No, not at all. He doesn't have the time to clean everything or keep them in such an organized state. He simply knows everything is in place, and the mess scarcely holds him back (he hires maids once in a while, when the mess gets too much, and in 1 out of 5 maids he hires only makes it out alive).

Yet, what truly imbued this room with a sense of sanctity? For within these walls, he unearthed his genuine solace and tranquility.

In this space, silence reigned supreme. Isolation was his companion, a cherished serenity he embraced. Here, his thoughts danced, inventions took form, and ideas flowed onto paper alongside intricate equations. Occasionally, he'd pass out on his desk and drool all over his papers. This room stood as a shelter inviolable, reserved solely for those few instances of urgency or the presence of a fellow Harbinger.

All other members of the Fatui instinctively bid their time, patiently awaiting his emergence from the sanctum of his office before venturing to approach him. For within its confines, the Doctor was impervious to disruption. No one disturbs the Doctor.

A steadying hand rested on the desk, enabling him to regain his composure, after which he settled your giggling form comfortably within the space between his legs. Can I ask what makes Arlecchino evil? I'm v much a villain enjoyer and like some morally greyness, but I genuinely didn't pick up on a lot of bad stuff with Arlecchino. She was super helpful during Fontaine and seemed to be the only powerful person who cared about helping the common folk when the water levels were rising.

I'm not here to start an argument, just wanna expand my view 🙏

dw didnt think u want to argue! i will also use this to say i wont tolerate arguments, this goes for everyone here

i will talk about sensitive themes under the cut (mentions of when i was groomed/emotionally abused by my adoptive father/mentions of abuse/grooming in general) so if someones not good with this, be warned please and dont click for your emotional comfort.

i really love arlecchino (theres also difficult, personal reasons ig) and id rather wait for her to arrive to get more information than we have so far through other characters/side quests/main quest but well.

her goals aligned with ours in the fontaine quest which is why we have the impression shes a good/nice person, especially considering our other meetings with the harbingers we met so far (signora, childe, scara, dottore) and the situations. shes very calm and diplomatic (lets see how it changes in the next update when we fight her)

but we shouldnt forget how the travellers on their toes the entire time/everytime they come in contact with arle. its because shes a harbinger after all. shes a danger. her graceful politeness and calmness is supposed to have you on guard, make your hairs rise. shes mentioned to be manipulative and shes manipulating others to achieve what she wants by being nice and calm. she has ulterior motives. we should be careful. this is my impression based on my own gaming experience and idk if it was the same w others, but bc of us being on guard around her i was always prepared for her to turn on us until the end of the main quest.

anw, arle is supposed to be intimidating and have you wary. even tho she comes off as nice and polite, having done good and helped in the main story. its bc thats what she wanted and you happened to have the same goal. also lets not forget scaras and childes thoughts about her which already tells a lot

she has two sides. the one we saw in the quest, the graceful, calm, polite face to get what she wants. and the other, the one scara and childe talk about here, the one they call "crazy"

not to mention her codename, "the knave". what does it mean? servant. what else does it mean? "dishonest/deceitful man". basically, swindler. isnt it perfect?

shes manipulative and whatever her "true" nature is, we dont know (yet). she may have "good intentions" here or there but will achieve them no matter what it takes.

as for the thing you can consider as bad; the house of the hearth is an orphanage that raises children into fatui agents. only those who have potential join the ranks while the others are kept close (its not known whats done with them afaik). theyre basically grooming/raising child soldiers/spies.

before the sensitive stuff comes up, for the ppl who dont want to proceed, arlecchino fools/manipulates you into thinking shes a nice person/good parent. its amazing and so in character for her. its also scary how some ppl cant see the abuse/manipulation unless you went through this too or well. just actually read and realize it.

arlecchino is an emotionally manipulative parental figure. now, this is coming from someone who went through heavy abuse/was groomed by their adoptive father who was extremely manipulative and i spot so many things very well known to me. others who went through the same get this feeling. these signs you immediately recognize.

