You read aloud the newest text in your chatroom, and your face brightens when you remember the one in question.

“Oh, about the fruit—no, it’s so true though. And I love my mom, don't get me wrong, but I have an inkling she did it to guilt trip me." You change your posture and adopt your best motherly tone of voice. "‘This is your tenth consecutive hour wasting your young adulthood in front of that damn screen. I am now going to hand deliver apple slices straight to your mouth.’ That kind of vibe, y'know?"

A slew of messages follows your anecdote, but it is a comment from one of your moderators that catches your eye first:

You groan at the sight of his username. “Man, why are you always here? Don't you have a job?"

You brandish a middle finger to the camera. “Hope the dump sucks."

An involuntary cackle precedes your next words. “If you’re actually wondering, though, the only person who’s brought me fruit while I’m playing video games is indeed my mother. Heartbreaking, I know.”

At this, the steady flow of messages morphs into a gallery of depressed cat emoticons; your audience never fails to impress you with their way with words.

“But if someone other than your disappointed parent is bringing you fruit,” you go on, “they might as well get on one knee in the process, honestly. That's such an adorable, loving thing to do.”

Suddenly, the words MATCH FOUND splash across your monitor, and you move your cursor to accept the game invite—only to be met with a pop-up window and a familiar error sound that grates on your ears like screeching tires.

You know how this story ends: the lights in your mouse go dark, and you look on in dejected silence.

“You guessed it," you sigh. “Hang tight for a sec, guys."

Half an hour ago, you could’ve sworn you heard sneakers being kicked off, a set of keys falling against plastic. Now, you pull one side of your headphones off and roll your chair a few feet backward, calling through your half-open door: “Lix, are you home?”

You pick up on a soft clunk that sounds like metal hitting wood—the cutting board, maybe?—and then your housemate's low, accented answer bounces off the walls of your shared hallway.

“Yeah, you alright?”

“The mouse,” you say helplessly.

“Ah.” It’s not the first time you’ve summoned him for this. “Be right there.”

A few seconds later, you remember to tack on a hurried disclaimer: “I’m live, by the way!”

“I know.”

This brings a bashful smile to your face, though the expression quickly turns to one of pure dismay when you return to your desk and witness the disastrous state of your chat.

Felix has become a regular guest on your stream by now, always popping in to show you a TikTok or ask for your opinion on a new pair of jeans or simply give your camera an awkward wave—but he may as well own your channel with how completely and unequivocally he has captured the hearts of your viewers. They’re convinced he’s the sexiest person to ever grace the earth, with his chiseled features and coffee-colored eyes; with a grin that could set entire estates on fire and a voice that could scrape the nadir of the Grand Canyon.

Do you agree? Absolutely.

Do you have any intention of voicing this sentiment, so long as you’re splitting rent with him? Absolutely the hell not.

Another of Jeongin’s messages—GET ME HIS NUMBER OR I GET VIOLENT—inspires you to minimize the stream window before Felix gets here. It’s for the best.

A few moments later, the door opens, and the air shifts inside your room. A hand comes to rest on the top of your head; a familiar silhouette appears in your periphery. There is a fond grin plastered across your face and a bright greeting sitting readily on the tip of your tongue.

But then, Felix places a plate of freshly cut fruit in the empty space to the left of your keyboard—here, he hums, the sound falling against the shell of your ear like a drop of melted chocolate. And the gears of your brain grind to a complete stop.

There is no further acknowledgment; no supplementary explanation for what he's just done. He simply picks up your mouse and gets to work.

The words of your tweet swim dizzyingly before your eyes, not unlike those halos of stars and birds that revolve around disoriented cartoon characters. And you’re suddenly, achingly aware of your roommate's arm nudging against yours as he tinkers away; of the aromas of vanilla and laundry detergent that always come with his proximity; of the heat that’s risen to your face, and the plethora of questions that have surfaced to your mind.

