Bucky is a new servant who works in the kitchen who's sent to Steve's chambers with food, and he sits by Steve's bed and hand-feeds him as Steve is serviced. Steve never takes his eyes off Bucky. Each time Steve visits after that, they manage to see each other

My opinion abt Glee main cast
Rachel
I really couldn't stand her from the beginning: I understand that her character has her own "depth" and I love her friendship with Kurt but she’s a spoiled little girl who steps over her friends just to get to the top. Her voice is beautiful, undoubtedly, but it gets boring by the 10th song you hear.
Finn
I never realized how much I liked him until he died. Looking back you see how important he actually was to the club and to the series. He did some mischief and I still don't understand how he put up with Rachel, but he's adorable. His brotherhood with Kurt was beautiful. Interesting voice but nothing great, although some of his songs are iconic.
Mercedes
She's the queen. Probably one of the few characters I just love. She has been a good friend to everyone, and personally a good girlfriend to Sam. If you talk about her voice obv it's in top 5, it's just divine. She deserves all her popularity.
Artie
My favorite little guy- you don't understand how much I love him. He never gave up and found something he really wants to do and for that I'm so proud of him. His voice is super underrated.
Kurt
Seeing him grow up and go from "the bullied gay guy" to being a Broadway star ALSO because he's gay makes me super proud. I don't talk about his relationship with Blaine just bc I would never finish. He's a total fashion icon. His voice? I fell in love with it from his first audition and it's my second favorite.
Tina
Uhuh I don't know honestly. She has changed so much during the series that I'm not even sure who she's anymore. She's not a bad character, her voice is nice, but not iconic.
Quinn
As it should be, I hated her in the beginning. Sometimes she did crazy things while other times she was super nice and kind. In the end I liked her growth. Nice voice, but not so much above Tina's.
Brittany
I love her immensely. Although I'm still very confused about her sex and love life, I knew from the start she would end up with Santana eventually. I love those two lesbians. Hands down one of the best dancers in the series. I was hoping they would show more of her dancing.
Santana
What I like most about her is that she's consistent with herself. She's bitchy from start to finish, but at the same time she manages to maintain a kinder side. Let's face it: without her Rachel would not have survived NY. Hers is another unique voice; every one of her songs is top 50.
Mike
Despite being a main character I always forget about his existence help- Character growth is almost nonexistent(?) Neither good nor bad. Best dancer ever.
Puck
Love of my life. I've loved this idiot from the beginning bc I've always known he had a heart of gold. He deserves someone who really loves him (no hate for Quinn). I've never been able to get used to his voice, but I have to admit that some of his songs are wonderful.
Blaine
He is my protégé. If I hear even one negative thing about him I might kill someone. He has been traumatized as much as Kurt and that is why I love how he takes him under his own care even before really falling in love with him. He has a heart of gold and deserves the best. Obv his voice is my absolute favorite, did it need to be said? All his songs are iconic.
Sam
I really liked when in s4 started to being more important, he is a good character. I like how he's always in the clouds but still manages to be serious if he wants to be. His friendship with Blaine is too good, definitely a shame they didn't get engaged at least once. Nothing to say about his voice.
Will
Great professor undoubtedly, but sometimes I wanted to punch him so hard. His relationship with Emma is super sweet, but it got heavy at one point. I like how he took Finn under his wing. His voice? Thank you but no.
Sue
At first she irritated me so much, but I realized almost immediately that she was a good person. She only disliked Will, and I don't blame her. She did a lot as a character (like getting Klaine back together) and is the best rival the club could have.
Rory
Special mention for the most underrated voice in the series. And also for the most underrated character. He deserved so much more screen time. His cover of Home is one of my favorites.

Yeah,I understand your point about I Do although I wanted to ask about one thing-when I said I don’t like how he,by being all physical and flirty,was leading Blaine on and still friendzoned him afterwards-not to mention Blaine already got his hopes up. Blaine obviously still was in love with him and I don’t like how he basically had to pine after him just because of that one mistake with Eli. I mean,yeah,he made that mistake,but still loved Kurt deeply and made it pretty obvious,and I don’t like how everyone in universe treated it as a worse cheating than what the other characters had done (at one point Will even cheated on Emma with Shelby for God’s sake,yet they portrayed Emma as guilty for even bringing it up!) Blaine does this once because Kurt was basically ignoring him all the way in NY and he got really really scared? No,he is the worst cheater and he has to be the one who still puts more impact on their long distance contact? They totally swept under the rug the fact that Kurt wasn’t a Saint in this situation either and I am glad season 6 finału acknowledged it,and then Blaine got some time to forgive him on his own terms. I just think the cheating arc is actually extremely unfair to Blaine,sorry for rant,and makes Kurt look a bit cold.
So thinking about what you say about the cheating. It wasn’t very imaginative writing to split Klaine because of Blaine cheating. Yes, probably most other characters had in the course of the show as well. So why not Blaine too? Which is rubbish, because if we think realistically, he was much too smitten with Kurt to even look at another guy for sex at this point. However, from mid season 3 especially, the writers stripped him of the cocky, confident, supporting friend/boyfriend, and they chose to make him into a character who lacked self esteem and feared loneliness and being left alone, and reliant on Kurt to be truly happy. Until season 6 and therapy hopefully helped.
And in terms of the Klaine split in four, they had to do something major to justify a split. Klaine weren’t a lightweight couple like others on the show, who were constantly fighting and splitting, and cheating and just being generally annoying. What Klaine had was a deep love and understanding of each other - similar sensitivities and experiences, Blaine was incredibly supportive to Kurt over Karofsky and being bullied at McKinley. Kurt had constantly promised Blaine that long distance would not split them, and Blaine supported Kurt to go follow his dreams to be in Ny, and he’d be with him a year later. So it had to be a big issue to cause them to split - and the writer’s fallback was unfortunately cheating.
