Hey, I saw a post from another tumblr user that you are a Zionist and spreading false info about Jewish people being excluded from pride parades and I don't know what a Zionist is (they just said it was nationalist) but I enjoy your blog and wanted to ask you about it directly to understand better whats going on if thats okay? Im not anonymous in case you want to privately answer or tell me youd not want to discuss. 💕
first, i wanna thank you for being respectful about this, and for asking this off anon. this tells me you're asking in good faith, so i'm happy to answer.
i've had to state numerous times on my blog that i'm not a zionist bc people love to slap that label on any jew they disagree with, which is exactly what's happening in this situation. they disagreed with what i said about a lot of jews not feeling comfortable at pride because of the pervasive antisemitism in queer spaces, and several queer events banning the jewish pride flag because it "looked too similar to the israeli flag" and decided that made me a zionist. it happens a lot bc ppl know that that word is very taboo in activist spaces, and labeling you a zionist is a surefire way to get you kicked out of a lot of progressive circles. interestingly (said with a huge dollop of sarcasm) this rarely happens to gentiles.
zionist is also a pretty useless word for determining what someone actually believes, because depending on who you ask their ideologies can range from "i think that jewish people should be able to live in the land that is currently israel and palestine alongside palestinians and other indigenous groups" to "i think that only jews should get to live in that area and we should kick everyone else out." and as you can imagine, there's lots of people like me who agree with the first statement but vehemently disagree with the second. it's become somewhat of a dogwhistle, to the point that alt righters popularized "zio" as a slur, which was then picked up by leftists (because there is also a huge problem with antisemitism in leftist and non palestinian gentile-dominated antizionist spaces.) one of the events i mentioned in the first paragraph deleted a tweet using this slur.
the person you're probably talking about also claimed that i, a genderqueer trans man, am a misogynist, because i said that jewish masculinity is very culturally different from white masculinity and that i find a lot of comfort in it. they cited a bunch of problems with misogyny within the orthodox community, despite the fact i'm not orthodox or even ashkenazi. what it boiled down to is that they disagree with the takes i have on anti transmasculinity, and they needed something else to pin it on.
so in the future, if you see someone accusing a jew of being a zionist, take everything they have to say with a bucket full of salt and do as you did with this ask and go ask the person what they actually believe. sometimes you'll find their beliefs actually don't line up with your morals and you can unfollow, but the vast majority of the time you'll find that they just said something someone didn't like and it was the easiest way to discredit them.
in general, i don't share my opinions about zionism/antizionism on tumblr because that's not what my blog is centered on, and also i oppose the expectation that jews should have to disclose our opinions on zionism in order for gentiles to determine whether or not we are worth listening to. i also have a lot of thoughts abt how the focus on anti-anything makes it easier for activists to weaponize that activism against marginalized people, but that's an entirely different post.
anyway, i hope that answers your question, and i will probably pin this ask somewhere on my blog since i have been asked this a few times now and it seems unavoidable since ppl just won't drop it.

