Happy Weekend all :) This one was very fun to review for me. Its one of my fav eps of s1. Such good content for Chenford and Lucy. Non stop goodness from beginning to end. Had to take some screen shots with my phone while watching cause there wasn't a gif for everything. Luckily have new phone so they came out pretty nice. TON of moments and I only get 30 gif/image limit which I hit quickly and felt on this one haha Lets delve in shall we?

1x14 Plain Clothes Day

First off Tim in street clothes? Yum. Gimme. I’ll take that all day. Plus he’s in a Henley too whew lord. What a distraction to have haha Second you can see he’s already fully enjoying himself. Ah plain clothes day. I’m sure Tim has been looking forward to this for awhile. They all look so excited. Lucy is as amped as the other two to make decisions solo. Well that is until Tim opens his mouth.... He is very eager to get under her skin. Asking her what she's looking at? That he's not even there...

You can see the nerves written all over Lucy’s face now. All she wants is to prove herself to him and this is her biggest opportunity to do so. You can see how uneasy she is while the other two still seem psyched af. Oh the amount you will grow in this episode Lucy. You have no idea.

All the T.O.’s start to talk bout their wash out numbers on PCD behind them. Tim saying his is in the double digits by now. 11 to be exact. Tim is an ass and says he’s looking to making it an even dozen today. (Like he would ever actually want that... please Timothy why you always lying? ) Lucy’s discomfort only continues to grow. Poor thing. It’s clearly a tactic to get under all their skins, sadly working on Lucy more so than the others atm.

Lucy is loading up the shop when Tim pulls out an envelope. She sees it has her name on it and asks what he’s doing? Tim informs her that he already filled out her eval. Lucy looks confused as hell saying they haven’t even started yet. How could he possibly have her eval done? Determined to be under her skin and live there today, Tim tells her he already knows how this day will end. So mean good sir so mean..

Lucy is refusing to let him psych her out, but then gets in the passenger side LOL Oh my girl it's gonna be a long day for you haha. He does say Thank you when she leaves the passenger door open for him though ha

Tim hands her the envelope. She is not allowed to look at it till end of shift. I do love her tenacity/confidence after he does this. Lucy has gained back some in this moment. Telling Tim she’s gonna prove him wrong with whatever he wrote about her. As I said earlier she wants so badly prove herself to him. Even if she has to puff herself up in order to do it. Wants Tim to see her bravado before they head out.

Sadly it doesn't last long. Its his mission to rattle her cage as much as possible today. He goes and squashes that confidence out the gate. Because Tim be Tim. The fact that he knows Lucy this damn well is backfiring on her hard. Instead of leaving the garage confident she leaves deflated.

Doesn’t take long for Lucy to find her first criminal of the day. A perv pretending to be a cable guy filming a woman in her house. I do love Tim watch her during it all. The way he silently observes as she handles it. Her taking that guy out with her door was pretty bad ass. Trying right off the bat to show him she’s capable. Lucy is feeling pretty damn proud of herself atm. Caught a pervy guy early on and thinking she has totally got this. That look from Tim is so very telling as Lucy puts that guy in their shop. It's a 'We'll see.' as she puts away their criminal.

Speaking of criminal It should be to look this damn good leaning against a van. Even though Tim is being smug af in this scene, he looks fine as hell just standing there. Ovary explosion for me haha that badge, his Henley riding up over it. *fans self* Eric you’re so attractive it’s not fair haha

Lucy starts rattling off her checklist before they leave. Making sure she's done everything right. Tim is clearly trying to get her to notice the van for which he is leaning on. It’s for more than just looking sinfully delicious. He’s trying to get her to put two and two together and finish this scene up properly. He has his phone in his hands for a reason. Just in case she doesn't pick up on the clue he's trying to emit to her. Lucy senses something but she isn't sure what.

He gives her ‘the look’ the one Lucy has learned and seen for months. The one he gives her when he is trying to get her to think a little more. This is his other way of trying to get her to connect the dots. Now Lucy notices he’s giving her his 'Bradford' look. She just isn’t sure why....

Lucy finally says they’re all wrapped up confidently. That this is a solid arrest. Trying to prove to him she did a good job on her own. Tim pushes off the van as his last ditch effort to get her to notice it. Lucy sadly doesn’t do this or realize what she is leaving behind. Her body language is reading she isn't sure of herself now and no idea why but leaves anyways.

They make it to back to the station and Lucy pulls out the eval when she’s alone. Or thinks she is. Naturally Tim knew she was going to open it early. He knows her like the back of his hand. It’s not the real eval and he catches her. Uses this as a opportunity to tell her about the van she left behind. Tim goes over how she left a treasure trove of evidence on the street. Didn’t process the scene as throughly as she should’ve. Or thought she did. That he saw this coming because he knows everything she is going to do. Lucy panics and checks the pervs phone in evidence and sees he’s texted a friend to get his van.

She rushes back to the scene only to find it gone. Lucy calls it in and finds out it was impounded. Tim had it taken care of for her. Hence the phone in his hand the entire time he was near the van. Teaching her a lesson without actually getting her in trouble for missing evidence. It was a stressful adrenaline rush for Lucy to go back, but she’ll never forget to do that again. She may not think he was taking care of her in the moment but he is. Lucy thinks he’s doing it to humiliate her. She's so frustrated she is lashing out at him.

He explains he did it this way cause she overlooked a massive detail. That he is teaching her to control her environment, be detail oriented and honestly she will never ever forget this. It’s rough for her but like everything else, Tim is challenging her like this because he knows she will rise to the occasion. Lucy wouldn’t have remembered this if he had just handed it to her. She is rattled and annoyed. This is a rough rough start to her plain clothes day.

They move onto Lucy’s next call. It’s for a noise complaint for a dog. Lucy tries to calm the dog down and the dog barks at her. Tim comments this isn’t what he meant by her ‘controlling her environment. ’ The guy Akers is a douche and not good to his dog. Honestly I would’ve wanted to verbally eat him too tbh. I’m with Lucy on wanting to take this guy down. You’re mean to animals something seriously wrong with you IMO. Animal lover in me was rooting Lucy on in this scene. She tells him she's going to make him her 'Personal Pet project' leaving both Tim and Akers stunned.

The way she says that line what a BAMF. Also lets talk about the look on Tim’s face. It’s a mixture of impressed and a little bit of ‘Why am I turned on right now?’ Baha You know he didn’t hate seeing her with some serious confidence after that first crime scene. That attraction for him with her for sure growing in this moment. Sadly even though she feels justified with what she said it comes back to bite her in the ass. She over compensated and threatened the man while trying to prove herself after the van incident. They are called to Grey's office with some bad news.

Akers has decided to call in a rude conduct complaint on Lucy. His way of getting her back for putting him in his place. You can see how visibly upset Tim is over this. Grey tells them he called it in saying she threatened him. To be fair he made the first threat but she’s supposed to be better than him. Being the bigger person always sucks and is never fun. Lucy now faces possible firing and washing out. IA has been notified and Lucy looks devastated.