I guess people do consider it an awful thing for Blaine to do - I did when I first watched it. Yes Kurt was a lot to blame, by ignoring calls or choosing to gossip than really talk to Blaine, or get so involved in his own activities that he didn’t stop to consider how Blaine was feeling. And no, Kurt doesn’t often get called out for how he behaved. The trouble was Blaine’s mindset - he’s been left, Kurt had moved on, there’s something dark in Blaine’s own head and own experience that made him act in such an extreme way. Also at the time, he had no real friend at McKinley. Do you not think that if he’d confided his doubts in Sam and maybe spent more time with him, or Tina , then he wouldn’t have felt the need to rush off to Eli? And Sam most certainly would have encouraged Blaine to fly to NY before the cheating happened. He acted impulsively, as Blaine does tend to do.
I read something yesterday where someone questioned why they had to split them at all. And of course it’s all for drama and tv moments, perhaps it wasn’t exciting enough if they’d stayed together. But it could have been written differently - we could have had Blaine fly to NY and them rowing, a few more episodes of Kurt ignoring him, and a temporary split. Then their feelings for other guys make them question their relationship, and they agree to have a break. And maybe back together in I do or after GaBoF, but sooner then officially in 5/1. We didn’t need the cheating plot. It was unfair to Blaine’s character, I just don’t believe even in his darkest moment that he’d cheat on Kurt.
And I know I’m rambling, which I love to do - but thinking of it from Kurt’s pov. Blaine was the love of his life, the first and only guy he let in to his inner thoughts, the one who knew and understood about the bullying and assault, and all about being gay in a small unaccepting town. The first guy, he’d connected with physically, he even closed off from contact apart from with his dad and Mercedes. He’d adored Blaine from the day he met him, and suddenly Blaine had betrayed their physical intimacy with another guy. So I understand why Kurt is deeply hurt and it takes him a while to recover and trust again. So I can’t really be critical that Kurt needed that time, and held off Blaine until he was really certain he wanted to be back with him. In terms of I do, Kurt is still telling himself it’s just as friends, but really the next month (episodes 15 to 20 of season 4) begin to show that Kurt is starting to see himself with Blaine again.

But he will be starting outpatient therapy. His first appointment is next week, so just asking for continued prayers for his spiritual health, his physical health and his.Emotional health is an incredible life change for them as not only.His accident and now being paralyzed, but the loss of a job, the loss of their home that they can't return to. They used to live in the Bronx and now having to move to a whole new city to be close to family. So a lot of newness changes. My daughter has to find a new job.As well. So luckily she is a nurse. Not even luckily, thankfully, thank to the Lord that she is a nurse and she can get a job anywhere, so we're super thankful for that.So thank you guys. Okay, so here are my thoughts on Secrets of Dumbledore based on what we recently learned from the synopsis:
Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald's growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?
First of all: “Secrets of Dumbledore” is a quite boring name (I mean a few people even (almost) guessed it before) but I think it’s practical. It can refer (obviously) to Albus, but also to Credence/Aurelius, Aberforth, Ariana, … and whoever might be a secret Dumbledore. (Jacob? Picket?!? Everyone, probably.) Taking into account the author’s ominous “answers are given” she once said about FB3, I believe in the end we will know how exactly Credence, Dumbledore and Grindelwald are connected.
Also, I wonder how much the film really will be about Dumbledore? “Crimes of Grindelwald” wasn’t really about Grindelwald after all. I imagine it to be about Dumbledore and his family in the beginning, probably some flashbacks, then he gives Newt some kind of a mission. The main part of the film could be about Newt and his team trying to accomplish that mission, and in the end (maybe when Newt fights his duel with Grindelwald), Dumbledore realises that not everything turned out as he planned (or did it?) and decides that “the stakes are too high to remain on the sidelines”. The question is if he will be able to openly move against Grindelwald, that depends on the blood pact and maybe on whether Newt is able to accomplish his mission. Or maybe, Grindelwald fighting Newt already counts as moving against Dumbledore so he will break the blood pact first? But I rather think, both Dumbledore and Grindelwald are too smart to break the pact on accident – we don’t know of the consequences they would have to face if they violated the pact, but I don’t doubt they would be terrible.
What made me frown at first, but happy after I gave it some more thought, was the idea of Newt as a team leader. Because – I don’t really see him as a leader. He’s a private and quiet person. But (and this is the good part) he is also an absolute expert for magical beasts. So, if he is to lead a team, it is certainly because of something beast-related! And I love this possibility. It’s “fantastic beasts” after all, and in my opinion, the creatures are the most magical part of the films!
What are Newt and his team doing on their journey? I can see two main possibilities here: a) looking for a way to destroy the blood pact, b) looking for a way to properly separate an Obscurus from its host. A blood pact seems to be a very powerful kind of magical bond/object, but let’s not forget that Harry managed to destroy a Horkrux with a Basilisk’s fang – so maybe there are other beasts with strong curse-breaking abilities? As for the Obscurus, we know that Newt has tried before with a girl, but she died. We just don’t know if this was because he hadn’t perfectionated the spell yet, or if he just came too late to save her.
