lay down your head
a very small din djarin x gn! reader sickfic . reader,,, works with mando? is hired by him? live-in employee. idk. the razor crest still exists. handwavey in terms of chronology.
__
an: because i have a shitty cold / fever / idk right now. so i daydream about how din djarin would take care of someone. me. us. whatever.
warnings: fluff. the mortifying ideal of being vulnerable with your colleagues/friends/crushes. no use of pronouns other than "you/your" and no y/n.
feat. trying to debunk the theory that being in the rain/being in somewhat cold weather will make you sick, one fic at a time. (hypothermia is real, catching a cold/the flu from being in the cold is not.)
wc: 1.3k words of 11pm feverish delirium.
__
It starts as a funny feeling behind your nose. As the day goes on, it spreads down to the back of your throat. Then there's the melancholy dawn of a dull headache and your joints start to hurt more than they usually do.
You're helping Mando carry a bounty back to the Crest at around three in the morning, Coruscant time, and suddenly it's ridiculously difficult.
The bounty is a fairly waiflike Twi'lek, so you're not sure why you're struggling. He could carry her on his own, sure, but you've watched him move enough that you can tell he's got back problems, so you try to help him carry heavy or awkwardly shaped things.
This Twi'lek in her hoop-skirted Opera-Concert-Goer finery definitely counts as the latter.
You watch him a lot.
The way he moves, how he interacts with his child, his prowess in combat. His proficiency with weapons gets you hot under the collar, sometimes.
But he's gruff and quite reserved, and you've taught yourself not to expect anything from this arrangement the two of you have. You haven't touched him before - not even to shake his hand.
When you trip over your own feet and the bounty goes lurching toward the floor, the Mandalorian pauses and glances at you with what you think might be annoyance.
But you can't see his face, obviously, and you sort of can't see full-stop in this dark alley, so it's anyone's guess.
By the time you get back to the Crest, your eyes burn with the effort of keeping them open. You don't want to be a liability, so you keep your head straight and you don't show any sign of weakness.
Once the bounty is frozen in carbonite, Mando climbs up the ladder, Grogu gurgling happily in his satchel. He doesn't seem to have noticed anything's really wrong with you, which is a relief. As soon as his boots disappear into the cockpit, you slump down to the floor.
Mando doesn't need a co-pilot - you're often down here during take-off anyway, tidying or putting your weapons away.
You value your alone time as much as he does, which is nice. He never pries when you need some time away from him and his little green kid.
You ache all over and you're shivering, but at least he can't see you. You're so tired that you fall asleep with your head resting against the weapon cupboard's door.
.
After he gets the Crest out of Coruscant's atmosphere and into hyperspace, Din lets Grogu play with a very small selection of the control panel that will not have drastic effects on the ship.
It takes a while, but the child's movements grow lethargic, and soon enough, he's asleep in Din's arms.
Din places him gently into his mobile cot so as to not wake him by taking him down the ladder, and realises he hasn't heard you move in over an hour.
Which is somewhat alarming - you take turns in the cot in the hull, and since Din can sleep in the pilot's chair, he figured you'd sleep there.
But he never heard the cot door depressurize and slam open, nor did he hear you pottering around like he usually does.
So he makes his way down the ladder, and he's bewildered by what he sees.
You're slumped on the ground, neck bent at an uncomfortable angle against the cupboard. You're breathing through your mouth a little raggedly, so fast you're almost panting, and there is a trickle of mucus coming out of your nose. Your hands twitch where they're draped across your torso, and your skin looks dull.
His heartrate skyrockets - he's a seasoned warrior and you're just his employee, so it probably shouldn't - and he moves over to you instantly.
Before he can think, he turns on the thermal view on his helmet, and sees that your head is hotter than the human head usually appears. So is your whole body.
He flicks it back to normal as he crouches next to you.
"Hey, wake up," he mutters.
He reaches out a hand to touch your shoulder, but he stops. He hasn't touched you before. Not intentionally. He wonders if you'd mind.
He thinks about it more and more each day.
Touching you.
Holding your hand, standing shoulder to shoulder, stroking your face.
Pressing your foreheads together in the way of his people, even if it's through his helmet.
But this is to make sure you're okay; it's different, so he reaches out and gently shakes you by one shoulder.
"Hey, you need to wake up," he murmurs.
You grunt, and your voice sounds like the rumble of footsteps over gravel.
"Can you open your eyes for me?"
Your eyelashes are a little crusted together, but you manage to open them. Your stare is vacant.
Din starts to panic.
"Did someone poison you? Did you eat something bad? Are you alright?"
You give him a sleepy chuckle, and your eyes close again, which is not helpful.
"Hey." He says with the sort of no-nonsense tone he uses with the child.
You blink. "What?"
"Did you get poisoned? Or spiked?"
"'M fine, Mando."
"You're not."
You huff, which sets you into a fit of coughing.
"What's wrong?" He asks.
You look at him with those bright, bloodshot eyes. You sniff and blink a few more times, blearily. It's silly, because he's really worried there's something wrong with you, but the open, sleepy expression on your face fills him with affection.
"Sweetheart, please."
You smile just barely. "Really, 'm fine. Just'a cold," you mumble.
"How would you have gotten a cold? The rain yesterday?" Din starts to spiral; he's supposed to protect you, whether he's ever expressed that to you or not, and now you're sick-
"Prob'ly that club a few days ago. Lots'a people. Confined space. No ventilation. Wonder why you didn't get sick."
"My helmet filters out most toxins and germs." He says.
You reach out and fiddle with the edge of one of the pouches strapped around his calf. "Lucky boy," you say, grinning dazedly.
You look incredibly unwell, but you're touching him, joking around with him. His heart pounds.
Then you groan and put your hand to your head, and he's whirled into action again.
.
The next half hour is hard to remember in full detail. You're so tired.
These are the glimpses you're conscious enough for:
Mando lifts you up, even with his bad back, and sits you up properly. He gets painkillers from the 'fresher, which you try to refuse, but he practically force-feeds them to you. He gives you his water canteen and tells you to take twenty sips of it.
He holds a cloth to your nose and tells you to blow your nose into his hand, which is mortifying, but you're too dazed to do otherwise.
He uses a cold, damp cloth to wipe your face and neck down, which makes your skin erupt in goosebumps.
"Too cold," you grumble.
"Almost done, baby."
The heat that rushes through you at the sound of his gruff, modulated voice calling you 'baby' almost cures your chills for a second.
"Can I hold you?" the Mandalorian asks softly.
If you were awake, you'd freak out about this ridiculously attractive and emotionally distant man making an offer like that, but being held just sounds nice right now, so you whisper, "Yeah."
Next thing you know, the battle-hardened, ruthless Mandalorian bounty hunter is sitting behind you, one arm around your torso, the other stroking your forehead.
You're in between his legs, your back against his chest.
This is not how you thought your recovery from illness would go.
You find you don't have any reason to complain.
His armour's a little cold, and it shocks you at first, but once your feverish body heat warms it up, it's soothing. He smells good - beskar doesn't have that tangy scent so many metals have; it's cleaner, earthier. He smells warm, inviting, human.
You like this Mandalorian. Quite a lot, as Mandalorians go. And just as a person in general.
He chuckles; a deep, comforting rumble that you feel in your back ribcage before you hear it.
"What're you laughin' at?" you mumble, burrowing the side of your head into his chest
Another shorter, breathy chuckle. "What you just said."
Oops. "Didn't mean t' say that. Out loud, I mean."
"I'll forget I heard it."
"No you won't. You remember everything."
The chin of his helmet rests gently against the crown of your head, and he takes a deep breath in.
"Sleep, cyare. I've got you."

Slashers when you say “I love you” for the first time
Jason Voorhees
He freezes up and disappears for a while. But don’t interpret that as rejection, please. He is just utterly overwhelmed by the idea that anyone not blood-related to him could ever actually *love* him.
You, of course, are left confused and maybe a little heartbroken by that reaction. Did you do phrase it wrong? Was it too soon? Does he just not feel the same?
He returns a little while later, once he had a moment to process it, and immediately sweeps you up into a backbreaking hug. Good luck getting anything done for the rest of the day, because he won’t let go. Are you hallucinating or is there water dripping from under his mask?
Vincent Sinclair
Vincent knows just enough about love and romance by watching people getting caught in Bo’s charming web, so he sees the signs in the way you are acting around him. Still, when you finally gather all of your courage and confess your feelings to him, he pauses, surprised by how open you are about it.
When you want to start listing all the things you love about him, he takes your hand to stop you, and you see the expressionless mask shift as the mouth underneath curls into a gentle smile.
“So does that mean you feel the same?”, you ask softly.
