Translation: Lunatic Heroes Column Card
Tumblr media
These are my photos of the Lunatic Heroes Column Card. I literally bought this just so I could translate it 🥰
Yuri Petrov ユーリ・ペトロフ
(市内こども新聞内のコーナー「働く人たち」より抜粋)
Excerpt from the column "Working People" from the children's newspaper in the city
Tumblr media
質問①裁判官・兼・ヒーロー管理官ってどういうお仕事なんですか?
Question 1. What kind of job is a Hero Administrator?
Nice to meet you. My name is Yuri Petrov. Even if you ask me about my profession, there will be many children who won't understand. A judge's job is to exercise judicial power by holding a trial. And the Hero Administrator is literally the job of managing heroes. Specifically, we receive a dispatch request from the scene of the incident or accident, and determine whether a hero really needs to be sent, deal with various problems caused when the hero is dispatched, and make decisions about the hero. If I make a wrong decision or if the timing of the decision is delayed, the damage of incidents and disasters will increase more and more, as well as the number of victims, so I think it is a very important role.
質問②僕もヒーロー管理官になりたいのですがどうしたらなれますか?
Question 2. I also want to be a Hero Administrator, how do I become one?
司法局に勤める人間にしか与えられない職務ですので、まずは司法局に入局してください。その為には、司法試験に合格し裁判官になる資格を得なくてはなりません。その為には、学校の勉強を頑張ることが一番の近道ではないでしょうか。
It is a job that can only be given to people who work in the Justice Bureau, so you would need to join the Justice Bureau first. In order to do that, you have to pass the bar exam and be qualified to become a judge. And in order to do that, isn't the best way to work hard at school?
質問③ヒーローと仲良しなんですか?
Question 3. Are you friends with the heroes?
仲良しではありません。個人的な連絡先の交換等、立場上禁止されていますので、プライヴェートでの交際も一切ありません。
No, we're not friends. It is prohibited due to the exchange of personal contact information, so we have no private relationships at all.
Tumblr media
質問④誰と仲がいいんですか?
Question 4. Who are you close with?
ですから、誰とも仲良しではありません。個人的な感情を持つことは、一瞬の判断を誤らせることに繋がりかねませんので。
Consequently, I'm not good friends with anyone. Having personal feelings can lead to a momentary lapse in judgement.
質問⑤お仕事をする時に一番大切なことは何ですか?
Question 5. What is the most important thing needed to do your job?
このお仕事に必要なことは、冷静な判断力と瞬時の決断力です。
What you need for this job is calm judgement and split second decisiveness.
質問⑥お仕事のために努力していることはありますか?
Question 6. Is there anything that gives you an advantage to work harder?
That's a difficult question. If you dare try something, put plenty of syrup in your coffee so as not to make a mistake in momentary decisions. By doing this, you will be able to improve your thinking and make the right judgement calls. It has been scientifically proven that the brain is activated by ingesting glucose. There are various types of sugar, but there is no other source of energy for the brain other than glucose. By the way, sources of glucose like grape sugar are never in the shape of a grape.
Without a doubt, sometimes people misunderstand because the bacteria called staphylococcus is a mass like a bunch of grapes when viewed under a microscope.
(TN: I added the mention of grape sugar because the actual word used is ブドウ糖 which can translate to grape sugar or glucose. It's clear it's a pun on words because staphylococcus is written as ブドウ球菌, with ブドウ (grape) being the commonality. So even though Yuri is educating the kids on glucose, I added grape syrup to keep the pun intact, even though they are the same word).
質問⑦お仕事がんばってください。
Question 7. Good luck with your work.
質問ではないのですね。ありがとう。精一杯力を尽くします、市民の平和の為に
This is not a question, is it? Thank you. I will do my best, for the peace of the citizens.
・・・・・そして、正義のために・・・・・。
And for justice.

Check!! 見つめる者
Check!! A staring person
For Yuri (Lunatic), the heroes' sense of justice is incompatible with his own.
However, the behaviour of outsiders like Ouroboros is even more unforgivable. This is why he's not convinced that the heroes are struggling like this, and watches the battle with an annoyed expression (on his face).

I'm in Love with the Villainess Spoiler-Filled Review [Part 2]
Continued from Part 1 (which was published yesterday)
youtube
Typically, Claire tries to deny her feelings, after making this declaration. Rae and everyone one refuse to believe it. This surprises Rae. She doesn't want to let Claire go. In a post-credits scene, Manaria departs for Sousse. Rae believes that Manaria wanted Rae and Claire to begin a romantic relationship from the start. Many of Claire's friends (like Misha, Loretta, and Pipi) and the Princes, wish Claire the best. They root for her and Rae to marry. Claire likes this idea, saying that Rae would be her bride, before attempting to take it back. Later in the manga, both characters marry. Hopefully, that would be animated if this series is renewed. NOTE: This includes spoilers for the anime AND the manga, so if you don't want to see those, then please turn away and don't read past this paragraph.
Reprinted from Pop Culture Maniacs and Wayback Machine. This was the sixty-first article I wrote for Pop Culture Maniacs. This post was originally published on December 30, 2023.
In another powerful scene in Watashi, Rae refuses to reveal who she is to Manaria. She says, in an inner monologue, that she is doing all of this to prevent a future tragedy. She shakes Manaria's hand and agrees to take care of Claire. They are some other nice moments. Rae teases Claire. She blushes like nobody's business, since she is having fun with Rae teasing her. The series ends happily for them and was crafted to give them a "happy ever after." However, as Steven Universe told Spinel in the 2019 film (which has conflicting messages on happy endings), "there's no such thing as happily ever after. I'll always have more work to do." The RWBY Volume 8 theme declared, "Happy Ever Never After Again." Both are applicable here.
A possible second season could involve new twists, like Rae's plan, which echoes Mia Tearmoon's efforts in Tearmoon Empire, to avoid Claire's execution (her "downfall ending" as one Q&A puts it). Characters like Lilly Lilium may appear. Storylines which accurately portray sexuality would continue. The latter isn't surprising. The manga's author, Inori, is a lesbian (is possibly trans) and is influenced by various yuri works. She has another recently published yuri novel. It's entitled The Girl Who Wants to Become a Hero <me> and the Girlfriend Who Should Become a Hero <you>. It's not known when an English translation will be available.
I'd love to see some trans characters and perhaps even have some Claire-centered episodes. After all, there are light novel series entitled I'm in Love with the Villainess: She's so Cheeky for a Commoner, from Claire's perspective, and "Claire's Diary" which some fans happily translated. Other fans have even translated all the opening and ending sequences, TV spots, promotional content, Q&A, and more. Even though I highly doubt there would be any criticism of marriage as an institution. Nothing in a future season would echo Young Love. On the other hand, this series is more positive on lesbian romance than others. This is no shock. Rae, throughout the manga, has four women interested in her: Claire, Manaria, Lilly, and Lana Lahna! At one point, Claire even calls Rae a "womanizer" as a result, which surprises her.