So, who is on the team? Jacob for sure, I don’t know another brave Muggle baker. I’m also sure Bunty will come along as it was said that she will be much more important in this film, and she also is a beast expert. Tina? Hopefully! Nagini and Yusuf Kama? Probably, because otherwise, what would be their purpose (sorry)? Theseus? Nah, he’s a ministry man, I suppose he will concentrate on politics. (And I can’t really see him being bossed around by his little brother. :D But it would be lots of fun. Maybe he will be on the Berlin part of the mission because I don’t imagine lots of creatures living there.) Then we have the ominous Eulalie Hicks who has to fit in somehow, but we don’t know enough about her at this point to know whether she will rather accompany Newt or maybe will be more of a kind of advisor for Dumbledore. And, of course, I wonder if we will see Flamel again? He’s an alchemist, so maybe he has some ideas about how to destroy a blood pact.
Regarding “old and new beasts”, we will certainly see Pickett and the Niffler (they are just too popular now and can’t be left out. Also, I’m rather sure Newt won’t go anywhere without Pickett. The Niffler has proven to be rather useful, especially now that he can track Tina’s footsteps, hehe. Okay, stealing the blood pact also was rather useful I admit). I wonder if we might also see Frank again, maybe connected to Eulalie. I really hope to see the Zouwu, I just loved her and maybe that’s (part of) the reason for a trip to China? As for new beasts… I have no idea and I doubt that my current copy of Mr Newt Scamander’s book will be a great help because some of the creatures weren’t featured in it before they appeared on screen. But I’m sure we will see a lot of the Phoenix (Fawkes?) because it/he is clearly connected to the Dumbledores. And what about the Kelpie? It still appears a little strange to me that Newt’s scene with it in CoG wasn’t cut for time as it has no connection to the plot - unless it has and we just have to find out.
It is also mentioned that Newt and his team will clash with Grindelwald’s followers. It’s obvious that this will involve Credence who is going to have a scene with Dumbledore (I think Jude Law said something like that, about having a scene with Ezra set in Berlin?). I also really hope we will see a lot of Queenie and learn more about her motivation because although we were shown her reasons to join Grindelwald in CoG, it didn’t really convince me. I especially hope for a scene with her and Tina, but… well, let’s just hope, okay? Another one of Grindelwald’s followers who I think has a very interesting role is Grimmson. He’s an undercover spy (so there’s a lot of potential for dramatic scenes where he turns out to be a traitor and turns against the ministry) and also it’s implied that he and Newt have some kind of a backstory (although that also wasn’t too clear in the film, but you could learn from the script that he hunts down magical creatures – and that’s most likely the reason why Newt and he hate each other, although it’s possible they had some more personal connection in the past… maybe fought together in the war or worked at the Ministry and were both disgusted by the other’s methods). I personally think he would be a great antagonist for Newt because their hatred for each other is so personal and natural, maybe Newts has a stronger dislike for him than for Grindelwald (much like Harry hated Snape more than Voldemort). But well, we know that in the end it will be Newt against Grindelwald…
…and that’s a point that worries me. Newt is astonishingly capable of getting himself out of dangerous situations with the help of his beasts, and he has already once defeated Grindelwald together with Tina, the Swooping Evil, and all of MACUSA’s Aurors. If this epic battle scene in the end is a 1:1 Newt against Grindelwald I see… well I don’t really see a way Newt could possibly win this fight. He’s clearly a really capable wizard but duelling is not his main interest. It might be enough to trick traffickers and escape, but we have already seen him in the NY underground fighting Grindelwald and I don’t know how it would have ended for him if Credence and Tina hadn’t interrupted the scene. Let’s see how he get’s out of the situation this time (and nope, please don’t let anybody sacrifice him- or herself for Newt, I want them all to be happy and alive… but if somebody is going to die for Newt I assume it’s either Bunty or Theseus. But, as I just said, this is definitely not going to happen because I love them all very much, so there’s no need to discuss that). I just hope the film doesn’t end with a cliff-hanger like Newt being defeated and taken hostage… because I cannot possibly wait at least another two years to learn how they solve this. Also, I have no idea if – from a marketing point of view – that would be a very good or a very bad idea. I think everyone just wants to see Newt happily together with Tina at the end of the 3rdfilm, but… who knows.
Anyway, these are my thoughts on Secrets of Dumbledore up to this point. I am super excited just thinking about the fact that we will get photos and a trailer soon!

This is a series of asks bc, while I do LIKE all the charas of Fantastic Beasts individually, much of the romantic pairings dont sit well with me. By that mean the messy love polygon w Newt & I think I finally figured out why & I'd like another's opinion on it. For starters, Newt's attraction with Tina is too fast for me considering he was friends w Leta, got expelled out of Hogwarts for Leta, carried Leta's photo in his case, & basically loved her for YEARS. But this is all undone by a [1]
jaunt in NY having met a woman, who he admittedly went on a huge adventure w, over the course of maybe a few weeks. He's so taken w her she replaces Leta's photo w her own &, after refusing to go to Paris for Dumbledore, leaves immediately once he finds out she's there. I just find this unbelievable. I can rationalize it from Newt's perspective where Tina is a fresh breeze sweeping into his life on (percieved) unrequited pining, but this is my conjecture based on my understanding of Newt. [2]
The audience shouldnt be left to rationalize endgame couple of the mc on their own. & the whole thing w Leta is so messily handled I dont think they can save it even if they bring her back in FB3. How she feels for Newt vs Theseus & unresolved lingering affection, etc. She & Newt were SO important to each other & we SEE that & they dont HAVE to get together, but they need proper resolution bc they have actual history between them. God Leta in general deserved so much better. [3]
But my main gripe is that this love polygon serves no purpose to what I believe is the main selling point of FB: the world. HP having love stories makes sense bc we're following the story of a boy as he goes through adolescence & his journey through that via school is part of that, which is why the romance feels fitting. It's a very personal story. FB on the otherhand is the best peak we have at the wider wizarding world beyond school. HP introduces the world of magic, but FB rlly expands it [4]
To that end Jakob & Queenie's relationship is the only one I find myself liking, bc it's deeply tied to the world setting, the series' biggest selling point (in my opinion, should have said this earlier). It underscores the attitudes of the period & the conflict they face feels suitably substantial & not like filler. There's a moral question between them of are they worth it? And how far should they go to be together?
