I've been a fan of Marvellous Mrs Maisel since season 1 but like, the Susie gay stuff is feeling like a real fucking tease. Even with the most recent episode where it finally seems confirmed I feel baited. I'm guessing this is going somewhere with it being the cliff hanger but I just, I don't feel it. And honestly all the cast interviews feel so weird too and always have. Like "oh her sexuality isn't important and we don't have to show it" ok so why are you fucking teasing us with it so much. Why are you getting so close to showing but then not? Like I'd honestly respect it more if Susie was just butch and they never touched it instead of edging us like this. Like haha she went to a gay bar but she still looked super uncomfortable. Ooo she has an ex girlfriend but they never actually say they were dating and they could just be like ex clients. I just feel fucking teased. Commit you god damn cowards. If Susie's sexuality doesn't matter when every single second of midge's personal life is the be all and end all of the show, then why are you just cowardly hinting? Have some god damn balls.

It really doesn't help that I just am losing my patience with the plot. A lot of people were saying how last season it started just feeling like rich white woman temper tanturm hour but this last episode really solidified it. Midge's unprofessionalism is feeling less enderingnand edgy and more like she's just sulking because has to actually work to get to the top. Oooooo I'm a professional writer on one of the most famous comedy shows in the country, but I'm not allowed to guest star because of very reasonable professionalism rules. I'm sure my position as a writer on one of most watched shows in the country definitely won't open other doors to get on other shows. So I'm literally going to completely ruin a completely unrelated gig. Remember when her unprofessionalism was that her jokes were too edgy for the time? That her quick wit and desire to tell the world the way she sees it was what was getting her in trouble. The was what she bonded with Lenny over which was by far one of the most interesting relationships in the show. But tbh they ruined that by having them sleep together. Lenny worked well as this almost mythical concept of what she could become, both good and bad. The relationship was complex and interesting and worked way way way more as friends/peers. But no midge now suddenly has to be romantic with every guy in the show, including her boss now? Which they just don't comment on the blatant workplace harassment there? It's just tee hee Midge is pretty so her boss wants to sleep with her.

Also like can I just say the stuff with Abe was so fucking gross this episode. For a guy who's been pretty heavily autistic coded throughout the show the way they framed him trying to make up with Rose after their fight, which yes he was an asshole in and needed to apologize for, it felt like they made what seemed to me like an honest loving gesture of apology communicated non verbally, which yes he's been heavily autistic coded this whole fucking show so that's likely the best way he has to communicate, as child like and pathetic was just disgusting. Like I can see myself in his head so much. He messed up and he knows he did but he doesn't know how to apologize for it so he gets up in the middle of the night and picks her roses to scatter on her bed and then comes to be non sexually intimate with her, deliberately trying not to get too close into her personal space so she doesn't feel overpowered or attacked. A pose that could literally be interpreted as him begging her forgiveness. And that describing it's sounds so sweet but in the show he's blocked like he's being a pathetic child. It's so so gross.

And that's not even talking about the conversation that triggered it which spends half the time treating every woman in the scene like they're shallow and unable to understand media, before seemingly taking a minute to mock anyone who wants to read more into stories, highlighting queer analysis especially, as people who refuse to just let stories be and being too forceful for asking people to actually think about what they're watching. Real the curtains are blue shit.

I honestly love Abe so much he reminds me of my dad in a lot of ways so I am pretty biased but even still I just feel so gross after bits of this episode. Especially when they do stuff like "haha men don't want to know about lady problems" while actively undermining sexual harassment and making all the female characters besides queen of all midge and Susie, who despises all thing femmine, (in a way that used to feel like butch rep but with the other stuff seems now like a way to say she's competent because she's not acting like a silly girl) be portrayed as dumb.

so, bad news, i doooo unfortunately have to go work later, BUT, i'm awake now with some breakfast and i'm going to work on the brothersbestfriend fic and answer a few requests!

feeling very excited about the future of this blog. even though i'm only writing ab one character, i can't believe the little community we've created here <3 as i said in my pinned post, i do plan on expanding and becoming multifandom, it's just that the main fandoms i was in as a teen have become damn near obsolete and while i read marauders, anime, and strangers things stuff, i don't feel confident enough to write for them bc i dont know much about the lore/characters <3 hoping to find other avenues to expand into though! i've just been loving to write about mike, he makes me feel so gidddddyyyyyy. i am giggling and kicking my feet thinking about him 🫥

also also, i wanted to introduce myself to you guys a bit more in depth since we're getting new people in. i'm faire, i'm 22, and i'm really just an all-around creative. i've always loved art and creative expression in any form! i went to a performing arts high school for theatre and pursued a creative writing degree in college (dropped out in my literal last semester bc i am solely responsible for myself and my mental health got too bad lmao.) i counted my masterlist the other day and i think i've written like 23-25 things on here which is crazy to me, but makes sense because i used to have to write five pages stories every other day lmao

some of my other likes include video games like the sims and overwatch, reading, music (i sing and write, and i love alllll genres), graphic design, and being outside! i also love food and travel (japan is one of my all-time desired trips!)

