Thinking about how the players of Double Life immediately started subtly being more careful because of the soul bonds. Thinking about how even though this is a death game, even though the goal has always been to stay alive at all costs and take as little damage as possible, I heard so many variations on "I'm going to have to get used to taking care of you, too" from so many of them, followed by them taking much better care of themselves. Thinking about how out of their way they go not to take small amounts of mundane damage from falls and drowning because the harm feels different when it isn't just you suffering it. Just...thinking a lot about that.

#double life #It's fascinating to me #just....the difference in thinking it makes to imagine a person outside of yourself coming to harm or inconvenience from something you do #vs when it's just yourself #the extra vigilance that in the end doesn't really make much sense #because aren't all of them just people? aren't you also a person?#why does it feel different to take a hit alone than to share it with somebody else? why does that make us more reluctant?#it's very interesting and i think it might actually help all of them to last longer in the series #it's like the life series equivalent to being given a plant to take care of for your mental health #or like. one of those egg babies from home ec classes #because suddenly it's not just /you/#i can't wait to see how that'll play out #(but also. if you're reading this maybe go get a glass of water if you're thirsty)#(eat if you're hungry，get a blanket if you're cold)#(because i bet you would if you had a friend soul bound to you who could feel the same things)#(and are you not soul bound to yourself?)

#i was looking through old photos today. they where from wjen i was like 1 and it made me so sad #bc my mum would have been like only a year or 2 older then i am now and she looked so young #and now she has an abdomen full of tumors and blistered hands and feet. theyre prob gonna hsve to remove her bladder #but shes still very pragmatic abt it. but she grew up in a house where no one really cared about her feelings so she made them small #and now her mother calls and doesn't ask how her grandkids are doing and doesn't ask how her daughter is doing. im cursed with terrible #grandparents on both sides but i resent my mothers mother worse. though my dad said i probably wouldnt have survived his upbringing #and hes right. my nana has like zero empathy and cant cook for shit. idk how my parents r so normal but the fact i had a good upbringing is #probably the only reason im still here. and thats the other thing that made me sad abt the old pics. just looking at this little baby with a #fucked up head and thinking: in 25 years that kid is gonna b so broken down their not gonns kno what to do or how to fix it. idk whats wrong #with me. ive always been some stage of miserable but i used to b able to get things done. and now i cant seem to force functionality #and it sucks. bc im home now and i still feel like im cringing around this open wound in my chest. but whatever #as of today ive started taking ab1lify. hopefully it helps in the long term but in the short term it triggers my 0cd. which is not fun #its so frustrating. whatever. i also found out my eyes used to not work together. not enough to have a lazy eye but it was hard for me to #read and apparently my eyes were tracking at like double the speed of a normal person. wtf is wrong with my brain? also also my mum was like #yea i never would have guessed bip0lar but we thought it was something. autism i could see 100% but yea didnt see that coming. ao i guess #i brehave like a bit of an oddball. ans my nana would bother my dad to try to make me participate in church and my dad was like no. she #clearly don't wanna b here lol. ay. they did the best they could which i appreciate #unrelated

The fun thing about learning more crafts is that you can see objects and think, "I can make that" instead of "I could buy that."

#adventures in crafting #which should probably become a catchall term for these things #thought occurred because i came across a picture of a mini book ornament #with actual text of christmassy parts of books on its pages #and a bookmark that doubled as the hanger #and i realized with delight that this would be completely doable with my limited bookbinding skills #and be a way to use them without making things that take up too much space #and now that i'm looking for ways to use up my air dry clay all sorts of little objects are potentially within my reach #this doesn't apply to everything because i'm not very good at most things #but i do have more options now #the book ornament is so exciting because i love reading by the christmas tree and this would be so convenient!#pretty *and* useful!#now it's just a question of choosing texts #ornament i saw had the little women christmas scene #could also be cool to have a christmas mystery: the flying stars and/or the adventure of the blue carbuncle #or maybe little christmas poems or the gift of the magi or something

Me, 5 days ago: I'm just gonna go over my outline again, I feel like I'm getting stuck.

Me, today, exhausted and covered in blood: So I restructured the entire plot and changed the timeline and half of the conflict. Also it's a trilogy now.

(Guess who is now actively working on a rework of ASE... this guy.)
