i wonder so much about the relationship skwisgaar and magnus had in earlyklok days. like both having huge egos but magnus was still the rhythm guitarist. he was the rhythm guitarist to someone way younger than him. there's no way he could've taken that lightly.

i wonder if he got really bossy with skwisgaar and tried to correct him to show him he was still above him or something. i wonder if he had a passive aggressive attitude towards skwisgaar. i wonder if he tried to convince the rest of the band that HE should be the lead guitarist instead and that skwisgaar wasn't all that. i wonder if he tried to make skwisgaar look bad on purpose.

skwisgaar is the first one in 'some time ago' to oppose to the idea of having a new rhythm guitarist so that relationship can't have been good, like. the first thing skwisgaar thought when it was over was that there shouldn't be any more 'like magnus'. because i don't think it was just about skwisgaar's superiority complex, i think magnus was an unsavory experience for him and he was eager not to repeat it ever again. he didn't want to give anybody the chance to become That Guy

Top 10 kdrama friendships that had me bawling

#10 - alchemy of souls : mu deok/bo yeon + the boys

the only reason this doesnt get a higher rating is because they just didnt have enough scenes together. it was always pretty secondhanded, like the boys helping her with her servant exam in s1, or scenes between seo yul and mu deok/bo yeon. however, their friendship was amazing, and just adore this show in itself.

#9 - doom at your service : tak dong kyung, na ji na and cha joo ik

okay, they weren't a trio, necessarily, but they had such a great friendship through indirect interaction. joo ik and dong kyung had such a wholesome excited little sister and passive older brother relationship. and dont even get me started on the cuteness that was the friendship between na ji na and tak dong kyung.

#8 - strong girl do bong soon : do bong soon and gyeong shim

i wrote about this in my review of strong girl dbs as well, and the friendship between gyeong shim and dbs was so cool because both women were willing to go to such lengths for each other. one of the lesser-highlighted friendships of kdramas.

#7 - crash course in romance : nam haeng son and kim young joo

it takes a lot to sacrifice your national sports for your friend, and young joo made that sacrifice like a pro. their friendship was so cute, a bit annoying at times, but cute nonetheless. they were there for each through the goods and the bads, and that's all we really ask for.

#6 - lovestruck in the city : lee eun oh, suh rin i and kang geon

why! are! they! not! talked! about! ultimate peak best friendship, no romantic subplots to this gang, absolute delights. everyone should give lovestruck in the city a try.

#5 - twenty five twenty one : the gang

how could i say friendship and not have these people. this gang singlehandedly and platonically had enemies to besties, childhood besties, sunbae besties and just everything. right in the feels.

#4 - weightlifting fairy kim bok joo : the trio + the boys

the 'swag' trio. every time they did the swag thing it made me cringe so bad but they were very cute. the rooftop scene was legit so cute and the addition of the boys was even better. nothing beats these weightlifting girls and we stan.

#3 - extraordinary attorney woo : woo young woo and choi su yeon

this was sosososososo cute. the way su yeon was literally always there for young woo. she couldve easily been a villain, young woo took the guy she had a crush on, was higher in grades and well known. had an influential background. such telltale signs of bad women in kdramas. BUT this amazing person really was so good with young woo and totally spring sunshine su yeon.

#2 - the fabulous - the gang

everyone seems to hate the fabulous. genuinely, come at me. i dont give a shit about cinematic art or marketing strategies or whatever, this is my opinion gonna stick to it. i ADORED the fabulous. their gang was so amazing, the definition of supportive, cute and somehow maintaining that joke around stuff. they had their little pairs in the middle as well, but that didnt take away the overall love. go watch it.

#1 - hospital playlist - the band

im a recent to hosplay bandwagon, but. i fell in love. finished the (almost) entire show in nearly a week, an achievement considering it's my finals rn. we've got the piggies, buddha who is catholic, the guy who knows everybody and his dad. it was the little things with them for me, really. when they called jeong won andrea like that was so cute. when jun wan called seok hyeong ik jun's dad it made me laugh so much. and the fact that they're really not that close when u think about it but they still are? like that is adult friendships and we love.

i havent watched the show in a long time lol, so i cant remember if they address this, but this is the 2nd time dipper goes full paranoid wanting to react in an extreme way and i wonder if the story is even gonna acknowledge it lol.

both situations are understandable to a point; in the first instance, there's a literal time limit to what dipper imagines is the end of the world (why his great uncle that's been nothing but nice, outside of teasing him, would end the world? who knows), then the 2nd time ford's aggressive paranoia, general demeanor/way he interacts with the kids in the show, and still being a relatively new character immediately seeped in dangerous, supernatural mysteries makes him more suspicious, but dipper still reacts in the exact same way, even after the big finale twist, where maybe he couldve been like "woops sorry, i shouldve trusted you." in a meaningful moment

i think both times the show does have a very short exchange after, but its a quick, mature "aw, you're forgiven :)" from both adults (with ford even praising his actions after??), and im not saying dipper should get punished or ranting abt how he's a stupid cop or smth, but i cant help but think if it was a choice in a rpg or something, that'd realistically be a significant event to experience lol? both guardians getting a moment of "oh, my great nephew does not trust me." whether its a sad, acknowledgement from stan, despite their whole summer together and them laughing abt him lying and doing crimes dipper apparently had no faith at that moment, or with ford, maybe having a eye-opening moment like "maybe i should interact with these kids (or people close to him) better" aka. not being paranoid, causing distrust in others back.

the scene ends with them saying they wont keep any secrets from each other, but its primarily used to set up mabel's mistake in the finale (or before it?). Ford dismisses it easily bc he said hes got a metal plate in his head or whatever lol, he praises dipper for his vigilance against bill cipher, and they end the scene more on equal footing. when mabel comes onto the scene, though, she doesnt get the same treatment, he assures her she's a good person, but still keeps her in the dark. he spends more time with dipper and dipper is with mabel less, and cipher preys on her fear of being left, paralleling what happened between stan and ford. then we get the evil 12 y/o girl mistake that im pretty sure ppl bitched abt. mabel's already been shown to be concerned abt if what happened to stan and ford can happen to them, and she sees dipper interact w ford more, so that issue is understandable, as opposed to where dipper's mistrust comes from

my point is, the ep/final scene kinda treats the entire event like the first season treated mabel and dipper's squabbles over the twins' insecurity over who is taller/smarter, with them both apologizing, forgiving each other in the end, and i feel like dipper thinking his uncle is a mysterious murderer thereby almost ruining stan's 30-year long rescue of ford (and calling mabel crazy for believing in their uncle) and dipper actually shooting ford bc he again believed he wasnt who he thought he was, is a bigger issue than smth that gets resolved with a disney channel "...sorry :)"

Reiner babysitting Annie and Bertholdt’s baby for a day (Modern AU)

Under the cut for length

Bertholdt and Annie were Reiner’s closest friends, so of course he'd be an important part in their baby's life. He’d offered his help to his two friends many times, from right when they'd announced they were expecting, taking his role as a surrogate uncle very seriously. He just wasn't expecting to be helping them with something like that so soon. Sure, he'd kept an eye on the newborn when one of them needed to leave the room for a moment. He'd even been among the first to visit them at the hospital after Annie's thankfully routine birth. As much as he'd been with them every step of the way, including many a night sat with Bertholdt before their daughter was born talking out all of his hopes and dreams and worries for the child, Reiner still felt unprepared when only a few months in he was asked to babysit. 

Of course he said yes, he'd seen his two friends looking more and more tired as the days had gone on, both of them functional but Bertl more than a little out of it thanks to his restless nights. As much as Annie asked him to sleep through the night when she was taking shift feeding the baby every few hours, he just couldn't do it, he had to be there and watch as Annie held the child and rocked it back to sleep only to wake up and do it all over again before she'd had time to properly rest. Reiner meant it when he said he'd do anything to help his friends out, and three months in while little Mara was still struggling to find a sleep cycle, the two of them really needed a day without constant diaper changes and onesie clean ups and just... zero sleep.

So here Reiner was, arriving at the Hoover household early in the morning with an overnight bag in tow, and sitting there as Annie goes over every little thing he might need to know about caring for their precious baby for the next 24 hours. It was all written down, of course, and had been explained to Reiner over the phone, and then explained again through a series of rambling texts from Bertl... and while Annie's tone was laced with a very serious warning of 'you'd better take perfect care of her or i'll beat your ass' the couple did know the child was in good hands. They were still first time parents, though, so each tip and trick and detail needed to be relayed ten times to ease their own worries.

As they finally set off for the hotel in town for their much needed day of rest and relaxation with only each other, Annie is predictably dry eyed, though it took her about 15 minutes to stop kissing her baby's chubby little cheeks and saying again and again to her, “Mommy will be back soon, I love you Mara, Mommy loves you.” 