i dislike rude people, lack of communication and spatial awareness lmao, yellow mustard, beans, and capitalism. just trying to make it in this world one day at a time <3

i'm curious as to where everyone else is from though! i'm from the east coast of america, born and raised! ready to escape tbh lol just interested to see where you're all reading from

pjo ep2. big day for people annoying ab annabeth chase. her short answers and only telling people exactly what they're asking and nothing else. makes me cry i love her. i love her to death i would love her in every universe. clarisse is a gorgeous bitch. just a beautiful almost ethereal asshole. dior goodjohn the girl that u are. liked the grover pov a lot but would've liked even 2 minutes more on the council of cloven elders bc we got one single wide shot with zero details like how tf are we supposed to know who these bitches are. are we supposed to infer who that dryad was. there is always either too little detail or too much detail being told instead of shown. actually i think that's the source of most this show's problems is the telling instead of showing, it slows everything down and makes us super bored just having to listen to somebody explain greek mythology every 5 fucking minutes. guy playing luke is putting absolutely zero feeling into anything he's doing at all. go girl give us nothing. annabeth is the ONLY mf i can excuse doing that bc it's her entire character and she has arguably the most character growth out of anyone throughout the first book. also going back to clarisse while her scream at getting ares' spear was absolutely fantastic i would like someone to explain that it literally was a gift to her from ares which is why she reacted like that bc otherwise it might come off as just overdramatic plus i like the depth. also right after she does all that she grabs percy's armor by the straps really strong and then only weakly shoves him away. and tbh i'd like for her to be a lot louder and a lot more outwardly dickish instead of mean girl ish bc all her purposeful bumping and giggling w her friends only comes off as very aphrodite cabin (esp drew) otherwise. yeah i think a lot more yelling and giving "ares daughter bully" instead of "mean girl" would do a lot for her. i need to check the cast list again to see who luke's friend who's always hanging around him is bc i've seen ppl say he's both beckendorf and chris and i need to know. he's doing great though i need more of him. going back to percy though...praying to his mom. his fucking mom. he prayed to his mortal mom instead of his god dad like are you fucking srs im sobbing. "i am sally jackson's son" i am going to lose my shit. really a pretty good episode i liked seeing around this version of camp. i also like jason mantzoukas' mr d a lot i think the whole "son :D" thing was funny. is it just me or did he and chiron seem super married bc i haven't seen anyone mention that either. and i really like that stained glass office he just chills out in. im really enjoying seeing j.mant play a partylicious and unserious character like dionysus so. well. serious. i've never seen him act like that and im really liking it it's verrryyy interesting to watch. good episode im excited for the questing next time

last time I remember him saying something real about jimin on live was early 2021 when he was asked about tmi (not even ab jm) and said he stole his food while hanging out lol, 2021 was also the last year we saw them being very close friends

tbh I wouldn't mind him namedropping jimin on every live if at least his in person behavior matched that "interest" shippers say he has for him. Like... in tae's case he talks about jk on every live sometimes even makes up scenarios about him and is very annoying but at least he maintains the same attitude when they are in the same room, he doesn't ignore him or show any bad attitude towards him. while jk may not namedrop any of the other members but is always giggles and heart eyes when being with them but he can't go one group live without showing how annoyed he is by jm and feeding the "harassed" agenda.

about the sasaeng topic... I feel terribly but I just can't feel bad for him anymore. I know the stalker is the one that should be blamed and I do but man you literally said in one of your lives that whoever recognized you on the street was welcomed to approach you then someone takes your words for real and you start crying ab privacy and stuff? what were you expecting to happen? feeding yns and keeping your life private are two things that cannot coexist and you are very aware of that, this is the same man from a few years ago that showed up on social media every 3 months and we all wanted to fight for cause it was very unfair that a boy who made such a big effort to have a normal life would be bother by strangers on the phone. now he lives a reality show and pretends things not to get worse

I don’t think jk is truly “annoyed” by jm. I became an army early 2018 and I feel like those two were extremely close that year. jk was probably more touchy than jm was. Ultimately I think jk picks and chooses when he wants to reciprocates the affection cause just this past live the 4 of them did, he was very touchy on jm. And I think that (paired with shippers warped mentalities) makes it come off like it’s one sided since jm’s a very affectionate person.

No opinion here, I just wanted to tell you I just love your tags😅but I guess I’d like to get your opinion on Hotch and his relationship with JJ throughout the show, like how do you feel about it or what are some of your likes and dislikes about how it was written

i am a known #jjhater but i actually really love her relationship with hotch?? i dont think jj herself is well written, but i like the dynamic between the two.

i like that jj has a very skewed perception of hotch? she definitely takes him at face value in the first 4 seasons. she thinks he’s emotionless and abrasive.. but she respects that? its how she was raised to be. so she admires him for being unaffected by the job, for asserting himself and getting what he wants, not realizing that he’s not really like that at all.

i think foyet was a bit of an awakening for jj. bc now she Knows he must be suffering, even when he’s not showing it. so she learns that “gee maybe he still has emotions even tho he doesnt talk ab them.” but she’s still not at the point where she’s comfortable talking to him. i think she really realizes that how much he cares in season six—both with the way he fought hard to try to keep her in the bau, and with the lengths he was willing to go to save emily. hotch himself has gotten a little less guarded over the seasons, particularly season 7 on, so that also helps. she sees him as a bit more human

but beyond her misjudgment, i find their actual relationship super interesting. i cant remember where but there was one interview back from season one talking ab the chars and someone said jj was like hotch’s intern. which they said mostly as a joke, but its stuck with me bc of how true it actually is? not an actual fucking intern akdhak but like… his mentee almost? reid had gideon and jj had hotch. not as explicitly teacher/student as gideon/reid, but the toned down version (which works better for both of their characters anyway). reid and gideon are more ab the intelligence aspect, while jj and hotch are more on the bureaucratic side. reid/gideon can focus on the profile, while jj/hotch deal with everything behind the scenes: the paperwork, the media, the police, the reports, etc. hotch also obviously works on the profile—especially since thats what we see him do the most—but thats only ab half his job. the rest of it was the stuff gideon hated about being unit chief (which makes me think hotch probably did the paperwork for team even before he became unit chief so gideon wouldnt have to). i mean he’s apparently been handling most of the reports for the rest of the team for fucks sake.

and jj has to do the same thing. i bully her for never doing shit on the show lmao but to be fair thats bc most of her job is when theyre at quantico between cases. and in the brief moments we do see them doing the paperwork, they usually interact. he’s either doing it with her or just checkin in on her since they’re the only ones on the team that are left in the office. they spend the most time together when they’re at the office while the others are working on cases or doing interviews or consultations or whatever else they have to do. she respects and admires him: she’s gonna look up to him. he wants to help her. its an unspoken mentorship that both are too emotionally constipated to acknowledge.

