 26:
-His name is Luke Castellan and he apparently wants the gods dead.
-Nico can relate at this point.
-The General is Atlas, and Nico knows enough about Greek mythology, real and wrong, at this point to know that is bad.
Loop 27:
-Twenty-six tries, but they finally make it out of DC. Threatening the questers with Atlas killing them all is more than enough.
-For the first time, Nico doesn’t know what happens next. He glues himself to Bianca’s side and glares at anything suspicious.
-With help that Percy refuses to name, even when Nico tries his hardest, they go to New Mexico.
-There’s a boar and it’s so close, they make it to what the others are calling “the junkyard of the gods”.
-Nico sees the Hades figurine on the ground.
-Bianca grins in delight and picks it up, calling for him.
-He can’t help it.
-Nico starts screaming.
Loop 28:
-His sister’s murderer was never Percy Jackson.
-His sister’s murderer was a force of mechanics that makes Nico fully understand, for the first time, what the gods are, beyond stats on a card.
-Talos.
-Nico is going to destroy him.
Loop 29:
-She dies.
Loop 30:
-Again.
Loop 31:
-Again.
-Loop 32, 33, 34, 3536373839FortyFo r t y O n  e--:
-Again. Again. Again. Again again againagainagainagainAGAIN--
Loop 42:
-Nico gets out of bed. He finds Percy Jackson at the dance, hugs him, and tells him he’s sorry.
-Nico walks outside and waits for Dr. Thorn in the snow. He can feel the shadows curling at the edge of the wood like a sixth sense, now. Waiting for him to summon the restless dead out of them.
-So many attempts to save his sister, ranging from sacrificing himself to sacrificing Percy--not that Percy needs the push, Nico has found--to any and all members of the quest.
-She dies. Always, always dies. Whatever Nico does, that junkyard is full of the death of Bianca di Angelo.
-He tried avoiding it. Once. Loop 33. Nico threw such a fit he’s surprised he wasn’t sent back to Camp Half-Blood by the Hunters, but it kept them out of the junkyard.
-He tries not to remember how little was left of his sister’s body by the monsters that time.
-Son of Hades. After all this time, Nico’s beginning to wonder if this is what it means. Death and death and death.
-Dr. Thorn walks outside, and Nico can feel a ghoulish grin crossing his face that has no place on a ten-year-old.
-One of them is going to die, this loop. And Nico will not go to New Mexico.
Loop 43:
-Nico wonders if there was a past life of his he needs to remember. Who could he have made this angry?
-He lies to Bianca and they stay in Westover again this time. Better than death, anyway.
Loop 44:
-Nico tries a different tack this time. A more roundabout way of things.
-He takes Bianca and throws the two of them in the way of the battle with the manticore.
-After all this time, he still doesn’t know much about Annabeth Chase. She gets kidnapped and returned safely to Percy every time, to the best of his knowledge.
-Nico dies holding up the sky, but at least Bianca lives, under the protection of Artemis.
Loop 45:
-Nico looks in the mirror and studies the new grey streak with fascination. And, maybe, some hope.
-Things can change.
Loop 46, 47, 48, 49, 50:
-Nico gets kidnapped a few times. Once, he’s killed in a rage by a Titan with horns, but it’s quick. Mostly, he holds up the sky to get Artemis out.
-She looks at him strangely each time and Nico wonders if she can see what he’s done.
Loop 51:
-They figure out he’s a son of Hades. They offer him Olympus. Olympus and Bessie--the Ophiotaurus, rather.
-Nico says no.
Loop 52:
-Nico says yes.
Loop 53:
-Being on the verge of overthrowing the gods and keeping everyone he’s grown to care for--in the case of several Hunters, against his will; in Percy Jackson’s case, Nico loves him as much as he hates him at this point--doesn’t do much, apparently.
-Nico stays in Westover again. He resists the urge to tell Bianca that would-be destroyers of Olympus don’t need to brush their hair, whatever she says.
Loop 54:
-Nico goes over the edge of the cliff again, but with Percy Jackson.
-This isn’t the first time; in Loop 46, Percy had taken the sky for both the sake of Artemis and Nico until it killed him.
-What’s different, is Nico’s in the middle of what’s become the usual panic attack when he’s about to die for the hundredth time, and his powers react.
-Percy holds him close and calls him cousin. Tells him he’ll never leave Nico.
-You have no idea, Nico whispers. You can’t leave me.
-You think I want to? Percy whispers back. You’re not alone, Nico.
-Nico’s sobbing sounds like laughter.
Loop 55:
-Nico tells Percy the truth for the third time. This is the first time he hasn’t told Bianca first.
-They’ve just found the Erymanthian Boar, Thalia’s told Nico his goth needs work--whatever that means--and Nico’s bracing himself for the junkyard again.
-Getting kidnapped by the Titans really gets old after a while.
-He still has the grey streak, and no number of excuses will fully soothe his sister, but the Hunt’s a good distraction from it.
-Nico doesn’t blame Bianca anymore for it. He thinks.
-Nearly a year into this loop and Nico’s finding it hard to blame anyone for much of anything, anymore. Especially when he sees what she’s faced. Again. And again.
-For now, this time, Percy Jackson is staring at Nico with wide eyes at what Nico’s told him--through these loops, Nico’s starting to wonder if he now knows more about Percy than Percy’s own best friends--and says he believes him.
-Once, Nico would’ve exploded from joy. Now, he just sighs and nods.
-Percy tells him how to condense the conversation for the next loop. He advises Nico to research Talos, “like Annabeth would.”
-He advises Nico to warn Percy’s next loop self about Annabeth’s kidnapping. Nico wonders if he’s gone insane that he’s considering it.
-Bianca dies.
Loop 56:
-Nico makes the executive decision this time to try and befriend Annabeth Chase. As such, he takes Percy’s advice.
Loop 57:
-It takes him two tries to befriend Annabeth Chase and learn about Talos.
Loop 58:
-Three times.
-But the nail. The nail in the ankle of Talos.
Loop 59:
-He hangs back at camp again this time and meets Charles Beckendorf, head of Cabin Nine, and son of Hephaestus.
-Nico figures that short of finding the god himself and committing temporary suicide--not that it hasn’t crossed Nico’s mind--his son will have to do.
-(He’s tried his hand at summoning ghosts, but Daedalus refuses to show, for some reason)
-Beckendorf frowns and tells Nico he would have to see Talos himself.
-Nico hadn’t realized just how much cursing he had picked up off of Percy and Thalia until that moment.
Loop 60:
-Nico knows what the prophecy says. One shall be lost in the land without rain.
-He knows it’s why he’s been failing so much.
-The trouble is, he no longer cares.
Loop 61:
-It took him a try, but he gets Beckendorf on the quest, prepared to defeat the Talos prototype.
Loop 62:
-Strike that, two tries.
-Nico really hates the Nemean Lion.
Loop 63, 64:
-Nico has solved half a problem: How to defeat Talos without putting someone inside the robot.
-The other half of the problem is now that they are all electrocuted by a dying automaton for their efforts.
Loop 65:
-Beckendorf’s crush--girlfriend? crush, they’re both insisting--Silena Beauregard comes along this time. Nico won’t complain over the extra manpower, even if he’s positive that eight campers and Hunters are patent overkill for one quest.
-Silena pulls Bianca out of the wreckage. Nico’s heart stops.
-Silena’s crying when she mentions that if they had been a bit earlier, she could have been revived.
-Nico wonders if Thalia’s going to stab him as he starts whooping. And takes notes about where Talos falls.
Loop 66:
-Nico swears, if Percy Jackson tries to sacrifice himself for Annabeth Chase one more time--
Loop 67:
-Bianca.
-I found you, he sobs. I found you.
-Gods damn the Hoover Dam.
Loop 68:
-And again.
-Despite having the distinct inkling at this point that he doesn’t much like like girls, Nico could kiss Silena Beauregard and Thalia Grace when they manage to revive his sister each time.
-She’s shaky and leaning on him and was dead, he could see her soul floating away--
-But she’s there.
-Nico refuses to let his sister out of the sight at the Hoover Dam and Percy befriends the Naiads this time.
-At least, until the Titans--who Nico made the very big mistake of taunting at DC--sends monsters he can’t control.
Loop 69, 70, 71, 72, 73:
-They keep dying in various combinations at the Hoover Dam now that Nico’s figured out how to save Bianca.
-At least, until he gets separated from Percy in Loop 73 and he meets a redheaded girl with a penchant for calling Nico pint-size.
-Athena dislikes Percy, Nico, Bianca, and Thalia in equal measure. Having learned of the Great Prophecy in Loop 16 and Percy’s mooning over Annabeth in. . .well, every loop, Nico can’t quite blame her.
Loop 74:
-Her name is Rachel Elizabeth Dare and Nico likes her. She takes none of their shit and if it weren’t for the fact that they already have eight people on the quest, he’d want to take her along.
-Bianca gets in a fight with the Old Man of the Sea. Thalia electrocutes him when he throws Bianca in the bay.
Loop 75:
-Nico wakes up in Westover with the distinct feeling that he was drowned on dry land.
-He stays in bed shivering, that day.
Loop 76:
-Atlas is the father of Zoë Nightshade. Nico learned this around Loop 50. He had realized around five loops ago that this probably meant she was going to die “by a parent’s hand.”
-He hadn’t realized that it was going to hurt to watch.
Loop 77, 78, 79, 80, 81:
-Now that he’s figured things out to about San Francisco, it seems the world is out to get him. The number of fights or mistakes that he either makes himself or has to head off are ridiculous.
Loop 82:
-Nico is so very tired. And wishes he felt ten years old again.
Loop 83:
-If Thalia gets in one more fight with Nereus, Nico's going to walk into the sea.
Loop 84:
-He wanders off, in this one. Grover had been killed in Hoover Dam, so Nico’s waiting for the reset at this point.
-In the meantime, Nico figures there are worse things to do than enjoy a good afternoon in San Francisco. He even meets a boy in a purple shirt.
-His name is Jason and he has hair like the sun.
-If he ever fixes this, Nico wants to find him.
Loop 85:
-Nico’s not fast enough in the junkyard.
-In San Francisco, he tries to find the ugliest, biggest trouble he can find.
-He finds a pair of teenagers in armor who yell Latin at him instead.
Loop 86:
-There’s a dragon that will attack them in the Garden of the Hesperides if they make it angry enough and Nico is so tired.
Loop 87:
- Zoë Nightshade is dead. They’ve won.
-Funny definition of “win”, considering they’ve all almost died this loop about a dozen times each, and Nico can’t explain why he’s crying on the body of a Hunter he only met a week ago, in their eyes.
-She hates him, some loops. More loops, she looks at him with ghosts of old grief in her eyes and hands him a knife.
-The gods execute Bessie, and then, Nico watches as his father turns to him and Bianca with sorrowful eyes.
-Nico should’ve figured, after almost ninety loops.
Loop 88:
-Luke offers one of them the entrails of Bessie again.
-Nico takes them.
Loop 89:
-For all the good it does. Nico wakes up as he does every time now: Powerless, in bed, and with only a grey streak to show for his efforts.
Loop 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98:
-Nico doesn’t know how to save Zoë Nightshade. Bianca, he could trick and fight his way into it. Beckendorf and Silena and Percy and a loophole in lost could save his sister.
-Her, she just. . .dies. Sometimes in DC, sometimes in San Francisco, sometimes on the hills of Mt. Tamalpais. Always at the hands of Atlas.
-Always, being murdered by her father.
-It’s not as gutting as watching his sister die, but it aches more in his chest, somehow.
Loop 99:
-He sticks close to Zoë this time. Same as he’s done with Percy, Annabeth, his sister, Thalia, and Grover, time and time again. But not her, Nico is realizing. Not the clinging he’s achieving now.
-Hoping for. . .something.
-He knows better than to tell the immortal Lieutenant of Artemis the whole truth. The loneliness is enough.
-She’s less frosty to him from the start than to, say, Grover or Percy, after Annabeth goes over the cliff again. When he shows up in DC, she’s much less angry than he’s seen her.
-Along the way to New Mexico and then San Francisco, he listens. He’s grown better at it, this far in. When the others are asleep, when Bianca is being fussed over after Talos, when everyone but them is asleep by the fire, he listens.
-And she tells him about her sisters. About her father, when the world was young and Atlas had looked on every daughter of his with pride. She tells him, pride glistening in her eyes, of the battles she has seen, the hunts she has overseen at the command of a goddess, the monsters she has killed, and the epithets she has been given.
-He doesn’t ask anything of her. Not until they’re in the house of Annabeth’s father, drinking lemonade the night before the battle, and Nico knows she is about to die again.
-What do you want, he asks. You’ve done everything. What’s left?
-She stopped, ice seems to creep over her again, and Nico wondered if he’d hit some sore spot.
-He’s opened his mouth to make his apologies when she answers, so quiet and quick he thinks he’s imagined it.
-To be remembered. When my lady has taken another lieutenant, as she must, and I have gone to where all gods go when they die, I wish for my memory to remain. And. . .
-Nico waits, and ignores the sudden, terrifying thought that he no longer knows what he wants.
-I wish to see the stars again. I was born a nymph of the sunset; starlight is precious to me. I want to see it again.
-Nico dies to preserve the memory of Zoë Nightshade.
100:
-Nico di Angelo wakes up in Westover Hall. He hopes for the last time.
-He does everything right: Annabeth goes over the cliff, his sister joins the Hunt, Percy is soon his friend, and he convinces Silena and Beckendorf to join the quest.
-The Nemean Lion never stands a chance, and Nico is glad to be rid of it.
-His sister lives.
-Nico watches Percy watch Rachel Elizabeth Dare go, looking like he’s just taken a frying pan to the face, and fights the urge to snicker.
-Thalia doesn’t start a fight with Nereus, but Percy certainly does. Nico could’ve sworn he saw the boy with sun-hair again, watching with curiosity.
- Zoë Nightshade dies in the arms of Artemis and is made into the stars she loves so dearly. Nico promises her soul that he will remember.
-For, he has found, the dead have a tendency of remembering things they shouldn’t.
-Annabeth and Percy now have grey streaks to match Nico’s, and Nico can’t wait to spend the rest of his life trying to explain that.
-It’s closer than he would like, but much less close than other lives with Olympus. The Ophiotaurus is alive and safe, and they are all alive.
-As Nico walks out of the council, he looks off to the side. By the fire is the familiar girl with red eyes--the Lady Hestia, looking much closer to Nico’s age than that of the Olympian she is.
-Besides her are three old ladies. Nico’s heard about them from Percy, in Loops 26, 53, 61, and 62.
-One lady holds a ball of string that is the color of a warm umber. The other is knitting what looked suspicious like socks. The last. . .
-Scissors, in one hand. Just as expected. Nico swallowed.
-In the other, was a knot of burnt string, tied to the socks. Behind her, Nico could see discarded string of all colors: an electric blue, a stormy grey, a black that seems to glisten with the promise of a storm, string the soft, hopeful pink of love, yarn run through with bright copper.
-Glowing threads that Nico could only describe as the color of starlight.
-As he walked out, firmly between Percy Jackson and Thalia Grace, the Hunt of Artemis behind him, Nico hears one last promise:
It is done, Nico di Angelo.