Imma be real hear & say FB2 was rlly Queenie's movie & they should have been ballsy & just make Queenie the mc for FB2, bc her story was actually considerably more important to the overall development of the story than Newt's, which mostly came off as a rushed & a tad clichè soap drama. & making it about Queenie I think builds more room for good conflict & independent narrative for Tina that would serve her chara better. If I bad to be REAL ballsy, I'd say my big issue w/ the relationships in the FB series & how it enhances or impedes the main story & what I believe to be it's biggest attracter (the setting) could have been solved if they made Newt's romantic interest a muggle. It attaches a deeper meaning & relevance to them & the story so it felt more deeply that they truly moved WITH the narrative rather than beside it but I guess Im just picky. Yeah, pretty much all of this is right.
Regarding the Tina thing, it was definitely rushed, especially since there was literally nothing romantic between them in the whole first movie, except maybe the end part where they're stumbling over their words. Despite knowing how movies work and knowing that they were the male and female lead, I still found that completely out of left field, because they don't really share any interests and I didn't feel like they felt anything in particular for each other before that. She really wants to be an auror and feels really intensely about it; he just wants to travel the world and write about magical creatures and take care of them. I don't see a lot of compatibility there, and the movie didn't really do anything to reconcile that gap.
Jacob and Queenie made sense, because they actually sowed some seeds for it. It's not even about the fact that they both like to cook; they showed an interest in each other throughout. They noticeably like each other. Newt and Tina never really had that, to me, so it was bizarre for her to become his primary motivation in the second movie.
Queenie's trajectory in movie 2 overall bothers me, so while I agree it would have been better if they'd centered it more around her, I definitely think they needed to drastically rewrite pretty much everything she did. Enchanting Jacob at the beginning never sat well with me; I usually only have to say this in the Descendants fandom, but if one half of the ship is magical and the other half isn't, we can't have the magical one enchanting the non-magical one for romantic reasons without addressing what a violation of trust that is. Like, Jacob would be justified for never trusting her again, over that. Also, the fact that she apparently holds it against people if they think bad things about her is not something I would expect from someone who has been a Legilimens as long as she has, and not a detail I like, at all. Especially since it was used to give her justification to be mad at Jacob after she enchanted him in the first place. I find it sad, because Queenie was definitely my favorite character in the first movie. (Also, joining Grindelwald was a nonsensical thing to do. I can only assume she's there to spy on him or something, because it makes literally no sense.)
As for Leta, I really don't like how that was approached. First of all, I don't like how their mention of her in the first movie was "She was a taker; you need a giver," because once we actually met the character, that only made me resent Queenie for representing her that way. Leta deserved better in pretty much every way, and they definitely shouldn't have killed her off like that. I find the whole situation really iffy from a racial standpoint. The first black character to be written three-dimensionally in all of HP lore, and they make sure to preemptively tell the audience that she's a "taker", kill her in the same movie we meet her, and manage to trivialize her death by turning it into a little "Who was she saying 'I love you' to?" mystery. I like her relationship with Newt and Theseus, and I'd definitely want to see more of it.
Yes, it definitely would have been better, thematically, if they'd made the love interest a Muggle. (I'd honestly say they should've paired Newt with Jacob, but I know they're unwilling to do that. That would be kind of cool, though, to see the movie shaping up with two male characters and two female characters and have the men end up with each other and the women just live their lives as humans.)
With the story they ended up telling, though, I don't think that is needed; since Queenie is already dealing with the wizard/Muggle storyline, Newt could have a different conflict. Maybe his love interest should be a werewolf or something, to tie in the wizarding world's unresolved dislike for "half-breeds". And if he were in a relationship with someone already regarded as a creature, the wider wizarding world might take a different view to his studies and look down on him a lot more. Idk, a thought.
And then, with Leta/Theseus and Grindelwald/Dumbledore (if they were willing to actually deal with that), they'd pretty much hit every controversial beat they've got: wizard/Muggle, wizard/"half-breed", interracial, homosexual. Credence and Nagini are both creatures, kind of, but I still like them together, so their relationship doesn't have to tie into any theme; it just has to be developed way more.
On the whole, Crimes of Grindelwald felt like they skipped a movie. It feels like they needed a middle installment to make these relationships happen, instead of jumping from "Do Newt and Tina maybe have feelings for each other?" to "Newt loves Tina and Tina is possessive enough of Newt to be outwardly upset with him when she thinks he's engaged to someone else," and creating a whole relationship between Credence and Nagini that we see none of.
The fact that Queenie and Jacob were done well in the first movie gives me a fair amount of goodwill for them, but that goodwill only offers enough cushioning from the botching that movie 2 did that I'm near-indifferent to the ship, now, instead of actively opposed. I'd like to see things improved, but as it currently stands, I'd be just as happy seeing them end up not together as together. The fact that Leta's relationships with Newt and Theseus were more interesting than any of the aforementioned makes it that much more ridiculous that they killed her. What ship am I supposed to care about how? If I can't go into the next movie delusionally hoping Newt and Leta will get some moments, or enjoying the Theseus and Leta content, then I'll just be sitting there waiting for Credence and Nagini to share a screen, and who knows when that'll happen?