Post-Fight the Future
A moment in Scully's recovery from Antarctica after being released from a Buenos Aires hospital.
Inspired by this insane "blooper" video. and a tweet asking for a fic about said moment.
There was a soft knock at the door and Mulder said “Scully?” through it.
“Come in Mulder” she called.
There was a pause and she yelled out again with a smile “Im not indecent”. She was covered in bubbles after all, he wouldn’t be able to see anything below her shoulders.
He opened the door and slid his face through it apprehensively but when he saw she was covered completely, he relaxed and moved halfway across the frame.
She smiled up at him as she swallowed a retort of “Nothing you haven't seen before”, not wanting to make him needlessly uncomfortable. He had seemed like he’d been held together by a fine thread, under constant threat of loosing what little composure he’d been keeping together for her since she had woken up in the hospital in Buenos Aires.
They had been in an airy third floor walk up on a street full of colourful buildings, with bare trees lining the cobble stones, since she’d been released from the hospital a couple of days ago. She’d been throughly enjoying wandering around Palermo with him, looking at the old architecture that rivalled DC, listening to live music in the evenings, sitting at a corner cafe sipping wonderful warm coffee, not thinking about work for what felt like the first time in a long while.
He hadn’t mentioned anything about what had happened yet, letting her take the lead, but she could tell he was itching to. He had so much on his mind and she would have to get the full accounting eventually. But here in this cozy old stone building, in a bathtub from at least 1920, with a weathered door that wouldn’t lock, she felt like she was in a different lifetime. A sanctuary away from the x files and what they would have to return to in Washington in two days.
“Hey” he said eyes lingering on her face, no chance of impropriety there. She loved him for it.
“Skinner called, he’s glad you’re out of the hospital and he said to call as soon as you can, so…”
“No dilly dallying?”
He smiled at the term and said “Right, I don’t think we should keep him waiting he’s uh… well, annoyed would be a generous interpretation”
She laughed, “Okay, Ill be out in a minute.”
He turned out of the door then back to her “I was going to order some late breakfast, what do you want?”
“You can order in Spanish over the phone?” She raised an eyebrow.
“Well…” He shrugged throwing his hands out. The bottle cap he’d been playing with slipped from his fingers, hit the water, and sank with a tink to the bottom of the tub.
“Sorry” he said quickly, passing all the way through the threshold and stooping down over the tub. Before she could think to move, he slipped his arm between her legs and was fishing on the bottom of the tub for it. She swallowed the gasp in her throat as his arm brushed her inner thigh and her back straightened imperceptibly in response.
She followed his arm down with her eyes and shifted her legs open so he could reach it, where she could feel it had fallen, under her leg. She looked up at his face, lips parted, in surprise. He seemed truly concentrated on finding the thing. Was he just so comfortable with her now, almost kissing her in hallways, and carrying her half naked across the arctic that this was just what their partnership had evolved into? She wondered what he would do next, imagined what he would do next, hoped at what he would do next.
“Got it” he said and looked up at her, his hand dripping over the water. Their eyes met and she swallowed as she saw him register the desire she had been too slow to hide. She could see the moment flicker behind his eyes as he realised what he had done. His cheeks burned red as he leaned back, closing his hand around it in a tight fist. “Im sorry Scully, I don’t know what I was thinking doing that.”
She shook her head, setting her face in a casual expression, and ran her tongue over her dry lips. “Thats okay Mulder.”
They both waited for the other to speak and when neither did, she decided to end his agony. Her mouth spread in a wide smile and then she was giggling. He looked at her and chanced a smile.
“Mulder” she said sweetly. The water sloshed as she put her hands up in front of her, resting her fingers on the hollow between her clavicles, covering her breasts. She leaned onto the side of the tub, closing the distance he'd put between them. She looked up into his face. “It’s nothing you haven’t seen before anyway.” She said it as a comfort, not in jest.
Mulder’s face was flushed but he smiled at her with such gentle affection, she could’ve stood up and thrown her arms around him in a sudsy wet hug.
Instead she said “Can we go out to that cafe again? I think I need to get the blood flowing with a walk.” Not that that wasn’t already happening right now, but she wanted to be outside, she’d felt slightly suffocated being inside since Antarctica.
“Of course, anything you want, Scully” He said in that stoic tone she loved, as he stood and made his way out of the bathroom, closing the door behind him.

the only thought that’s going through carmen’s head is ‘leave before you destroy both of them. there’s time’.
though he’d never actually follow through with the thought that he’s having - the thought of you being pregnant, of him being a father, scares him.
you stare at him quietly, shifting.
“carm… i need you to say something, please,” your brows are pinched as if your in pain, hand coming up to scratch at your forehead. “i’m-i’m scared too. but i can’t…”
your breath gets caught in your throat, head turning as you look at the wall college in his office, blinking away the tears that threaten to fall. you shake your head.

