the shibuya arc is almost over, i still cant believe it started off with 5 episodes of teen gojo and suguru having the best and then the worst time of their lives all to the back drop of a slice of life setting. I think i will always chose to live in those first 5 episodes they dedicated an entire marketing campaign to.

I had a thought; hear me out.
There's already a vault edition pack smth for the game — Ghost, Makarov, some other guy, and ofc, Price — as operators. Official and ready for pre-order.
The games (so far) usually do not introduce dead characters as operators (unless later revealed to be alive like Alex and Graves) cause the multiplayer canonically occurs after the campaign, right?
Besides (my own thinking), if Price was actually gonna die in the game, it'd be such a huge turning point in the franchise. Would they really reveal in the trailer just like that?? Or is it just misleading?
Point is there may be hope for Price yet 🤞

I absolutely love Price and I definitely hope he stays alive. What I wanna see though is Price (or any character in that matter) somehow getting hurt (oop 👀) and be unavailable for sometime in the campaign, idk. JUST MAKE ME WORRIED. MAKE ME SAD.
Like imagine the boys having to go on without Price for the time being. Imagine how Gaz will feel. Imagine how Farah reacts, how the others will handle it. LIKE AAAAHHH THE DRAMA. GIVE ME ALL THE DRAMA.
And yeah from the multiplayer & corporate point of view, killing Price is gonna be a BAD move.

curious to know why you dislike juline?
tbh i had no opinion at all of her and then about a year ago there was a poll on which member of the collective was the best. and the tiergan lovers website let tiergan down. in favor of her. /hj
in seriousness, dislike was a bit strong. im still mostly neutral on her. she does sort of feel like just another sparkly girlboss in the series which. admittedly is a trope in kotlc thats started to piss me off a bit bc it seems like every adult woman falls into it.
juline is like. the final evolution of that sparkly girlbossery. she has no real relationship damage for more than 2 minutes after revealing shes been lying to her family for years and was part of the organization that grady thought killed his daughter.
in general! it doesnt seem like she ever faces any consequences for lying to her family or pushing them to the side a bit in favor of the black swan.
idk maybe there were problems (specifically with dex) and we never saw them bc theyre not sophies problem but. whatever.
also what is her "official job." was she passing off as a stay at home mom? does she work in the nobility? idk
#juline is like the supreme version of the never do wrong girlboss to me#like yeah she faced consequences with her family!! for a total of 3 minutes!!#i dont expect this to be too fleshed out bc the plot is busy enough without including every trial and tribulation in julines life#but shannon its not too hard to make female characters that arent all the exact same#i can count on 1 hand how many women dont fall into shannons strong badass sparkly mother trope#i get the need to make women strong but that means nothing when every woman has the exact same personality#the only exceptions i can think of off the top of my head (galvin and alina) are put down by both the narrative and most of the fandom#cadence stands out to me also bc.#in general in the later books shes treated well despite her conflict with sophie.#and while shes still a strong character. she doesnt have the sparkly motherly bullshit everyone else has.#<- possibly a side effect of her time with the ogres#sorry this got rambly!! to summarize my problem isnt with juline exactly but with women as a whole in the series#kotlc

It’s the prsk only anon. Oh yeah I did see there was an anime! I just have to make time for that lol. But I was thinking you could make it easier for other people like me who aren’t familiar with both yet. Can you explain or summarize what the similarities and differences are between prsk and Bandori stories?

biggest difference you had in early bandori and early prsk is that the event stories in bandori feel way more 'one shot' like than prsk. the character development still happen and the past events are still referenced ofc but in comparison the events Suffice in themselves. best Counter example with prsk is the first leoneed arc from unit story to resonating with you. all the events specifically build up to this etc. currently i feel like the tendency is actually being reversed on both sides which is nice to see !!
bandori also got a WIDE cast of characters. 45 whole girlies to enjoy. so you are Bound to find one that you enjoy following in their story and character development. also each group got their Own specific visuals and Type as one does in that genre. theres a Lot of cross bands friendships and connections that are so so fun to follow thru and also nice to see how it impacts the story
bandori actually now got 10 girlies in college ! we had a huge pre graduation arc that touched onto all the subjects that what graduation Mean to those characters. some were excited. some were so so scared (imai lisa <3). and now the stories do take into account that change. as well as the fact that a LOT of other girls are now in their last year of highschool. which is not something that prsk has touched upon yet so it feels nice to see !!
i think that prsk often made a name for itself for having 'heavier' themes and writing but as someone who has read a fair share of both that both share the same tone and type of writing while being very distinct from each other. maybe that bandori is a bit more Subtexty in its heavier themes earlier on but they exist and are actually very much portrayed in the mygo anime and in more events going forward.
now that we got the big broad strokes of the Writing and story. the Actual goal of those two franchises. music. which is both so so great
while all of bandori music is made with 'it must sounds like a band is actually playing it' in mind (compared to prsk units who are Less limited by that in some way) All the bands have a Very distinctive sounds and genre of band music. no matter which band you love the most you will Always want to check what the others are doing and it wont feel repetitive in the slightest
prsk is SO good to make you discover producers, their style of music and their discography. which is so great to me who never got to deep dive into vocaloid music until i got into prsk. bandoris music will often have the same ppl working on it (unless mygo and avemuji who got Separated music production which is Great) so it doesnt have that kind of reach
i will say it. it is FUN to compare when both franchise got covers in common when ppl Arent being disingenuous about the quality of each (prsk violently shaking you to fix your mixing on some covers PLEASE) and to see why and how they both make it work !!!
LIVE PERFORMANCES. both got their own brand performances ofc. prsk more in line with what vocaloid concerts are like. adore seeing them. but ooh bandori. the whole goal of the franchise was to put on concerts and by god they succeeded. 6 out of the 9 bands got live concerts fully performed by the seiyuu. and it is SO so great to see them progress when you know that a GOOD bunch of them picked up their instruments just for that role. cant recommend to watch bandori concerts enough. if anything.
i will stop there for now but those are my personal important points !!!