A soft huff of laughter follows a gentle utterance of your name, and you snap out of your trance. Felix’s eyes are glinting with amusement when you meet them.

“It’s been recalibrated,” he says, handing back your mouse. “Just give it a few minutes.”

Your fingertips brush over his palm when you accept the object, and even this blink of contact has your heart performing an elaborate hopscotch routine across the plane of your chest.

It’s either your mom, or…

“Thank you,” you mumble, finally retrieving your larynx from the bottom of the Atlantic.

“Anytime,” Felix returns, and you know he means it. “You need a duo, by the way?"

“Yes, please.”

He gives you a warm smile at this, and there’s a hint of something else—something new—in the curve of his lips. “Give me two.” And he’s gone as quickly as he'd come.

You will never know how Felix slips his phone out of his pocket the second he emerges from your room, his pulse hounding his ears as he turns a nervous gaze upon his screen.

There is now a supersonic blur of messages saturating your chatroom, a colorful cacophony of moving emotes and capital letters, but he is focused wholly on the person in front of the camera and how you slowly lift a hand to your mouth, deathly silent despite your every viewer demanding your comment on the matter, your sanguine cheeks visible even through the gaps of your fingers.

That is all he needs to know.

Felix sinks into the leather of his gaming chair and bends to power on his computer. Only after a deep breath blows past his lips does his smile start to stretch into a grin, every bit as embarrassed as it is relieved.

A/N: idea came from this ask, so thank u anon🥰🥰 it was so fun to think of how Matty and Este’s relationship was seen from the other side like what fans pick up on, and also establish how much they decide to share with fans vs keep to themselves. this concept is so interesting to me but i had a hard time writing from the pov of a fan hahaha so i just did it this way instead :))

Este points her phone screen towards Matty as they sit in bed on a Sunday morning. He yawns, tired and still half asleep, then blinks his eyes a few times to read what she’s showing him. It’s a tweet from a fan that sits in her mentions from a couple of days ago when a clip from his Zane Lowe interview resurfaced.

She watches his eyes scan over the text and a fuzzy smile grow on his face. Matty loves talking about Este when he can—to bring some much deserved attention to her writing—and did so often, but does’t always mention many the details of their relationship. That was until strolling around the Northern Quarter with Zane brought a bit of it out of him.

Este is what brings him back to Manchester the most often, from visiting her family and Cate and Georgia to just needing a bit of a homey feeling from its familiar pubs and nostalgic shops. So, naturally, Matty talked about her in the interview done for the release of Being Funny—explaining how they’d met and how much the city means to them both.

“How they put two and two together is beyond me,” he says, scratching his head. “That Manchester Wire interview was five years ago now, you know. Did you ever read that?”

She chuckles. “Course I did! We had a few fans come in that summer with the sole intention of coming to a place you recommended, actually.”

“Why have you never told me that?” Matty asks, “You’re welcome for the business, by the way.”

“You never even told me about your little shout out, to be fair. I had to find out on my own,” Este teases. “Plus, we weren’t even a thing at that point—we’d met once! Quite creepy, in retrospect.”

“When you put it like that it’s honestly so cringe so please change the subject now.” Matty buries his head in the bunches of sheets that sit in her lap, embarrassed and frankly too sleepy to defend himself.

Este giggles, letting her hands settle into his curls. “Oh c’mon, you weren’t cringe. I’m just pulling your leg. It was sweet,” she reassures him.

“You’re just saying that because you feel bad,” he whines, then rubs his eyes to try and get the sleep out of them. “That’s so crazy that they dug that up, though. I’m not sure if many people know you’ve been around since then.”

“They probably looked at your life in 2019 and figured you were a rockstar with a new girl in every city but in reality you were calling me to get to sleep every night and doing origami in your free time because it reminded you of me.”

Matty’s jaw drops at her blunt comments. “I was about to get mad but I can’t even disagree.” He sits up, raking the hair out of his eyes. “Do people still use the word ‘simp’? Can that be applied to this situation? Was I a simp?”