In lieu of an answer, he gets out a sketchbook that has obviously been recently used, and hands it to you.
You flip through it and find it almost entirely filled with sketches of you, each sketch coming with little notes meant to draw attention to all the little things he loves about you; and there is a lot, from the way your eyes light up when you smile, to the shape of each of your facial features, to decidedly more intimate details.
“Aw man, that makes my confession look kinda lackluster in comparison”, you quip sheepishly and hand the sketchbook back to him.
Freddy Krueger
Be prepared for him to turn it into a joke. “Of course you love me. Look at me. I’m amazing.”
You roll your eyes. “I’m serious!”
“Hi Serious, I’m Freddy.”
“Really? A dad joke?”
“So why are you coming out with this now of all times?”
You open your mouth and close it again a few times. “I don’t know? I just felt like it was about time one of us say something like that?”
“Eh, talk is cheap. The fact that we’re putting up with each other is already enough of a love confession, don’t you think? And that’s way better than all that corny stuff about eternal love or whatever.”
You chuckle, despite being still sort of frustrated at him blowing you off like that. “If you say so.”
Bubba Sawyer
Bubba drops his chainsaw as soon as the words leave your mouth. He looks at you, nervously licking his lips, then clumsily tries to pick the saw up again. The sudden confession has his hands so jittery that he is really struggling though, so you eventually crouch down and pick it up for him.
“Sorry for just saying that out of the blue.” You hand his weapon back to him. “I guess I just… want you to know.”
Now *you* are the one dropping the chainsaw, mostly because you find yourself a foot or so in the air, held up by the vice-like grip of Bubba, who is pressing you against his chest and happily blubbering what you generously interpret as a reciprocation of the confession into your shoulder. Sometimes you really wished you could understand Bubba as well as Drayton did. But then again.. a loving gesture like this doesn’t really need words.
Brahms Heelshire
Self-absorbed as he is, he naturally assumes that you love him, so he doesn’t act too surprised when you tell him as much. Instead, he pulls you into a hug and replies:“And I love you.”
However, the fact that he expected it doesn’t mean that he takes it for granted. In his mind, the love confession is what actually begins a relationship. That’s how it works in stories, after all, and stories were the only real window to the outside world he has had since he was eight. Meaning that now, he views you officially as his significant other, rather than just a caretaker he just so happened to kiss and have the occasional fling with. Which also means that he at least tries to do a bit more for you instead of only ever taking.
The first results of his attempts at being helpful are disastrous, but hey, it’s the thought that counts, right?

SO I JUST THOUGHT OF THIS IM SORRY IF IRS REALLY RANDOM BUT IF ITS OK COULD I REQUEST TICCI TOBY,MASKY,HOODIE,EJ WITH A TEEN!READER like Darwin from the amazing world of gumball
Darwin is such a silly guy omg <33
Thank you so much for requesting!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Toby
Tumblr media
Honestly he's just glad you aren't as scary as some of the other children in the manor
Most, if not all of the children that live in the manor are there because there was quite literally no other choice for them
They come from such bad homes with such bad caretakers, it's not shocking that most of them have learned to protect themselves by any means necessary
So while Toby understands, holy shit do they scare him <//3
So seeing a kid that is allowed to still just be a kid makes him happy
He finds you quite fun to be around
He loves hearing you get excited with the things you're passionate about
And he loves how silly you can be!
You are one of the easiest kids to talk to, so he uses you for intel on the other children for things such as gifts for the holidays
He's also thankful that you are so truthful and don't like breaking the rules
It really helps lower the stress levels in the house
Masky
Tumblr media
You're a good kid
That's about the extent of his opinion on you
He likes that you're a goody two-shoes, because it makes his job as the "secondary dad" of the manor waaay easier
First dad being slender
"Alright, which one of you spilled water on the carpet" tim asks, eying the two children sitting in front of him
"Im sorry! It was me, i didn't mean it, i swear it was i mistake!" You blurt out fearfully, hoping to not get in trouble
"Woah, relax kid, it's just water. We can clean it up easily"
He's also glad that you're one less kid he'll have to worry about sneaking out, running away, or getting in general trouble
Other than that, you guys don't really have a relationship
You might talk from time to time, and he'll be there for fatherly support and comfort
But that's about it
Hoodie
Tumblr media
He's not exactly the greatest with kids
He doesn't dislike them, but he isn't really a kid guy
He can handle teens though, and with you being such an easy kid to handle, you manage to make his good list
If he sees you around, he'll wave, he'll get you things that remind him of you, and he's generally just more tolerant of you
Like if any of the other kids asked him to make them breakfast, he'd probably be like "oooh i actually juuuust started cleaning up sorry"
But if you or sally asked him to he'd be like "omg of course, you little angels 🥰"
Like tim, you won't really have a relationship outside of him just being more tolerant of you
He's considered the cooler uncle, and sometimes a big brother amongst the kids so he won't be able to provide the fatherly comfort that Tim does
But he CAN provide some brotherly shoulder pats or cool uncle McDonald's
And maybe, just maaaaaybe a hug every now and then
Eyeless Jack
Tumblr media
Ej finds children quite bothersome
They get in the way of his work, they are noisy and they are messy
Three things he will not tolerate
But he was very pleasantly surprised with you
He doesn't mind teenagers as much, as they are much less noisy and messy than younger children, but he does have his issues with teenagers as well
But while you are sitting on his medical bed, waiting for a bandaid for your cut arm, you are actually very pleasent to be around
You came in in a bit of a panic, fearing your arm might be permanently damaged, but you were able to calm down as Ej took the time to explain that you were ok, as well as walking you through everything he was doing
You were very nice and quiet, and quite polite actually
You are a good kid in Ej's books
When he sees you around the manor, he makes a point to show at least some sort of sign of polite recognition to you, instead of just walking past with a blank expression
Whether it be a small smile, a nod, or a wave, just something to let you know that he thinks you are ok
Espcially with how anxious you seem to get, he knows that it will likely help you to know he doesn't hate you
I really love your Selkie!Soap au. Maybe Ghost could discover a bit more about Selkie culture, and the generational trauma that Soap might have?
YES!! Love this! Direct continuation of the previous post
Ghost brought Soap a deer. Soap stared at it for a minute before laughing. "What do we do now?"
Ghost hummed. "I'll clean it and cook it for you." And you'll fall in love with me.
"I see." Soap smiled. "Need any help?"
"No, I got it. It's bloody work but if you want sit with me..."
So they sat together in the little shed, both mostly quiet but the radio was playing. Soap watched him work and Ghost tried not to glance at him too often. He wore a surgical mask but that was more for cleanliness than anything else.
They ate well, both of them sitting next to each other as the sun set.
Soap ended up stealing some of Ghost's off his plate despite there being plenty of food still in the kitchen but it was fine. He glared at Soap who only smiled at him.
A ringtone sounded and Soap froze. It sounded like a personal one.
Ghost didn't move for a moment, waiting for Soap to pick it up. Soap just stared for a minute, picking at the food for a second before remembering himself and answering.
"Hey, dad."
Ghost perked up immediately. He had heard next to nothing about Soap's dad. He wondered if he was a selkie too. Or something else.
"Yes, sir. I am on leave, but my..." There was a pause before Soap swallowed. "My coat holder commanded I come with him."
Ghost frowned a little, but he stayed quiet.
"Yes. It's new. I haven't had... Yes, sir." Soap was visibly wilting. "I am... He's commanding me back. Sorry, sir." He hung up after a second and quietly put his phone down.
"I take it your dad is not... good?"
"No. I hope you two never have to talk, but its best he doesn't know we're close." Soap rubbed his arm, looking tiny and cold. Ghost scooted closer.
"Are you alright?"
"It's how he always is. He was excited someone has my coat again. That I'm at your mercy. He's a fucking prick." Soap looked down. "My mom can't leave him or else I'd never talk to him again."
"He... has her coat?"
"Yeah. I tried to find it. Took a couple slaps for it. But I never could. Swear I tore that place apart looking."
Ghost pulled Soap closer. "I see."
"He's such a bawbag."
"Is she the only selkie you know?"
"No. I know a few. All of them are like her. Trapped in their positions. Either as a spouse or caretaker or worker or..." Soap sighed. "No choice. No control. Stuck until either the coatholder dies or we get lucky."
Ghost was quiet for a while before reaching over and pulling him closer. "You... want this, right?"
"I do. Don't worry. You gave it back. You're a good man." He leaned into him. "My sister got lucky. She's just human. My other sister is a selkie but dad... protects her a little more. I think it's because she's the baby."
"Coatholder. Is that what you guys call them?"
