Summary: you have to go out for a small family dinner with your girlfriend, Joel, Maria, and Tommy.

You wouldn't consider yourself a very fancy person, but considering you and Ellie had only been going out for 4 months, it was probably about time you met some of her family. The flowy black dress that hug your curves was gorgeous, you had to admit but you weren't use to it at all. Even tho this was Ellies family she still wanted to dress right. She had a lovely suit on. Its one thing you loved about her, how comfortable she was. It's not that you didn't feel comfortable in this dress, you loved it. You hardly got to wear them. You just felt a little unusual. "You look-" Ellie couldn't find the correct words. Beautiful, gorgeous, stunning? She wanted to use them all quite frankly.

"Els you look even prettier." You say sweetly, going over, fixing her tie and her hair just a little. "Youre perfect." She blurts out. And thats all it took to ease all those nerves in you. You had made a plan not to drink too much tonight either. Lightweight was an understatement, one drink and you were gone. So you had to be careful you couldn't fuck this up. Especially when you could get a bit intense when you were drunk, even a little bratty. So it was a must that you didn't do that infront of them.

You and Ellie had arrived to the restaurant not too long after. Seeing, Joel, Tommy, and Maria already there and seated. "Sorry if we are a bit late." Ellie says apologetically, hugging Joel first. "We were just early kiddo, no need to be sorry." He says hugging back. "Well guys, this is my girlfriend, Y/n." She says motioning for you to go over. You give them a smile, giving each a polite hug. "It's nice to finally meet you." Maria smiles. "It's nice to meet you all too." You begin to sit down looking at the menu. "Ellie wouldn't stop braggin 'bout you, didn't even know if you were real." Tommy states, to which Ellie kicks his foot under the table. "Ow-" "But it's so good to finally meet you hun." Joel gives a kind smile. You return it but your attention turns to Ellies you could tell she wanted this to go smoothly.

The drinks were coming around, and it's not like you weren't going to have atleast one. Ellies mistake, which she was going to do was monitor it. When she soon saw how fast you were drinking on your second one her eyes widened, grabbing it and setting it down. "Slow down there babe." She whispers slightly, then giving you quite the look. You blink slightly, hadn't even realized the pace you were going at. Oops. "So Y/n, how long have you been living here." Maria asks, to which your beginning tipsy self, didn't hear. "Ehem." Ellie coughs out, bringing you to reality again. "Oh- pardon, uhm since I was about 2." You smile at her. "And have you always lived around here?" Tommy pipes up. "It differs, I haven't lived around here my whole life but different areas." You go for another sip of your drink.

That feeling started to creep up on you, and you hadn't really shown it. Making Ellie oblivious. But you had no control over your next move. Your hand moves to hers that's resting on her thigh, you go to grab it placing it on yours instead. Normal right? Until you smirk slightly. Your hand moves up, and up- "Ellie?" Joel inquires as she suddenly chokes slightly on her food. "Im good I'm good." She gives him a reassuring smile. "But you're not. - Y/n. Stop it." Ellie whispers in your ear, trying to get you to stop drinking anymore, you knew you'd hate yourself tomorrow. She looks at you, her whispering got lower. You just shrug. "Don't." She mouths. But that only made you want to do it more.

Next move was to put your own hand on her thigh, it flexes as soon as she feels it. She lets out an annoyed breath. "How's everyone's food?" Tommy then asks. "I love mine." You say in the most sickly sweet voice. This makes Ellie bite her cheek. "A word?" She begins to get up, grabbing your hand. "Excuse me, you guys. I forgot to ask her something before we left." They all nod. "Alright babygirl, take your time." Joel gives a sweet smile yet again.

"What the hell are you doing." She speaks, all too calmly for your liking, figuring she'd be more pissed off. You knew that's not how Ellie was. She never had to yell to get you to shut up. "Huh?" You think. "I dunno." You smile at her. "You just look so good Els." She scoffs slightly. "Behave." She goes to walk away. "Well maybe you should've kept an eye out." Her movements still, she doesn't say a word. Uh oh. You shut up for a second til her head turns. "Hey baby?" You hum. "Dont be surprised when you get bent over."

Your hands scramble to grip the couch. "I-" She tuts. "Nuh uh, you started this pretty girl. Why don't we just finish it." You go to sit back up but that was clearly no use. "This is basically your fault." You speak, voice muffled by the cushion. Her laugh echoes throughout your guys living room. "Oh, baby, baby baby. I wasn't the one making a fool of myself was I? Hmm?" You stay silent, unable to find the words, as you feel her hand come in between your thighs. Your mouth hangs open slightly. They squeeze together, making her hum. "I told you, but you were dying for it-" "No, i-" her finger slips inside your underwear, slipping into your entrance making you shut right up. "What was that?" his first instinct is to always make you laugh

so he’ll put the guitar away and settle down with you

and does his absolute best to listen even tho he isn’t always great at it

your ability to express emotions has always been something he’s admired about you