and of course, you hate saying that, because you don’t want to force him into doing something he doesn’t want too. but you can’t. you couldn’t imagine doing something like this without carmen.
he’s always there when you imagine having a small family.
he stands from the chair, clammy hands landing on your biceps. you turn your head and stare at him. he frowns, lifting his hands and let them rest on your cheek, catching the tears that fall.
“what if…” he pauses. “what if i’m like- what if i’m not a good dad?”
what if i’m like him? is what he wants to say, but he doesn’t.
“oh, carmy,” you let out a soft laugh, shaking your head. “you’ll be the most wonderful dad i know. i couldn’t imagine doing this with anyone else,” you whisper and step closer. “it’s okay to be scared. i’m scared too.”
he nods, brows upturning slightly as his eyes dart down. “im scared.” he breathes out.
“me too.” you repeat softly.
his eyes dart back up towards you. “i hope she looks like you.” his thumbs drag over your cheeks again, a small smile on his face.
“she?”
“yeah,” he nods. “she. she’ll be loved.”
you smile and press your lips to his softly before pulling away, hands wrapping around his wrists. “she will.”

if you were sitting on the bed on your phone and he had just finished up a stream or playing a game, he would definitely do that cliche thing where he just sighs over and over again until you sigh yourself, look over at ur needy boyfriend and reluctantly ask him what’s wrong.
he would only sigh again and tell you how his partner is paying more attention to their phone than him !! despicable right ? :((( how dare they !
OR ! if he’s feeling extra pouty and stubborn he would try to do anything possible to put aside his neediness, playing games with shoto, tweeting weird 5head tweets, but eventually he would get impatient (with a decision he made...) and flop beside you on the bed and lay his head on your lap

the fox-like detective would be another one to refuse to ask for your attention, but unlike mr voice demon he’s not stubborn, he just wouldn’t want to bother you :((
even if you weren’t doing anything in particular, mysta would still not really want to bother you, so you would have to be the one to approach him. it wouldn’t be hard to notice when mysta’s feeling needy, as he spends a lot of time staring at you, and instantly looking away when you make eye contact with him. he also sits next to you with a sligh gap in between you, fidgeting with his hands trying to form a million plans in his head trying to find ways to make you give him some attention (⸝⸝ᵕᴗᵕ⸝⸝)
when you eventually notice his nervousness and neediness, doing any simple thing such as grabbing his hand or pulling his head to lie on your shoulder, will make him let out a sigh and mutter a “thank you”

i can imagine ike being slightly open about being needy for your attention, however he wouldn’t outrightly say it. he would find ways to constantly touch you, such as sitting closer to you than normal and laying your head on his lap as he reads.
ike will have just finished up a long drinking stream, the alcohol in his system making him feel extra warm and cutesy, wanting to be held in your arms (୨୧ ❛ᴗ❛)✧
he would stumble his way towards your shared room to find you lying in bed, and he could already envision cosying up next to you and feeling warm and fuzzy from your undivided attention.
however, unfortunately for the poor novelist, whatever you were looking at on your phone (he was too jealous to look..) was slightly more important than your tipsy boyfriend. \(๑•́o•̀๑)/
ike, now glaring holes into your poor phone, laid his head on your shoulder, his cheeks warm to the touch, and buried his head into the crook of your neck
if that wasn’t enough to grab your full attention, what else was he supposed to do rather than grab your phone and aggressively sit it somewhere behind him on the bed (he didn’t care where, as long as he got your hand in his hair hehe)
the second you let out a laugh and wrap your arm around your slighly dizzy tipsy boyfriend, you feel him sigh against your neck and plant a small kiss against you (୨୧ᵕ̤ᴗᵕ̤)

our big mafia boss is just about the biggest cuddle bug around around would not be afraid to jump into your arms whenever he feels he hasn’t had enough attention from you ( ๑ ˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و ♡
if you were slighly busy with work on a laptop or something, he would lather himself all over you like a koala and whine about how much he wishes he was your laptop in his next life so he could lie on your lap peacefully.
he’d bury his head in your neck so far you could smell his shampoo, and place kisses all over your neck trying his hardest to tickle you to make you give him the tiniest sliver of attention