She throws her head back, mouth wide, as she laughs at how ridiculous his question is.

“Please don’t say ‘simp’, love. You’re 34.” Este squeezes out between her giggles, “But no, people don’t use that word anymore. And yes it can be applied. And also yes, you were. And still are.”

“Proudly am,” he adds.

She leans into his side and he snakes his arm around her waist. They sit there, Matty only in a pair of pyjama pants and her an oversized tee, scrolling through the funny replies to the tweet and how big of a deal some fans were making it.

“You should respond. Tell Megs that she’s right.”

“Seriously?” Este asks, shocked that he’d want her to engage in something so meaningless and speculative.

But alas, he nods casually with a smile. “Yeah. They seem sweet, and just curious. And maybe being such a simp will give me some brownie points,” confirms Matty.

“God, enough of that word!”

She knows he is, but enjoys the theatrics of it all; shoving his head off her shoulder and scooting away from his touch in protest.

“That was a special night for me! The first time I saw you play and met the guys! Don’t make fun!” Este pouts, crossing her arms playfully.

“Fine. I take it back, I take it back,” Matty begs, dragging her back over to him and bringing her legs over top of his. He grabs her hand and places a kiss on her palm. “I remember meeting Cate, and introducing you to Louis. And Ross making fun of my gallbladder surgery, and leaving Cate on the dance floor to get drinks, and screaming at each other over the music at the bar. You telling me about the anniversary party. I very much remember!”

“Okay, okay. Enough gushing. I forgive you.”

Matty pecks her palm once more and shuffles her even closer. “Open Twitter back up. This is fun.”

I have no fucking idea what to do.

That was what Vernon thought to himself. Every. Single. Day. Every single day since you started dating.

He was happy, of course. That was the problem. He was so indescribably, extraordinarily, pathetically happy and in love with you that the nerve endings going from his brain to his body had begun to malfunction on a daily basis. The feeling was bittersweet. On one hand he had never felt better in his life, and on the other he was fully panicking because he wanted so bad to show you and tell you how incredible it felt to be yours.

“Vernon? Vernon.”

He blinked a couple of times before his eyes landed on you.

God. You.

His hands were doing something weird, and he was all of the sudden too aware of his posture and did his hair look okay? Did you think he was annoying? Maybe you thought he was thinking perverted thoughts, and it wasn’t like that would be the first time, but you couldn't know that!

“Yes, sorry. Hi. I'm here."

That was so fucking lame.

You giggled. “It’s okay. What were you spacing out about?”

Your grabbed the straw in your drink to take a sip. If you gave him that look while having your lips wrapped around that stupid paper tube for one more second, he was going to pass out.

“Oh, uh- Uh, nothing.”

For a moment too long he forgot about looking back at your eyes after having ogled at your lips (beautiful, plump, lipglossed lips-), so he tried to be casual about it and flick his gaze towards the table behind you, or the waiter passing by.

Smooth as hell.

“My eyes are up here, you know.”

Nevermind.

“Sorry, I was just- Sorry, I swear I'm paying attention now.”

And he was. Oh, how he was paying attention. He was paying attention to your melodious laugh, and the cute way your nose scrunched up, and your hand raising to rest under your chin. Then you made eye contact with him. Deep eye contact. He could’ve sworn nobody had ever looked this deep into his eyes. He felt very naked under your gaze.

Not that he minded that.

“You can kiss me, you know?”

The restaurant suddenly felt all swirly and trippy, like the funhouse at an amusement park. He mentally replayed your words in slow motion to be sure he wasn’t just hearing what he wanted to hear. This was what he had needed. A push. A sign. And you had given it to him, so casually like you were asking if he could pass you the salt, and he finally felt like he could function properly.

“Do you want me to?”

Yes. That was so confident and hot.