Summary: It's been almost 20 years since the nuclear explosions that destroyed all of Hope County. A lot has changed, many new faces, old friends and new enemies are all head.

"I was just an infant when all this happened. My name is Cristina Tatiana Winchester-Smith, and life has never been the same, to my parents at least. Half my life I spent living underground in a bunker. All this was just an experience for my siblings and I. My family had to rebuild everything they had established. Saving, helping out those in need, it's our family business.

The next generation of the Winchester family has grown over the last 15+ years. Ever since the bombs dropped, Joseph Seed was right about everything. Everyone in Hope County emerged from their bunkers after 7 long years. The Collapse happened, sending the world into a nuclear holcaust by the Man upstairs, but that still doesn’t mean he, God, didn't play Joseph Seed and his family. 
Cristina Winchester-Smith, the eldest daughter to Paige Winchester and Kenneth Smith along with her younger sister Bianca, and their cousin Daenerys, the only daughter to Kate Winchester, and unfortunately the daughter to John Seed, whom she doesn't know anything about because she doesn't know of his existence. 
Walking through the ruins of what was once Holland Valley. Everything's destroyed, gone, obsolete. 
Paige used to tell them how everything was, how everything was beautiful, the small town of Falls End, the church, the bar, the agriculture. How life was beautiful and simple, before the bombs fell, and now everything is obsolete. Never, not once telling them about the Cult that terrorized the whole town and how the leaders tortured their whole family.
They walk through the tall grass, rummaging through the prepper stashes in the abandoned destroyed houses looking for supplies.
"Did you find anything!?" Bianca calls out, from a nearby house.
"No, nothing!" Daenerys yells back, not far from her.
In another house 20 feet away from them, Cristina is digging, and pushing debris of a collapsed house out of the way. As she's searching for supplies, a gust of wind blows through the house, and a flutter like noise. She doesn't think anything of it. She hears footsteps from behind her, thinking it's her sister or cousin.
"Hey, did you find anything?!?" she asks, not looking back. Digging through the rubble.
After a few moments of no response, she speaks up again, still not looking back.
"Hey, did you find anything?!?!" she asks again. The voice of a man makes her snap her head back. 
"Ooh how this world has changed" he whispers. She turns around, and sees a tall blonde man with his back to her, slowly standing up, her hand ready on her pistol. 
"Umm who are you?!?" she asks him. 100% suspicious. 
He turns to face her. He's very attractive, he looks like he could pass for her dad. He’s so much older than her, and has beautiful piercing blue eyes.
"I go by many names" he tells her, stepping closer to the eldest Winchester.
She narrows her eyes at him and says, "I don't understand. Is that a reference to something?!".
"I'm Lucifer" he says in a calm voice that sends shivers up her spine.
Her eyes widened for a second, taking a few steps back, and let out a soft chuckle. 
“Okay!!” she laughs. When he doesn’t respond, and stares at her with a serious, dead look. She internally panics.
"Wha-?!!? No?! You serious??" she whispers, trying to play it off but the fear in her voice betrays her.
"Yes" he responds softly, standing still in front of her, blocking the doorway, the only way out.
"You better be joking” she tells him, after a few moments of no response from him “Are you gonna kill me?!?!". 
He steps closer to her, examining her face. He tilts his head to the side while examining her face. She slowly backs up. 
"You look familiar" he says softly. 
Cristina is a splitting image of her mother Paige. Lucifer thinks that this person is Paige Winchester, but appearing much younger, and with blue streaks in her hair. 
He reaches his hand out to touch her face. She backs up against the wall. 
She’s able to duck underneath him, avoiding his touch, only for him to appear in front of her again.
She lets out a slight gasp, and drops to the floor. Crawling away from him.
“I’m not gonna kill you” he tells her, with a hint of annoyance in his voice. 
She crawls back to where she was before, her back against the wall. He kneels in front of her, his hand reaches out to touch her face. Freaking out, she’s never seen, nor met this man before. His huge hand touches her forehead, and he closes his eyes. After a few seconds his eyes open, and are now glowing red. 
She panics, and crawls away from him. Her scream getting caught in her throat, unable to call for the other two.  
“Winchester” he mutters,”You’re a Winchester”.
“Yeah” she responds, softly, her voice breaking. 
“I’m guessing the other 2 are Winchesters as well?!” he asks.
She nods her head, “Yeah” muttering softly.
“Paige Winchester is your mother I’m guessing” he asks, standing up, and taking a few steps away from her. 
“Yeah?. Why?” she asks, beyond confused. 
He sighs, and with a hint of annoyance in his voice, “I know your mother, and her sister Kate Winchester. Pretty much your whole damn family”. 
He turns back around to face her, and says “Sam and Dean Winchester are, or were Paige and Kate’s 1st cousins. So that makes them your 2nd cousins? I’m guessing?!”.
Dumbfounded, and wondering if this is all some dream or hallucination. He’s telling her about relatives that she has never met before, she’s heard her mother talk about them to Kate and her father Kenneth. 
“I still don’t understand” she tells him, shrugging. Confusion written all over her face.
“The famous Winchester clan. My dad, God, he was bored of the human race. That he did all of this” he explains to her enthusiastically, with his arms out. Referring to the collapse, and the world being destroyed. 
“My mom said that some man named Joseph Seed said that all this would happen” she tells the Archangel.
“Yes, because he was picked by God, but what he didn’t know was that, God, Chuck was playing him, and would lead to the destruction of humanity. Hence The Collapse" he tells her. 
Her eyes widened, everything made sense. Everything that her mom, and aunt have said over the years makes sense. 
After emerging from the bunker after 7 years, they were able to rebuild their home. Making sure everything would be protected from the Highwaymen. A group of assholes who force people out of their homes, taking whatever they want from whoever they want. 
“I didn’t catch your name” he says, breaking her from her thoughts. Crossing his arms. 
“C-Cristina” she hesitates. 
He claps his hands, “Well Cristina, you won’t see the last of me. I might pay your folks a visit. Most Angels, and a few Archangels were all cast out of Heaven when my daddy farted on humanity. So I’m gonna go find my bros” he says, “But before I leave. One more thing. You look too much like your mother. It’s weird”. He tells her with a smug, disgusted look on his face, as if she were responsible for how she looks. His last words to her before he disappears, or are they?!. 
She looks around looking for him. Cannot believe that she met Lucifer. The Fallen Angel. The Devil, Satan himself!!. Her thoughts are interrupted by her little sister and cousin calling out for her. 
“Cristina!!” Daenerys calls out. Startling, and disturbing her thoughts. 
She steps out of the house, “Yeah!?!”. 
“Did you find anything?!” Bianca asks.
She shakes her head, “No I didn’t find anything”. Trying not to show any fear in her voice or in her eyes. 
“Well, I found 5 rolls of duct tape, 3 metal springs and some titanium pipes” Daenerys tells her.
“I found titanium pipes as well, and 3 rolls of copper wire” Bianca tells them. 
She nods her head, “Okay, well let’s head back to Prosperity then” she tells them. 
They jump into their motorcycles and ride back to Prosperity, their safe haven. Cris riding by herself, Bianca in hers with Daenerys in the side cart. 
They didn't find much supplies, but enough to fix a car or part of a motorcycle.
The eldest child, Cristina who is still disturbed, and discombobulated after encountering "Lucifer". She didn't say anything to the other 2 because she didn't want to freak out, or have them worry about it.
She would tell her parents but they might not believe her, telling her that it was some Highwayman trying to scare her, but that didn’t explain him disappearing out of nowhere, and his eyes glowing red. Thinking about everything he said. Him saying that he knew her mother, and aunt.
They make it back to Prosperity, walking through the front gate with their supplies. They hand all their supplies they found to Nick Rye, and they go inside the house.
"Hey, are you guys hungry?" Paige, the mother to Cristina and Bianca asks.
"Yeah, sure" Cristina replies. Trying not to look bothered
She hands them plates with different types of sandwiches and chips. They all sit outside on the steps. Paige notices her eldest daughter looks bothered.
“Cri, you okay?” she asks. Putting on her best concerned mother look.
She lifts her head up, and looks at her mother, “Yeah, I’m fine. I’m just a little tired” she replies.
Paige nods, and goes back to making lunch for everyone in the safehouse.
As they’re sitting outside eating, Kate along with Selene walk down the stairs with boxes of medical supplies. Daenerys sees them, and immediately gets up from the steps. 
“Hye mom!” she calls out. Kate turns to face her only child.
“Yes Dany!?” she asks.
“Would it be okay if Cristina, Bianca, Jeff, Tom, Carmina and I go to Roughneck’s Crag tonight?” she asks, trying to use her puppy dog eyes that she inherited from her. Kate furrows her eyebrows at her, scrunching her nose. Trying to be a good parent, but also wanting to keep her daughter away from danger, but also wanting her to have fun and be a kid.  
“I’m okay with it, but you have to ask your father. He has the final word” she tells her, and walks towards the infirmary.
Daenerys’ adopted Archangel father Gabriel, whom she doesn't know is an Archangel, nor her biological father walks by, going towards the garage. He was one of the several Angels that were all cast out of Heaven when the bombs fell. 
“Hey dad!” she calls out.
He stops, faces her and says with a smirk. “Yes Dany boy?”. She rolls her eyes in embarrassment at the nickname he gave her. 
“Would it be okay if Bianca, Cristina, Jeff, Tom, Carmina and I go to the Roughneck’s Crag tonight?” she asks, with her blue puppy dog eyes.
He crosses his arms, staring at her, trying to put on his best strict father face. “Did you ask your mother?”.
“Yes” she replies.
“And what did she say?” he asks, looking down at the small pink haired human that is his daughter. 
“To ask you. But she said she was okay with it” she replies, using the puppy dog eyes on him “Sooo is it okay!?!”.
He stays silent for a moment, anticipating to answer her question. “It’s okay with me. Just be careful” he tells her.
“Thanks dad” she says, and goes back to her cousins at the steps. He goes to the garage where Nick Rye, and Kenneth Smith are. “What did he say?” Bianca asks her. 
“He said it was okay” she answers.