she doesnt always get the point of the lesson (like the birthright episode) but she’s been studying under him for years. and she picks up stuff quick. she’s grown more capable (allegedly) and more confident throughout the seasons. he’s seen her through one job to the next: tbh it would make more sense for her to be unit chief after hotch leaves. she would be taking up the mantle, and this would be the last thing he leaves her with. it would feel full circle. (pretending like she’d actually be good at the job—but it still makes more sense than bringing an extremely overqualified emily back)

anyway i love their relationship. neither of them are the best at communication, so they both interpret each other’s actions/words in a way that makes them hate themselves the most: they’re only hearing what they want to hear. they’re probably the most self loathing on the team, so p much everything they say feels like an emotional blow (i want to be clear: not at each other, eg hotch taking jj’s “youre a bully” comment to heart even tho she was essentially in the middle of a breakdown when she said it). they’re alike in so many ways but the way they view the world couldnt be more different. they’re mirrors, but they’re opposites. they show their love in completely different ways

idk i just think theyre neat

#want to make it absolutely clear that its not sarcasm when i say jj fundamentally misunderstands hotch #i think its fantastic and genuinely interesting—and a good decision considering both characters #like. morgan doesnt fully get hotch either and thats what makes their dynamic so interesting #asks #char crit #<- ig #not tagging as anti jj bc i was nice to her this ask :)

Going on dates with him is mainly you guys conversing together, although both of you are comfortable to sit in peaceful silence together, talking with each other is the highlight of all the dates.

Simple dates that you and him enjoy with a wide selection of foods while talking about anything. Getting dinner with him enjoying some traditional Liyue food while he tells you stories about his days about being Morax or any topic that comes to mind. Watching him wave his chopsticks still holding food around calmly as he recounts an interesting event that he had seen today.

You guys get desserts right afterwords if one of you guys crave it. You like to point out that his dessert was going to go bad if he didn’t eat it because he keeps on rambling. You love it though. I just think that another ideal date would just be you being out and about while Zhongli watches with literal stars in his eyes.

Sometimes you guys would do something together like ancient Liyue arts that he is very glad to teach you. He’s so down to simply do anything with you, wether it be practicing some sort of skill with you or simply shopping. In all honesty he just loves being by you and teaching you. Even if you can’t focus on what he’s showing you, he just chuckles at your dazedness and asks if you would like to do something else. He won’t get mad at all of you ask him to show you the steps again, seeing the twitch of your lips when watching him is enough to shine in his memory.

He loves the same things you do! You guys coordinate so well together. He’s more than happy to supervise your hobbies and offer advice while he does the same alongside you. Zhongli appreciates and loves your passion and creativity. He thinks it’s just gorgeous how you could create something so unique and have such a determined dead set mind. He’s always been one to appreciate your passions. He will sing so many praises, going on and on how extraordinary your craft is. Even if it’s simple he’ll always call you skilled and amazing at whatever you had made this time.

Zhongli absolutely adores when you rely on him, use his shoulder as a pillow, relax in his hold when he carries you, even when you ask him to grab something for you. He loves to be your support pillar because he knows just as well you’ll be right there for him too.

Listening to Zhongli’s words will never get old to you. His soothing, calm, riveting voice that echos through the the room, bouncing off the walls as you lay on his chest. Listening to his rhythmic heartbeat and feeling the slow rise of his chest as you speak. This goes the same for him, as long as you can speak he’ll never not want to hear your voice. He says it sounds soothing to him. The waves of your voice never ceases to make him relax knowing that you are right beside him, living amongst Liyue with him.

Your first couple of dates were very awkward. As you didn’t know how to speak to Zhongli nor did you want to as he, in your eyes was still a stranger to some extent, yet you still didn’t want to turn down his date offer. Well how could you say no? Zhongli is handsome and knowledgeable, sure he can be forgetful but you liked him well enough despite his mysterious knowledge. Zhongli on the other hand rambled a lot, not knowing how to properly converse with you; he simply continued to talk about the little things he saw throughout the day.

It started out as little quips of input as response to him. Even so, Zhongli never budged, instead patiently waiting for you to open up to him more. And it worked. Just talking to him know is enough to set you on a ramble rivaling his.

As much as he is an amazing lover, things can get out of hand all because he loves your thighs more than anything.

They’re always bruised and littered with markings after some more steamy nights. He thinks his bite marks are pretty, they glow slightly orange yellow and look delightful on your thighs. You think it’s some master plan of his to get you to stay with him all throughout the day because god it is so hard to get up with bruised thighs.

You guys are both so fucking stubborn. You aren’t afraid to speak your mind but will never actually discuss with him because you don’t want to be proven wrong. Zhongli wants to cherish his time with you, that’s why he sweeps all of the problems under a rug. It is heavily implied though that he thinks that he is right.

When arguments happen you tend to close yourself off yet yearn for him. While Zhongli pretends it never happens, trying to normally go through the day with a very closed off you.

This goes on and on until you forget the problem because you just miss him too much. You really shouldn’t by the way, eventually he same topic will come up and the cycle will repeat. Just talk with him, don’t be afraid to let your guard down.

It hurts knowing that you’ll be gone one day, but the only thing he could do is simply enjoy every waking moment with you. He makes a personal contract with himself as to never forget you. Every part of you shall be remembered; from your smile to your laugh, even to your tears. He will never let himself remove your memory.

He will be always be by your side. Even if you shut down he’s right there, quietly questioning if you want anything.

Your aesthetics match so well together. He loves the scholar side of you, and he admires you for keeping your place organized.