Unlike some other anime, the subbed and dubbed versions aired simultaneously. Surely, the Japanese voice actors, including Yu Serizawa and Karin Nanami for Rae and Claire, and Nana Mizuki for Manaria, did an excellent job. Serizawa voiced Mutsu in Love Live! Sunshine!!. Mizuki voiced Airi Amano in D4DJ First Mix and Riko's mother in Love Live! Sunshine!! The same can be said for Princes Rod, Thane, and Yue. They are voiced by Ken'ichirō Ōhashi (also known as Kenn), Daisuke Namikawa, and Yoko Hikasa. All three are talented voice actors. The same is the case for Aimi Terakawa, Ikumi Hasegawa, Sara Matsumoto, Minami Kurisaka. They voice Misha, Lene, Loretta and Pipi respectfully.
Aimi is known as Kasumi Toyama in the BanG Dream franchise and Kyoko Yamate in D4DJ. Hasegawa voiced Sorane Matsuyama in If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die, Desumi Magahara in Love After World Domination, Koito in My Master Has No Tail, Ikuyo Kita in Bocchi the Rock!, Kotoko Nogisaka in Ippon Again!, and Shizuka in World Dai Star. Matsumoto voiced golf mafia boss Charlotte in Birdie Wing: Golf Girls' Story as well.
English dub voice actors, like Hannah Alyea, Lindsey Sheppard, Corey Wilder, Oscar Seung, Ciarán Strange, Marisa Duran, Kara Edwards, Erin Nicole Lundquist, Abigail Blythe, and Katelyn Barr, are talented too. Alyea, a non-binary actor, who voices Rae, did the dubbed voice for Aoi Inuyama in Laid-Back Camp and for Lumi and the Great Big Galaxy, an indie animation. Sheppard, who voices Claire, is known, in part, for voicing Saphron Cotta-Arc in RWBY, Amy Sibble in Wild Card: The Show, and Kaede in Sasaki and Miyano. Like Alyea, Duran, who voices Misha, is also non-binary, and of Spanish descent. She's voiced a variety of roles. Wilder, who voices Rod, is a non-binary Black man, voiced a wide array of characters.
This also the case for Seung and Edwards. They voice Thane and Lene. Strange is a talented trans non-binary man. Lundquist is Latina, queer, and "military veteran voice actor." Blythe describes herself as a "demi lesbian." She said that voicing Pipi is a "dream come true," noting she'd been a fan of the manga, and was overjoyed to voice "a sapphic character in a sapphic anime." Barr is a seasoned voice actress known for roles such as Hina Hikawa in BanG Dream! and Chiaki in Laid-Back Camp.
While I have criticisms of Watashi, it remains the stand-out series of 2023, with amazing music, and is fun, goofy, serious, deep, and very queer at the same time. Avid viewers and fans may encourage Ichijinsha (the publisher of the light novel and manga) for a second season, per Erica Friedman's suggestion on her site. This series comes when there are many yuri series in 2024. This includes possibly yurish Pon no Michi and Metallic Rouge in January. By April, others with yuri themes will include Nijiyon Animation season 2, Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night, Laid-Back Camp season 3, and Whisper Me a Love Song.
I'm in Love with the Villainess is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.

Can you please share your story of how you became a Kisshu x Ichigo shipper and Tokyo Mew Mew fan in the first place? It would be really interesting to discover the original of it all!
Sure! :) putting this under a readmore because it’s going to be long.
I discovered TMM as an anime first, via the ominous depths of 2006 YouTube, split into 3 parts and uploaded in 360p. I’d already watched a bit of anime — mostly whatever was popular — I think I’d finished all of Inuyasha, seen most of classic Sailor Moon, and I was halfway through Cardcaptor Sakura when I picked up TMM. I fell in love with it pretty much from episode 1, and immediately dove into fan forums, wikis, etc. I finished my first watch of it on YouTube and immediately wanted more, so little 5th grader me scraped together some cash and bought the first two volumes of the manga. When I finished those over the span of literally one evening, I read the last five while sitting on the floor of a Barnes & Noble (as one does when you’re young and broke and really wanna read a new manga).
Not to get too deep, but I had a pretty bizarre and lonely childhood, so I basically took whatever anime or manga I could find and inhaled it as a form of escapism. I was at the library almost every weekend camped out in a corner reading manga. I went on to watch basically any anime that was appealing to my demographic as a middle schooler — Shugo Chara, FMA, Soul Eater, Full Moon, Ouran — you name the anime that a middle school girl would be into, and I’d seen it. But literally nothing could scratch the itch for a unique story and creativity in its characters like TMM did. I wrote a ton of (terrible) fanfiction for it back in the day, watched every single AMV on the internet, and argued with people in TMM forums about whether ZakuMint is canon or not (as one does when you’re queer and in middle school and full of emotions).
Speaking more specifically to why Quiche & Ichigo is still my OTP as an adult — I think it was the first time I’d really experienced a pairing that was a more complex (and dark) take on a villain/hero relationship. Those kinds of pairings in movies and TV shows had always fascinated me as a kid, but Mia Ikumi’s vision for kishigo in TMM’s manga had me totally captivated. Coupled with the fact that Quiche as a character was fascinating to me (more on that in my other ask I’ve already answered here), I think it’s hard to match that same childhood excitement and wonder while consuming new media as an adult. Once you have a childhood OTP, it’s hard to let go of it completely. You can find other ships you’re excited about, but if you’re really, truly in love with one pairing, and you’re getting treated to new media for it like Ikumi’s Re-Turn… it’s hard to replicate. :)
I’m still a big fan of the enemies-to-lovers and villain/hero tropes today, and TMM will always be a special fandom for me that I return to time and time again. 💖

Pretty good answers! :D
1: since being half-aliens, have they ever been treated “differently”? (Like the x-men/mutants in marvel)
2: how did they get into Dragonball? I say Kon & Tim introduced it to them (plus Jon)
3: how does one become a member of the titans of tomorrow/Star Knights?
4: what’s their opinion on the Netflix adaption of avatar the last airbender?
5: what’s their bedrooms look like? (I know Jake’s)
6: what does the members of titans of tomorrow/starknights look like? (Besides the duo & mar’i) do you use canon appearances?