fave glee song : ooh a tough one , but i think Just The Way You Are ( s5 version ) might be my fave, it's just so comforting and cheesy enough for my taste and just everyone's vibing and being playful and everyone has small duets in between and there's cute kurtana dancing and klaine looking at each other with hearteyes . just a perfect ny family dynamic .
fave klaine duet : absolutely It's Too Late . if you know me , you know i'm a sucker for angst and one of the most angstiest klaine duet apart from cwm is It’s Too Late. and the amazing harmonies especially in the studio version has me fallen in love with this duet .
fave Blaine solo : Don’t Stop Me Now , it used to be All of Me which i’d listened to almost 10 times daily , but since making the blaine vid , it has shifted to this amazing Queen cover . like the pure energetic perormance from him . also the audience during this performance is my favourite ever. so many dorky marley moments , wildebrams being cute and the collective goofy energy is truly mesmerizing . And have you heard Blaine’s vocals during it . truly king behaviour
Fave Kurt solo : As If We Never Said Goodbye. the vocals are immaculate , he’s magical during this whole performance , everyone is so happy ( especially that small moment that focuses on santana’s vibrant smile ) . he’s just so powerful and excited . and the clothing during this perf is amazing , the keys used as neck wear , KURT IN VESTS!!! , the white boots , he’s a true beauty and the one song i’m glad they used the full 5 min version on the show .
fave duet partner for kurt : Rachel , their wicked duets are to die for and Happy Days mashup is the absolute biggest comfort song for me .
fave duet partner for blaine : sam , blaine’s his absolute dorkiest self during his duets with sam , and they sound amazing together , at times i can’t even differentiate their voices from each other , but my fave non klaine blaine duet would be boys/boyfriend mashup with Artie . both of their voices are so hot here and both of them are just their absolute charming selves .
fave group number for kurt : Home , it’s only a small part but the low notes are chefs kiss . this whole song is just a ball of comfort coupled with the heartbreak of that small scene . And it’s the only gcv my brother knew the og song to , so it’s kind of our connecting song . if given a second choice , it would be DSB ( s5 version ) , again the low notes .
fave group number for blaine : hey jude , like darren , you’re killing me with your damn talent . jesus christ , slow down buddy . he’s on fire with those high notes . the song was such a slow start with being a normal cover and the high notes starts and i’m truly deceased . the best thing about the whole drag of an ep . and just the happy face of Tina being supported and accompanied by her friends . brings me back to the s2 prom where kurt was alone and blaine was the only one to support him

I appreciate you taking the time to reply and no disrespect was taken. I always enjoy seeing what a non Blaine Stan thinks, if they can back up their arguments succinctly with valid arguments . Even if we isn’t agree. Yours is a good analysis, different from the usual accusations that he’s toxic, abusive, whiny clingy, and the same scenes over analysed and misconstrued. I’d be very interested in hearing your views on Kurt, perhaps in Pm , as we don’t want to be ripped apart by extreme stans. Who are your favoured characters on Glee?
Hi! And I’m glad to hear! Concision isn’t my strong suit if you couldn’t tell lol so the response is below the cut
I’ve seen some of those arguements and while I get where they’re kind of coming from, I wouldn’t say there’s an inherent toxicity to his character. Like he’s not the best but he tries and he’s one of the few that seems to genuinely recognize his mistakes, own up to them, and apologize.
As for Kurt, it’s a mix of the biphobic comment from s2 and how it never feels like his mistakes or flaws are perceived that way? By himself particularly. I’ve heard that the whole biphobic thing was a reflection of the writers but by putting it in the show it becomes part of his character and then it’s a whole debate of “is this poor/lazy writing or intrinsic to him?” and either way you see it changes how to view the scene and while I’m all for the benefit of the doubt on it, it’s never something readdressed and I just feel... For me I feel like it’s part of his character and while he could’ve changed his opinions later in the series, I don’t really know. Idk it’s a very personal thing more so then “I hate him”
Then for his mistakes the Chandler situation comes to mind and while Blaine may have jumped the gun with calling it cheating and the song (though I appreciate the drama of that whole scene and concept), it doesn’t seem like he ever felt bad about it until Blaine admitted to feeling afraid of being alone once Kurt moves to NY. Like his attitude prior to that confession when they meet with Mrs. P frustrates me because even if it wasn’t cheating or intended to hurt Blaine—it did! and Kurt doesn’t feel remorseful at all (song choice was just... really bad and the episode painting Blaine as the one who should feel the most guilty? particular with the shot of Blaine at the end of the performance?) I just feel like he’s rarely shown to feel guilty for his mistakes and the show rarely has him face consequences for them.
And it sometimes feels like he’s sometimes waiting for things to happen because the universe owes him for the shit he’s gone through. Not to say that he hasn’t gone through some terrible things, because the universe really didn’t treat him kindly on a lot of things. Mostly I just don’t vibe with his character. Like you ever meet someone and you can’t completely figure out what but you’re like “I just do not care for you”? It’s like that. That being said, I understand the value of his character and his arcs in the show—particularly in earlier seasons—and appreciate his character for that and such and I don’t mean for any of this to be hateful because he seems like a good person and I don’t passionately dislike him or anything. He, like most characters on the show, deserved a lot better and had a lot of potential the show kind of didn’t see through.
And I apologize but that’s as much as I can really say on my opinions for him and I hope none of that was too mean? comes across unfounded? For him particularly it’s just a lot of personal things that affect my perception of is character and whether that disagrees with people 🤷🏻♀️ but yeah. I don’t like discussing it much as to not step on any toes.