You guys are so patient with each other actually. It’s kind of difficult to get into fights because both of you are very understanding for the most part

Zhongli will ensure maximum sleep. Always has the right amount of remedies for your perfect sleep. Sure he can get a bit concerned if he shakes you and you still don’t rouse, but it’s much better than you getting bad sleep. The moment you feel restless he’s already getting up to make soothing tea as well as offering a relaxing song fr him to hum as your lay against his chest. He has the best humming voice to sleep to. You will actually have the best sleep of your life.

He enjoys your laugh so much. Actually there’s a mutual feeling of enjoying each other’s voices. You like his deep, soothing, silky voice while he enjoys the melodies of how your voice shines through in his memories.

If he notices other people staring at your body he will absolutely give you his coat. He can’t help it, hall he wants is to keep you to himself and not let you be eye candy for anyone else.

“Dear.” Looking up from your drawing to see your partner standing next to you with a contemplative stare at your body.

He quickly averts his gaze away from your body avoiding eye contact with you, “I’ve noticed that you’ve been really.. sore lately,” looking back at your curious gaze he runs a hand down your back softly, “I was hoping to make you feel better if I massage you.”

Your eyes lit up, “Really? You’d do that for me?”

“Of course my flower, you er- have complained that it was of my own doing to make you this prone.”

As much as you love him, you just can’t let go of the fact that due to him you had to take almost two weeks off of any athleticism. A small smile settled on your face. “Weelll if you’re as good as massages as you are at rambling on and on I’ll be back to my regular activities in no time.” Your voice cheerful with a light tease.

Zhongli looks very slightly guilty, diverting his eyes as he coughs into his hand, face pink with embarrassment. “I- I am sorry for my actions, but please understand you are just.. very tempting my dear lily.” His eyes momentarily crossed to your exposed thighs full of light purple bruises.

He did not look the least amount of embarrassed or ashamed. He couldn’t help but the small twitch of his corner lip as he remembered just how pretty you were under him, looking so ethereal in his mind.

He knows you’d look even more heavenly with oil running down your skin, back exposed to him as he rubs all the knots away from your skin. He quickly averts his thoughts as fast they come. He couldn’t afford to get ahead of himself. Clearing his throat, his smooth rumbling voice reverberating in your body, “So? About that massage my love?”

How do you feel good enough? This person I’m interested in a girl, first time kinda exploring bi side, and I like her a lot, although can’t lie, she’s tall (I’m 5’4, she’s like 5’7), but she’s quite, like quite overweight, but I don’t mind. He wouldn’t pick any of them over us tbh.

And from my end: Bookstore Girl - who is my Citadel - is kinda plain. I wouldn’t like do an oil painting of the woman. But she is SO hot to me. And my ex slept with a VERY famous man after swearing off men and being mad at me for talking to them idk.

hiii! i’m the same anon who’d sent in the ask talking ab dress yesterday (and the one who asked you for the lyrics analysis, which i’m so glad i did!! sophie mega brain frfr I LOOOVED reading your analysis 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩)

i ALSO want to talk ab how creative the director was. firstly he was so so accommodating of mark’s ideas 🫂 and also the way he mentioned the use of open space for more scope + leaving a sense of uncertainty (or the fans unclear ab the message) is actually so well thought out. it goes well w mark’s image that’s been cultivated of being distrait or unclear in some ways of but is someone whose genius is uncovered once you understand their art, all since it’s so coded.

really resonated w me and in ways i saw mark’s use of metaphors (and sort of open ended-ness) that he brings out in his poetry reflect in the style of the music video and just, made me really happy. the shots, colours, setting and whatnot was just soooo well thought out and mark’s ideas for the mv were articulated soo well. that boy is a genius and it makes me so proud to see him flourish and explore new things (and i feel so happy to see him w a team like this <3)

YESSS this is exactly what i think!! normally i prefer more implicit imagery/messages (i enjoy knowing what’s going on) and mvs with a more apparent storyline, but i love this mv bcs (like u said) the open-endedness fit the song so wonderfully! especially when it comes to its lyrics, im especially thinking of that “talked” verse where he kinda disses those ppl who make fun of him and say he doesn’t make sense (which is not true) - i think that mv that bears meaning more in the details rather than in a full fledged storyline is a better fit :) and yeah i absolutely agree that it suits mark’s image as well! and also i think that that is somehow a continuation of child bcs the child mv was also more about visual metaphors (?), so i think it works so well in mark’s solo catalogue so far 🫶🏻 and yeah tbh i especially loved the colours in the mv and the colour grading <3 i thought that was kinda phenomenal

and YES im so happy and glad that mark is working with all these talented people, who are not only great at what they do but also seem encouraging towards him and take his vision into consideration a lot! it all makes me even more look forward to molo1 :’)

i have no one else to talk to about this book or anywhere else to talk about it so hello,

this has spoilers, so many spoilers;

i am absolutely distraught and the amount of crying i’ve done today is unbelievable.

first of all, Jude deserved so much better

but so did JB, Willem and Malcolm.

JB was a dick, his whole personality was being black and that’s it. literally that’s it. his mom and dad are both from Haiti (i believe that’s right or his dad is) we get a few things here and there, he’s the ONLY gay character. literally the only one to have a boyfriend be with a boy whatever. he was an asshole and jealous and stupid and there where so many times i wanted to slap him — when he mocked jude all bc of what? they’re trynna get you off crystal meth AND THEN JUDE IS THE ONE WHO STAYED WITH HIM AT THE HOSPITAL— and hug him — when he asked willem why he picked jude and not him, i understood — and then slap him again — when he kissed Jude after willem died — but hug him again — jude literally hated him for no reason at the end?? (they did fix it and it was kind of reasonable, he wanted willem back and was mad)

Malcolm was boring, NOT SORRY. he was a rich mixed kid who grew up with both his parents and r i c h! he literally didn’t have to worry about a thing and yet he did? ok. anyways, he didn’t have an interesting story at all not that we know much about him. we know his mom is white his dad is black we know he’s post black (read the book to learn more) we know he hates JB bc JB is very extra (and he is!) about his race. he loses interest in his chosen career he does his best and he ends up designing Jude’s & Willem’s apartment and then later their home (which was so cute!!! i love that) he came out at gay? but he ended up meeting and dating sophie (who he stays with till he dies) he just disappears tbh.