Thanks Man, it’s really appreciated @pin-crusher2000 👍
1) While on the whole the two are respected quite well and even have some popularity at their respective schools, even now and then, especially in their earlier elementary school days, they would get picked on by some bullies for their little quirks as pertained by their origin points. Sure when in the field as heroes they can get intense scrutiny and even some bigotry based on their alien and technically mutant trait, it’s not really a thing that truly affects them as they’ve faced it beforehand and it really doesn’t matter as much as their real angsts in life
2) Oh my beyond doubt it was Kon and Jon to an extent that introduced the Duo to Dragon Ball, mainly after Jon got a manga volume of the original series when he was shopping for Naruto ones. Chris was interested in it so Jon went ahead to get it for his big brother and shortly then Jake looked up the original series online and once the two were able to sit and watch the series from there, the Duo’s fandom began in earnest.
3) Initiation comes with first proving yourself a trustworthy, reliable and honest type of hero that wants to hang out with them, basically earning their friendship which isn’t too hard. Honestly, both teams aren’t necessarily strict nor they ever relied on tests or the like unless the newest recruit requests them. That being said if you wanna be a true permanent member a lot faster for the StarKnights in particular, you are dared to spend a day wearing a blue and pink tutu and later last through eating there entire bowls of Brussels sprouts.
4) At first Chris and Jake were genuinely enthusiastic as the look of the show and the effects promised something that would be faithful in its own way to the show that started it all. Overtime though with each new announcement made to change the story and character details which are true deviations from the source material, that enthusiasm quickly gave way to caution and weariness. They can only hope it’s not as bad as that live action movie which was the first attempt at adapting that show.
5) I picture Chris having redwood hardwood floors couple with orange carpets and rugs laid out all over, his Queen sized bed next to the window, two glass sliding doors for his closet, a small two shelves dresser next to said bed, drawers and cabinets on the opposite side of the bed which on top of one is his TV and video game consoles, his action figures, and even a Straight Ally flag. At one empty corner would be his electric Bass Guitar and inside the closet and dresser are his comic books. Finally in the bed itself, he has a grey and white comforter which is topped by his favorite Sky Blue Blanket with an S Shield on it.
6) Well, for Jasper Logan in particular since he’s an OC created by an old mutual of mine and a fan art, this link here should help you get a visual on what he looks like
Otherwise, fudging with the ages a bit, the StarKnights and the Titans of Tomorrow have their physical appearances based on canonical forms. Only tiny change I can think of being for Irey and Jai having Dark Yellow and Lime Green respectively as part of their super suits to help distinguish them.

volume 2 thoughts
ok so. byler never had to become canon in season 4. yes it would have been nice and probably would have been the better choice if they do ever end up going canon but it’s not queerbait just because they didn’t go canon in season 4.
but the way they handled will’s storyline in volume 2 makes me fucking sick. even if byler never went canon and will was another robin, is that seriously how they’re going to treat their queer characters? will giving mike pep talks about el and taking a backseat whenever mike and el are onscreen? if they make that whole-ass “you can tell me anything” scene and then don’t have will ever come out i’m quitting the show.
they’ve built up byler sooooo much over the past years, not only in the show but also in interviews and on social media. the fact that we’re still dealing with this in 2022 is fucking sickening and i’ve honestly lost all confidence that byler will become canon because of the fucking finale. “will and mike have a moment of mutual understanding and acceptance” WHERE??? WHERRRRRE IS THAT MOMENT? when will says “el will love you” and then cries? when el and mike kiss and will stares sadly at them from the kitchen??
and then they make that ONE SINGULAR robin/vickie scene at the end like “ohhhh look at us we support gay people! there are lesbians, look at them! one of them doesn’t even impact the plot but they’re there!”
fuck you fuck you fuck you
mike’s entire storyline this season culminating in him saying “ily” to el makes me want to throw up and also why did they lowkey make his love confession scene parallel his “you said yes” scene? like there was literally no reason to do that.
and eddie??? why did they kill eddie off Like That? it was so predictable and they literally showed it in the fucking trailer? they’re obviously trying to pull some “oh look he didn’t run away! he actually WAS a hero! but so sad he didn’t get to graduate!! this was supposed to be his year :(((” but that’s literally what all the eddie fans were saying this past month so why did they give him this cookie-cutter ass death? if they were gonna kill him off they could have had him sacrifice himself to save an actual person, instead of just dying alone covered in bats. and why were dustin and wayne the only ones to react to eddie’s death? steve nancy robin mike and erica all knew eddie really well. even max and lucas were on good terms with him. i get that they couldn’t show a funeral or anything because hawkins fuckin hates eddie, but they could have had a dustin-and-wayne scene for the entire group.
fuck stancy. it doesn’t matter if you think they’re cute or not all this “will they won’t they” is dumb as shit and it’s not fair to jonathan, nancy, or steve. either get them together or have them stay just friends but what they are now is fucking annoying.
russia gang was cute i liked the jopper scenes. but it feels like they took up so much unnecessary screentime?
oh and another byler thing why tf did they do that with the painting?? it didn’t have to be will and mike making out or anything but the fact that will’s gesture of love to mike ended up propping up milkvan is just cruel.
max and lucas were neat is was fun to finally see jason get his ass handed to him but wtf is up with max? it’s kinda repetitive to make her almost die twice like that. again, just kill her and get it over with or keep her alive. i truly don’t have the energy to “wait and see” if she’ll live.
all in all i LOVED volume 1. it was fun, it was scary, it was everything i wanted in a tv show and made me excited for volume 2. but volume 2 was a HUGE letdown. there were some good moments like the gang stealing the camper, the will/el hug, and hopper reuiniting with el, but other than that i kinda hated it. it felt heavy on useless running around and fighting but lacked any real character depth, and the way they handled will’s storyline was fucking cruel. i kept sitting there thinking “okay they’ve just laid the groundwork for an amazing scene, i just have to be patient enough and wait for the show to get good.” and then it never did.
i commented in the tags of somebody else’s post a few days ago that whenever we get queer representation, it’s either a stereotyped queer in a show for cishets or a well-written queer in a show for queer people. stranger things had the chance to do both, to write a story about 2 gay childhood best friends falling in love. and they fucking didn’t. i was naive for expecting good representation, and i guess from now on i’ll only watch shows if i know how the queer characters end up because i’m telling you right now i CANNOT deal with another 2 years of will’s sexuality being “left up to interpretation” and then getting a season where he kinda just hangs out and cries and never confirms anything. i fucking hate it here.
fuck netflix, fuck the duffers, fuck every single one of the cast members who teased byler in season 4, and fuck all of the social-media managers posting about byler. i fucking hate all of you.

Synopsis: When helping Aunt May move stuff around the attic, Peter accidentally breaks open a storage trunk filled with photos and other items belonging to his parents. Among these is a newspaper clipping that identifies that his parents were traitors to their country. Mortified, Peter questions his Aunt May, who tells him of his parents and the last time they saw them alive and how she and his Uncle Ben adopted him when they were killed.
