Second binding I did was Passerine, by @thcscus!

This has always been one of my favorite fics of all time, and it only felt right that I had a copy of my own to put on my shelf. I did this one during late June of 2022.

This was my first time attempting both a sewn endband and trimming of my textblock, but I’m still very proud of it.

Another thing I love about this is the typesetting! I spent so long trying to make it as elegant and fancy as the actual vibes of the fic itself, and I’m still so damn proud of how it came out. Especially with the little 3 line poems that were in the summaries of each chapter

Passerine I don't like that fic and the prequel made me like it even less then again maybe I'm just salty because I read the run and go and was sad to see very little fanart of it

I think Passerine was fantastic - if you ignore that it is supposed to be an SBI/DSMP fic. the characterization was consistent and the story was well paced and there was so much payoff despite all of it being thoroughly sad or at best bittersweet, but none of the characters acted like their actual counterparts. it may have been because of the popular characterization of them within the fandom? (Dream definitely felt that way)

like I gotta respect it for becoming so big, it was a lightning in a bottle, but it is a little disappointing in retrospect. never ended up reading shrike and the more I hear about it the happier I am to have dodged that bullet

Yesterday there was heavy rain. And when I walked around the kitchen, and I came across a frog. Seeing the frog, I remembered one part of Passerine... When P! Techno’s little sister tells him about how she and her mother were walking around the village, but when the rain came, they had to hide under a tree. And there in the puddle she saw a lot of frogs.