They go to lunch and she of course is freaking out she’s gonna get bounced. Talia and Tim are talking about it as well. She asks why didn't Tim step in if Lucy threatened the guy. He says its cheating and he is a man of principals after all. Talia is actually very worried Lucy could get terminated. Its then you see that protective side of Tim come out. Saying he won’t allow her to get fired. That this guy is a jerk but there is no way he would let anything happen to her. Plain clothes day or not.

Talia calls him out on that, she thought he was a man of ‘principles’. He of course is going to contradict himself for Lucy. Like in previous ep when Tim said circumstances dictate his actions. Well he’s not going to let this ass hat take her career principles be damned. Any other rookie he would've let wash out. Or even been ok with that. Not Lucy. He wants her to succeed so badly. Everything is different with her. He would go against his principles to save her. That is the thing of importance to note here.

This is the second best scene the entire episode for them. Tim refuses to let his schmuck get her fired. Lucy say's they shouldn't be back here. This guy filed a complaint against her. Tim tells her she's not he is. He’s bending his own rules to save her job. By saying she 'made' the decision to have him save her career. Sneaky sneaky Tim, good way around your own rule.

Lucy recognizes he’s going to bat for her here. That he's had her return them to this house so he can fix it. Tim is going to scrape and claw to keep her from washing out. Even if it means taking on the complaint himself instead of her. I don’t think Lucy has ever had anyone believe in her or protect her the way Tim does. Now at this point in time we don’t know her parents. Or the emotional damage they’ve inflicted upon her. But if you do you can see why this would mean so much to her. It’s a career her parents don’t want for her and were hoping she would give up on, and here is this man who believes in her and is willing to fight to keep her around.

Tim can’t expose too much vulnerability in this moment. So he deflects her appreciation for what he’s willing to do for her. Says if she’s going to be fired it’ll be because of him. The irony of that statement in this moment. Such a small but impactful moment for them. It’s what makes Chenford great. All these small moments that add up to what makes them so damn incredible in first place. That foundation being laid.

The chat doesn’t go in Tim’s favor at all. Acker says he’s going to file a complaint against Tim too. He returns to the car and tells her drive. Lucy notices the dog crying at the garage and pacing. They see blood on it and Lucy says she has probable cause to check. Tim tells her if she’s wrong she will definitely get fired. That this is her call to make though. Lucy doesn’t hesitate in going to check the garage. Acker sees her and tries to stop her.

They open the garage and find the body of his neighbor. Guy tries to take Lucy out. She takes him down easily and Tim looks on impressed as hell with her. Not only for that takedown but her initiative and going with her gut in the moment. She noticed the blood on the garage and knew something was wrong. Then made the right call when the moment called for it. That’s all Tim wanted her to do all day. Trust her gut. He knows she’s a great cop He just needs her to believe that. His goal was to build her self esteem and he did.

This final scene really seals the deal for the building of that self assurance. Tim knows right now she needs some comfort. So he has Lucy read her evaluation. Lucy thinks it’s the end of the road for her so what’s the point? He needs her to know how well she did today. Not the whole day mind you but she was clutch at the end. Lucy is only going to remember what she did wrong today not what she did right. Tim knows this about her. Why he makes her read it. To him it’s not how you start it’s how you finish and she finished strong as hell.

Tim is very attuned to what Lucy needs and when. At this moment in time she needs comfort, and words of assurance. He compliments her for the first time really. Lets her know yeah her day started off really rough. But when the chips were down she didn’t hesitate. She made the right call when it mattered and he knew she would. He is dying for Lucy to see what he see's in her. This scene is the start of that. The start of her believing in herself as a cop. Because when the pressure came at her she was strong, self assured and kicked that situation in the face.

Tim knows this is not the time to hold back what he thinks of her. To put away the tough ass T.O. in this moment. He’s so damn proud of her and wants her to know it. After he's built her up he tries to lighten the moment for her. Makes his little shot of 'Now he has to rewrite the damn thing.' Cause she proved him wrong. He wants to make her smile before her meeting with the Capt. He would never tell her as much but he’s probably so relieved and happy to do re-do her eval. Their foundation is so damn solid I can’t get over it. He believes in her so much. It’s why he pushes her the way he does. I know he thinks she’s exceptional he just needs Lucy to start believing that.

The ending is perfect. The work flirts continue but this time on Lucy’s end. She walks over to Tim and hands him an envelope. Tells him it’s her evaluation of him. Tim tells her that’s not how it works. Lucy replies ‘If you don’t want to read it don’t.’ and cooly walks away. Lucy ushers the boys out before Tim can open it. When he does he realizes it’s their bar tab LOL just like in 1x06 when she steals his wallet he’s too impressed to actually be mad haha such a good episode for them top to bottom.

So my friend is back in town atm and thusly today I've got an actual social event for the first time in forever (apart from family things) I am tentatively planning to attend and the layout of the day should be pretty straightforward (tho I can already suspect how I may fuck it up like I have in countless days past due to hyperfocus and rambling and not being privy to the concept of realistic passage of time), here is the order:

Coffee, 6am ✓

Meds breakfast, 9.30am ✓

Eat egg, now ASAP

Second coffee ASAP

Possibly do some more work on my drawing WIP (let's clothe this curvy baddie)

Shower - wash hair, exfoliate, shave legs

Message friend (host of drinks) confirming the details that have been thus far somewhat vague - but manage not to get swept into a full-blown conversation that takes up all the get-ready time my (actually) autistic ass requires.

Drink small energy drink

Makeup and a few wines - go all out with a planned eye lewk (do rest of face if time - but then again it's a gamble because I am a noob when it comes to complexion makeup like foundation and don't have a tried-and-true safe product - and I wanna look impressive and not like a massive (scaly orange) dick in front of some of these people forecast to be in attendance, whom I haven't seen since high school)

Make way over to friend's house

I was meant to wash hair yesterday but I only managed to have a quick shower, ain't nobody got time for this mop when running late. So now I've got the weight of All the big Shower tasks (washing hair and shaving takes it out of me, and sometimes takes so long it makes the water run cold)

I tried to get my other bff the Swede to come with me but I don't think he's up to it atm.

I was fretting about being asked the questions dreaded when you are as yet unemployed/disabled such as "what do you do for money" - sometimes they will begin with "what do you do" and when you describe your passions and hobbies they tack on "ah yes, but what do you do for money/how do you earn a living" -but apparently being so blunt is actually a bit rude. Though I am used to neurotypical/allistic etc folks being rude af despite them thinking I am Bad and they can do no wrong. There's a certain double-standard/hypocrisy against us that doesn't get talked about enough, but anyway I'm starting to segue hard now.

