teruki week 2024: happy birthday teruki

the second two outfits were inspired by teruki week day 2: school/festival. on the first fit teru is wearing a torn version of his school uniform. he smiles while rocking his head back and forth. mob comments "rock n' roll". on the second fit teru wears viana do Castelo's typical women clothing, nowadays just worn for an anual parade. red cloth on his head, large golden earings and necklaces. red shawl over a white shirl. large red apron over a black skirt. white socks and black shoes. mob comments "wow."

the third two outfits were inspired by teruki week day 3: star/copy. on the first fit teru wears a sparkly five point star around his head, star sunglasses, a pink top, jeans with two big sparkly stars over each knee and a lot of small stars all over, pink high heels. he wears bracelets similar to his head apparatus. mob comments "shinny." on the second fit there are two teru's each wearing outfits only differing in color, with only the shorts being the same. a top over a t-shirt over a long-sleeve shirt. shorts over leggings and sneakers. mob comments "maybe the shorts on the left…"

mob is sitting on the dressing room bench. his phone is either still ringing or ringing again. up to interpretation.

the fourth two outfits were inspired by teruki week day 4: official art/omake. the first fit comes from official art. purple and blue cap, green jacket over a white shirt with a lemon pattern. red shorts over greyscale camouflage leggings. green and yellow sneakers. none of these colors go well together. mob comments "fun." on the second fit teru is wearing a beach outfit. shirtless with blue beach shorts and green sandals. he has colorful necklaces and bracelets. with his right he's grabbing abucket with a shovel inside. on his head he's balancing a beach ball wearing heart sunglasses. mob comments "careful"

the fifth two outfits were inspired by teruki week day 5: hair/trauma. in the first fit teru is wearing a crazy wig that covers his upperbody and arms. it has four ponytails and is covered in braids. it also gives him a large moustache. he's wearing red leggings and green shoes. mob comments "hairy". the second fit is a brocolli and boots. both meet at his calves. his arms are free but his hands have smaller brocolli over them. this is the only fit mob doesn't comment on.

mob is sitting on the bench when teruki grabs him while saying "C'MON". mob replies "huh?!" and teru answers "you didn't really though i was buying just for me?!"

the last outfit was inspired by teruki week day 6: protagonist/rival. mob is the one wearing it. mob's outfit is a clash of colors and patterns. sweater with a star design around the neck. the neck is red, the star is orange and the rest of the sweater is yellow ith green stripes and dots. pink bell bottoms with bright pink stars. teru is showering mob in compliments. he drowns himself in dread thinking "i should have known kageyama-kun would have looked amazing regardless of what he wears. those clothes are too bold even for me but he dawns the clothes i picked with such ease. i have lost again. he is my rival even in fashion sense. there is no way i could have ever won against him…"

the next two apges are the aftermath of the shopping spree. mob and teru laugh and walk with multiple bags, teru carrying two and mob carrying the rest on his arms. happy, teru looks up and then at mob. he says "thank you for getting some time to spend on my birthday with me. i know you have a busy life". mob blushes and turns away saying " no problem. i like spending time with you…" mob phone rings again. teru points at it and says: "there goes your phone again". mob makes all his left arm bag levitate and uses it to open the phone. mob clarifies "just master reigen. there'sa complicated client . he keeps texting in case i need to go there" out of view teru comments "it's nice he calls in advance" to wich mob throws a side-eye. mob looks surprised at his phone, grabs teru and screams "we have to go!!" mob and teru run with the bags floating around them. teru goes up the satirs to reigen's office. out of view mob says "prepare for anything!" teru grabs the door handle and opens the door. inside reigen, serizawa, tome, ritsu and the awakening lab kids scream "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" reigen is holding a cake with 15 candles. end ID]

" For reals, you've done this before right. Don't fuck it up I swear to god I will cry I'm dealing with enough shit right now babe." " You're the one that asked me to do this for you, have some trust in me."

You comb through his braid and neatly section if off one last time before slapping on the DIY at home bleach. After getting kicked out of his old band Kayn wanted a full makeover, so with five boxes of bleach and some whining he convinced you to help him bleach and dye his hair. You stood awkwardly behind him as you comb in the bleach. Kayn wasn't wearing a shirt, so that he wouldn't ruin any tees. So it was quite a sight, hair down, topless, you pause for a bit and stare. After some thinking you sigh, you were going to miss his blue and black hair...it was so soft too...

