Update - 2nd year anniversary! (plus a reflection, and future plans).
Hi everyone! π here.
Today, May 13th, is the day I officially opened up this blog and began writing degenerate and immoral stories! 2 fucking years have passed, how time flies. So much can change in a year, and so do some of the stats!

I don't want to make the fun section of the update elaborately long, so I just want to say thank you so much to everyone for the support! Even though I'm not as active or as productive as I used to be, your eagerness never wavered, and you guys enjoy me talking about random shit on the side, whether it be song lyrics, Pokémon, or literally posts without any context to them. I love you guys. Here's to another year 🧡
Everything else from this point is a brief reflection and introspection of what I've been feeling since then. You can ignore this if you wish to do so.
So today marks the second anniversary since I opened up this Tumblr and became a degenerate writer. The work I've been putting up is getting worse—in a sexual and filthy way, not objectively—and my mental health has been getter much, much better! When I made the same anniversary post around this time a year ago, I was at an all-time low, mentally speaking. I really felt like I had not much left to give at that point, my skill has stagnated, and I thought there wasn't much for me to improve on. If you asked me if I had any future plans for this blog, I'd say I'd be done by the end of 2022, if not sooner.
It's now 2023, and I believe I'm as good as I can be right now. Slumps happen for a reason, and you can't always win, but it's how you bounce back from the lowest of lows that you reach highest of highs. And I believe I can still get better.
Genuinely, not to sound arrogant, because Lord knows I'm not the best fanfic writer—fuck no—I'm not anywhere close, even in a theoretical top 1000 list, but I do think some of my finest work have come up in my most recent fics. I don't know, it feels more polished and there was more effort and deliberation put into it. The numbers don't lie, either; every single work I published since May 2022 has over 400+ notes, and I've even passed the 1000+ note barrier twice! It goes to show that you guys are enjoying what I'm putting out as much as I love making them, slow and difficult it may be. I can fondly smile at last year's additions to my masterlist and say, "I can't believe I did that."
I do want to apologize if my output rate has drastically slowed down, and if I'm not as active as I was before. It's unfortunately part of the sacrifice needed for better quality control, and also because I have more personal commitments to attend to. 2023 has been fantastic for me so far in almost every department, except maybe physically—I could use more exercise—but that can be worked upon.
I do believe I'm on borrowed time. Again, look at the gap between fics over the past six months ago, and it's only going to widen once I enter my third year of college. I also have to begin considering what hobbies and other things I should do to occupy my free time, so I can be more productive as a person. This isn't to say I'm definitely quitting, but I expect more responsibilities to be shouldered onto me in the future, and having time for myself is going to be pretty much a birthday gift with how rare it might be given, and I'd prefer spending my time off recharging and relaxing instead of stressing over inconsequential or 'fun' things.
There's a lot of people I want to thank specifically, because while I was struggling with my own personal battles, they've been encouraging me to continue fighting and have been absolute lads—and lasses—throughout the past year. When I needed someone to talk to that wasn't my therapist, they were there, and I took solace in their comfort and companionship. I can't tag you guys, but if you're reading this—Chunk, Raf, Peach, Aaron, Sol, V1n, Iz, Ddeun, C.o, Kaede, Frisky, Smite, Shaun, Sins, Jett, Eros, Prael, Ken, Cray, CJ, Sooya, Gray, Svn—I sincerely thank you. God bless each and every single one of you. And to Tim, I really hope you can see this, but I'm truly, truly sorry. I hope we can find a way to bury that fracture in our relationship in the past, and we can reconcile. If not, then I just want closure and peace for the both of us.
So in closing, I want to thank you so much for sticking with me through the bad times and prospering with me through the good, and I'm always humbled that you've taken a chance on me when I started, when I was a hopeful newbie, two years ago. Now here we are. I appreciate every single one of you, be it a fellow writer, a reader, or a lurker.