Willem 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 Willem could do no wrong in my eyes. he’s hot, nice, compassionate, just a sweetie pie. he has a need to be needed. he lived on a farm w his parents & his disabled brother till he went off to college & while he’s in college his brother dies. anyways, he meets Jude along with JB and Malcolm. JB is basically in love with him (tbh idk if this was supposed to be a running joke or true but i’m going to assume it’s true bc of how much JB talked ab it) anyways, he stays beside jude through everything. they get an apartment together, he’s there for him when he cut his arm open, he’s there when his legs begin to go out, he’s there even when he’s got his girlfriends & that is why they never last bc no matter where Willem goes, Jude will be with him, goddamnit!! & he made that VERY clear to all his hoes. eventually, him and jude get together bc he realizes he’s very much attracted to jude (i do not think this was a real attraction, i never saw it as a real attraction willem is probably bisexual, he was mostly with girls until Jude but he did kiss JB in college so idk he did like sex w Jude tho so???? up in the air) they end up together and stay together until the very end ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

Jude ☹️🫶🏻🥰 my love!!! he deserves so much better. left in a trash can, found, sent to a monastery with some creepy ass brothers who touch up on him, then he’s coerced into going with brother luke w lies and ends up at different hotels getting r-ped by men for money then later brother luke began r-ping him. then he gets rescued where brother luke deletes himself. he ends up at a boys home and for a moment you shout out (THANK GOD!!) except nope, no, jude doesn’t get a break— the people there are also r-ping him, until he decides at (16?) that he was done and he runs. he runs and he does what he can hitchhiking toward boston doing what brother luke taught it (it was awful but he says that it wasn’t that bad bc he consented to it) & ended up w an STD when he met a man who said he’d heal him only to end up in this man’s basement where he was healed (sorta) and then the man abused him as everyone else did until he was tired of him and made him run in a field where he ran him down in his car. he also had his hand set on fire for stealing, brother luke taught him how to slice and dice his arm to relieve tension, he was whipped with belts so his body was covered in scars and eventually (before willem) he dated caleb (fuck caleb) caleb beat him & r-ped him. the whole story was focused on Jude fr.

Jude wasn’t gay, let me explain. there’s a passage where Willem asks Jude “do you like men” and he says “i don’t know i just was always with them i thought it was normal” and willem asks “do you like woman” and jude says “it’s too late for me” so i’m guessing he’s in love with willem. like, him and willem are very much soul mates, but not romantically. i don’t see them as romantic at! all! i see them as two people who really draw out the best within each other (willem is the only one who Jude tells his whole story to) so like i love them together ofc but i don’t think jude is gay, at all. i think he was just used to men and well, you get it. dudes asexual asf i can confidently say that. & that’s! fine! he deserves to be left untouched after everything, poor baby ☹️

i love jude, i love willem, i love andy and harold. i literally can’t fit everything in this but oh my god i love this book idc how bad other people say it is. i do hate the author tho, she sucks

i havent gotten too far into the show so far, but i'm already attached to both joey jeremiah and rick munro .

as i started tng first i already knew about joey a bit, but i was a little bit surprised to find out how immature he really was . it was a stark change from watching him try to figure out how to take care of a mentally ill teenager tbh . it was welcome, for the most part . i like how he matured from the start of djh to tng . i think he's very very compellin as a character n i feel for him a lot

rick i know less about . i was worried because he shares the name of another degrassi character . yknow the one . but instead i got a sean cameron-esque bad boy character with a bad family life . i think he's sweet ! i adore his friendship with joey even if it only really lasted that one episode . idk idk somethin about characters that joey saved from abusive fathers /j

the next generation is a . long show . i'm splittin this into diff eras to really be able to choose favorites from tee bee aych . i dont think it would be fair if i excluded characters jus bc there were too many of them . my faves, though, would have to b ellie nash, sean cameron, jt yorke, n craig manning

ellie is . interestin . shes introduced as an outcast goth girl that starts as a friend for ashley at first but then develops a lot throughout the series . she goes through a lot of serious issues that i think degrassi handled well . shes also jus a fun character to watch n someone you want to root for !

sean is very trouble . much like rick, hes a troubled youth, but he has a heart of gold . whenever he gets into trouble or makes a mistake in his mind he always seems to immediately regret it . he lives with his older brother and is very protective over the people he cares about .

jt ! jt . hes funny !! he lived, he died . if i talk ab him more i WILL cry .

craig......look . craig is not a good person . hes a very flawed character and most of his issues stem from issues relating to his problems with his family . its important that we, as viewers, know that craig was abused (resulting in trust issue . he thinks everyone will soon become bored of him and tries to hold onto something new that seems more interested, hence all of the cheating) and that he is bipolar . while these dont excuse his actions they do give the viewers some understanding as to why he could be like this . i think hes charming and hes just...layered . there are so many things to take into account and to look into with him that its just hard NOT to love him

11 reasons why cap 4 should reintroduce Bucky Barnes as the love interest, an essay

to start this off, i am not writing this essay from a shipping place nor do i believe that this would have any influence at all over the upcoming movie. i expect nothing. this is simply something that i would personally like to see. (of course no hate to anybody who thinks differently)

here are 11 reasons why i think making Bucky into Sam Wilson's love interest in Cap 4 would be a good move for Disney.