But I think if their wording is vague I can get away with responding with some of the mountains of other things I do besides normal employment ventures. I am possibly the most passionate person in the world so thar shouldn't be a negative thing, it should be celebrated. I may be too darn tired to do my own most of the time, but my passion for the arts (yes all of them: fine art, photography, sculpture, fashion/costume design, writing, film-making etc - even dream interpretation, I thrive making arts/creating) is kinda unrivalled

The health improvement practitioner I met with for the first time on Tuesday encouraged me to do some homework for it of practicing responses to likely questions so I feel confident and don't back out on the day.

Socializing is hard, and I don't know how to mask anymore. I need a Jennifer Cook (Love on the Spectrum US), but at least I am armed with her advice that you don't have to always fill silence (with inane chatter, using nearly literally anything as a talking point - it's frustrating/upsetting having that out-of-body experience, watching as you persist in fucking up regular interactions babbling. Sometimes I even run out of breath talking so much)

Sincerely an anxious, autistic schizospec a bit too used to her own company (god i love being alone majority of the time, at least I've got that because some people can't actually stand their own company for more than like 5 seconds) and prone to saying the wrong thing. I will never be "normal" everyone just face it.

Well, this actually turned out to take nearly an hour to type out lol I do love myself a helathy dose of self-sabotage. But I guess at least I always have a headstart as a chronic early bird, my friends can sleep in till midday if they're not careful. Longest I can sleep in is like 7am or if I'm really lucky 8am - but those days are far and few between, I am a severely underslept insomnia queen

I'm the moving out anon hahah I'm 2 days into being in my uncles house and its crazy emotionally atm😅 i mean i feel so safe and he doesnt shout?? he asks nicely if he wants me to do something and like REALLY doesnt care if i make a mess? and doesnt care if i nap?? all things that would make my parents go ballistic hahha. yesterday I made some chicken and pasta for the first time ever and i dont really know how to work a cooker/stove thing nor am i too confident around boiling water lol (mum never let me do these things) i was throwing the pasta in the pan cos i didnt wanna pour it and get the water on me and he was in there and he just..didnt care that i was missing a lot lol like at all. he knew i was gonna clean it up hahha but i didnt do too great with the food i forgot a lot of things cos the time constraints of the food was making me kinda panic a little so i think ive gotta do some extra beginner stuff 😂😂 when he comes in my room he knocks and talks at a normal volume or quieter, and its just so relaxing. when we are going out shopping or smth, he sets a time then leaves me alone then comes in my room at the time and is calm af the whole time and we set off and hes just calm??? idk i feel like its a whole shock to my system atm hahaha im waiting for the other shoe to drop constantly even though i trust him enough to never be like that (like ever its not his thing to be explosive lol) will i get used to this in time? im sleepy a lot too like just exhausted hahah its crazy but these are 'normal' reactions, right?

Hi, nonnie! Sorry for the late reply. I'm so glad you were able to move in with someone who is so calm and who can provide you such a safe and normal space to live in!

This shock you're describing is really common when you've been abused, and when you have PTSD in general. It's like your body just cannot compute with the feeling of safety, and has to constantly anticipate the moment when the other person will finally snap, because that anticipation is the only thing that has kept you safe till now.

It does get better, though, and I hope it has for you since you sent this ask! Time, as well as more and more moments when the right people show you that they're not going to explode no matter what, will eventually, slowly teach your body that it doesn't need to be hypervigilant to be safe. Therapy can help, too, and just being aware of what you're going through and being patient with yourself can make a huge difference.

I've personally found that I have to repeat this process almost every time a new authority figure appears in my life. This can be really frustrating, and scary, because the feeling of fear and hypervigilance you thought you had overcome suddenly comes rushing back. But it does get easier over time, and there will come a day when you'll naturally expect people to be kind and respectful, and when the opposite—aggression and disrespect—will feel shocking and unexpected.

I love a good list and that’s all I have brain for atm SO other than the last two prompts for MM & Sam being wrekt week, the WIPs I want to go back to are:

AU Hunter/prey fic with Tasya, Valerius, and Donna 🤭 I started it at the peak of my Lady D thirst and I really should finish it. I got through all of the build up, now is just the spicy bits lmao

I am going to force myself to finish the Sam/Nasrin fic even though I am now deeply insecure about it LMFAO again, I really just need to get to the spice, but 😵‍💫

Sam/Valerius fic where Sam chokes Val with his braid and Valerius (regrettably) enjoys it a lot. Things get weird & intense before they got really kinky LMAO

Sam & Nadia bond over siblings, family expectations, running away from home and craving it all the same, and horses!

I do want to go back to the kinktober fics. I psyched myself out way too much, and MM has really helped boost my confidence :’) I enjoyed the plans I made and I have a lot written that I never posted so that may be a long term summer project

So, how did you end up in this situation you might ask?

Good question.

You put yourself in it

You had a mental fight with yourself, over if you should or shouldn't confess to your own best friend

There were a good amount of pros and cons to this, so you were a bit skeptical

And then a certain tik tok came to mind

All those happy best friends kissing eachtoher were all over your fyp, like they were hinting at something

So, listening to the universe for once, you decided to do it

You invited them to your house to hangout, asked them to film a silly little tik tok for funzies

And went for the kill (not actually lol)

I feel like he'd either know of the tik tok, cause man knows his stuff, or he just has the confidence

But he'd definitely kiss you back the second you kiss him

No doubt, no second guessing, just straight out kiss back

One of his hands would snake behind your neck to hold you closer, and so you wouldn't pull back if you were caught off guard

What Does It Mean?

SF9 Kim Inseong x Reader + Lee Jaeyoon x Reader Summary: You were the shining example of oblivious. Perhaps, it was more accurately, insecure, ever since your confidence got spat on by your ex. Regardless, you were mostly just blind to the advances of the two cutest guys in the world. Word Count: 2k+ Warnings: University AU, fluff, angst, reader dumb af, pining, jealousy, love triangle, typos, etc.

A/N: I REALIZED ACTUALLY I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE REQUEST I HAVE IS AND LITERALLY AGREED JUST COS IT WAS FOR JAEYOON AND INSEONG HAHAHAH LOL anyway wtf is a platonic significant other ??? you guys be wilding huh HAHHAA. Anyway anon, I hope you enjoy the way i spun your request hekhek

It doesn't actually matter what I feel.

What mattered was I know that they could not feel that way about me.

These last few days were crazy. Our dorm went on lockdown due to a spike of cases in our area and we were going through an impending decision of whether or not on-campus activities would be continued since the term was ending anyway.

Feelings toward this decision was split because our area had just gotten back to being somewhat normal. I personally didn't mind whatever decision was going to happen because I trusted whatever decision would be made was going to do be for the best, though I was going to miss the benefits that came with being able to go outside again.

And by the way, I meant I knew that neither Inseong nor Jaeyoon felt anything remotely similar to what my friends said they felt towards me.