" Hey I heard that sigh! You know I HAVE to do this...I want to change my image, show them I'm better without them!"

Kayn pouts, you see it in the mirror and laugh. Slapping on more bleach, sectioning it out and complaining once again bout how the long hair sticks to the gloves and makes it all messy. But ok, you work hard, with a roll of aluminum foil ready you neatly bleach his long hair. As you wait for the first bleaching to set in you throw a little of the leftovers on your hair too, just enough for one strip.

" Should we match colors?"

You see Kayn visibly perk up as he hears your suggestion.

" Really? I think that will be cute. Like a cringey couple."

He smirks, leaning back to take a good look at you in the toilet mirror. He starts laughing loudly.

" Wait are you copying me or making fun of me! Why bleach that same chunk of hair as the old me!"

The two of you chat for a bit as you wait for the bleach to set in, when times up you help him wash it all off in the tub. Damn his hair was really such a dark black, it was just brown now. You comment about it needed a few more rounds of bleach. Kayn sighs this time instead, exhausted already but his rockstar image was at stake, he wanted to look cool so he had to do this. He had a goal already, an ombre fade of pink and purple, it would be so cool. Sitting back down, you blow dry his hair and start on round two.

And round three. Orange.

And four. Yellow.

And five before the yellow finally lifts enough! You were finally free from seeing that yellow, orange hue! And-

Oh no. You look at a handful of hair in your hands from where you combed through his hair.

" Kayn I am so sorry..." " No! I cannot deal with this right now please. Y/N Tell me its fine." " I'll fix it!"

You too were unsure how to react, were you going to cry or laugh. After five bleaches, his hair kinda...fried off. Ah...you were REALLY going to miss his long hair. Promising to fix it, you grab some hair scissors and did your best. With Kayn doing everything to hold himself together while you save what you can and work out a messy cut. It actually looked really good. You tell him to look up as you blow dry his hair yet again. Promising it wasn't as bad as he thought it was going to be. Kayn tentatively pulls his hands away from his face as he looks at himself in the mirror. A smile slowly creeping across his face.

" Oh shit you really did fix it? The hell Y/N! Let's dye it right now! I still want that pink purple thing going down!"

He tilts his head left and right, trying to get a better look at it, an idol worthy style. Kayn nods, happy with what you've done with it. Quickly you work the colors onto his hair and yours. Laughing together as he admires himself in the mirror. Half an hour passes and you wash his hair and dry it off for the last time. Kayn himself also helping to wash the and dry your hair. You smile as the two of you admire your reflections.

" Is it me or are we looking super hot?"

He snakes and arm around your waist, pulling you close. Giving your cheek a quick kiss.

" I actually like this a lot I'm glad it worked out. Thank you Y/N."

Kayn gives you a warm smile as he runs his hands through his hair, giving it a little shake as it falls gracefully along his jawline. He turns his attention back to the mirror before he shouts.

" Oh shit yeah! Let me snap a photo!"

Kayn leaves the room for a bit, grabbing his phone and a nice shirt to snap a photo in. He returns, hand draped around your shoulder as he takes a mirror selfie with you both. The largest smile plastered on his face as he sits down and edits it to use as his new wallpaper. You would mourn his pretty braid but...he was still your charming boyfriend you could live with the new style. The short hair was starting to grow on your after all.

OMORI and colour- an analysis

hey, so this is a post I’ve been wanting to make for a while and never got round to doing, but here I am.

Something I noticed in OMORI and have continued to notice throughout the game is the symbolism between colours and characters, and what they say about their relationships or their mannerisms, because there’s actually a LOT there, more than I expected.

keep in mind this is a pretty basic analysis and I’m sure there’s much more to be discovered, but I haven’t fully learned everything there is to know about colour theory and so this isn’t really my field of knowledge, I just wanted to share my findings.

also, spoilers ahead, so beware!