Unable to shake this idea from his mind, Peter decides to learn the full story, and so as Spider-Man he seeks the Fantastic Four's aid in helping him travel to the last place his parents were reported seen alive: Algeria. There he learns that his parents were supposedly spies who worked for the Red Skull, and he came across their ID badges for the Skull's organization. Spider-Man also stumbles upon the Red Skull himself, who is in the country to organize a new plot to take over the world.
Spider-Man clashes with the Skull and his men and eventually learns from one of them that Richard and Mary Parker were murdered by the Red Skull when they refused to do his bidding. Believing his parents to have died heroes, he goes after the Red Skull once more and defeats him in battle. In the aftermath, he finds that his father's Red Skull ID card has been cracked in the battle, and finds ID cards underneath that identify them as anti-espionage agents, proving to Peter that his parents were secret government operatives. With evidence to clear his parents' names, Peter returns to the United States, happy to know that in reality, his parents died serving their country instead of betraying it.

The manga series was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1989 to 1996, and it has a total of 37 volumes. It follows the adventures of a young hero named Dai, who embarks on a quest to defeat the Dark Lord Hadlar and save the world. Along his journey, he is joined by a group of companions and encounters various monsters and adversaries.
The anime adaptation of "Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken" was first aired in 1991 and ran for 46 episodes. It gained popularity not only in Japan but also internationally. The series has been praised for its engaging storyline, memorable characters, and exciting battles. It has since become a classic within the fantasy adventure genre.
In recent years, there has been a new anime adaptation of "Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken" that began airing in October 2020. This new series, simply titled "Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai," features updated animation and a retelling of the original story. It aims to introduce a new generation of viewers to the world of Dai and his companions.
Overall, "Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken" is a beloved franchise that has captivated fans with its epic tale of heroism, friendship, and the classic elements of the "Dragon Quest" series.
1. Who is the main character of Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken (TV)
The main character of "Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken" (TV) is Dai. He is a young boy who dreams of becoming a hero and is the central protagonist of the series. Dai is initially a resident of Dermline Island, where he lives with his adoptive grandfather, Brass. He possesses great potential as a hero due to being a half-human, half-dragon hybrid known as a "Dragon Knight."
Dai's journey begins when his peaceful life on the island is disrupted by the resurrection of the Dark Lord Hadlar, who threatens to bring chaos and destruction to the world. Determined to stop Hadlar's evil plans, Dai leaves his home and sets out on a quest to defeat the Dark Lord and bring peace to the land.
Throughout his adventures, Dai learns to harness his dragon powers and acquires new skills and abilities. He encounters allies who join him on his journey, such as Popp, a young mage, and Maam, a warrior and former bandit. Together, they face numerous challenges, confront powerful enemies, and strive to protect the world from the forces of darkness.
Dai is characterized by his courage, determination, and unwavering sense of justice. He is a kind-hearted and loyal hero who inspires those around him. Over the course of the series, he grows both as a warrior and as an individual, facing hardships and discovering the true meaning of heroism.

The main plot of "Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken" (TV) revolves around the adventures of the protagonist, Dai, as he embarks on a quest to defeat the Dark Lord Hadlar and save the world from his malevolent ambitions.
The story begins with the resurrection of Hadlar, a powerful sorcerer and servant of the Demon King, who seeks to conquer the world and spread darkness. Hadlar's return prompts Dai to leave his peaceful life on Dermline Island and join the fight against evil.
Dai, a young hero-in-training and a half-human, half-dragon hybrid known as a Dragon Knight, sets out on his journey accompanied by his friends. His primary goal is to defeat Hadlar and prevent him from obtaining the power of the Legendary Hero, which would enable him to unleash untold destruction.
Throughout their journey, Dai and his companions face a series of challenges and battles against various monsters, demons, and followers of Hadlar. They visit different locations, encounter powerful adversaries, and engage in epic clashes to protect innocent lives and maintain the balance between light and darkness.
As the story progresses, Dai not only hones his own abilities but also forms bonds with his allies and learns the importance of friendship, teamwork, and self-discovery. Alongside the overarching conflict with Hadlar, the series explores Dai's personal growth, his determination to become a true hero, and the sacrifices he must make to fulfill his destiny.

Adventure Zone Here There be Gerblins by Clint McElroy, Griffin McElroy, Justin McElroy, Travis McElroy & Carey Pietsch
5/5
Tumblr media
This review is for fan entertainment, I'm not being paid.
I have been wanting to get into D&D for a long time, I have seen many episodes of Critical Roll’s campaign, I thought how the adventures and the characters were amazing (I’m more into campaign 2 than campaign 1). So, I set off to find books that are like them or more unique than them and I found the Adventure Zone.
I was worried that the story and the characters would be breaking the immersion when reading this book, but after reading this book, I was happy that even though sometimes they mention like real world stuff it was more for comic relief and it wasn’t as big of a deal, when they somewhat broke the 4th wall. Some of the jokes that they tell are more adult themes but nothing too extreme (in my opinion).
We follow three adventurers who are traveling to meet up with a cousin of the party.
We have:
Human fighter name Magus
Elf Wizard name Taako
And finally, a dwarf Cleric name Merle
Our three adventures are on a mission to meet up with Merle’s cousin to haul some stuff to a mine. We also meet our DM (Dungeon Master) who is a riot to read. He is also a character in this book, who talks and interacts with our heroes.
As you would expect, monsters attack their wagon and they go chasing after them, to make sure that these guys don’t regroup. They also find the mine, which is good and bad, the Gerblins are held up in there with their boss.
My favorite character of the series is Taako, I like Magus and Merle very much, but Taako is too funny and flamboyant you can not help but like him. We also get a little bit of back story on each of the characters (not much) like Merle and his cousin and Taako was a TV chef, however I didn’t see too much with Magus, he was the only one I didn’t pick up on anything.
I don’t want to spoil too much of this book, but this is a really good read if you are wanting to get into D&D, the characters are likeable and funny and the story that the DM weaves is amazing. Some parts of the book are heart wrenching, and you can’t help feeling the sadness and the emotions of the characters.
The book itself is gorgeous to read too each page, each panel is wonderfully drawn. As of now they have 5 volumes of this series, and I can’t wait to see where their adventures take them too.