Later that night, at the Winchester-Smith compound, Bianca, Cristina, Jeffrey, Thomas and Daenerys leave for the Roughneck’s. Which is a hang out spot for those who survived the Collapse, and need to take a breather.
“Be safe!!” Paige shouts as they drive off the property. 
Kenneth taught Cristina how to drive when she turned 15, since there are no cops. Well there are a few cops but they don’t care. No law enforcement officers that survived the bombs cares about their jobs. So she can drive without a license.
All of the adults stay behind. Paige, Kate, Kenny, Gabriel, as well as their old friends Mark, Nate, Martin, Cody, Adrian and their families. Paige and Kate’s mother Mandy, and their godmother Barbara. 
They had to rebuild, and expand their house, once they came out from the bunker after 7 long years. Splitting the house into 3 houses once again.
Putting up a 25 foot wall, solid concrete with a 25 foot iron gate. Security cameras pointed at all corners of the property. Always heavily armed.
“I’m not very comfortable about them going out this late” Kenny says to Paige. 
She sighs, “I’m not either, but I want them to have fun. They know what to do when they encounter the Highwaymen”. 
Kate and Gabriel approach them from behind. 
“Daenerys has an ear to detect trouble, they’ll be fine” Kate explains, reassuring them.
“Yeah, I know. I just don’t want them to run into the twins” Kenny tells her. 
Kate scoffs, shaking her head “The twins. Mickey and Lou, a couple of little fucks, who need an ass whooping”. Paige chuckles, “Yeah, no shit”. 
“They’ll be fine. I know it” Gabriel tells them, sitting on the kitchen counter. They turn to face him, “Are your Archangel senses kicking in?!” Paige jokes. 
He nods his head side to side, “Whatever I have left, which isn’t much” he tells them.
“So you’re a human?!” Kenneth asks.
“Partially human” he says, before joking “I hate it. I know I’m fond of humanity, but how do you all live like this?!?”. 
They laugh, despite what this celestial has gone through, from being cast out of Heaven, losing his grace but he got to marry his soulmate, even if she doesn’t know it. The soulmate part. 
“You know you love it!!” Kate teases, wrapping her arms around his neck. Placing his hands on her waist, pulling her closer to him.
“If I have to deal with you, I’ll take it” he responds, kissing her. He gets off from the counter, and heads outside. 
“Where you going?!” she asks him. He turns to her, “I’m gonna try, and contact my old man for the 5,678th time”.
“Is Heaven radio even working?!” Paige asks, “Is anyone up there taking the calls?” 
He shrugs “It does work, nothing but static. They still should get my calls. Even if the line is busy”. He goes outside, standing far away from the house, so he can get his message through the line. 
He looks up at the sky, and prays “Hey dad, it's me, Gabriel. Answer me, or you won’t get rid of me until you answer all of my questions. You’ve been holding off for 17 years and you will reply back”. 
A moment a silence, then a gust of cold wind blows past him. Looking up at the night Montana sky with green, pink Northern lights illuminate all day and night. 
“Well, well, well” a familiar male voice says. He turns around, and sees his older brother.
“Lucifer?!” he exclaims, surprised to see his fallen brother.
“Gabriel?!” he mocks him, “You’re one of the Archangels that fell?!”.
He shrugs, “Yep. The old man won’t respond to my calls”.He takes a few steps closer to his older brother, “He owns me, and every other angel an explanation”. 
Lucifer steps closer to his little brother, he sighs, then his eyes wander up, and sees Kate at a window inside the house. 
“Are-are you living with the Losechesters?!?” he asks. Look of disgust on his face. 
He looks back at the house, then back at Lucifer, “Yeah, after I fell and landed on Earth. With the very little powers I had, I teleported to them” pointing back towards the Winchesters who don’t see them.
“So they took you in?!?” Lucifer asks, confused.
Gabriel sighs, “Yeah, and I uhh. I eventually had a relationship with Kate”. 
Shaking his head in confusion, nothing knowing what to say, “You had a relationship with Kate Losechester?!” he asks.
“Well, I'm still in a relationship with her” he says. Still beyond confused that his brother is in a relationship with a weak inferior human, “I’m practically a step father” he adds.
His eyes widened, “You? A father?. How the Hell did that happen?!” he asks, holding back laughter.
He sighs once again, “Well around the time daddy dropped a deuce on humanity. Kate was pregnant, and when I teleported to their bunker, she was 7,8 maybe 9 weeks, Paige was also pregnant, she had triplets. Kate had a daughter, and that's how I became a step father. Being underground for 7 years because of radiation. I would’ve nailed Kate, and impregnated her myself but you know the whole Nephilim thing, and she’ll die giving birth to it”.
Lucifer trying to take in everything Gabriel said, and trying to process it all at once.
“So. So you’re human?!?” he asks. 
“Partially human. I still have my powers, they're just very limited. I have no access to Heaven, Hell, Purgatory. I can still teleport, but I’m not as strong as I was before I fell”. He sighs loudly, crossing his arms, looking up at the night sky. He looks back at his brother, and asks “So why are you here?!”.
Lucifer shrugs, and says “Looking for my brothers, and I found one so far”.
“Hey Gabe!” Kate calls him from inside the house.
“Come on Gabe, I can take you away from here. Away from them” he says, trying to convince his brother to go with him to looking for the other Angels. 
He shakes his head, “I’m sorry Lucifer. I live here now, I’m glad you want me to help, but I can’t leave them. I can’t do this to her”.
He rolls his eyes, sighing in annoyance. “Come on Gabe, this is the same Kate Winchester that killed Lilith, and freed me from my cage, which I am thankful for. The same Kate Winchester that watched her own sister get turned into a vampire, and didn’t do shit. The same Kate Winchester that lost her soul, and was a demon. The same Kate Winchester that-”.
“Stop!!. Just stop!” Gabriel cuts him off. “I’m not staying just because of Kate. Yeah I married her-”
Lucifer cuts him off by groaning in disgust, “You married a human?!?. Even worse you married a Winchester!!”. 
He ignores his interruption, and continues, “I married her, but I’m not staying just because of her, I’m staying because of Daenerys. Her daughter. My daughter!”. Lucifer crosses his arms, rolling his eyes in annoyance. 
“She is not your daughter!. She’s John Seed’s daughter. She’s not a damn Nephilim, nor does she have any angelic grace".
He glares at him, “John Seed is dead. I was there throughout Kate’s pregnancy. Since the beginning before Daenerys was even a damn embryo. It’s dad’s fault, he’s responsible, he kept me away from her because of his stupid little game”.
He raises his hands in defeat, “Okay. That's fine. If you wanna live amongst the humans, that's fine with me. But I’m not done with you little brother.” 
Gabriel rolls his eyes, turns around, and walks back towards the house.
“Maybe. I’ll pay little Dany a visit” Lucifer speaks out, making Gabriel stop in his tracks.
He turns to face his brother, “If you touch her, or go anywhere near her. I will kill you” he threatens him.
Lucifer smirks at him, “How?. You ain’t gotten any powers”. He goes to grab him but he disappears before he could get to him.
“Gabriel!!” Kate calls out for him again.

Bianca, Cristina, Daenerys, Thomas, Jeffrey and Carmina Rye are hanging out at what was once Steele Farm. Laughing, having a fun time, enjoying the Montana night. The radiation caused the sky to have their own Northern Lights. This was always a great hang out for them because you can see pretty everything from this view. 
Especially from the second floor of the hut. They spent 7 years living underground in their bunkers, and when it was time to come back out. 
Their families rebuilt everything, upgrading everything, their security, their weapons.
The Winchester kids come from a long line of hunters, their parents, their grandparents, their great grandparents, and so on were all hunters, but they don’t know this information because their parents didn’t want them to know of the evil that is out there in the world.
Cristina was always told that “God doesn’t care about anyone. That’s why everything was destroyed. He wanted all of us dead, to wipe us all out of existence because of one man. His name was Joseph Seed”.
She always thought that was a metaphor, or something like that. Yeah everything was destroyed by the bombs, and everything looks depressing. Mainly for their parents because everything was once beautiful, and normal. Life was enjoyed. They lived through it.
To them, to the kids, this was beautiful, and it was just the beginning for them.
Cristina keeps thinking about what “Lucifer” said to her. She feels like she should tell someone maybe not her siblings, or Daenerys or Carmina. Maybe she can tell her parents, her aunt, or her grandmother about that. Maybe this Joseph Seed man, maybe he’s still alive.

The Breakup version 2 (Biadore) - Whiskey Neat
A/N: I’ve already written a breakup fic a while back but I’m not completely happy with the direction I went with that one. I wrote the old one in a way that I thought other people would want it to go, so I decided to rewrite it now but in the way I want it to go. This one is definitely more realistic, and I prefer to write Adore and Bianca as friends as opposed to lovers.
Summary: Adore gets her heart broken and Bianca puts her back together.
Bianca knew something was off the moment Adore walked into the house. The long haired queen looked exhausted even though she had only been out for a few hours. Half-heartedly wiped away mascara smudges surrounded red eyes that looked like they were moments away from pouring tears. If that wasn’t enough to raise concern in Bianca’s brain, Adore had stated that she “wasn’t hungry” and “just wanted to go to bed” after Bianca told her about the leftover pizza in the fridge.
After chugging a glass of water, Adore slowly made her way out of the kitchen. Bianca didn’t stop her, figuring Adore would come to her when she was ready to talk about it. She knew from past experience that pushing Adore to open up would only make her become more reserved.
Still wanting Adore to know that she cared, Bianca offered a genuine, “Hey…I love you” before Adore made it around the corner. Adore stopped for a moment before turning around halfway to look at Bianca with sad eyes. “I love you too” she muttered quietly before continuing her trek to the bedroom.
Bianca let her be after that, heading to her sewing room to finish up a few garments she had been working on.
Meanwhile in the bedroom, Adore was a wreck. Her boyfriend of one year had broken up with her after telling her that he didn’t love her anymore. She had begged and pleaded, hoping that somehow they could fix the relationship but her (now ex) boyfriend had already made up his mind that he didn’t want anything to do with her anymore. She felt completely broken and helpless, wondering what she could’ve done wrong to make him stop loving her.
This was a bad spiral. Even worse, she was currently facing it alone. She knew Bianca was somewhere in the house, but she avoided going to find her until she absolutely could not take it anymore. Wiping her tears and streaming nose, Adore wrapped herself in a blanket and headed down the dark hallway to find her Willow.
The light in the sewing room was on and she could hear the light tapping sound of Bianca’s beloved sewing machine. Entering the room, she only made it a few steps before Bianca looked up at her.
“Come to bed.” Adore said, trying to keep her voice steady.
“I’ll be right there, just give me a couple-“
“Please…” Adore whimpered, face scrunching up. Suddenly her legs didn’t want to hold her anymore so she fell to her knees, sobbing.
Adore knew how dramatic this all must seem to Bianca but nonetheless, she immediately dropped what she was doing and rushed over to comfort her friend on the floor.
She wrapped her arms tightly around the burrito of sadness that Adore Delano currently was, rubbing her back and whispering words of comfort while Adore all but gasped for breath, choking on her words while unsuccessfully trying to explain what had happened.
Eventually, Bianca was able to piece together somewhat of a story from the few words Adore kept repeating: “Broke up…doesn’t love me…not enough.”
“You’re okay, I know it hurts right now but it’s going to get better. You’re not going to feel this way forever. You’re going to be okay. Deep breaths…that’s it…shhh” Bianca comforted, not releasing the tightly gripped embrace she held Adore in, hoping somehow she could hug her friends broken pieces back together.
After about 10 minutes, Adore finally started to calm down. The sobs had slowed to hiccups and she was now able to breathe without fearing she’d pass out.
“Let’s get you back to bed, okay?” Bianca offered.
Adore nodded against her chest, allowing Bianca to help her to her feet and guide her back to the bedroom. After tucking Adore in, Bianca rushed to go brush her teeth before joining Adore in the bed.
The next morning, Bianca awoke to Adore’s body pressed against her side. As much as she didn’t want to disturb the sleeping queen, she really had to pee. Bianca gently slid herself out of the bed and placed a pillow in between Adore’s arms, where her own body had been moments ago. A low groan of discontent escaped Adore’s lips due to the lack of Bianca in her arms, but she didn’t fully wake up.
Bianca hurried to the bathroom for her much needed pee and ended up showering as well while her friend slept. When she was done Adore was still asleep, body curled around the pillow. It was already almost 11am but she knew Adore had a tendency of sleeping late so it wasn’t too out of the ordinary. Bianca then decided to go have her morning coffee and a late breakfast.
When she finished eating, it was almost noon and there were still no signs of Adore being awake yet. This surprised Bianca. Normally Adore would be up and ready to start the day as soon as the smell of food made its way into the bedroom.
Curiosity and concern getting the best of her, Bianca decided to go check on Adore. She peeked in the door, only to find Adore still curled around the pillow she had left her with.
Bianca tiptoed over to the bed and sat on the edge, looking down at the sleeping queens face. The dried tear tracks from the night before were barely visible on her cheeks, but they still made Bianca’s heart clench as she remembered her favorite person sobbing brokenly in her arms.
She reached over to brush some of the messy hair out of Adore’s face. Adore stirred at the touch, tired green eyes finally opening.
“I made breakfast. You gonna get up?” Bianca asked, continuing to stroke her hair.
Adore looked up at her and shook her head ‘no’, face scrunching up as the feeling of heartbreak washed over her once again.
Bianca rushed to move the pillow and replace it with her own body, gathering Adore close and letting her cry into her chest. They stayed like that for a while, until Bianca had to leave the room to do some work.
When she returned later, Bianca found Adore asleep again. She decided to leave her alone, figuring that a sleeping Adore was better than a crying Adore.
The next two days were the same. Adore only getting out of bed to use the bathroom, and Bianca leaving her alone aside from coming in and forcing Adore to drink a glass of water every couple of hours.
Bianca figured she’d give Adore a day or two to cry it out and she’d be fine. But on the third day, Adore was still refusing to eat or get out of bed so Bianca knew she had to do something.
She changed her approach from sympathetic to uncompromising, not giving her friend the option to lay in bed anymore.
Bianca rushed into the bedroom, opening all the curtains and pulling the covers off of Adore’s lanky body.
“Get up.” Bianca ordered.
“Mmmm” Adore groaned, curling in on herself and pulling the covers back up.
Bianca immediately pulled the covers back down, exposing Adore’s half naked body to the chilly room once again.
“What the fuck Bianca?!” Adore exclaimed angrily, voice hoarse from the lack of use and constant crying over the past couple days.
“Get up. You’ve been moping long enough. You’re gonna come downstairs with me and eat something and then we’re going for a walk. Staring at these same four walls isn’t helping you at all.” Bianca told her.
“I can’t…” Adore whined, hugging herself.
“You can…and you’re going to.” Bianca said, grabbing Adore by her tattooed upper arm and pulling her towards the edge of the bed.
Despite being so much smaller than Adore, Bianca managed to pull her far enough to where Adore all but fell off the side of the bed.
“Jesus Christ, I’m fucking up!” Adore spat, stumbling to her feet and dusting herself off.
“Good! Now c’mon…I made your favorite.” Bianca told her, reaching for Adore’s arm again. Adore was too quick this time though, shrugging away from Bianca’s touch with a look that said “don’t fucking touch me”.
They reached the kitchen and Bianca sat Adore down, setting a slice of breakfast pizza on a plate in front of her.
Adore just stared at the food, feeling Bianca’s intense gaze from the other side of the table.
“I can’t.” She said shakily, the sadness twisting up her gut making her feel like she could never eat again.
“Pussyface, it’s been 3 days since you’ve eaten anything, can you at least try? Just a few bites.”
“Bianca, I can’t-“
“Please.”
Adore sighed, contemplating for a few moments before picking up the pizza slice. She took one bite…and then two…feeling more nauseous by the second. Halfway through chewing her third bite, her stomach rebelled and she had to rush to the sink to throw up the little she had eaten.
Bianca rushed over to hold her hair out of the way and mutter a few “I’m sorrys” that she was sure were going unheard. She now realized the true level of sadness that Adore was feeling and decided to change her approach back to that of sympathy.
She began rinsing the sink after Adore had finished and then looked down by her feet at where the taller queen now sat on the floor, back to the cupboards, knees to her chest, silently crying.
Kneeling down next to Adore, Bianca sighed.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have-“
“I told you I fucking couldn’t.” Adore said, voice shaking with irritation at this whole situation.
“I know. I should’ve listened…”
Adore rolled her eyes and shook her head, willing the tears to stop falling.
“How about this…I’ll run you a nice hot bath and put on your favorite music. I can even light some candles if you want. That way you can just relax and get your mind off things. Would that be okay?”
Adore wiped her cheeks with the collar of her crop top, mulling the idea over in her head, before nodding.
Bianca got to work finding the candles and setting them up around the modestly sized bathroom. She then turned on the water, and found Adore’s speaker and phone, scrolling through her friends playlists until she found one that seemed fitting.
Once the scene was set, she called Adore into the bathroom. Bianca helped Adore remove her shirt, massaging her bare shoulders after she did so. Adore moved to remove her underwear and Bianca instinctively turned around and looked away until Adore had seated herself in the bath.
“It’s not too hot, is it?” Bianca asked.
Adore shook her head, thighs squeaking against the bottom of the tub as she re-positioned herself.
“I’ll leave you to it then.” Bianca said, walking towards the door.
“Wait!” Adore said, urgently.
Bianca turned to look at her.
“Don’t wanna be alone…” She said with a pout, holding out her hand for Bianca.
Bianca moved back towards the tub, taking Adore’s hand. She seated herself on the floor next to the tub, knowing her back would be feeling this later but Adore needed her so it was worth staying.
The pair stayed silent for a bit, holding hands and enjoying each other’s company and the soft music Bianca had chosen earlier.
Soon Bianca felt a light tugging on her hand. She glanced up to see Adore looking at her with puppy dog eyes. The tugging got stronger and Bianca got the message that Adore wanted Bianca to join her in the tub.
Without a word, she stood up, stripping down to her underwear and stepping into the warm water. Adore slid forward to make room for Bianca to sit behind her.
Once Bianca was settled, Adore shifted to the side so her knees were up to her chest as she leaned against Bianca. Adore shed a few more silent tears while Bianca ran her fingers through Adore’s long brown hair, massaging her scalp as she went.
“Thank you…just…for all of this.” Adore rasped, looking up at Bianca.
Bianca wrapped her arms around Adore in response, holding her tight.
“Can we go for a walk when we get out?” Adore asked.
“Yes, of course!” Bianca replied, proud of Adore for finally being willing to leave the house.
The pair exited the tub soon after. After allowing Adore to choose whatever clothing of Bianca’s she wanted to wear, Bianca brushed and braided Adore’s hair.
Adore insisted that Bianca did her makeup too, a task that Bianca would normally refuse, but today she agreed, knowing that it would help make her chola feel better. Bianca drew a thin winged liner on Adore’s lids, along with a bit of glitter and mascara. Adore smiled for the first time in days as she looked in the mirror, already feeling more like herself.
At last, the two were ready to leave for their walk. They took the route that Adore normally went rollerblading on, just enjoying the outdoors and the fresh air (or as fresh as LA air can get). Eventually they passed by one of Adore’s favorite restaurants. Bianca continued walking a few steps before realizing Adore wasn’t next to her. She turned to find Adore looking longingly at some gravy covered French fries in the window of the restaurant.
“Yanx, can we get food?” Adore asked.
Bianca walked to the door and held it open for the other queen to excitedly skip inside, happy to see Adore’s childlike excitement about life finally coming back. She thought back to this morning when Adore couldn’t even get out of bed, but now here she was, out of the house, ordering her own food at her favorite restaurant, and wanting to eat it.
Bianca was broken out of her thoughts by Adore’s voice. “You coming Willow?”
“Uh huh!” Bianca said, striding over to where Adore was waiting by the checkout. She pulled her credit card out, handing it to the cashier before Adore even had a chance to open her own wallet.
“You’re the best, B.” Adore gushed, stuffing her mouth with fries and gravy after they had sat down. “You’re so good to me…like all the time and I really love you.”
“I love you too…but swallow your food before you talk to me, you nasty bitch.” Bianca laughed.
Adore stuck her tongue out at Bianca, displaying the half chewed food that still resided in her mouth.
“I’ll leave you here.” Bianca joked.
“You wouldn’t dare. You love me too much.”
“That is true.”
The two sat quietly for a bit while Adore finished her food.
“You know what, B?” Adore asked, breaking the silence.
“What?”
“I think I’m gonna be okay.”

