People who engage in the Hetalia fandom while openly disliking the source material and even Himaruya himself sound kinda like hypocrites to me.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but please stay away from me, this kind of mindset truly annoys me and makes me uncomfortable.
Am I gatekeeping? No, not really, I just believe that being a fan of something should mean, you know, being a fan and liking the source material at the very least. It should be like, the lowest the bar can get. Below that, there's not being a fan.

you know i just typed a paragraph about it and then deleted it but in far fewer words I fucking hate the trope of women characters in traditional fantasy who are clearly intended to be empowering to SOME members of the audience by merit of the fact that they wield some secondhand power over like magic or dragons or a politician or something all while still embodying this sexy nonthreatening mystically-beautiful divine femininity. so the writer has fulfilled their feminism quota by inventing a woman whose entire character could easily be eclipsed in artistic merit by rachel platten's hit single fight song to the exact same emotional effect, and much of their audience is satisfied by this, so we as the dissatisfied reader have no hope in hell of getting to take in a woman character who can heft a sword or be big and muscular or god forbid do anything interesting with her gender. and trans characters of any kind? FORGET about it. not gonna happen. this fantasy is someone else's fantasy and it won't let you forget it.

I thought you liked physics ?
yes I do. I love physics. I love it bc I was raised by a brainiac engineer mother who taught me to see math as fun from a very young age. and sometimes it pisses me off bc I don’t understand concepts immediately and my ego is HURT but then I humble myself and learn it and I’m back to adoring it again

I don't want to invade the community, but I genuinely can't tell if my kin feelings are voluntary or involuntary. Does that mean I'm a KFF?
Tl;dr: No. Also heads-up that I get very emphatic in this post; that's not because I'm mad at you or anything, it's because people in general keep either misunderstanding or intentionally twisting what "KFF" is supposed to mean to make it sound way more exclusionist and gatekeepery than it actually is and I'm getting frustrated with that.
You're only "KFF" if you are knowingly, actively, intentionally using the word "kinning" to mean relating to, projecting onto, etc. a character while not actually at all identifying as them. That is, if you are "kinning for fun," "kinning" for the purpose of having fun, and it's not at all a genuine identity thing for you. It's in the phrase they use for themselves from which the acronym "KFF" came from.
If you identify as them in some way (voluntary or involuntary imo - the words copinglinker/otherlinker exist specifically for voluntary identity, but as I've said in a recent post, I find hardline enforcing that distinction less and less useful as time goes on, though certainly having the words available is useful, and anyway 'linkers aren't KFF either), you're not KFF.
If you aren't sure whether it's an identify-as thing or something else, and you're figuring that out, you're not KFF.
If you're not sure whether it's an identify-as thing or something else, and have given up on figuring it out because that line isn't clear for you and just want to settle somewhere and talk about your experiences genuinely, you're not KFF.
If you enjoy being 'kin and like to joke around and have fun with it, but it is still a genuine identity thing for you at its core, you're not KFF.
If you have a "weird" identity (in literally whatever way you can think of), that does not make you KFF.
KFF has a very specific meaning and "my experiences are weird and/or blurry in one aspect or another and I'm not quite sure what to make of them" is not it. (Nor is "having fun with being 'kin" and I really wish people would stop confusing those two.) It specifically (again, as is in the literal name) means people who are intentionally misusing "kinning" for something they KNOW isn't an identity thing.

Why do people say Noah is gay? He looks pretty straight to me😷
i honestly think hes straight and just has that same aggressive ally energy as a mom whos kid comes out to them and then they buy them everything they see with a rainbow on it for the rest of time. but idk him personally so maybe hes queer who knows. im not gonna read into his or finns sexuality they way i do with their characters. and i think anybody who does really needs to stop.
posting about a little observation that make you think either of them are queer is probably pretty harmless but making long posts completely analyzing their behavior especially if its something that they didnt willingly put on the internet like a picture/video someone else took without them knowing is so gross. theyre still teenagers. if either of them are queer, cool, let them figure that out and come out (if they choose to) on their own terms. dont get involved and act like you know them personally.

So you have mentioned long ago that btses and strays are similar and I was curious how? I see it in their um interesting fandoms. But I can also see similarities with blokb kinda.
well.
rapper leader that supposedly had a hand in choosing members
three rapper unit
marketed as a 'self produced' group
self love + positive reinforcement branding
weekly recurring lives/shows on vlive
huge emphasis on intl audiences to the point where there's not a lot of domestic regard
extremely poorly behaved fanbase of mostly intl fans
vocalists that can't pass muster
overrated dancer
underrated dancer that gets shafted constantly
steep increase in production budget that does nothing visually other than show off how much money the company has

i HATE it when vegan restaurants list things on their menu as if they're the thing they say they are. like. "pizza with ham and mozzarella". "pasta with chicken". clearly it's not actually those things so for the love of god tell me what it's actually made with so i know if i'm allergic to it or not