Bertholdt, however, outright sobs. Reiner reminds him the baby is in safe hands, that he'll be back soon, and that they can even Facetime later on. He can't help but chuckle to himself at his friend's reaction, noting that he hadn't intended to soothe two babies today.

The day starts off simply enough for Reiner, at this point he's luckily gotten used to how absolutely tiny babies are, and holds little Mara with great care. Mara is also quite used to how giant Reiner is, happy to be held safely in his large hands as he rocks her gently until she falls asleep. Nap one out of the way, easily enough, as Reiner sets her down in the bassinet in Bertholdt and Annie's bedroom - they'd thankfully warned him that she was more used to sleeping in their room than she was at sleeping in her own crib thanks to Annie's need to constantly have a watchful eye on her.

The task proves itself not so easy as the moment Reiner lifts his hands from Mara she stirs, fussing and crying at the loss of contact. The awful, awful sound of her wailing is not something he was prepared for, and the way her cries form a pit of despair in his stomach has him putting his hand on her chest right away. The instinctual move seems to soothe her, and he cries go from little sniffles and hiccups, to her cooing happily once more as she gives a beaming toothless smile to Reiner. Soon enough, her lids are heavy and she's off to sleep again, so Reiner counts his blessings that such a simple action could stop her terrible cries.

Again, he slowly pulls his hand away from Mara, and again she awakens, fussing and crying and pulling at Reiner's heartstrings. They hadn't warned him that he'd need to be with her at all times, even to keep her sleeping. So he does what he must, and pulls her out of her bassinet to rest on his chest as he leans back on his friends’ bed and lets the baby take her nap resting against him. Luckily, he at least has his phone for entertainment, texting Bertloldt with one hand as he keeps the other securely on Mara's back.

Reiner: she wont sleep unless im holding her. you couldve warned me.

Bertholdt texts back immediately, likely panicking the moment he saw a notification from his friend.

Bertl: she's like that with the FIL too. it's cause you're both like a furnace. 

Then, a moment later:

Bertl: the baby carrier is in the hall closet, sorry Rei 😅

Reiner sighs heavily, then checks that the sudden movement of his chest hasn't awoken Mara. Happy that it hasn't, he makes a mental note to check if the baby carrier will fit him, his form being much broader than either Annie or Bertholdt's.

One hour long nap and a changed diaper later, he finds that the baby carrier does indeed fit him, and he spends most of the rest of the day with little Mara strapped to his chest when she isn't laid out on a blanket on the floor in front of him as he entertains her with toys. He's so wrapped up in making sure he does everything correctly that he doesn't even think about the fact that he's discovered he's somehow a natural at this. Diaper changes don't disgust him in the least, the tedious work of preparing, cleaning, and sanitizing bottles almost soothes him, and babies are luckily very easily entertained. He does admit to himself that most of the thanks goes to Mara being a sweet baby, happy as long as he keeps at least a hand on her.

Reiner ends up sleeping in Bertholdt and Annie's room, bassinet right next to him on the bed with a hand laying across Mara's chest. They both sleep the whole night through, in fact, barring Reiner's alarms set for her feeding time, but overall it's an easy night, something that he points out smugly to his friends once they return in the early hours of the morning.

"I slept great, I don't know what you two are always whining about." he's only half joking, feeling more confident in caring for Mara as he bounces her lightly to burp her after her morning feeding. Annie is quick to take her back from him, giving her little one every kiss she wasn't able to while away. Annie offers him an eye roll, then a small thanks. 

Reiner is happy to do it again, loving seeing his friends return looking much more well rested, though he won't be too keen on having a stiff shoulder in the morning from having to drape it over a bassinet.

>:) . i love gentan a lot. now im not gonna be able to give a sexy ass nuanced essay like my fellow mutuals do about their pairings but listen . i just think theyre great. i think they complement each other i think they could potentially have been rlly fucking good i think they couldve really been essential figures to the other’s development. notice the word COULDVE because yeah i admit a lot of the pairings i like come from my own perception on how they couldve developed bc like admittedly genya had way more potential and tanjirou as great and fun as he is he literally just stays static thru out the whole manga. except for a couple of small moments. but like other than that hes mr perfect BUT ANYWAY

i think for genyas part its kinda obvious. tanjirou helped him Tremendously through his relationship with his brother & overall was pretty protective over genya n shit. i think tanjirou helps/would help genya gain more confidence overall, especially thinking back to his last moments where he thought of tanjirou and his words to gain, like, the confidence and strength to go through with the mission even tho he was doubting himself. in that way, tanjirou sorta completes genya, like he reminds genya to be kinder to himself and be more confident in himself and etc etc. pretty common tanjirou behavior.

for tanjirous part... their backstories are similar in how they both experienced the deaths of their entire family (in contrast to zenitsu and inosuke, and kinda kanao because her original family’s deaths arent expanded on), but the way each of them took it provided like a backdrop to their characterizations. i know tanjirous own experience with coping and grieving isnt expanded on too much, considering how its shown that he sorta “accepted” the death of his family from the beginning (thinking back to the scene where he held that guys hand & smiled, and even if that wasnt necessarily acceptance we dont REALLY see tanjirou process his past trauma in depth ig), but i think tanjirou in general is someone that would be closed off abt his own grief and pain cuz hes the “older brother” and would naturally hide away anything he thinks would worry and upset others. i mean we already see that in how he didnt tell that little nurse butterfly girl that he had a fever for his sun breathing (self-sacrifical too) and how he was basically kinda like. not expecting to be alive by the time nezuko would become human/theyd defeat muzan (essentially accepted dying when his face got FUCKED up until zenitsu said ur not dead yet buddy; overall he doesnt accept other ppls help easily as he noted how if he were the demon in their situation nobody would help him (i forgot what manga ch that was but he said smth like that) amongst other situations). theres also one of the first demons he fought where he was talking about how as the oldest brother he needs to endure more stuff and pain and whatever whatever u know. so what the fuck im getting at by the end of all of this is that i just think as genya could develop into being more confident n sortaaaa pushy (i feel like hes naturally pushy with basically anybody except his brother and tanjirou LMFAO) and could like, help tanjirou express his feelings in its entirety more freely yknow, like both the good and the bad. like i mentioned with why im not really into inotan / zentan (like that i feel like tanjirou would always feel the need to look over them n honestly can u blame him ? theyre Crazy) but i like gentan bc i feel like they could naturally become more equal in a sense when it comes to how they balance each other out. genya could've possibly been a character to help tanjirou through his own grief that he’s internalizing and couldve been someone tanjirou could relax around and not feel the need to look over... IFFFFF AND ONLY IF his character was expanded on/didnt die that quickly n early or whatever.

I think that kinda dynamic would also work out bc of how genya couldve possibly been feeling towards his brother growing up, just watching him from a distance and wanting to help him but not being able to do anything. and his guilt when he accused sanemi would just be insurmountable. so what im getting at is that i feel like genya wouldnt want that to happen, like, again, and thats why i think he’d actually take action when he grew to be more of a risk-taker and would try 2 actually make tanjirou open up yknow. bc again tanjirou upholding his “oldest bro” title wouldve taken a toll on him if u ask me. that whole vision of himself would logically lead to a lot of bottling up of emotions. i know genya tried making that right and tried helping his bro by like, becoming a demon slayer, but again i just can see genya and tanjirou having that sorta relationship.

ANYWAY. again i do acknowledge that like, for the most part ive probably filled up parts of their personalities bc i think the both of them had more potential/couldve been developed more like i just view it sorta as a flaw how static tanjirou is and how short genya’s time was. it’s definitely possible and likely that i interpreted some scenes in a very diff way compared to others, and i mightve interpreted their characterizations differently than watever other people. but like in my big dumbo brain theyre gay theyre fun they would love eahc other 2 death they would have a lotta fun together and BLAH BLAH ! but besides the “analysis” i jusyt gave on them i just thikn theyd be awesome. mr “i thought he’d talk to me since we were both in the nude” tanjirou kamado. the way genya and tanjirou have blushed @ each other many times WOUGJOUIHJ. the way they give each other strenght . the way genya protected him in battle and thought of him during his last moments . the way tanjirou is easily impressed (u remember when he was like WOAH SO COOL about mitsuri n stuff and genya was just like ... :| ) so i just think its funny if tanjirou thought genya was cool like . .it’s genya LFMREI9WODJFSLK. i know every other person tanjirous age is like in love with him but whatevrr tanjirou would crush on my homeboy genya 🙄 . iwas gonna say something else but i totally just forgot

nico is an intern and will is the trauma attending and nico is basically like the cristina to wills burke but also slightly meredith/derek in the sense that theyre Made For Each Other

nico craves power and thrives to be the best trauma surgeon ever and kinda sleeps with will to get ahead but soon realizes that hes In Love with will and so instead of sneaking around sleeping with him they get,,, a relationship?? which is wild for nico but will is all for it bc now he gets to make nico flustered in public