“Bianca, are you okay?” Declan’s voice echoes. He gently takes Bianca’s hand in his as he glances over at her. “You’ve been so quiet since you told me about what happened between you and Grayson,” he frowns.
“I’m okay, just kinda... tired,” she lies. It’s not that she’s tired, it’s just she has been thinking about what happened earlier back home. Bianca confronted Grayson, Bianca cried, Grayson apologized, and asked Bianca to go out with him.
Was it all even real?
“Oh... Shall we go home now?,” Declan suggests as he concerns about her being so quiet around him.
“Can we?,” she looks up at him, secretly getting excited about going home. It’s nearly 5.30 and she just can’t wait to go back home and get ready for her second date for tonight.
A date with Grayson.
“Sure, I just want you to be okay,” This time Declan moves his hand up to cup her cheek. Bianca gives him a small smile as she leans into his touch. “Now let’s go then,” He gently runs his thumb across her cheek before he gets up from his seat. As soon as she gets up, he wraps his arm around her waist to keep her close, as they head out of the cafe.

“You know, Grayson is such an ass for treating you so,” Declan glances over at her quickly before he shifts his focus back to the road ahead to drive her home. Bianca remains silent, not giving any response to his comment. She didn’t even tell him that Grayson has already apologized.
As soon as they arrive at her place, Declan parks his Jeep in front of her house. Bianca gives him another smile. “Thanks for today, Declan,” she nods
“No, you don’t need to thank me. Anyway, Bi—“
Bianca’s about to get out, but his voice stops her. “Yeah?,” she turns around to face him once again.
And that’s when he quickly makes his move.
Declan wraps his arm around her shoulders to bring her closer to him, just right before he crashes his lips against hers. Bianca gasps, completely unprepared for the kiss. He moves his free hand down to meet hers to intertwine their fingers together as they kiss. He gently bites her lower lip before he pulls away. A tease.
“Declan—“
A light chuckle escapes him as he move his hand up to cup her cheek. “I’m sorry, Bi. I just had to do it,” he shakes his head.
Bianca blushes and Declan notices it. “Baby, you’re as red as the tomatoes, holy fuck. You’re so cute,” this time he gently pinches her cheek.
Baby. Again.
“Declaaaan,” Bianca whines. He laughs once again before he lets her go. “Alright, alright. I’ll see you on Monday?,” he lifts her hand up to press a gentle kiss onto the back of her hand. Bianca gives him a quick nod. And finally lets her go.
“See you, Dec,” she smiles as she gets hops out of the passenger seat. As soon as Declan leaves, she runs into the house, knowing that she has not much time left to get ready.

“Mm, damn, I love Sonic’s burgers so much,” Bianca hums as she continues to take another bite of the burger in her hand. Here she is, sitting in Grayson’s Porsche with him, with the burgers and fries from one of her favorite fastfood restaurants on her lap. “Thanks for the treat, anyway,” Bianca takes a quick glance at the man sitting next to her as she shoves her fries into her mouth.
“Hah, consider it as my apology, okay?,” he glances back at her with a smile on his face before he moves his sight back to the road ahead. He told her earlier that they’re not going to spend the night eating burgers at Sonic, instead, he planned on taking her somewhere.
“Gray?,” Bianca turns to face him as she takes a small sip of her cola. “Where are we going?,” her curiosity pushes her to ask him.
“You’ll find out soon,” Grayson replies, not even looking back at her, but another smile comes across his lips.
“Are we gonna be out late?,” she frowns this time.
“Bianca Reine, chill. It’s Saturday night, tomorrow’s a day off. You’ll love this, I promise,” he convinces her to trust him.
Bianca has no option but to let Grayson surprise him, so she slowly nods her head, shifting her gaze to the road ahead as she takes another bite of her burger. In around 10 minutes later, Grayson finally parks his car. He turns to face his bestfriend as a cheeky grin comes across his lips. He quickly gets out of the driver seat.
“We’re here!,” he yells excitedly.
Bianca follows him out, and finally notices that Grayson’s taking her to the beach. It’s nearly 9 in the evening, and they’re the only one at the beach. Grayson sits on the hood of his car, holding his hand out for Bianca.
“Come here, Bi,” he asks her to join him.
She gives him a small smile as she takes his hand in hers, letting him to help her. As she sits right beside him, Grayson turns to face her once again.
“Bianca, I’m really sorry about me being harsh to you, especially when it comes to you and Declan,” he speaks before he takes a small sip of his cola.
Bianca just nods her head. She’s actually over it ever since he apologized to her that morning.
Grayson turns his gaze from her feature to the water in front of them two. “Maybe I’m just scared of losing you. Losing one of my bestfriends. You know— you’ll be busy with Declan, and you’ll forget about—“
“Shh, not gonna happen. I’m not gonna forget you, or Ethan,” Bianca rests her index finger on his lips to cut him off, shaking her head slowly.
Grayson wasn’t even prepared, his eyes go wide as soon as he feels her cold finger against his lips. “Alright, alright...,” he shakes his head. Bianca gives him another smile. There’s a complete silence between them for a minute.
It’s pretty cold and Bianca only wears her denim shorts and an oversized tee. With silence between them, Bianca brings her knees to her chest and wraps her arms around to keep herself warm. Grayson notices her freezing, so he takes his denim jacket off and drapes it over her shoulders.
“Pretty cold, hm?,” he coos.
Don’t fall for him, he’s taken
“Bet if Declan’s here, he would’ve kissed you to warm you up already,” Grayson chuckles at his own joke. “Has he kissed you earlier?,” he teases her.
Bianca gently nudges his rib as a light giggle comes out of her lips. “You nosy man, Bailey,” she shakes her head.
“Is it a yes?”
“Well...,” Bianca shrugs as she tucks a strand of her hair to the back of her ear. “I’m not even sure about Declan right now,” she mumbles. “I mean, yeah, he did... but I don’t even know what I feel right now,” she continues.
“Why so?,” Grayson keeps his gaze locked on hers as his curiosity grows.
“Well— I fell in love with someone I can’t have, and I’m not sure if I’m over them. When Declan kissed me, I thought about his lips, not Declan’s,” Bianca spills it all out.
“Have you tried to talk to him?,” Grayson suggests.
Bianca shakes her head. She keeps her gaze on the waves ahead as she answers. “He... has a girlfriend. And I don’t want to ruin their relationship, though I know he doesn’t deserve his girl”
“Then talk to him! Maybe it’ll help him to get someone better? Like you?,” Grayson arches his brow.
Seriously, Grayson?
“You think so?,” Bianca mumbles. Her heart is pounding so fast right now.
“Worth a try, you’ll never know,” Grayson’s shoulders rise and fall into a shrug.
Bianca remains silent for a while. Her mind is running wild. Did she really just talk about her feelings for Grayson in front of him?
“Gray...,” she calls out for him. Grayson turns to face her one more time. She freezes.
“Yeah?,” he scrunches his brows.
“It’s you...,” she whispers.
“I what?”
“It’s you that I’m talking about,” the answer comes out in a whisper.
“Bianca, what do you mean?,” he frowns.
Bianca can’t help herself. Tears slowly streaming down her cheeks. She slowly shakes her head. “Grayson... It’s you that I’m falling for. It’s you that I’ve been crushing on,” she mutters.
“Bi—“
“I don’t want to ruin what you have with Isla, but I don’t think you deserve her. You deserve so much better than her, Grayson,” she continues to pour her heart out.
“Bianca, hey—“
“Years, Grayson. I’ve been loving you for years, hoping that you’d notice my feelings for you, but it never happened. Men are so damn thick, huh?,” she forces herself to let out a light chuckle as the tears continue to roll down her cheeks.
Grayson remains silent. It hurts him to know that he’s the reason behind her sadness.
“I don’t know why I’m saying this. I guess I’m just tired of holding it back— and the fact that you suggested me to do so?,” she scoffs.
“It hurts me to watch you showing affection to Isla all the time. To watch you showering her with kisses, and giving her presents...,” Bianca sniffles. “A—and, to find out you did it with her—,” she shakes her head. This time, she hides her face between her knees.
Grayson’s heart aches, seeing her like a complete mess like that.
After few moments, she slowly lifts her head up, and wipes her tears away with the back of her hand. “But if you’re happy with her, I—I’ll try to be happy for you too... and find m—my own happiness,” she mutters as she gives him a small smile, only to convince him that she’s okay.
Another silence for a minute before Grayson breaks the silence.
“Bianca.”
She looks up at him.
“You done?,” he asks. She gives him a quick nod.
“I’m sorry, I should’ve not talk about this,” she apologizes.
“No, don’t be,” Grayson mumbles before he gently cups her cheek, with his other arm wrapped around her waist to pull her close. With that, he gently brushes his lips against hers, kissing her gently.
Her mind is running wild; Grayson Bailey Dolan, her crush, who’s also her cousin’s boyfriend, is kissing her.