The Devil Is a Part-Timer Volume 5 Review - Quite a Few Shockers in the End
Tumblr media
The Devil Is a Part-Timer Volume 5 has 2 different versions, the manga and light novel. For the manga, it's a really funny and amazing character you can relate to. I think we all live poor lives at times, and it's great to see that represented in this manga. It was released on March 27, 2014 in Japan, and on April 26, 2016 for the English version. The manga includes chapter: - The Devil Explains Matters to the Cleric - The Devil Fulfills His Assistant Manager Duties - The Devil Sits at His Dinner Table in Sasazuka - The Devil Grants His Servant a Break - The Devil Pledges to Stay Legitimate While for the light novel, I love this series. I think it's better than manga and beyond TV shows. It was released on June 10, 2012 in Japan, and April 19, 2016 for the English version. The light novel includes chapter: - Prologue - The Devil Strongly Demands TV Privileges - The Devil Explains Human Relations - The Devil and the Hero Decide to Focus on More Important Matters - Epilogue Both the light novel and manga are included into The Devil Is a Part-Timer merchandise, and here are the reasons why both of them are so good!
Manga Volume 5
Tumblr media
The Devil King sets out on his trusty horse (bicycle) to rescue his captured fast food colleagues! But is there a way to overcome the mighty foes he faces who have been stripped of his magic? Part-time Hamburger Flipper's full-time adventure continues! Here are the reasons why you have to read The Devil Is a Part-Timer manga volume 5: The Ending Season 1 of Anime It remains very faithful (nearly 1:1) to the light novel. Especially the main story overlaps with the ending of the anime. If you came from there, I would like to read the continuation of the story from volume 6. I really love everything about this story and it's nice to have another format in the anime. A Fun Manga That Helps With the Backstory Worth a read if you enjoy The Devil Is a Part-Timer. I really enjoy reading and enjoying works of art. The anime makes more sense after reading the manga and light novels that followed the storyline. Best Series Ever I'm still waiting to get here, but I've already read the light novel part where this takes place. I love everything about this series and from the 5 currently running light novels I bought, the 7 manga, and the 5 spin-offs I bought, the total cost of $200 is much better. If I get the chance I'll back up the original writing crew and easily sink another 200. That's how much I love this series.
Light Novel Volume 5
Tumblr media
Now that the dingy one-bedroom apartment has been repaired, the Fiend needs a new TV. The problem is that Maoh and Ashiya don't know the first thing about flat screens. Therefore, Emi's friend Rika is taken to a local large home appliance store. By chance, Suzuno also came along, making it a different kind of shopping tour! And here are why The Devil Is a Part-Timer light novel volume 5 is worth reading! Devils and Heroes Have Some Fun and Lots of Problems As my headline for this volume suggests, there's the usual sense of humor and lightheartedness throughout the novel, but it also connects a lot of what's happening at the point of this novel with what we can set out to do. There is some very serious action as well. Expect roughly the next volume. There are plenty of incredible otherworldly antics, but they make more sense when viewed through the lens of the larger picture that the series is developing around the universe. It's a fun read, and I'm looking forward to the next volume. Getting Better and Better With Every Book I Read Great book, each character getting more involved with each other and can't wait to read the next book in the series. I'm a The Devil Is a Part-Timer fan and recommend reading this and their manga and spin-off, as well! Another Great Novel! That's why the number of events related to the Demon King has increased again... or rather, Maou Sadao the Demon King. All is not well at Devils Castle as MgRonalds is closed for renewal and has no work to do. Luckily, his landlord found him a part-time job working at the beach house! However, Emilia does not trust him and decides to follow him. But what is that uncertain feeling in her heart? Why do you think so? Well, you have to read this by your own!   Read the full article

panty and schoking season 2 Announced ! : What Is The release date ?
Tumblr media
Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, also known as Panti Ando Sutokkingu Wizu Gataberuto (in Japanese), is a Japanese anime TV series produced by Gainax studio. It has a number of tie-in media. The first season of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, a very old series, premiered October 2, 2010. The manga adaptation was published in Japan's Young Ace manga between August 4, 2010, and June 4, 2011. It was then compiled into a single tankobon volume for publication. Dark Horse Comics published the manga series in English on May 28, 2015. The anime series and its manga adaptation have made a name themselves. A special episode of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt was released April 28, 2011. Fans have been clamouring for a second season of the show since its inception, but we still don't know anything about Season 2. This is all we know so far about Season 2. panty and Choking Season 2 Release Date Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt season 2 release date: When will it premiere Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt Season 1 premiered October 2, 2010. The special episode was released on April 28, 2011. It has been over a decade since the first season, but there is no sign of a second. This is a very disheartening fact, as most anime shows can be renewed in five years. There's also the possibility that the show could be cancelled. But, until confirmation is made official, it's impossible to know for sure. We think that Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt's season 2 release date is likely to be in 2021, in the unlikely event of the anime being renewed. This section will be updated as soon as more information becomes available. Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt English dub Funimation, Amazon Prime and AnimeLab have the English dub of 'Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LHdmI9-vU8 What Happened To Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt? By Qweken8 The show's name is a bit ludicrous, but it isn’t about stockings and panties. It focuses on the Anarchy sisters Panty and Stocking who are angels who were expelled from Heaven for their immoral behavior. The two sisters are expelled and sent to Daten City. It is located at the border of Heaven and Hell. Panty and Stocking arrive in Daten City to find it reeling from the evil spirits known as "Ghosts". The sisters are determined to get back to Heaven and find their place, so they take refuge in the church of reverend Garterbelt, their preacher-man boss. They decide to use their power to exterminate Ghosts to win favors in Heaven. Their method of exterminating the Ghosts is not very conventional. The sisters turn their lingerie into weapons to defeat the evil spirits. This sounds great, but Panty and Stocking don't take their duties seriously. Instead, they spend a lot of time in Daten City pursuing their "hobbies", which include Panty sleeping with anyone she finds and Stocking filling her mouth with sweets every chance she gets. This backdrop is the setting for the story of the Anarchy sisters, who attempt to live a sinful life in Daten City and fight evil spirits. Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt Characters As with most anime shows, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt features dozens of characters. Below, you'll find brief background information on each of these heroes. Panty Panty, an angel with blonde hair and pale skin is one of the main characters of the show. Her favorite activity is to find men to sleep with. Panty was expelled from Heaven and sent back to Daten City. She shows no regrets and continues to strive to fulfill her goal of sleeping with 1000 different men. Panty, a not the most pleasant angel, is often aggressive and rude to those around her, whether it's her sister, reverend Garterbelt or the men with whom she sleeps. Panty also appears to enjoy the celebrity lifestyle and revels in being Anarchy sister. Panty shows affection for Stocking despite these flaws. She tries her best to protect her sister. Panty has the ability to turn her panties into a Backlace pistol. She can sometimes be seen weaponizing Stocking's pants to allow her to use two Backlaces. Panty has the ability to make men's underwear weapons. However, the size and power these weapons have will depend on the size of their original owner's penis. Stocking Stocking, the second main character of the show is an angel with pale skin, pink and violet hair and an almost never-ending desire for sugary food. Stocking, despite her gluttony does not seem like she is losing weight. She claims that the sugary foods she eats are fat for her breasts. Stocking may seem more calm and polite than Panty but he can still be quite unpleasant when he wants to. Stocking appears to have a lower sexual appetite than Panty and is more interested in bondage and electrocution. Stocking has the ability to transform her stockings into a pair katanas, Stripe I or Stripe II. Garterbelt Garterbelt, a reverend of Daten City is a large, black man with a fro who acts as the guardian for the Anarchy sisters. He can often be seen relaying mission updates from Heaven to Panty and Stocking. His constant irritation at the sisters' self-indulgent and erratic behavior is what he spends most of his time doing. Garterbelt is a very active man who spends a lot of time trying to keep order in Daten City. However, he also has sex with younger men and practice bondage. We learn that Garterbelt is a reverend and a servant to Heaven. He has also been convicted of heinous crimes such as robbery and prostitution. Garterbelt is killed in one of his crimes, and God grants him another chance at life, and he is given the task of finding the kin to Hell's Monkey who holds the key for Hell's Gate. Garterbelt refuses to surrender, and God curses him with immortality. He is sent to Daten City, where he will be forbidden from dying, until he completes his task. Chuck Chuck, although not a main character on the show is very important as Panty and Stocking’s Ghost-hunting sidekick. Chuck, a green dog-like creature, has zippers on his bodies and is frequently subject to abuse by the Anarchy sisters. He is used primarily as a messenger for Heaven. Chuck is a useful combatant and can transform into a huge horned beast if he turns inside out. Brief, a Ghost hunter and self-described Ghost hunter, is another important supporting character. Brief is also known as "Geekboy" by Anarchy sisters. He tries to be the voice of reason for them, but their attempts to control their unpredictable behavior are often futile. Brief has a crush upon Panty, but Panty doesn't seem to care. Brief is often seen with his backpack. It has the ability detect Ghosts and create smokescreens when necessary. In the later episodes, Brief is revealed to be the kin and owner of Hell's Monkey's penis, which is the key for Hell's Gates. Why Anime Lovers Are Excited for The Panty & Stocking Sequel Reveal Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt, produced by Gainax, was first aired on October 1, 2010 to December 24, 2010. The comedy series is about two demon hunters turned fallen angels, Panty and Stocking. They follow orders from Garterbelt (an afro priest). Panty & Stocking has a unique and outrageous series that goes beyond the typical Gainax series FLCL or Gurren Lagann. Panty & Stocking is a memorable series that many people have never seen. There were many gimmicks and sometimes a completely different approach to animation in the series. One of the series' most important points was also its original soundtrack, which featured several composers, including Fly Awayby TeddyLoid. Personally, I think it was unbalanced. Some episodes or scenes were more memorable than others. A certain Kurogane described Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt, in the now-defunct era anime blogs, as "Too experimental even for Gainax", and that sentiment still resonates 12 years later. Panty & Stocking can be a fun and entertaining show, provided you are okay with the crude humor and images. I think you will love Panty & Stocking if Studio Trigger and Imaishi are your favorites. Studio Trigger and Its Gainax Origins: A Quick History Hiroyuki Otsuka, Panty And Stocking With Garterbelt director, left Gainax with several others in 2011 to create Studio Trigger. These included Panty & Stocking's scriptwriter Masahiko Okazu and Kazuya Masumoto, the producer. Gainax lost most of its talent but retained the rights to the series. Studio Trigger acquired the rights to Panty And Stocking With Garterbelt, Gurren Lagann and was able to announce more PSG in 2020. This announcement is a wonderful one and a dream come real for anime lovers who have been following the medium since late 2000s. It's exciting to see the new anime. The real Sun Wukong.
Tumblr media
As a long time fan of Sun Wukong aka the Monkey king, I’m really happy to know that he is finally getting the recognition he deserves, even though its because of a cartoon that is meant to sell Legos. Ignoring the Lego thing, the monkey king is by far the best character of the show because of his personality and great power, (also because he is adorable in this version), but what makes him even better is knowing what he had to go through before and during his famous journey to the west.
It has come to my attention that not many people know who the Monkey King really is, many might have seen or heard of him from cartoons, parodies, videogames, or at least as a reference in a Chinese movie or tv show, but not everyone got to read the book which is super long, not even me because I only read the first of four volumes but thanks to some research, podcasts, and many Youtube videos, I know a lot more about this character and his story.
You could say I am one of the Monkey king’s biggest fans.
Tumblr media
I was also born in the year of the monkey. So I’m gonna share almost everything I know about the Monkey King in this post, and if you still have questions about him, you can leave a comment or send me a note.
1. LEGO Monkey Kid.
Tumblr media
The Chinese/American cartoon that is introducing the legendary Monkey king to today’s youth.
The cartoon follows MK, which is short for Monkie Kid, who lives in this futuristic city in China and works as a noodle delivery boy. In this future the Monkey king is a well known hero who basically founded the city after sealing away a powerful bull demon under a mountain with his magical staff. MK accidentally stumbles across a group of demons that free the Demon Bull King, and while attempting to escape, MK finds out he can carry and wield the Monkey King’s staff which eventually leads to Sun Wukong himself naming him his successor.
Sun Wukong’s personality is spot on in this show, he is vain, easygoing, a trickster, but he is also wise, disciplined, and knows when to get serious. What makes him a great character is that fans of the original story know what he had to go through to become what he is now. The cartoon, of course won’t admit this, but the “Great Sage equal to Heaven” wasn’t always the most respectful, compassionate or heroic being it wants you to believe.
2. The Journey to the west.
Tumblr media
America is relatively new to the Journey to the West classic because for many years only Asian countries knew about this beloved tale, specially the ones where Buddhism is or was the main religion.
What is this famous Chinese novel about? That is a very good question! Simply put, it is about a Buddhist monk, known as the Tripitaka, traveling to the lands of the west to retrieve some sacred scrolls with the help of his three disciples while overcoming various obstacles in their way. Simple enough, but what if I told you those three disciples are actually demons that were punished by the heavens and the obstacles they have to overcome are other demons and monsters that want to eat the Tripitaka? Yes, that is basically what the journey to the west is about.
To me, the book is like watching a cartoon meant for teenagers and young adults, just like any other fairy tale, it has a bunch of adult humor and darker meanings to what we would usually consider something fantastical and kid friendly. It’s like this mixture of dark humor, political satire and religious subtext with fairy tale like elements. The book is really good and ahead of it’s time, I often laugh at Monkey’s quips and how cynical he is through out the story while learning to be a good Buddhist monk. And if you love to watch anime, you’ll find a lot of classic anime tropes in this book because it inspired a lot of mangas.