he’s an absolute brick wall when it comes to human things

but especially feelings

he can’t experience the full calibre of emotions that humans do so it’s hard for him to comprehend them

still, he hates seeing you upset and in pain, so he’ll try almost anything to cheer you up

he can’t exactly fight your feelings so he settles on a more…pacifist approach

treads very lightly with you and is super careful not to invalidate whatever you’re feeling

goes for physical comfort before anything

wraps you up in a blanket and holds you in his lap

he’ll even put his work away and let you cuddle up to him for as long as you need

or if you can’t focus you guys will watch something in bed

strokes your hair and talks to you in his soothing voice

will comfort you through whatever you are dealing with

whether it’s something silly or something serious, your emotions are not something he takes lightly

but yes, i did actually dissect the lyrics. yes, i am actually insane. and yes, i love this au quite a lot.

here are my notes and what i think each song represents, tho its mainly just the vibes i get. i made notes as i listened to them (note: i see songs almost always in animatic form. idk if that will effect how i imagine what each song means, but i thought it might be worth mentioning)

say what you think: def making me think of them both in heaven and jophiel wanting to ask questions.

running up that hill: AHH this one hurt. very obvious as well. jophiel seeing that azazel shouldnt be a demon. "And if I only could I'd make a deal with God, and I'd get Him to swap our places." i am sobbingggg

what difference does it make?: at first i was going to say its jophiel wanting to figure out what went wrong but azazel makes them promise not to, but i think its better suited for azazel understanding hes a demon, but he cant help but still have faith in the almighty

please please please let me get what i want: fuckkk is this about azazel being a demon but still wanting to do good 😭 short but still painful

ever fallen in love (with someone you shouldn't've): my first reaction to the title alone was like the second image of the kambucha girl meme. anyway i think this one is about them becoming friends (or more?? 👀) but knowing its seen as wrong. "And if I start a commotion, I run the risk of losing you and that's worse" makes me also think of jophiel talking to the metatron and realizing he shouldnt ask about azazel lest he risk the poor thing being smited.

nothing critical: ohhhh this one gives hella vibes of jophiel not trusting heaven and knowing "something isnt right here" in regards to the fall-- HOLD UP "I know, someone had to go, If not him it'd be me instead" HELLO??? aziraphale asking for jophiel??? is this like after he finds out what azazels name used to be??

flowers never bend with the rainfall: hmm... i feel like this is a plot point song. not sure why. but "And I hide behind the shield of my illusion" makes me think it pertains to azazel

bird in space: oh this ones a bit tricky. i think ive reached the songs that no longer fit the lore we've been given thus far. so the only thing i can think rn is jophiel enjoying earthly pleasures? not rlly sure

angel, won't you call me?: oh fuckkk is this about a fight they have? "I fled at the face of my rival. When I felt his breath at the back of my neck. Angel, won't you call?" theres no way that isnt about azazel saying smth and then leaving, only to be scared he severed his tie to the only person thats been nice to him.

the stranger: first of this is a bop and im loving it. very groovy. the first thing that comes to mind is the "choose your faces wisely" prophecy. ooo is this about jophiel trying to convince azazel hes still meant to be an angel? that he wasnt meant to fall? also, the last verse is sticking out to me... not sure why

all i think about now: fuckkkkk this is giving me the vibes of jophiel finding out azazel Fell cuz of him and feeling guilty about it. "If I'm late, can I thank you now?" FUCKING OW?? oh yeah for sure this is about jophiel finding out and being sucker punched with guilt

ill be your mirror: oh goddd this song. i know crowley listens to this song but i cant remember what its about so lets see. AH SHIT YEAH THATS RIGHT. okay so jophiel reminds azazel that he is inherently good, regardless of if hes a demon. thats what im getting from this (also just tihnking of that ask i sent about the reflective sunglasses bthwjegkrw)

me and my husband: okay all im getting from this is "they r down bad". they r very very very much in love. getting vibes of this being after they stop the apocolypse. or maybe their feelings developing thru the centuries

"Hail to the Heavenly Teacher." okay so i assume this is an azazel song. this is just making me think of the bookshop fire, but its azazel thinking jophiel died 😭 ....i am staring at the lyircs. i am glaring at the lyrics. this song MEANS something. i just dont know what. but its important. im squinting at it very hard (note: i came back to this song and am STILL glaring at it. its like. its like im seeing it covered in sand but i know theres gold underneath. i cant SEE the gold, but i know its there. this is driving me nuts /pos)

what do they know?: holy shit okay this is a completely different kind of song than the others. im.... glaring at these lyrics too. feels like a plot point but cant tell what it is. i think its about jophiel? maybe heaven too?? idk im grasping at straws with this one

sea of love: oh yay a happy song again 😌 okay this is just short and sweet. gives me forgiveness and/or confession vibes.

who are you, really?: this one sounds important and i am glaring!! makes me think of "we dont need heaven we dont need hell" and also "a demon/angel that goes along with hell/heaven as far as he can". also just makes me think of jophiel speaking.