1. on the Chinese film market - and why it's an irrelevant argument against the inclusion of homosexual themes in Cap 4

the Chinese film market is something that has been blamed for a lack of diversity in Hollywood films a lot lately. many people claim that this market with a lot of buying power has been responsible for the lack of gay and black representation in particular within Hollywood films.

and we have certainly seen Hollywood treating it as such, going so far as to cut gay scenes from movies for their Chinese releases, and vastly minimising John Boyega's (a black actor's) presence in the Chinese poster of Star Wars The Force Awakens.

so we know at the very least that Disney believes this through their own actions and efforts to self-censor for the different markets.

but Captain America 4 is a black-led movie, don't you forget. and Disney can't minimise Sam Wilson/Anthony Mackie in the movie or the poster because it's his movie and his poster. and no amount of creativity in the editing room can change that (thank God!).

so if by their own argument the film is already going to be either banned, panned or slammed in China... then what do they have to fear from making it a gay movie too?

2. oh, the queerbaiting

queerbaiting is an unusual cultural idea. and sometimes i find myself thinking that the term is far too easily used, but then all of a sudden i will stumble upon a movie or show that is so quintessentially cruel and overt in it's... well... queerbaiting that i will start to wonder what the hell kind of a bizarre relationship all these straight people seem to have with their friends. take Troy and Abed from Community or John and Sherlock from Sherlock as the perfect examples of this. (in which my reaction to the show's creators saying the show wasn't gay was to ask so then why did you make it so gay?!)

i felt that Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in tfatws were getting quite close to this level of queerbaiting.

there was the field scene, the couple's counselling scene, the boat scene, the couple's counselling scene, Bucky going with Sam to face Karli when she told Sam to come alone, the couple's counselling scene, ALL the staring scenes, Sam checking out Bucky's ass here as they said goodbye, the "i would move in with him but" hidden scene, "Uncle Bucky" showing up at the cookout scene, the romantic walking off together into the sunset together ending scene, and the couple's counselling scene. did i forget anything? but i mean seriously, the couple's counselling scene!!! that thing they did with their legs and their crotches while staring deep into each other's eyes, would any straight guy willingly do that? do straight guys crotch-snuggle now?

there's also the fact that people started talking about bisexual Bucky Barnes a lot after the tiger pictures line, and the lead writer Malcom Spellman responded to the talk of Bucky's bisexuality with "just keep watching". well we watched, Malcolm. but it's beginning to feel like you were just jerking us around.

3. the writing

seriously though, what else is Bucky Barnes doing right now in the MCU? his only remaining connection to anything going on right now is through Sam. there is literally nothing else established that's left for him to do that doesn't involve Sam. he moved to Louisiana to be closer to Sam (canonically), he hangs out with Sam's family (canonically), and Steve is presumably gone and is definitely not coming back for more adventures.

he has no villains or loose ends left. he has no other superheroes that he appears to be in contact with. he has no girlfriend or potential love interest, or even other friends or family. he is living in a tent that he has secretly set up in Sam's backyard and is mysteriously appearing from the bushes when it's time for dinner like a stray cat.

in my opinion there is no other meaningful and pre-established progression for Bucky's character that wouldn't just feel cheap.

plus, i don't think the general audience would be all that surprised if they kissed. i think a LOT of people picked up on all that tension. i think a lot of straight people picked up on all that tension too.

4. the chemistry between the actors & the chemistry between the characters

the original pitch for tfatws was essentially just this, it was the chemistry between Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie and their respective MCU characters of Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson.

now obviously Anthony and Sebastian are simply friends, and i wouldn't mean to imply anything more. but they are also not their characters.

Sam and Bucky's scenes together before tfatws were both limited and short, and yet audiences still fell in love with the dynamic between the two characters.

in interviews, these two actors are constantly slipping into character and flirting with each other and frankly it's adorable. plus it's really entertaining. i'd love to see that dynamic, unfiltered, in a movie.

because believe it or not the flirting is actually even more open in their interviews than it was in tfatws. and i'm leaving some links as proof.

i'm just saying, why not let their chemistry shine? these two are so talented and so entertaining, especially when you put them in a room together. and can you imagine how absolutely hilarious and brilliant it would be to watch them navigate being a couple?

(and for those who bring up the "friends would be uncomfortable pretending to be dating" argument, i'm not here asking for a sex scene or anything. i don't think anyone would expect them to show any more intimacy (physical or emotional) while playing a couple than what they've already shown together in say... tfatws or in their own interviews. not that i actually expect anything regardless.)

5. if they were a man and a woman they would've gotten together in tfatws

i have no more to add here. just that... yeah, they would've.

6. and i'm not talking about the comics here, i'm talking about the MCU.

i understand fully that none of what i'm saying here falls in line with these characters from the comics. but the mcu itself doesn't fall much in line with the comics either, and these two characters especially are very different from their comics counterparts.

i'm not asking for these two to get together in the comics. tbh i don't think that it would work.

but the mcu Sam and Bucky are different and closer than their comics counterparts. they've got different histories, different backstories, and a very different dynamic. please rest assured that i am only talking about them in the mcu.

7. Bucky Barnes is believably bisexual. and Sam Wilson has never been proven to be straight in the mcu, nor has he had a love interest.

(now please continue to keep in mind that these points only stand for the mcu versions of Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson, and not at all for their comics counterparts.)

Sam Wilson has never had a love interest, which is crazy because have you seen that man! he has had two blink and you'll miss it moments of verbal expression of attraction to women, both in TWS. and that's the extent of it, through his entire history in the mcu.

Bucky Barnes has had a number of surface-level female love interests, but none of them even came close to the level of connection and chemistry that Bucky shares with Sam.

and i'm sorry SarahBucky fans, but i just don't think there's very much to their relationship either. i love Sarah, i really do. but it's Sam who shares all the meaningful moments and history and chemistry with Bucky. and i don't see what making her into a love interest would do for Sarah's character either, what would that add to her story?

and also there is the whole tiger pictures thing... again. which does strongly suggest that Bucky is bisexual whether this was intentional on behalf of the writers or not.