I mean, why would they when they were popular on campus for being top tier attractive even though half of them have never even seen their faces in person.

What's more they were absolute sweethearts beyond their outward beauty.

And besides, my relationship with them was very superficial, as in I only ever talk to them about school, since I was classmates with Inseong, and dorm life, since it happened Jaeyoon and I shared the same dorm.

I place my hands on my nape and roll my head. I sigh and stretch, proceeding to take a sip of my water and pushing my hair out of my face.

I turn to my clock and find that it's already 1pm. I sigh and stare blankly at my LED screen where my assignment rested.

You know what I could use? Sugar.

I curl up on my desk and grab my phone, skimming through my notifications, debating on ordering some food.

Just then, there is a popup on my phone and it begins to vibrate. There is a video call request and the caller name reads Kim Inseong. I release a breath and answer, "sup?"

Inseong is lied down on his bed, clutching a pillow, "I'm dying."

I snort, "same."

"I was finishing some activates but felt the urge to jump out of the window, so I decided to call you."

I place my head in my hand and purse my lips, "well, I'm very glad you didn't jump out of the window."

He clicks his tongue, "it's an expensive decision."

I chuckle.

"Am I bothering you?" Inseong asks, shifting in his place.

I shake my head, "no. I'm kind of in a slump right now with my own work."

He sighs, "I wish I could help you, but I have no idea how the heck your courses work."

I chuckle, "it's fine. Thanks anyway."

For a moment, we don't speak. It's not awkward though. I set my phone down and turn back to my laptop and attempt to continue with my work.

Just as Inseong speaks, I hear a text notification.

I turn to my phone and find it's from Jaeyoon.

From LEE JAEYOON: 😩😩😩 can i hangout in your dorm

From LEE JAEYOON: im going to die of boredom and loneliness 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩

I chuckle and shake my head.

To LEE JAEYOON: 🙄 as if i could stop you if i tried ✋

To LEE JAEYOON: im busy though so

"Who was that?" Inseong asks me as set my phone back down.

"Dormmate," I answer quickly, "errr, I mean... he lives in the floor below my apartment and we go to school together sometimes."

Inseong lingers on the 'he' part of the sentence. I at first don't realize he doesn't reply, cause I'm caught up in the work I was doing. Then in the silence, it occurred to me perhaps he ended the call.

I look over to my screen and see Inseong was no longer lying down and was sat up, running his hands through his hair.

I think nothing of it and turn back to my work. I decide to ask, "what subject are you working on?"

When he doesn't reply, I turn back to my phone and see that he was walking around.

I speak louder, "Inseong?"

He hums, "yeah?"

"What subject are you working on?"

He raises the phone to his face and knits his brows, "what?"

I repeat with a sigh, "are you working on your economics homework, or..."

"Ah, no, no. It's a project for a major subject."

"Ahhh," I nod, "that must suck."

"It does."

I don't get to reply because there is a knock on my door. I look over my shoulder then turn back to my phone screen, "hold on."

I then stand and go to my door, knowingly letting in Jaeyoon that came over, although I didn't say he could. He was wearing a mask and a blanket over his shoulders.

"Annyeong," he says, holding a bag of chips and his own laptop.

I shake my head at the sight of it, "I'm doing my assignment, Jaeyoon."

"I know, I know," he replies stepping in, removing his shoes, "I'll just be here watching a film on my laptop," he responds, all giddy, taking his mask off.

I reply to him as I make it back to my desk, "literally, what's the difference of you watching a film in your dorm and here?" I sit back down and find Inseong looking into the camera as Jaeyoon replies, "uh, you, duh. Your company? Tsk, you're not very smart."

I whip my head to him and glare. Jaeyoon ignores this and chuckles, "you know you love me too."

I reply exasperatedly, "I really don't, Jaengjji."

"There's someone in your apartment?" Inseong asks through the phone.

I hum, "the dormmate I was talking to you about."

Inseong hums and nods, pursing his lips the way he always did. I look at him for a moment but shake my head and go back to work

Jaeyoon overhears this as he sets up on my bed, "is that a classmate?" Without waiting for my response, he screams, "HI CLASSMATE!"

I turn to him and growl, "zip it, you moron."

He turns to me with his toothy smile and nods his head in what he believes to be a cute manner, "sorry." He proceeds to lie on my bed chest down and opens his chips.

"If you make a mess-"

"I won't make a mess!"

I roll my eyes and turn back around.

"Ya," Inseong calls, "do you remember your umbrella?"

"What?" I ask, turning to my phone.

"The one you left the last time you were here?"

I remember and nod, "ah, yeah."

"I should come over and give it back to you."

I knit my brows but continue to type away on my keyboard, "what? Why would you do that?"

Inseong lets out a breath, "well, because I might not get another chance if they tighten the lockdown protocols."

I chuckle, "weirdo," I turn to the camera, "it's just an umbrella. You don't have to come over just for that."

"No," he says, "didn't you say you really liked this umbrella? Your grandma bought it for you."

"Yeah, but it's okay if you keep it till next time. I have, like, two other backup umbrellas here. Plus the one Jaeyoon gave me."

Upon hearing his name, Jaeyoon turns to me and screams, "THAT'S ME! I'M JAEYOON."

I roll my eyes and rub my ears in annoyance.

"Sorry," Jaeyoon mutters.

Inseong clenches his jaw and I knit my brows at his expression, "ya... it's really not a big deal."

"Well, it is to me," he sighs.

I begin to feel bad because of his reaction. For a moment, I think he'll get over it. He can get pretty petty. As the minutes pass though with him remaining still and silent on the other line, I can't help but sigh. I wipe my face and nod, "you know, if you really want to... you can give me my umbrella back. It's really not a big deal though. Don't you live across campus?"

Inseong perks up and raises his hand, shaking it, "no. It's not a big deal if I go there. I need the exercise anyway, and I don't want you to lose your cute umbrella."

I chuckle at his use of use.

"I'll be right over then," he says.

I nod and hum, "okay. Bye."

"Bye."

Once I end the call, Jaeyoon comes up next to me and brings up his bag of chips as an offering. As he crunches on some, he casually asks, "classmate?"

I turn to him and nod, taking some chips and stuffing it in my mouth.

"Have I met her before?"

I shake my head and brush off some crumbs off my fingers.

Jaeyoon nods and continues his questions, "are you two the same major?"

"No, we have the same gen-ed classes," I say turning back to my laptop, "his name, by the way, is Kim Inseong."

Jaeyoon stills and buffers, mid eating. He chews on his food and quickly swallows, clearing his throat, "you're friends with a guy?"

I knit my brows at that and don't turn to him, "what? Like you're special?"

Jaeyoon deflates and sits down on the floor next to me, "well, yeah... I think I'm pretty special."

