i just think if ferrari and rbr gave their drivers stickers and made it a competition to see who can get more stickers on the enemy they would get phenomenal pr material. the ferrari boys are so competitive with each other they’d be going to extremes to hunt down the rbr boys and get more stickers on them/their stuff. checo would do his happy to be included smile as he stuck a single sticker on one of the cars and called it a day and it would be mildly charming. and don’t get me started on the unhinged chaos of unleashing max and charles on one another in a barely controlled competitive environment

The more the time passes, the more convinced I am that THE style to try for Austen adaptation next is mockumentary.

But we already have vlogs! You'll say. And I answer "I need a period setting mockumentary. No explanation as to how it is possible. Add a fun layer of absurd to it"

So many of the adaptation problems of novels like MP and S&S could be solved using this format. Fanny is too shy and quiet? Make it an embarrassed talking head where she says nothing. Pan to her reactions in chaotic scenes. Give me Mrs Norris getting on the carriage after Sotherton with all her packages, then smash cut to a talking head of how she got the goods.

Don't get me started on S&S. That one would be a riot. The absolute chaos of crazy zooms in all directions at the dinner party where Mrs Ferrars snubs Elinor's work as John tries to sell Elinor to Brandon. Give me reactions to Brandon's visit to Marianne where a curt Elinor gives a talking head like "poor man. He'll never recover from that loss of his youth. How sad." And Mrs Dashwood is all sighs and "ah, how romantic to see a man head over heels in love. He cannot keep it contained inside!" and then Brandon gives a "why? I'm glad Miss Marianne looks so much recovered, indeed I'm glad" with zero self consciousness.

But also... you know Elinor and Edward's proposal and how in the novel it purposefully happens off-screen? You can do that as well!! He leaves the room, she leaves the room, we hear the sobs, zoom in on Mrs Dashwood and Marianne's surprised/amused faces, then the front door closing again, linger a little.... SMASH CUT to talking heads of Elinor and Edward sitting very close to stay in frame, staring at each other and grinning like idiots, he kisses her hand, boom!

Thinking about Ghost spending his years in the military being referred to as a mutt or an attack dog and hating the title. It always felt dehumanizing and reinforced his thoughts of simply being a weapon.

But then one day, a few months after he meets Soap, one of the recruits decides to piss him off. The recruit makes some shitty comment about Soap, and Ghost is in his face in a second with a barley repressed snarl and a deadly look in his eyes that translates pretty clearly to "fuck off now."

After that the recruits are definitely talking about him and the sergeant, and he ends up hearing them refer to him as "Soap's guard dog" and for some reason that doesn't bother him nearly as much as it should.

A week later when he hears a recruit call him "MacTavish's lap dog", he can't help the blush that lights up his face and oh fuck he likes that way too much.

And if Soap has him on his knees that night telling him how good of a puppy he is, well nobody needs to know.