Your answer was a simple nod, followed by a stern yes, and admittedly your demanding tone was doing things to his body as his lips met yours. If he was happy before, he had no idea what this feeling was. He couldn’t even imagine a word for it existing. It was a buzz flowing all the way from the tips of his toes, to the crown of his head. It was a bright glowing warmth radiating from his heart to the surface of his skin, and your skin was equally bright and beaming and it felt like he was melting into you. Idk but I do think this was to make JK feel better.

RM and V were not impressed by that at all. Which again, I believe is because they had been told not to Jikook at all and here goes Jimin doing that 👆🏽 Also it totally wasn't necessary 😂🤭

But can we really blame him? Jimin saw his man was upset and didn't give a shit so he took his shot.

We already know Jimin placates JK alot. Or gives into his wishes to make him happy. If Jimin is doing something JK doesn't like, we have seen JK nudge Jimin or look at him some type of way or stared at him until Jimin stopped what he was doing. Jimin is a great boyfriend y'all. 🤗🤗

So Jimin randomly lying on JK's lap, couple that with that one subtle nudge where he tried to touch JK... I think this theory makes sense. I know some Jikookers think they were fighting, and JK was trying to reach out, but I think JK just really wanted to touch Jimin. I don't think they were fighting at all. Jikook as a couple were fine. It's just that the closet can be a bit suffocating sometimes.

Anyway, to summarize: Jikook were told not to well...Jikook. JK was not happy. (He never is) Jimin dropped on his lap to make him feel better. The end.

Even the staffs, members, jimin himself didn't know he was going to make something like that cause it was his first ever gcf (made on a trip he planned when they were going through difficult times), he was happy, must have paid for the copyright of the song used, the only video he said wasn't work like other gcfs (doens't take away his admiration for his members or his hardwork of course), the only gcf that wasn't linked to other officials company sns accounts.

Then for years they been crying calling every jikook interaction that is filmed by comapny as fanservice or fake yet they were celebrating the same comapny content cause it had tk clip.

They say that the company is making money out of jikook by feeding jikook content yet they say that they get taekook content in paid comapny content lol the contrast. Do check the video I'll link below so you can see how many times they said that they get the taekook content in paid comapny content yet use it as a drag when it's jkk in DVDs, cancelling dvds.

Trying to make the comapny villain where it doens't concern when that's literally how the company has been posting every members' visit to other members. they post it days later in bangtab bomb or promotion videos. but they were also calling jk's visit to jm's practice as company content yet yesterday it was sign or pure love.

They were saying they don't believe media cause they make clickbait posts when someone uses jkk # for their arrival or departure yet proudly flaunt when dispatch used taekook #. They believe dispatch is hinting them for their ship mind u the same media which makes ckickbait posts but will surely ignore the same dispatch asking people what they think of v and Jennie's relationship or the same dispatch reporting on tae and Jennie breaking up lol.

Taekookers and their narratives chages purely based on what's benefitting them. this whole comapny promoting jikook wouldn't have existed in the first place if it was taekookers getting more content of taekook than jikook. not the company's fault of these two are together most of the times. The company doens't just cut taekook moments but every Single memebr's cause you don't expect them to post everything of everyone right?

years of them begging taekook to enlist together and now it's "gay couple won't enlist together in homophobic country" only because it's jm and jk. Were happy getting every update of jk from taehyung but if it's jm who's giving then he's leeching off.

summary: you come out publicly through a music video, and are terrified about the reaction. Luke surprises you with a special afternoon afterwards.

It was out. The music video. You. Terrified would be an understatement. It’s not like some people didn’t already assume you were a part of the community, but there was still a large amount of people who didn’t and probably wouldn’t take it well.

You were laying on the couch anxiously with Luke, he hadn��t seen the video prior and he was excited to finally see it. He already knew you were bi but he didn’t know the video was centered around your sexuality.

The video finished and he put his phone down, still silent which made you worried.

“C’mere.” he said softly, pulling you to his chest.

“What’d you think?” you asked nervously. There were so many thoughts running through your head that you almost missed his response.

“I loved it. I love you, you know that?” He kissed your forehead and you felt yourself relax. He had always been supportive but you were worried going public would change things.