ReverseRole! Bianca and “Roman”!Nico AU Part 2
This time is more about Reyna, Jason and Nico; originally was going to include some stuff from heroes of olympus but this was becoming so long. 
In the first part I tried to make something that could in theory, happen in canon; at this point this is my self-indulge au (lmao like any of them aren’t one) so if you see something you don’t agree, just leave.

Ships: Jasico. 
Things to consider: 
When Bianca and Nico meet Percy and co, Nico is 11 and Bianca is 13. Why? Because Rick literally gave an extra year to Nico in HoO and I actually feel more comfortable for him going through all this problems being at least a little older; I would keep the 2 year gap between the two because why not. The rest of the cast remain on the same age. 
This is not really important, but since Rick cannot decide a birthday for Nico, I’m going to say Nico’s birthday is May 16 and Bianca’s birthday is January 28. 
Changes: 
Nico and Reyna still have crushes on Jason, but Nico is partially unaware of his own crush, partially trying to denying it because he is sure that Jason only see him as a younger brother. The funny side of all of this is that Jason actually likes Nico back, and unlike Nico, he is fairly obvious. Reyna got a crush on Jason, but got over it fairly quickly. 
Before Heroes of Olympus: 
Jason has this crush on Nico since he is 13, at first because Nico actually act like Jason is just another teenager instead of some prince. Then they become really good friends and know each other better, Jason didn’t have a chance on this one really. 
Is just so obvious to everybody around, the bright smile that has for Nico, how he tries to impress him (he always does, and that makes him extremely happy.) 
Once they become good friends, Reyna tries to make Jason actually confess to Nico, but Jason is set in that he would not ruin his first friendship and would rather eat his own gladius than lose him. 
The three of them are really confidents with each other; Jason first tells Nico about his mother and how being the son of Jupiter was more a curse than a blessing, and Nico says that what really likes about Jason is him as a person, and that is far better than any title; Jason cry a little because he was so happy to hear somebody saying that. He later tells Reyna, who feels incredible guilty for doing that, and is determinate to change how she sees him. 
Reyna tells them about her dad, and both of them are extremely supportive of it, and telling her it wasn’t her fault at all. She would never tell anyone, but she cried of relief; for getting that out of her chest and for having people beside her even if they knew her darkest secret.
She never had that conversation with Venus, why? because thanks to talking with Nico and Jason, that open the door for recovery, so while is not over, her heart is healing because she can start to forgave herself for what happened. 
Reyna enjoys showing them disney movies, since Jason was brought to the Legion being 2 and Nico losing his memories before the Legion + being from the 40s, they missed out all the animated classics. 
(I know Blood of Olympus technically happen on 2010, but fuck it lets say this mess of a timeline happens later than canon timeline) Them going to the theaters to see How to Train Your Dragon; Jason probably loved all the movie and says it really feels like you are flying, Nico is curious if you could actually train a dragon like that (nobody lets him try obviously) and Reyna swears to them Astrid is a demigod, and Reyna most probably had a crush on Astrid. 
Jason and Nico talking about how they are confuse about what is suppose to be magical demigod stuff and what is suppose to be just regular mortal stuff (”Why the imperial gold weapons are magical stuff, but the microwave is not magical? It doesn’t make sense”). Reyna finds this hilarious. 
Nico probably picks up on mythomagic (thought not as fan as when he was younger) and Jason learns to play just for him. Reyna normally watches. 
If one of them has nightmares, most probably than not they would have bags under their eyes and try to stay awake. The remaining two would just somehow get a break on their schedules, find a place where they can take a nap, and be like “it would just be worst if you stay like this, nap time” and just cuddle between the three. Having the presence of one of them helps them to sleep, but with the two of them together the one with nightmares definitely feels safe.
Nico likes to joke that when they go on quest he doesn’t need a sleeping bag because “Jason is the bed” (Nico has slept on top of Jason many times). This normally makes Jason incredible red while Reyna has a hand on her face, but is really laughing. 
When Reyna and Jason become praetors they probably have sleepovers, Jason would totally said that they called Nico early in the morning, and everybody in the Fifth Cohort will just act like they don’t know their centurion never went to sleep at his bed at all. 
They all know each others taste, so they would give treats to each other, specially if one of them are in a sour mood. 
Jason didn’t really want to become praetor, but feel cornered, he only accepted because Reyna would be beside him. 
Reyna and Nico had told him that he can leave the Legion, he had done all his years so nobody would say anything about it; but he knows that if he tries to just have a normal life at New Rome Nico and Reyna would still be busy with the Legion and would not be able to be together as much. 
There is probably some people who are not too fond of Nico thanks to his heritage, Octavian is probably between those. Both Reyna and Jason have zero chill when is about somebody saying comments about Nico, thought Reyna would use a excuse of not being appropriate for a legionnaire to talk like that to a fellow legionnaire, while Jason makes no qualms that what he is pissed is that you don’t talk bad about Nico, period. Nico doesn’t care that much really, sure is not nice but those people are a minority, and as long as he has his best friends there is not so much he cares about. 
Nico is really mixed about how he feels about his past. Part of him really wants to learn what happened, who are those people who he vaguely remembers and why he barely remembers them. The other part knows that demigods normally have crappy lives, and if he somehow ended up losing his memories and somehow ending in the 2000s when he was born during the 30s...well, whatever happened probably wasn’t nice. In the end he is frustrated that he is upset about it because he knows he cannot change this no matter what. 
Nico decides to learn about Jason’s family at some point, so he does his own research, perhaps goes out of the Camp for a couple of days (Reyna and Jason probably lose it a little because the little shit refused to tell them why he was out); he feels incredible sad to be the one who gives the news to Jason, how his mother died in an accident while being drunk and his sister go missed (and presumedly dead). Jason is well, upset about it, and Nico and Reyna are there for him; it helps a little. 
When Bianca enters the picture, while she hates to admit it, she is incredible jealous of Jason and Reyna. They are obviously close to Nico, his demeanour is totally different around them, and it hurts her how Nico has his guard up around her, even if he looks friendly, is not the same without-filter Nico. 
And Bianca doesn’t want to admit it, because she hates herself for even thinking of it, but...she is jealous of Nico, too. Bianca has been heartbroken since the moment she thought he was dead, no day has past without she thinking of him, of being full of guilt for it, living in the streets and not having a place where she actually fit in. Nico didn’t have the burden of the horrible memories she has, Nico (while the legion is not totally friendly) has a place where to stay and people don’t perpetually look at him like he is a monsters, Nico has two people who adore him to bits and would move0 heaven and earth for him, while she has...nothing. 
Jason really tries to learn more about Bianca, because she was important to Nico. Reyna is...wary, she still acts cordial to Bianca, but she notices that Bianca is obviously hiding something, her personality is extremely different to Nico’s and whatever happened make her exude waves of agony and sorrow. 
Bianca tries to not develop any relationship with Jason or Reyna at all; she knows Reyna doesn’t trust her, and she doesn’t trust that Jason would not fry her if he learns what she is hiding (she thinks that if his father was ready to kill her and Nico just because they may be a danger later, his son would be just as fierce about protecting the Legion). Besides, the petty part of her is still on the “They stole my baby brother” part. 
Bianca probably feels worse about being jealous of Jason and Reyna, specially Reyna, who Nico acts like she is his big sister. As jealous as she is, she feels this is her fault, she was the one who trusted somebody else with her little brother, she was the one who didn’t appreciate what she had until she lost it, and now she is paying the price. 
Hazel, while being weird out of this whole ordeal, probably feels better than in canon around that time. Sure, Bianca was there to get Nico and getting her out of the realm of the death was more of a last minute thought than other thing; but instead of forgeting her as soon as she actually had her little brother back, Bianca still makes sure to check on her and try to see what she can help with her powers, even if she obviously is at lost at it. Nico looks relieved to have somebody who is also a child of Pluto in the legion, and while his powers are also not close to what she has, he still guides her and tries to teach her the ropes. 
Then Jason goes missing...
Ok this got longer than I thought, soon I would make another post with the third part, I don’t think a lot of people are on board with this au but hey I love it and doing this pointers get me closer to perhaps actually writing it, so fuck it.

A deep-dive to N's relationship with Alexis and Elliot.
Part 1
Part 2: Neo
It's been 2 years after the events of black and white. Unova, for the most part, has been peaceful. Which means life moves on.
It....kinda hurt when Bianca and Cheren started to drift away. Bianca had her studies and Cheren was training to be a gym leader. Elliot's happy for them, she is, but it still hurts. She feels alone. Maybe she wouldn't if her brother didn't leave for a green haired weirdo, but okay. Sure. Choose someone who doesn't want to be found over your own goddamn sister! Not like she care( she does).
N, amongst his travels, have learned a lot. He meet different people, different pokemon, all of which have varied reactions upon meeting him. He's glad to have meet those he can.
He thinks about the twins. He realizes that his farewell.... wasn't the best. "Hey I'm sorry for the things I caused, follow your dream and farewell?" That's leaves lots of room for confusion. He...feels like he could have done that better. Maybe if he hadn't rushed out there. He needs to make it up to his friends( even if they don't see the same way)
Though that might to have to wait: Reshiram is sensing the pain of another pokemon, Kyurem she says. N hopes that this pain is merely natural, though given Reshirand's worry....it is not. N steels himself and rushes over to Unova.
Neither of them were expecting to dumb into each other in Nimbasa City( the irony). Upon seeing N again, Elliot felt all the anger and sadness she felt for the past 2 years just well up. One minute she's trying to punch him( she keeps missing, why is he so nimble?) , the next she's crying on the Nimbasa streets, cursing at N, at Alexis, at everyone. At herself.
If this was two years ago, N probably would have left the minute Elliot was about to swing at him, and he was, but.... the anger in her face, the sadness in her eyes....it felt all too familiar. All due to him, no doubt. So he stays, barely managing to dodge her punches, and sitting next to her as she cries and rants about everything that has happened the past two years.
Including Alexis " going to find him"
" He left to look for me?"
" Yes!"
"....That's.... incredibly illogical"
" I KNOW!!"
The two stay like this for a while, Elliot ranting to N, unintentionally catching him up with things( Cheren became a gym leader, Bianca is an assistant to....Juniper), and of course, Alexis disappearance. Which is strange given how Reshiram would have probably sensed at least something from Zekrom. Then again, running away and being in deep danger are two separate things. Unless Alexis put Zekrom back in the Dark Stone. Wait-
Before N could voice his( probably unwanted) concerns, Elliot, for some reason, invites him to her and Alexis' house. Why? He doesn't know. Well he do know, because " you look a trash goblin". She then proceeds to pick up twigs and leaves from his hair.
Oh.
Well alright then.
The kind gesture ended up with awkward family meetings, apologizes, crying, and a sleepover. It was.....good. N even allowed Elliot to braid his hair.
Though that was the calm before the storm. Opelucid City was reported to be frozen over by a floating ship. Plasma. Thankfully, two kids( Eva and Wayne) manage to drive them off. But still....
With their minor bonding moment under their belts, N and Elliot come up with a plan:
1. Try and locate where Ghetsis is through Kyurem. It may be weak, given Kyurems state, but they have to try.
2. Try and get the old Team Plasma to help out in anyway they can( N is a bit hesitant at this, but he'll try)
3. Try to fucking call Alexis again, he better not have Zekrom in the Dark Stone , they need the man power-
4. Alert Bianca , the professor and the other gym leaders to prepare for an emergency evacuation. Just in case things go for the worse.
Step 1 and 2 were easy enough, Kyurems connection to Reshiram was still very weak, bit it was there. Seeing Team Plasma again was a weird experience for everyone( though N was happy to see his sisters are well....even if he got scolded for leaving). Step 3 was....hard. Just like the two years before, Alexis wouldn't pick up any form of communication. When N asked Reshiram could sense Zekrom... nothing. Alexis must have put Zekrom back into the Dark Stone. N tries not to judge him on that.
The best they could do is leave a very lengthy voicemail and pray that it reaches him, let alone he will come.
For now they just act.
Upon reaching Gaint Chasm, they meet an almost icicle impaled Eva. The good news is that they came just in time. The bad news is that Reshiram got forcibly fused with with Kyurem, N literally has no other pokemon, and Elliot is busy with literally the dozens of grunts heading there way. Eva( bless her soul) is managing to fight Ghetsis on her own, but with a fused Legendary and a maniac with a Hydreigon that hates it's trainers soul, things don't look so good-
Oh.
Wait.
Is that-
Wait, wait, no time for that! They have a region to save.
N can't help but feel entirely useless in the whole thing. Watching a strange, but brave girl take on her fa- Ghetsis. Ghetsis. Then there's Elliot, holding of as many grunts as she can.
And then there's Alexis. Zekrom on one side. Kai on the other, facing the fused Legendary. He.... doesn't look happy to be here. In fact it looks like a great discomfort to even be here. He looks terrible. Worse than the last time N saw him. His eyes are beyond tired, heavy eye bags under each eye. His clothes are in tears and his hat is no wear to be seen. Going back to his eyes, there tired, yes, but also seem....lost? It seems so glazed over, so.....lost? That's the best way N can put it.
Did....did Alexis really leave Unova to look for him?
Alexis doesn't move, his eyes only focused on the fused Kyurem. He doesn't look anywhere else. Not at Eva. Not N. Not Ghetsis. Not even a glance back to see his sister. He'll help where he can, and then he'll leave. Just... don't look at them. It'll just make the guilt feel worse.
Soon the battle is over. Sadly, Ghetsis got away, but given his sickly response....he won't be back.
Alexis ignores the nervous attempts of the stranger( Eva, she said her name was), returned Kai to her ball( also ignoring the look she's giving him) and tries to get on Zekroms back before-
"YOU ASSHOLE!" Elliot was already there before, her fists slamming into his face,in a rage. Bianca and Cheren then enter the cold cave. They looked worried, asking about Eva( ah, they already replaced him....fair), then confusion to why Elliot is yelling, to shock. Bianca had tears in her eyes. Cheren....it's hard to look at him( any of them really). But then he hears yelling and he already knows what he's in four. Great.
Elliot is, rightly, pissed. Does she miss her brother? Absolutely! Is she glad that he's alive? Of course! Is she pissed that he left without a word and didn't maintain contact at all, bascically leaving her and her family clueless? FUCK YES. She's beyond ready to give Alexis a fucking lecture of the century.
But then she looks at him.
The person in front of her looks broken. So terrible , terrible broken. She thinks she saw in flinch once, which was when she punched him. But after that, he just sat there. Eating in all the words that she let out. That's .....that's not right he- he's already broken. Her words will just make it worse. So she stops. Cheren picks up for her.
N watches this.... reunion, and can't help put feel out of place. Not that is wasn't anything new to him but....it hurts to see them like this. All angry and sad. He has lots of things to say to Alexis, but now doesn't seem like the right time. So he quietly tells a very shaken Eva to go to the league, all while escorting her out if the blasted cave. Only Bianca notices, and through her tears she gives them a small nod.
And it just leaves an angry but confused Elliot, a just angry( but also very worried) Cheren, a crying Bianca, and a tired, broken Alexis.
What a reunion.

