Cold-blooded (BaizhuxReader)
Prompt: 'cuddle me already, damit'
--------------------------------------------------------------
Any other man you would not have believed a single word if he had come with this excuse. But the doctor was different. Yes, he also played his games, but such a thing was far below his dignity. Before you could answer, Baizhu took off his glove and put your hand on his arm. His skin was really freezing! If his body temperature was already so low, how was he able to move at all?
"I understand your reluctance and believe me when I tell you that I am anything but comfortable asking you to do this," his flame-colored eyes looked to the side in embarrassment. He seemed really uncomfortable.
Slowly you let your fingers slide down his arm, "Don't worry, I don't have a problem with it if it helps to keep you warm. But I am curious…"
His green eyebrow went up questioningly.
"Does your cold-bloodedness come from your illness, or?" you looked him straight in the eye and nodded slightly. Your counterpart understood immediately and covered his pretty mouth with his fingers before chuckling.
"My illness is actually making it worse, but no, my cold-bloodedness is part of my 'nature'. I usually combat it with a hot water bottle or a cherry stone pillow. However, I didn't expect it to start raining like this. That was careless of me. I must have been distracted."
You stopped his babbling with a hand gesture and smiled at him encouragingly, "Let's try it, but I warn you, I'm not good at keeping my body temperature myself, so I can't promise it will work."
"Don't worry! I didn't even expected you to comply with my brazen request," Baizhu waved his hands.
Chansheng had already nestled herself on one of the roof beams and watched the spectacle as each thunderclap elicited a small hiss from her. Her partner looked up at her with concern, "Are you sure you want to stay up there? I can make room for you in my first aid bag if you want."
The white snake didn't even have eyelids, but still seemed capable of a provocative facial expression. something that has always fascinated you.
"No thanksss. I'd like to be able to warp, after all, sshould you two have other plansss for keeping warm…"
"Changsheng!" now it was Baizhu who let out a low hiss and shook his head, " Y/N is the whole situation certainly awkward enough, it doesn't need your rash comments."
Your cheeks began to glow and you looked to the side, embarrassed. Actually, a comment of that kind was quite to be expected from this firecracker. Nevertheless, it caught you off guard.
Even more unprepared, however, was the thought that you wouldn't mind too much if there was 'more' that night. You quickly discarded the dirty idea before it could take a more precise form.
Even if such a thing were within the realm of possibility, Baizhu would never abuse your trust in such a way. He was not exactly known for his high caliber, but he was far from being that corrupt. Despite all the rumors, he still had his principles, especially in this area.
In general, he was extremely careful when it came to lust and love. He knew about his attraction and his good looks that made many people of all sexes fall into pining behind his back.
You were just one of many who had fallen for his charm and the mysterious aura around him.
With a shake of your head, you dispelled the thoughts and turned to your backpack. You didn't have anything to sleep in, but you had gotten used to bringing at least one set of change clothes with you when you worked with the pharmacist. It was very important to make a well-groomed impression during house calls and you never knew what the treatment would entail.
As you tried to shoo away the painful memory of your favorite blouse full of blood, you felt a light tap on your shoulder.
Turning around you looked directly into the two amber eyes, with the vertical pupils and the coquettish eye shadow. Your pulse inevitably quickened a bit.
"Do you want to go to the bathroom first?"
"You just go first… I'll ask when dinner is served." was your short-tempered answer, before you quickly walked out the door.
~A short while and a relativley quiet dinner later~
"Is there a side you prefer?", Baizhus eyed you closely, his senses attuned to regsitrating any hint of unwillingness on your part.
You're pretty nervous, but not so much that your boss is going to stop the whole thing.
"F/s," you say after thinking about it for the first time in your life. He seemed to want to make you as comfortable as possible. The pharmacist even emphasized that no physical contact was necessary, your body temperature would be evenly distributed under the blanket and that was enough for him not to cool down too much, which should speed up your departure the next day.
Changsheng on the beam had already left for the land of dreams a long time ago, which was only demostrated by the absence of her occasional tongue flick.
The two of you also lay down, careful to keep a respectable distance. Lying in a bed as boss and employee was wicked enough.
After a few hours, however, there was nothing left of the gap between you. The storm outside had brought with it a considerable chill. Instead of giving Baizhu some warmth, you both froze, which made you sleep closer to each other.
As Baizhu's body moved on its own in search of warmth, his hand on your hip woke you both up. The doctor was about to rattle off a series of apologies when you abruptly interrupted him.
"Cuddle me already, damn it," your demand was underlined by the chattering of your teeth. As much as some depraved part of you wanted those words to have an ambiguous meaning, it was the coldness that made you call out to him.
The green-haired one hesitated, but gave in after another blast of ice-cold wind and snuggled up to you, burying his face in your neck. You were freezing yourself, but compared to him, your body was lukewarm.
And he became steadily warmer. Now it was the bashfulness that made your body run hot. His figure was so close that you felt every single fiber that touched your body. His silky soft skin, which laid like cool satin on you. His long fingers wrapped securely around your side. His concise hip bone that pressed right into your back dimple. One of your most erogenous spots… In addition, his breath brushed in even strokes over your neck.