you get punished for the tiniest mistakes and when you get loved, it makes you forget all that was done to you, just for that tiny bit of affection you crave. you try to do your best, to do everything asked and expected of you, not to disappoint the only parent you have and youre dependent on, to be a good kid deserving of love and when you slip up youre in shambles. there was a time i did a tiny mistake by accident and my father said to me in the coldest voice "you broke my trust" and i remember so vividly how it broke me, how i cried until i got sick. i was physically abused before and none of it hurt me more than this. it still gets to me after all those years. emotional manipulation is cruel

what im trying to say is, she came in a time of need. taken as a savior while it just is one abuser swapped out with another. like my adoptive father having me dependent, giving me love i never received and being everything i wanted, making me believe hes everything i need, a common thing abusers do. wanting to do everything youre asked of and do it good, the fear of disappointing and being punished, believing you deserved it bc its your fault and treating your abuser like a savior, being conditioned. this is whats happening.

now, arle genuinely loves and protects her children; its very clear that the life of the children matter to her the most (look at childes line and freminet/lynette etc) - she was one of them too after all. so, its possible to love and still do these. moral greyness etcetc

anyway idk if its understandable or if i can explain it in proper words while maintaining a good distance so ill add the voicelines of the siblings heavily implying this, and also a tweet adressing this that brings it to proper words, better than i can say

Fatui Harbingers modern found family au, but it’s actually just them at Disneyland

The Tsaritsa and Pierro and Capitano like run an orphanage or something idk

The Tsaritsa

- plans like weeks in advance

- “ok go have fun but meet me back at this time”

- buys Ajax a bunch of souvenirs and takes a lot of pictures

- “this is his first time at Disney, ok? I want him to have fond memories of it”

Pierro

- dragged into the schemes

- tries to spy on what the teenagers are up to but loses them

- has to sit with Signora while Scara goes on the roller coaster for the fifth time in a row (she got motion sick)

- stuck carrying everything

Capitano:

- wears the Mickey ears and a Disney t shirt (unlike Pierro)

- walks around with a beer and hot dog (while wearing bright pink mouse ears and flip flops)

- it’s like December

Pulcinella

- since Pierro is watching Signora and Scara, and Capitano is trying to help by going on rides, Pulcinella decides to stick with the Tsaritsa

- spoils the absolute shit outta Childe

- takes him on all the rides he can (since they’re both to short of some of them)

- the Tsaritsa leaves for a little bit to bail the boys out of trouble, and Pulcinella takes Childe to get his face painted and eat food

- he’s like 5

- no clue what’s happening, but he’s having a lot of fun

- completely decked out in Disney merch and has like 2 souvenir cups and a balloon

- very shy, very quiet, very much wants to go on the big roller coaster

- he is too short

- they go to a kiddy roller coaster

- he gets nervous and starts crying so they leave. And then he cries bc he missed out on the roller coaster

- they eventually do go on it and he has a lot of fun tho

I mean like - fairytale AUs. ALL the fairytale AUs - og, disney, reworked, e v e r y t h i n g

So far i got:

Cinderella/Fae AU (totally not in the process of writing that one, nope, not me) - just. Venti in a pretty dress, yes pls (also lots of probably not-that-true fae lore, bc i am a beginner with fae lore but once i grab an idea i grow several wildly different things out of it, oops)

Tangled AU with Diluc as the princess for a change - babyboi be struggling with expressing his need for freedom and Venti!thethief helping him (yes to all the musical scenes) - i have this really strong image of Dottore as Mother Gothel (bc of the manga, where he was being very predatory towards my poor boy Diluc) also Corona/whatever the name of the kingdom is def has a missing person poster left up for Diluc (his fake/new name could be Phoenix? Bc that sounds vaguely science-y and i don't wanna name him after a vegetable) and Crown Prince Kaeya (also Captain of the Guard aka, taking the role of Max the horse in this) spends half the runtime trying to figure out if Venti is scamming him with Diluc or if that introverted idiot is really supposed to be his older brother (the answer is yes. Yes he is.) I have no idea what to do with the magic hair bit, but i am sure it can be worked in somehow - i am really hoping my hoe of a muse won't decide that i wanna write this one, i am in the middle of way too many projects

Mulan AU, bc we love that one too - i admit, i don't really have the logistics worked out, even in my head, but i got this image of putting people in squads - like Anemo, Pyro, etc... Poor Venti wanting to be in a squad with hotguysecondincommand!Diluc but gets stuck in the Anemo squad instead (i have no idea where that one would go or even who would fight who, or even how the plot of Mulan - og ballad or rework - would fit into it, but i can hear BE A MAN be sung by genshin characters and that is a GOOD image)