7 Books in 7 Days
I Stumbled across a few YouTube videos about this “7 Books in 7 Days” challenge going on on the internet.
I got curious and after absolutely no research or further preparation, I decided to do that as well; I would have read seven books in a week.
Aaaaand here’s pretty much how it went.
DAY 1: The book I couldn’t find in English
Title: Storia di una balena bianca raccontata da lei stessa
Author: Luis Sepúlveda

Having started in the early evening, I had to pick a book that was short enough for me to finish on the same day. The choice fell on this tiny masterpiece by Sepúlveda, whose literature I wasn’t familiar with (boy, will that change during this reading challenge) aside from The Story of a Seagull and the Cat Who Taught Her to Fly, read years and years and year and years ago.
What I thought I was going forward was a nice, cute little novel.
I.
Was.
Wrong.
This actually kind of broke me.
Based on the story of Moby Dick - which in turn is based on the true story of the Essex, a whaler that left the island of Nantucket in 1819 only to be destroyed by the giant sperm whale the crew was after to acquire the oil to power lamps… Look, life sucked before we got electricity - this book is narrated by the giant white whale in the flesh. As you might have guessed by now, we’re not talking about the happiest story ever.
What starts as an observation from the young whale’s eyes of the resourcefulness and curiosity of mankind, quickly transforms into a condemnation of its cruelty and disrespect for nature.
Beautifully written, I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves angst and can speak Italian or Spanish (I couldn’t find an English version).
I really had a good time with it. And also a good cry. I’m fragile.

DAY 2: The book about a murder
Title: The body in the library
Author: Agatha Christie
Pages: 215

For the second day of this challenge, I’ve decided to throw myself into a novel featuring Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple.
In this crime novel, the body of a young woman is found in the library of Mr. and Mrs. Bantry’s house. The problem: nobody knows this girl or how she got in there. It’s going to be up to the police and, naturally, to Miss Marple, to find the truth.
I have discovered Agatha Christie only recently but it’s undeniable that she deserves all my love. It’s been fun to read this book and develop theories to find out who the murderer was and how and why they acted. It was like piecing a puzzle together. This is my first reading featuring Miss Marple, and I found her quite impressive. Unlike her “colleague”, Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple is not a detective, she’s just people smart, and it’s delightful to follow her around on her adventures.
Unfortunately the finale didn’t satisfy me that much, but it was still pretty good. Definitely recommended.

DAY 3: The long one
Title: The temptation to be happy
Author: Lorenzo Marone

Note: The more I think about this book, the more I feel like it doesn’t fully deserve its 3.5 rating. Consider it as an “almost 4”, please and thank you.
On the third day, I faced the longest book of the ones I had chosen. And, since life happened and I had other things to do around, I risked not finishing it on time (no worries, I managed).
The story is one of a cynical 77 years old widow: Cesare Annunziata. He doesn’t really care much about the people around him, except his daughter and son whom he loves even though of course he doesn’t know how to show it. Up until here, it’s honestly pretty standard and it has its cliches.
Everything changes when Cesare realizes that his new neighbor, Emma, is a victim of domestic abuse and lives in fear of her husband. The old man and the woman form an improbable friendship aaaaand I don’t want to get into spoiler territory, even tho the story is actually quite simple and sometimes predictable.
The best part about this, however, is not the story. The characters are what really brings the book to life, with a perfect balance of goofy and more serious personalities. It’s people we could meet every day, and that’s what really makes it good. Not full of plot twist, but it’s not meant to be.
Reading Lorenzo Marone was a pretty nice way to spend the day.

DAY 4: The other book about the murder
Title: A Caribbean mystery
Author: Agatha Christie
Pages: 230
Rate: 4/5 
Another day, another Agatha Christie’s novel. In this sunny and colorful environment, new murders have happened and new assassins have to be found.
Miss Marple, on holidays in the Caribbean, is having quite a good time, except not much is going on around here. Lucky for her - and honestly, only for her… I mean, good for you that you have a hobby but you should really not enjoy dead people so much - old Major Palgrave is found dead in his room. What looks like a natural death to most is actually a deeper mystery, and it’s up to Miss Marple to dig up the truth and save the day before the assassin strikes again.
Again, making up theories and analyzing the characters is a lot of fun, and I actually found out who the assassin was, which is pretty rare because I’m dumb at mysteries.
At the end of this book I started to feel a bit tired and I got a bit of a headache. I loved reading it, but with work I never really have the time for long, intensive sessions that go on for multiple days in a row.
Still, the pleasure of reading this book made everything more bearable.

 DAY 5: The big fail
Title: Loving sabotage
Author: Amélie Nothomb
Pages: 62 out of 124
Rate: 1/5
God, I hated this book. Pretentious, boring, just bad. It didn’t even seem like there was a plot or the author was talking about anything in particular, just words put down one after the other without any true purpose.
Really felt like a waste of time. It was awful to get though. So I didn’t. Which, given my holiday was over and I had to go back to work, gave me a bit of a time problem.

DAY 5: Sepúlveda strikes back
Title: Patagonia Express
Author: Luis Sepúlveda
Pages: 127
Rate: 5/5
To save the day at the last minute, came Luis Sepúlveda with this short account of his travels in Patagonia.
Starting in Spain and exploring the very edge of the world, this collection is filled with wild characters and hilarious episodes that made me enjoy every single page. 
That is, after getting past that one chapter about lamb castration.
That was a weird one.
I’ve never liked this particular literary genre much, but Luis Sepúlveda gives an incredible description of the places he visited, the people he met and their own stories, which are particularly bizarre and told with incredible talent. It’s a pretty short book, so I don’t want to spoil anything, but you get the drill.
Possibly my favorite book out of this challenge, Patagonia Express is a delightful quick escape from the ordinary.

 DAY 6: Guess who’s back
Title: The old man who read love stories
Author: Luis Sepúlveda
Pages: 135
Rate: 3/5
So, Sepúlveda wasn’t originally supposed to stick around for so long, but here we go again.
As for The old man who read love stories, it’s possibly the book I liked the least from Sepúlveda. Which isn’t saying much, I still like his work a lot.
The story is one of old Antonio José Bolívar Proaño, and guess what: he likes to read love stories. 
That makes two of us, buddy.
He’s also an expert of the forest nearby the small town of El Idilio, and forced to hunt down a female of ocelot, along with a group of men from the town.
Through some flashbacks we also find out the story of his life and how he became to know the forest so well. That’s my favorite part of the novel, by the way.
While the book started well, it felt like it got lost somewhere around the second half, which was supposed to be the important, life-lessons-packed part. You know, the part you don’t want to get lost at.
By the last pages I was almost falling asleep, and thinking back a couple of days later I don’t really remember much of the story as a whole.
In total honesty, a lot of it might have been because it was the sixth book in as many days, and my three brain cells had been up to a lot more than they can usually stand. Plus, long work hours got in the way.

DAY 7: Because it’s Christmas
Title: Hercule Poirot’s Christmas
Author: Agatha Christie
Pages: 209
Rate: 3.5/5
A millionaire asshole. His children and their wives. A nephew and a family friend. A murder on Christmas night.
It would have been offensive to read so much Agatha Christie without any Hercule Poirot, and so here comes my dear detective, ready for the grand finale.
Also, it’s Christmas!! Christmas book!! Christmas spirit!! Quite literally I mean someone got killed -
Hercule Poirot’s Christmas is an interesting novel, full of well done characters and mystery. I had a good time reading it, as I always do with this kind of novels.
But I do have to say - it’s probably just me and other readers liked it fine - the finale really ruined it for me. It feels pulled out of nowhere at the last minute, and even though it was certainly a big surprise, it felt added like a second thought just to make an even bigger plot twist than what could have been.
Aside from that, it’s a good book and given the settings I dare say it’s the perfect reading for when it’s cold outside, maybe snowing, and you’re cuddling under a blanket with a nice warm cup of tea.
Or hot chocolate.
Pick your favorite, I won’t judge.

Conclusions:
So finally we’re at the end of this 7 Books in 7 days Challenge. It was very enjoyable, but also towards the end it got pretty draining and sometimes stressful to keep up with the reading schedule while squeezing into the day everything else life throws at you.
Doing that on a week of holidays instead three days, when I could have focused only on the books, it would have probably gone differently, maybe even attempting to tackle longer novels. But you know, we’re talking about reading 1139 pages in a week, which is not something I thought I was capable of doing.
So overall I’m proud of how I did.
Not sure if I’ll repeat this but I’m glad I’ve done it, at least this once, and I honestly recommend it.
Also I don’t want to read anything else until 2022.