the moon will sing: i fucking love this song but i dont think ive ever looked at the lyrics so lets goooo. right away i see "I could have been anyone, anyone else. Before you made the choice for me" and think of aziraphale asking and falling for jophiel, and in a way making the choice of jophiel staying an angel. "Instead, I made a bed with apathy" jophiel trying not to care about a random demon. "I shine only with the light you gave me" jophiel giving azazel ideas on how to do "good" while being "bad". also with that line, thinking of azazel saying that to god and being sad about having fallen AUGHH i have a whole animatic in my head with this song and im losing my mind

matephor: hnnnn another important sounding song. jophiel vibes. fight song perhaps?? "Don't look too hard 'cause you won't like the scars he left in me" azazel vibes??? this one is elusive to me but i love it. okay im slowly getting more azazel vibes. like azazel trying to convince jophiel that he is a demon and fell for a reason

providence: right away getting "heaven and hell r bad" vibes. earth angel: oh i know this one but only with crowley and aziraphale, so im excited to listen to it with an oopsie omens mind set. omg wait why does it hit HARDER. love sick azazel is such a cute image 🥺🥰

As a member of the Fatui, you are to serve the Tsaritsa and follow the orders of the Fatui Harbingers.

After your superior, La Signora, was killed by the Raiden Shogun in Inazuma, you were stationed back to Mondstadt. Some of your comrades wanted so badly to seek revenge after Signora's death, but you couldn't care less.

She was just your superior that you take orders for. Now that she's gone, she's nothing. You only ever cared about getting the job done and never concerned yourself with your personal feelings.

Now, you have yet to be a subordinate to one of the Harbingers left.

What you hated the most about in Mondstadt is staying at the Goth Grand Hotel. Sure, it was luxurious and you had your own room, but the Fatui agents were annoying, brawling about who owed them money for wine. Every time. It was stupid.

Another brawl happened once again, and this time you have had it — so you left the hotel at midnight.

You had a coat draped over your Fatui uniform when you left, and thankfully most of the people were already asleep, only leaving the Knights of Favonius to guard.

They were about to stop you from leaving till you showed them your Fatui insignia, and that was enough for them to back off.

After wandering around Mondstadt for a bit, you discovered a mysterious man and a few hilichurls lying in defeat beneath him. You quickly walked away when he turned around, but he noticed you before you could escape.

"Hey, stop. Show yourself."

You mentally cursed. You knew better than to escape now. You displayed a calm expression before you turned to face him. He had a mask so you didn't know his identity.

…And you realized you forgot your mask in your hotel room. Shit.

You took a good look at him, and you could almost recognize the red hair, but you weren't sure since the moon was the only source of light at the moment.

"Who are you?" He asked suspiciously. You didn't want to tell him that you were a part of the Fatui — you knew how much people hated the fatui — so you lied.

"…Just a wanderer from Snezhnaya."

Seeing as you weren't much of a threat, he nodded and headed off, not bothering to tell you who he was.

The red hair was familiar, though.

After a few days, you found yourself wandering Mondstadt late at night once again as you couldn't sleep.

You sat on a rock and heaved a sigh. Moments later, you heard someone panting nearby, so you decided to follow the sound cautiously.

Some guy was leaning against a tree, head hanging low as he held onto his arm. You tried to hide to look at the person’s face but to your dismay, you accidentally stepped on a leaf, making a rustling noise.

He raised his head in alarm, then he saw you. "…It's you."

It was Diluc Ragnvindr — you realized at that moment he was the 'Darknight Hero' everyone was talking about. He wore the same outfit from a few days ago, except he didn't have his mask on.

And you forgot to wear your mask once again!

Your eyes widened when you saw his injured arm, which explained why he was holding onto it earlier. "You're hurt… Hold on." Thankfully, your vision could provide healing. You walked up to him, offering to tend to his wounds.

He seemed hesitant for a moment, but he agreed and lent you his arm. After that, he cleared his throat. "Thank you. I suppose I could treat you to a drink at Angel's Share as a token of appreciation," Then he added, "As long as you keep my identity a secret, I don't want anyone finding out what I do during these hours."

As a Fatuus, could you really be involved with him? "...Sure, and of course, I won't tell anyone."

Since that night, you started getting close with Diluc. You did a great job at not being seen by the other Fatui what you've been up to during your spare time.

Always accompanying him during his late night duties, or sometimes when he was the one in-charge at Angel's Share, you'd just sit and talk to him while he was making drinks for customers. You knew it was risky, this whole friendship you're developing with Diluc.

You never knew what history he had with the harbingers, all you knew that the Fatui declared him to be 'persona non grata' in Snezhnaya, and you haven't even told him you were a member of the Fatui.

The thought of telling him scared you, because it's been so long since you made a new friend.

But being in the Fatui, did you really deserve to have a friend? A friend who despises the organization you're in?

"I like you." Diluc blurted out, and you froze.

After helping him fight off enemies in the city late at night, you were both resting on Starsnatch Cliff and he just blurted his feelings out.