💜 icon: pete saengtham set - this set was a BEAST to make (the first gif alone took me two days to get the way i wanted it kdfshfj), but i love the way it turned out! i set out to really let loose with typography and animation and transitions, and i think i pulled it off.
🧡 only friends + iphones set - when @cal-kestis shared her template for her incredible iphone sets, i had to give it try! coming up with different color combos and thinking about what the characters would prioritize on their phones was a lot of fun.
💖 emotions: love + uncertainty (sand x ray, only friends) set - this set reinvented itself a few times bc i wanted it to express what was happening between sand and ray at the time it was being posted. i'm often inspired by music, and when 'do i wanna know' by arctic monkeys played in one of my mixes, i knew that had to be the basis. that sand mentions liking arctic monkeys in the show only helped fuel that. i was inspired by this set, esp by the second to last gif, and i wanted a similar effect for my set. it took FOREVER to get it (mostly) the way i wanted it, because i had to just. figure it out? it's not as seamless as it is in the inspiration set, but i think i did okay?
💛 sand x ray, only friends (inspired by this beautiful set by @seamayweed) aka the kintsugi set - i fell in love with sea's kintsugi set and when the prompt of 'inspiration' was announced for the userdramas event, i immediately thought of it. the timing coincided with eps 8 & 9 of only friends, and i was thinking about how ray has these 'cracks' and sand is the gold lovingly piecing them back together to help make something even more beautiful......that was corny as hell but that was the thought process. honestly? i think it turned out beautifully and i'm really proud of it.
❤️ halsey - finally // beautiful stranger (sand x ray, only friends) (tw cracked glass effect and flickering neon) - this was a birthday gift for my beloved @henwilsons, who loves sandray as well. she also likes halsey, so i combed thru some songs and finally (heh) decided to work with 'finally // beautiful stranger'. i feel like the mood and lyrics of the song mirror sand's feelings for ray: this beautiful stranger bulldozes his way into his life and he wants to believe they can just be friends, that sex between them won't change anything ('and i say i'm only playing'). but whoops he fucked around and fell in love. and he's been hurt but he can't help but want this man. (god these bozos mean so much to me.) i wanted the set to have a 'last call at the bar' kind of vibe, so i used deep blue and red and then paired that with neon lighting. the cracked glass effect to convey being terrified and hurt just made sense to me. i think it turned out nice, and mia really liked it, and that was the most important thing!
💚 put that blorbo under a microscope!: ray pakorn - she's new but i love her! like most a lot of my sets, i didn't have a solid idea in my head about what i wanted to do. i knew that i wanted to gif ray (he's such a dumpling), that the scene of ray and sand in the hallway of the rehab center with the green floral art behind them made me want to use green, and it evolved from there. infinite thanks go to @deokmis who patiently listened to me ramble about this and gave me valuable suggestions and feedback that made it so much better! i love this set and i'm obsessed with green now.
so there you go. yeah, i know. i did six sets. i couldn't choose and also i don't know how to shut up. don't be like me. be normal.

GONNA BE HONEST….. it’s a cop out answer but it really depends on what it is? bc for most things the answer is “they’re willing to do anything… as long as chen wouldn’t order them to stand down for it” . but for certain fun things. like taking the fight to mother dearest. the answer is “genuinely the only way ur going to stop them is by killing them”
6. How easily could your OC be convinced to do something that goes against their moral compass?
someone who fawn deems responsible for their actions (ie north inside the farm, chen/ric outside of it) could order it from them, but for actually Convincing ?? I’d say probs 50-50
they Are still a sidestep so u have to put up w that classic stubbornness (trying to make them do smth they don’t want ?? c’mon) but fawn’s Personal moral compass probs allows way more shit than you’d expect. so like… probs a really good argument could sway them in your favor but it might also just make them yell at u a bunch

above all else !!!!! they want to be seen as a good person who is deserving of love <3
“I thought they wanted to be seen as a hero” WRONG. well. not wrong. but being a hero is actually just an extension of them wanting to be seen and valued as Good.

fun fact !! we have thought abt it and decided it involves Quite A Bit of screaming (and sometimes angry-crying!) and furiously yanking at their own hair (w the intent of causing pain to try and let themself feel in control of literally anything) 😌 it’s an emotion they tend to associate w feeling helpless (bc anger just takes up SO MUCH of their emotional processing when it hits) so they basically try to burn it up out of their system asap
and before you ask: yes absolutely ric Has been on the receiving end of a screaming match and come away w the claw marks of trying to physically restrain them from doing it <3
25. What is your favorite thing about your OC?