and now for all that useless backstory i always get so maria and hades were both great surgeons until maria died and hades just kinda,, stopped but nico still spent most of his childhood in a hospital and bianca became a surgeon around the time that nico graduated high school (so big age difference) and then died in some accident before nico graduated med school so at least now everyone remembers the name di angelo bc bia was p great too so they have high expectations for nico bc of his family and also hazel shows up eventually (like lexie) and shes also a surgeon ((wills backstory is that hes a southern boy raised by his mom and abandoned by his dad who was also a surgeon and probably couldve gotten will into a better school and a better hospital at the start but will wanted to pave his own way and changed his name to solace so that there was no connection to his dad))

nico and leo and other interns are eating lunch and theyre talking about what they saw that day and what attendings they were with and somehow it gets to like “”claiming”” which attending is theirs like theyre claiming specialties and somebody mentions percy and nicos like peds is a challenge and man is he hot but i think chase already beat us to him and someone else says zhang and nicos like “ortho?? u can have him” and so leos like “fine who do you want then” and nico says “solace” with no elaboration until they push him and he says that solace is soft and easily manipulated and screwing him would be the easy way to get extra lessons or w.e plus hes hot and definitely not 100% straight,, and theyre all like “yeah whatever nobodys actually gonna sleep with anybody we’re just picking specialties whats wrong with you” so nicos like fine u wanna bet? ill ask him out by the end of the week

nicos sitting at the bar across the street and will comes up to him and asks if he can buy nico a drink (shot of tequila) and nicos like “but youre my attending” and wills like “its one drink” and this is where nico gets manipulative and will mentions that hes noticed nico watching him all week and will’s requested that nico be on his service soon so that he can watch a lot closer and all the flirting leads to them sleeping together and driving to work together the next morning despite the fact that nico has to be there so much earlier than will for rounds and when nicos changing into his scrubs somebody points out the hickey on his chest and nicos like “oh yeah i slept with solace last night,, he even requested i be on his service so wheels are in motion and i’ll leave you all in my dust in no time” and then he leaves for rounds

will brings nico coffees and kisses his cheek all the time and they eat lunch together sometimes when nico isnt eating with the other interns and its all seeming much less manipulatey and a whole lot more datey so they call nico out on it but he waves them off bc no way he doesnt actually like will hes just trying to get ahead and did he mention that he got to close on will’s surgery today? until will drags nico into an on call room one day and hugs him and kisses him and talks about losing a patient and nico realizes that wills not defenselessly soft but actually still pretty tough and wills like “ok theres no use crying over this more lets go to the skills lab and ill show u what i did bc im still ur teacher too right” 

wills sitting around in the attendings lounge with frank and percy and reyna and theyre picking on will for dating an intern bc nicos obviously just using him for extra lessons or w.e and wills like “no hes not” and theyre all like uhhh yeah he is?? And wills like “well what about annabeth?? dont yall think shes using percy for stuff??” and frank and reyna laugh but percy doesnt get it and reynas like “i was talking to him yesterday and when i asked him about you he talked strictly about the medicine and nothing about you” and percy says “yeah annabeth heard him talking to the other interns about how much he was getting out of your relationship” and will gets pouty and hes like “no way yall just misheard him or something that can’t be right” and frank is like “stop offering him extra lessons and see if he sticks around” and wills like “i dont like this conversation anymore”  but he doesnt bring it up to nico

will ends up ignoring nico for a few days and feels terrible about it and one day he sees nico sitting with his head in his hands so will calls out to him and nico stands up and immediately passes out and will flips out (nicos appendix burst) and nico gets rushed into surgery and will’s at his bedside when he wakes up

nicos pretty out of it and pumped full of pain medicine and nico tells will that he has to tell him something and says that he was manipulating will bc hes soft but he doesnt want to manipulate will anymore bc he likes will like, a lot bc hes pretty and funny and nice and soft but not soft in a bad way,, and will just tells him to sleep and he’ll be there when nico wakes up and then when nico wakes up for real will kisses him says “so i hear you’ve been manipulating me for extra lessons” and nicos like “uhh idk what youre talking about” and wills like “i caught on but dont worry im not mad bc i know you how u really feel” and will lets nico suffer for a second before he smiles and tells nico what he said to will before and nicos like “youre a jerk” and wills like “a jerk you like” 

flash to the future and nicos in his kitchen in his pajama pants and hes standing at the island with a suture kit practicing on bananas or something and will comes up behind him and wraps his arms around nico and asks whats going on and nico says hes practicing for his solo surgery but he cant get this one stitch right and will should help him and wills like “or i could help you relax a little bit” and starts kissing nicos neck and shoulder and nicos like “cmon i have to practice” and wills like “call this practice working with distractions” and nicos like “i dont think these are the kinds of distractions i’ll be facing”

final thoughts on games today:

Tl;dr: london is going to have Issues with a capital I, paris is fine and will be better w hanbin, boston were okay and them losing just solidifies how fucking scary and well-oiled nyxl is rather than boston being terrible. Titans, like usual, have no respect for their opponents and could be even scarier /if/ they wanted to be, valiant pops off sometimes but cant do it consistently, shock looks rusty and dallas needs to pocket decay even harder than they already are to win games.

london: i see a lot of potential in them, but until they gain confidence they’re c tier for me. They seem overcoached and lost when they aren’t unable to go through with their set plays, of which they way too many for each map. When they were able to play their game, they cycled their ults well, but were easily forced out of their comfort zone. Bernar tried his best to carry, but jmac looked lost and wasn’t able to bait nicodgh’s walls at all, that might be a problem w coordination w sanguinar for speedboost tho. babel wasn’t quick enough to get his walls out in time, though they were great when he did. Glister and highly tried their best, sanguinar seems to play very individualistically which gave london chances, but fdgod just outplayed him mostly. Once teams figure out how to play vs them they’re fucked unless the coaches move away from set plays and unless the team builds more confidence. This team is going to suffer with hero pools if they don’t fix something quick. London honestly and truly has a TON of potential, but not the coordination or confidence or coaching to utilize it.

paris: they’re gonna be scary as they get more coordinated! Can’t wait til they can run at full strength w better tanks. They made good adaptations and looked good doing it. Nicodgh’s walls were sick, nosmite looked great, fdgod is a fragger, xzi clicked heads and greyy and hyp did good too. Benbest i didnt watch. I really like what i see with this team, but we haven’t seen them at full strength so i dont feel like i have much to say about them. Definitely a dark horse for me. They should thrive with hero pools. 

nyxl: nyxl looks as dominant as ever. They’re coordinated, smart, aware, turn impossible situations around, and quickly shut down every win condition boston had before they could even execute it. Though whoru’s mei is def the weak link for me (his walls kinda suck. I think theyre just giving him stage experience here tbh. His genji slaps tho), him and sbb/nenne are a scary duo, everything that can be said abt jjonak and anamo has been said already (They are the best. They are the best. They are the best.), and mano and hotba are both doing excellently. I dont feel that this is their optimal meta, but nyxl has showed a lot of willingness to adapt to their opponents and make swaps, which i like. I’m not worried for them in hero pools, though they might stumble a bit. They’re solidly in S tier for me now

boston: This is gonna be controversial (and take this w a grain of salt cuz im plat.) but boston played better than i expected cuz im a pessimist and was expecting them to get completely rolled, and they at least showed some signs of life. They’ve clearly scrimmed a lot of different comps and looked at least vaguely competent in them, which is more than dallas valiant and london can say. They tried to go for a lot of clutches which never rly worked. they tried to adapt, but nyxl outmatched them and kinda drove them away. Axxiom and fusions were coordinated and i liked their dive, their double shield not so much. boston dps were holding their own, swimmer and myunbong were too, there’s not rly a carry on this team. axxiom i think is being slept on tho. They could definitely kite better and coordinate more, and make faster/smarter swaps, but they at least looked pretty synergized. They were clearly outmatched but they def looked better throughout the whole series than london did vs nyxl after the first 2 maps. Boston seems like a B- tier team to me, but they could be better and i do want to see them play more before im certain abt this. I’d call this a quality loss despite the scoreline

vancouver: Titans clearly didn’t prep much for this match and didn’t respect valiant as much as they should have. There’s no weak points on this team, just that all of them went for clutches they shouldn’t have and got punished for it bc they assumed valiant would be weaker than they were. Titans hate being methodical but are great when they are. When they subbed stitch in, they went for more dumb plays it seemed like, so i bet sms is the one keeping them chill. Fissure’s playing bumper style (taking space and dying for it) but quieter, which I like, bc it means they can pocket haksal harder and let twilight go for more plays. Good adaptations, great plays, great synergy, once titans got their feet under them and downloaded valiant it was over. Their dive was soooo clean. Nothing to be said about this roster that hasnt been said already (theyre the best). This is classic titans and im glad to see losing bumper hasnt completely stopped them from doing dumb shit, cuz even if it hurts me to watch its fun. They should be absolutely fine with hero pools, S tier.