Behind you, Baizhu had already noticed how his presence made your body warm up. He had to pull himself together not to provoke you even more to be able to tap more heat from you in return. Restrained by the cold like that he wouldn't be able to do anything anyways. Not that he would...
He was not a saint, but he was not that vicious either.
The only thing he let himself do was to let his hand slide up and down your side once.
Even though everything in him screamed to constrict you and devour you in the most sinful ways...

DEATH ISLAND NEWS
Set in 2015, a year after Vendetta.
Chris is in it voiced by Kevin Dorman (Umbrella Chronicles and Vendetta VA). His character bio has no new info, but I do like this description "He is an ace with excellent observation and insight skills as well as outstanding combat and survival skills. As he has aged, he has lost some of his former hot-bloodedness, but still retains a strong sense of justice. He has strong feelings for his comrades, and as a living legend of the BSAA, he is held in awe and adored by many of his subordinates." Just for emphasising a few underrated aspects of his character as well as how his character has developed and changed over the years.
Leon voiced by Matt Mercer (interesting when they had Nick for RE4make but I guess they wanted an older-sounding guy for this?). His character bio really isn't much, just mentions the events of RE2 and RE4 and says he's a skilled survivor and good in combat (also says "good judgement" which I feel like only applies to surviving zombie outbreaks and not to any of his life choices but OK).
Jill = Nicole. Her bio has the most interesting info as it fills in some gaps. Apparently after RE5, the side-effects of the virus continued to affect her, preventing her from aging (and possibly other physical effects, it's unclear), but she was also seriously traumatised and only returned to the BSAA after "a long period of observation and rehabilitation".
Claire = Stephanie. She's still working for TerraSave providing relief for bioterror victims, she has combat training of course (and has done extra training beyond the self-defence Chris initially taught her) but it's not her focus. "She has the same headstrong personality as her older brother, but she has a kind heart and is devoted to the weak." Also confirms her and Leon are still "comrades-in-arms": the description of them being good friends who trust each other in the RE6 files already meant they had to repair their friendship after Infinite Darkness but it's good to have that confirmed. (I've seen an odd number of Leon fans who are apparently so desperate for their fav to be the biggest victim ever that they insist Claire cruelly abandoned him, refused to ever see him again, and left him alone in the world with no friends after ID.)
Rebecca = Erin Cahill (Vendetta VA). She's an advisor to the BSAA and a university professor. "She has a gutsy personality that is not easily swayed by the slightest thing, and has the ability to take action and make decisions", so she's matured quite a bit since RE1, which is nice to see.
María Gómez, one of the secondary villains from Vendetta, returns! Vendetta implied she was going to try and avenge her father's death, nice to see them actually following up on that. She's working with a new bad guy, a former USS operative called Dylan who was in Raccoon City.

Kill Shot: Niki Nishimura
Tumblr media
member: enhypen niki
genre: mafia! enhypen
synopsis: you're an fbi agent working for the nishimura cartel as an undercover spy. your cover is blown in the presence of the boss' youngest son.
a/n: it has been a hot minute since i've written something. my writing style has definitely changed, and this fic will not focus on any romance whatsoever. based on the new song by itzy.
w/c: probably like 400
Tumblr media
the nishimura cartel is not one for the weak - of course, that's what everybody says about any mafia system or any cartel. but when you're knee-deep in it, involved with their transactions and being a person of importance to their routines, danger becomes a thin line you can cross without even knowing.
japanese mafias and cartels very seldom include the likes of anybody below the age of 16, so when jung dayoon was very carefully sifted into the system, she was very surprised to meet the youngest member - niki nishimura - the middle child of three and the only son of his father.
her focus became keeping an eye on him, as well as his sisters. His older sister is the pride of the family. despite being just one year older than him, her missions and tasks started way before he did. she was 15 when she first held a gun to a man's head, and jung dayoon was there to watch the inherited cold-bloodedness she had.
but it was too much effort to have jung dayoon sifted into the system, so blowing her cover now, at six months, would be too fast. one of the reasons for her reluctance to bust them is that she wouldn't know what would happen to the three children. they may have been in a cartel but nobody could deny that they were living a life most people would've wanted.
they never starved. they always got the newest toys. always sat in expensive cars and always ate the best things. as ironic as it seemed, these children were in a bubble - if the bubble was covered in spikes and poison and killed anybody who touched it.
click.
she clicks the magazine into the gun and sets it down. turning around, she meets eye to eye with niki, who closes the door behind him.
they don't knock here. all the nishimuras never have to knock. dayoon has lost count the number of times she's tried to use her pager and gotten a heart attack.
"i was just looking for you."
dayoon almost feels emotional - the first time she met him, his voice was still that of a boy's. she was also taller than him. now, his voice is low enough to go unnnoticed if he doesn't bother to speak up, and during conversations, she remains a foot away from him to save her neck the ache.
"what is it?" she passes off rubbing the barrel of the sniper with her sleeve to push her pager up her arm.
"you know how my first task's probably coming soon? i just was... just wondering... how did you get in? i mean, if my father trusted you, then you must be good at something."
his words sting. it's been difficult trying to hide the hurt, the sorrow, the anger and every other emotion on the drawing board while working here. dayoon sometimes wonders if she was the right person to be made an undercover agent, but by the time she realised who she was dealing with, it was too late.
she scoffs. "'good at something'? i hope that hasn't been your impression of me the entire time i've been working here."
niki shrugs and shoves his hands into his pockets, finding a chair nearby to sit in. dayoon remains standing. it's necessary that nobody sits in a nishimura's presence.
dayoon notices the lack of response - he's not going to ask again.