I think we very much have a soft spot for their weird relationship towards being a villain ?? where they both accept it as being what fate has planned for them while also being so clearly unwilling to go along w it ?? trying at every opportunity to mitigate the damages as much as possible even when it not only doesn’t benefit but even genuinely works Against whatever plan they had in motion (ie saving people at carter’s mansion -> oops! back to square one)
fawn being a villain is truly just when a dog asks to go for a walk and then the entire walk is u dragging them by the leash bc they don’t want to anymore

I have a couple more asks I my box and I am so happy y'all wanna know about my bebbies?! I will get to all the questions but realized I need a lot more time answering these than I thought 😅
So here goes for the first round!
4. How do they compare to each other's exes? Are they the same "type" or an upgrade/something different?
They both feel they upgraded 🧡
Vinnie feels cared for, accepted for who he is and loved. Macha feels loved up, seen and appreciated.
Macha had two long-term serious relationships, but there wasn't a lot of love involved. Both of these men chose her more for status reasons than love. And she settled for them because she grew up thinking she didn't have much choice or say in what was happening in her life. It seemed to happen to her. That second relationship ended with her barely alive, leaving Arasaka and the corpo world and deciding she would never again have life just happen to her.
(I will write more about that in the future)
Vinnie had one long-term relationship in his mid-twenties, it was a pretty topic relationship with lots of fights and drama. After that, he was heartbroken. This and the loss of his parents made him develop commitment issues. He decided to not let anyone near him and just have fun with whoever fit his flavor of the day palette.
(If we're talking looks, Vinnie has always dated pretty folks - and Macha's looks were definitely what peaked his interes at first but not what made him fall in love, while Macha feels he's the most beautiful man she's ever seen and she was into him the minute she laid eyes on him.)
14. What little things remind them of each other?
Macha constantly listens to music, so she associates a lot of songs and lyrics with Vinnie and the feelings he evokes in her. He thinks of her whenever there are oranges around because that's what Machas perfume smells like. Also Kittens. They remind him of Macha bc that's his pet name for her (more on that in another ask) 😍
22. What's different about their backgrounds? Do those differences affect the relationship?
Macha grew up in a corpo environment, very privileged but also constrained. Vinnie grew up on the streets, basically. He lost his parents early in life, and his grandmother took him in. She couldn't reign him in, he was always out and about, getting in fights and doing dumb stuff. Macha had to be responsible from an early age because her parents were very focused on themselves. She learned all the stuff that makes a functioning adult, which Vinnie did not because his grandmother did all of the work for him and spoiled him. So, in their relationship, she is the adult, and he is the big kid. She learns to let loose more, though, and he... learns to cook more than just an omelet, which is literally the only thing he knew how to cook.
Also she takes him out to fancy restaurants and shows him the more bougie stuff, they have some hilarious dates, disturbing the quiet distinguished places of the city and he shows her all the secret hidden beautiful places he discovered just roaming the streets all his life.