But hmmmm... Would you be surprised to hear Blaine is my favorite character? I guess for me “liking a character” and having a “favorite character” are separate ideas. Sort of. My favorite characters in any media tend to be the ones I can connect to and feel a lot of feelings about. Blaine, thus, is exactly that plus his singing is great and I think Darren does a great job at playing Blaine. And I appreciate his particular level of chaos:
“GAP attack! First day at this new school I’m going to sing in the courtyard! Let’s have a sing off in a parking garage! My bf moved states so I’m going to join 23 clubs and run around in a superhero costume for a superhero I made up but is definitely a play on a certain original sidekick’s second alias! How else to show this dude I love him than to get back together for a day then propose with a big song by all the glee clubs ever at the exact spot we met!” + him hopping on furniture and pianos (oh gosh the stress it gives me everytime they stand/sit on the piano—)
and him being ready to fight people bigger than him (Sam, Karofsky) I know is rooted in his past with bullying but outside of that context it’s a little funny. because I’m sure he can throw a punch but he also looks very small and his willingness to throw a punch when all the McKinley boys start their fights by pushing each other for a while is a little hilarious. Blaine really captures that more absurd side of the show. Y’know the whole high school musical “people don’t actually break out into song like this” except Blaine definitely does.
Other characters I might say are favorites: Marley, Sam, Tina, Santana, Brittany, Elliot, Burt. Do The Warblers as a whole count? And overall my heart just breaks a tiny bit for the potential all the characters had to grow and change over the show but kind of just... didn’t? And Finn as a teacher was good for him and I do wish we had gotten to see that develop more.
Moral of the story is that when it comes to Glee I think way too much about everything and my opinions on it because WOW there are a lot of very strong opinions on it and as a show with a great amount of diversity not necessarily being great writing/representation... There’s just a lot to juggle. Sometimes I’m just like “I like how your voice sounds in this song! You’re in my top 10!” or “If the show developed why you’re doing what you’re doing waaaay more then you’d be a really intriguing character that I feel a lot of emotions about!” Idk it’s like most characters I’ve empathized with at one point or another then also been like “wtf? who does that?” so yeah. Glee overall just has a weird place in my heart. It’s terribly good and also really messed up and I think there are songs they shouldn’t have done and I’m so glad the show isn’t around to do but also some of their covers and performance are brilliant and terrific (cough syrup, smooth criminal, and ND nationals performance in s3 among them).

i’ve officially decided on santina for my glee rewrite!! i think i’ll start it off at original song (bc they totally fucked when they wrote trouty mouth together) and see how it develops. i hope you’re doing better, and if you want something more to distract you, can i have some santina hot takes from you?? 💗💗
Omg I don’t think I know how to do hot takes but I will happily ramble aimlessly about them for a bit! But also aljfslkjfskl I love the idea of Santana fucking Tina at first being like “this’ll totally make Britt jealous” but then remembering she was supposed to make her jealous in a heterosexual way bc oops that wasn’t it. But also eventually she forgets about Brittany and just enjoys being with Tina bc how could you not. Also if I had to ship Brittany with someone then it would be Mike so like ?? how perfect is that. Santana and Tina’s partners just fuck off and get together
Honestly just have it in Special Education where Tina thought Mike and Brittany were hooking up and just make them hook up. Like who cares. And then since Artie is sad about losing Brittany, Tina tries to get back with him while Santana is messing around with Sam. And both girls know it’s not working but Tina has an easier time breaking it off with Artie, meanwhile Santana is still trying to hide her sexuality so even when she hooks up with Tina over the song, she still performs it and Tina just goes along with it bc she’s not trying to force Santana out or anything.
Ooh and then in NoN you know Santana would tear everyone a new one cause the hecklers made her girl cry (and Mr. Shoe said it was a good lesson like ?? someone should’ve torn him up for that). And then I would like some form of au where Santana actually feels remorse for her actions and just genuinely apologizes to Kurt for her hand in his bullying and promises to make things easier for him to come back, rather than that fake dating Karofsky nonsense. And also she doesn’t say those horrible racist things in Born This Way bc that would not fly in my Santina au. Also Tina wouldn’t make a Lesbian shirt and tell Santana “if you loved yourself as much as I loved you then you’d put on the shirt and dance with me” before she was ready to come out bc yikes. Also since Santana is the one like “you should be allowed to change things you don’t like” then she wouldn’t have called Tina a self hating Asian for wearing blue contacts so that’s cool
Then I could still see Brittany doing some headass shit about Santana “playing for both teams” in Rumors and so Santana freaks out again and pulls away from Tina but Tina just promises that they can do things on her terms and she’s still here for her, even if Santana isn’t ready to come out. Aaand man idk there’s so much relationship bullshit drama at the end of s2 but things would end open ended but on good terms between Santana and Tina and maybe they share a kiss and have a sweet little moment just the two of them
And then literally all of s3 would be different but Santana isn’t outed by Finn’s dumb ass and instead comes out on her own terms and yeah. Tina would support her and also not release a sex tape of theirs so that’s cool! And yes half of this is me using it as an excuse to shred apart Br*ttana, not sorry about it :P
So yeah maybe Tina and Santana do a lil sneaky conspiring talking about how they’re tired of being in the background and they deserve a year to shine and be in the spotlight. And of course they get Mercedes on board. And they don’t leave the club and start a new club and end the club and come back to the original club bc that’s dumb as hell. They just sort of take over ND so it’s not just the Rachel Show all year long. Also Tina would probably encourage Santana right away to follow her dreams and go to NY so we wouldn’t have to waste time in Louisville. And then s4 would be a whole school year and Tina would join them in NY in s5 and everything would be great

What did you think of the first ep of the l word?