I can't help but chuckle at him. I look down at him and smile, patting his head, "don't worry, you can still be cute even though you're not special."

Jaeyoon knits his brows and gets on his knees, moving closer to me, "so, he's not special either, right?"

I roll my eyes, "haven't we established that I don't think anyone can be special to me since my ex treated me like shit."

Jaeyoon scowls, crushing some of the chips in the bag. He rips off the blanket off his shoulders and throws his blanket to the bed, "I'm going to beat that jerk up if I ever see him."

I nod, "please do."

Jaeyoon sighs then goes back to his movie; I go back to my work.

There is a comfortable silence between us for a while, but it is broken by a knock on the door.

Even with his earphones on, Jaeyoon is extremely sensitive to sound. He, in fact, notices it though I don't. He pauses his movie and pulls one earphone out. He asks, "did you order anything."

"What?" I turn to him in confusion.

"There's someone at the door," he says, pulling the other earphone and standing. He grunts and heads to the door. I watch him as he walks off and sequentially opens the door.

Jaeyoon's demeanor quickly shifts when he is faced with someone equally as tall and seemingly as old as him. He closes the door slightly and knits his brows, "can I help you?"

Inseong does not take kindly to his stiff tone and mimics his expression, placing his hands, which was gripping an umbrella, behind his back. It was pretty obvious, even though Inseong was masked, that he was clenching his jaw before he answered, "yeah. Can I talk to the person who lives here?"

Jaeyoon does not take kindly to his stiff tone either, "why?"

I knit my brows, wondering what was taking Jaeyoon so long, up until I dawns on me it was probably Inseong out there. I stand and jog over to the door, coming up behind the tall man blocking my view and peeping outside from under his arm, which I had to lift up to do so.

Jaeyoon flutters at this, smiling softly. Inseong knits his brows in annoyance

I smile at the sight of the other tall outside and call, "Brainseong, you're here."

Jaeyoon hates how this 'Brainseong' person melts at that.

Inseong turns to me and shows me my red umbrella.

I smile and shove Jaeyoon away using my hips, "thank you," I say taking my umbrella from him, "do you want to come in?"

Inseong doesn't miss a beat, "yeah, actually, I'm a little thirsty."

I nod at this and open the door for him, pointing to my shoe rack, "put your shoes here. I'll get you a glass of water."

Jaeyoon watches every move Inseong makes as he takes his shoes off. I catch his grim expression.

I give him a look and slap his chest. Jaeyoon turns to me, suddenly looking like a lost, wounded puppy. I shake my head and turn away, "by the way, Inseong, this is Lee Jaeyoon, the dormmate I told you about."

Jaeyoon puffs his chest at the idea he was mentioned before, then crosses his arms.

"Jaeyoon, this is the classmate I told you about: Kim Inseong."

Inseong looks to Jaeyoon and feels smug about the idea he was talked about before.

Jaeyoon catches Inseong's expression and notes, "how could I forget, you just told me about him a few minutes ago."

I knit my brows at that, not understanding why he felt the need to say it.

Inseong clears his throat, "me too."

I turn to Inseong as he continues, "you didn't have to tell me about him since you just talked about him on our most recent face time a while ago."

Inseong and Jaeyoon look at each other.

I look between them and purse my lips, "okay then... I'm going to get you a glass of water."

The two follow after me. I had Inseong a cup. He drinks it and puts his mask up right after. Jaeyoon, who say a glimpse of his face, thinks he's not even good looking.

"You can take your mask off, if you want," I say.

Inseong shakes his head, "no, no. I'm not staying-"

Jaeyoon smirks to himself.

"-we're going to facetime until midnight anyway."

Jaeyoon's face drops. He grips his hands.

I make a face at Inseong, "I swear if you just jinxed me--"

Inseong raises his hands and chuckles, quickly stealing a look from Jaeyoon, "what? You always fall asleep halfway anyway."

Jaeyoon chuffs and buts in, "ya."

I turn to Jaeyoon and raise my brows.

I break into a smile, "are you treating me?"

"I should, since you've been working so hard."

I break into a grin and squeal, running up to Jaeyoon and gripping his arm, "wahhhhh, thank you, Jaeeeeeeyoooooonnn."

Jaeyoon smiles blissfully. Inseong rolls his eyes, "I'll go now."

I halt my actions and turn to Inseong, letting go of Jaeyoon and jogging up to him. I walk him to the door and grip his arm, "thanks again for giving me back my umbrella, Inseong."

He turns to me and pats my head, "anything for my favorite partner."

I snort at that.

He quickly puts his shoes on and I was about to say one more goodbye, but Jaeyoon calls for me, "garlic chicken and cheese, right?"

I turn over my shoulder and call back, "yes, please, thank you."

"And plain fries?"

I break into a wide grin and call back, "well if you insist."

Jaeyoon walks over to me and smirks with a phone to his ear, "how could I ever deprive you of your favorite?"

I shake my head at his teasing and decide not to reply.

Inseong clears his throat from outside and raises his hand, "I'll get going now."

Jaeyoon watches Inseong smugly from inside the apartment. Inseong looks at him then looks at me as I say, "thanks again for all the trouble you went through for my umbrella."

"No worries. It's not a big deal."

I shake my head, "no, it is to me."

Inseong smiles behind his mask.

Jaeyoon snorts and turns away.

Before I can close the door, Inseong calls, "ah."

"Hmm?" I open the door as I was closing it.

Jaeyoon knits his brows and turns back to Inseong.

"Are we still on for Saturday?" Inseong says a little louder than needed.

I pull my head back, "yeah, why wouldn't we be?"

Inseong nods his head, "ah, nothing. Just making sure."

Jaeyoon makes a face upon hearing that.

With that, Inseong gives one last wave and walks back.

Kun

Kun, similarly to Taeil, would most likely fall for someone very mature and responsible. My dude is already the father of 7 children (I'm counting Chenle); the last thing he needs is one more.

Very closely related to that is what I think would be another of his priorities: whoever they are and however they are, they've got to get along with the rest of WayV—but it's even better if NCT as a whole likes them. As much as he'd love his s/o, I can't say that if it ever came down to choosing them or his members, he'd pick his partner. The guys are his family and a BIG part of his work, which takes over most of his life, so there's really no escaping it. Befriend the boys or bye-bye.

Once the boys approve of his crush, I think his interest would grow if they've got many pastimes or hobbies. I mean, c'mon, Kun can fly a plane on the same day as he sings his lungs out on Inkigayo and then goes home to cook some fancy-ass dinner. He doesn't need them to be on his level, though. Small, silly passions are the ones the loves the most. He'd listen to them talk about ANYTHING for like 3 hours straight, even if it's why their favourite type of constrictors are pythons. No, that is totally not about me. Shut up.

