Fuck Robert Livingstone. He drove his wife insane and blamed everyone else for the mess it caused. Like Thomas made so many bad calls but he was always invested in cultivating the potential of those he loved. Robert just used people to build his own ego. He screwed with Catherine's head and she poisoned Gordo against the wolves. THEN he decides he's "grown fond" of Robbie, but is doing the exact same shit. What a sociopathic piece of shit .

Just thinking about Riku's part of dearly beloved quietly tinkling in the background of The End of the World, which is probably his heart calling out to Sora. It's the softest, saddest touch to an already beautiful and haunting piece of music, one of my favourite in the whole series.
I don't think people give enough credit to kh 1's subtly and atmosphere sometimes.

Sora was humming along with the world’s song, his arms crossed behind his head as he walked beside Riku.
Sora turned to Riku, and a thought popped into his mind. “I wanna hear our song,” Sora blurted out.
Beside Sora, Riku glanced at him with slightly wide eyes before looking away. “Our what?”
Sora tipped his head back to gaze at the clouds in passing. “Our heart song. You know—” And Sora hummed the four beats.
Riku started to say something, but he cut himself off. “…We…would have to go back to that world—“
Sora got his head out of the clouds to hop in front of Riku, so Riku would listen to Sora’s next words. “No we don’t! We could do it right now! We’ve done it before.”
Riku at least seemed to be listening, if not completely taking Sora seriously. “Do what?”
Sora felt himself pout, but couldn’t reign it in to make his face match his clenched fists. “You know. Just listen.”
Riku didn’t seem to want to do it. Sora assumed maybe Riku felt silly about the idea.
So Sora led the way the best way he knew. “Look! I’ll start. Just follow my lead.” And Sora made a big show of taking a deep breath, closing his eyes, putting a hand to his heart, and waiting.
In the quiet of the world’s song, Sora heard Riku make a tiny sound of laughter under his breath, but Sora refused to break his concentration for the sake of talking back.
A few moments passed, and Sora heard nothing different. The music of the world they were currently in continued to play, and Sora felt himself pout again.
He broke and opened his eyes, determined to give Riku a piece of his mind for not helping.
But Riku had copied Sora’s pose to a T. His eyes were closed and relaxed. Sora didn’t see a single flutter or twitch in Riku’s lashes. There wasn’t any lingering tease on Riku’s lips (Sora watched them for a long while to make sure). And Riku’s hand rested gently on his chest, his fingertips brushing right over his heart. He had followed Sora’s lead.
Riku suddenly smiled, before opening his eyes in surprise. “Sora, I hear it!” he whispered, looking to Sora, as if to make sure.
“Hm.”
Riku’s head tilted, as did his eyebrows as he gave Sora a look of mild confusion. “…Do you hear it, now?”
“Hm?”
Riku smiled for some reason, and the notes finally became strong enough to snap Sora out of whatever doze he’d been slipping into.
“Wha—? Oh! Yeah! I hear it!” Sora laughed and looked to the clouds again. But even with the song, they no longer held his attention like before.
Sora found his gaze falling back to Riku, who had also turned to the clouds. He had followed Sora’s lead.
Sora felt himself smile, and the notes of their song chimed softly for the rest of their walk.

Edit: gah i left this draft untouched so i forgot to "explain" that the reason riku could hear dearly beloved in that moment was bc sora was being full on in love with riku when he realized riku was genuinely trying to do as sora asked, and when riku was just being in love with sora being sora, hence the smile, sora could hear the song as well. Basically, when they're mutually just. Sap mode, lol

2. when in canon does your self insert come in? do you have a scene in mind for your entrance?
So I think both Ruby and Evie come around somewhere after the second movie! Evie (originally a pop troll) explores more with rock a lot more, and Ruby(the country troll) ends up enjoying pop a lot more than she thought she would. As for scenes, I really only have Ruby’s knocked out so far whoops I think it would go something like this:
The trolls of Lonesome Flats are out and about and mingling with some new faces — and some not-so-new faces— in town who might be curious to learn more about Country music. Delta Dawn gets the musical ball rolling and during some sort of Country Cover Mashup™️ with everyone, and eventually Ruby and Hickory end up dancing into each other. :3
3. how do the other characters generally feel about your self insert?
I think they would feel pretty comfortable and chill with her! Ruby is the kind of troll you can tell your problems to if you just need to sing or yell or yodel your feelings out. People trust her pretty readily!
Though, I see Ruby specializing in singing murder ballads (for no reason other than most of the country music I listen to are murder ballads LMAO)— many of which fall in that realm of “the backing music: 😊💕☀️🌼 / the lyrics: 😭💀😱😧” vibe— so the second someone catches on to whatever she’s singing, they’re just like:
“… Oh! :)”
9. who are your self insert’s closest friends?
Ruby I think would be close with Delta Dawn and after some time, Dickory.
I see Ruby and Delta being childhood friends; growing up, chasing tumbleweeds and singing about ✨death✨ together. You know, 🌻just country troll things~🌻 LMAO
Dickory definitely takes time to warm up to this new Country troll his brother is constantly bringing around, but when the two exchange stories and Ruby starts to express genuine interest in learning more about yodeling and wanting lessons, Dickory is cool with her. :3