Public. There were millions of other people who just saw the video and were online talking about your coming out. You reached for your phone and went to open Twitter when Luke took it out of your hands.

“Babe?” you questioned, not really sure what he was doing.

“I know what you’re gonna do angel. I’ll read off the tweets to

you, just not the mean ones. You don’t need to see that.”

He said it as if it was the most logical thing, which frustrated you a bit.

“Luke, I’m sure i can handle it. I’ve probably been called worse things than what they’re saying now.”

You reached for the phone but he held it over his head.

“I know you can handle it, but you don’t need to. You should just be proud of yourself, and hear from everyone else who is too.”

You glared and slumped back into his chest, feeling slightly defeated and a little bit like he was treating you as he would a child. He sighed, placing a kiss on the top of your head.

“I know how you get angel. You let the bad stuff get in your head. I just don’t want to see you sad okay? I love you, and I’m very proud of you.”

You couldn’t keep a smile from grazing your lips.

He’s proud of me.

It wasn’t like you didn’t know it, but something about hearing him say it aloud made it all the more real. You weren’t stupid, you knew he loved you, but those words made you happier than you’d ever care to admit.

You were shocked he wasn’t jealous after watching the video. You’d been quite close to multiple other people of varying genders, and had confessed your worries about him being possessive. He had immediately brushed them off, not concerned in the slightest, but you had still panicked.

Jesus. You really loved him didn’t you? You sat and listened to him read off the compliments on Twitter, most versions of “you’re so brave!” and “so happy for you!”. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t spend some of the time just staring at his face. It is a work of art, after all. You closed your eyes and just laid there for a bit.

“Are you falling asleep on me?!”

Luke looked down at you with false annoyance, a smile hidden in his features to let you know he was only kidding. You grinned back.

“Can you blame me? You make quite the pillow.”

He scoffed, laughing.

“Fine. Take your nap then. I’d say I’ll be here when you wake up, but since you’re laying on me and all, it’s unnecessary.”

He had ideas for while you were sleeping anyways. There was a pride festival near you the next day, and he wanted to take you. It’d be your first one, and he’d give anything to be the one to witness you surrounded by that kind of happiness and love. Being careful not to disturb you, he reached to pull out his phone after setting yours aside.

Now, Luke, being a straight cisgender man, had never been to a pride parade. He had no clue what to do, what was acceptable, what wasn’t, if he was even allowed. So he spent the time you were curled up on him, asleep, to try and find “rules” online, so to speak. Of course, everyone and their mother knows nobody is exempted from pride, but it couldn’t hurt to make sure right? At least that’s what Luke was thinking. He wanted this to be perfect for you.

It took him about four seconds to decide he was going all out. Thank god for same day shipping. He knew you didn’t have a flag, you’d wanted one but never had the time or remembered to get it. So one was bought, along with a regular progress flag for him to carry next to you and some rainbow makeup mainly for you but he wouldn’t be opposed either. He ran a hand through your hair, smiling when you sleepily moved impossibly closer to him. Turning off his phone, he set it next to yours and fell asleep with you.

Both of you were knocked awake when the doorbell rang. Luke immediately remembered what it was, but he couldn’t tell you yet so he made up a shitty lie to get you off his back.

The next morning you woke up first, and just milled around waiting for Luke. You two spent the morning just relaxing in each other’s presence, domesticity hanging thick in the air. Luke broke the tranquility about 1pm.

“Cmon. We’ve gotta go somewhere.”

You were confused but he had a grin on his face. He definitely had something up his sleeve.

“Where?” you asked.

He rolled his eyes, the light not leaving them.

“Will you just get in the car? I promise I’m not going to kidnap or kill you. You’ll have fun.”

You agreed, albeit still slightly suspicious. You didn’t ask any further questions though, letting him have this moment. After a short drive, he parked by a building you didn’t recognize, one overlooking the city street. You gave him a confused look, and he just shrugged back before reaching for a bag in the backseat.