Phat spoilers coming so if you haven’t watched episode 1 of the L word: generation Q then proceed with caution
Okay so I guess I’ll just go through each character and give my feelings about them. I’ll start with my favorite new comers
Okay so I am so fascinated by Angelica and her story. I know she’s kind of an original character but I’ll still consider her a new comer because now we’re seeing her as a teenager coming into her own and not as a toddler. It’s so wild watching the original show and seeing how hard Bette and Tina had to work to have this child and for Bette to be recognized as her other parent. And now we get to see this moody teenager who yells at her Mama B and gets up to hooligan shit like if only Bette & Tina from 2004 could see this
My second favorite new comer, Sophie, didn’t have very many scenes but from just the short time she was on my screen, I fell in love with her. She’s very funny and she’s got these little quips that have me laughing like a maniac. When her girlfriend finally proposes to her and she lowkey ruins this romantic moment that she’s been waiting on forever I was dying. I can still hear her voice saying, “don’t play with me.” 😂😂
Sophie’s girlfriend, Dani, is my third favorite. She works as a communications director at her fathers business which I guess is some kind of big pharma type company. This episode really focused on her the most when it comes to all the new characters. She’s really having this internal struggle over what she does for a living and I can see that she wants to make her father proud but not if it means hurting other people. Her and Bette have a lot in common – love of pantsuits being one thing — and I’m excited to see how they interact with eachother in future episodes.
Next is Finley. I relate to her chaotic ass the most out of all of the new generation characters (minus the fact she doesn’t shave her armpits. That ain’t it for me sis). I put her here on this faux list thing simply because while I relate to her style, her personality, and genuine recklessness, we didn’t see enough of her for me to really talk about her. I am most excited to see how her storyline develops and much like how Dani is a lot like Bette, Finley is a lot like Shane. When she says she lives in a one bedroom in Korea town with five roommates and Shane says she’s been there before I was like hell yeah you have baby, I remember season one Shane.
Lastly, Micah. He’s my least favorite simply because I don’t think the actor who plays him is very good. He had very cute scenes with the new property manager, Jose, but while the dialogue/situation was very funny, I just don’t think he performed very well. He says the lines but he doesn’t really know how to emote and that may be due to this being like his first acting gig. Hoping his acting will get better as the season progresses.

Bette is running for mayor of Los Angeles and Tina is nowhere to be found. She has two phone calls with her but that’s all y’all tibette fans are getting. Sorry. Y’all know how I have called out Bette for being a whore in the past well, she’s still on her bullshit. Throughout the episode it’s hinted at that Bette is running for office for a certain reason and she has this hatred for big pharma because of their contribution to the opioid crisis. This is my cracked out theory: I think Bette is running for office because a loved one fell victim to the opioid crisis and I think it was Kit. She has a history of addiction and we don’t see her in the reboot so those are my thots.
Alice. ALICE!!! God, I fucking love leisha hailey. It’s like no time has passed. She still has this brilliant comedic timing and it’s just so heightened this time around. The first time we see her she’s yelling at her girlfriends kids in a quest to find “the fucking spatula.” I love seeing her clumsily come into her own as a parental figure. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing her interact with the kids even more. She has a talk show just like in the original series and a few of the new characters actually work for her. What a coincidence, I know. Hopefully she won’t out any professional athletes like she did in the original 😂💀.
Now for this bitch. Shane is on our screens for two seconds before she’s fucking some woman and it’s like damn, nothings really changed hoe😌. She does seem to be going through some kind of depression. She’s returned to LA after selling her salon in Paris and NY. Daddy warbucks Shane is hot ngl. Although, she’s back in LA but she doesn’t know what she wants to do and I think she should get back into modeling because I’ve missed seeing her in her tighty whities. Now, here’s where things get interesting and I don’t know about y’all but I’m full on prepared to storm showtime headquarters. Anyways, Finley is sent over to put the bed together and while they’re talking to one another Shane’s phones goes off. Finley asks who it is and Shane says, “MY WIFE.” Excuse me? I did not wait my whole life for this show to come back for Shane to be married to someone who is not Carmen de la pica morales. What’s so special about this other bitch? Why can we marry her but not the funny, talented, beautiful, gorgeous, sweet, caring, wonderful Carmen? Hmmmmm???? Showtime explain.

Blaine is about to die.
He would like not to, but he can see the life he yet has to live slipping right through the fingers of his cold, clammy hands.
“Fuck.” he mutters under his breath. He’s surprised he still has breath to waste.
“What’s wrong, Blainey Day?” Tina asks from the other side of the breakfast table.
“Fuck.” he says again.
He has no idea how he’ll say anything different ever again.
“Blaine?” Tina asks, more worried, looking up from her own phone.
He shuts down his phone and shoots on his feet.
“I forgot I had a capoeira lesson.”

She doesn’t seem particularly convinced, but he doesn’t wait around to answer any question. He picks up his messanger bag and runs out of the apartment. He has no idea were to go, he just knows that he should probably avoid river banks.
He ends up holing himself away in a Starbucks, because nothing says millenial misery like crying over a missent selfie in a coffeehouse chain.
He can’t bear the thought of taking his phone out of his pocket.
His thigh buzzes. Then again.
He’s supposed to tell his mother how many of his friends he’s bringing to the housewarming of their new vacation house by the lake.
He tentitevely takes out his phone.
He’s got a text from his mother and two more for the stranger he sent a photo of himself kneeling on a bed. Thank God he had underwear on. White boxer briefs he was pulling down on one side so low that some hair that shouldn’t be seen were in fact showing, but still. At least he isn’t butt naked.
Curse the day he decided that there wasn’t much difference between a bathing suit and underwear anyway.