Filling in the wheel

This is a basic colour wheel, and the model I will be referring to throughout this analysis.

in OMORI, and even in external items outside of the game like merchandise each of the main cast are associated with a specific colour.

for example, SUNNY is associated commonly with yellow throughout the game. Here’s a small chart I made to keep track of my references…

I’m sure there’s more but here’s what I’ve got.

so now we know where sunny stands on the colour wheel, in the yellow region.

the rest of the cast can be easily identified on the wheel- KEL clearly falls into orange, HERO clearly falls into blue, MARI clearly falls into purple, BASIL clearly falls into green and AUBREY clearly falls into pink.

But wait, that’s not the complete wheel.

you’ll notice AUBREY’s positioning differs from the rest of the group, and that’s because I’ve specifically put HEADSPACE AUBREY in that section. Where REAL WORLD AUBREY actually falls is on the red segment of the wheel as that colour is better associated with her emotional state and also slots her better into place on the wheel.

So that means the rest of these midtones represent the rest of the HEADSPACE counterparts, right?

You’ll notice one more blank space, but let’s put that one aside for now. We’ll fill it in later. For now let’s begin to focus on the relationships between these segments on the wheel.

Complementary colours

Complementary colours are defined as “pairs of colours which, when combined or mixed, cancel each other out (lose hue) by producing a grayscale color like white or black. When placed next to each other, they create the strongest contrast for those two colors. Complementary colours may also be called "opposite colours"”.

in other words, these colours complement each other, and are paired together as they are the most striking next to one another. They are opposites, but belong together.

so, who do we have complementing on our OMORI wheel?

Now, this is quite complicated to look at but I’m going to use what I think is probably the most important relationship in the game and use it as an example.

MARI is commonly associated with purple throughout the game, so much so that it’s constantly in our faces. The main colour for SUNNY’s headspace where he escapes the tragedy of what happened to her is purple, AUBREY laments about a lost promise of dying their hair purple and pink together, MARI gets a grape flavoured (purple) popsicle in one of the photos in BASIL’s album, etc. she’s very clearly shown to be “purple”symbolically throughout the game, no question there.

and as for SUNNY, as we’ve gone over earlier, he is represented by yellow.

so when we reference our colour wheel once having placed these two in their respective spots, what do we see?

MARI and SUNNY complement one another.

And we see this consistently for other key or contrasting relationships through the game. HERO and KEL complement both in the REAL WORLD and HEADSPACE, and so do AUBREY AND BASIL.

They are shown to complement each other, when placed with their associated colours on the wheel.

so, what about STRANGER? Who does he complement with? After all the segment opposing him is empty.

I feel as though there’s only one answer which makes sense for the game.

OMORI complements STRANGER and STRANGER complements OMORI.

but, for OMORI, this seems out of character. The character itself is typically associated with black to represent the repression of the truth and also the darkness behind his actions to keep SUNNY guarded from the truth, so this warm colour feels out of place.

but looking deeper into the symbolism, I disagree. Orange itself represents liveliness, optimism, and enthusiasm, which I think represents HEADSPACE. However red, while associated with anger for AUBREY, is more commonly associated with danger and most importantly sacrifice.

As well as this, this specific hue shows to carry more of a red pigment than an orange.

so I believe this can represent this distracting and overwhelming joy of HEADSPACE whilst having great sinister undertones just Millimeters beneath the surface, something very fitting for OMORI as he’s portrayed in the game. (Side note: I don’t think OMORI is evil, by the way. I’m talking about his actions and portrayal in contrast to HEADSPACE, nor his intentions. I view OMORI more as a robotic kind of character than anything but that’s an analysis for another day.)

so, in conclusion, there’s a lot to be told from this wheel. Here’s a finished polished version for anyone who wants to use it, including some extra notes I didn’t discuss here. If there is anything at all you want me to elaborate on or go more in depth into, or just neglected to discuss at all, please let me know! Thank you for reading!

I've been doing another attempted dive in figuring out clothing for the Mycenaean era, so for me and anyone else who's interesting in trying to use that when drawing Greek myth art: some notes on the colour used for clothing!

-Obviously qualifications are needed; these are all taken from fresco paintings, which means the context displayed on them might not be exactly "every day" ones, and it's all elite people, too (but that isn't to say regular-ass people might not have access to some dyed fabric).