With hopeful eyes, he handed it over to you, anxiously awaiting your reaction. Your eyes lit up when you recognized the bisexual flag, and the progress pride flag next to it. Your jaw dropped.

“You didn’t.”

To say you were lost for words would be an understatement. You immediately threw yourself into a hug, almost knocking into the center console, nearly crying. You asked one last thing.

“Why did we have to drive out here for this? Not saying I’m not grateful i’m just confused.”

He smiled and pulled a few other things out of the drivers side cupholder, completely hidden from view.

“Well, I wanted to do something special, and I noticed there was something coming up today in the city.”

He still had a knowing grin on his face, showing you the rainbow makeup and brushes in his hands, then pulling up a specific website in his recent search history and handing you the phone.

This time you might’ve actually cried. Displayed on his phone was “pride parades in my city” and the one today was at the top of the screen. Of course you had known it was today, but not where or when.

“I love you.” you stated, as if he didn’t already know.

“I love you too. I believe we have a parade to get to, so let me put these rainbows on you and vice versa, and then we can cry and confess our undying love later.” he replied, still grinning.

Needless to say, you were grateful that music video dropped.

Would you be able to share more about the issue with Zee and Saint? I have never heard about this before and I really thought they had great chemistry. O.o

You’re right, they had great chemistry. Zee was a fan of Saint long before he ever started acting and credited Saint for helping him learn the ropes and really bringing his acting skill up to a professional level while they worked together on Why R U? They had a great behind the scenes friendship and often showed up to support one another at events, Zee even surprised Saint on his birthday with a cake and gifts at a fan meet before the pair went out for dinner together. Zee waited until 11:59pm to tweet out his birthday message to his ‘Nong Bunny’ because he wanted to be the last one that got to say it to Saint before the day ended, so clearly their friendship was great.

Then the downfall started, Saint playfully joked in a couple interviews about Zee falling asleep during a photoshoot they were doing, which was honestly a sweet story about a poor overworked guy, but Zee’s management did not take kindly to it and according to bts sources, started to treat Saint coldly because they thought he was trying to paint Zee in an unprofessional light. Considering Saint’s history with being treated like shit by his acting partners management team (ie: Perth’s manager claiming the only reason Saint was so being offered so many roles after LBC aired was because he was being ‘offered’ up to powerful men in the industry by his management team) Saint and his management team did not take kindly to Zee’s team trying to drag him, they weren’t going to let it get to the level of scandal that had happened with Perth.

Just a note: Perth’s manager rescinded his claims and apologized on his IG for claiming that Saint - who was still just a teenager at the time - was selling his body for roles, which there was never any proof of him doing. And even if he had been some sort of sex worker, that would’ve been no one’s business but his own to begin with.

Back to Zee, because of this, Saint pulled back slightly and was less chatty about Zee. Although a lot of Zee’s fans saw this as Saint attacking Zee and his work ethic, so they started harassing Saint online which again just caused Saint to step back further. Then a pretty damning 2017 video of Zee harassing women on the street as part of a hidden camera DMD segment surfaced where he asked them if he could ‘milk’ them, leaving people pretty disgusted. Zee and his people tried to do damage control and put out a statement about how wrong it was that he had taken part and that he’d grown as a person, etc. By that point Saint had pretty much stopped all public communication with Zee for not only his own mental health but also to keep his career as far away from that misogyny as possible. Whenever asked about their relationship, both claim nothing is wrong and that they were friends and everything is fine behind the scenes. Although Zee’s lack of attendance at Saint’s graduation did not go unnoticed, as he had many of his Why R U costars and Idol Factory actors there with him to congratulate him.