The worst part about writing long aus is that you can’t infodump about it (without having to explain everything first so they get the context) unless you’re willing to make someone read 150k words
#yes this is about mirrorverse (120k plus stuff not on ao3)#also about hsau (70k but 40k of that is double counted w mirrorverse) and superhero au (21k) to a lesser extent#I try not to beg for readers and usually don’t get any response when I self promote the long ones#so I keep trying to summarize more and more succinctly#keep having summaries of all the previous things#and write so that you can pick up most of the plot jumping into the present moment with just the bare minimum premise#which makes me feel better about it but also. still.#kvetch#(patience/mirrorverse 3 is on the top page of murderbot fics by wordcount and has single digit numbers of kudos and comments)#(compared to the next lowest having double digits for both and all the others having at least one triple digit metric)#(I try really hard to not care but when I want to infodump it’s really hard to find someone who doesn’t need me to explain the context firs#and that makes me sad cause I want to just launch into the problem I’m having w/o explaining it all and curbing my enthusiasm)#please do not tell me “you can infodump without explaining” I don’t want to hear it

Been watching some dbs related videos and I'm sosoo glad I gave up on that anime because oh my god the story gets worse with every arc. Wtf are they even doing anymore
#watched a vid summarizing the granolah arc and literally genuinely what was that#my favorite part was when frieza showed up outta nowhere with a new form he'd cultivated#in a alternate dimension that distorts time in a similar way that the room of space and time does#proceeded to one hit kill the big bad of the week. knock out goku and vegeta for shits and giggles and then dip#hilarious#but it was meant to be totally serious and to show that frieza's totallyyyy a threat again guys for real lets goo round 3#and that was literally the most interesting part of the arc#Im so mad about the fucking bardock retcon#but not about the hypothetical wish he made. I remember reading somewhere that the English translation of the manga was incorrect#and ik a lot of people argue that the wish he made just retconned the whole message of dragon ball#but thats based on the English version of the manga#also speaking of bardock and retcons related to him Im still livid over the fact that they changed goku's origin story#to be an almost exact ripoff of superman's#and they retconned the start of the saiyan arc with that too#radirz said goku was sent to earth to destroy it as a baby. but now goku was sent to earth on purpose to save his life?#bullshit. I didn't post about it because I didn't want to curse myself, but I've been calling this weekend "writing retreat" (aka I had the apartment to myself for most of it and spent it all reading and writing) AND NOW THE FIC IS DONE
#a glorious time really#I mean ch 3 and 4 still need polish drafts and I have to figure how on earth to summarize this thing in a way that does it justice#but it's complete it's all on the page I can finally stop agonizing over hitting this part of it!!!!#phew!#so um yes ch 1 possibly coming later this week as long as I don't decide I hate and need to overhaul the second half after I sleep on it

yeah we have the game featuring one of the most pivotal missions stuck on the msx2 with the closest way to play it is various ports throughout the years. no we havent ever thought of remaking it or its mission to be more in line with the other games. yeah we are remaking the third game again but this time in unreal engine so you can see all the dirt particles why do you ask

I’ve been wanting to restrain going off about Kikaider because it’s not really that bad of a show-it has nothing horribly offensive or gross in it and it does have good qualities even if for that very reason it makes me more disappointed it turned out the way it did for me-and I know I have a few followers who seemingly like it but MAN after finishing all of the anime content and going through the cycle of “this is okay” “this sucks” “this exists” I can’t help to wonder why the anime was produced the way it was.
I don’t understand why they had a budget for 3 separate shows that came out essentially a year apart from each other that are still connected and with each one gets a improvement in animation instead of just pouring the budget into one full length show that probably would’ve looked decent. Like how was there only funds for Kikaider to get a 13 ep tv show but enough they could do two ovas? Was there seriously not enough money or investment to just make it a 20+ ep show when it desperately needed to be longer to fit and rectify all the content in the manga? Or was the first show and 01 just split up because of a new cast despite sharing the same storyline in the manga? And also why produce the crossover with Inazuman-or however tf it’s spelled-despite not making a anime for that?
The production decisions with this show confuses the shit out of me because length is generally the reason why i didn’t see as good even if the first show is at least decent and enjoyable, because even if they were doing this out of passion and respect for the author I feel there could’ve been SOME way around this.