This is wrong.

"I… I know this is a sudden confession, and I apologize but I just couldn't help it."

This is so wrong... because you like him too.

"I like you too, Diluc."

You looked at him, and you were surprised by the look he gave you. He looked aloof most of the time, but the way he looked at you... it was soft. And it was killing you.

Well… As long as you kept your identity a secret, right?

He smiled and kissed your forehead gently, and you both enjoyed each other's silence.

For the first time, you felt incredibly happy when you and Diluc started dating (secretly).

You always hung out with him whenever he was on his shift at angel’s share (and he would steal a few kisses here and there whenever people weren’t looking… which was always successful. he just couldn’t resist you), and sometimes he would even invite you to his manor.

The past few weeks truly felt like a dream.

But you almost forgot dating him had consequences… like Mikhail finding out when he saw you and Diluc holding hands secretly in the city at night.

“What the hell are you even thinking?! That man is hated by our superiors! Does he even know you’re part of the Fatui? Because once he finds out you might get— tch!” Mikhail was angry; Lyudmila shielded you to prevent him from trying to hurt you.

“No. He doesn’t know.”

Mikhail let out a frustrated sigh. “You have to break it off with him.”

‘I can’t…’ you wanted to say, but you can’t.

So you made up your mind to tell your lover.

You had no choice.

You didn’t know the reason why he hates the Fatui so much… but you knew it was something bad enough that when you brought up topic to him, he said he’d rather be crushed to death by a meteorite than join them.

“Diluc, I have something to tell you.” You were at his manor, and he was currently cleaning up his desk.

“What is it?” He looked at you, smiled, and your heart broke at the sight, “Is there something wrong?”

You were silent for a moment, but before he could respond, you said, “…I’m a member of the Fatui.”

Diluc’s face hardened when you finally told him. He let out a breathy laugh as if you were trying to pull out a ridiculous prank on him.

But when he examined your face to see if you were joking, he realized you weren’t.

“You’re what?”

“I’m sorry, Diluc, I—“

“I didn’t ask for your apology. Why— Archons—“ He felt betrayed. His heart dropped. “So you approached me to what? To spy on me? Is that it?”

“No… no! I didn’t!” On the verge of tears, you tried reaching out to him but he moved away. “I was only stationed here… I-I’m sorry I didn’t tell you I was—“

“You should’ve told me the first time we met, so then I would’ve been smart enough to avoid you.” The look of love he gave you a while ago, turned into hatred. “My father… the Fatui was connected to the reason why he died and I… I can’t believe you—“ he gulped, trying so hard not to cry.

Tears welled up your eyes as you covered your mouth, “I’m sorry… Diluc, I—“

Before you could see the tears in his eyes, he turned away and whispered, “Get out.”

“Diluc—“

“Don’t make me repeat myself.”

You held in your sobs as you left the manor, and once you were far enough, you cried.

it is 2am and i am feeling so much sam winchester love rn so here is a list of taylor swift songs i think resonate with him:

1. Anti-Hero

I feel as tho all the lyrics work towards his character.

Mr. Samuel “It’s me, Hi, I’m the problem it’s me… everybody agrees,” Winchester

I should not be left to my own devices -> Dean constantly implies that Sam shouldn’t be left to figure things out on his own. He does this so much that Sam actually confronts him about it, multiple times.

I wake up screaming from dreaming -> Sam used to wake up from his visions freaked the hell out.

The second verse is also very fitting; he always felt like a freak or monster compared to everyone else.

2. Clean

DEMON BLOOD !!!!!!

I think it works really well for his addiction arc because the song is about toxic relationships (aka RUBY).

The drought being the worst -> Being locked in Bobby’s panic room.

The flowers that we grown together died of thirst -> The powers that grew and developed during his addiction and slowly disappeared when he was sobering.

I screamed so loud but no one heard a thing -> Sam was shouting and banging for hours down in the panic room and no one came to check on him until he was quiet.

Ten months older, I wont give in. Now that i’m clean, I’m never gonna risk it -> He never went back

3. Nothing New

Honestly, the whole reason this song is on the list is because of the lyric:

How can a person know everything at 18, but nothing at 22 -> Sam left for Stanford at 18. That was his first taste of freedom; it was his first time deciding something for himself. He was his own person. He had finally escaped. But, then at 22, Dean came and brought him back in. Jess dies. Everything feels lost again.

In general, I think Sam has lost of teenage girl vibes to him tho. This is probably self projection, but I think its true and this is MY analysis so <3.

4. My Tears Ricochet

This song is about Sam and John’s Stanford fight, and general dynamics that they share.

This one is going to get it’s own in depth, dedicated post <3 but some highlights are:

Even on my worst day, did i deserve, all the hell you gave me -> Sam was a child. No matter how arrogant or frustrating he could be, John should have never been so harsh on him. Telling your kid to never come back just because he wants to go to college is INSANE.

And I can go anywhere I want, just not home -> THIS LINE IS SO AHHHHHHH SAMMY.