They did a couple more meets together, although they were distant and there is no fanservice at all. They are very professional and kind, but the comfort they once had with each other was clearly lacking. To this day, Saint will often get asked about both Perth and Zee. He and Perth are still very good friends, because it was neither of them that started the issue back during the LBC era, instead it was Perth’s then manager. They both talk often, according to them. Whereas when asked about Zee, Saint gives a generic answer of how Zee is a busy man, talented and of course he and Zee get along. Although it seems as if they haven’t had any actual one on one contact in quite a few years, and any time Zee is asked about Saint he tends to change the subject pretty quickly.

Considering Zee is the older of the two, I was shocked at how badly he handled everything at the time. Saint was hardly perfect, he vague tweeted a few times and did pout a bit, but he was still barely in his twenties at the time while Zee was already in his mid/late twenties and should’ve handled the hurt feelings of a kid better than he did. I like Zee as an actor, but as a person, he seems sort of smug and self important. Which makes me worry about Nunew’s future with their ship, because he’s so much younger than Zee, I hate to think of yet another kid getting crushed under his boot as a stepping stone for bigger and better things.

Just saw ur webb post. I can def relate to losing interest in someone/thing u used to like. I'm a big fan of Brydon (he hasn't said anything bad yet) and I have my ups and downs with him. I think hes not a royalist (he never acknowledged the queen's death funnily enough) and he's said he has mixed feelings on his acceptance of his mbe. BUT sometimes it feels like I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop with him because he just never has an opinion on ANYTHING. or rather, he doesn't voice his opinions. There's pros and cons to this, I rly think, but no room in asks to go in depth. So some days I'm bummed abt not being able to enjoy wilty because I've lapsed into convincing myself there's a big chance he's a transphobe and worse.

(also I could've sworn dm also defended rw on twitter when it all went down but I can't find anything abt it, have I made that up? have I been lowkey disliking dm for no reason?)

I know what you mean, with comedians or any celebrities who are vaguely apolitical and you don't quite know where they stand. And the answer, obviously, is don't get so attached to celebrities that you'd be disappointed with their political views. But since I'd be disappointed by certain political views from anyone I even mildly like, this would preclude even mildly liking any celebrities, and that would curtail all of fandom. Also, people you do know in real life can turn out be disappointing in this way all the time too, so the only way to avoid ever feeling betrayed by liking someone and then finding out they're a dick is to never like anyone, and that's not really a good way to live.

I know it's a good idea to avoid getting attached to the idea that celebrities you like are decent people, but I can't claim to have successfully avoided that myself. I'll admit right now that it will pretty much dissolve whatever tiny scraps of faith in humanity I have left if it ever turns out that Andy Zaltzman has done anything wrong in his entire life.

Anyway, more to your specific point, I see what you mean. The comedians who rarely express political opinions probably have a shoe that might drop someday. It has occurred to me before that if I ever heard David Mitchell list every political opinion he has, I doubt I'd come out of that liking him as much. I don't think I'd come out hating him or anything - I don't think he's a secret UKIP supporter. Just that I'm sure he's not up to the standards of my aggressively left-wing beliefs. And maybe it's not fair to expect people to be, but also, I think that maybe is a fair expectation, if we're counting "don't be silent when your longtime friend and collaborator is sitting right next to you perpetuating harmful disinformation about an extremely vulnerable group" as an aggressively left-wing belief. I also didn't know about him defending it on Twitter at the time (I don't know much about the situation as a whole, a while ago I read the original Tweet and then listened to that 2021 interview he did alongside David Mitchell where it came up, that's it), but it wouldn't shock me. Basically, I try to have David Mitchell be someone I enjoy watching on panel shows, but I don't tie the scraps of my faith in humanity to him being cool. Probably safe to do something similar with Rob Brydon, you're right.

Every once in a while it occurs to me that this probably applies at least a bit to VCM as well, which is mildly heartbreaking because she seems like a perfect ray of light in the world, but I probably don't want to know everything she's ever said about every issue.

In case I'm coming off as a bit "cannot be accepting of anyone's view that even slightly deviates from mine" here, I am actually okay with people who've accepted royal honours. I mean, I don't think it's the best thing to do, I think the perfectly ethical choice would be to refuse them. But I don't think I can blame people for accepting them if offered, if we refused to accept awards from corrupt institutions then no one could ever accept an award from anywhere. I think "I accepted the award but had the decency to feel conflicted about it" is a perfectly admirable stance.