Little mermaid AU (yes Venti as a princess again. We love Venti in pretty dresses!) - basically usual premise, but couldn't leave my fav princess story out - would have a bit more time for the bois to fall in love tho bc yes, we love some extended date scenes (no idea who Ursula/the sea witch would be or if they were even malevolent or benevolent in this story, but... yeaaaah. The rest of teh Archons can be mermaids too, cause why not, there's supposedly 7 of them anyway)

Beauty and the Beast - kinda more like the og tales (aka Venti!Belle is not an only child, there isn't really a Gaston character, etc... i might end up writing that one if i am not careful enough xD) - fairy!Lumi gets drunk and curses Diluc, bc everyone's fav redhead is a mess when it comes to love... Nobody turns into furniture, instead, they are locked in paintings (only one painting per person, meaning they can't even reach anyone! So sad, but hey at least they can gossip with Belle!Venti about the master of the house... i put way too much thought into this help xD

Oh gosh haha you know at one point, the Harbingers will find some reason to be fond of the child too-

ACTUALLY it would be even funnier if they do have intel of child reader from the beginning and everytime they show up in the order that they do in the actual game

And they always end up seeing the child, not harming them tho, actually they don't mind showing how curious or fond they are of the child. Signora deliberately not harming them when they met in Mond, even giving them a pat on the head as she struts out with the gnosis.

Childe projecting his siblings to the child, giving them an allowance of a million mora and doing whatever they ask. Even if the child ends up hating Childe due to the game, he's still barfing up money and toys for them. Oh, they wanna beat him up? He'll gladly stand still and test his own limits!

Then there's Scara swinging his hands while walking together during the meteor event when he's still pretending to be good.

Dottore taunting them and trying to get info out of their knowledge while letting them punch his long legs without any real harm. At some point he'll make Babysitter Dottore equipped with the knowledge to take care of them, minus the derangedness.

I can't do the other Harbingers since I got no clue how they are, nor did they make any appearances in game yet

2: ""The Take Over, the Breaks Over"" - How would your f/o describe you to a friend? What are some things they always include? Some things they seem to leave out? And vice versa if you want— how would you describe them to someone you know?

HUM WELL OK UH. at first i think he doesn't really....talk about silvio much at all, and whenever he does he probably just refers to him as "the human" or anything similar. later this might develop into "my human" at first, but it's more him being kind of possessive rather than being affectionate, and the only time he really talks about him is when he tells the other automata not to mess with him in any way.

his initial reason for spending time with silvi is thinking that maybe he can better understand how to make Lady Francine laugh by observing human behavior as well as a general sort of...curiosity in human emotions & desires, plus he sometimes has silvi tell him their fortune, so whenever he speaks to the other pionniers about him he mainly just tells them about everything that he believes could be helpful or otherwise of interest to them. columbine is probably the firs one to kinda start teasing dottore about this a little and starts questioning whether this is TRULY the only reason he's spending so much time with him?? ;) but he always shuts her down pretty fast because OBVIOUSLY he doesn't care about him like that, that would be preposterous.

anyway um yeah later on when he's not trying to hide his affection for him anymore he definitely pretty much exclusively refers to him as "my silvi" or any variant of his pet names for him.... :') he'd also probably lightly boast about various things silvi does (whether or not it's actually anything impressive/praiseworthy) and generally present him in a very flattering light lmao

12: "Fame < Infamy" - Are there any unusual headcanons you have about your f/os?

i haven't really come across many headcanons about him so i wouldn't really know what counts as unusual haha....i'd say making him capable of falling in love with silvio might be unusual, but i've seen fanart depicting him in romantic relationships with other characters or just generally showing a "softer" side of him so it's probably also not that weird.....

as far as headcanons in general go, i kinda like to take some inspiration from his namesake (the commedia dell'arte character) and imagine that um...while he's genuinely very intelligent, he also has a somewhat overinflated ego (<- which is real and true even in canon i believe) and also likes to pretend he knows more than he actually does and sometimes likes to monologue about things he doesn't actually fully understand (which probably mostly concerns Human Things in his case?). silvio actually doesn't mind tho and enjoys listening to him because it's entertaining either way (plus he also doesn't really know shit) <3 also, even though i do wanna explore aforementioned soft side, i kinda don't wanna make him TOO nice lmao. i like when he's just being a pompous asshole and kills people :)

15: "G.I.N.A.S.F.S." ("Gay Is Not a Synonym for Shitty") - Once you both fell for each other, did either of you start acting differently around the other? Or did either of you manage to act normal™ around the other?