the cutest sorcerer in the world would probably start feeling needy after playing games on stream for a while, but he’s not the type to end stream because of his neediness. why would he when he can just make you come to him? ( ˶ˆ꒳ˆ˵ )
shu knew you were doing your own work in a different room so he’d text you to bring all your stuff into his room, not replying when you ask why
when you quietly enter his room hearing him talk to his chat, you see a space next to his desk that’s been obviously cleared to fit all of your work, and a chair sat next to his.
smiling like a dummy at your boyfriend clearing his desk mid stream just so you can sit next to him, you sit and immediately see him judge how far your chair is from his, and pull you closer to him.
STILL smiling like a dummy your try your hardest to go back to your work but cant find the ability to focus when your boyfriend woke up today and decided to be the cutest man on earth, his hand tracing random shapes on your thigh and his shoulder touching yours.
as soon as shu finishes up his stream you decide you can spare some time to give attention to the most cat-like sorcerer in the world, who immediately turns to you and gives you the brightest smile you need to look away before you go blind ପ૮๑ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ๑ აଓ

I love imagining going to an award show with Dominic and both of you guys are up for awards (in my head I imagine being a filmmaker but feel free to change it) and both of you guys win and at the after party you guys are dubbed the new power couple in film.

“and the golden globe for best actor in a motion picture drama goes to,” bradley cooper paused as he presented the award, “dominic sessa, congratulations man.”
dominic’s eyes widened, the two of you jumping up from your seats as he embraced you. you placed a kiss on his lips, holding his hands and telling him how proud you were before shoving him in the direction of the stage.
“thank you so much,” dominic spoke into the mic, “oh my god it’s bradley cooper!”
you laughed, he may as well be more excited about meeting his idol than winning his first golden globe. he continued to reel off his thanks: the crew, the cast, his agent, his family.
“and finally. i want to thank my life and soul and heart and body and mind,” he reeled on, laughing and placing his hand on his heart, “y/n. you support me every day and i could never do this without you.”
you wiped a couple of tears from your eyes, the camera focusing in on you as dominic blew a kiss before exiting the stage.
the next award was for best screenplay: your category. the two of you always knew you’d be one after the other, which meant win or lose, you’d have to do it without dom by your side. though you remained happy in the knowledge that at least he’d been rewarded for his talents.
“and the award for best screenplay goes to… y/n y/l/n!”
“oh my god,” you gasped, standing up and embracing your team. although you’d done the writing by yourself, it was an industry that required so many people on a project that you could never take the credit by yourself. or maybe you could.
going onto the stage, you hugged and thanked the presenter as you accepted the award and placed it down on the little table next to you.
“y/n!” a call came, as dominic rushed back onto the stage.
“dom!” you laughed, embracing him as he cheered for you, before leaving as quick as he’d arrived.
you continued laughing, overwhelmed with emotion as you approached the microphone, “sorry, he’s just a really big fan.”
with laughs from the mega-famous members of the audience, you continued your speech with a shaky breath.
“i want to thank the whole team, the creators of this film for trusting me with the script, the actors for bringing it to life, the producers for their money,” you laughed, “um, my family. my friends. everybody back home who consistently believed in me, and of course, as said already, so eloquently tonight; i want to thank the love of my life, dominic, for remaining by my side with steady support for everything i do. i love you more than life itself and i couldn’t do this without you, thank you.”

“you ready for the after party?” dominic whooped, flailing around your intertwined hands in a sort of dance from the back seat of your cab.
you laughed, “let go!”
dominic laughed, letting go of your hand but leaning over to look at your phone with you. he may not have his own social media, but he sure does love to look at yours.
“what they saying?” he hummed, stroking your arm gently.

“michelle,” he smiled, walking over, his hand staying intertwined with yours, “this is my girlfriend, y/n.”
“y/n, hi!” she exclaimed, pulling you into a polite cheek-kiss greeting as she introduced you to the rest of the circle, “so what do you do?”
you chuckled, “i’m a writer, actually!”
“she just won,” dom smiled proudly, nudging you.
“oh my god, what?! and so did you dom! wow,” michelle hummed, “a real power couple here, huh?”
dominic laughed, as you hid your face in his shoulder.
“we’re gonna go say hi to a few other people, it was lovely seeing you, michelle,” dom smiled, wishing everyone a goodbye as the two of you made your way over to the bar. dom ordered effortlessly, pressing a kiss to your head, “power couple, huh?”
you laughed, cheering your drinks together, “that’s what everyone’s saying!”