That said.

Just for two quick examples (though missing the tiered/flounced skirt that was usual for women). "Detailed" will mean either patterns on the fabric itself or the heavy borders at arms or down the sides/front of the dress/tunic.

For women, you see blue and pink (like above lol), detailed either in white or black. (Blue+pink is also a combination you often see in later centuries, Classical Greece and forward for women). Red and blue, either with one or the other as detailing for the other, or in combination (alternate tiers on the tiered/flounced skirts, red jacket/tunic with blue sections on a tiered skirt etc) is usual too. Yellow/orange/saffron, detailed in red or black, is another really usual colour too. (White+blue is another one, and I don't want to make some definitive statement or anything but with the situations they seem to be occurring in it might be religious. The red+blue is also very usual in those circumstances; we see both of these colour combinations on a fresco portraying women painted around a shrine.)

For men, you again have the yellow/orange/saffron, detailed in black or silver/white (I don't think I've seen red). Talking of red - men do not seem to be wearing it? At the absolute most (and they were Minoan frescos, not mainland Mycenaean ones) red seemed to be only used as detailing, together with white. Men also wear blue, however! Detailed, again, in black or white usually. White (presumably undyed/plain white wool or linen), is another usual colour, detailed in black. Very often you see this in conjunction with battle scenes, so quilted linen as part of armour might be being displayed.

For Hittites, if you'd want to try to lean into that for the Trojans, there's not much colour to go on on surviving artefacts, but from one of the books I've read about Hittite society, this was what the author mentioned in terms of colour for clothing: red, blue, green, purple (with black, red, blue, white and yellow as detailing?) Obviously, the purple is only for royalty/very rich elites. (Green seems to be missing entirely from Mycenaen/Minoan clothing.)

Talking of purple, it's very absent in Mycenaean art, but presumably it would have had some presence in the fabrics of at least royalty - both imported and potentially local, because around Kythera/Lakedaimon's shores there's proof of processing of the snail that gave purple.

Cardverse AU

Hi y'all! I've been working on this AU for almost a month now, so I really hope y'all like it as much as I do!

A basic explanation is that Cardverse is an AU based on the 4 card suits. Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs.

There are usually 3 major roles like the cards, Kings, Queens, and Jacks. There are also Jokers but i haven't drawn them yet

I decided to split the choir all up based on their connections, and I wanted to add Tammy and Ezra too just to make them all an even 12

Details of my eternal brainrot below:

First of all, they're all organized by rank but if you see the colors, they're already assigned to one of the 4 card suits: Blue and Purple shades for Spades, Pink and Red for Hearts, Orange and Yellow for Diamonds, and every shade of green for Clubs.

•Kings are primarily in charge of both the kingdom and are the generals of their own armies

DO NOT ADJUST YOUR TELEVISION SETS

How to make an RGB classic CRT monitor glitch effect

This looks awesome in pixel/block art of any kind, cross-stitching etc. and it’s way easier to pull off than you’d think. …Unless you’re colourblind, in which case best of luck to you and godspeed.

You’ll need an art program that can handle a few layers, has transparency options, and that’s it. (But a squared drawing guide can also help keep things neat.)

First you need your line work. I’ve used text, but any line-work will do. For this it’s best to be a single colour, because we’re going to recolour it a few times.

If you’ve got a palette, set up your colours. In hexidecimal it’s going to be every combination of FF and 00:

Red - FF0000, Green - 00FF00, Blue - 0000FF, Magenta - FF00FF, Yellow - FFFF00, Aqua - 00FFFF, White - FFFFFF, Black - 000000.

I suggest a plain black background while you work, and a pink guide.

Now you’re going to want to:

Duplicate this for three total (four if you want to keep your original)

Recolour each layer in this order from topmost: Blue, Green, Red.

Reduce both the Green and Blue layer’s transparency to 50%.

You should now have something like this.

Now we’re going to move the layers.

Red stays where the base line art was. Green moves down one pixel/block. Blue moves down two pixels/blocks. Which will give you something like this:

Now CREATE A NEW LAYER *cough* which I’ve never forgotten to do or have trauma about.

