Why was Mickey so soft with ian in season seven

well, the shortest and simplest answer is bc he loves him and had missed him and he will always be soft with Ian if given the opportunity

we'd already started to see more of Mickey's softer side at least in season 4/5, as Terry's vice-like hold on him progressively lost its power and Mickey was allowed to express the full extent of his love and tenderness towards Ian

and I just think that when he gets reunited with Ian after breaking out of prison, Mickey is just really glad to see Ian's doing better after everything he went through with his diagnosis and considering the last time he saw Ian before that

they're really just picking up where they left off when he went to prison in Mickey's mind. he wants Ian to go to Mexico with him because Ian is Mickey's person and he wants them to take care of each other. he loves Ian and cares for him deeply. and he's a soft, sweet boy at heart ❤️

Another thing I'm changing in my fics is that Rise does NOT go back to being an idol. Fuck that shit. Idol culture is incredibly toxic, and the game freaking SHOWS that, but because she gets guilt tripped by her manager bringing a letter from a little girl fan and telling her about all her potential, she goes back?!?!

Like, we see her getting objectified by people throughout the game! She quit being an idol and came to Inaba so that she could figure out what being a person was like outside of the Risette personality that was MADE for her by the agency! Hell, she didn't even want to become an idol! A family member sent her info to the agency for an audition without her consent! We learn about how her free time was not really hers for years. She doesn't have any memories of spending Christmas and other holidays with friends, for crying out loud! And her character arc ends with her going BACK to that life?!

The stuff that idols go through would fuck up any adult, and Rise is a freaking CHILD! She can inspire people and sing and act and do whatever the hell she wants WITHOUT belonging to an agency that would sexualize her and police her every move!!!!

Every Day I think about how the Hatenna line is said to hate strong emotions and how Bede at his core is a bundle of strong conflicting emotions stuffed into a human suit and how Hatenna is always with him regardless.

hmm piper and reyna getting away from the demigod world and building up a normal life in the mortal one. no monsters, no gods. just them not having to be heroes and getting to be the normal teenage girls they never got to be. they can just focus on healing. they have their love for each other and that’s enough.

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

I think we need to get more comfortable with the idea that sometimes shitty, racist, homophobic, bigoted people are still incredibly talented.

I feel like every time I see a post addressing someone’s shitty behavior the post also takes the time to mention that they’re not even good at [x] anyway. And that’s just not always true? Equating being good at a skill as being morally good is just not necessary. Someone can be a fantastic writer, can have a beautiful singing voice, can create breathtaking artwork, and still be a horrible person.

I know part of this is probably just the instinct to dislike everything about a person when you dislike them, but I also think this mindset leads to people defending creatives way past where they should, because if bad people create bad art, then if this person creates art that I like and resonates with me, then they can’t be a bad person!

And you know. That’s just not true. Those two things are simply completely unconnected and I think it’d be healthier if we all started disconnecting them in our heads.