Cursing my name, wishing i stayed -> John. John. John. Cursing Sam to never return, while simultaneously wishing he had never left.

Cause when I’d fight you used to tell me I was brave -> Parallel, John telling Sam he being brave on a hunt VS John condescendingly saying Sam was being brave for standing up to him.

You had to kill me, but it killed you just the same -> John realizing that Sam might have to die if nothing changes. John giving that responsibility to Dean by giving his life for Dean’s; selfless selfishness.

5. Mirrorball

Mr. Samuel “And when I break, it’s in a million pieces” Winchester

I’m still on that tightrope, I’m still trying everything to get you laughing at me -> Sam continuously tries to do his best under every circumstance. Even though most of the people around him have such little faith in him. He won’t stop trying.

And I’m still a believer, but I don’t know why -> His faith is God and the stereotypical Christian religion in general throughout the series fascinates me. He has very little reason to keep his faith, but he does. Even in later seasons, I think it was s11, when he prays and believes that Lucifer’s visions are actually messages from God.

I’ve never been a natural, all I do is try try try -> Sam doesn’t actually know what he is doing. He uses his training, but that only can get you so far in mental battles with Lucifer or physical battles with God. He does what he thinks is right. He just wants to help.

6. This Is Me Trying

This is also in the works of developing its own post. Highlights include:

I didn’t know if you’d care if i came back, i have a lot of regrets about that -> Sam never got to know if Dean wanted him back. All that time spent at Stanford he had to wonder if his father and brother actually missed him or not.

Could’ve followed my fears all the way down -> This just screams Lucifer trauma to me

THEY TOLD ME ALL MY CAGES WERE MENTAL, SO I GOT WASTED LIKE ALL MY POTENTIAL -> *violently screams and shakes* The visions, Demon blood, Hallucifer, literally anytime Sam is struggling it is brushed off as him being too worked up about it. Dean literally COMPLAINED to Bobby about how much work it was that Sam was mentally ill. LIKE DUDE.

AND MY WORDS SHOOT TO KILL WHEN IM MAD, I HAVE A LOT OF REGRETS ABOUT THAT -> Sam does say shit that is hurtful. He does shit that is bad. It’s usually out of frustration from someone else’s actions towards him. AKA it’s usually towards Dean, when Dean belittles him.

pouring out my heart to a stranger, BUT I DIDNT POUR THE WHISKEY -> Sam vs Dean (this is NOT me belittling Dean’s alcoholism bc i get he has an issue)

That this is me trying, AT LEAST IM TRYING -> Again, Sam is just doing his best.

And it’s hard to be at a party when I when i feel like an open wound -> Sam has to just behave and go through his life normally even when he is struggling with abandonment, addiction, 180 years of every abuse imaginable and unimaginable, guilt, and just so much suffering.

It ’s hard to be anywhere when all i want is you, you’re a flashback -> Sam’s feelings about Jess. I constantly think about that scene in the impala when he tells Dean that he still thinks about her. It had been like twelve or more years. Its so painful.

@magnolia-sunrise was talking abt their oc voices and asked me abt mine so i'm gonna ramble abt that under the cut yeehaw

for the most part they have unique voices in my brain, whether or not i a) have voiceclaims for them b) can articulate what those voices sound like c) can actually write them with different voices is another story but i'm giving it my best shot jfjdjjdjf

grimm- i answered this ask awhile ago and said i didn't have a voiceclaim for them and that was not entirely true bc the beginning of this song to the ~30 second mark is closeish to what i image their voice to be like. i found this song abt a month before i created honeybee so it's Embedded in my mind as a honeybee song despite it only partially fitting hdfgklfhd (timestamped where the lyrics begin)

basically low with a slight raspiness? breathiness? grimm definitely speaks with more of a drawl/twang/cowboy accent than this singer tho (its singing voice is NOT like this at all btw). it also might have some sort of almost-lisp or sound like it's talking around smthin in it's mouth bc its got bonus fangs and its jaw likes to act up

bc of said fangs it doesn't move it's mouth much when talking so that results in a sort-of mumble. concise when they talk, but not clipped unless the situation calls for it. they'll hold a conversation just fine but they're defs someone you can have a whole conversation with and only realize after the fact that you still know almost nothing about them. also will deliver jokes with a deadpan

yarrow- their voice has actually changed a bit from my initial perception in that ask bc i'd say their voice is actually more mid-range and not low, just a guy who's been on t for several years. don't have any refs off the tops of my head, but they have a situational/varying accent depending on who they're talking to, having grown up in a metropolitan area but moved to a rural one later on- smthin that ranges from a slight drawl/twang to an "average" western american accent. VERY expressive and prone to rambling and talking too fast- he's not unsure of himself when he speaks, just has a lot of thoughts all the time, so he'll backtrack to other ideas and restate things and trail off adhd-style. good at being social, and lot of his charm comes from being polite/knowing when to be nice. has definitely adopted a philosophy of "it's okay if i'm weird because people are fine with it if you're nice"

serena- originally roberta colindrez' performance in alice isn't dead was The Voiceclaim for her but not quite anymore; i think there's defs a quality to her voice in that performance that aligns with serena's voice, but nowadays i imagine her voice to be a little bit lower and rougher (also timestamped)

she's pretty terse when she talks, but serena's funny bc most of her external standoffishness really is just an awkwardness that comes across as more bitchy that she'd like. but also she is Very sarcastic and has a low tolerance for ppl being dumbasses around her, so how fortunate she is to be in the company of chucklefuck 1 and 2 (pyrithaea and vance) for most of the story.