"Not the most creative name, but yeah. Gets the message across. For a while Master was used but... yeah, it felt just a little too degrading." Soap hummed and shoved the plate towards him. "He'll want to meet you. I can try to lie and keep you from him. I don't... I don't want him to know it's my choice. If he knows..." Soap started to breath heavier, holding on to Ghost.
"Johnny, you're okay. He can't do anything to you."
"It's not me I'm worried about." Soap said softly. "If he gets upset he takes it on her and..."
Ghost winced. This entire situation reminding him just a little too much of his own time growing up. "If your mom had left your dad, would you have grown up a seal?"
"No. She likely would've abandoned me." Soap answered honestly. "It sucks but that's reality. I would've been left with him and my sisters. Can't blame her. She didn't choose to have me."
Ghost frowned and gently touched his chin, making him look at him. He smiled awkwardly. "You know when I came back from the military, the first thing I did was wait in my mom's kitchen."
"Why?"
"For my dad to hit her. He did eventually. He always did. It was all the excuse I need. I dragged him outside and beat him to hell for it."
Soap looked surprised. "Damn."
"Mom kicked me out for it. But she didn't let him back in the house either and that's all that mattered to me." Ghost took a deep breath. "I should meet your dad."
"Simon. You can't beat up my dad."
"I could, but I just think I should meet him. I want to meet your mom too."
Soap didn't look convinced but he nodded. "Alright, Si. Alright." He kissed his hand gently, looking tired. "Mind if we go to bed?"
Ghost hummed. "Course not. I'll see you in the morning."
"I'll be in the spare room, of course." Soap smiled at him, a hint of teasing there.
Ghost followed him like a shadow until he got to his door and then went to his own room.
Once he was in bed, he stared up at the ceiling quietly. He thought of Soap's mom, the gentle voice on the phone and how Soap shrank back.
It must be hard. Trusting Ghost of all people with so much. Even now, the thought occurred to him that it wouldn't be very hard for him to take the coat back. Or even just hurt him. They were alone in the middle of the woods.
And Soap still trusted him.
If it was anyone else, he'd call them an idiot for trusting the Ghost, but he knew as well as Johnny did that Ghost was harmless to him.
Did those other selkies think their human was harmless? Was their first meeting them taking the coat? Demanding so much from them?
Someone had done this before. Soap had mentioned someone had taken it before. On purpose. Had they hurt him? Forced him to do anything?
The idea of a younger Soap being controlled the way Ghost had read about in those stories made him feel sick.
He got up at some point and like the needle on a compass, he pointed towards his north star.
Soap was probably asleep. He also used the spare for a reason. Ghost shouldn't bother him. There were boundaries for a reason.
Soap's sad eyes popped back into his head. The distant look when he talked about the past or the others he knew.
He didn't knock in case he was asleep.
Soap jerked up immediately. "Jesus, Ghost you scared me. Something wrong?"
"Scoot over."
"What?"
"Scoot over." Ghost repeated, staring at him. Both their eyes reflected the light, both finding each other easily.
Once Soap did move over, Ghost climbed in with him. He pulled him safely to his chest and held him.
"No one is ever going to touch you again." Ghost mumbled into his hair. "I'm never going to let something like that happen to you again."
"You don't even know what they did." Soap knew exactly what Ghost was talking about, like always.
"Doesn't matter." Ghost squeezed him. "Never again."
Soap let Ghost hold him, putting his head on Ghost's shoulder. "Get some sleep, Simon. I know you must be tired."
Ghost slept better knowing Soap was safe with him.
Last Twilight Ep 8 Stray Thoughts
Last week, Day wasn't ready to receive Mhok's feelings, but Mhok appreciated that Day didn't want him to stop being his caretaker. Mhok spent the entire episode toeing the line on flirting. Porjai and Night were also flirting at the race, but Night didn't want Day to know he was there. Day accepted Mhok as his boyfriend at the end of the race after clearing up a misunderstanding about a job offer for Mhok. Aon proposed to his girlfriend, but Day is losing the remainder of his sight.
Am I supposed to read something into Day wearing a shirt that says "flat object"?
I know we have health drama soon, but they better go to this wedding.
Damn, doc, you're not describing a terminal condition. I'll chalk that up to translation. Still, it's noticeable that Day didn't crumble immediately.
Now, Day, you gotta tell us what's the beef with your brother that you would skip the wedding just to spite him.
Mhok got couple keychains already. My goodness.
I am with Mhok. It is so awkward being around these two brothers.
I had considered how's Day's former vision would factor into dreaming and memory. Not surprised it's something he's sore about.
Night is observant, of course. He knew they were going to ditch him. I need to know what happened with these brothers.
Interesting. Day's dad is alive. He's also not originally from Bangkok, but didn't want to say where he's from. I remember seeing a post yesterday where I think @bunnakit maybe said that he omits Night from this backstory in a curious way.
Okay, gently moving Day's hand to rest on his lips was such a great way to generate the breath and anticipation between characters silently communicating that they both want to kiss. Good job, BL.
Waking up on a beach is so uncomfortable.
Oh this took a turn. Not sure I like these pranks either pulled.
I gotta find gifs of Day caressing Mhok's leg.
I really like their outfits for the wedding.
I like the book giving as a wedding tradition.
So glad I know this song is sung by Satang. Recognizing his voice but not being able to place the song would have bugged me yesterday.
These mofos really playing Shazam in the middle of the show so we can go look the song up.
What is this dad jump scare at the end??
Next week looks fun.
I didn't like the teasing on the beach much, but I guess it's a reminder that these guys are recovering assholes. The wedding scenes were beautiful, and I really like the way Jimmy plays Mhok being enamored with Day alongside Sea's winning smile.
Meet Snowflake!
[E.L.A oc's go brrrr-..]
Tumblr media
[I haven't introduced her yet so- I'm doing it now. This is her official design because I wasn't sure about the old one-]
Basic information:
Snowflake is Albedo's adopted daughter, who apparently can control winter. But she can't control her ice power very well, which results in little accidents to happen often. Hope is training her.
She's 18 years old, a month younger than Lux, 5'6 ft tall and enjoys reading Marvel comics.
Snow is a menace to society/aff
She is Lux's non-blood related long lost twin/j/nsrs
Snowflake is a descendant of Quetzalcoatl, the deity of war. Corr.Nightmare tried to kill her once he found out about her existence. The girl fought back as best she could but was quickly overpowered. Luckily she was saved from "an mysterious winged lady".
Now Snowflake is striving to control her power better and learn more about her ancestor.
(Fun fact: Her real name is Estelle. Snowflake is just a nickname.)
Origins:
It's unknown who her parents are or where they are. But Snow never bothered to find that out.
"They abandoned me, whoever they are. Valid reason or not, I'm better off without them right? I'm sure they must've thought the same. My life is fine as it is, I already have an amazing adoptive father."
Snowflake is actually a part of Quetzalcoatl's soul, his will. All those years ago when he died, a part of him refused to give up. He refused to succumb to the fatal wounds. He refused to let his kingdom fall in the hands of his enemy.
So that strong determination caused a part of his soul to separate from it's owner. It reincarnated as different people over the years, while Quetzalcoatl wandered the earth as a spirit.
Now, Snowflake is the current reincarnation.
Only when Corr.Nightmare gets killed and the kingdom is free, Quetzalcoatl will finally rest and his will shall return to him.
Abilities:
-Summoning weapons made out of ice.
-Manipulating the weather.
-Control over ice in general.
-Can survive just fine in extremely cold temperatures.
-Can sense and distinguish people's different auras, including the dead's. (But she can't see the dead, which makes it difficult to guess who it is. She can find out from the aura alone if the spirit is a threat or not.)
-Can create snow giants and creatures.
[Will be updated.]
Her opinion on the people she knows:
-Albedo.
"We met when I tried to run away from the orphanage. Then as I went further and further away, I bumped into him. He asked me why was I crying, and he comforted me. He took me back to the orphanage and on the way we were talking and getting along. When we arrived, he told the caretaker he wanted to adopt me. Much to my own surprise. Now here we are. He's actually a very supportive dad, the kind of dad everyone would want, to be honest. No matter what, he always thinks about me first. He comforted me when I cried, defended me on arguments, never turned a blind eye on me, and even gives great advice. He is the reason I'm happy."
-Cross.
"That baker my dad likes so much. His pastries are awesome! He's a nice guy, really. I genuinely think him and Albedo would make a good couple, I mean- Have you seen the way they look at eachother?? They NEED to get together already, I swear to god-"
-Dream.
"I love and respect uncle, but- Someone needs to teach him how to be less oblivious of your surroundings. He's blind when it comes to love, and I can tell he would be an easy target to manipulate..- I noticed he looks down sometimes, maybe because of his marriage?"