You can see how it’s starting to take shape.

This is where the work comes in as you go to work and go over what you see. Now Red, Green, and the darker Blue are obvious. But if you look closer you’ll see a gold that will be your Yellow, a purple that will be your Magenta, and a slightly off-blue that is going to be your Aqua. The lightest blue is in fact going to be your White. I suggest doing Blue, then Aqua, then White so as not to get too confused by their similarities.

(You might temporarily reduce the transparency of the red layer as you do that colour specifically, but you will need it at 100% for the future colours.)

Yes it’s going to look like garbage and like it’s absolutely never going to work and you must be doing something wrong or it’s too small or something. No. Persevere. Let the magic happen.

Your zoomed in work should now look something like this or even more illegible:

But when you turn off the line guide and zoom out…

Your eyes pull a very clever trick on you, and now the image is discernible again!

You can also do the trick horizontally as well, as best fits the piece:

And if you want to do a bodge version of the glitchy sideways bits, you want to cut out a small section and move it over say by three pixels/blocks. And you can put some pixels randomly about. If you are going to do it in a more complicated area/piece, because colours are going to overlap, you may want to go back and move the base layers to ensure you are getting the ‘correct’ colours when they mix.

(It’s tricky to pull off on one as busy as this but you get the idea).

An Analysis Through Color of the 2023 Driver Helmets

During a Grand Prix weekend, drivers are often fitted in team kits when not in the car and when they are in the car they wear the race suits. The one big method of showing creativity and expressing one's personal beliefs is the helmets that they wear.

Typically designed by the driver based on things that are important to them or they like, the helmets allow us to visualize driver personalities and differentiate them from their teammate. Every driver has one "normal" helmet that is run for almost every Grand Prix, but they can also decide to have "special" helmets for some races.

While the design of the helmets tells us many things about a driver, the colors that are used also hold significance.

Data Collection

The analysis is based on the most common colors used on the "normal" helmets. "Normal" is characterized as the regular helmet that a driver is using and has no track-specific features. Some key points to take into consideration were:

The helmets analyzed included Nyck De Vries, Daniel Ricciardo, and Liam Lawson since all three have raced in the AlphaTauri for more multiple races -> therefore had a "normal" helmet they ran

George Russell's green helmet from testing and the Bahrain Grand Prix was not used as he has primarily used the blue version of it for most of the season

With Daniel Ricciardo's helmets, he has variations of the honey badger on the back that are track specific, however, the rest of the helmet is typically the normal white/beige/dark blue scheme so colors for the honey badger were not included

Valtteri Bottas has had many, many helmet designs this season, almost one for every race, but there is a helmet that he's used without any track-specific imagery that was used for this

After looking at the 22 "normal" helmets run by the drivers, I compiled a list of every color that was used. The colors compiled in the list had to either:

Appear in a decently sized section on the helmet - so it couldn't be a color that just appeared in a sponsor logo

Stand out in the helmet design - so a light gray on a white background wouldn't count, but the colors of the Ferrari logo against a red background would count

In the case of lights or darks, it needed to significantly different from a normal shade of the color - so blue and dark blue (which was significantly darker) would count as separate colors or yellow and neon yellow would be two different colors

Results

Based on these two requirements, there were 16 distinct colors found on the 22 helmets.

White

Red

Black

Yellow

Blue

Gold

Beige

Of the 78 values collected for this, the most common colors to appear on the helmets are white (15 or 19.2%), red (12 or 15.4%), and black (9 or 11.5%).

Furthermore, after this, the colors were divided into one of four categories:

Warm

Cool

Neutral

Mixed

31 of the values were warm colors (red, orange, yellow, etc). 25 of the values were neutral (black, white, and beige). 21 of the values were cool colors (blue, green, purple, etc.) The rainbow was defined as a mixed color.

So what does this all mean?

It could mean nothing and I'm just overanalyzing, but that explanation isn't as fun.

Drivers generally implemented their team colors in their helmets - for 8 out of 10 teams, at least one driver had colors (non-neutrals such as black or white) in their helmet design.

All four AlphaTauri drivers used the same dark blue on the sides of the helmet and had the team logo. With the exception of Nyck De Vries, the dark blue for the AlphaTauri was not used in the other design elements of the helmets.