8. it's representation... AND it feels natural

marvel hasn't had a lot of queer representation that's been noticeably present in the MCU at the time of writing this.

there have been a lot of failures so far, from the bisexual erasure of Valkyrie in Thor Ragnarok to the wlw erasure in Black Panther.

there was queerbaiting almost identical to the bisexual Bucky baiting for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. when asked if he had considered featuring a gay hero in gotg2, director James Gunn stated that "We might have already done that. I say, watch the movie." after the movie's release audiences were understandably confused about the lack of queer representation. To which the director followed up his comments with, "But we don't really know who's gay and who's not. It could be any of them."

there is also Loki, considered by most fans after the airing of his six episode series on Disney+ to be both a poor attempt at both genderfluid representation and bisexual representation. with both attempts being summed up fairly well by the term "blink-and-you'll-miss-it". (also it's just terribly written and Loki doesn't wear any interesting clothes! fanficcers are a Goddamn blessing in this hard time!)

and let us not forget that Andrew Garfield was apparently FIRED for pushing for a bisexual spiderman. a bisexual spiderman within an interracial mlm relationship no less.

so for all these failures, marvel, why not allow us queer fans this? two brilliant and heroic men in a loving interracial relationship. two heroes that we can look up to.

now, one of the biggest detractions from the argument for representation is the idea of "forced diversity". and some poorly written characters certainly do end up feeling forced into the narrative. take Iceman in the comics for example, with Jean Grey just straight up suddenly telling him he's gay. like, marvel, sweetie, that's not how this works! and i don't know a lot of queer people who thought much of that "representation".

but the crux of the "forced diversity" argument is almost always that it feels unnatural within the story, right? and i don't think that anyone could say that about MCU Sam and Bucky ending up together, given these characters' existing chemistry and their history. they've both played characters in gay relationships before so we know that it's not outside of either actor's wheelhouse. and y'all know that Anthony and Seb can act, people. if it's in the script i believe that they'll make it seem like the most natural thing on earth.

9. it'd be a nice change

there's been an ongoing meme lately about "Disney's first gay character", the joke being that they continually announce gay characters without really ever including gay characters in their films.

this is to the point where Disney has formed a reputation amongst queer audiences of being homophobic.

if Sam and Bucky were to become a couple, then Disney could have its first actual gay character within a gay relationship. AND have him be in the lead of his own movie, no less.

it's also worth keeping in mind that there's likely an overlap between the people who were outraged by a Sam Wilson Captain America, and the people who'd be outraged by a gay Captain America. and if they were already not seeing the film, then i don't think much is gonna change that.

queer audiences would definitely love it, and the media attention would be guaranteed to be huge. i mean, simply look at the amount of media attention mere rumours of a character's queerness gets you and multiply that by a canon confirmation of said rumours.

but i'm pretty sure that Disney already knows this.

10. and yet, in truth, it's not about the representation

in truth i've never felt that i had any trouble relating to characters of any sexual orientation, race, gender, sex, body type, etc. (although that is not to throw any shade at all on people who do wish to see themselves represented) but for me, i think it's more about the story than the packaging.

and yet, a love story is still just a story. straight or queer, monoethnic or interracial. when two characters have chemistry and history and have sacrificed for each other time and time again, and they also can't keep their hands or their eyes off each other, then i'm pretty sure that that's a love story.

straight or queer, monoethnic or interracial, it shouldn't be about these simple labels. it should be about how well written the relationship is. it should be about chemistry, and history, and sacrifice.

because i'm fucking sick of all the hollow, forced romances in media no matter the genders of the participants. i'm sick of lazily written, shallow relationships where any two people sharing the same space for any extended period of time will simply fall in love. it's boring, it's repetitive, and as a writer myself it drives me up the wall!

romance stories suck! and everyone knows that romance stories suck. between twilight, and most of the entire YA genre, and love triangles (so boring), and romance used as poorly-written throwaway subplots in Hollywood movies, the world is in agreement that the romance in western media is simply dreadful. and yet we still want love stories. it's an entire genre that sits at the heart of the human experience (<3), and yet one which so few of today's best known writers seem truly able to capture.

i don't think that i'm the only one who feels this way, either. i suspect it's actually a large part of why fandom is so romance-centred in the first place, that we're all just starving for a good love story.

(btw i think fandom has a reputation for being something that as a whole that it is not. it has this reputation for straight up demanding things and harassing people until they get their way. while unfortunately there are a few people who do this, they're fucking annoying and i swear that they're far from the majority.

in my experience fandom is mostly about writing a five thousand word story at three am while drunk off your ass because it might make someone whom you've never met smile, editing it in the cold light of day, and then posting it. expecting nothing. sometimes getting nothing. and sometimes getting someone send you kudos or a comment so heartbreakingly wonderful that it makes you smile in return.)

11. so once again, it is all about the writing.

i want to see Sam and Bucky get together in the mcu, not because they would be a gay couple but because i genuinely believe that their story has potential to be an amazing love story.

and i know the mcu isn't about the romance. it's why in my personal opinion we haven't gotten a lot of good canon romances besides Peter Quill and Gamora. and i don't think that the mcu should be all about the romance either. i fucking love the action and the fighting scenes. i love the comedy. Captain America: The Winter Soldier had no romance and it was a fucking treasure, it was an amazing spy-action-thriller and it made my little gay heart dance. Thor Ragnarok had no romance, and it was an utterly brilliant comedic spectacle action film. not every movie needs romance.

but mcu Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes were doing couple's therapy and fixing a boat and walking off into the sunset together in tfatws. they were inseparable on the battlefield. they've got a dynamic. it's beautiful, it's romantic, and it's gold.