Ten

Y'all remember that one WayV live where a fan asks for dating advice? Yes, I'm taking a lot from it. If you've seen it, it's not hard to come to the conclusion that Ten likes honest and straightforward people. He values himself way too much to lose his time with someone who's playing games, making him chase them and things of the sort. It's simple, really. If you like him, great, he'll give you the stars if you ask, but if not, great too, he'll live.

I can see that either he'd get with a person as extra as him or someone on Jaehyun's level of unbothered. Not many options here. You either become his partner in crime and bring hell on Earth with him, or you accept it well. Just don't be judgy or ask him to tone it down. That's the way he is, so why should he, you know?

Speaking of that, AUTHENTICITY, FOLKS. Being authentic is a big deal here. Ten is very true to himself and is always encouraging us to be, as well. Anyone he even considers dating will be nothing short of unique and unapologetically so. Being confident is just so attractive for him, I can't even—and yes, even if they're a bit strange. His partner might be a weirdo, but they're HIS weirdo, and he'll fight anyone that disagrees.

Winwin

I think while other members might fall for someone as bright as the Sun, he'd love a person as calming as the Moon. You know that aesthetic? The gentleness, introspectiveness, wisdom, the tranquillity... yeah, fam. That's it for my boy Winwin.

Allow me to elaborate: all of those traits would make him very comfortable with the thought of being in a relationship. I can see Sicheng as having some trust issues, aside from not being very touchy or loud when it comes to affection. Having that peaceful aura would really help him grow closer to his partner because he knows they'll be patient with him and respect his boundaries.

He wouldn't mind if they're more on the talkative side, but he needs a person that can appreciate silence too. Something I see a lot for him is having loud thoughts that are hard to get rid of. Dating him would mean having nights when he's tired out of his mind and just doesn't have the strength to talk. His partner will have to understand that and stay by his side until his inner world is a bit less chaotic, just holding his hand and letting him take his time. I think allowing him to have his space and peace in the relationship is how he feels loved the most.

Lucas

Yukhei would not mind one bit having a more childish, carefree partner. He's a big baby, c'mon, being around another baby would probably make him the happiest. I also think he meant it when he said he doesn't care about age (that one V-Live from years ago). Younger than him, older than him, my boy doesn't give a fuck. He really just wants someone to be silly with and smile a lot.

Having said that, I really can't see anything pushing him away from getting to know someone. Lucas is very lighthearted and loves people, so I think he'd have his fun getting to know anyone—and tbh, he would be hooked if they're a bit mysterious too. His interest would probably get the best of him, and he wouldn't stop whining about it to the other boys until he learns something about them. Very random, yes, but I can 100% see him complaining to WayV during dinner, LMAO.

One thing he wouldn't enjoy too much? A partner that can't take compliments or doesn't like being spoiled. Yukhei's affection is LOUD, and he really thrives off praise, cute pet names and giving gifts. He'd most likely be heartbroken if he finds out they don't like any of it, almost like they're shutting down his love itself.

Xiaojun

Ah, my dear Dejun. The middle child of WayV. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, just look up "Xiaojun's middle child problems" on YouTube and go from there. If you don't feel like it, lemme break it down to you: he's an angel, but the boys mostly accuse him of everything and anything and will throw him under the bus for fun. It's very entertaining. At this point, my boy doesn't have a fight or flight response; more like fight or fight (shhhh, I'll get into the headcanon now).

I think since he's used to being so defensive around his members, he'd appreciate a person that makes him feel both understood and safe. They'd share similar tastes (mint-choco ice cream, cough cough) and interests, but they'd most likely have a fiercer presence than him. Kind of intimidating, tbh. Very nice. I can definitely see that his partner wouldn't let WayV's chaos get to them and would, undoubtedly, be as much of a savage as the boys are.

He'd probably like it if they (playfully) fight his members and defend him from whatever-the-fuck they're blaming him for atm, so, yes, a bit protective. I think Dejun would simply find it cute and admirable, you know, their braveness. Would 10/10 brag about it when they're alone.

Hendery

Kunhang is the ultimate crackhead, but a sweet one at that. Being a Libra (yes, I'm going there), I think he can actually be very sentimental around the people he trusts the most and needs to feel like he belongs. That leads me to point 1: his partner would also be a crackhead. That's REALLY not up for debate. Kunhang wouldn't even think about dating someone that's not as much of a weirdo as he is.

Point 2: he probably wouldn't like to be with a person that's too vain or superficial, whether that goes towards others or themselves. He's said before he hopes the fans can see him as more than a pretty face, and I can imagine that goes for his s/o too. He'd simply not feel connected to someone who's always dolled up or dressed to impress. Would definitely prefer a more casual style and personality.

I guess point 3 is kinda random, but it makes sense to me, so here we go. Kunhang would really like someone who's just in love with human nature. For him, it's the tiniest things: the way they laugh, how they drink their tea, which side of the bed they'd prefer... it all adds up to a person, and I think he'd feel over the Moon to be with someone who sees the same things as him. Comment on a small habit of his he thinks no one else would notice, and I swear he's yours.

Yangyang

He is a spoiled brat, and I say that with all the love in the world. We've all heard WayV say how he basically tries to exploit them (mainly Hyung-line) at every opportunity he gets, which makes me think Yangyang might be a bit lazy, yes, but also that he'd do great with someone whose love language is acts of service.

Now, I'm not saying he'd tyrannize them or anything of the sort, but things would work very well if that is how his partner expresses their love. They wouldn't mind fetching him a drink, cooking something—or ordering out, if they can't... you know, stuff like that. It would make him feel very validated and cared for. I see that, for him, that's the ultimate type of devotion.

The last thing I can imagine he'd consider is whether they can take his teasing and antics or not. Yangyang's affection is really not shown through super heartfelt, sugar-coated moments; quite the opposite, actually. If he feels happy around someone, his way of showing it is that playful banter, insults and teasing, you know? He really wouldn't know what to do if the person takes everything he says to heart, like—Yangyang.exe has stopped working. So, yeah. A thick skin and elastic heart are a great combo for my boy.

Bonus: he'd lowkey cry if they get super hyped with his work as an artist. PLEASE praise his dancing, rapping, visuals and all. I don't think many people do, and even if he denies it, the compliments make him all fuzzy inside. #appreciateyangyang2021, he's underrated af.

Firstly with some of my head cannons for him.

- cross had albinism it defines him from alot of the clones and it's main reason he doesn't like Regs, back when he was a cadet he had to be separated on many occasions becuase of fights.

-reason the lights are dim on kamino in the bad batchs room is not just for hunter but also for Cross becuase he is very light sensitive and it's reason he wears his helmet alot.

-clones get tattoos as a way to define who they are and separate themselves from each other, while crosshair got his as more a pleasure, he looks very different from his brethren, he's very lean and thin and also his skin and hair.

So I like the idea that he has a tattoo/tattoos on his lower back it was something he saw and decided he wanted.