AUGH i typed up something but accidentally deleted it somehow but it's ok it's fine (smiling thru the pain). anyway yeah to be honest i think not that much would change, at least outwardly. i think they also both don't really have this huge "oh wait i'm IN LOVE with him" moment, rather it's them being placed in a situation in which the possibility of them losing each other is suddenly very real (or rather silvio has already "lost" dottore once before), and it makes them realize how much they're actually scared of that possibility and how helpless it makes them feel. so if anything, i think they'd probably just try harder to protect each other and stick around each other more closely....i also think that dottore would generally be more shocked by the realization that he's capable of such feelings at all rather than falling in love with silvi in particular, so this is definitely something he needs to unpack first once they're in a safer place

If you reject dottore, he'd be sad, of course. He never anticipated rejection, he never even thought of it in all honesty, but he understood your reasonings.

From then on, he wouldnt reach out to anyone anymore, you were– and still are the only person he's ever cared for– loved for. He could never replace the love he held for you. Even if you didn't reciprocate his feelings, he'd be nothing but respectful towards you. With his demeaning and cold demeanor, you'd think he'd be more of a r/nice guy abt it but nope! He'd of course give you space if needed and let you reevaluate your guys friendship, if you choose to stay friends with him that is.

He will still pine for you, but only in the confines of his room where nobody would see silent wallowing.

Staying friends with you was better than not being friends at all, he was just glad then that you didn't cut him off. He still loves you, even if you choose not to love him back.

Miscellaneous thoughts on the 3.1 update Archon quest (IM ONLY UP TO MEETING UNCLE ANPU OK)

Spoilers to follow !!!

I love how many animated segments there were!!!! It never disappoints. Devs never miss.

Dottore truly is scary. Hes also intelligent and skilled. If he wasn't so terrifying and abusive I'd definitely find him attractive. Knowing too what he did to Collei and how much lasting trauma she has from his actions... yeah, no thanks. He does have lots of charisma, but I'd like to kick his ass. I wonder what his vision and delusions are!

On another note, again, hes fucking terrifying. His lack of boundaries and his idea to catch the Traveler in a well- planned trap. I hope Setaria is ok!!

Hypasia's whole situation... again, from Dottore and Scaramouche, but I have to admire the ingenuity and manipulation at how well done it is. Hypasia's total belief and how she is reacting- yeah, if I was connected to a god, I'd be pissed too if no one else seemed to care or was suddenly cautious of me! And her excitement to show the Traveler and then Scaramouche's whole backstory and the show of his devolution to this new state- Is he back as a Harbinger? Is Dottore bending the rules to help him, if they're even working together?

The animation of the Balladeer's backstory too was beautiful. He continued to try to make friends and work through his creation, but I think by the child, he hadn't even done anything wrong. Unless he had died? I couldn't tell what sin the third friend had committed, but it would track for Scaramouche to misread a situation unfortunately and take things farther than necessary. I can't fault him as he was truly hurt and misled by the first to who had hurt him, but again, I really couldn't see what the third person did.

His monologue tho was so spooky and I was like 😧😲 the entire time lol. I also love the 2D animation as much as I love the 3D.

And then the third animation clip, some more Scaramouche as Nahida swaps her consciousness with the traveler. Both parts of this are beautiful and the second part is haunting. Honestly great timing for spooky month to have Scaramouche on the fringes of the Traveler's sight, setting up for a battle that hopefully Scaramouche survives (even if solely for all those Scaramouche savers... oof). I'm quite interested how his story is gonna turn out because I was hoping for him to turn out a little like Childe in how he is flexible on his morals and maybe potentially set up to help the Traveler. We'll just have to wait and see.

The final animation bit <3333 enemies/rivals to lovers <333333 the ship potential is off the goddam charts I'll tell you what. Its gorgeous to watch and thrilling to see the boys have at it and sass each other. Cyno's whole intro scene. I wanna kiss him. I want him to kiss Alhaitham. I want to kiss Alhaitham. I want us all to kiss each other. And then Dehya rocks up and Candace tells everyone to shut up and get along. *aggressively passionate chef's kiss* peak.

The rest of the story is really good and interesting too, possessing people and convincing Setaria that she has abandoned King Desheret and that she needs to step up.

Really enjoying this so far!