-Ink.
"The second most beautiful woman? Her? Are you kidding me? Ink is nice and all but not only does her sense in fashion suck, she's also kinda dumb. I'm just being honest! She's a mother, a grown ass woman, yet she's almost never by her husband's or kids' side, or anywhere near the castle. I swear I saw her in a bar drinking once. No, twice. That second time there was a strange man with her. I just kept walking to avoid being seen by her."
-Palette.
"We only really meet when uncle Dream invites me and dad over. Sometimes we talk. Lux told me he used to bully her and frame her for things she didn't do when they were younger. Even now, he's doing some pretty bad stuff. But he looks..Well. Miserable. I almost feel bad for him sometimes. Maybe he is getting his stress out on her? Anywho I can only suggest one thing for him: Therapy. And I will drag him there by the feet if I have to."
-Lux.
"We're complete polar opposites, and still get along just fine. I can't help but see her like a sister I never had. She's got everything! Is a princess, does nice things, is rich and lucky in lottery, has amazing dresses, has a handsome fiancée, is famous and all, and she's very pretty! Like, damn!- I think she really deserves all those. I'm glad she's not like those corrupt rich people, she actually donates to charities and orphanages. I look up to her a lot. In fact, I want to be like her."
-Hope.
"Miss Hope is the one training me and Lux's fiancée. They are so skilled..! It's hard to keep up with them sometimes during sparring. They've beat me countless times.. But I won't give up there! No way in hell. This is to get revenge on that bastard for nearly murdering me.."
-Merciless.
"Him and Lux seem perfect, to be honest. We get along very well. I've read almost all the books he wrote. He's like an older brother to me. Apparently, he wants to be a wizard. He's trying to make fire, like Miss Hope. Though..once I accidentally froze him- I don't understand how it happened, I was just patting his shoulder and then BAM! Thank god we had Miss Hope and their fire. I apologized so much that day..I'm still embarrassed."
-Angst.
"..I've heard about that guy. Isn't that the one that can see spirits? I think he could help me, something with a powerful aura has been following me around for days on end and I need answers."
-Artemis.
"She's that famous singer, and Merciless' little sister. Not gonna lie, she makes amazing music..I listen to it all the time. Some of her songs are calming and perfect for reading. She's also Palette's best friend. I think these two are in love, even their fans are making rumors about them being together-"
-Goth.
"She used to make fun of me and bother me at every chance she got. Along with that group of fans- Until..well, I snapped one day. I caused a snow storm, since I felt overwhelmed. It blew everyone away but her. I think I shoved her away after that, but then realized I didn't die. At first I thought 'Maybe it's my power', until I found out from Idiotka that a grim reaper's soulmate doesn't die from their touch. ..Nothing is confirmed yet. Because apparently Lux and Palette didn't die from Goth's touch either. This situation is very confusing. Anyways, we became friends in hopes of finding out. All we do is hang out and gossip about every single thing we can think of. It's actually nice being around Idiotka.."
-Corr.Nightmare/Alphonse.
"Can you believe Artemis speaks good about a moron like that? He clearly didn't think twice before deciding to attempt murdering a little girl, so why should I feel sympathy for a tyrant? I still remember his face... ... He scares me. What if I fail to kill him?"
-Killer.
"I don't believe she chose to marry him on her own will. What kind of psycho would?? I feel bad for her. She's very pretty too."
-Crescent.
"Isn't that the priest in that one church..? I dunno, I'm not religious. So I don't visit churches at all. But his face reminds me so much of that bastard.."
-Quetzalcoatl.
"My ancestor! I'm gonna call him grandpa, it's easier. Man, I wish I could meet him.. Idiotka took me to this secret library and I've been studying about his history. I have to say, I admire him even more now. As I read all those history books, I pictured the sceneries of the old kingdom in my head. For some reason, everything described there feels so familiar.."
Fun facts:
-She's allergic to chocolate, so she is always eating fruit pastries or vanilla. She found that out when she once tried chocolate cake in Cross' café.
-Snowflake is a fan of horror games and movies, even playing with Goth sometimes.
-She never really had real friends until she met Goth. Snow only had a small group of online friends.
-Albedo's nickname for her is "Tuna", which Snow is always complaining about.
-Snowflake always wondered about the identity of the winged woman who saved her that day. She wishes to thank her.
-She has a true/guardian form <3
-She is the key to Surprise Ending in Sunflower AU.
[If she interacts with Angst and Angst decides to tell her about the timelines, the two of them will try to make Cross and Hope tell the truth to everyone and the game will end.]
Evil Lux AU and all the characters made by @anotherrosesthatfell <33
Snowflake belongs to me.
I will also talk about Tyler because he's also not normal about stuff 🫠
Right from the start you get these signs he's protective to a detrimental level lol
Tumblr media
(BTW Aidlyn scene cuz I'm not normal about them ❤️ The way he literally wraps his whole body in front of her sent me lmao. Mans got his leg around her and everything 🤡)
He's pretty much like this with Taylor in all their scenes. In the Sorrel House he puts his arm in front of her when they see the phantom (that he does not think is real, considering his reaction).
He also has a tendency to drag Taylor away from situations with out asking for her opinion on it 🫠 He just kinda assumes she will want to go with him. Like when he drags her out of the house after saying the phantom was just a prank.
Sir. PLEASE. Kinda possessive of you-
Tumblr media
I don't think Red did this on purpose because like. She hasnt really brought up their culture/heritage or anything in the story so far lmao (I'm crying). But idk like just this behavior reminds me a lot of the guys in my family 🙃 I think Latino boys get kind of socialized to be more aggressive and protective of their families at their own expense. He definitely seems like the kind of brother to impose a curfew- He has control issues like. We all see it right? He's a control freak.
Obviously his dad dying has a lot to do with this. His mother took it extremely hard, so then Tyler "stepped up" to take care of both his mom AND his sister, he's been parentified since a very young age (he doesn't look older than 10 imo). I think he feels a need to "be the man of the house" so to speak. He genuinely does not seem to have any hard feelings towards his mom even tho she...you know, fucked up. if any of you know the "latino boys are mama boys" cliche, but.
yeah.
(I do think Taylor has more mom issues because she kinda resents how Tyler has been parentified and she's allowed herself to be angry at their mom for leaving them to fend for themselves)
Tumblr media
Sidenote: It looks like his family is very isolated. Like, its strange that nobody came to help Marianna after Ethan died. This isn't always the case but usually Latinos have large families (my mom's family had to push together eight beds so all the cousins could sleep in one room lol) WHICH probably means Tyler's branch of the family is, so far, the first and only to have immigrated to the US. He's probably already a second or third generation tho, his mom has only one surname and he and his sister never seem to speak Spanish, so I don't think they learned it (probably some basics). I don't imagine they've ever been to Mexico except MAYBE when they were very young (its kinda rare to visit...since...it's so hard to get out of there in the first place...🫠 I dont think my parents have been to Venezuela in more than 20 years...but also Venezuela is in way worse condition, so...)
But yeah like. His protectiveness of Taylor is something that actively works against her and something she dislikes. She always looks upset when he drags her out of a situation or tells her what to do. She just wants to help :(
BABYYYYY 🥲
Tumblr media
Ofc she never says anything because for most of her life Tyler has put himself in a position of authority and is her caretaker. It's hard to speak up to somebody when they constantly say "I'm doing this for your own good, for your own safety, for-" Whatever. Taylor always believes Tyler does everything for her own best interests, so... even when she doesn't feel good about something, she'll still listen to him. It's a veryyyyyy slippery slope that can quickly become toxic, if it isn't already. Because besides being her brother, he's put himself as her parent figure as well.
He does the thing. You know. Where parentified kids try to overcorrect so they kind of coddle their own children and don't let them do anything because they're scared to death something is gonna happen to them 💀
I don't really know what the point of this was I just wanted to talk about how possessive Tyler can be and how unhealthy his attachment style is 😭 If I write Tyler and Logan angst tho just know it's gonna involve Tyler being overprotective and Logan being Not Cool TM about it 🫠
Oh yeeees. Thinking about these relationships.
Megatron feels "familiar" to them. He's got "good vibes." Megatron is just bluscreening at something so small and fragile, trusting him entirely.
I think caretaking would actually be good for Rodimus, given how he improves when pushed and for caring about others. He would be thrilled by the kids' first colors.
Co-Captain Co-Parent Bonding.
I feel like Cygate would be the ones bonding with Jawbreaker, and I see Whirl having a soft spot for all of them, but maybe being the one taking Twitch flying. The relationship helps ease tension between him and Megatron.