valiant: Valiant only have one comp and theyre Very good at it, especially in the mirror, but theyre having trouble adapting to titans. They have very high highs and very low lows, they also try to clutch sometimes and fuck up. When the team pops off theyre sick, when they dont they… dont. Gig is a madlad. I do like that they prepped for the titan’s bap strat on lijiang and shut it down entirely, that was very good coaching, but they weren’t able to adapt to non-mirror matches after that. They might get fucked by hero pools bc they didn’t show anything successfully other than rein/dva variations, but we’ll see. I'm finding them fun to watch and I'm interested to see if they can consistently maintain their peak play. B tier, i think their weaknesses are more exploitable than boston’s but that boston would lose to them. Id compare them to hunters last year but if hunters played meta

shock: I didnt watch this match super close tbh. Shock looks strong as usual, but they stumbled far too much for my liking when they let doha and decay get value but otherwise incredibly dominant. Architect’s ana got sooooo much value as the series went on, beautiful sleeps beautiful nades beautiful nanos etc *chefs kiss.* i dont think shock prepped super hard for them, and they rly couldve adapted better on horizon and won that map, but it was overall dominant. They seemed pretty rusty honestly but theyre still good, but they should be pissed they got fullheld on horizon. I’m not going to draw any conclusions from this game when it comes to shock bc its one game and its their first game back. S tier, they’ll be fine with hero pools.

Dallas: Dallas looked way better than yesterday, when decay and doha were unleashed and it was less about taking space they were monsters. Tank play was better but not great, glad theyre not making note play rein anymore. Decay is a god and doha played around him really well and his walls were sick. When decay couldn’t play mccree and couldnt get support, there was nothing dallas could do. Gamsu… seemed a bit tilted and used ults he shouldnt have. There were also communication issues, it didnt seem like trill called some of his shatters which meant the team couldnt follow up. They weren’t able to adapt that well without set strats, and other teams will use that to their advantage. Once a team figures out how to shut down doha and decay the game is over. C tier, will struggle in hero pools

ever thought about writing a Wanda and Tony fix-it ? Nobody's seemed to ever tackle that dynamic before and I think it'd be cool to see what kin of friendship/understanding those two couldve formed. Also I think ur a vv capable writer for the task

I just don’t think MCU Wanda has anything to her that I’d want to write about - her motivations and actions are just……….it’s not much to build on ‘as is’. For a fix-it I would probably have her be more in line with her comics iteration (mutant, Romani, chaos magic) and would have her conflict with Tony be significantly more extensive - for instance, having proof that he approved the bomb sale (that she was given to manipulate her grudge) and having bad blood with Americans due to her heritage and worse dealings with the American government due to being a mutant. Maybe even have men who claim to be on Tony Stark’s payroll approach her about her and her brother being useful weapons. I think that would give her a lot more to work through upon actually encountering Tony and finding he doesn’t meet expectations (esp if Pietro starts to drift from their revenge plans) - the cognitive dissonance would give her great reason to have a stress meltdown and hyperfocus on destroying him. I’d probably still have Pietro die if I wanted Wanda to hold onto her hatred, tbh, I mean if I’m approaching this as a “fix-it” scenario implying I’m at least kinda following along with AoU canon despite the tweaks I’ve already listed. Losing Pietro physically coupled with feeling like she’d lost him mentally (fighting over whether or not Tony really needs to die, Pietro maybe realizing that him and Wanda had been lied to and trying to steer Wanda back into the light, but she’s already terrified she’s gone too far and can’t risk going back) makes her throw her everything against Tony…who flees from her. Or at least that’s how she sees it when he withdraws post-Sokovia. So she confronts him. She goes to his home and rages at him, throwing things, tearing reality apart, before she just…cries. And keeps crying. Because she KNOWS. Wanda KNOWS already that Tony isn’t what she wanted him to be. She KNOWS that there isn’t some grand villain in her life that will make it all make sense, that will make all the bad go away once they’re defeated, that will make her feel more at home in a foreign country, or will make her feel more powerful than the Americans that had stepped on her people and used them. And it’s horrible, knowing that. Because it means everything she did was for nothing. Tony tells her not to waste her life - he’s stilted and awkward and he doesn’t like her, so it doesn’t exactly come out well. She tells him that she hates him and flees. They don’t talk about it. But then she begins growing closer to Vision, somebody almost as ‘other’ as the mutants of the world that don’t accept her (being as public as she is, as unstable as she is, being bad PR or an Avenger - they won’t accept any of it). Vision is gifted with a similar kind of power that she is. He understands, in a way, the burden of it all without feeling the same kind of fear she does (because life isn’t a fairytale where you defeat the great evil and get to go home. Evil is in men’s hearts and it’s in her own). He gives her peace. And he calls Tony father. Easily. Lovingly. He says that Tony built the soul upon which his own blossomed. He says that Tony is a creator…a creator of the future. Wanda so badly wants there to be a future for people like her. She wants there to be a future in which people don’t hurt as badly. For there to be a future where she never hurts anyone again - where she’s stopped if she tries. And Vision tells her that’s what Tony wants, too. That he doesn’t want to ‘waste his life’ “Don’t waste your life.” Wanda realizes that Tony, awkward and stilted and not at all fond, had been giving her his personal creed. That he’d been given by someone, as it turns out, like her. Someone who had everyone reason to hate him. Someone who chose something other than giving in to evil, in the end, because there was already enough evil in the world. Someone who chose to give Tony a future. Which he was giving to her. It’s the start of something different than what she has with Vision. It isn’t peaceful. It’s chaotic. They hate each other still, one traumatized and one subject to mistreatment by men who look and often act exactly like the other for a lifetime. Tony has to learn that his masks make Wanda shut down. Wanda has to learn that Tony is afraid of an integral part of herself because she MADE him afraid. They both have to strip down their defences to actually get to know each other. But they do. And together they fight to protect mutants when the world come crashing down on them…and maybe discover the multiverse along the way. 

BNHA Angst Week

Day 7: Rose // Time

White day was fast approaching and normally, after being in a relationship for so long, Izuku would be excited for that day. Because he gets to pamper and get pampered by his Kacchan.

But he can’t do that.

Why?

Because he’s back a good decade or so before he even started dating Katsuki. He’s back in middle school, a good month before the sludge villain and meeting All Might. Over a good year before he and Kacchan finally clear up that misunderstanding that was— is simmering between them since they were kids.

But Deku just wants his Kacchan, even if only for a moment. He’s knows it’s selfish. He knows it’s wrong. He knows he shouldn’t be doing things. But... the heart wants what the heart wants and Deku doesn’t know if he’ll be okay if he doesn’t at least do this.

Izuku goes out to buy somethings. He’ll need to be careful when buying it. Hopefully Kacchan doesn’t see him, he doesn’t know what he’ll do if he sees those beautiful crimson eyes again.

Katsuki stops over to class, irritated and patience waning since he woke up.

First his mom had to shout him awake, saying that her and the old man will be out to get stuff for White day and all that shit.

Second, he was reminded fucking White day was coming up. The day he was planning on asking that nerd... Before that bastard... No. He shouldn’t think of it. There’s no use thinking about it when he’s been set back by literal years. Him and Deku aren’t a thing yet.

Deku is still the derogatory nickname he used for Izuku for years. It’s not the name of a hero just yet.

Deku, to Katsuki at this point in the timeline, is a useless, Quirkless, weak pebble on the side of the road that Katsuki should not pay mind to.

But Katsuki knows better. He’s a goddamn time traveller, of course he would know better. He knows Deku has a better heart than most Pro Heroes. He knows Deku would sacrifice himself again and again and again to save someone. He knows Deku is stronger than anyone he’s ever met. He knows Deku is the name of a hero, of a Symbol of Hope.

He knows that Deku is the name that brought— will bring hope in people’s hearts. Brought— bring hope in the hearts of Ochako, Tenya, Shouto, Eri, Sir Fucking Nighteye, and various other people.

But to him, Deku is the name of the guy that was always chasing after him. The guy he’s known since they were kids. And while they were never on friendly terms before U.A.. They always had a strange synergy with each other. When they didn’t think about it they moved seamlessly and in tandem with the other.

The first time it happen outside of training and life threatening situations is after they had long since started dating and moved into the same apartment. They were making dinner one night and they weaved and moved around perfectly with the other, passing things along and moving as easily as they would in a battle. The realization that they didn’t say a word to each other during the entire time they were cooking hit them when they were eating as one of them started talking.

They paused, before they broke out in a fit of giggles. A warm fluttering in their hearts as they smiled and laughed so hard that their cheeks started to hurt and they could both barely breathe.

After they calmed down, Izuku sighed, looking at Katsuki with his shining green eyes, “I love you...” He smiled at him with his eyes shining like emeralds reflecting the colour of the sea during sunset.

