I get the appeal of vetvimes I do. But tbh I love their dynamic as is. Maybe it's because I don't value romantic love as much but I think whatever they have going on in the books is much more interesting than them just fucking. I also borderline can't imagine vetinari with anyone at all like I would get second-hand embarrassment SO BAD if he had romantic scenes. He is not built for it. Vimes, on the other hand... I was kicking my feet, twirling my hair when sybil and him were still getting to know each other, and it was all so believable and awkward in an earnest way! I guess that's another reason why vetvimes full-on doesn't work for me personally. I just LOVE sybil and vimes together too much. And yeah, vimes has two hands, I know, I know. But still I feel very much the same towards vetvimes as I do towards tomgreg. Any sort of traditional affection between these idiots would be out of place, they need someone well adjusted to shower them with love and meanwhile they can have their very weirdly intimate deep bond going on in the corner that no one else understands but everyone can see and I really don't think them not engaging in romantic tones undermines their relationships at all INFACT it makes it more thrilling!