Both Red Bull drivers had the Red Bull logo in the team colors on the sides of their helmets and the team colors could be seen in other parts of the helmet designs as well

Mercedes is one of two teams to not have at least one driver with the team colors implemented (with the exception of the silver Mercedes logo). Neither driver had the Petronas green implemented in their helmet design. However, it is noteworthy that the colors of the driver helmets are implemented into the cars through the colors for driver numbers and the halo stripe.

The other team with neither driver implementing the main team colors in their helmets is Alpine. Neither driver has blue or pink in their helmet design, but they do both have red, which is featured in the French flag.

Lance Stroll's helmet is just the Aston Martin colors. As the team owner's son, it makes sense.

White and black on the helmets tended to be used as lines to make different designs or as negative space. Across the board, white and black are not the main for driver helmets. They're just the only two colors that will easily go along with every other color used.

Unsurprisingly, both Ferrari drivers wear helmets that heavily feature the color red. They drive the red car and the flags they drive under feature red. So where red is meant to draw attention, the red in their helmets doesn't. Instead, their red helmets blend them into the cars they drive, taking away the thing that is supposed to separate them from the car. Furthering the idea that with Ferrari it is the team above the individual. When you drive for Ferrari, that is your whole brand, you don't distract or take away from that.

Additionally, drivers mainly used primary colors for their helmets this year. There's very little foraying into secondary or tertiary colors. Which continues to be one of my aesthetic qualms with Formula 1 in general. We see so many of the same colors (especially red, blue, and black) so things kind of just blend together instead of standing out.

acid dyes in squirt bottles

I didn't take great pictures. I thought I had but I'm going back through and I just didn't take the ones I thought I had.

So, to start, I used the bottles you can buy from dharma, because I was ordering stuff from them anyway. I'd also gotten one of their kits on a clearance thing so I had gloves and rubber bands and such to hand.

So here's the only one I photographed in-progress. It's a scarf, about eight by 32 inches or so? To the left it's pale yellow, then it's orange, then red, then fuschia, and then black at the far left end.

I had four bottles, so I had yellow, red, fuschia, and black in the bottles by this point. But I had two different colors of yellow dye, and I wanted a very pale color on the extreme end of this one. So I mixed up some of the pale-pale yellow in a plastic takeout soup container and dabbed it on with a spoon. I kept the right end of the scarf slightly elevated, so none of the darker dyes would run along under the underside of the scarf into that yellow section.

I've found that squirting two colors next to each other doesn't blend them very smoothly-- which is an effect to play with, but. I wanted a gradation, so I experimented, and smooshing the scarf around with a spoon carefully can do it, but the thing i settled on for this one was putting a lot of yellow and a tiny bit of red from the squirt bottles into another plastic soup container and then applying drops of that mixture with a spoon in the middle where I wanted them to meet, to get a better orange. (My motivation was partly that the intended recipient of this scarf loves orange, so ymmv with this technique.)

I did do one scarf where I did not attempt to blend colors but squirted them as standalones. I'd done a tub-dye in a pot on the stove of a brilliant blue, and I'd done some shibori-tyeing of scarves in that bath earlier, and they were out and drying while I did this. one of them, i'd tied far too well, and it had large expanses of white and then some very dark blue banding, and I decided that was too much white left for me. So I took that one and overdyed it with the squirt bottles, in all the white areas, in random splotches. To get green for this I did just get the tiniest amount of green dye powder and mix it up in a soup container and apply it with a spoon, because I did not have another squirt bottle.

A bit gaudy but kind of cool, I'm giving it as a gift to a preteen girl whose wardrobe I think it will compliment, but would have worn it myself. Couldn't get a pure yellow because the white areas had backstained pale blue in the rinsing, but the sort of violent chartreuse here is fun.

The black dried to a purplish-gray color, so next time I should do actual math on the dye amounts. I do own a kitchen scale and had intended to use it to weigh the fiber and the powder, like the tutorials say to do, but *jazz hands* my kitchen is tore upppp and everything I own is in boxes, so where that scale ended up the sweet lord only knows and I will find out before I do my next batch of this.