I am so sorry I haven't responded to this yet. It's been a very busy week for me which is 'new' to me having been in a deep depressive slump for 6 years.
I'm not sure you want an essay on this so i'll try not to be as BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH as I normally am!
I was tangentially a Taylor Swift fan pre 1989. I liked singles, sang along to them. When Red came out was when I really started to pay attention (the pop sounds are more my taste certainly) but it wasn't just the pop that got me it was the riveting storytelling. WANEGBT is such a fun romp of a music video-which leads me to 1989.
Shake it Off: I was in my 30s when Shake it Off came out and it was such a great time, watching it take over and be played EVERYWHERE. It was not just an earworm, but (along with the video) made Taylor into a fool for herself. She was so totally self effacing that it made everyone fall in love with her and the music. She recognized herself as a clown-and the media's obsession with her was the circus. I have a whole essay that I came to tumblr to write about initially about how as a result of learning how to do this myself my job title literally got to be "Rockstar" (I worked as an IT Director at a national non profit)
Welcome to New York: An underrated song of the experience of moving to new york (something I too had done in my early 20s)
Blank Space: A brilliant satire and feminist critique of the narrative the world had built around her. A banger to boot. (And more making fun of her self) For years this was my favorite Taylor Swift song.
Style: Probably the sexiest song I know. The lines alone don't do it justice, but the way she sings "He said what you heard is true but I, can't stop thinking about you, and I, I say i been there too a few times" Is some deeply passionate relatable real romance. This wasn't the fairytale romance of "love story" this was people with chemistry who keep trying other things and keep being drawn back to each other. This wasn't just sex, this was magnetism and the tone she incants with it is so evocative.
Clean: Catharsis. A song that relates to addiction of any kind. "so i punched a hole in the roof" was more powerful than the climax any show or series i'd watched or read. It breaks me every time. It is the perfect end to the album.
(weird coincidence time: Wonderland was what I called the world that my boyfriend and I had built together as a safe retreat from the world. I have always had an Alice in Wonderland obsession, i have a whole spot in my house filled with Alice dolls and books. I bought this house because it had a cool display cabinet built into the front hall. I joined this fandom (april 14th) after breaking up with my boyfriend (on april 8th a few hours before the rumors about taylor and joe breaking up reached me) and losing my 'Wonderland'...I did not know literally, honestly till april 20th of this year that Taylor had a Wonderland on 1989. And then-as i was reeling from this information-the next night Taylor did Wonderland as her secret song.)
Wait I think I have failed at not writing an essay somehow.
Folklore is ...really raw for me right now? I have trouble thinking about it or talking about it because so much of my relationship is bound up in me using those songs to communicate how i was feeling with my ex.
Mirrorball was our love song though. A sad tragedy of me always spinning for him-desperate to keep his attention. It's beautiful but it's a terrible fate to always be working for the attention of one person and they're not working to get yours.

which is i guess where Hoax comes in. he never cheated on me-just, had lots of other stuff going on and didn't have as much time for me as I had for him? I was everything to him by words-but by actions and where he spent his time and how he spent his time....it was a faithless love and i desperately was begging him for a reason to stay in the relationship.
and Peace: I am a tormented woman. I have incredible gifts and love and sincerity in abundance, but my depression takes and takes and takes. There is no happy ending with me-there is little comfort to be found. And I could give love forever and never love myself.

8. tell me about your favorite band. go on infodump for me.
anyone who knows me knows that i uh kinda like fall out boy a little bit (read: a lot a bit). this blog started as a fall out boy bandom blog; if u go back far enough in the archive u get some wild love for music stuff.
BUT it’s on my mind after talking about album art so i’m gonna talk about troye sivan (technically not a band but close enough). so i got into troye in middle school ish and boy did i LATCH on to him. like. certifiably insane abt his music and yt channel. i was @ his first and second tours!! had the absolutely time of my life; fun fact, his first tour was my first concert.
but when wild was abt to come out, that boy did some crazy promo shit. he did one of those instagram countdowns but (a) wouldn’t tell us what it was for and (b) didn’t use numbers. he posted pictures of circles that gradually got either bigger or smaller idr which as his profile pic. he would drop pics of flower petals drifting across his insta page, which was completely whited out. there was no schedule or anything. he just did it.
THEN for blue neighborhood, i lost my shit even MORE. he sent us (fans) on a literal WORLDWIDE scavenger hunt to get the first looks at the songs. like u do not understand how absolutely insane it was. we were on twitter trying to sus out the tracklist through a, and i cannot express this enough, worldwide scavenger hunt. and you know what we found. VHS TAPES. it looks like the website was taken down, but there was a tracking system and we worked together on twitter to meet up to play fucking VHS tapes and get the first looks.
at the time it was fucking INSANE. i LOST my goddamn MIND over all of this !!!! i have genuinely never felt alive in the same way as i did when wild and blue neighborhood were first dropping, and i probably never will again.
in comparison, the bloom drop was disappointing af. man. they just don’t make em like 2016 album drops anymore.
i’m no longer as into troye as i was (i still adore blue neighborhood and wild, but his new music isn’t as much my thing), but this was so insane and i just remembered all of it, so i gotta talk abt it w someone. god. i was literally on twitter talking to ppl from australia about a vhs tape they found under a bridge or some shit. insane.

hi suz! gosh, i've gone and done it again, it's been a while since i last messaged i'm sorry! the last week or so has just gone by in a blur.