"i have never missed a shot in my life. 100% fatality. thought you would've already known," she composes herself and places her hands infront of her abdomen.
niki fiddles with the pistol on the table he's at. then, he pauses and tilts his head to look at her, eyes dark through his blonde hair which he hasn't gotten past ever since he got it bleached.
she remembers that day - he looks like he aged two or three years. sometimes, she thinks about how terrifying he is, that if a child can be capable of doing certain things, then what will he be capable of when he's an adult?
niki is one of those people who gets more intimidating as he grows older, for he's following in his father's footsteps more and more each day. and dayoon knew for a fact that if she slipped up, the chances of niki catching her would be much higher than her father or his sisters. he's not the heir to the cartel for nothing.
"my father can find a sniper anywhere. why you?"
dayoon takes a deep breath. because the police force planted me in a spot where your father will see me as the best of the best in his circumstance.
"i don't know, you tell me," dayoon returns a shrug. she knows better than to speak to him in this tone - but niki is sharp. he is ruthless. he can tell when you're lying, and right now, she's already in danger. it's better for her to disguise it with courage, nonchalance.
niki sighs, lacking patience. he drags a finger down his left temple, then adjusts his arm to reach for the pistol again.
"sometimes, just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it's not there."
his voice is just loud enough for her to hear - but she's having trouble processing his words.
dayoon cocks her head, slightly anxious. "i'm afraid i don't understand."
"i'm telling you... to not be arrogant. arrogance is enough to make a mistake. a fatal one."
she finally frowns, reaching behind her for the gun.
"i'm not here to kill you."
"then why are you telling me all this?"
"because i'd hate to have to blow your guts out tomorrow for my first assignment," niki stands, hand grabbing the pistol and raising it to eye level.
dayoon's heart is in her mouth, and her fingers begin to tremble upon the realisation. there are no thoughts in her head, for she's simply preparing herself for death.
but instead, niki releasing the pistol and lets it swing around his index finger, allowing her to take it.
"your life or the safety of the cartel."
dayoon knows how fast he is with guns, so she doesn't bother taking it out of his hands.
"the cartel is the reason why the city isn't safe."
"and yet half of the cartel have families to feed. you may not see it our way, but why should you ruin those... when i'm letting you go?"
"your father will know."
"my father already knows."
she pauses.
"he was just reserving you. for me. so you can either accept my proposal and keep your mouth shut... or come tomorrow and let me put a bullet through your eyes. your choice."

She is one of the founding members of the BSAA and a former member of S.T.A.R.S., a special forces unit of the Raccoon City Police Department. She has been fighting against numerous bio-terrorist attacks together with Chris. She originally had a strong sense of justice and responsibility, but when she was captured by the enemy in the "Spencer Residence Incident," she was brainwashed by the administration of the t-virus and mental control, and became involved in bioterrorism herself. Even after being rescued by Chris, the side effects of the virus affected the cell division in her body, which suppressed her physical deterioration but left her with psychological aftereffects. After a long period of observation and rehabilitation, she returns to her unit.

One chapter in, and I already cannot *stand* this LI, they're just an asshole?? The anger issues are not it I'm afraid.
See I actually don’t hate Casey yet. The hot-bloodedness and eagerness to jump at any sort of bait are annoying and childish, but I can still see the potential in the dynamic between him and MC. What I don’t like though is the same old “you have to crack through LI’s icy exterior to get an ounce of genuine respect” thing. I see why they’re doing it because hockey and the whole fire and ice dichotomy of it all. But if they wanted to make a hockey book at some point, they shouldn’t have used this trope in practically every other romance book they’ve written and even some of the non romance ones.
Also, if PB were actually as groundbreakingly diverse/inclusive and woke as they think they are, this would’ve been a great opportunity to make subtle commentary on the state of sports entertainment and how race plays a huge role in the treatment and perception of a player. But knowing PB, the best we’ll get on that is 1 or 2 throwaway lines in a forgettable chapter, especially because the LI is race customizable to begin with. And even if they wanted to do more, I wouldn’t trust them with it anyway. So for me I’m more upset about how we’re most likely just gonna get another boring, shallow book with too much focus on MC’s hardened nipples and fire crotch despite there being bits of promise elsewhere

Gen V, Complete!
Hooray! We've taken, shall we say, a full smash census of the Unova Region's most smashable Pokemon!
As such, let us proceed with the customary look at this generations...
Sultans of Smash!
(Which, as I'm sure y'all are aware of by now, is just a fancy way of saying they got more "Smash" than "Pass" votes.)
So let's not delay further, how about we see what Gen V has to offer? Our Smashables are (under the Read More because oh man, as per usual, this gonna take a while):
1. Oh hey, looks like we're back to starting with the Grass Starter! But really, I shouldn't be too surprised, since said Grass Starter is the imposing yet regal Serperior! At 72.9% Smashable we're starting Unova off strong with a Pokemon of such noble bearing we can't help but stand at attention in the face of such a glare.
