I liked trust the process of where the story is going before they martyred my guy point fucking blank man. Like I will still trust the narrative, I guess. I fucking suppose, but I won’t be happy about it if he’s not at minimum a ghost or something like the other deaths (minus Ivan but that was his actor not getting brought back for s2 for I don’t know if we even know why) have been like one off characters who were jokes or racist imperialist assholes, and Izzy’s not one of those, like he’s not the mentor he’s not been the mentor for decades, he’s the ex, at fucking best he’s the unrequited lover. He had the nice arc too if he didn’t have that I’d go okay yeah I get it he’s mildly gay coded and miserable he can have a pointless death or whatever and get old fucking yeller-ed. But this is a romantic fucking comedy, no one dies except when it’s a joke and I don’t think anyone thought that was a good one.
I am currently back burnering two wips to run a jokey he’s fine fic, so watch for that one I’m healing my own soul with it it’s hilarious, I am also gonna work on the wip I was sitting on till the season ended and rework my mildly connected sequel. Fucks sake, happened fucking twice now first I go aw man he got rid of his leathers, now it’s yay the leathers are intact I can use them for kink purposes he’s not chucked them again, but they did chuck Izzy and I was gonna (am gonna. He’s probably fine. Probably. He’s got buttons to save his ass. Probably.) steddy hands the s3 speculation of horny and emotional awareness

💭 how about for heather thoughts on jestiny? and/or jenna? :3c
Oh the chaos, oh the dynamic here. Two "what is wrong with That Guy" gals who are also fucked up but in different directions and have wildly different feelings about That Guy,,
Heather stirred her glass in a slow motion, her sharp green eyes zoned in on the rather off-putting redhead at the bar. Heather hadn't torn her gaze off of her from the moment she stumbled into the Spread Eagle with wild eyes ablaze and her, 'interesting', outfit dirtied and disheveled. She would admit the dismayed look on Mary May's face as she faced the onslaught of whatever utter nonsensical rant the junior deputy started on was amusing, but she was starting to get an earache.
A familiar name slips from the redhead's lips however and Heather's ears begin to burn. That molten wrath tickling at her throat and her hand froze, well, now she was interested in hearing what she was saying—It didn't sound like anything good. Wonderful.
"Rook was it?"
Heather slides into the stool beside her gracefully, every movement carefully calculated as she leans against the bar and tilts her head down to meet those enpassioned eyes. She can't deny the curve of her jaw and slope of her button nose make for an attractive face, but those wild eyes and defensive posture tell's Heather all she needs to know. A wild card, not to be underestimated.
"I promise I wasn't eavesdropping," She didn't have to, with her volume everyone in Fall's End would have heard her, "but I couldn't help but hear you talking about John and I couldn't agree more. What is his deal?" Heather smiles as the deputy's mouth drops open and she nods wordlessly, head snapping to Mary May to insure she saw her moment of vindication.
"That's what I'm saying!"
She was going to be a problem.
And oooooh Heather's thoughts on Jenna,, I'm getting two cats staring at each other and sussing each other out vibes,, ,
Heather can feel her dark eyes burning into the side of her head, joined by John's own frustrated stare aimed at her more head on. She keeps a pleasant smile plastered on her face, despite her want to turn and tell Faith's other half to find something else to study during this already uncomfortable 'family' dinner.
Heather didn't know why Joseph invited her, but it was a step closer to her goal and she wouldn't pass up the opportunity to dig further into his good graces. Jenna obviously didn't understand why she was invited either—she was only freshly made a sort of sub-herald under John, her expertise proving useful enough to grant her the position.
She hoped as long as she stayed away from the Henbane and her affairs she'd leave her to her own.
A position not everyone at the table thought she deserved. And by that, really only Joseph thought she did. She was quite aware of the fact and Jenna had been passively blatant about her opinion, her blunt words when they were first introduced still dug a seed of irritation in Heather's stomach. She was smart and annoyingly perceptive, Heather was sure she could see through her facade and yet so far she hadn't interfered with her aside from stray hostile remarks.

Hm. Something I’ve been thinking about (since I never shut up about Miguel apparently) is the idea that maybe there’s not supposed to be, to his understanding of what happened, a singular canon event that he breaks when dipping dimensions, it’s more the idea that he “breaks” canon by no longer being present to carry out his own canon events, by wanting something outside of what was apparently predestined to him, and the universe punished him for it.
I broke [canon] once myself, he says, but he doesn’t name the event even as the examples he pulls up are labelled.
Perhaps the “event”, as the characters perceive it, could just be something as simple as by virtue of replacing alt!Miguel he negated the intended effect of the man’s death upon the world around him.
But I just wonder. Because the way Miguel speaks of this to Miles portrays his own wanting for something different as being what he thinks invoked that destruction.
“We all want to live the life we wish we had, believe me I’ve tried. And the harder I tried, the more damage I did. You can’t have it all, kid.”
I wanted something more, but Spider-Man’s fate is set. Any and all events, regardless of their nature. And defying that fate, trying to live a life beyond what it asked of me killed people.
If you alter your course from canon in any way, you hurt people.