Nureyev had always loved the stars. They’d been an escape to a small, scared boy with no home, no safety, no guaranteed next meal, nothing but a name. No matter where he had wound up sleeping, however empty his stomach was, how close the last laser shot had sounded, as long as he could see the stars he could imagine something better. A thousand other plants, most of which had never had a single human step on their surface, so far away he could blot them out with a thumb. Surely with all of those chances, all of that possibility, there just had to be something better than this. And as long as Peter knew that, he could keep going.
He’d always loved the stars, he’d needed them as much as he needed food and oxygen, he’d needed the escape and possibility. But he’d never thought they were beautiful until he saw them through his daughter’s eyes.
Nureyev tried to give Bianca routine where he could. So much of their life was completely uncertain, though not in the same way it had been when he was a child. Nureyev was endlessly grateful for that and there was no amount he wasn’t willing to part with to keep it that way. Their uncertainty was more about what planet they would end up on, what hotel they would stay in, what names he would give for them at the front desk. It was about the endlessly rotating faces around them, people slipping into roles rather than actual personalities, everything always shifting and changing. It would be so easy to lose yourself in all of that, feeling like you were becoming as ephemeral and insubstantial as everything else. Nureyev knew that well.
So he tried to anchor them whenever he could. And this was one of the ways he did that, one of Bianca’s favourite things.
The shuttles that ferried people around the solar system were microcosms of the planets they served. One floor of almost sickening luxury built to hold the scant few people who could afford it and the rest of the pot bellied space vessels given over to much grimmer quarters for everyone else. Nureyev had treated himself to a seat on the upper floor a few times, always after he was feeling smug about a particularly high profile job. But, in truth, he preferred sitting in the lower decks. The view was better there. No over attentive staff, no distracting screens on every surface vying for your attention, no live entertainment on the longer flights. No assuming that the majesty of space itself, the stars winking in the darkness, the faraway galaxies smudged against the sky, wouldn’t be enough to hold your attention. You could sit down there, feel like no one and stare out at space that held it all together.
Nureyev always got a window seat and sat his daughter on his knee, ignoring the adjoining seat he had to purchase for her. Bianca would usually sleep through the noisy takeoff, making her daddy marvel at her ability to snore through the racket of interstellar engines blasting burning fuel just a few meters away but wake up immediately in a soft, comfortable bed if he so much as shifted while holding her.
But as soon as they were surrounded by space and that eerie silence descended, Nureyev would gently nudge her awake, knowing she wouldn’t want to miss a second of it. No matter how many times she’d seen it before, whether it was their tenth or fiftieth or thousandth journey, it never seemed to dim the awe and delight on Bianca’s little face as she would stand, wobbly and uncertain on her little legs, in her daddy’s lap and press her face to the reinforced glass, making her indistinct babyish noises of excitement. As she got older, they began to coalesce into words, mostly just repeating ‘stars’ and ‘bootiful’ to herself in a whisper, clutching Nureyev’s sleeve tightly like she was worried he couldn’t see them and needed to be shown.
And then she would grasp at them, her fingers brushing against the window, like she was trying to pluck them from the vast expanse that couldn’t really be called a sky if you had no ground to stand on. Like she could open her adorably chubby little hand and see one twinkling there, as small as it appeared from their vantage point, and hold it out to her daddy, a gift of one of the shiny things she knew he liked so much.
Her little face would crinkle in disappointment after a few failed attempts, though it wouldn’t stop her trying again next time. Nureyev would smile and touch her cheek lightly and remind her that he didn’t need stars. He had his most precious treasure, better than anything else the universe could produce.
It didn’t matter how many times he had to remind her. He would mean it wholeheartedly, every single time.
Then he would help her find a more comfortable position and tell her the stories, ancient and crumbling thousands of years before now but still living on. He would tell her about Andromeda and Cassiopeia, Delphinus and Orpheus’ lyre and the mistakes of Orion. Too young to understand nine words in ten, she would still listen attentively and fix her eyes on the stars, in love with the worlds her daddy painted with them. Whether the journey was an hour or ten or a day, Bianca would listen and sleep and listen again, almost eerily quiet and well behaved. A child who had learned very early on that when her daddy asked her to be still, she had better listen or alarms might start going off.
Nureyev would always have a destination in mind for them, it would never do to step off a shuttle and not immediately know your next move. If he’d thought himself careful before he had Bianca, then afterwards he was nothing short of fanatically meticulous. Maps of whatever city they arrived in, shortest routes in and out of major buildings, dedicated assessments of how lax the police force were in certain districts, he kept all of it behind his eyes as he’d walk through the streets with his head held high and Bianca in her sling, sleeping or peering out silently but curiously against his chest.
Never the same hotel twice, even if it was a planet he’d been on before, there was no sense in taking silly risks. There never had been but there was even less now. Fake creds, fake names, fake ID, basic stuff he’d learned so long ago and had hammered into him so many times that it was part of his DNA, like the instincts that told him to pull in air and to walk upright.
Bianca would always seem hesitant at first, though she’d never cry. The unfamiliar smells and too bright, too packaged newness of their suite would bring out nothing more than hunched shoulders and maybe a soft whimper, if it was especially late or their last escape had been particularly harrowing, though those were becoming very few and far between to Nureyev’s relief. Still, it would make his chest ache.
Fortunately they had another little ritual. Nureyev would sweep the blankets and pillows off of the bed, merrily ruining their crisp whiteness and dumping them onto the floor. As it happened, the skills he so prized as a thief- clever hands, adaptability, dogged determination- were also incredibly useful when it came to constructing a blanket fort, no matter the shape of the room, the amount of materials they’d been left with or how exhausted he was.
It didn’t need to be big, just perfectly sized for him and Bianca, the top of his head usually scraping the roof of it.  No matter the colour of the light that filtered through the sheets or the noise from the city outside, no matter what dirt of what planet sat beneath them, as long as they were in their little den, curled up close like a fox and his cub in a cosy bolt hole, they felt like they were home. Bianca would open up like a flower, lying on her back and cooing happily, kicking her little legs and mauling her poor cloth cat, carefree in a way she only ever was when she was truly safe.
And she would look up at Nureyev like he hung the moon. Like he’d made the stars she loved so much.
And Nureyev would know he’d found that something better he’d dreamed of as a child.
He hadn’t thought it would still hurt so much. He’d been pretending for so long, longer even that he’d known where they were going and who they were going to collect, even longer than he’d been practising his smile in the mirror and dredging up memories he’d wanted to bury, deliberately plucking them up out of their boxes in his most vulnerable moments as training exercises.
There had been more than Nureyev had thought. His face as he’d commanded, demanded, that a towering, insane Martian anthropologist let go of Nureyev with undeniable fire in his eyes. His furrowed brow when he was just a few clicks away from solving a case, that moment of held breath before he made everything make sense. How he’d looked in the hospital with the bandage over the fresh ruin of one eye, how he’d looked so scared and so young, wracked with nightmares and clinging to Nureyev’s hand. How he’d looked in the shadowy light of his apartment, leaning in eagerly for a kiss before Nureyev had even told him to come here.
How he had looked at Nureyev’s daughter when he’d woken up and she hadn’t been there, eye wild and dangerous and full of the same fire as before, even with one where there had once been two. A face Nureyev himself had worn so many times. A father’s face.
Nureyev had let these memories loose where he’d once held them so carefully. And he’d beaten each one, forced it to be small enough to carry. He’d let them tear at him until he was a wash of internal wounds and forced them to heal. He’d said his name over and over, hearing the sound of it until it became just another word.
So why had it still hurt so much?
“Hello Juno. It’s been a while.”
It had come out as smoothly as he’d wanted it to, unconcerned and light as if the two of them had simply bumped into each other at a coffee shop with nothing in their past thornier than perhaps an awkward conversation at a birthday party. All of it perfectly orchestrated, right down to the way Nureyev perched on the Ruby 7 like a cat, to the way his lips fell open just so, making his smile a perfect mix of predatory and indifferent. I could pluck you from the sky and snap your neck in an instant, little bird, but why would I bother?
But inside it had felt like drowning.
Because he was there, he was standing right there with his ridiculous expression like he didn’t understand anything going on around him in that ratty, out of style overcoat that Nureyev wanted to burn and partly wanted to pull around him just to feel how warm it would be. Still with the eyepatch, clearly totally unconcerned with matching it to his outfit, with a tiny duffle bag over one shoulder that apparently contained all the trash from that sad little apartment he’d thought worth taking into space.
Juno Steel was standing in front of him, close enough to touch within a few strides, and Nureyev wanted to run.
But he couldn’t. He needed this job, he needed to be part of this crew. So he’d had to smile his practised smile, eye him like nothing mattered and never show that it burned like bad whiskey.
At least Nureyev had been able to make a quick exit after that, pointedly excusing himself from the hand shaking and the secretary’s loud introductions. He’d done as Captain Aurinko had asked and his own pride had demanded and he’d come off the worse. He didn’t need to do any more. And there was somewhere else he needed to be.
His bunk was as far from the others as the layout of the Carte Blanche would allow, for good reason. Bianca hadn’t taken well to settling in one place for so long, especially somewhere that creaked and groaned with decompression like some irritated beast, where there were other people she didn’t know, where things were just different. Where she could tell something was bothering her daddy that he wouldn’t share and wasn’t fixing. Neither of them had been getting much sleep lately.
Fortunately, when he pushed back the door, his daughter was still napping, curled up in their blanket, her fists pressed up against her face. Now a year and a half old, she’d become such a person. He knew that was a silly thing to think, she’d always been a person. But she’d solidified somehow in the year and change since he’d first held her and hadn’t the faintest idea what to do with her. Her arms and legs were now arms and legs rather than chubby things she could only fling about gracelessly. Her shapeless dark fluff had turned into curls that flowed and bounced. Her face still had babyish roundness but she had more expressions now, her eyes had an awareness when they weren’t closed in sleep. She had more control, more personhood than she’d seemed to before. She could wobble a few hesitant steps, she could babble the half word dada over and over and break his heart.
She was growing, more and more every day. It made Nureyev thankful for moments like this, when he could just sit by her and watch her be still, on momentary pause, like maybe he could keep her this small forever. Like she would never outgrow his arms.
Nureyev sighed and told himself he was being maudlin, leaning back against the wall. But he was finding it hard to muster up any other emotion, knowing Juno Steel had weaseled his way aboard their fresh start and was rattling around in this tin can with the rest of them.
He would have argued, offered to find any other one eyed former detective, even if he had to put out the other eye himself. He would have walked and found some other ship full of colourful misfits to take him and Bianca around the galaxy.
But his options were limited and his time was running out. And how many other thieving crews would make a man with no name and a toddler welcome? Buddy had been more understanding than Nureyev had dared hope when he’d admitted that it wouldn’t just be him joining the crew of the Carte Blanche. Maybe it was her strange ideas about them being more family than crew, perhaps she thought a baby would cement that or at least be a nice ornament to her tableau.
Nureyev didn’t care. He’d found somewhere Bianca could be safe long term, somewhere he could be sure she’d still be if he had to leave for a few hours on a job. Not painlessly, of course, but dependably. And that was the best he thought he’d get.
Juno arriving took all of that, screwed it into a ball and threw it with bad aim at a wastepaper basket. And now all the boxes Nureyev kept for things he couldn’t deal with felt about to split and even looking at his daughter, soft and sweet and sleeping, made his chest feel tight in a way he couldn’t stand. Looking at her, all he could see was the eyes that were a brown so much darker than his own, practically black, and the curls that didn’t come from his fine, silky hair. The darker skin and the broad nose and the scowl she could bring out sometimes that gave him a double take. All he could see were the parts he hadn’t given her, the proof that she hadn’t come from nowhere. The parts that made it complicated.
Nureyev reached over and pushed back a delicate curl of hair that had fallen over her face, leaving his fingers there a few seconds longer than was necessary. Bianca shifted gently and calmed, her face relaxing a shade more than it had been before, as if the brush of his fingertips had been enough to soothe her and chase away bad dreams.
His love for her struck him fiercely, as it always did, like low, constant embers flaring up into a roaring blaze.
Her DNA didn’t matter. It never had. Juno’s contribution had been all of a second, a throwaway moment neither of them had noticed. Her eyes, her hair, it wasn’t Juno’s. It was hers.
She didn’t need him and neither did Nureyev. They had never needed anything but each other.
Seized by some kind of mad energy, the need to do something and be good at it, Nureyev got up, using all his cat burglar instincts to not rock the bed in the slightest and wake up Bianca. Maybe he would mend the dress she tore last week or try and salvage the blanket he’d been attempting on and off to knit for her since she was born. Something that would push Juno Steel entirely from his mind.
Until he opened the door and came face to face with him.
Juno immediately looked as guilty as any criminal he’d ever caught, hand frozen halfway to knocking, jaw opening but no words coming out.
Nureyev, too caught off guard to manage his emotions, scowled, “Who told you this was my room?”
Juno’s eye darted from left to right, “Buddy? She gave us a tour…”
“Well, I don’t know why she’d think that was relevant,” he tried to keep his face impassive while internally running around frantically for something to hold on to.
“Well...her exact words were ‘if you’re wondering the sound of the baby crying is coming from, it’s Ransom’s room third from the left’...is that what you’re calling yourself? Ransom?”
Nureyev could have throttled him, “Would you like to announce that a little louder, Juno Steel?”
Immediately he flushed, biting down on his lip like that could have stopped the words from coming out, “Um...sorry, yeah...I didn’t...sorry.”
“Did you come to my door just to loudly announce my trade secrets? Or is there another reason?” Nureyev dropped his voice to the appropriate level, low and quiet so as not to reverberate down metal hallways. And not to wake sleeping children.
The detective- former detective- was truly flustered now, as Nureyev liked him. Seeing him from the top of the gangplank had been disconcerting, seeing Juno Steel back in his life. But now he was up close, stammering and blushing in his doorway, it threw Nureyev for a whole different reason. Not because it was the same Juno Steel he’d known.
Because he was so different.
He stood straighter than he had before, though not in a way someone would square up for a fight. His eye was clearer, like there weren’t so many shadows behind it. There were more lines on his face but he wasn’t settled into them as a default, they sat there rather as a map rather than a guide, not as inevitable. He looked older, which wasn’t surprising as it had been a year since they’d laid eyes on each other. But it was...different. The difference that didn’t come with time but with experience.
Juno Steel had grown, it was written all over his face. And Nureyev didn’t know what to do with that at all. The nerve of it.
“I wanted to talk to you, Nureyev,” Juno swallows, like he was mentally starting over, “Because...well, I thought it was obvious?”
“You thought incorrectly,” Nureyev said, biting the end off each word, “I see nothing we need to discuss.”
Juno looked dismayed at that, “Really? We’re just going to pretend none of it happened? Look, you’ve got every right to be upset with me…”
I don’t, Nureyev thought, chest clenching at the words. Because if you’ve changed, you’re no longer the lady who broke my heart, you’re someone new, someone who has his demons under control and there’s every chance you’ll find your way back in.
“...but I’ve done a lot of thinking and a lot of reflecting and...and there’s a lot of damage I’ve done that I want to start fixing. I was an asshole, Nureyev. I mean, I still kind of am but I’m trying. And...and I need to start with you. And her.”
No. Don’t you dare, Juno Steel.
Nureyev stepped forward, giving Juno barely a second to jump back out of his way. He was about to close the door, like he could close off Juno’s words as easily but that was when they both froze, instincts firing at the soft sleepy babble.
Binaca was sat up, the blanket rucked up around her waist, hands pawing at it like a content kitten. Her hair was a bird's nest, her eyes still heavy with sleep and confusion, mumbling indistinctly for her dada.
Nureyev heard a soft inhalation from Juno, eyes flickering over to see his scarred face lined with grief of all things. Grief for the countless moments in between now and then, perhaps, the ones he’d missed. That he’d turned his back on.
Bianca seemed to wake up more, her eyes widening and her little mouth opening. Her arms came up and stretched out, fingers grasping like they grasped at the stars. But not for Nureyev.
For Juno.
Nureyev shoved the sadness aside as hard as he could, not caring if it went in a box or not, just needing it out of his way, dredging up anger to replace it. He shut the door as he’d been planning, bringing it too with a dull slam.
“Listen,” he rounded on Juno, who was still standing there in some kind of shock, hurt clear on his face, “I am not interested in anything you have to say. I think two times is more than enough for someone to hurt you before you say no more. We will live on the same ship, we will work as the same crew but that is the absolute extent of my involvement with you. Is that clear?”
Juno looked ready to argue, some of the lady Nureyev had known resurfacing on his face. Good, he thought, show me this isn’t real. Show me it’s an act. Then I can go back to being angry with you and it can all make sense again. I’ll feel safe.
But then it faded and the resigned grief was back. And Nureyev felt something inside him, buried deep, crack with the knowledge he’d caused it.
“Fine,” Juno sighed heavily, “You’re not ready, I can understand that.”
“Not ready implies that this conversation will be happening in the future,” Nureyev’s voice was acidic, “Am I not being direct enough with you? I have no interest in your justifications for your behaviour. By all means, repeat them to yourself over and over as many times as you wish, however long it takes to be comfortable with your choices again. But do not bother yourself to repeat them to me, I have no need. It would imply that I care.”
Juno winced, as Nureyev had wanted him to right up until the second after he did it. He looked so wounded, like his words had punched a pinhole right through him. Nureyev refused to feel the pinch of regret at the back of his mind.
“Welcome to the Carte Blanche, Juno Steel,” he said coldly, going back into his room and slamming the door again. It wasn’t gentlemanly but there was little else to be done.
Bianca’s arms dropped sadly to her sides, eyes full of dismay. Her bottom lip began to do that wobbling dance that signified tears in the very near future.
“Darling,” Nureyev groaned, folding his arms around her, bringing her close to his chest, “Please, no. Everything’s okay…”
Bianca disagreed, mumbling unhappily against him, repeating ‘dada’ over and over like she was looking for answers. The front of his shirt began to grow damp with tears he’d caused.
Nureyev sighed shakily, trying to martial his thoughts and control his emotions, trying to feel more like himself. He buried his face in his daughter’s hair, inhaling her powdery baby scent, reminding himself that Bianca Nureyev existed and as long as that was true, he couldn’t fall apart.
After a while, he felt strong enough to sit back, like his spine and lungs would hold him up again. A moment later Bianca’s hands reached up to his face, patting his cheeks softly, cooing gently. Nureyev smiled, somehow, and kissed her searching little fingers. It was nice, he had to admit, to have someone there after he slipped away from himself.
The Carte Blanche hadn’t lifted off yet, still sitting on what passed for a dock in the Cerberus Province. But the stars were visible, unfiltered, without the fading, swimming effect of any dome and Nureyev could see them through the little circular porthole window on the far wall. As deadly as the stars were, uncovered like that, it was beautiful.
He felt the small boy that still curled up in the darker parts of his mind, one of his older boxes, stir. He felt him ache, looking at those stars with a desperate, fierce kind of hope that they held something better that could be his if he could only reach far enough. Nureyev shut him out too, after a moment. He didn’t need that any more. He would just keep moving forwards.
And he wouldn’t be alone this time.