It also features a lot of cameos and or mentions of characters from other famous Chinese myths such as prince Nezha and Chang’e (FYI they both have their own animated movies on Netflix if you are curious).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nezha being one of the opponents that was sent by the Jade Emperor to fight the Monkey king, but later appears in other chapters to assist the Buddhist group in their journey.
Chang’e, aka the moon goddess, has a brief mention in a character’s origin story before she ended up in the moon. She appears again in a later chapter to stop the Jade Rabbit who got into a fight with the Monkey King after seeking revenge on an Indian princess, long story.
(A fun fact If you watched Over the Moon: turns out the Jade Rabbit not only is white, but is also a female in the book because she wanted to marry the Tripitaka to absorb his life energy or something.)
Tumblr media
So, yeah, Journey to the west is like a Marvel Universe of Chinese stories and I love it!
Another way of seeing the novel is that it is a metaphor for a person overcoming their inner demons to achieve their goal. This is because the monkey king represents the human mind, which explains why he is the powerhouse and the problem solver of the group, he is always the one that has to save Tripitaka and the others from demons because they ignore Monkey’s warnings.
Tumblr media
The other members of the group include a Dragon that shapeshifts into a horse for the Tripitaka to ride on, a Pig demon with a rake named Pigsy who was a former Celestial warrior that was kicked out of Heaven because he was flirting with all the maidens there (including Chang’e), and another former celestial being turned into a demon named Sandy who has the appearance of a big blue monk with yellow eyes, a red beard and what looks like a broken monk staff for a weapon. The Tripitaka represents the human soul or spirit and the horse is the human will, Pigsy represents laziness, lust, and all the bad things that distracts a person on a daily basis, but I’m not sure what Sandy represents, all I know is that he is kind and is the best swimmer of the group, which comes in handy because Wukong can’t fight enemies under water, so he is often portrayed as an aquatic looking creature in some versions.
3. Who is the Monkey king?
The first 6 chapters are dedicated to the Monkey king’s origin, his search to find immortality, his desire to protect his monkey subjects by fighting demons and monsters that want to harm them, how he obtains his golden rod... and his literal war against heaven. Actually, the book is also a political satire because the heavens represent the Chinese government of that time, while the Monkey king represents the human mind that rebels against the system but is ultimately stopped by Buddha himself, reminding us that chaos will reign if there is no order.
Long story short, the monkey king gets a midlife crisis, gets drunk, and fights the natural order until God stops him by dropping a mountain on him.
Tumblr media
I never said he was a good role model.
4. Physical appearance.
For some reason animes and cartoons portray him in two different ways, either he is short and playful, sometimes with a monkey tail, or a somewhat grumpy man covered in hair.
The famous example, of course, being Son Goku from the Dragon Ball franchise since the story was loosely based on the Journey to the West, in fact, Son Goku is how Sun Wukong is known in Japan.
Tumblr media
The Monkey King has been often portrayed as just a monkey wearing human cloths. He has two recognizable outfits, the first one being his “Great sage equal to heaven” outfit, which was a fancy golden armor with yellow and red cloths, a cape, and a funny little gold headpiece decorated with two pheasant tail feathers.
Tumblr media
Which is the design they went with in Monkie Kid.
The second one is his “Pilgrim” outfit, which is only described as a yellow shirt, with a red sash( that is changed to yellow or blue in some versions), a tiger skin from a tiger demon he had previously skinned, pants and shoes of undetermined color, but most importantly, a yellow hat or just the iconic crown like ring on his head.
Tumblr media
It is a common misconception that the ring on his head is a crown, but it is actually what was left of the yellow hat he put on along with his new cloths. The golden ring was created by Guanyin, the goddess of mercy, who told Wukong to join the Tripitaka in his journey, since the monkey king was being difficult, Guanyin gave the monk the cloths and taught him a spell that would subdue the monkey whenever he misbehaves. The spell would make the ring on his head become tighter and give him a powerful headache. The book describes it only as a yellow hat, but some readers would think the Monkey King teared through the hat leaving only the gold lining, thus the iconic golden ring crown was born.
5. Live action Movies and plays.
Tumblr media
In many plays, tv shows and live action movies, Wukong is played by a man with a lot of hair and makeup, this is because the book is not very clear on his physical appearance, he is called a monkey, but many of the things he does are very human like, so no one is sure if his body is that of a real monkey or if it is more human than animal, specially because he is described to be like 4 feet tall, which is too big for a monkey.
The color of his hair is also unclear, some cartoons make it brown because Monkeys are generally associated with that color, but in some Chinese adaptations it is made gold or orange, because he is generally associated with fire.
Many fans and experts have concluded that the Monkey King is based on the Rhesus Macaque, a species of Asian monkey.
Tumblr media
An important detail is that the Rhesus Macaque or monkey would sometimes have red coloring on its face, just like Sun Wukong is described to have a red coloring around his eyes, that’s why many of his portrayals wear red makeup around their eyes.
Tumblr media
However, some people would think the makeup is just for symbolic purposes in plays because the book describes him as having red fiery eyes that can see through demon disguises.
6. Personality.
Personality wise, he is sometimes seen as energetic, naïve, playful, and a bit of a prankster, so he is associated with a child like character.
Tumblr media
He is also seen riding a cloud because he has this technique called the Cloud somersault in which his body becomes almost ethereal, making him light enough to step on a cloud.
The second characterization given to him is that he is grumpy and mean looking, which makes sense, because Sun Wukong is constantly making a tantrum or just frustrated during his journey. Since he represents the human mind, he becomes the most relatable character in the book.
Think of a person who is full of himself, believing every one is beneath him, sees humans like insects, can go to the West and back with the scrolls in a matter of seconds, but has to travel there the old fashion way while having to obey a monk who basically doesn’t allow him to do anything. So naturally, he is depicted as this grumpy, mean rebel who doesn’t care about anyone and is constantly forced to help people he thinks are beneath him, but to me, he is just misunderstood, he is vain, arrogant, impulsive, cynical, a little sadistic, and with a pretty dark sense of humor at times.
Tumblr media
But don’t worry, he is not evil.
Conclusion.
Sun Wukong is one of those irreverent, wisecracking characters that you just gotta love, not only is he super powerful, but he is also clever and emotionally unstable like anyone else.
I’m not joking when I say he feels very real, you might think he is too OP, but he is far from perfect. He is impulsive, he makes mistakes and learns from them, he is sometimes blinded by rage, he can get depressed or discouraged, he feels pain, he even has a drinking problem! You just can’t help empathizing with him, so you are always rooting for him, when he can’t defeat an enemy in battle he has to use his wits to turn the tables.
