In the Magus au, how much of Gerry's body is tattooed? About half of his neck, seemingly most of his chest, and I believe at least his upper arms seem to be, but the rest of him is covered. Are his legs tattooed? His forearms? His back? How much ink has this boy done in an age where tattoo guns don't exist I am fascinated by his implied pain tolerance

He has a high pain tolerance, but I also think they used magic for his tattoos- almost all of his upper body was covered but... things happened

Zane had been a tremendous fucking coward, he knew that, he didn't need anyone else to tell him. It had kept him up at night, finally getting a chance to show Mavis how he felt and then... bailing after what was probably the best kiss of his life. Zane knew it wasn't to do with Mertle--those feelings, those memories had burned into cinders a long time ago and yet something kept him from giving Mavis everything he so desperately wanted to give. In his mind he contemplated what to do for days, rehearsed his speech in the mirror until it was second nature and bought the biggest bouquet of flowers he could carry, marching towards the woman he knew he loved. -- He just needed the balls to tell her that.

"I fucked up-- and you probably hate me, but I just need to you know why." he managed to croak out, his throat closing up at the sight of her beauty. "I have liked you for so long and I was so scared you would find out and it would ruin our friendship.. and then we kissed-- and it changed my world. Mavis I couldn't believe you kissed me!" he continued, a little laugh of surprise at the memory escaping him. "And I got scared because... I ruin everything. I mess up simple coffee orders and laundry and-- my last relationship.. not that you'd want to be in a relationship with me.. but if you did... Mavis I would try so hard to everything right this time." he dared step a little closer sucking in a deep breath and he willed himself to say it. "I uh.. I think I'm-- no, I know that I am in love with you..-- is that okay?"

someone commented on my current gwenpool fic (the many origins of one ghostface no-pants killer; where i show 13 different plausible ways gwen ended up in the comic universe as a prologue to my Bullseye Cut AU) and the gist of it is that Gwen and the way this affects the way she works is basically like a metaphysical character who has some control over her own life and decisions, but is ultimately playing to the whims of the writers.

Which makes a very give-and-take relationship between in-universe Gwen and the writers, who are basically having to work around her quirks and self-awareness to trick her into situations. (I still think that Kitty Pryde thing from her RR&G tie-in was clever, despite how odd those shows were.)

and that train of thought made me realize. @shokuto's version of an Ultimate Comics Gwenpool is one of the only Gwen Poole's which is explicitly not transported from the real world. She really is just making stuff up.

So. What I think happened. Is that this is a Gwen Poole that has been made up by the writers, based off the young woman who inexplicably ended up in the comics. This is a Gwen Poole that fits all the Gwen characteristics and does everything Poole does. Except she doesn't reach through the page and dump coffee on the editor if she feels like it. She's contained. (Or is she????)

Idk just spitballing here. Thoughts, shokuto?