-Wrecker is the first one to figure out that crosshair likes you, he does keep it to himself for a little but then talks to crosshair about it.

When crosshair first met you there's alot he doesn't know how to feel about with you. Your not a Reg but your also not just a civilian.

Crosshair isn't as grumpy as you would think when talking to you, he doesn't do it often but he also doesn't insult you. He does shot you a small smile hear and there as an acknowledgement,

Cross loves watching you work from a distance weather it.be thought a scope or over a set of cards.

The first full convosation you had with him is when he found you baking, it was just a small inquiry about what you were making which lead into finding out the man had a sweet tooth for baked goods.

What gets him to fall for you is when he finds a small box with his name on it. He eyes it for a few minutes thinking it might be another one of Wreckers tricks. But curiosity gets the better of him and he opens it. He is kinda shocked to see the small arrangement of sweets.

After that the occasional one talk every two weeks became every one week until and continued until it was everyday. It never had to be about much could be just you asking how he was doing and he'd give a yes or no.

Physical intimacy is something he isn't used to but he loves having you run your fingers thought his hair. It a calming and sets him at easy.

He has a thing agaisnt Regs we all know this so he doesn't like when they get close to you. He will go on the defensive, stand really close to you, hold your hand or press a soft kiss to your temple.

The first person Cross does confind in is Echo, he took to him quite a bit when he joined. They annoy each other but they also talk the most to each other. Echo is the one who gives him the confidence to ask you out.

And your first kiss with him was hectic it was after a mission got messy. You came out with a small injury but crosshair was livid that you even got hurt. It's filled with alot of emotion.

a/n: so ofc i have like no motivation to catch up w my requests atm- im so sorry skjdfbhgdj but i had my first day of work the other day so why not write a quick blurb abt how that went hehe

Honestly. I’m more excited than nervous. Right? Maybe because of that cute boy I saw the other day when I came into the store for my interview, but he’s irrelevant. Kinda.

You remember waiting in line and seeing him bag groceries. His brunette curls were all over the place and his pair of pretty brown eyes were focused on his task.

Ugh, I could just tell he’s gorgeous, even if half his face was covered because of his mask.

You thought to yourself as you slyly checked him out from the corner of your eye. He was wearing the stores’ shirt with some baggy jeans and worn-out new balances. For some reason, that was the most attractive thing ever to you. Maybe quarantine really was getting to you.

After the not-so-nerve-wrecking interview, you felt even more excited to start working. If they accept you of course. What made you feel that way was the fact that someone who has been working there for a while will help you out, if you do start of course. At least, that’s what the manager who was interviewing you said.

A couple of days later, you get the job. Which seemed pretty obvious, but you were stoked nonetheless. Mainly because you actually got the job and because you might get to work with the pretty boy. Then again, might.

You’re probably barely going to see him around the store and maybe that’s a good thing. You can be awkward as fuck even though you act confident from time to time. Attractive people make you nervous, you can’t help it.

Your first day starts and everything’s pretty chill, just had to sign some papers. Now you’re in some office room starting a couple of video training modules. You lean on the palm of your hand and scroll through the list of the videos you had to watch. About 33 videos and documents, fanfuckingtastic.

Some time passes by and you glance at the computer’s time realizing it’s time to start your lunch. You shift off the headphones you were using and stand up, telling your newly acquainted coworker that you’re taking a lunch.

Okay. What do I do now? I clock out, right? Then go grab some lunch. Okay? Cool. I got this.

You breathe out and walk to the back of the store, then towards the break room to clock out. You let your manager know you’re going to go the nearby Starbucks to grab some lunch and begin to head out the store with a sense of relief rushing through your body.

That sense of relief immediately diminishes when that cute guy, stops you from leaving. “Hey, are you a courtesy clerk?” he asks, smiling at you beneath his mask.

You notice his eyes slightly squint from smiling making your stomach fill with butterflies. You nod slowly, “U-Uhm, yep.”

He stifles a laugh and holds up some empty bottle, walking up to you. You gulp and glance at him, “Could you please refill this with sanitizer for me? It’s in the back of the store, by the janitor’s closet.”

“Yeah sure,” you take ahold of it but instantly realize you don’t know where that is, “I-I’m sorry, where is that a-again?” you let out a breathy laugh.

He chuckles, “It’s uhm, somewhere in the back. I have to help these customers out but just ask someone. They’ll know. Thank you!” he walks back out to the front of the store.

Okay, fuck. Just help the cute guy. Doesn’t matter that you’re on lunch, just go.

You inhale deeply and quickly walk away, doing his favor. You come back and walk up to him, keeping a distance. “H-Here,” you say quietly but notice he’s too focused on helping others to hear you. You bite your lip nervously out of habit and watch him.

His eyes look so familiar. Almost like. No way? Could it be, Peter Parker from freshman year? Shut the fuck up, no way.

You feel your heart begin to race at the thought. You glance at his outfit to check for a name tag but didn’t catch anything.

Shit.

You look back up at him when you notice him come close, “Sanitizer, right?” he chirps.

You nod, “Y-Yeah.”

“Thanks,” he goes back to his job. You make your way past him with widened eyes and walk out the store to Starbucks.

That did not just fucking happen. He’s so cute, oh my god. Wait, could that really be him? It went by too fast, shit! Oh my god. I got over Peter Parker two years ago, did he really have to show up now? No, no fucking way it’s him. Whatever. I’ll find out his name eventually. Then, I guess we’ll see.

Interesting details about the 3 houses cast (From dialogue in ‘Heroes’)

The first name Ferdinand’s father is ‘Ludwig’ and he is apparently an insufferable braggart who also said his own name alot

Before moving into her uncle’s castle, Anette spent her early childhood in a small, humble house in the Capital. Gilbert & his wife couldn’t afford domestic servants so she did the chores herself.

Mercedes’ father died in a “conflict in the empire”. Before he died, he taught her mom the secret recipe that Mercedes mentions in the Constance and Dedue supports. A bit of her fatalistic passive attitude early on comes from feeling that she couldn’t change much about her life while she and her mom were being mistreated at the Bartels’ home

Claude has a lot of fun with the mushroom poison.

Despite their student’s glowing opinions, Byleth isn’t actually all that confident about their professor-ing, which is probably not unexpected given how the job was suddenly dumped in their lap.

They’re somewhat uncertain about whether they have real connections with people beyond just the professional level. I guess that’s another parallel to Edelgard.