...Have I put together that viewpoint just so I can continue to believe that Sandi Toksvig OBE has never done anything wrong? Maybe a bit.

Anyway, this response has wandered pretty far beyond the parametres of your original message, the point is that I know what you mean. It's disappointing, even if we strictly shouldn't be attached to these things, and I hope Rob Brydon turns out to be all right.

(And if Britcom fans really want their faith in humanity protected from being ruined by popular comedians, never ever Google "Noel Fielding teenage girl" - or just do what I do and really hope it was invented by the tabloids. Though if your scraps of faith in humanity are attached to him then you've already been studiously ignoring the blackface in The Mighty Boosh, so actually nothing is good.)

Saw a tweet the other day that phantom just close in bway to make space for new original productions. And it got me thinking, i can be ok if poto bway closes as long as they release a proshot of the entire musical with the original direction and set. Like, it's the least they could do if this happens. What do u think? Also, would u be fine if poto bway, or west end for that matter, closes?

I mean, intellectually I know it's bound to happen that one day (maybe - watch the apocalypse happen and Phantom still goes on, performed by radioactive cockroaches), but emotionally, no, I probably wouldn't ever be okay with it closing unless I literally fell out of the fandom completely.

I also think that I'm "in this" for somewhat different reasons. For me, the fun of the show is not just knowing it exists, but also following all the news about it. I love learning about cast updates and watching or reading about their performances. I love discussing it with fellow fans who have seen it. I love looking at new photos and videos and making gifsets and meta out of it. I love seeing the little changes in blocking and direction and comparing it to other productions.

So if either or both the flagship productions closed, I'd be losing all of that, and none of it can really be made up for with a proshot of the original cast. I mean, it doesn't help that I have bootlegs of the original direction and cast, so getting a proshot is just an upgrade of something I already have. But even disregarding that, a lot of my enjoyment of the current productions is based off watching it change and grow over the years, knowing that no cast or performance is ever exactly the same as the next, knowing that there will be future performances that will be new and different, and a proshot of a singular performance of the original cast is basically the opposite of that. It would certainly mitigate my emotions, yeah... but probably not by much.

Reigen can't believe it. One vote!? How could he lose by ONE VOTE!? Even that stupid skeleton voted for him!

Mob shows up and says offhand that since tumblr sexymen are unattractive, he wanted Reigen to have self-confidence, not rely on what other people think of him. Therefore he voted for Sans. Reigen doesn't know how to feel about this.

Nope she just labeled me terrible things even though I'm none of that she had posted last year only a select few taken out of context. I addressed this in my carrd briefly I believe it's still there I'm not sure though . I get she thought I was a terrible person or what ever based on those select tweets taken completely outta context but why did she block my best friend who's a singer that didn't even know of her existence like he literally did nothing to her . 👀 Anyway yeah NO I NEVER GOT AN APOLOGY FROM HER it's weird she slanders my name and others but allegedly when hers is being slandered it's not ok? It's never ok to lie on someone's name EVER. But I wanna make it clear it was her who started all the drama but was not her that did the other things . It was her who did the psa or what ever u call those things where u slander someone's name and say to be careful blah blah blah and get everyone to basically unfollow the person without saying to. She also blocked my main acc so I couldn't even ask her nor clarify with her what happened. I think she was sent a few screenshots and ran with it or she misunderstood what the rant that day was about. It was in regards to local protest and what locals were asking . As well as so many other things. But at the end of the day I'm thankful for her she exposed all those just using me to get free stuff and she gave me new followers from those who agreed on my protest view and others who were mature and didn't just do as they were told basically and who actually asked questions ,had me clarify etc.. One of my biggest fears was to be "canceled " /cyber bullied again but I faced that fear and now I help others through it .