a budding relationship between them in the next movie would be a good way to explore both characters more without the narrative feeling too stilted and separate. at the end of tfatws, both Sam and Bucky fans found that their respective fave felt somewhat underutilised and that their characters were underexplored.

now, that problem would be even more difficult to remedy in a movie, because the plotline of a movie needs to be really tight to work (giggity). and we know that the central conflict of the movie is gonna be action-based (which is good), but we still need each character's personal journey and growth to tie into the main conflict. (which is another issue that some fans found with tfatws, that these characters didn't really feel connected to the action-based plot on a more personal level.)

if Sam and Bucky are already in a relationship, however, this whole dynamic changes. first, their relationship has already been set up for nicely since TWS and through tfatws and they would officially be the best-fleshed-out couple in the mcu. but most importantly, a relationship gives them a perfect vehicle to explore both of their pasts comparatively and connect them personally to the action-based plot.

do you want to establish that Sam is a little too trusting and naïve? then establish this through his relationship with Bucky, and through showing his placing his trust in Bucky. (rather than through having him sympathise with a villain who threatened to murder his sister and his nephews).

perhaps you want to show Bucky recovering from his trauma? show us how comfortable he is with Sam. they get along, they're enjoying each other's presence, we see more of Sam's life and of his family, and then let Bucky tell Sam something that's raw and dark and honest about his life as The Winter Soldier. something about a memory, one that he only just recalled. he's opening up. and maybe what he tells Sam is even something that sets up the future action-based conflict, to ground that in something real.

you want to explore that Sam has trauma too? do this through Bucky. he tells Bucky a story about his time in the military. in the form of a flashback, he shares his own story of loss to evoke before the audience the shared theme of feeling at fault even when you're simply a helpless bystander to an act of pure destruction.

then, action sequence! and it's directly connected to Bucky's time as the Winter Soldier. explore the grief of someone whose life the Winter Soldier tore apart manifesting into a villain perpetuating the cycle of pain. establish your villain.

Later, Sam is dragged into battle against this villain for protecting Bucky. But Bucky doesn't want Sam to protect him. He feels guilt for what he can't control and he doesn't want Sam getting hurt because of him. Bucky reminds Sam that he has a family, one who needs him and who loves him. He tells him to go home.

Sam reminds Bucky that he's a part of that family. And that sure Sam's a hero and his job is to protect anyone and everyone, but that he's doing it because he wants to. It's not simply to prove that he can, or to prove that he's not a bystander (this connects to Sam's trauma here), but that he's doing it to help people.

and this gets Bucky thinking about who he is and what he's doing here. is he a hero who stands by Sam's side? or is he an ordinary man who stands aside? or perhaps, does he stand alone? what does he stand for? Maybe Sam knows. But does Bucky?

Sam and Bucky fight off the villain again, and for the first time Bucky meets this adversary face to face. And Bucky recognises this villain, and has a flashback to the genuine pain that he inflicted upon them in the form of the Winter Soldier. Bucky freezes mid-fight, he almost dies, and Sam has to save him.

Sam chews Bucky out for almost getting killed because he was afraid for him. but Bucky takes this the wrong way and goes off to fight the villain alone, or perhaps to die alone, he's not quite sure.

He puts up a half-hearted fight. He apologises for what the Winter Soldier has done, and he waits for the killing blow, when Sam swoops down and he saves him. He asks Sam why he saved him and Sam calls him a moron. And then, Sam asks him what sacrificing himself would solve. He tells him that you can't choose your past but you can choose your future (connecting to his own experience of loss and guilt and grief). And that no matter what Bucky Barnes still has a future, whether that's as the Winter Soldier or the White Wolf or just some dork with a day job. And that he has a future as a part of Sam's family too.

Sam fights the villain, and it's toe to toe. He delivers a few good blows, but receives a fair few himself. And then the villain tears off his wings, first one and then the other, in a manner reminiscent of what the Winter Soldier did to him in TWS. Through Bucky's eyes there's a flashback to highlight the parallels. Sam gets back on his feet and he fights his best fight, but is now losing.

And then the heavily injured Bucky steps up and fights by Sam's side, and only together do they take down the villain.

"So... I inspired you, huh?" Sam teases with a smile, utterly exhausted. "With my heroism and-"

"You inspired me." Bucky said, equally exhausted. "Let's leave it at that."

Together, Sam and Bucky go back to the safety and warmth of their family. Sam fixes his wings. Sam goes back to being Captain America. And Bucky... he's around, but it's unclear what he's doing.

That is, until the very end. When Sam is in a fight, and suddenly Bucky shows up and helps him out.

"What are you doing here?" Sam asks.

"I've made up my mind." Bucky says. "I'm the Winter Soldier. But now I'll save lives, Sam. Now, like you, I'll be a hero."

Sam smirks. "So does this make you my sidekick, then?"

Bucky smiles. "C'mon, at least make me a partner." He says.

"How about co-workers." Sam says (in flashback, he remembers back to the death of his last on-the-job partner).

"How about friends." Bucky says, with a wry look.

"Bucky... I don't want to see you put your dumbass self in danger." Sam says.

"Oh, and it's ok for you to go running off into danger on your own all the time?" Bucky asks.

"Yes." Sam says stubbornly. "Absolutely it is."

"Why?"

"Because I'm not a dumbass?!"

"Sam, if you think I'm not gonna be watching your back for the rest of time... then you're the biggest dumbass I know. And I don't care if you need me or not, I will be there for you."

"Because Sam, you're more than Captain America. You're more than a good soldier. You're a good man. And I think sometimes, the world forgets what the difference is."

...or something like that.

(i only spent like 15 minutes on that. you know if i were actually writing this movie i would come up with something much better. and if anyone from marvel is seeing this, yes i can come work for you. i will make the time, let's do this thing right!)

finale

at the end of the day, whether or not the mcu chooses to make Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes a couple, it's their decision. and they don't owe me anything.