Can you pretty please tell me anything and everything about all (or at least a couple, in case you have a lot haha) of your Marvel OCs please? I’m always a sucker for Marvel OCs lmao
so as of now I have 90 marvel ocs, oof!  They’re all hanging out here if you want to check them all out, and I’ll update my mobile masterlist once the thought doesn’t make me cry lmao!  Also I totally didn’t mean to ignore that ask about Kat, I started answering it and saved it as a draft and then it got buried but I will get back to it ASAP!!!!!!  For now though I’ll just yell a bit about a few of my most developed OCs!
Kat Aliano (Inferno): Kat is my first real fandom oc!  I made her back in 2011 and I would die for her.  Basically she’s a child genius who’s been living alone since her parents died in the Chitauri attack and she got caught while attempting to hack Tony’s private database for more information.  Fury is still trying to get the team to act like a team and he thinks that giving them a common goal (raising a child) will help, so he forces Tony to adopt her.  The avengers all grow attached fairly quickly, but none moreso than Tony, who sees her as a daughter (and she sees him as a dad).  She lives with Tony for the most part, and gets taken by Killian in Iron Man 3, which is when she gets her powers.  I have her story planned out all the way through endgame (in fact I’ve already written part of the Endgame battle for her already) but I don’t know how many spoilers you want so I’ll leave it at this for now!  If you want to read her fic, the first chapter is published!  
Nikki Rogers (Lady Liberty): Nikki was my second real fandom oc and is barely a week younger.  Way back in the day she was a daughter of Steve Rogers and Aphrodite and a pjo crossover.  Now she’s still Steve’s daughter but she doesn’t know who her mother is dun dun dunnnn. Nikki is my sunshine angel baby darling and is honestly just the sweetest person in the multiverse.  Nikki is the hero who doesn’t want anyone else to suffer the way she has so she goes out of her way to be as sweet and loving and good as she can be.  She learns some information about herself in Winter Soldier that sends her on a bit of a spiral but instead of having a villain arc it just pushes her to become her own hero, and thus she becomes Lady Liberty. She goes to Midtown High and her love interest is Peter, she’s a cheerleader and on the Academic Decathlon team, and has a complicated relationship with MJ for a long time.  She fights in Civil War but Tony helps her escape when the Rogues are arrested because her identity is still secret and even while fighting, the Avengers all want to protect her.  She was raised by Peggy Carter (not her mother, though a few people have asked me that in the past!) but when Peggy’s alzheimer’s got too bad she was moved to SHIELD custody and moved between Natasha, Clint, Maria, and Coulson depending on who was on a mission.  If you want to read her fic, the first chapter is published 
Adelaide Stark: Adi is Tony’s daughter!  She was born only a few days after Howard and Maria died, and then her mother died in labour, so Tony ended up with a lot of grief and a lot of responsibility.  He was absolutely determined to be a better father than Howard and always put Adi above everything.  Adi grew up as a total daddy’s girl and just as much of a genius as her dad (although she didn’t skip any grades, mostly because Tony didn’t want her under the same pressure that he was always under), and has been designing for Stark Industries since middle school.  She was in her senior year of high school when Tony disappeared, and was all set to go to MIT and continue designing weapons.  But when Tony gets back and she finds out that it was one of her designs that nearly killed him, she pulled back completely.  She was the biggest supporter of ending the weapons manufacturing, and now only ever designs for Iron Man (and eventually other Avengers) gear.  Instead of MIT she took over the SI philanthropy work and started up a new charity for mental health support, with focus on veterans and PTSD.  After a few years she branched off and started her own foundation, separate from SI, which had more or less the same purpose.  She first meets Sam Wilson when she’s in DC lobbying for better support for veterans, in between IM3 and CAWS.
Bianca Davis (Lady Justice): Bianca Davis is Rebecca Barnes’ granddaughter!  She grew up knowing the Commandos (and Tony, because Peggy was his godmother I’ll take that hc to the grave) hearing stories about Steve, Bucky, and World War Two, which is what led her to eventually major in history and to become the youngest museum curator in the world (this wasn’t intentional lmao but a fact that I learned later.  She isn’t really a curator, though it is her official job title, but she runs the Captain America/Howling Commandos exhibit at the Air And Space Museum, which she’s been doing since she finished university - the letters of recommendation from Peggy and the surviving Commandos definitely helped lmao.  She’s noticed Steve at the exhibit several times but has always respected his space, but one day he makes a dry comment about an obnoxious tourist that she had to deal with and they begin speaking – she calls him a fossil and he falls a little bit in love.  They’ve become close by the beginning of CAWS and when he first goes on the run, she’s who he and Nat go to when they need disguises for the mall, and she ends up on the run with them once they realize that Hydra knows she exists.  
Alessia Stark (Lady Shield): Alessia is Tony’s twin sister.  Howard experimented on her when she was a teenager, in hit attempt to recreate the super soldier, and it worked.  It left her with the same abilities as Steve and it drastically slowed down her aging.  She never had any interest in being a superhero, even though Fury has tried to recruit her several times, but when Tony becomes Iron Man she finally decides that she’s going to protect him no matter what, and thus becomes Lady Shield.  She makes it very clear in the Avengers that she isn’t there to be part of Fury’s boyband, she’s only there to keep Tony alive since she knows that SHIELD doesn’t actually care about him – she throws “iron man yes tony stark not recommended” in Natasha’s face several times.  She becomes a bit of a balancing act between Tony and Steve while trying to hold them together.  She also gets blasted by Loki’s scepter in Berlin which leads to some... changes (big spoilers so I won’t share if you don’t want to know yet!). Her ship is Steve but she fights with Tony in Civil War (“you both have solid points and if Ross wasn’t the biggest piece of shit on the face of the earth I’d suggest we all sit down and come up with our own amendments, but I won’t let anyone hurt my brother.”)

I have 118 fics on AO3.
Now, some of those are longer than others, and I’m largely a oneshot writer, but that’s a lot of fics. I was curious what the breakdown of that number was year to year, since in 2016 I basically stopped writing and posting art, and I thought I’d share that answer with you guys. (As a bonus, I’ll share my favourite fic from each year just for funsies. Even some old old old ones.)
This got long, so actual stats/faves under the cut.
2012: 12 fics! (An interesting factor here is that I joined the archive in July, so this is 12 in about five months rather than over a whole year.)
Fave fic: “I’m the Doctor - basically, RUN!”  obviously a Doctor Who fic, it’s a companion character study. Before my fic naming skills really developed. 
2013: 46 fics. Peak Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus time, but this was also the year of the 130 Night Vale ficlet August.
Fave fic: Because I Knew You, the Percy Jackson/Heroes Wicked AU. Featuring Percy as Glinda, Nico as Elphaba, Annabeth and Jason as Fiyero, Hazel as Nessa, and Leo as Boq.
2014: 20 fics. 18 of which were PJO/HOO.
Fave Fic: Lucky 13, PJO/HOO - a Nico-Bianca age swap fic
2015: 18 fics. The year of Gravity Falls!
Two faves this year, of about equal ranking:
Falling Hard and the Twin Trade AU that spun off from it, Gravity Falls AU wherein Mabel got sucked into a parallel universe at the end of Not What He Seems
 The Stuff of Legend, one of the only Phineas and Ferb fics I’ve ever written but one of my favourite fics I’ve ever written by far. Post-Act Your Age, the gang’s first year of college.
2016: 2 fics. I wasn’t kidding when I said I pretty much stopped writing.
Fave fic: Supersonic, a post Trials of Apollo 1 revamp of a PJO fic from 2014. (The other fic this year paired with this one.)
2017: 8 fics, enter Star vs the Forces of Evil and Ducktales.
Fave fic: break my fall, SVtFoE - a Star character study written after the season 2 finale. My 100th fic on AO3!
2018: 3 fics. An odd mixed bag of fics, too.
Fave fic: Finding Marlin, 3700 words of complete self-indulgence. The only fic I’ve ever written for Finding Nemo, has probably no audience outside of myself, and I’m okay with that. It’s a human AU, because they’re fish.
2019: 9 fics, with two months to go! I think I’m getting back in my groove a bit!

come stop your crying, a revisit to an old PJO/HOO concept after I reread my favourite Heroes book. At 5600 words it’s the longest thing I’ve written in a while.
until I’m home again, obviously one of my most recent Ducktales fics. Just a sweet little story about Donald and his kids.
So that’s the breakdown! I don’t know what 2013 me was doing to write 46 fics but I really wish I could recapture it. That said I’ve been writing a lot more lately so hopefully, maybe I’m getting some of that momentum back.
One of the cool things about going back through and pulling out old faves was that I actually still like a lot of my older fics. Not all of them, but a lot. And even the ones I don’t like, I know I’ve grown a lot from writing.