GIO: I’ve mentioned this before, but Giacomo did not leave the fatui because he disagreed with experimentation. It was purely the desire to live his own life and connect with humanity that led to him leaving. Over the course of his journey, as he’s been exposed to more viewpoints, more people, come to love the world around him more and more and develop closer relationships, he’s come to disagree heavily with Dottore’s methods.

RIGA: Oh man theres a lot to unpack here-- Meeting Lio and developing a relationship with him has. Completely shaken Riga’s worldview and put a HEFTY dent in his mentality of keeping his head down low and just Not Thinking About Things, and he’s... really starting to feel the effects of this, coming to realize he disagrees with a lot of things going on within the Fatui, starting to realize he isn’t okay with his role in it all. There’s a lot to unpack and I don’t think I could do it justice in one ask.

carnation : what is your muse’s relationship with their gender ? how do they express or not express this relationship ?

GIO: Gios... never really questioned his gender or anything, to be honest? He was made in male image and he’s just sorta vibed with that without question. Gender doesn’t really... mean much to him, tbh? Idk. Like he’s CIS, but he’s also a robot, and his understanding of gender kind of can just be summed up as “wow! gender exists! wild!”. His gender expression is heavily tied to his sexuality tbh, but thats, uh, another conversation, and one i dont wanna have on main

RIGA: Riga does not vibe with gender. This mainly springs from the fact that he doesn’t really vibe with. human concepts in general, doesn’t view himself as human, etc etc. He’s one of those people that’d be like “cats dont have gender”, and he doesn’t view himself as human, so he by proxy does not have Gender. Everyone calls him a man and he/him, and I think he’s sort of Socialized That Way ^TM, but just. Like. In all honesty it means literally nothing to him. I will say tho he’d be eager to explore gender expression a bit more once he’s free of the fatui and kind of settles into accepting he does indeed have thoughts and feelings that he’s allowed to explore and express.

GIO: Uhh i don’t have anything too complicated to say here! Gio things that the gentle, soft, and delicate things in life should not only be protected, but cherished and cared for. They should be allowed to flourish, not just Survive.

RIGA: On surface level, Rigatello would say that all gentle things must be hardened in other to survive. Life is survival of the fittest, after all-- It’s a rule of the world that will never, can never be changed. This is the sort of approach he tends to take with Gio- tough love sort of mentality. ON THE OTHER HAND... There is something within him that wants to preserve the gentle things. To protect them. This is what winds up feeding into the “make them harden” mentality vs something more “anything gentle must die bc its weak”. In other words- Rigatello thinks that weakness shouldn’t be eliminated per say, but should be toughened so that survival is possible. If something refuses to toughen, then it will die- because that’s just how things are. Ideally he’d protect it... but he can’t protect anything for forever.

YESSSS PAMPERING PANTALONE INSTEAD OF THE OTHER WAY AROUND 😭😭💗 I like to believe that he would be so touched. Because no one has ever taken care of him before, he's always been left to fend for himself. Especially now, during his vulnerable moments, he shuts everyone out now because he had no one who cared back then, so no one would care now unless they have something to gain from it. Except you, of course. He probably tries to shoo you away at first (😭) but once he knows you're being sincere he just :(( loves you so much.

But yes!! Drunk Pantalone!! He is a clingy bb!! It's honestly so amusing and cute to see him like this, so needy and whiny for you. Getting all huffy when you try to get up for just a few minutes to get him a glass of water. Restraining you from trying to run a bath for him. Complaining about how much you're trying to leave him, no, he's fine just like this! This position, his arms wrapped around you as he mumbles into your chest as you stroke his hair, is all he needs. (You get him up and away after much persuasion.)

You sigh to him, telling Pantalone that he has work in the morning and he's so going to regret this. He just mumbles some incoherent response as he cares more about your kisses instead... but even drunk he does appreciate how you went out of your way to prepare the bath, just the way he likes it :( you have all his favorite products ready, gentle hands that caress and massage his tired body. He lays back into your chest as he watches you take care of him. Gotta keep up that flawless hair and skin routine for him, he loves you for that. Though he still has to have his way!! Don't be too rough with his locks, he's sensitive there, you know?

It's quite new to him really, Pantalone being the one taken care of instead. Being the more submissive one, but... he likes it. He likes- no loves, being loved by you. He will allow himself to be cared for by you, to sink his face into your welcoming chest, to fall asleep to your gentle murmurs and affirmations, as long as you allow him to.