pyrithaea- there's a line in marigold by mother falcon that i animated a few years back and it's pretty solidly Her Voice. higher-pitched and can get annoying to some people, esp bc she talks a lot and too fast (also adhd style). very expressive and at times dramatic when she talks, doesn't have a full-blown "valley girl" accent but it's there

vance- the music video for still feel by half alive has been very intertwined with vance's whole vibe for like six years, and the lead singer's voice is pretty in-line with how i imagine his voice, except vance's voice might sit in his chest a bit more, if that makes sense? also talks a lot, not as fast as rithaea, but more prone to saying things that don't quite make sense hfgkfdhg. also very expressive and dramatic and gay with hints of that same valley girl accent

everything. i can’t choose. she is my favorite idk. Okay but actually once again i enjoy her depth a lot LOL i’ve spoke about it a million times but it will remain true 4ever. i love analyzing her behavior ohhh omg i just love her growth in general from s2 -> s5… she initially used to recoil at even the idea of romance, especially with a GIRL, but in s5 she could tell biff to his face that she’s a lesbian and that’s just so. The only competent worker besides the butler, smart/diligent/hard working but still pleasant to be around, but slowly she has worked her way into the earls heart as someone he ‘begrudgingly’ cares about. You’ve always thought that even though he’s no longer a child, your young master deserves some kind of maternal presence.

It’s difficult as you don’t want to be presumptive, but… he seems to have accepted you as that presence. At least in a way. Your singing brightens the household, so much so that once in a while he actually takes a break simply in order to have a cup of tea and listen to you.

SEBASTIAN keeps you well under his thumb, as well, though he doesn’t have to watch you as closely as he does the other servants. You do your job dutifully and with almost as much perfection as the butler himself. All else aside, you think he’s proud of you. Whatever else is true, he seems to enjoy your serenades just as much as everyone else.

The rest of the staff handle combat quite easily; you’ve seen them do that. They protect the earl from every outside threat which comes for him. Sometimes you don’t know how you fit with the rest of them, because you’re not a fighter.

Then comes the night when you realize that you’re not here to protect CIEL from intruders ― you’re here to protect him from the parts of his mind that try to swallow him whole.

It starts when you open your eyes to find Sebastian at your bedside, with a careful hand on your shoulder. All it takes is for him to whisper, “Apologies, my lady, but the young master has requested your presence,” for you to be hurrying to your feet and slipping on a robe so that you’re dressed in more than your nightgown as you follow him.

It’s never happened before. You’ve never been woken in the early hours of the morning and summoned to Ciel’s room, and for what reason? It scares you a bit, concerned that something must be wrong.

When you enter the room, it becomes clear that your worries are correct. The sheets are a mess, except for the comforter which is bunched up at the foot of the bed… presumably, that’s the image of your master wrapped up in it. He’s still short and slight even as an adult, and it appears he’s attempting to make himself as small as possible at the moment.

Worse yet, you realize that you haven’t ever heard the sound of him sobbing until now. You’ve been with him for years, and this is the first time you’ve heard your master cry.

There he is, the Earl of Phantomhive, curled up under his bedclothes, hiding and wailing like a hurt child.

In a way, you suppose that’s what he’s been ever since you met him, and that’s what he’s remained, because he’s found nothing to help him heal.

Your gaze shifts briefly to Sebastian, seized by the urge to grab his arms in fear. You’ve never seen Ciel quite like this before. Does Sebastian really think you know what to do? Shouldn’t you be asking him?

“He refuses anything I offer.” The butler’s voice is kept low as he gives you the only explanation he can. “I admit I told a little white lie in saying that he requested you, my lady, and I sincerely apologize for that… but… I’m at a loss. My thought was that you might be able to calm him. Perhaps with a song?”

Then you look back to Ciel. The young man is trembling beneath the comforter, and you can see his hands clutching, gripping, unsure whether to pull it closer or throw it off entirely. It looks, however, like he’s terrified that something awful will happen if he leaves his hiding place.

You don’t know everything about what’s happened to your poor master. What you do know is that he’s been through hell and came back standing as tall as he possibly could.

But you don’t think it made him stronger. It was himself who made him stronger. You think what he’s been through just hurt.

Does Sebastian really think a simple lullaby can be of any comfort?