2. And next on the list, we have our Fire Starter, Emboar! With plenty to love, a charming hot-bloodedness, and a warmth both physical and emotional, it's easy to see how they earned that 68.9% Smash rating!
3. Samurai have always had a certain romance about them, not to dissimilar to the romances of European knights. And with our Water Starter, Samurott, we can see this romance (or at least a kind of romance) is alive and well! Whether it's Unovan Samurott's resemblance to a more standard samurai (and 60.1% Smash rating) or the more black knight/ronin-esque Hisuian variant (and said variant's 70.9% rating), it's clear many will be romantically interested in this samurai.
4. Seems Weavile isn't the only thief to take hearts, because we have the very literal cat burglar Liepard sneaking their way into the Sultans of Smash! As that 64.2% Smash rating demonstrates, this cat has more than just razor sharp claws in their arsenal of tools.
5. Like a bolt from the blue, it's time for the Reaper Rev- Wait, wrong series. But, incorrect references aside, our next entry does make their way onto the list from out of the blue! Zebstrika, everyone's favorite zapping zebra, has charged their way onto the list with a 55.4% Smash rating!
6. Our next entrant, I dunno what I can say about them, other than the fact that I really had to force myself to put in that "I dunno" part in the beginning there because in nearly every language, their name is a pun that means being unsure if you know the answer to a question! As you can probably guess from that, it's Audino! Not hard to see how they got here, they're cute! They're lovable! They help at Pokemon Centers! They have a 56.5% Smash rating! And, they have a Mega Evolution with a strong 67.7% rating! What can I say, everyone loves the healer! (Well the reasonable people do.)
7. You guys have a thing for parental figures, don't y'all? Why do I ask? Because next on the list we have Leavanny, the Nurturing Pokemon! With a 71.2% Smash rating, I reiterate on my point that y'all seem to have a thing for more parent-like Pokemon. Although... I suppose, considering Leavanny's habit of making plants into wearable accessories and clothes, Leavanny has the benefit of being the most likely Pokemon to make you a flower crown! And I gotta admit, hard not to appreciate a gesture like that.
8. This next one, some of y'all seemed surprised about! But me? I saw them coming a mile away, I have seen my fair share of people gushing about this Pokemon! Who is it? Why, it's none other than Scolipede! Just shy of the 70% mark with a still-majorly-impressive 69.9% Smash rating, looks like this massive bug's cool looks have attracted more than you'd think!
9. Nobility takes many forms, as seen by our next Sultan's two forms! But no matter what form Lilligant takes, her elegance and grace are evident! Whether it's the more princess like Unovan Lilligant (67.7% Smash rating) or the more sporty and athletic Hisuian Lilligant (68.7% Smash rating), the beauty of this noble flower cannot be denied.
10. Oh hey, a middle evolution! Haven't seen one of these in a while! All said though I am not surprised. Have you ever heard the expression "Girls want bad boys"? Because even though not all of y'all are women and not all Krokoroks are dudes, I think that same principal still applies! If nothing else, that 52.4% Smash rating seems to indicate something!
11. But obviously, the badder the dude, the more people want them. This is definitely real science, look we have Krookodile to prove it! They're basically the baddest crocodile ever, and they've got a solid 64.8% Smash rating to back up the conclusion!
12. When exploring the Relic Castle, one must beware any sarcophagus they see, for it may actually be a Cofagrifus! At least, I say beware, but judging by that 55.5% Smash rating, I suspect many of y'all would respond to my warning with a hearty "Don't threaten me with a good time!" And to each their own, but I'd just like to say maybe catch them first so the smashing can be done much more safely?
13. This next Pokemon may be a master of illusions, but you know what isn't illusory? Everyone's love for them! That's right, it's the Pokemon I personally was most looking forward to, Zoroark! And Oh Boy, they pulled Some Numbers, both Unovan and Hisuian alike. Coming in at a whopping 84.5% Smash and an equally impressive 84.2% Smash respectively, I'm glad to report that these two have dethroned previous record holder Hisuian Typhlosion within the vaunted ranks of the Gods of Smash! And yes, I'm counting them together as co-holders of the record. The percentages are so close I'm convinced the difference in numbers is pretty much just because they got different numbers of votes. Yes, it seems Zoroark's popularity from back when Gen V was young never really waned.
14. Anyways, coming down from the high of our new Gods of Smash, we find ourselves in the presence of the lovely Cinccino and her classy feather boa-esque fur! Coming in at a 51.5% Smash rating, seems this chinchilla cleans up quite nicely.
15. So many people love goth fashion, which is understandable as that shit rules. So it's probably no surprise that Gothitelle, who may as well be called the Goth Pokemon, managed to get a 61.9% Smash rating! They don't seem surprised either, they probably foresaw it with their powers...
16. I'm gonna be honest, I've genuinely got nothing for this one, they came out of left field for me. Reuniclus and their 50.9% Smash rating! I mean, considering they're a kind of slime creature maybe I shouldn't be too surprised (I've seen some very risque slime people art), and yet somehow I am.