honestly dreaming about surprise songs is one of the most fun things about going to the eras tour lol my show isn't until the end of 2024 and i'm ready thinking up surprise songs that i'd want to hear. since she'll be resetting surprise songs and i'm assuming we'll have rep tv by the time your shows are, i am keeping my fingers crossed that she sings a rep track for you! the folklore and evermore sets are probably my favorite during the tour because they're so incredibly stunning, especially visually. the projections during august, the moss piano for champagne problems, the choreo of willow...everything about those sets are perfect and were probably my favorites of the eras tour. the rep set also really goes off so i know you'll have a great time then. the whole concert is amazing! that would be a super cute look for tour, the lover heart around the eye is *chef's kiss*

i'm definitely into the holiday spirit! it's been busy around here lately, but i've been watching 1-2, sometimes 3, christmas movies a night this week which has been really fun. i rewatched scott wolf and kristin chenoweth's hallmark movie the other day and it really is one of my favorites. it always makes me cry! i'll probably watch it again before the end of the year lol

Omg don't even worry! I totally get it. I was so insanely busy with work and everything, it's a miracle I even get to open tumblr anymore these days.
What have I been up to? Hm, I'm still coughing really bad like 3 weeks later, so I think I might have possibly had the C-word. Work has also been busy, since I work at a bookstore and holiday season... retail hell and so on. Working at a store doesn't really make me appreciate the holidays any more. People can be so horrible and I've barely been keeping it together.
I'm crossing my fingers for King of my Heart for Vienna concert because the friend that I'm going with (and that got me a ticket as a gift), that's her favorite song, so I really want that. I've given it a lot of thought obviously, but The Lakes would be amazing, since it's one of my faves, but also DBATC because it took me forever to not mess up the lyrics and I would proudly scream it, and I just love it so much. Ahh I am so happy you liked the folklore and evermore sets, that makes me even more excited. In a way, I'm super happy we got the movie, because that means I won't be worried about every detail, and I'll be able to be more present. I'm just so incredibly excited!! 137 DAYS!!!!
Of course I will! I'll try to get some for the holidays, maybe I'll have some time to read then. I need a break for real. So this is gonna sound funny, but there's this YA really old book series called Sadler's Wells/Ballet Slippers. And I kinda wanna do a Nace AU loosely based on the main love story in it, so I'm re-reading that hahaha. Also sometimes it just feels good to read something like that for the nostalgia, you know?
Omg, lucky you! I haven't watched any in the past week. It's been busy, and I'm just tired. I really do like that one so much! I did watch Holidate last week, I really think Emma Roberts should only do rom-coms, she is so good at them!
Tomorrow is the last hectic day at work, so I'll hopefully be a bit less busy from then on and finish setting up my tree (it's been lightless since I got sick, I know, a travesty).

I’m struggling to pick a theme for this Monday Motivation. I’m feeling drained and restless at the same time, which is perhaps exactly the reason for the struggle. Stick with me here.
Firstly, look at you! You made it through another week, you made it through the final US GP of the 2022 season. Praise yourself for that! For the week, not necessarily the GP. I’m hoping last week was kind, that you got to experience more highs than lows (but know that every low eventually will lead to a high) and that you got to make a positive memory!
Then, Midnights by Taylor Swift was released last Friday and I just have to know something: have you listened to it yet? Did something jump out at you? The whole reason I’m asking this is not just because I’m a Swiftie and I enjoyed the album but because a certain lyric was a beautiful addition to my last Monday Motivation: “Breathe in, breathe through, breathe deep, breathe out.” Just adding it again as a small reminder. Breathing comes so natural we sometimes forget the powerful effect it can have on our emotions.
Lastly, I’m subscribed to a newsletter that drops some motivation in my mailbox every once in a while. And this time… I think it set the tone for the coming week for me. Here is an excerpt:

Babs, of course I stayed up until 11pm on a work night for that album 😭😭😭. The complete 180 I did is honestly impressive. At first listen I was so.... 😐 about it. But I've had at least one song stuck in my head over the past few days, and I've grown to enjoy it soooo much. Definitely in the top half of her albums, for me (Speak Now, Folklore, and Evermore are hard to topple as the top 3 in my personal ranking of taste and personal connection but everything else is flexible).
Last week was kind to me and quite fun with pumpkin carvings and being with friends :). I am also so happy for you in hearing that you'll be getting your diploma! I hope the next month to be filled with relief and celebration 🍾

An OM! request, if open: the brothers reacting to their character + unit songs.
Personally, I think that the Brother's songs are little love letters that they have written to MC. Or maybe they are songs that they have (again) written for MC. So I feel like they decided those vibes and everything, I feel like they worked on all the songs, just they have different... feelings towards each one...
Anyway here are some headcannons about how I think each unit song was made by the characters...