Katsuki smiled back, “I love you too, dork,” He chuckled, “Now, let’s eat?”

Izuku chuckled, before nodding, “Yeah.”

Katsuki’s heart flutters at the memory, before it painfully coils. He can’t have that now. He can’t have that for a long, long time. He won’t wake up to Izuku’s cute freckled mug in the morning. He won’t come home to cuddle with Izuku on the couch after a rough day. He won’t have the cheesy but nice walks down the park or beach during sunset. He won’t have Izuku looking at him like he’s... no, Izuku already looks up to him. He just won’t have Izuku looking at him the way he looks at Izuku right now.

Katsuki goes out. He doesn’t want to— shouldn’t be home alone right now. He might do something stupid like break a window or make a dent in the wall.

Izuku was pacing through the market, a checklist in hand and a hood over his head.

“Let’s see, I need some chocolate, cream... cocoa powder... caramel... food colouring...” Izuku mutters, as he walks into a grocery store and weaves through the aisles of the store. Briefly glancing up to check the shelves for the item’s he’s looking for and picking out what he needs.

Izuku hums once he’s done, “Perfect! Now I just need to do— Oof!” He bumps into another person while turning the corner.

“Sorry—” The voice sounds familiar... probably one of his classmates... great.

Izuku shakes his head, “No, it’s fin—” Izuku looks up see pale blonde hair and crimson red eyes. His heart stops. No.

“De- Deku...” Kacchan mutters, hesitant and unsure, sounding nothing like the boy Izuku remembers him to be at this time. But Izuku doesn’t notice over the own ache in his heart.

Izuku swallows down the fear in his system, “Ka- Kacchan...”

The two just stand there for a few moments, staring at each other. As if they’re trying to find something that they have already accepted it isn’t there.

He’s not yours yet.

I know.

“We- Well, Kacchan, I- I need to go,” Izuku stutters, hopefully Katsuki doesn’t notice the crack in his voice, taking a step back before walking around Katsuki.

Katsuki breaks out of his haze when Izuku leaves, he sighs and combs a hand through his hair.

Good job, shithead. You scared him.

Shut up... He... he isn’t the... he’s not my Izuku.

Not yet.

Katsuki shakes his head, ignoring the stupidly hopeful whispers in his brain telling him to woo Izuku now and not make the same mistakes as before. He wants to, too. Oh how he fucking wants to. How much he wants to change how he treated Izuku. How much he wants to change how terrible they both were at communicating properly. How... he so badly wants to change how Izuku looks at him, with his pretty eyes staring at him like a rabbit sensing a predator. How Izuku seems to freeze the moment they lock eyes, unmoving and scared. Scared of Katsuki.

Katsuki shakes his head, telling his brain to stop, before he continues buying stuff from the store with the occasional sight of Deku’s fluff green hair.

Katsuki sees the flower display and spots a suisen.

Maybe I should...

Izuku was currently sleeping the warmth of his bed, a warm figure pressed against his back holding him close.

Izuku instinctually snuggles up closer to them, “Kacchan...”

“Mhm,” Katsuki grumbles, nuzzling his face into Izuku’s hair.

A part of Izuku’s brain jolts into awareness, you were sent back. Kacchan shouldn’t be here.

Another part, the selfish, foolish, hopeful part of his brain hopes that it’s a lies and wants this to be real. To just have Katsuki with him, right now. Let him have this. Please.

A soft voice whispers in Izuku’s eat, the warmth of their breath making Izuku shiver, “Deku... I’m not there... wake up, Deku, wake up... I’m not there, bunny.”

“Mhm,” Izuku grumbles in protest, “But you’re right here.” Izuku grabs onto Katsuki’s hand that rests on his chest.

Katsuki sighs, and it’s heavy, tired, and wary, “I’m sorry... but... I’m not. He didn’t send me back... Only you... time for you to wake up, Deku... Izuku, wake up.”

Izuku feels himself trembling, clutching onto the hand holding him close, “Please, let me have this,” Izuku begs, as he feels tears roll down his cheeks, “Just let me have him back, just this one moment. Please.”

Katsuki doesn’t say anything, but the warmth from his form is long gone now that Izuku is aware.

“I’m sorry, bunny.” Izuku can feel Katsuki’s presence fading, he turns to see Katsuki actually fading away like an illusion or a dream.

“Please... no... Kacchan... Katsuki... don’t leave me...” Izuku tries to grab some part of the fading figure.

“Please, Izuku, love, don’t cry. Please.” Katsuki places his palm on Izuku’s cheek and wipes away a few tears. Izuku leans into his touch and places his own palm over Katsuki’s, as he fades away and Izuku is left all alone.

When White Day came, Izuku and Katsuki went by the day as normal. Izuku with his isolation and notes, and Katsuki with his showboating. Neither interacting unless provoked by one of their classmates.

Lunch rolls by and the moment everyone leaves, Izuku places something on Katsuki’s desk.

Katsuki returns with his lackeys near the end of lunch to spot a box of chocolate on his desk with flowers. A white rose, a primrose, a red camellia, and a gladiolus. Katsuki looks at the box and the small bouquet for a moment, before glancing around to try and find Deku.

It couldn’t have... no. It’s probably some other idiot... but did this happen in the first timeline? Maybe I’m going a bit insane... but it could’ve only have been him...

Katsuki gently places the box and flowers in his bag.

The school day has ended, and Izuku isn’t surprised he didn’t receive anything from anyone. But it still hurts. A foolish and selfish part of him had hoped that Katsuki was sent back with him and would give him something, but Izuku knows better than that.

Upon opening his locker, a small note falls out.

‘Happy White Day, bunny~ <3

Izuku’s heart flutters at the possibility.

It... it’s never bad to hope... right?

Inside his locker he finds a few more things, a small arrangement of flowers and a box of chocolates. A daffodil, a white camellia, a yellow camellia, a yellow tulip, and a blue iris that stands out amongst the brighter colours.

Izuku walks home holding the flowers and the box of chocolates close to his heart.

"I do have some issues with how GRRM chose to frame Sansa in AGOT". Could you expand on that? What are those issues?

Well I’ve reblogged quite a few metas on this subject and written a bit about it myself and I’d love to link some of that here but… how to find that stuff on my blog without slogging through months of irrelevant posting? Hmm… I really  need to organise this blog better… 

Assuming I don’t manage to find the relevant posts (or at least some of them) then I’ll just say that my issues with Sansa in AGOT have to do with how GRRM (apparently) originally conceived of her character and how much of that actually remained in the final product; that is to say, she was originally intended to be a foil to Arya and the one Stark kid who caused problems in the happy family group dynamic. This was apparently because GRRM thought it wouldn’t be realistic for all the kids to get along perfectly and for there to be no internal strife in the Stark family at all… but isn’t it odd that out of all the kids he chose the two girls to set at odds with one another? And isn’t it doubly odd that of these two girls it is the more stereotypically feminine one who was initially created to be that little “problem” in the family dynamic? Robb and Jon could easily have been the warring siblings instead, no? Or maybe Sansa could have been a boy instead and Arya could’ve had a male foil to argue with… but instead…

Sansa, despite clearly becoming a well rounded character in her own right by the final draft of AGOT, still retains quite a bit of that original character sketch. She is written to be a foil to Arya and to cause complications for her family due to her relationship with Joffrey. While with close reading - keeping in mind the social mores of her society and the way she has been raised - Sansa’s actions and beliefs about her world are quite understandable, she is not generally written in such a way that suggests the author meant to endear her to the reader… Contrast to the way Arya is written (because Sansa is her foil and GRRM wants us to compare them in this book!); introduced as a plucky underdog who challenges the status quo. We are meant to immediately identify with, like and root for Arya, and we do. We are not meant to immediately identify with, like and root for Sansa. 

We are introduced to Arya first and Sansa makes Arya feel bad about herself by being good at everything and prettier and getting her in trouble and… you get the point. Even though 9 year old Arya has biases, and we as readers should understand that, the mere fact that our introduction to Sansa comes through her POV already gives the reader a bias against Sansa on Arya’s behalf because that’s all we know about her! There’s also the fact that the quickest way to get your readership to identify with and like a character within a historical setting is to give them the values and opinions of a more modern person… and we get quite a bit of that with Arya, what with her challenging of gender norms and disregard for class and rank. We don’t get that short cut with Sansa. 

 When we actually meet Sansa in her own POV she is once again acting in her role as the foil… it’s the incident at the Trident where Sansa fails to stand up to Joffrey for Arya and Mycah the butcher’s boy and then doesn’t tell the king what really happened and “gets Lady and Mycah killed”, to hear some fans tell it (never mind her reasonable reasons for being confused about what to do and refusing to speak). It’s not a glowing moment for her here and tbh… there really is only one real glowing moment for Sansa in AGOT (before Ned’s imprisonment/death that is); the moment where she feels empathy for Sandor Clegane, overcomes her fear, and offers him the comfort he needs. 