The sad thing is that the trio is noted to be quite effective when they cooperated. I guess we also saw this in Cindered Shadows

There is a hilarious sequence where Byleth is like, “This may call for drastic measures” and everyone starts looking at Claude and correctly assuming that he’s probably already cooking up some sort of crazy plan

Ferdinand apparently likes the “refined way” that Edelgard swings her axe

Petra considers hunting one of the most important skills you can have, both because you acquire many crucial materials (like leather etc) and because it also hones a lot of skills. Bridgid is very green & plentiful, so most people do some degree of hunting and even the rulers are expected to know it. Someone remarks that it’s probably a culture that places emphasis on self-sufficiency. That’s an interesting way to think about it, especially if you think about Petra’s attitudes, how she approaches even this cobjectively crappy political hostage situation as an opportunity and has a very problem-solvy approach to things. I’d noted that, but I’d never connected it with the hunting thing; I thought it was just Petra being awesome, which it basically still is, but it adds a cool layer to consider how she got this way and how this may be her way to stay close to her homeland’s values even in exile.

Hubert seemed to know that he ten elites fought against the godess even pre timeskip.

He also sees Edelgard as one of the few ppl who really paid attention to him when he was younger - I guess this goes with this understated complex he has about his looks & personality.

Edelgard likes to just lie around and relax, but only when she’s all alone. At least pre timeskip or pre holy-tomb scene she didn’t think like she could really be herself in the company of others. She does seem to put some deliberate thought into what image to project/embody

Dimitri seems to think that having a crest (and high status) makes it his duty to protect & take care of the people – I guess that’s another way in which he’s completely ruled by obligation. He gets characteristically intense about this. “My life was never mine to begin with, I guess I haven’t the right to throw it away”

the glorious “nice weather” exchange has already been posted. Edelgard (and Lysithea) are the first to clarify that they shouldn’t bring their grudges into this situation since they’re not in Fodlan atm.

Edelgard and Claude are beyond shook when AzureMoon!Dimitri actually agrees. Chill Dimitri is apparently not something they ever imagined. He is obviously the most changed in “his” route, with the other two its no less profound but a lot more subtle.

Lysithea has an interest in botany (now I really want her to talk plants with Bernie )

Hilda: “I haven’t heard about there being a future me here. She’s probably busy relaxing on a beach or something…”

Mercie and Anette immediately reassured each other that their future selves are probably cute af. Aww

This is probably unsurprising, but future!Dimitri is still very tormented by his less than stellar actions during and right after the timeskip

Small Dimitri is heartbreakingly surprised to hear that there’s any version of him that’s alive and on the throne, though he hides it because his friends (or at least Annie and Mercie) did not have such doubt

Edelgard decides from the get-go not to concern herself with the future version of her. I get the sense that she really wants to avoid the scenario where she allows her resolve about what she feels absolutely must be done to falter after meeting a regretful future version of herself; I really like this, I know some haters will probably spin this into something about her not caring about the consequences of her actions but it really circles back to how she’s philosophically all about self-determination & can’t let something like a future possibility determine what she does… nor can she back off a sacrifice meant for the greater good just because it might turn out poorly for her (which it does, just not in the CF timeline that this particular future version is from)

Cut to the future versions who have contrasting ideas about what to do about their tiny selves. Claude thinks they should not risk causing any time paradoxa. Dimitri ponders the thought of warning his younger self (and past!Byleth). Edelgard doesn’t think it would make any difference at all, especially since they would each be showing their tiny self the timeline where they win.

Though I guess one think to consider here is probably that Dimitri would be the most surprised by a sucessful older version of himself

Claude eventuallly agrees, since they were each doing what they thought was best (Claude, too, is sort of uniquely situated to grasp this as the one who can part on good terms with each of the other two in their respective timelines) – though he’s hoping that the time crash will maybe send their younger selves in a different direction (in which you see that this is distinctly VW!Claude & thus a bit more hopeful)

the others actually agree & it ends with a fun semi-friendly sparring match

Edelgard wants to show past!Byleth how awesome she’s going to be in the future

it is very in line with my interpretation of her character that she would describe her own disproportional strenght as “hideous”

Claude’s lines are solid gold in this. Like he’s just being aggressive irrevent to bridge the obvious awkwardness “Go on, we’re old dining hall palls!”

This gets Lysithea wondering what might’ve happened if they’d actually graduated as planned. I mean I kind of respect that they DIDNT put in a golden ending but I guess if you want one you can imagine that they got one after returning from Askr I guess.

let’s just hope that “the timeline none of them experienced” doesn’t just turn out to be silver snow lol

2020 Language Goal Review

Given tomorrow is technically week 1 of 2021, I figured now would be a good time to review my 2020 goals. I actually kinda scrapped them because I decided they were too vague and I didn’t even care about them really, but I thought I’d do a review anyway.

My 2020 goals were:

Improve my confidence with both speaking and writing (particularly speaking)

Finish reading all the books I currently have

Write 5000 10000 words of fiction in Norwegian (not necessarily all the same story)

Overall aim: pull all my skills up to a comfortable B2 level and test this by taking Norskprøve B1/B2 in Autumn or Winter

So, here’s how I feel I did!

1. This was vague af and I figured it’s impossible to measure, but actually, there are two things that attest to the fact I nailed this:

I happily write more posts in Norwegian, and sometimes I don’t even proofread them (and then have to go back and fix various dumb mistakes, but I’ve noticed those are getting fewer and fewer. Anyway, the point is, my confidence has improved)

I took up @hopehav on her offer to chat with me in Norwegian after literally years of going nOOOoo I am not Worthy

I also feel like if someone asked me if I speak Norwegian this time last year, my answer would have been “ehh I kinda understand it but I don’t really speak it”. Whereas now it’s more like “yes but not well/fluently”. I think that’s probably an upgrade!

2. I’ve still not read Harry Potter og Føniksordenen. But I did read Harry Potter og De Vises Stein (which I found free online) and another book that I didn’t have at the start of the year. Combined, they’re about the same number of pages as Harry Potter og Føniksordenen. So, in a way, I did actually hit this goal.

3. Yeahhh sorta smashed this one. I’m currently on 14.3K, plus another 1000 words of a translated WIP and 1000 words of planning. True, I don’t write anything particularly complicated or difficult, but I had fun!

4. Honestly idk what CEFR level I am atm and I’m not even sure I care. I feel like I’m closer to B2 now than B1 now, and I feel like my reading skills at least are close-ish to C1. I’ve been told a number of times I’m not as far off C1 as I think I am, but I’m not convinced lol. Obviously I didn’t get to take the test because of corona, but maybe next year I’ll do it, just to prove to myself that I’m at least B2. We’ll see though - it depends where in the world I am and what my finances are like.

2021 Goals?

I have some ideas for some goals, but I know they’ll probably change as my plans change. I’m still hoping to get a job teaching English abroad. I’d love to go to Japan, which will mean studying Japanese more intensively and maintaining Norwegian rather than trying to improve for a bit. If I can’t get a job in Japan, I might have to apply for jobs in a European country, and of course I’d then want to learn the language of the country I’d be going to live in. But then, I might not go abroad at all, and then I’d just continue learning Norwegian and probably Japanese for a while at least.

I’ll probably make a post outlining some goals in time for the 31st, but they certainly won’t be set in stone!