17. People do love a majestic stag. Their great antlers, their graceful form and movements, some even consider them an embodiment of nature itself. So it's kinda fitting on multiple ends that our next Sultan is Sawsbuck, the embodiment of the seasons! Pulling a 56.3% rating in Spring Form, a 53.7% rating in Summer Form, a 60.3% rating in Autumn Form, and a 63.2% rating in Winter Form, Sawsbuck has something for any enjoyer of any season (Especially the colder season fans it seems).
18. On next Sultan, I must say there's a lot to appreciate. Their Typing paired with Levitate, their sucker-shaped mouth having many applications for smashing, the electricity for those of y'all into that, they have it all. Yes, it's true, Eelektross has made it into the Sultans of Smash with a 51.9% Smash rating! I'd call it shocking, but the only thing shocking here is their type. It's a shame Eelektross doesn't have any bioluminescence though, imagine the pun! (If they lit up they'd be a Lamprey! *Ba-Dum-Tss*)
19. Swinging onto the list with all the subtlety of a battleaxe, it's Haxorus! Packing some very nice armor, a head like a fine axe, and a 59.6% Smash rating, this dragon warrior is primed for more than battle!
20. When they say everybody was kung-fu fighting, what they don't tell you is everybody was doing it in hopes of impressing this next Sultan of Smash. Mienshao, the next entry on our list, showcases the power and skill of a martial artist to great effect, earning themselves a 70.5% Smash rating! By the way, did you know smashing is actually a decent form of exercise? So you know, you could call it "Training" and technically not be incorrect!
21. It's official: You dig Giant Robots, I dig Giant Robots, We dig Giant Robots! How do I know? Because of this next Pokemon, Golurk! But with Golurk being that big it's only fair their heart is sized to match. And at a 51.3% Smash rating, it's clear this Golurk isn't just for show.
22. Everybody crazy about a Sharp Dressed Man, so of course it stands to reason that Bisharp would make the list! Ranking at a 53.6% Smash rating, it’s obvious Bisharp is the Sharpest Dressed Pokemon of all.
23. Normally, with this Pokemon, there's a certain image that comes with saying they eat everything. But for many of y'all, I think Hydreigon's gonna be doing a different kind of eating. But hey, three mouths! That 61.5% Smash rating agrees with me there.
24. This next one, holy shit I actually had to keep checking over the poll period because this is the closest to a tie we've had since Persian! But it seems the sun has finally risen on this one's victory... Wait, that's not the sun, it's said victor, Volcarona! Coming in with a 50.2% Smash rating! Their smashability shines as brightly as they do, it seems.
25. With steely gaze, a heart of justice, and several literary references to The Three Musketeers, We move on to our first Gen V Legendary, Cobalion! Achieving a 50.4% Smash rating, Cobalion surely has some of the romance of the Original Three Musketeers in them.
26. But if you know The Three Musketeers, you likely know Athos (whom Cobalion is the closest equivalent to) was never the lady killer of the group. Who was, the uninitiated among you may ask? Well, that would be Aramis, whom Virizion stands in for! And indeed, Virizion seems to have definitely inherited the casanova trait from their literary inspiration, if that impressive 62% Smash rating is any indication!
27. And with this next one, the truth is obvious: Reshiram is Smashable! 69.9% Smashable, to be precise! But it's no surprise, this white dragon has much to offer, such as luxurious fur and a willingness to stand by their partner! Also this official trading card that gives them Bishōnen vibes.
28. But we can't have just Reshiram, we need to have their counterpart so as to maintain an ideal balance! Thankfully, we do! Zekrom has also made the list with a fine 68.4% Smash rating! Thus we do have both Yin and Yang here in the Sultans.
29. Did you know there's a term for a void of sorts relating to yin and yang? It's wuji, an absence of either element. And boy howdy do we have a Pokemon for that in Kyurem! That said, Kyurem is another case of "Only the Alternate Forms make it in". White Kyurem gets in with a 56.3% Smash rating, and Black Kyurem gets in with a 52.7% Smash rating. Still, it's good to know there's at least one form of Kyurem that won't leave you with a void in your heart.
30. And last but certainly not least, we have the final Sultan of Smash in Gen V, Meloetta the Mythical Muse! She dances! She Sings! She achieves a 66% Smash rating in Aria Forme and a 61.3% Smash rating in Pirouette Forme! She does it all for the joy of the people. Though we do still have one question regarding Meloetta... Will they ever bring back the mentions of her supposed red shoes she was mentioned to have lost in Gen V? We may never know...
And so, it is time to close the book on the Gen V Who's Who of Smashing. Having brought ourselves to an impressive total of 118 Sultans of Smash, I must say to keep a close eye on this blog, because Gen VI's list will hit sooner than you think!

Hey, HR? We finally hired a protagonist to for our robot, and they gave us this aptitude test... Can you try and interpret this for me? I just need an idea of who we just hired.

I made a quirk a while ago, and debated about sending it here for ages. Doing it now cus..why not. It's called Drake (dragon was already used canonically so I just kinda thought it up last minute) and is a mutation type. The user has physical features of a dragon. This includes wings, a tail, some scales along the stomach, neck, and hands, (which are shed like those of a lizard when the user outgrows them) and sharp claw-like nails and canine teeth. (1/2)
Drake (cont. its longer than i thought. more than 2 asks sorry): The user is also granted an enhanced bite force, (approx. 750 psi vs the human bite force of approx. 160 psi) enhanced sense of smell, and sight closer to that of a lizard. (larger range of visible colors and a fovea centralis, which is a depression in the retina that makes acute vision possible) Wings are not large enough for flight, instead used mostly for gliding and slowing falls. (2/??)