Still, you take a few steps, and tentatively kneel at the side of the bed, near the end where Ciel is sat. “My lord,” you say softly. Just to get his attention. Just to draw his focus to you, so that maybe his mind will throw away the focus he has on everything which has hurt him. “I’m here. Can you hear me?”

You can see his eyes from inside the comforter. One of them glows. The one he always covers, burning like some pink flame in the night, with a pattern you can’t make out. Now’s not the time to ask, because there’s terror in them both, and he seems to be looking through you. “I… I can… who are you? I don’t…”

“It’s just me. It’s (Name).” Part of you thinks it should hurt that he doesn’t recognize you. It’s a tiny part, though. He’s caught somewhere between a memory and the present; you can’t blame him for being confused. “It’s only Sebastian and I here. It’s alright.”

You should have expected, perhaps, that when you reached your hand toward him, he would smack it away as he does. The fear reignites, its message clear ― even though he knows who you are, he’s afraid of being hurt. “Don’t touch me!” Twin rivers make their way down his face, dripping down onto the bed, his eyes pleading with you.

“… Don’t…” His voice comes out quieter after that. As if he didn’t truly mean to snap at you, but the thought of touch right now is unbearable. “Please… don’t touch me…”

Instantly your hands are held up, away from him, showing that you aren’t going to try that again. “I won’t, I won’t. I promise.”

He’s crying and breathing so hard, you’re anxious he might work himself into an asthma attack. So you perch one hand on the board at the end of the bed, and set the other on the mattress in front of him. “Ciel…” Maybe if you speak to him as if he’s your son instead of your master. That’s how you think of him. That might be what he needs at the moment. “May I sing to you?”

A series of shuddering breaths makes his frame shake. That you’ve offered seems to make more tears fall. “W… would you…?”

You begin to hum quietly, a sound which could almost be mistaken for a violin playing the melody of your lullaby. So many of them you’ve collected over the years, but this one special for the simple fact that you speak your mother tongue within it.

“A naoidhean bhig, cluinn mo ghuth,”

you start; a flawless soprano that some people have likened to a goddess or a faerie. It floats high above the rest of the world and acts as a gossamer blanket. A shield unlike the one Sebastian offers. Much gentler, see-through, delicate as silk and strong as steel.

“Mise ri d’ thaobh, Ó mhaighdean bhàn ar rìbhinn òg, fàs a’s faic do thìr, dìleas fhéin…”

The song and your voice wrap him up in security. Not so loose that he doesn’t feel safe, not so tight that he feels restricted. It settles over him like a dusting of snow, and it brings back better memories.

Memories of sitting by the fireplace at night, then being carried back to his room. A kiss on his forehead. A pair of arms encircling him within a larger bed than his own. A hand rubbing up and down his back to ease his coughing. A warm blanket when cold winter winds would rattle the windows.

Things which have been lost.

Things which he could have again, if only he would reach out for them.

Things which existed in his mother, and which also exist in you.

It’s like you’re watching him come back to life, back into himself, back into the present. He remembers where he is and who he is and what’s going on.

You meet his eyes, and you can see it ― he knows he’s safe.

Thin fingers creep out from within the comforter… setting on top of where yours are resting. He holds your hand with as much strength as he can muster right now, as if he thinks you might vanish if he holds too tightly.

As soon as you give him a tender smile, he shifts wholly. His body slips off of the bed, bringing the comforter with him as he pushes down into your embrace. He’s still unsteady, thready breaths puffing against your neck as you pull him in.

Your arms hold him gingerly; aware that the hurt child inside him is screaming to you for comfort. You take all of it, the anger and the pain underneath it, and you let it all collapse against you.

Whatever Ciel might ever admit to, he needs you. He needs to be taken care of. He can’t do it all on his own like he’s been trying to ever since you met him.

If what he needs in this moment is for you to hold every single part of him that aches, you’ll do it.

When he opens his mouth, too exhausted to do anything else, it’s a whispered few notes that come out.

“Naoidhean bhig, ar rìbhinn òg…”

he echoes you tiredly. His voice just barely the rasp of a song, with the fear not quite gone from his eyes, he lets them fall closed. At least trusting that even if he’s scared, you’re not going to let anything hurt him, even the ghosts of things which have already hurt him.

“Mhaighdean uasal bhàn,”

you finish, final breaths against the crown of his head.

Nothing can harm him.

Not as long as you’re here.

You won’t let it.

I saw you decided on the title song 😁 I was listening to it on repeat a few months ago 😄 I wonder tho if these lyrics are connected to Pete or Vegas. Or maybe just a general expression for this chapter?

I always try to think which of the boys would feel that way or say this to each other. The problem is, most of these are fitting both of them lol.

Although "Can you talk me of the ledge again?" reminds me so much of Vegas suicidal tendencies. Also Vegas is the one who would beg Pete to stay. But I think inside Pete begged Vegas to not leave him alone with all this.

Anyway. I'm so ready for the new chapter!!

Also I recommend you to listen to Another Life by Motionless In White.