Rewind and Swerve would be Hashtag's favorite people. I can see her getting dragged into (very willingly) investigations with Nightbeat.
Nightshade would have so much fun with the Science Crew (Simpatico + Nautica). They have like half a dozen science dad/moms by the time this is done. Because then we get adventurers Anode and Lug and Wheeljack calling and seeing a whole baby behind Perceptor.
Thunderclash is there, and I see them being delighted by each other.
Ravage has grandchildren know and is going to make sure they are raised right.
Minimus, meanwhile, is one of the two people on the ship who has a sibling and is actually able to navigate this unique relationship with them, making him a pretty big important person for them for advice and dealing with any tensions.
Rung is never forgotten by the kids who see him.
Exactly and everyone's just got "???????" vibes going on because this is Megatron these newbuilds are cuddling up to. I'm imagining the hilarious image of one or so of the kids sleeping on Megs and he dares not to move lest he wake them up (probably a very young Twitch), and that works both for here and for regular earthspark
I'm just getting the vibe these kids feel younger than most hotspot newbuilds do, juuuust a hunch
Co-captain co-parenting indeed
Dare I say it pushes them closer
Oooo on JB and cygate, especially since full on cygate doesn't teeeechnically enter the picture until later in canon, giving me the hilarious image of Jawbreaker calling Cyclonus mom and Taily dad (Swerve lets the kids watch earth cartoons) and somewhat awkward but wholesome consequences ensue
Awwww on Whirl bonding with Twitch yes yes, perhaps foreshadowing can occur regarding future scraplet baby Sparky
Also ssuddhfh on Whirl and Megatron /trying/ to play nice for Twitch. Glaring will occur.
Yessss on # having fun with Rewind, Swerve, and Nightbeat. I in general see a lot of Hashtag tapping in on movie night, and the idea of Nightbeat doing his detective thing and Hashtag trailing behind him is hilarious
Nightshade over here is playing collect a parent: advanced edition because they're seriously loving just how much companionship they can find among the Lost Light scientists.
I in general feel like Anode will take quite an interesting in the kids' story
I'm getting the image of the kids absolutely getting along with Thunderclash and all Roddie can think is "damn it, them too?!?"
Ravage will exactly raise them right if it's the last thing he does. Which it may or may not be.
Oooo on Mins helping inform them on the whole sibling thing!
They remember him.
They remember that little orange therapist with glasses and kindness, and they always will.
If BroZone’s parents are actually still alive and are bad, never cared about their sons, wanting them to be perfect or something, are big important part of movie.
What do you think what will happen if they show up?
How will each brother react and feel about them? (I’m not sure if Clay and Floyd remembers them)
Do you think they will realize that Branch is their son, not a different guy with same name that is their youngest son (I mean his colors is not same as the original. Branch’s brothers still did realize him even though his skin is darker)
It would be interesting if Branch just call them by their names not “mom” and “dad”.
How can they react what happened to Rosiepuff and how she died? (I would not be surprised if her name is revealed and is not Rosiepuff-)
What would they think that Bergens no longer eats Trolls?
How can they react the fact Bruce is no longer Spruce they know? Will they accept that? Will they accept the fact he’s a father with loving family? (I’m not sure if they would have cared and for some reason I think Bruce probably told (‘lie’) to his kids that they died or something but Brandy knows the truth.)
So about Half-human AU (love that AU so much-)
Will we see Rosiepuff?
Will we know how her relationship with all five boys? (I know Branch was a baby that time)
Oh boy, I'm not sure. I suppose it's all in the context of the movie. I don't think there will be a lot of good feelings considering how the brothers felt about one another after not seeing each other for twenty years. Idk if Branch even has met his parents. Granted, they have never even mentioned them. I'm not sure if we will see Brozone's parents but who knows, maybe.
I don't actually have a lot of thoughts when it comes to canon Brozone parents; I think if there is another movie, it might not be so focused on the past of Branch because the third movie already was? We have such little context - virtually none - of Brozone's parents so it's really hard to consider when there is not clues to them at all that I can remember.
I'd be surprised if there is a lot of positive feelings. I'd be even more surprised if John Dory wasn't kinda pissed. Although he seems like a pretty forgiving person, idk, there's just something about that.
Our only clue to their parents is simply the implication that they haven't been around much considering John's whole thing was "four brothers is a lot of responsibility" it's pretty easy to imply that he was taking the bulk of the caretaking for them. Idk if they'd recognize Branch, who knows, they might not have actually met him even as a baby?
As for the Bruce thing - they might not even really know their son? Like, we have no idea what kind of relationship any of the bros has with their mom and dad - if any relationship at all. No one seemed too bothered that much by Bruce's name change and he's far old enough to have a family so I don't think it would be a huge talking point?
The Half Life AU? (I'm going to guess)
Rosiepuff does make an appearance! I think she's in one of the chapters of Breathe Again, I just haven't written it yet. I gotta find my notes on what happens lol but she does appear. John doesn't really have much of a relationship with her. He has mostly chalked this up to distance since she doesn't live in Bergentown. He is also rather protective and paranoid at this time when she first shows up, so you know, he's just kind of suspicious of appearances.
Moving forward, he's grateful that he does have her support with taking care of the boys but he does not let go of paranoid and suspicious thoughts of motives for quite some time. Their relationship probably gets better but only time and writing will truly tell.
In general, the boys haven't spent a TON of time with their grandmother. She doesn't live in Bergentown and it's usually only when their parents are going away for a while that they get to go to grandma's house.
With Spruce, it's pretty average? Like they don't have a special relationship or anything. He was older by the time he really got to know her and was kind of doing his own thing. He's also been old enough to kind of question why she was so nice but her child - their parent - is not that much to them. They spent more time at grandma's when John disappeared/left and that was a big turning point in Spruce's role in the family, as he was saddled with more responsibility. He usually took care of Branch during that time so she could focus on Clay and Floyd.
She's closer with Clay and Floyd. Branch is a baby so he doesn't really know much and has met her much. Spruce is a little older and holds a little resentment (as has been shown a little) which will be included with his grandmother. It's not a ton, just that niggling in the back of his mind with those quiet angry thoughts.
Clay and Floyd are young, so they don't really think that way as much. She's never told Clay he was stupid or treats him like his parents do in that area, so he likes her, although he does feel she doesn't take him seriously. He did tell her something that happened with their parents and one of his older brothers once when he was very young and nothing happened, he's pretty sure she didn't' believe him. I doubt he particularly remembers this, he was pretty young so he's got some unconscious anger and frustration (this is not un-typical of him generally) but overall, he really likes her. She's kind of safe from being called stupid and dumb.
Floyd is a quiet, gentle soul and doesn't like making noise. He likes Rosiepuff. She plays games with him and doesn't mind any tapping or humming he does. She lets him play music when they play games although she does have a competitive streak. So she's got a pretty good relationship with Floyd but he also notes right away of John's apprehension and paranoid ticks when she shows up and although he loves his grandmother, he hasn't spent nearly as much time with her as he has with John over the course of his life. There is probably no one he ends up trusting and believing more.
Branch is just a baby but loves her. She's a maternal presence that he kind of lacks with his own parents. He ends up getting more of this with Sofia, Delta and Constance but he does like her at this point. Of course, he is a baby and she adores him too.
Oh I'm such a wimp I don't even wanna think about bad things happening 🫣 But I keep coming back to touch starved, secret caretaking and cry into chest, if you want to talk about any of them?
Well secret caretaking would be kind of a fluffy one! Buck is a pretty stubborn guy when it comes to taking care of himself and asking others for help related to that, so it would be Eddie quietly doing things to make his life easier/nicer while he’s having a tough time. A lot of him being sappy while making sure his ice packs always get back in the freezer, etc.
Haven’t figured out the other two so I’ll just start typing shit out under the cut
Cry into chest…. Not sure what to do about this one…. Maybe I’ll make Eddie cry about something…. Family problems? A nightmare? Buck got hurt and he’s worried? Chris is sick and he’s worried? Or maybe nothing at all has happened but he still is just caught up in an overwhelming feeling of nonspecific worry and frustrated about it because he thought he was past this, The Breakdown ™ was so long ago at this point and like he knows making progress doesn’t mean he magically doesn’t have anxiety anymore and he can have set backs and that’s okay, but he’d been getting better at recognizing when panic like this is coming on and what might trigger it, he’s upset that this blindsided him. Yeah I like that I think I’ll turn that into something…
Touch starved might be another Eddie one. Maybe lawsuit era, maybe post shooting where Ana is there and touches him but he just wants buck, maybe breakdown era where he doesnt see buck anymore and misses him so much but doesnt know how to ask for it, maybe just a general him getting in his head about what kind of touch he’s allowed to have? Like he and Buck casually touched and hugged more in the first season or two they were in and then got a little more distant and that could be characterized as like… in the early days Buck is a friend, its fine to pal around with your friends, but then uh oh the emotions are getting really intense now and you’re not supposed to want to touch your friends this much! Danger! What would the guys on his baseball team have said? What would his dad say? In other words Eddie Diaz Fights The Forces Of Internalized Homophobia. OR I might repurpose and finish this snippet (that I think I’ve already posted before??) about Buck coming back to the Diaz house for the first time after the tsunami
They’re in the locker room, shift over by a good ten minutes, when Eddie puts a hand on his arm. Buck, carefully, doesn’t startle or say this is the second time you’ve touched me in three months out loud.