Drake (cont.): As with any muscles, wings must be exercised and taken care of properly. Major rips or tears in the webbing will drastically affect the user’s capability of gliding. Along with the physical traits, there are draconic instincts; hoarding of objects, (mainly shiny things or things of interest) predatory instincts, (commonly occurs with birds, rabbits, and other small mammals.) etc. Quirk user is abnormally warm, and becomes extremely hot with fever, which can make it (3/4)
Drake (cont.): extremely easy for the user to overheat. The user is also more sensitive to the cold due to the (theoretical) cold-bloodedness of a dragon. (4/4 i didn't expect it to get so long. whoops)
I don't think that could work, at least like this. Besides the fact that there hasn't been any Mythical Mutation Quirks in the series, making this an odd power at best, I'm confused why this is even a dragon in the first place. It doesn't have any real draconic powers. No flight? No fire breath? What's even the point? All there is to it is the drawbacks, which don't really work for a Quirk like this. If you want to make this a Quirk, just make it an Animal Mutation based around the draco, a real flying lizard that has most of the abilities you listed. All you'd need to do is remove a lot of the overt references to dragons, change some of the benefits and drawbacks around, and give it a new name.

Given this is a test run, I'm not dedicating too much thought to this, but this is a very loose/basic headcanon dump for Carmilla. I'll go deeper with it if she sticks around, and it is 100% subject to change.
Carmilla belonged to a notorious and respected crime family that dealt in weapons dealing. It's why she is so keen-minded in the trade - it's all she had known her entire life, something she was taught alongside her education once her father thought she was old enough. Her mother advised against it, but Carmilla was the only daughter of the couple with no son to learn tradition and inherit the family name. Carmilla did not mind.
Carmilla's mother loved ballet, and this adoration was passed into her daughter. From a very young age, Carmilla has been taught the art and was a magnificent dancer as a result. This contented her mother and helped put her a little more at ease with her aspiring title as the next family Head in the business; she had a harmless hobby to adore when not shrouded in danger and taught skills that spilled blood & shattered bone.
Carmilla's hands are not clean. She has put many to death mercilessly without blinking. She is in Hell for a reason - this is a dangerous woman who can kill in a flash without hesitation and spends a majority of her time conceiving ways to kill another demon permanently. She gained such cold-bloodedness from her father who only nurtured this part of her.
Clara and Odette are born from different fathers. Odette is the eldest by four years. This is something that earned a lot of ire from Carmilla's family, even though Odette was born from what Carmilla was deeply convinced was a loving union until the father abandoned her after being told of her pregnancy. He was her first and, while she was alive, her only love.
+ This abandonment wounded Carmilla deeply. She loved this man since she was very young, and it's the most intense heartache she came to know at the time before her demise. As such, her approach to love is standoffish. The second man who she bore Clara with was a more loving and doting personality, but it was a marriage of convenience and power for the family, one that felt like it was written in stone due to both families long-standing histories with one another. He was kind enough and she did harbor affection for him, but it was never romantic.
Carmilla and her daughters perished in the same night. They were gunned down by enemies of the family. Her daughters were the first to go, and Carmilla, though riddled with bullets, stood her ground and took down an impressive number of men before she was paralyzed by bullets shattering her spine. She managed to escape their sight and drag herself to her daughters and hold them in her arms before she succumbed to her injuries. Her husband survived the massacre - he was not even present when it unfolded.
I like to apply punishments given by Hell's natural energy to Sinners. Carmilla is haunted by hell-induced paranoia; ghost messages will appear when her psyche is vulnerable, etched into the walls, floors, furniture, and mirrors in burning, smoking letters. She will be hounded with migraines and old pains from her death, specifically related to her spine. Her head will get hot, and she is restless from nightmares concerning the events that have her so low to begin with.
+ Unrelated to the events that have tapered her low are messages that pertain to her human life. "Harlot" , "Loose Woman", and "Whore" are some of the reoccurring ones, as they were flung at her from family. Hell's environment, driven by Heaven's tampering, does its best to break down Sinners - it is trying to break down Carmilla, induce her with paranoia, a punishment it feels would be quite satisfying to birth in such a soul. However, she is an enduring woman and has taken the punishment like a champ for decades. Yes, the physical ailments and the nightmares wear her down, exhaust her, and yes she may be in a low state at the time and emotionally compromised leading to fretting, stressing, and anxiety, and excessive nerve-wrecked states, and she may have her moments of slipping, but she does not break. Paranoia dances on the edge, but it never crosses the line. She comes right back every time, and these silly messages don't mean a thing.
There are times where there is a twinge of a hurt cord in her chest, but that is easily solved when she takes the power washers she has installed in the hallways to the messages and drowns them out. "That is a beautiful piece of furniture and you are ruining it. Get off."
Her daughters are vaguely aware of these messages. Try as Carmilla might, she could not keep them entirely in the dark from witnessing them. They have not seen them all, but they know they are a strange re-occurrence that keeps rearing its ugly head at seemingly unexpected times.