Some see him as a hero, others as an antagonist with the ultimate redemption arc, characters in the book see him as terrifying and ugly, (which is a recurrent joke in the book because he often calls himself beautiful). Many adaptations will make him noble or just kid friendly, but if you really want to know his character in a deeper level you have to read the books, even if the story doesn’t make any sense sometimes.
A demon, a hero, and ally, or just a Monkey wanting to live a perfect life, one thing is certain, he will always be one of the most beloved and relatable characters in literature history.

🌸 My Hero Academia Light Novel 6 🌸 ✨ Todoizu / Izutodo crumbs ✨ Long Note Version

Midoriya & Todoroki are next to each other in the group cover picture under the cherry blossoms
Chapter 1 - Setsubun School Event
The students are randomly broken into two teams for a Setsubun themed training event and Midoriya & Todoroki end up on opposing teams. Midoriya is on the Momotaro Team (“good guys”) and Todoroki is on the Oni Team with Bakugo (“bad guys” who have Eri as a hostage). The Oni Team can beat the Momotaro Team by hitting them with an oni club, and the Momotaro Team can beat the Oni Team by hitting them with beans.
When Bakugo is struggling to befriend Eri, Shoto reminds Bakugo that Midoriya is close with Eri and suggests that Bakugo should base his behavior on Midoriya (Bakugo gets mad at this idea).
The Momotaro Team is trying to rescue Eri, and Midoriya is with Tsuyu going towards the Oni Team base when suddenly a wall of ice appears before them. Todoroki calls out to Midoriya and slides towards them on ice but Asui manages to grab Midoriya before Todoroki can catch him. Midoriya tells Asui to run ahead without him and she does-- but Todoroki immediately freezes her and then chases after Midoriya. Todoroki makes an ice wall to get Midoriya to slide back towards him and tries to hit him with his club but Midoriya turns back and so tries to get Todoroki out with beans. Fighting seriously for the first time in a while, they smile like kids at each other as the battle heats up, enjoying fighting together. Midoriya later escapes.
Bakugo is still having trouble befriending Eri, so the Oni Team decides to all tell Eri good things about Bakugo. Todoroki thinks for a bit and tells Eri that Bakugo takes all his classes properly and is Midoriya’s childhood friend. Bakugo yells at Todoroki questioning why he included that he’s Midoriya’s childhood friend as something that’s good about him.
Chapter 2 - Valentine’s Day
The girls of 1-A, Bakugo, Midoriya, and Iida are trying to solve the mystery of who the “Prince of 1-A” is after a student from another class left Valentine’s Day chocolate for him without specifying who it was. They run into Todoroki and he’s carrying a big cardboard box so Midoriya asks him about it and Todoroki says it’s filled with chocolate that was sent for him.
Todoroki is confused why people he doesn’t know would send him chocolate, and Midoriya theorizes that it might be from people who saw Todoroki’s TV interview after he got his provisional hero license since that attracted a lot of attention.
Todoroki then remembers something and reaches into his pocket and pulls out two small cheap chocolates and hands them to Midoriya and Iida. Todoroki says he heard from Yaoyorozu that you give chocolate to friends on Valentine’s Day so he got chocolate for Midoriya and Iida.
Midoriya and Iida are super surprised and touched, and Yaoyorozu and the girls watching are also all touched at how pure & wholesome it is. Bakugo is disgusted. Midoriya and Iida then run off to the school store telling Todoroki they’re going to buy him chocolate and Todoroki watches them leave with a soft expression on his face.
Chapter 3 - Snowy Mountain Camping
We learn the students have been staying overnight at their internships a lot, and Kaminari is upset they’re not getting to have fun and relax on their spring break. Midoriya, Todoroki, Bakugo, and Kirishima all come back from their internships to find Kaminari complaining at Sero and Iida in the common room about how they’re not having a fun spring break.
Midoriya agrees with Kaminari that it doesn’t feel like spring break since they’ve been constantly on their internship, but then he quickly turns to Todoroki and thanks him for inviting him to intern with him. Todoroki’s expression softens at Midoriya’s words.
Aizawa overhears them talking and so sends Midoriya, Todoroki, Iida, Bakugo, Kaminari, Sero, and Kirishima to a special new snowy mountain simulation training facility, saying they can go camp there for one night and use it for fun.
Midoriya notices something seems strange with Bakugo, and then Todoroki notices Midoriya staring at Bakugo. Todoroki asks Midoriya what’s wrong and Midoriya says nothing, but later it turns out Bakugo was acting weird because he had a fever.
They split into three groups to set up the campsite, get fish, and get wood to use for fire. Iida and Todoroki are sent to gather wood and while they’re alone Todoroki tells Iida he’s surprised that Iida came on the camping trip instead of catching up on studying that he’s missed during his internship. Iida tells Todoroki that he did think of that, but thought there would be things he could learn camping too, and Iida says the number 1 reason he decided to come camping is because Todoroki and Midoriya were going. Iida says it’s a rare chance to get to go camping with friends and Todoroki agrees-- Midoriya and Iida coming is the main reason Todoroki came camping too.
At dinner they all sit around a campfire and eat fish they caught earlier in the day. Midoriya is sitting next to Todoroki, and Horikoshi drew a two page spread image of this scene!
At dinner Kaminari says Todoroki’s Quirk is valuable on camping trips but Todoroki doesn’t get why. Midoriya then rambles about how Todoroki can use his Quirk for many things camping-- the fire can be used for warmth, cooking, light, and to scare off animals, the ice can be used for water or first aid, and Todoroki could even make & heat a bath! Midoriya tells Todoroki he could camp all by himself. Todoroki responds to this by saying if he goes camping again he wants to go with everyone again. Sero is surprised Todoroki is saying something so cute and brings up Early-Roki.
In the middle of the night their campsite is attacked by a Yeti-like monster (that later turns out to be a UA robot, the whole thing was secretly training from Aizawa). Students disappear one by one and Todoroki goes with Midoriya and Kirishima to see what’s going on.
When fighting the Yeti-robot, Todoroki freezes it in an ice wall and Midoriya is standing fairly close to it, mumbling and trying to figure out a strategy. The Yeti-robot suddenly breaks free from the ice and Midoriya has a bit of a fever so is slow to react to the ice wall breaking and Todoroki yells Midoriya’s name and shoots fire at the Yeti-robot to try and save Midoriya. The Yeti-robot dodges but Midoriya yells Todoroki’s name and manages to punch the Yeti-Robot in the face.
Chapter 4 - Eri’s Training & Shichi-go-san
No crumbs :)
Chapter 5 - Making Hero Promo Videos
Iida, Midoriya, and Todoroki walk & chat together when class 1-A is heading to meet up with the students from the Department of Management
Chapter 6 - Teachers Cherry Blossom Party
No crumbs :)