“You wanna come over,” Eddie says, theoretically a question but presented more like a statement, and Buck should probably feel more annoyed at that except for the fact that there’s a less than zero chance he’d ever say no.
“Yeah,” he says, unnecessarily. “Sure. You want me to grab food?”
So, 40 minutes later, he’s in front of the Diaz house holding a few greasy boxes and worrying that somehow everyone’s taste in pizza has changed since the last time they did this. Eddie’s taste, probably, at nearly years old, has settled such that the most garlic-y option Buck can find is still a safe bet, but Chris is just a kid, getting bigger every day, changing all the time. Three months is an age to an eight year old, maybe pepperoni is disgusting now, embarrassing, food for babies.
So. Buck is standing on the porch, holding the boxes, biting his tongue not to cry wondering what all he might have missed when Eddie pulls into the driveway in his new big truck. He bites down harder because he doesn’t know what he’s allowed anymore, if it would be okay for him to laugh and say what the fuck are you hauling around that you need this much car, Diaz.
Sorry Eddie I will never pass up the opportunity to rage on you for your poor choice of car for city driving
Damian: I've got to dads, so I work twice as hard on Father's Day presentations at school.
Bruce: Why would you want another dad???? I'm more than enough!
Damian: ... 🙂
Bruce: ... Damian, you were talking about me, right? I am one of your dads, right??
Damian: 🙂
Meanwhile, Dick and Jason framing a drawing of Damian to put in the living room of their apartment: 😊😊
(Sorry, I love Bruce as a character, but I hate him as a dad)
While I'm not particular about good/bad dad Bruce, I'm positively feral over DickJay being parental figures to Damian LOL. Like, sorry B but step aside for my boys raising their boy omggggggg. <3
Before I get too carried away though, let's just take a little journey to Damian learning about Father's Day for the first time. And at first he's very (・_・ヾ over it because what a useless holiday. Obviously every day is a day to respect your father?? But then he sees from his peers that it's more of a celebration of paternal bonds and having a dedicated time to really reflect on that and express gratitude for all the little things that are often overlooked.
The first person he'd think of would be Dick because like. Bruce might be Dami's father but Dick is his dad. (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ) There's a very special bond there that was hard won. Damian came to respect this man because of Dick's actions as opposed to familial hierarchy.  And Dick is just - very kind. Patient. Caring. Always there, showing up. Dick taught Dami so much on how to be a person and inspires him so much on the sort of man Dami wants to grow to be. Just someone reliable and stalwart, with fortitudinous and steadfast resolve and goodness. FFFFFFFF I've got feelings I can't. (*꒦ິㅂ꒦ີ) Like I don't think Damian would really express all of that, but fuck if he doesn't feel it, you know?
And Jason. Ahhhhh my love for DamiJay will persist always. I love the thought of them meeting in the League. And Jason being a sort of caretaker for Damian that Damian comes to adore and cherish. Because Jason showed him kindness. For a boy who experienced so little of that growing up, I imagine it would leave such a strong impression on him.  It wouldn’t be something he would ever forget.  That kindness persists even after they reconnect, too.  And like.  Jason wouldn’t remember that time with Damian in the League, but the kindness would be the same.  Maybe a little more gruff compared to the protective softness and honesty from his more catatonic state, but Damian would recognize it instantly.  In a heartbeat.  Contrary as Jason can act, it never fails that he’s protective and looking out for Damian.  Be that with his general health or with keeping him safe/well-prepared for the dangerous lives they live.  Jason is dangerous, himself, but Damian knows that there’s nowhere safer for him to be.  Not that Damian needs protecting, obviously, but the point stands.
Just.  These two men would have made such an impact in Damian’s life.  They would do it without any real familial obligation, too.  Damian would recognize that they owe him nothing, but they chose to put up with him anyway.  Regardless of how difficult and ornery he can be, they stay beside him.  And they’re not perfect.  In fact, Damian thinks they’re hopeless in a lot of ways, but they’re good, strong, kind people.  Damian respects them wholeheartedly (though again, he keeps it largely to himself).
So yes.  Father’s day comes around and once Damian understands it, it would become important to him to partake in the tradition.  He would put so much thought and effort into a school presentation that would likely really confuse his classmates and maybe his teacher, too.  Because they’re well aware that Damian is a Wayne so why isn’t he talking about Bruce?  And omgggggg the teacher gently trying to explain that it’s okay that Damian didn’t understand the assignment and Damian just !!! because he understood perfectly.  And then he’d proceed to eloquently defend himself and tell everyone to fuck off and that their critical thinking sucks.  Which would lead to a guardian being called which, multiple scenarios:
1)  Bruce making the visit and having a talk with Damian and having it explained to him that Damian respects Bruce as his father because he’s his biological father, but Dick is different.  So is Jason.  And Bruce having to sit with that and really think about life and children and fatherhood.  Maybe it’d inspire some more effort outside of patrol and whatnot.  (Sorry I’m not very familiar with their dynamic so I’m gonna leave this basic af ahahaha)
2) Dick makes the visit and Damian, uncharacteristic as it is for him, legit slouches in his chair in an attempt to disappear because admin explains what happened.  The ‘misunderstanding’ and Dick just (*꒦ິ⌓꒦ີ) because that’s the sweetest fucking thing he’s ever heard.  It’d catch Dick so off guard but omggggg he’d be wounded with endearment.  So (*꒦ິㅂ꒦ີ) that he would never recover or stop smiling or feeling proud.  And of course he’d back Damian up.  Because yeah, he gets this posh school is traditional with its family values, but that’s just not the case for a lot of kids so.  How disappointing that such a fine educational institution would disparage a kid for having different circumstances in life.  Good to know that nothing has changed since Dick attended xx years ago.  And admin loves Dick even after so much they’d apologize and play their part and then overcorrect and Damian would OTL
3) Jason makes the visit and Damian is equally as embarrassed as per above.  Jason would be very startled over being included as someone Damian counts as a dad though.  The blush would be so soft and sweet and for a bit Jason would be absolutely speechless and (∗∕ ∕•̥̥̥̥∕ω∕•̥̥̥̥∕).  Then he’d throwdown with admin and they’d both get kicked out LOL.
4) Dick and Jason both break down the doors of Gotham Academy and 2 & 3 both happen, but it moreso ends with them getting kicked out.  Surprisingly not because Jason is difficult or combative, but because Dick is (ʘ‿ʘ✿) because someone would inevitably blame Jason and like.  No.  Nope.  Catch these hands motherfu-
Getting back on track here.  No solid end.  Just Damian being a bit shy over being called out like he was.  And Dick maybe walking around looking skyward because no of course he’s not crying; he’s openly weeping these are happy tears wth.  Ngl I think Dick would be the most overwhelmed by everything.  Because his relationship with Damian started so roughly and then became something so amazing.  Then it was taken away when Bruce came back and Dick was convinced that was it.  He thought he was the only one that felt that bond.  And ahhhhhhhh I’ve wounded myself.  Help.  FFFFFFFFF.
Meanwhile Damian would just be like, ‘compose yourself, Grayson.  You’re embarrassing yourself.  And me.’
And Jason would laugh because for real?  Big aww.  It’s not often Dick gets overwhelmed so it’d just be so sweet hahaha.