They worked really hard on their own parts and finally agreed on Levi's version of the chorus (because this technically was a game)
Levi also helped cherograph it with some of Asmo's help.
Day comes, they perform it and the three of them run to Simeon, Beel, and Barb frantically asking (while out of breath because that was a lot of dancing) who MC watched more!
They didn't watch anyone... they ran to the bathroom just before it started and they walk up right as the 3 boys ask...

They wrote the lyrics together for each other because they were bored one day.
They showed it to MC and they loved it so much they made it into a song for them to listen to so they can think about them.
They did change some of the lyrics so it would show more of MC's feelings towards them, but it mostly remained the same.
They also sing it for MC whenever they ask the pair to.

They both asked Asmo and Levi to help them with a song. The little shits gave them the same song with different lyrics to fit their personalities.
So when they are at the party, about to perform for MC. The music starts and they both walk up all cool and then glare at each other. (To be fair, they were one after the other and they both didn't have to walk up, but they both had too much pride and anger to back down)
The song is them fighting for the mic and MC's attention.
Of course they do share some parts, but the choreography is filled with a lot of shoving and stealing the microphone while staring MC dead in the eyes.

This was all Asmo's idea as a present for MC. Originally it was a song only from him, but soon all the Brothers found out about the plan and wanted to join in.
Everybody wrote their own little verse mainly because they didn't want Asmo taking it over to make it a bit more personal.
Asmo and Levi collaborated on the Chorus.
They had to force Mammon say he had a crush on MC.
But in the end they all had a good amount of fun putting it together and performing it personally for MC.

It was a special anniversary of MC being in Dveildom and with the Brothers, and they wanted to show them how special it was.
They commissioned Simeon to write the song (he was hesitant, but eventually said yes).

Everytime they practiced they did so fiercely so they could perfect this song and give it their Beloved MC to show them how much they all cared for their human.

hi, that alien tea thing you wrote was absolutely beautiful. i loved it in its entirety. are there any authors/writers in particular that you like? any books/articles? I'm sorry I'm swamping you with questions but I'm trying to get back into writing. do you try to write on a daily basis to get better?

I'm so glad!!! no need to be sorry its flattering <3 honestly i only got back into reading in like the last year, same for writing. some writers that come to mind are michelle zauner, mary oliver, yann martel, chuck palahniuk, louisa may alcott (had to plumb my memory for childhood books + stuff i read now lmao). some books i like are life of pi, most roald dahl and enid blyton series (roald is especially fun to read when there's a lot on your mind), picture us in the light by kelly loy gilbert, crying in h mart etc etc. very few books i can say are faves yet.
with writing i think its best to chill. i didn't write for years and it bothered me, but now that things are a little less stressful i write a respectable amount. writing every day is an admirable notion but i can't keep to schedules. my deal is thinking a lot in pictures and titles and phrases, and i put everything i think could be remotely poetic in my notes app. sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't.
I'd recommend seeking out writers on any social media platform (although I've noticed i like tumblr poetry more than ig, but i suspect that's just because ig is really sanitized and shortened for algorithmic purposes. makes it hard to enjoy a poem) and kind of thinking about why you enjoy a certain person's poetry. try those traits out when writing yourself. think repetition is neat? go for it! think writing in a rhyme scheme is for you? try it out. try different formats, like diary entries or letters. any place people write stuff is game, like comment sections or wikipedia articles (collage poetry is also fun, speaking of wikipedia user headspace-hotel writes great poetry putting together fragments of wiki pages).
cliche advice but try and read more. observe everything. titles often come to me before the poem so phrases in books, song lyrics, something someone says, all very helpful. different for everyone but lately I've been trying my hand at every writing opportunity i get (i submit to several places on ig, i post stuff here, I'm in reading and writing servers, attend workshops etc) and kind of throwing everything together is nice. peer review is helpful.
above all, don't stress yourself out. writing is like coaxing an animal to go to the vet. it can be really easy or really hard! take as much time as you need, do things you like, relax. don't try if ur already stressed or busy, I'm generally dissatisfied with what i write then. good luck and godspeed🧡🧡