Other than this, her POV mostly focuses in on the trivialities of her interests and concerns, on how very little she actually understands the adult world around her, and we hardly see her interact with others in a positive way. Again… other than Sandor Clegane! She and Arya bicker, her relationship with Ned is somewhat strained since the Trident, and you get the vague impression that of his children, Sansa is probably the one he is the least accustomed to spending time with or talking to (we get no scene of parental bonding with Sansa, unlike Arya) and even Jeyne - Jeyne who is supposed to be Sansa’s best friend - we get no scenes of them having fun together, braiding each other’s hair, gossiping about cute boys, playing cyvasse… nada. Oh we get scenes of them talking, but it’s mostly in scenes which, again, are there to place Sansa in her role as the foil; demonstrating her naivety and ignorance of the dangers at court. The actual fun times they have together as friends, the actual comfort and happiness they give each other, well we’re told about this in a few stray lines here and there… we don’t actually ever “see” it! 

And that’s important! That’s the stuff that makes you like a character! But GRRM didn’t want to show us Sansa being fun and a caring friend in AGOT or even showing off any of the things she is reportedly so good at (she does actually show off some of these things; she shows she is naturally apt at diplomacy and has a good memory for important persons, houses and sigils and rank in this book… but this is all quite subtly introduced. Her cleverness is not meant to be something the reader immediately picks up on). He didn’t particularly want us to start sympathizing with her until near the end of the novel… and it shows. Sansa’s more positive character traits are de-emphasized by the author for most of AGOT and this, more than anything she actually does in this particular novel, is why so many fans come away seriously disliking her as a character(imho of course); many with the claim that she has no positive traits!

This ties into my larger issues with GRRM’s writing of women in general. He definitely treats his POV female characters like people who deserve to be just as well developed and complex as his male characters, and I appreciate that! However, he seems to have problems with depicting women’s relationships with other women. That is to say, if he can avoid female friendships, he does… at least in the early novels (things may be looking up based on more recent stuff). We get great male friendships, and male/female friendships, but when it came  to showing women who genuinely like each other interacting, GRRM just… didn’t go there at the beginning. Yeah, you’ve got Arya and Sansa not getting along, and Sansa and Jeyne’s friendship happening mostly offscreen but surely there must be more women who can be getting along… right? Well… no. 

Catelyn seems to have no female friends or companions at all, even from memory (which is ridiculous!) and her relationship with Lysa is extremely strained. Later she meets Brienne and while their relationship is a positive one for them both, it is more that of a Lady and her sworn shield than of friends. Cersei has no real friends at all, let alone female ones… she actually killed her childhood “bestfriend”. Margaery and the Tyrell cousins were not real friends to Sansa, Arya’s best friends and travelling companions are all male (albeit she does have a brief but very sweet interaction with Lady Smallwood) and Dany’s female companions are all servants to her. All in all, the situation with regards to sisterhood and female friendship in ASOIAF ain’t great. 

Topping this off, there’s also the fact that while GRRM’s understanding of what medieval noblewomen actually got up to in a day’s work is better than GOT’s, there are yet still some suggestions that feminine gendered activities are quite trivial and frivolous, and these suggestions are, again, most evident in Sansa and Arya’s AGOT chapters where they, again, serve to highlight Sansa as the silly, blinkered, girly-girl, to Arya’s rebellious, open-minded tom boy. 

To sum it up, it is of great significance that Arya, who we are meant to identify with and like, is a tom boy and Sansa, her foil, is extremely feminine. The negative aspects of Sansa’s personality, the ones being highlighted above her more positive qualities in AGOT, are therefore associated with that femininity because her negative traits are framed in contrast to Arya’s positive ones, and Arya’s interests and behaviour are more stereotypically masculine. I liked Sansa despite all of this because, paying attention while reading her chapters and fed up with trope of cool tomboys vs annoying girly girls, I was actually able to see the subtle allusions to there being more to Sansa than what the author was choosing to place on the surface. However, I understand how a reader who has no inclination to pay such close attention while reading her chapters could easily be put off from her character. GRRM did that on purpose… and I just don’t think it’s fair to the character who otherwise might have been given more of a chance by so many readers who, even now, still disregard her value to the story.

before moving on like... ok lets break this down. why did mark go to jinyoung’s bed?? why, of all places, did he choose jinyoung’s room?? he couldve gone anywhere, including literally his own room lmao, but he chose to sleep in jinyoung’s room. and this is not a coincidence bc its the exact day jinyoung is away. so was it a comfort thing?? like it was nice to b in jinyoung’s space whilst he wasnt there im yelling ok also! at this point, it had been established that jinyoung didn’t rlly like having coco in his room, he would go out nd play w her dont get me wrong, but his room was kind of off limits. mark knew this?? nd yet he still went in nd slept in jinyoungs room WITH COCO. he wouldn’t do that if he knew it bothered jinyoung so, secretly.... does it not bother jinyoung?? does he actually not mind and is just being dramatic w this story to make us laugh?? is he.... wait for it folks.... used to it?? is this a regular thing?

even tho this was all kinds of shady and suspicious, i didnt rlly think much of it (i kno, me, the Mother of Markjin Tinhatting, not make a big deal of this? unfathomable) but then....... the moment that shook us all happened.....

ok but still..... this was not enough to get me fully tinhatting... but then... a few months later, mark was on running man nd for a long time we thought just by himself. nd the episode aired nd mark talked about how it was chuseok and the boys had gone home to see their families but he couldnt so he was stuck in the dorm by himself. BUT THEN!! who walks in??

WHY WAS JINYOUNG THERE WHY HADNT HE GONE HOME LIKE ALL THE OTHER GUYS WHY DID MARK SAY HE WAS BY HIMSELF ND THEN LIKE 5 FUCKING MINUTES LATER JINYOUNG WALKED IN NONE OF THIS ADDS UP

but that doesnt really imply theyre sharing a bedroom, per say, just that they were at the dorm together over chuseok when the rest of the boys werent... but we were made to think mark was at the dorm by himself?? it was strange and dorm related so im adding it but it STILL wasnt enough for me to get my full tinhat out

then the boys did an interview where they were asked who they would room with out of all the boys. jinyoung, who was the only one at the time who had a room to himself, easily couldve just stayed by himself. but.... he said mark.

AND AGAIN i didnt think much of it like its cute that they want to room together nd mark reacted so happily when jinyoung said that but alas, the dorm they were living in at the time made that dream impossible.

BUT THEN.... we got the news that got7 had moved dorms.

so...... the point that was made, over and over, was that all the boys had their own rooms apart from yugbam who wanted to continue rooming together. like this was ingrained in us. almost.... too much perhaps?? nd little things were being dropped that made me side eye a lil like mark always going to turn jinyoung’s light out when it was getting late even tho their bedrooms arent near each other nd mark going to jinyoung in the middle of night when he cant sleep bc of his booster nd a fan asked jinyoung if he would room with mark nd he said yes nd the same fan asked mark the same question nd mark said “i like him” in 3 different languages like... cmon. i was beginning to get my suspicions but i didnt have much to go on...

2jae were doing a vlive nd they decided to call mark nd when mark answered he said he was brushing his teeth nd u could hear all these noises of brushing nd spitting nd 2jae started laughing nd said they could hear the sound of him brushing his teeth nd mark was like “oh.. really?? that’s not me, that’s jinyoung. he’s next to me” but then jaebum said jinyoung was at a schedule??? nd this threw me into a fucking tinhatting spiral bc ok.... who is lying?? if mark tried to cover up that he was brushing his teeth, why was the 1st person he thought of jinyoung?? but if jaebum was the one who lied then for what reason?? why would he need us to think jinyoung wasnt there in the dorm with mark getting ready for bed?? so if mark WAS telling the truth... then why tf was he sitting next to jinyoung whilst jinyoung was brushing his teeth!!! is this a thing!!!! do they accompany each other to the bathroom nd just chill whilst the other is brushing their teeth!!! is it bc they get ready together bc they’re both going to bed iN THE SAME ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!

AND IT HONESTLY DOESNT EVEN END THERE!!! whilst mark was away doing lotj, the boys were asked which room in the dorm they liked the most......... nd jinyoung said mark’s. bc it was.... the simplest. the simplest....... what kind of bullshit thin excuse im literally yelling fucking simplest??? ??? what!!!!!!! he didnt even elaborate like wtf does that mean?? whats wrong with his own room???? all the other boys answered their own rooms!!! what!!!! the fuck!!!!! Order of favorite to least favorite Harry Potter movies and why? :)

i love getting questions like this!!! 

1. HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN 

this movie is the Official™ best harry potter movie. director alfonso cuaron (who would later go on to win a best director oscar for gravity) completely elevated the series from chris columbus’ movies that were obviously aimed towards children. cuaron took the source material seriously and gave us a well-crafted, well-directed, and pretty faithful harry potter movie. PoA isnt my fave book – not even close to my fave actually but this is both the best movie cinematically and the adaptation that is most enjoyable to watch over and over and over again. there are some sticky moments tho: dan’s acting in the infamous “HE WAS THEIR FRIEND!!!!” scene, the opening scene not making any sense .. at all…,  the character of dumbledore just… in general, the introduction of ron as a vehicle solely for comic relief, and the dropping of wizarding robes at hogwarts. listen, i can complain ab small things from every hp movie for HOURS but overall this movie is just FANTASTIC!! the score!!!!!!!!!! the only movie where they got harrys hair right!!!!! and definetly has the best ending of any harry potter movie. if u wanna know more ab why this movie is awesome check out this video essay which goes in depth about cuaron’s directoral style in this movie.

2. HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE

i feel like this is such an underrated hp movie tbh. goblet of fire is such an important book because it sets up the conflict for the rest of the series w voldemort’s return. and thats the main reason this movie gets my #2 spot tbh: the graveyard scene at the end of the movie. this movie isn’t perfect always, but the graveyard scene is a pivotal moment in the series and imo they hit it out of the park in this movie. they didn’t edit the scene to shorten it for time – they have harry and voldemorts first interaction be as tense and lengthy as it is in the books. the scene where voldemort comes out of the cauldron and rubs his head… it gives me chills every time. i think the dark parts of this movie is where it really shines – the opening with frank for example. it makes me SO happy that they opened the movie the same way they do in the book. they do a pretty good job w the character of moody and with showing harrys feelings of isolation and general angst. and yes, everyone has shitty hair in this movie but what can u do. i also take offense w the treatment of fleur in this movie… in fact whose idea was it to make beauxbatons an all female school? and durmstrang all male?? because that was a fucking dumb idea noah fence. another thing that i hate about this movie is the “conversation” between dumbledore and harry at the end of the movie – if you can even call it that. the talk they have in his office in the books is integral to the plot going forward and it is so shitty that they just had like a .2 second scene instead. actually, dumbledore is just horrible throughout this whole movie. another infamous moment w the “DIDYA PUT UR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE!?!??!?!” i remember that michael gambon (dumbledore) just refused to read the books ever and they completely missed the mark on dumbledore. i actually know of a lot of hp fans who hate this movie but i

3. HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE

i know this is a lot of people’s fave or second fave harry potter movie, but i just couldnt give it that #2 spot. its tough because hbp is my 2nd favorite book behind ootp and it means so much to me and there are just some things the movie royally fucks up that i cannot give it so much praise even though, overall it is a good movie. simply put: if i hadn’t read the books this might be my #1 or #2 movie. but alas i have so i get to judge it harshly. lets start out with what the movie does well: this movie does a gREAT job of being a coming-of-age film. we really get a sense of the characters growing up and being teens in this movie and its great and hilarious at some points. this movie also does the best job with the harry/dumbledore relationship. michael gambon stretches himself to be closer to the soft and omniscient dumbledore from the books. he doesnt exactly get there for me but its closer than in any other film with him. they do a good job with the pensive stuff and the introduction of horcruxes, and with the climax of dumledore’s death. the reemergence of quidditch is lovely. HOWEVER, this biggest most irksome thing that i just cannot get over in this movie is the fucking MESS that is harry and ginnys relationship. one of my absolute favorite parts of the book is their relationship – the way harry pines for her and the way they get together (”several sunlit days”!) and they just completely throw all of that in the trash along with ginny’s character. i also dont love how hermione is portrayed in this movie. the way they did her and ron’s relationship is just… not great. in the books its so obvious that they belong together but in the movies its like theyre both just stupid. this movie does a fantastic job of balancing comedy – giving us some of the funniest scenes in an y harry potter movie – with the darkness and threat of voldemort. the way the did the whole sequence in the cave is great. the scene where the death eaters attack the burrow is stupid and unnecessary however. and while i think they do a great job like telling the story in this movie, they dont really go deeper into harrys psyche which is one of my favorite parts of the book – harry realizing and accepting his role as the savior of the wizarding world. the prophecy is kind of ignored in the movies which is … lame but we also miss out of some of my favorite book moments: harry understanding why his parents died and vowing to fight voldemort w his last breath, harry flipping out when he learns that snape is the one who overheard the prophecy, harry fighting scrimgeour. overall, this is a fun movie to watch and it isn’t half bad, but it couldve been so much more in my opinion. 

4. HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER’S STONE

the original!!!!!!!!!! i rewatched this recently and this is ?? such a solid movie?? most of the credit for this being a good movie goes to jkr for writing a great book, but still they coudlve easily fucked up this movie and then there wouldn’t be a franchise!!!!! so i have to give it a lot of credit. it does a wonderful job of introducing us to the wizarding world, giving us our main characters, and giving us hOGWARTS. the pacing of the movie is great, the kids are soo soosososo cute in it i cant even stand it!!!!! the comedic beats hit, the emotional beats hit. the one beef i have with this movie is that they cast like 40 yr olds to be james and lily in the mirror of erised and they are not!!!!! that old !!!!!!! also they do a great job w effects considering when it was made. watching this movie is like being held by a warm blanket of childhood memories and i love it so much. 

5. HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2 

im sure some of you are surprised to see this movie so far down on my list but guess what this movie fucking infuriates me!!!!! let me just start by saying that the majority of this film is actually really good. but the small percentage of the movie that isnt good RUINS THE WHOLE THING FOR ME!!!!!! ill start with the good tho: the gringots sequences. badass. the cinematography in this movie is just like 5x better than most of the series so well done them. snape’s memories sequence is just like really fucking good okay ill give them that like the moment harry looks up after emerging from the pensive knowing he has to die GIVES ME CHILLS. voldemort killing harry in the forest. this is well shot and executed scene. harry being dead and talking w dumbledore is good too one of the only times michael gambon like acts so. the courtyard apocalypse scene. hermione’s “ill go with you”. while i object to this scene being in the movie that line is [gets choked up and cant continue]. like i said the majority of the movie is good, great even. BUT THEY FUCK UP SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PARTS OF THE ENTIRE SERIES!!!!!!!!!! lets start slow: ariana dumbledore. bet u forgot she was in this movie. dont worry the writers did too. why did they make harry some kind of horcrux gps???? no???? WHY DOES HOGWARTS RANDOMLY HAVE A BOATHOUSE THAT WE’VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE?? AND WHY DID SNAPE DIE THERE?? ron and hermiones kiss in the chamber of secrets was stupid and doesnt compare to the moment in the books. dont even get me stARTED on harry and ginny. THEM NOT MENTIONING THAT REMUS AND TONKS ARE MARRIED/HAVE A KID UNTIL LUPIN IS DEAD RIP. those things bother me but nothing compares to the fucking mess that is everything after harry comes back to life. good god its the fucking most important act in the entire series… and it is a complete disaster in my opinion. just so many?? horrible?? decisions?? starting with voldemorts speech after harry is “dead”.. why did he hug draco. why. also i dont get nevilles speech at all that was stupid. the reveal that harry was alive is stupid. the fact that they dont kill the snake and have it be like this ooo will they kill the snake in time thing is STUPID. voldemort wrapping harry up in his robes?????? why???? voldemort and harry jumping off a building together???? WHY???? voldemort and harry melding faces????? WHY?????!?!?!?!?!??!?! it just doesnt make any sort of logical sense and its not so exciting to watch. why wouldnt voldemort just KILL HARRY ANY OF THOSE TIMES??? iT DOESNT MAKE SENSE?? i fukcinNNGNNG hate it im sorry. and the final like showdown between them is just not as good as it is in the books??? like them circling each other in the great hall with everyone watching as dawn breaks >> them crawling through rubble outside on a bridge. also it REALLY FUCKING IRKS ME THAT VOLDEMORT LIKE DISINTEGRATES INTO PAPER WHEN HE DIES LIKE. that completely undoes a lot of what the books are saying and like lessens the impact of his death imo. the whole point is that he was trying to be like this immortal god but in the end he died just like everyone else he was HUMAN. they also do that w bellatrix like when molly kills her she like ?? explodes?? it just lessens their deaths i think. and the lack of closure with the elder wand like harry just fucking throwing it into the distance is DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ugg ugg ugg. i know my expectations were high and i know its a tough task to finish the series buT they really let me down with the FUCKING CLIMAX OF THE SERIES. like guys it was epic enough in the books u dont need to add this nonsense!!! jfc!!!!

6. HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 1   

noah fence this movie is just really unenjoyable to watch. its a tough movie to make bc its like 95% just setting up for what happens in part two, but i think they def couldve done a wayyy better job in some areas. one of the great things ab deathly hallows the book is harrys psyche and how angry he is with dumbledore, how he is trying to figure out these clues, his desperation, his fascination with the hallows etc. they really underplayed harrys anger with dumbledore imo giving it just one or two scenes and a handful of moments when i think it couldve been such an interesting emotional core of the movie. they do a good job showing the war and having it be like war movie and being isolated. but they struggle with pace in this one a LOT. however two sequences really stand out to me as Good: 1. bathilda bagshot’s house. in the theater the snake was TERRIFYING waiting for it to jump out that was a good action sequence. 2. the tale of the three brothers. beautiful animation. the ron/hermione conflict with couldve been another emotional center of the movie is glossed over in my opinion (maybe this has something to do w the fact that emma watson can not act like she is enraged???). overall meh tho. i dont go to rewatch this one very often. 

7. HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS

this movie is………….. not great. again it relies totally and completely on jkrs work for any of the good parts of this movie and considering that this may be my least favorite book well…. the camera work in this movie is just bad honestly like they just plop the camera in one spot and film the scene???? gilderoy lockhart is HILARIOUS in this movie however a real gem. there are some good sequences and i love this movie but there are also lots and lots of cringey moments. 

8. HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX 

i debated whether i hate this movie or CoS more but ultimately decided on this one because this movie makes me so angry and CoS is just like moderately not great. [deep breath] ok guys heres the thing: OOTP is my favorite harry potter book. and this movie takes exactly zero (0) of my favorite things about the book and does them in the film. the tone of this movie is angst and suffering but not even in a good way. i love LOVE the angst in the book because it is justified it is raw it is harry working through his feelings and being attacked from every side. the movie just communicates…. sad. theyre just like “oh lets uh have this be blue toned… nice.” they do not go deeper than the plot of OOTP, just the events that happen. they dont get into the story, the message, the POINT OF THE BOOK!!!!!!!!! were they afraid to have people yell in this movie??? like ??? they have mrs figg be soft spoken and just like murmur to harry and uncle vernon and aunt petunia dont really go in at harry like its all very tame?? and then THEY MISS OUT ON HARRY DRAGGING RON AND HERMIONE SO HARD WHEN HE GETS TO THE BURROW!!!!! an iconique scene that instead harry just like says some stuff passive aggressively and then fred and george come and are like “we thought we heard u yelling harry” like how??? he was just speaking at a normal voice??? the movie skips out on the fascinating moments with the order at grimmold place and with ginny and the weasleys to instead give us sirius naked in some weird room at the train station and harry dreaming about voldemort in a suit??? why????????? generally they do a good job with the umbridge stuff but again fail to communicate the deeper meaning of what the fuck is happening like the mINISTRY OF MAGIC IS DENYING THIS!! and what does that do to harry?? and his angst?? some of the stuff with the DA is good but some of it is… not. this movie really fails when they try to incorporate comic relief. it doesnt land great and it just makes me think about how much time we are wasting on this when we could be doing other things. FOR EXAMPLE GRAWP????? GRAWP.  i hate the dumbledore stuff in this movie. like. their relationship isnt set up enough in the previous movies to understand how hurt harry is by dumbledore. instead we get like half-assed scenes like when harry just like calls “sir” to dumbledore but he walks away fast like. really?? THE WAY THEY DID SNAPES’ WORST MEMORY [SCREAMS FOR 1200 YEARS]. LAZY! AS! SHIT! GOD GOD GOD GOD GOD GOD GOD GOD WHAT A NIGHTMARE WHAT A TOTAL DISASTER MY GOODDDddddddd AND THEN ITS LIKE NEVER EVEN ADDRESSED AGAIN???? JESUS CHRIST I SWEAR TO GOD THIS MOVIE IS A MESS. the break into the ministry is okay… its starts the david yates trend of like not saying spells while ur dueling and just having like bright lights come from ur wand which i HATE and also the stupid trend of death eaters apparating with black smoke which i HATE. i have mixed feelings about “nice one james.” sirius’s death is GOOD like the way they have it silent with harry like screaming i like that they did a good job a+. however dumledore and voldemorts fight is……….. strange and just not as good as in the books. also when voldemort possesses harry and harry like has a chat w him?? DUMB. and that leads me to the greatest sin of all…… the reason this movie gets the last ranking… THE LACK OF HARRY AND DUMBLEDORE’S TALK AFTER SIRIUS’S DEATH. my absolute favorite moment in the books. unparalleled. some of the best writing i have ever seen in my life. JUST COMPLETELY GONE. IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY MENTION LIKE THE PROPHECY IN THE MOST FUCKING LAZY WAY EVER IN LIKE HALF OF A SCENE THAT LASTS 1 MINUTE. AND JUST SHOW SOME LAME ASS NEWSPAPER MONTAGE WHICH IS SOOOOOO LAZYYY OH MY GOOOOOODDDDDDDDD. we get NO emotional resolution for harry and dumbledore. we get NO resolution for harry and sirius. its like these events that happen have ZERO consequences. THE PROPHECY!!!! THAT IS THE CENTRAL PART OF THE STORY MY GOD!!! harry finds out he is THE CHOSEN ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST CUT OUT OF THE STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT NO WE NEED A SCENE WHERE FILCH GETS BOILS!!!!!!!!! like harry after sirius’s death is so critical like him asking nick if sirius can come back…. harry smashing the mirror… you get none of that emotional depth, that grieving. the ending of the movie is also stupid. also why tf is harry wearing a BLAZER????? god i hate this movie.

i have some thoughts (that i didnt already rb) now that ive caught up with the show. im gonna write them as a list bc theres a bunch of different ones and its overwhelming in the uncomfortable way lol. the thoughts are under the cut bc this got way too long

if they dont go with budd1e in the end, we’re running into this same old problem; no new relationship can compete with the emotional depth that they have. considering everything that has happened between them for 3 seasons (i do NOT have the energy to list every meaningful thing lol) and now even eddie trusting buck to raise his son if hes gone, their bond will always overshadow everything else. this is why also everything romantic that happened between buck and taylor in this episode felt very strange and superficial bc during all of this episode buck has been yelling and crying for eddie, saving his life, running around desperately and in shock bc of eddie, wishing he wouldve taken the bullet for eddie, ignoring the sniper threatening his life bc of his concern for eddie and the awfulness of his absence, dropping everything (including taylor) to be with eddie and christopher, and finally being trusted to raise chris if eddie is gone. also the parallel of the other person that got shot being bobby and how he was saved by his partner, who is his WIFE. buck and eddie will always choose each other over everyone else that isnt chris.

even if they by some miracle do go with budd1e, im still so disappointed that they did this romantic plot with buck and taylor. and the reason is that i loved their friendship. their scenes were some of my favorites, their banter was very enjoyable to watch. theyre in some ways similar people and could easily have a great friendship that included a lot of the healthy competition that they both want, even if it couldnt reach the level of emotional depth that buck has with the other ppl on the fire squad (for example bc of the massive trust issues buck was shown to still have for taylor in this episode). but now shes being put into competition with eddie and is losing badly, which i think is so unfortunate for her bc she could be a great character and a fan favorite in other ways.

one more thing abt taylor that im mad the writers did with her. shes making her moves when buck is very obviously in a bad, fucked up state (bc of the eddie related things i listed in point 1)........... like yeah buck is receptive but still the timing is awful and kind of creepy. she literally saw him when he was running around frantically making thoughtless plans and choices and, held his hands that were shaking so much he couldve dropped his phone. she shouldve known better, especially if they want us to believe that bucks assumption that she was gonna run a story abt his situation was wrong and she isnt that kind of bad person anymore. this is especially bad bc buck has been emotionally taken advantage of in the past once already (the time his therapist slept with him)

okay moving on to eddies side of things a bit. i do honestly think eddies relationship with ana was officially doomed to fail at the “just make sure youre following your heart, not christophers” scene (altho there are other things like the lack of trust, plot, screentime and emotional depth in comparison to other characters and yes, obviously especially to buck), but if they were to make them a permanent couple, this plot with making buck the next legal guardian is an extremely weird thing to include in the story and could become problematic to solve. lets assume they stay together for years and then eddie dies. the two options are buck does get christopher and ana, eddies partner who presumably has lived with chris for years, is out of the picture, or eddies will is broken/changed which would make this powerful moment in 4x14 a lot less meaningful. so......???? what do (and honestly this line of thinking would still be relevant with any other partner he may have in the future that isnt buck while chris is a kid)

okay lastly fandom related stuff. first i hope when theyre complaining ppl arent holding some idiots who attack oliver, who is an actor and cant affect the story, for baiting as the same idea as people being critical of the storys narrative failings......... and i hope they dont think you shouldnt criticize the failings bc some ppl are idiots........ 

okay i hope i wrote this in a way that accurately describes my thoughts. and i hope its clear that i dont want to bash taylor and ana, but im trying to genuinely analyze the narrative and consider past associations to see what the characters need. also im writing this when only s4 is out so truly i cant express my final opinion on these issues yet bc i dont know how the show will continue and turn out in the end.