And yes.  Once they’re both composed (because Jason would be overwhelmed by those heartwarming feelings too, obviously), they would absolutely do the most with all of Damian’s tender affection for them.  (*´︶`*)
My fav thought is DickJay showing up at Gotham Academy dressed like absolute fools in matching sets of something that they mismatched with each other.  I’m talking embarrassing crop top sweat pants combo and long shirt booty short combo that reads some form of ‘Daddy’ or ‘Dad’ or ‘Damian’s Dad’ while waiting to pick this loser up from school and Damian is just (≡ε≡;)
imo the more interesting tim&jason dynamic /is/ the "they're only like 2 years apart" one (esp wrt "jason was tim's robin"? seems (to me) to have more potential if it's like "this kid who is my age is doing cool shit, I want to do cool shit like them, because they're my age and that hits close to home") personally am genuinely unsure why "tim is a poor little meow meow" seems to be more popular despite how it fucks both their characterizations lol
Tumblr media
i will answer to both of you here, as it's related to the same post!
just in case i want to say that there's plenty of aspects of tim's storyline that have lots of potential. and there certainly could be an interesting one involving jason too. alas.
i think in general fanon tim is just a poor little meow meow. it's really ironic how when he was introduced, the writers wanted to make him more "likable" than jay, and they didn't want batman to play a full-time dad, so in place of jay's insecurity and need for parental love tim gets two living parents and is, for the most part, self-assured. there's some canon progression which disturbs this status quo of course, but it's fanon that turned his storyline into one about neglect.
so apparently all writers should have done to make the new robin a fan favourite was keeping jason's struggles and just making tim wealthy. real "what's cool when you're rich but trash when you're poor?" moment. having attachment issues, apparently.
and don't get me wrong, there is place for meta about tim's parents being neglectful, even if the creators originally wanted to achieve the opposite. but i find the extent to which fanon pushes this idea and makes it his sole source of personality a bit astonishing, especially that canon tim, for the most part, doesn't share any of these issues. and personally, his initial motivations that stem from his fascination with vigilantism seem much more appealing to me.
as you said: "this kid who is my age is doing cool shit, I want to do cool shit like them, because they're my age and that hits close to home." maybe it's a bit simplified, but tim being just a child who gets himself into something much bigger than himself without really realising the consequences – and essentially both traumatising himself as a result (while also finding family, one does not exclude another) is a pretty fascinating concept.
and like. canon tim is plenty weird about jason, okay. so i think their confrontation at some point would be interesting. and probably awkward.
btw we don't actually get to see jason and tim's first interactions after jay's resurrection. i said it before, but for christ's sake, the teen titans tower incident is no longer canon, and for a good reason, especially that in that era jason is portrayed as having a psychotic break and tim hates his guts and calls him deranged?
how do you derive an enemy to caretaker trope from this is beyond me tbh. it sounds good in theory, right, because it refers to jay's inherent kindness, but you do have to make them "enemies" in the first place, or at least jason the aggressor – which you need to follow the ableist storyline for (i really doubt jason would actually care about tim much if he was more stable, and he definitely wouldn't want to hurt him), and all i can ask is: why. find something new.
i don't know, if there's any actually interesting tim & jason fanfics that don't follow these cliches you should let me know, because the majority of the tag definitely isn't for me.
Maurice 20/08/1932 (Leo), 12 years old.
Half English (mom), half Italian (dad). I know he gets in so much trouble while visiting his nonna! Imagine a sunny Sunday and an old lady yelling "MAURIZIO!" because her grandson ate all the tomatoes that were going into the sauce for pasta.
His hair is controversial. His hair is parted in the middle, but before the island, it was super easy to brush it down and make it stay in its place. During and after the island, his hair goes BOOM, the fluffiness arrives, and it is impossible to make it stay in its place. The worst thing is that he doesn't care at all.
His dad is a marine biologist!! Whenever his dad is in another country, he brings Maurice souvenirs, mostly magazines and other things that he adores because he looks for original jokes in the humour section to tell at school. His humour is pretty much a mix between already-made jokes and ocean facts. He is also great at making up stories because of this.
He is an only child, and he is super spoiled. I would confidently say he has one of the most healthy relationships with both his parents. He's just a happy kid (maybe too happy).
In other conditions, Piggy and Maurice could have been besties. Maurice is a Physics nerd while Piggy's a Chemistry nerd, so they'd go to Piggy's aunt's sweet shop to do homework.
Related to that, he is super sweet-toothed. You can convince him to do everything if you are offering him something sweet. He had a lot of trouble on the island because the only mildly sweet things were fruits, and of course, he hates veggies and fruits. It was his hell.
During his teens, his humour grows darker and bitter, including making witty remarks now and then. It might seem he's fine after the island, but has a bunch of unhealthy coping mechanisms, such as using humour to the point of being horribly insensitive to others and even triggering other's traumatic events.
It is quite surprising seeing that he has no healthy coping mechanisms, even if he has a good family circle. That is because his parents, although being great caretakers, always push him to smile or not cry because those problems will eventually pass. I guess his issues derive mainly from repressed feelings and no space for him to digest trauma.
After coming back, he grows closer to Jack, which is super surprising for everyone. The thing is that Maurice leaves the choir once they're back in England but only keeps in touch with Jack, becoming a pen pal almost instantly and never losing contact. Jack doesn't mind this, he thinks Maurice is one of his most genuine friends, if not the only one.
Something inside him still needs closure about the island, so he keeps contact with everyone who was on the island incident, and I mean EVERYONE. He researches and sends a lot of letters to everyone. However, he maintains some distance from the littluns.
He might tend to develop a lot of addictions because of his constant need for short-term happiness. Enjoys gambling, alcohol and whatever that can entertain him.
During his late teens, he starts living in France and finds a job in a newspaper agency! He loves his job and found out that learning French is easy for him, so whenever he visits England, he is like, "Bonjour, fellas!".
Of course, he loves the French ladies or ladies in general. He's such a Casanova, or at least that's his mental image. Even if he's quite famous among the ladies, he never ends up with a girlfriend lol.
He loves the idea of being a reporter but has heard about the new stand-up comedy in America, and he is willing to try.
This is more of a theory than a headcanon, but I firmly believe Maurice's name is based on "Maurice, or the Fisher's Cot" from Mary Shelley. Please look it up because the whole story brings me to tears, but I think there are too many coincidences, and it reflects so well on Maurice's character.
You saying that Amir doesn’t have enough daddy issues to be attracted to Izzy made me laugh pretty hard. I love that there are two categories of being attracted to Izzy (and both involve daddy issues). First is just thinking he’s hot (most notably Lucius, of course.) And the second is “ugh, THIS guy, why would anyone be into him? I don’t get it, he’s a jerk…wait, no, shit, I see it. No, please, let me unsee Izzy being hot”, a position pioneered by Stede.
I think this begs the question, in the main-verse, what’s the full breakdown on who thinks Izzy is hot and who doesn’t? Izzy strikes me as one of the more divisive tastes, compared to like, Jim or Eddy, who even people who would never want to sleep with them generally find them at least kinda attractive.
OMG I love this question, thank you Anon. The daddy issues things is so much more apparent in Wake Myself where the focus is on the second generation cast because the age gap is wider, but is a definite Thing across the universes because Izzy is both a silver fox and the sort of rough caretaker that could really scratch an itch. SO, here in order of Most Attracted to Least are most of the mainverse characters:
Yes, Please:
Lucius- See: effectively marrying him, makes you number one with a bullet.
Eddy- This seems high, but again, did actually have sex with the man for five years and breaking it off was due to emotional disaster, not lack of attraction. This is less about daddy stuff though since young Izzy had more of a feral wolverine energy.
Charlie- The crush is upsettingly large and enduring though he wouldn't actually have wanted Izzy to do anything about it. It was a hot idea, not something he wanted in reality.
Pete- Izzy's whole vibe kind of does it for Pete, but he's also very not interested in sticking his dick in a bear trap, especially after Lucius stakes him out. But he still 100% gets the attraction, would ride that ride in another lifetime (and does!)
Maybe:
Stede- Indeed, the pioneer of the slow 'oh, shit he's hot' group.
Roach- Would one-night stand him in a minute. He likes the feral part of Izzy a lot.
The Swede- he's terrified of Izzy most of the time, but once Izzy cleaned out a cut he got cleaning up a broken glass and the Swede felt a bit swoony.
Owen- Yes, even in mainverse. No, he doesn't want to talk about it.
Felix- Look, Charlie put the thought in his brain and he couldn't unsee it. He's a good looking guy!
No, Thanks
Oluwande- Cannot understand what the fuss is about, but respectfully does not point that out. He is handy to have around though.
John and Frenchie- obvious reasons. John finds Izzy aesthetically pleasing though. Frenchie does not.
Buttons- He's a nice enough lad, not for him.
Anne- Like him a lot, but absolutely not.
Alma- Nope. Does nothing for her. Same goes for the rest of her crew, except Owen.
Amir- Loves Charlie, does not understand his taste.
EW NO WTF
Jim- THAT IS MY BOSS GROSS
Read- ACTUAL DAD ACTUAL DAD AHHHHHHH
Hi Fawn! Do you have any inukag fics that you have enjoyed reading recently and that you would recommend? :)
Hello sunsetskys, dear! Thank you so much for the ask!