This one is living rent free in my head and can be both narrated by Vegas or Pete but I lean towards Pete more. I won't copy any lyrics here cause I would paste all of it 🤣 There is so much to say! The ending of the song could be a point you mentions where Pete realizes he doesn't hate that he needs Vegas as well ❤️‍🩹

Hello!! Yes!! I totally get it it’s an amazing song and I’ve been replaying it a lot since I saw them in concert recently (they were incredible). That’s defs the song and the lyrics are definitely connected to Vegas and his headspace at the moment which in hindsight seems funny considering the chap is from Pete’s pov hahahahh. But let’s be fair Pete is pretty worried about his mental state atm (and there are defs discussions of that with his grandma including his suicidal tendencies like it hasn’t fully been talked about between the two of them beside that moment at the pool but what Vegas nearly did to himself really shook Pete up and needs to be addressed between them)

Yeah a lot of the songs are interchangeable so i can get how it’d be hard to figure out who it’s about- and even harder cause if for example the song might cover Pete’s pov the lyrics are usually about Vegas 😂 but yeah this one is defs about Vegas’ mental state poor guy ☺️

I will never shut up about them and Vampire Empire by Big Theif. I think about them everytime i listen to it, honestly. So, this, as I see it, if from Mike's perspective, talking about Octavian, more specifically Blood of Olympus era.

🔥 absolutely LOVES spooky and scary things!!

🔥 actually chose his host after seeying them get bullied really severly and at first Ecto was like "hmm sinners, free food" but later realized his host was okay with him as they turned out to be very lonely and liked someone to talk to (even tho said someone is a flaming skeleton entity ready to burst out and melt their insides...can you see how poor the host their friend choices are?? XD)

🔥 Secret favorite movie is Van Helsing but claims it's sh!t if you ask him

🔥 Dislikes people who think he's not scary, got really upset when some other ghost riders claimed he wasn't scary at all

🔥 Actually very protective of his host!? Like he'll see people do something like say the host is being a whimp for crying about a movie or just look at them oddly and he will glady take control and yeet the person to hell

🔥 Favorite music tastes are rock, metal and to everyone's suprise Electro swing

🔥 Likes to take over when his host has horror movie nights with friends to jumpscare them

🔥 From all the horror movies he suprisingly dislikes ghost movies, his host suspects they might hit a tad too close to home..

🔥 Has definitly had to scare off ghost hunters after hanging around a certain area too much

I felt like that sentence felt familiar before i realized that you titled chp 4 by “i want my life in two” AND somehow the cycle of that two different lives are oddly similar ?? Like how mirai found someone that she likes (chi & okkotsu) ; that someone was taken away (the kamo clan & the villagers) ; she went on a rampage (trashing around the small shed & the village massacre)

chp 4 ends with = (A finger stuck itself into the series of tapes, starting to wind it back.) and as the summary for chp 7 goes : The stories that unfolded each time, however, as of late, did tend to be quite a bit different. Perhaps because of one character that did not quite belong with the rest. (1) Gojou Satoru.

YOU YOU YOU MIND BLOWER AHHHHHHH. I love love how you do this thing with naming the chapters that follows the theme of the story u wrote, it may seem like a minor detail but i rlly rlly love it omfg like

atcit : the mc’s rule of threes

memos : hoku as a protagonist has a goal to paint the best story and if u combine the title of the current chapters together and it can already form a prologue of a story which coincides that hoku just joined the strawhats and is painting for the strawhats’ journey

kapfm : mirai is essentially stuck in a loop/ limbo of a monotonous life (even tho it involves more than plenty of adrenaline for sorcerers & non sorcerers) and theyre not even bothered to think much of it unless its rly rly important for the future/ whatever that is in scope in their curse technique and someone new in their latest lifetime who seems like he wont ever fit in her standard script of life. and not only that but, some chapters may seemed like it mirrored the other but its not !!! like one of those games of finding the abnomalies in 2 similar pictures and its bc of that one ridiculous op guy 😭

hmmmmmm how should i put it, ik that its 2 entirely different series and themes but mirai and hoku is actually a good foil for each other SHJSJSJS dunno if anyone else noticed and may sent sth about them both in an ask

Like, mirai’s ability to see the future and is convinced that it is set and even if it changed it wont necessarily be a good thing for everyone involved; and it wont be an exeption to the strongest sorceror in the new era vs hoku’s plan to draw the best story in a world and the boy who she is convinced could overcome his predecessor (i.e gold roger) but that conviction itself it sth that has been set from the very beginning bc luffy is the protagonist and she thought of herself as a bystander and wont make sth as small as ripple

i probably didnt explain any of my thought even tho i just wrote a paragraph HSHSHSJSH IM SORRY BUT TLDR-ing MY THOUGHTS ABT THEM THIS WAY = once u open a book, the stage and ending has been set for the characters, theyre essentially “doomed” to that ending; no matter how much you flip the coin it will always land on tails/ heads and it will always be one of them and never be other but for the one who flip the coin, they may ruled out themselves out of the possibility that they’re (one of) the anomaly and could change sth around them