I've been putting off this answer until I finished my rewatch so I could see Daydream Believer in context before passing judgement. But now I have finished, and I have agonized over this ranking (I can't even imagine ranking each of their solos, that's a whole other undertaking) and here are my resulting thoughts:
16. Perfect - it's fine. I mean none of their duets are bad but this is the least compelling.
15. Story of My Life - it's also...fine. I don't understand in context why this was the song that was chosen for this scene, like even among 1D songs it's not that interesting (no shade to 1D, I enjoy many of their songs), if they wanted to impress a potential industry connection why not choose something more challenging or dynamic?
14. Love Is a Battlefield - the song itself is very fun, but nothing exceptionally impressive about the performance.
13. Daydream Believer - a good performance, nothing particularly special, but it does have some excellent Kurt-low-voice moments which I'm such a slut for
12. Somebody Loves You - really cute song, not particularly excellent but a lot of fun
11. You Make Me Feel So Young - maybe it's just the overwhelming amount of pop songs versus more classic, musical songs like this, but it makes this song stick out because it showcases their voices - individually and together - so well!
10. White Christmas - My least fave of the Christmas duets, but still has a fun vintage feel
9. American Boy - I don't know why I love this song so much but I do. Is it weird to hear Blaine try to use the same slang derived from Jamaican influence on a multicultural London sociolect as Estelle does? Yes. But it's still a fucking bop.
8. Animal - I love this song in general and also it holds a very special place in my heart as a pre-Klaine duet that made the fandom lose their minds before we discovered the context. Also just sounds good.
7. Candles - objectively a good song, a nice ballad for the boys, even if the context was a little antithetical to the lyrics
6. Let It Snow - a top-tier Christmas song. Like if I were ranking Glee Christmas songs this would probably be #2. It's jazzy, it's fun, they perform it in formalwear in their imaginary """bachelor""" chalet in the Swiss Alps. Top-notch, but it's still a Christmas song so the playability is pretty limited.
5. Just Can't Get Enough - oh my GOD this song is so catchy and adorable and I just love it
4. Got To Get You Into My Life - I'm a little biased because I have been a Beatles fan from birth, and I also feel like this was one of the few Beatles songs in the two tribute episodes that Glee actually did a really good job of covering...and also just such a fun performance
3. Baby It's Cold Outside - the OG. Words cannot describe the joy that this duet brought when I was but a 15-year-old child watching these two dumb boys make heart-eyes at each other on my television (back when we actually had cable TV, in the Olden Days). Still sounds so good, a god-tier Christmas song that you KNOW is on the playlist I break out every year in December. God your lips look delicious indeed
2. It's Too Late - I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT THIS GEM until my recent rewatch of season 6. Oh my GOD it's so good. I mean, the original song is already incredible. And then KLAINE takes a crack at it?! The way they perform it as a duet, the way that their particular lines are split up to show their relative perspectives? The MATURITY of this duet, and the ANGST, and the LONGING. I've listened to it on repeat before and I will again. This song burrows into my SOUL it's INCREDIBLE
1. Come What May- I mean. I mean. It's the ultimate fucking love song. It's yearning and devotion incarnate. It's from a fucking dream sequence. The vocals - out of this world. The emotion - unparalleled. The fandom reaction to seeing this in a time period when Klaine was broken up, but this song proved that they were soulmates/endgame/would love each other until their dying day???? - incomparable. A masterpiece of a song. Inject this shit directly into my veins.