Despite her heartbreak from her first love, Carmilla does remain to have a very quiet romantic side. It's not something that is part of her personality at all, it's a quiet facet of herself. There is a very small selection of romance novels amongst her personal bookshelf. These novels ease the old ache in her chest - feel goods.
She is bisexual.
Carmilla got the ball rolling fast for Carmine Industries. She hit the ground stumbling, bewildered, alarmed, but running in Hell. Her daughters were within reach when she arrived, and she collected them swiftly and set to eking out a protective living in Hell fast. She wasted no time - inspiration was there from the First Extermination mixed with the knowledge of just what an Overlord is. Woman was, and is, a force to be reckoned with.
Naturally, many wanted to get in the game for Holy Arms dealing. It was profitable and it was an ultimate form of self-protection. All it would cost them is a contract with Carmilla - their very soul on the dotted line. Many signed up, and as far as it goes for those who own souls, Carmilla was not a bad Sinner to belong to. Crossing her, however, is a death sentence. Those who have done so have perished quite painfully. She has very specific punishments in place for traitors, inspired by her father's teachings and made more cruel by her own tweaks and access to angelic weaponry.
It is not only the employed who are under Carmilla's contracts - it's information brokers, those she has spared, and those who quite literally owe her their life.
Her attachment to Zestial goes deep. They are a long withstanding companionship that dates way back - almost since the first days of her arrival in Hell. He has always been good company to her, and being new to the Pit, that meant something.

Splatoon Biology Musings Part 21: Metabolism and Thermoregulation
I think we can all agree that Inklings are, at least to a degree, warm-blooded. But what does that mean? Let's have a look:
There are two separate physiological ideas that go into the concept of warm-bloodedness. The first is endothermy, the ability to maintain your own body temperature by producing your own body heat. Mammals and birds are well-known for this. This is in contrast to ectothermy, where body temperature is largely determined by the surrounding environment. The second is homeothermy: the ability to maintain a stable body temperature, physiologically or behaviorally. This is in contrast to poikilothermy, where the body temperature and metabolism can vary. As is always the case in nature, things don't always neatly line up. Desert lizards are ectothermic and homeothermic; they don't produce their own body heat, but will engage in behaviors to keep body temperatures from going too high. Some mammals become poikilotherms when they hibernate (and the naked mole rat is a full-on poikilotherm, because of course it is). Some animals are somewhere in between endothermy and ectothermy, for example several open-ocean fish like tuna and great white sharks.
Modern mollusks are all ectothermic and poikilothermic - and that's okay! But the level of activity we see among Inklings is more like that present in modern endotherms like birds and mammals. Inksports are high-energy, and doing so regularly would require a high metabolism. Splatoon 3 provides some more evidence: Alterna seems to have both snow and harsh desert, with no apparent change in New Agent 3's activity levels across it. This suggests that they're maintaining a stable high metabolism regardless of environment - that's a pretty good proxy for endothermy. Regardless of season, time of day, or apparent temperature, Cephalings seem to have consistent metabolisms. That's suggestive of homeothermy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Be it cold and snowy or hot and arid, they are not deterred
In fact, the fact that an Inkling can wear whatever it wants in whatever weather and remain perfectly fine suggests that it's able to maintain an optimal internal body temperature no matter what. An Octoling in a T-shirt and shorts in a mildly snowy Inkopolis winter will probably have a similar body temperature as an Inkling in a down jacket in the Splatsville desert. and both will be just as active. The issue for the latter is overheating. There are a few references to sweating, but other than that we don't know of any obvious ways to cool down. So if I may veer into pure speculation, perhaps the rate at which internal body heat is produced can be modulated a little bit in response to environment, clothing, and activity level - it remains high enough to prevent hypothermia, but might be able to slow down a touch to prevent hyperthermia. Again, this is speculative; Cephaling thermoregulation deserves further study.
(Warm-bloodedness apparently also protects against fungal infections, according to some researchers studying it in mammals. Most fungi don't like body temperatures higher than the surrounding environment. Mollusks certainly are vulnerable to fungal infections, so that might have been a useful adaptation for land-living Cephalings)
The thing with warm-bloodedness is that you need to produce that heat somehow. You need energy, and therefore you need more food. This lines up with what we see ingame: if the Crust Bucket is any indication, Inklings and Octolings eat a lot of very calorie-rich food. And that energy appears to be burned very quickly through Inksports.

What are your thoughts on people considering their physical quirks/traits to be caused by their non humanity? With medical conditions ruled out of course. I consider my sensitivity to heat/"hot-bloodedness" to be part of my draconity.
My honest thoughts are that personally I think that's not possible, but as long as you're not, like... as long as you've taken "hey, is this a symptom of a physical condition" into account and it's not something inherently potentially dangerous, like believing you can heal supernaturally faster or something, then it's not really any of my business.
I admit I'm personally kind of wary of people making claims like that, but that's because in my experience it's very easy to slide from that to believing you have straight-up supernatural powers or other extraordinary claims (in the sense of "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence"), which has a whole suite of problems and potential dangers attached to it. But I'm kind of skittish of that whole thing to begin with, so take that with a grain of salt I guess. It's just something I think you should be aware of and keep yourself from going down that rabbithole; that belief itself isn't necessarily dangerous or a problem or anything imo.

Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01 - Disc 8
Another mysterious appearance by a main character looking dude on the inner flap of this volume. He kinda looks like that Ryo guy from the Adventure 02 Ken flashbacks. Guess I'll find out...
Side note: apparently Arkadimon won 3rd place in the Japanese popularity poll? How!? He's literally the most boring digimon ever!
Ch. 46
-How are we on the final battle already if there's a whole other volume after this one? Either this isn't the final battle and they'll pull some "secret final boss" nonsense (it is the Digimon way) OR vol. 9 will just be like epilogue stuff. I'd prefer the latter
-In the scanlation I'm reading Taichi says "attacks won't work on Arkadimon, let's try direct attacks!" I kinda got what they were going for, but it's a bad translation, so I looked at the original Japanese. They use 必殺技 (hissatsuwaza) and 直接 (chokusetsu). So, special attacks don't work, but direct attacks do. Kinda like when you can't use magic on some enemies in games.
Ch. 47
-You see, ripping up Zero's wings and stabbing him through the chest has kind of lost all impact at this point. Not only is this a kid's manga so I know he'll be okay, but also we've already seen him recover from those specific injuries before.
-Gabo and Rei are cute together, I could see them as protagonist/partner in an alternate version of this story.
Ch. 48
-Wow, they're really going hard with this "rock bottom" moment. I know things will turn out okay, but if I was a dumb 8 year old who's never read anything like this before, I might be kinda shook
-Neo continues to be a flat character. You would think adding his sister to the story as a good guy would cause him to have some kind of inner conflict, but he's just evil for the sake of evil and his sister being around has had zero impact. Boooo
Ch. 49
-Not much happened in this chapter, they just explained how the Dot Matrix attack works and prepared to fight Neo's army. Zero is in the ICU and Taichi's basically catatonic. I feel like the level of despair being conveyed by Taichi is a little more than we ever saw in the anime. Manga always tends to be an edgier medium.
Ch. 50
-This whole time I've been calling him "Leomon," but he was actually Panyamon (the white reskin). Also, Dominimon is new...not as badass looking as Seraphimon
-The "all digimon give Zero strength" scene was a good opportunity to bring back some one-off background characters. Cute to see that some of them have digivolved too.
Ch. 51
-Okay, I'm not crazy for thinking it was Leomon because they literally call him "Leo" lol
-Kinda don't like how Zero and Taichi are the "chosen ones" and no one else can even scratch Arkadimon. It would be more interesting if they worked as real team where everyone balances each other out. I guess why they don't do solo MCs in the anime...
Omake - Hot Blooded!
-So I was right, we get a crossover with Ryo due to a Wonderswan promotion. It's nice to see a different MC design for once! He kind of reminds me of Lloyd Irving
Tumblr media
-This was shorter and had a sillier tone than the other crossovers. It was kind of stupid that they defeated Demon's henchman via "hot bloodedness," but it was funny how equally matched Taichi and Ryo were in personality.
-I wish we could have seen more of -checks wiki- Monodramon. I really like his design. Very Spyro the Dragon.
I can't believe there's only one more volume left! I feel like I zoomed through this. As far as I can tell, Digimon really isn't known for its manga, so it's been interesting to see some of the neglected bits of the franchise. It's definitely a kids and super fans only kinda situation because neither the plot or characters are that deep or unique. I guess that makes a nice brain-off read though.

Ninninger reactions to
Fuuka: While Takaharu is out training the other 2... What do you guys think of the 4?
Tsumuji: Daughter... I love my grandkids! They're so precious.
Fuuka: Dad... I know that already. I'm just glad the other half of this siblings group is calm, more reserve, and more into study.
Tsumuji: The other 2... more like Takaharu 1 and 2. Almost wild yet a bit tamed. At least, the eldest granddaughter and youngest grandson are more on the intellectual side.
Well... thank goodness at least two of them didn't take over Takaharu. If not, I don't think any home would be able to handle the hot-bloodedness... nor can any soundproofing contain the irritable catchphrases...

If Silver ever got his own Heroes style team(i.e a fast person and a strong person since Silver is a fly type) of new characters from the future then what personalities could they have to best work with his?
That's an interesting question! Let's see here...
I think what already would play a huge role there is whether or not Silver is the leader of the team. I think he is certainly able to lead; for example, in Rivals 2 it is Espio who tends to follow Silver's directions. But in '06, we can see that Blaze is the rational one to Silver's hot-bloodedness and that he tends to go to her for questions and advice. So I think at least one member would have to be a calmer and more withdrawn person like Blaze and Espio, to balance out Silver's rasher actions and provide a critical view on his plans and ideas. And for a third member... maybe it would be nice if that person is either more childish than the two of them, or even more hotblooded than Silver is? It would show why Silver is the leader between the three of them: he can jump into things without thinking and got a temper on him, but he can also come up with the plans and initiate taking action where the other two might go amiss due to either lacking or having too much passion. In that way, he's got a calmer person for feedback, and a more eager person to bolster him into taking action at his side. But I must readily admit that I don't know too much about how personalities can mesh together, so I'm curious what other people think about it!