(the reader can swap in whatever entity they prefer for "the sweet lord" because i am actually not specifying, I don't want to know what kind of entity is tracking the belongings nominally in my possession because obviously they are not on speaking terms with me and won't tell me where any of that stuff is no matter how nicely and desperately I've implored, over the years, so I just assume we're not friends. I will reciprocate the disinterest, politely, as that seems wisest.)

And finally, for a bonus shot, here's a shibori-dyed silk/wook scarf I'm *very* pleased with, which I achieved using the blocks of wood the kit came with, accordion-folded it between and rubber-banded around it, simmered it in the acid dye according to directions, and then rinsed it. It was originally a really striking white in the excluded patches, but one of the other scarves it was rinsed with had a lot of excess dye still in it, so it backstained the white of this scarf, which I actually prefer somewhat.

The blue dyebath, I hadn't measured the pigment into and it had way too much. So I came back the next day and threw in some habotai yardage, loosely gathered and folded and then rubberbanded along its length, and then I had a wool/nylon dress that had become stained so I threw it in too, scrunching and rubberbanding it because I knew it wouldn't dye evenly. (There was already some acid in the dyebath from the previous use, which I think encourages it to strike fast, that's why they have you put the item in and simmer it a little before adding the acid? this is something I've surmised, so I might be wrong, but I just felt like I wasn't going to get a good solid color from this bath so I'd better tie-dye on purpose and hope for a cool accidental result.)

I was busy, so I turned the heat off after half an hour and let the goods sit in the bath until it went cold, and when I went to pour it out, the dyebath was completely, entirely, one hundred percent clear, clearer than the previous day's rinse water.

The yardage came out glorious:

As for Professor Pisces, she's basically the same. I could make her a mermaid, but I feel like keeping her as a regular fish that's just sapient would be funnier. Besides, she know has an entire section of the school she can swim around in freely~! Yeah, I'll be getting to that eventually.

Finally, I've gotten this list all done and typed! Not lying, this took me literal days to finish since I couldn't think of monsters for some girls and kept switching species around! Luckily, the people I've asked say this list is good, which at least gives me some hope that I made the right choices for these characters. I'm not gonna lie, I can't wait to make spec evo bios for these girls and go into the culture and worldbuilding for monster/non-human societies~! And I'm gonna remake my old Bios now that there are more characters and I have some new abilities for them~! But for now, hold on tight, because this AU Revamp is just getting started!

;) here’s a completely normal Monster High AU where absolutely nothing bad happens (it is comically obvious that I am lying)

“However, the one uninfected part of Frankie, their hand, managed to be removed before it could be infected too, and is now the only part of Frankie controlled by them. Luckily Ghoulia was able to teach them mourse code. They usually just hang around Clawdeen whenever she’s at Monster High as Frankie isn’t allowed to leave.”

“Clawdeen Wolf.

Status: Uninfected

Clawdeen is in charge of the usual patrols outside Monster High, which has been converted into a shelter for survivors. Clawdeen looks around for other survivors in hopes of finding her family, and later Draculaura when she goes missing too.” End ID.]

It has been 2 weeks since the Power Wasting Curse started spreading, and a week ago Draculaura went missing while on one of Clawdeen’s trips. They were forced to abandon her to get Lagoona back to safety, to Clawdeen’s distress. Since infected vampires eventually turn to dust and no one’s found any trace of her most monsters other than Clawdeen think she’s dead.” End ID.]

While not patient zero, Deuce was one of the first people to get infected. Patient zero had gone missing in the catacombs and Deuce had gone to look for them. The infection messed up Deuce’s natural protection against his eyes, though luckily all that did was turn his eyes to stone, blinding him. Other infected gorgons have been killed by the infection, but somehow, Deuce is still alive, though he’s certainly not in there anymore.” End ID.]

Here it is. The Monster High infection AU, or I guess, curse AU, so I didn’t have to worry about the fact that logically 60% of the cast would not be able to get sick. At all. If you have any questions I’d be happy to share!

finally finished the cast as animals!! i started this on the first day of January and just started to finish everyone up-

very happy with everyone's designs and i can't wait to draw them more :D