Even though we didn’t have sex, I have woke up with a smile on my face. I really enjoyed last night, I think hearing that I am not a danger to my kids, it’s really made me happy. Robyn has shown me nothing but loving, I have enjoyed it. I think not everything needs to be about sex, I guess but I enjoyed it, but Robyn is not in bed and I have slept way more then I usually do. I groaned out as I sat up on the edge of the bed, every time I travel and go to different climates my body always aches but I am used to it but hate it, this is my body telling me I am ill and to relax but life goes on. I am happy to know Robyn wants more kids, I would never say no to more kids, why not. I can afford it and also I enjoy being a dad and I would like a son but also I will be blessed even if I had five daughters because they are the best, Reign has changed me so much. My phone started to ring in my hand, looking down at the caller I.D. What does Tina want now, answering the call “morning?” I said groggily “hey my handsome man” here she goes “your handsome man? Smiling lightly at Robyn “I hope everything was ok?” Robyn asked “you know me” I sat down on the couch “I am sorry Robyn” Shawn said “for what?” Robyn said in confusion, I wonder what his fat ass mouth got to say “I don’t want to fall out with my brother, he means everything to me. So I was taking him to Milan, to party. And I invited a girl, Valentina she is a well known woman to get girls but in the past she has been good to us, I needed someone to get us a villa so I can get a villa and party, I didn’t think anything of it until Maurice said she has been messaging him but the thing is, she is a friend and Maurice knows that but I am sorry, I feel like I let him down and you, I am sorry” he wants to admit to it so be it “right, I did see he was messaging her too which was very harmless but why did you do that? How?” Robyn asked “because she knows Milan, she is friends of ours too. We have never had sex with her at all” Shawn put his hands up “Maurice seen her pussy though, he admitted that” Shawn frowned at me “I ain’t lying to my girl, but this is his fault but nothing happened. Honest” I mumbled “wow, you’re a real dumbass. Now I am angry at you” Nalah said “I made a mistake! She knows how to party, I am sorry! Please. I wanted to say sorry to you Robyn” Robyn is not happy at all, I am just stressed out of my mind right now.

If you’d like to write the Goldsteins as Jewish (since they are!) but aren’t sure how to do that, I’ve compiled a list of fiction books about early-twentieth-century American Jewish life! I figured that nonfiction can be hard to access or get through, and info sites like MyJewishLearning are hard to contextualize both into actual experiences and into the historical setting. Plus, fiction gives you a feel for things rather than just tossing information at you. And it’s enjoyable! These books can help you learn about what Tina and Queenie’s upbringing and lifestyle might have been like, and they go into topics like food, tenement life, Jewish neighborhoods, school, social/love lives, religious and cultural life, and how Jews adjusted from being new immigrants to being more integrated into general society. They’re from slightly different time periods, and all but one take place in New York City.
The Boston Girl by Anita Diamant
Era: 1915-1930
Coming of age story of a young woman named Addie, featuring her friendships, family struggles, love life, and career misadventures. Addie was born around 1901, so she’s a good reference for Tina. It’s a useful book for this since it spans such a large range of time. It goes into details about things like language, culture, tenement life, settlement houses, employment, religion, food, weddings, and other life cycle rituals. It does take place in Boston, rather than NY, but I imagine there were a lot of similarities.
The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker
Era: 1899/1900
A really lovely fantasy book about a golem (a creature from Jewish folklore) and a Jinni who find themselves in New York City and strike up a frienship. The Golem, Chava, lives in the Jewish area of the city and follows Jewish customs. This is a little before Tina and Queenie’s time, but it could be a good reference for their parents and for understanding the environment they may have come from. It goes into local flavor, different types of Jews (religious vs. secular), and how the community works. It also goes into Jewish magic stuff!
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon
Era: 1930s/40s
Joe Kavalier is a talented artist from Prague who escapes pre-Holocaust Europe in a box, and Sammy Clay, his cousin, is an American Jew who knows how to turn dreams into entrepreneurship. Together, they use their creativity and ingenuity to break into the emerging comics industry based in NYC. It also gives insights into what secular Jewishness would have looked like and how it was still undeniably Jewish, in a much better way than I can describe in tumblr posts (it helps that the author is a secular Jew himself, whereas I’m religious).
Middle-grade books - I’m including these even though they’re for kids because they’ve got good information, and they’re good if you’re looking for a faster read. Also, if English isn’t your first language and you want something easier, these are a good choice.
All-of-a-Kind-Family by Sydney Taylor
Era: 1910s
This is a set of five books about five sisters growing up on the Lowest East Side of NYC. It goes into tenement life, the Jewish community, religious life, corner stores, chores, social lives, school, Shabbat, etc. It could be a good reference for Tina and Queenie’s childhoods. The author herself was actually born in 1904, and the stories are based on her own upbringing, not just research.
Rebecca: The Sound of Applause
Era: 1914
This is an American Girl book about a ten-year-old girl named Rebecca. It goes into school life, religious life, the fabric of the neighborhood, the differences between new and recent immigrants, and dealing with Christmas. Also a good reference for Tina and Queenie’s childhoods.
Dave at Night by Gail Carson Levine
Era: 1926
Dave is eleven when his father dies and he’s sent to live at a Jewish boys’ orphanage. But he starts sneaking out at night, and an old man takes him under his wing and starts bringing him to parties. He lives a dull orphanage life by day and an exciting Harlem Renaissance life by night. Dave is younger than the Goldstein girls, but since it takes place in 1926 I thought I’d include it anyway. It goes into Jewish mourning practices, Jewish communal life, and some of the ways Jews interacted with other communities.
Hope these are useful! I recommend them all just as books to read for pleasure, btw, in addition to references.