I’ve had no signal for 2 days and we’re driving back so I’m gonna break stuff down for my own process of uhh. Processing
- for first of all, the WEATHER 💜🧡💙💜💙 I think I had like ptsd from last year because it was a bit rainy and was so god damn cold at night. I would get back into the tent and couldn’t even undress to my pyjamas bc it was that cold. BUT THIS time the weather was GORGEST. GROJEST. Sunny aaall weekend and not as cold at night (I did overpack on my pjs they took up half my back pack) but sun makes life so much easier. Last time we hired a trolley to take our stuff in, but the rain made the hill muddy, so it took me 30 mins to take it up. I was destroyed
- im getting super good at doing my makeup and my outfits were sick and that skirt was a GOOD purchase. Unfortunately I can’t wear it any where but a festival …
-i really don’t know why I kept ending up with free food. It happened so much it became ridiculous
- fwf was great. I’ve wanted to see them for a year and their musical roots in this south lndn pub are the same as shmmes so i wanted to see the family resemblance :) a photographer got a really nice shot of me at the barrier on insta 😭
-im getting over my fear of festival loos
-im still crying from st v. Her set was something that I dreamed of since I was 14!!! I was at the front and she was just so amazing. At Brixton i was looking after my friend who had never ever been to a gig before so we couldn’t get close and I was super concerned for her stayng comfortable so..I just couldn’t get into as much as I hoped. I’m so GLAD I saw her again, and her set was much more exciting since she wasn’t just playing her album in order. Omg. She did uhh severed crossed fingers and HYSTERICAL STRENGTH! And Huey Newton ofc! I went mental bc she like, starts her songs in a different key or beat so it’s not immediately recognisable, but my like? Neurons start firing and I’m singing along with her the exact right lyrics before I even know what song she’s doing!! I loved t

- vmpire wknd is OVERRATED but i woz on my friends shoulders for D1ane Young so that makes it OK! (my sister insisted we get to the front and I understand since it’s her teenage band) (Ezra is quite fonny I’ll say that)
- I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVE IDLEES SM!!! not to steal ******* ******s wig but they are SOO NICE! I went to their signing and they just RADIATE loveliness. They are very very kind to their fans. THEIR SET WAS SICK you KNOW I crowd surfed aga1n for their last song AND!!!! guess what specal boys were seen backstage
-note on crowdsurfing, I was worried people would be nasty and touch me up but it wasn’t the case at all! I go see a lot of punk bands that are very vocal about respecting others in the crowd. People were soo nice to me! They lowered me down and hugged me and were super welcoming (i….am very visually a baby punk in person so maybe thats why) also it’s not uncomfortable? It’s actually super super fun and im gonna try and do it whenever i can

i agree, the reveal of nancy being lucy's baby and all of 1x16 in general is one of my favorite things from the show, it was so perfectly done. and i do love the death curse storyline. 4x01 was immaculate, it really was. i think my favorite will forever be season 2, specifically 2x18, that one just hits every time. but i truly think s2 is one of the best seasons of television like ever. she's that girl.

I'm doing well, thank you! It's kind of a meh week, but it's almost over! Hope you're doing well too! 💛
I do love season 2, but there are certain things in s2 that sometimes make me mad/sad, so it's a roller coaster. Like Drew Crew's treatment of Nancy at the beginning of the season, and overall really bothered me a little. But they had some strong episodes that I absolutely adore, and I thought the wraith storyline was so well executed. I wish we'd have seen more of the aftermath though? (look at me ramble away again)
Omg, whatever gave you that impression 😂 it's not like I talk about her constantly 🙈 ooof, asking the hard questions I see! So my fave album is always gonna be Reputation. It came out at a very low point of my life and I really related to it so much. Rep is always gonna be that bitch 😎 As far as the songs go, my fave is The Lakes, idk it just makes me feel soft and happy. I also adore ATW 10 minute version.
I'll always associate The Great War with Nace. It's their anthem. And ours. 🥺 I'm always a firm believer that every TS song can be adapted for any ship, but there are some I 100% connect with them, You are in love has some lyrics that always make me think of nace, and so does Long Story Short (long story short it was the wrong guy / And he's passing by / Rare as the glimmer of a comet in the sky / And he feels like home). Exile and I almosr do when I'm feeling especially angsty about S4. Timeless got me through the darkest s4 moments so I'll always associate it with them. And for Nancy I always think of her when I hear You're on your own kid. And State of Grace for Ryan and Lucy 😭.