Here is a list of a dozen InuKag stories that I've read in the past few months that have really captured my attention. Fair warning; this list runs a little bit on the angsty side, because that's where my heart does lie (I'm a sucker for a good dark and angsty story), but I tried to give you a little bit of fluff to make up for it!
It's a long list, so it's below the cut, but I hope you find some of these as enjoyable as I have!
The Art of Falling in Tandem (E; ongoing) by @shikonstar
After several years away, Kagome believes she is over Inuyasha and is finally ready to accept him as just a friend. And what could be the best way to prove this? Moving in with him, of course! She can handle it, right? The close contact. The intensity of his eyes. The shirtless.....well. She might have overestimated herself.
B-Side (T; complete) by hakomorebi (Ao3)/@serial-doubters-club
Inuyasha is a photographer assigned to cover a local music festival. When one of the performers sings a song written by his mother, a song only the two of them could possibly know, his world is turned upside down. Inuyasha may have to come to terms with the fact that his mother kept a secret that she took to the grave.
The Closest Moment to Dawn (M; ongoing) by @classysassy9791
They named her Kagome after finding her injured and unconscious on the subway. Suffering from amnesia, she recuperates under the care of a semi-retired surgeon and a fresh young doctor. But when dark and violent flashes of her past come back to haunt her, Kagome begins to wonder if her past was worth remembering. Especially when a man she doesn't recognize quite literally lunges into her life, accusing her of murder.
Don’t Judge a Book By Its Cover (series; ratings differ) by @superpixie42
Kagome Higurashi wanted to be anywhere but at the grungy bus station at 6am with her screaming infant. But when the local delinquent turns out to be a total sweetheart, maybe things aren't as bad as they seem to be. The story of how one act of kindness deserves another, and how strangers became closer than family.
The Ghost of the Higurashi Shrine (M; ongoing) by @elkonigin
After helping her grandfather on a regular, run-of-the-mill-excorcism-turned-blessing (it's better if you just don't ask questions, well maybe you should, Kagome didn't and look at where it's gotten her so far), Kagome finds that things, well, weird things, are happening in her home and around the shrine, in addition to some other places that really just don't make sense. Kagome doesn't consider herself brilliant by any means, she's barely passing as it is, but she's pretty sure that this mess isn't normal.
Go Away, Dad! (M; complete) by @neutronstarchild
There are times when the difference between human and demon traditions is stark. And right now, with Tōga’s prouder-than-sin grin at his naked son and Izayoi’s abject horror at her idiot husband, Inuyasha can only hope that Kagome is the understanding type.
Haunted (M; complete) by @witchygirl99, @wolfcry77
“Why are you here?” Kagome whispers to him.
“Haunting you, I guess,” he replies.
“Will you stop?”
“Don’t know how.”
That gets him a sharp look. He can feel that dark gaze boring into him. “What do you mean?”
“Trust me, I don’t want to be here with you, either,” Inuyasha states, practically growling. “You think I want to be reminded of my—” Death. Of his death. “But wherever you go, I’m pulled there. No fucking idea as to why.”
Agent Kagome Higurashi kills Agent Inuyasha Taisho in action. Neither let go.
How Does Your Garden Grow? (M; ongoing) by @dawnrider
An Ingary-esque AU: Kagome, the newest generation of caretakers of the Higurashi House, finally starts to feel like her garden and business is thriving with the help of her friend Jinenji. Their routine is thrown off by the arrival of an injured visitor who does not want to be found…
How to Train Your Dog Demon (M; ongoing) by @anxietyaardvark
Izayoi is tired of Inuyasha's excuses. All he does is work; despite his protests, she knows he's lonely. She decides to get him a companion to get him out of the house, and when she finds a no-nonsense dog trainer with great reviews, ulterior motives take over.
Once Upon a New Moon’s Nonsense (T; complete) by @mrfeenysmustache
A lot has changed over the centuries, and where once his kind was hunted, now they’re just… tolerated.
And well, Inuyasha is lonely.
For one night a month, Inuyasha gets to be wholly human instead of half, and he takes full advantage, lining up dates weeks in advance in the hopes of finding someone sweet and accepting who will potentially love him Hanyo heritage and all, and he has the perfect spot for wooing- a local restaurant with the comfiest atmosphere, cheapest drinks, best food, and cutest waitress.
But that’s NOT why he goes.
It’s not.
It is.
Sense and Sensibility, an Inuyasha Retelling (T; ongoing) by @kalcia, @ruddcatha
When their father dies, the Higurashi sisters Sango and Kagome suddenly find their fortunes changed overnight. The sisters begin to find their own paths, as one learns to step away from the practical to learn to dream with the help of the dashing Miroku, and the other sees the importance of stability in a world of fancy with the steadfast Inuyasha. An adaptation of the Jane Austen Novel Sense and Sensibility.
Willow (E; ongoing) by @lavendertwilight89
Kagome had been planning to move to the States for years and when she graduated and got a job offer in LA, she hopped on a plane and was reunited with her best friend Inuyasha. What they hadn't realized was the growing concern over COVID-19 and the eventual shut down and mandatory quarantine of the world could ruin Kagome's plans. When Inuyasha comes up with a plan to keep her in the country, will she accept?
Dangerous Romance Ep 8 Stray Thoughts
Last week, Sailom told Kanghan that if he wants to be his lover he has to get with his friends. Sailom told him he couldn’t just use his money for that, so Kanghan tagged along with them to buy supplies. Kanghan tried to be tough, but he’s a rich boy who passed out in the heat. Then the show decided to have Sailom be unsteady on a bus he uses everyday so Kanghan could catch him. Auto suggested Kanghan actually use his money for them since they’re broke, and so Kanghan took them to a club. The police showed up and caught Auto. Kanghan stepped up to help rescue Auto, leading to problems for Kanghan’s dad. Kanghan missed the final point of their football match, but Guy told Sailom to go take care of Kanghan because he and Auto already knew. These two are now official in a moment that was supposed to be cute, but irked me because they made Sailom look dumb again. Meanwhile, Saifah has wormed his way into becoming the grandmother’s caretaker, so he’s definitely going to fuck this up for everyone.
Visually I think Papang and Chimon were a good choice to play brothers.
I need someone who grew up in Asian school systems to explain how the grading system works. In the US, 65 is still a failing grade.
I think I’ll have to ask one of the Thai speakers later if Kanghan did a cute thing with pronouns when they translated “faen-ja” as “boyfie”
Perth and Chimon are cute together. I really hope we get a better show from them next year.
Aren’t their rooms connected by a bathroom? Why would Kanghan hide behind a curtain? This boy is so dumb it’s painful.
Okay, he’s not as dumb as I thought and got out on his own. I’m glad Saifah didn’t find out about them within a day of being around here.
Guy and Nawa want to fuck each other so bad it makes them look stupid. Now they’re feeding each other and excited about their scheduled fight. Oh, boys.
I’m not even sure how I want to read Sailom being frustrated with Kanghan about not showing up for tutoring. This show seemingly wants it to be about Kanghan’s ability to change and the impact on the romance, but for me I’m still focused on the debt looming over Sailom and Name’s willingness to inflict violence on them for that.
Curious about the grandmother buying the expensive medicine for Saifah. I half-expected him to consider stealing the medicine and selling it to use a generic instead, but now he’s faced with someone choosing to be kind to him.
Yes, let’s check in with Pimfah to reassure the audience that Sailom is misunderstanding Kanghan and he should maybe not be mad.
The cinematography of this apology scene is good, even if I feel like the stakes are constantly shifting in this show.
Oh, right, the windmill analogy.
I do enjoy a training montage.
Glad they didn’t make Perth shave his legs.
The scene work between Ging and Saifah is actually really good.
Is Nawa about to go fight this man in crocs? He’s about to be like ole boy on that Birmingham dock.
Where is my GMMTV variety content of JJ and Euro hanging out and trying restaurants?
Another boy who wants his clothes to smell like his boyfriend. I’m okay with this.
Why is Sailom being precious about intimacy?
I do feel for Kanghan crying in happiness that he achieved something he worked hard for and having someone be proud of him for it.
Why the hell is he paying Saifah in the watch he accused him of stealing? This feels suspect as fuck.
Goddamn. There goes the dad undercutting Kanghan again.
Perth is good whenever the direction is clear.
It’s very weird having the rich boy and poor guy pairing going with the same shit going down in Only Friends with Sand and Ray.
I wonder where these two will run away to. I still don’t think I get Sailom.
Next week: We’re surprised when a card gets canceled while trying to him ‘em up style. Sigh.
It’s really worrisome for me when the best parts of a BL are happening in the side character drama. The best moments this episode were mostly around Saifah, because I just don’t get what’s going on with Sailom.
