I'm only halfway content with this drawing, but still I wanted to promote the really cool Zombie AU fic "Haywire" (ongoing atm) I read yesterday! I totally love the atmosphere, the character and relationship development <3  Give it a try if you like that stuff! 

So a long while ago before I completed Pikmin 4 I unfortunately saw a spoiler for the game. The player character was wearing a leafling cut which is what you get after rescuing an amount of leaflings.

Now I totally forgot they was a quest and thought that was something story related. My brain immediately jumped to “wait, at one point do we eventually like, fall in our mission or something? And we get turned into a leafling and now we have to cure ourselves??! That’s so cool!!!!” And honestly that is cool and my disappointment was immeasurable when I learned that that wasn’t actually a thing in the game and my brain made it up. But man conceptually that’s so cool. It would be cool if it were real

So I take matters into my own hands! Leafling Pom AU is now a thing that circles around my brain like those toy airplanes tied to a stick with plastic string. Leafling Pom where she is mostly conscious while leafified. Why isn’t it as easy to cure Pom as is the other castaways? Because having things easy is no fun and there would be no AU in that case. Bernard watches in horror watching Pom’s body get dragged into the onion as his mug shatters on the floor and lets out the most devastated “DUUUUUUUUDE….”. Dingo bring the second most capable field worker in the Rescue Corp. now has to put up with EVEN MORE bullsh*T now that he has to make sure that leafified Pom doesn’t run into a cave and never comes back out. Yonny is doing… yonny things. Russ and Collin are struggling with technology and making sure that Pom is identifiable compared to other leaflings. And Shepard is keeping the besties from falling apart because honestly if it weren’t for her these guys would’ve been separated and stayed separated.

oh he would be an ABSOLUTE mess. he walks jamie all the way in to the classroom. he sticks around as long as possible until the teacher gives him A Look and he's forced to leave so class can actually start. he calls the front desk five separate times before lunch to make sure jamie is still in one piece.

(jamie is equally sad about being separated from roy for a Whole Day. it's just. inconceivable to the both of them.)

Ok I’ll talk about my most OBTUSE au; the one that’s kinda based on Frankenstein (and by that I mean the musical (and by that I mean the song “Why?”)) where Melphis is Frankstein’s Monster!

Basically the idea is that Marion created Melphis but just like Victor he quickly grew to fear and abandon his creation, his child. Melphis ofc went mad and decided to ruin Marion’s life since that man ruined his before he was even given a chance to have a life. So, he kills child!Cherry (this takes place when she’s like, 8) to cause strife within the Oreo Gang and it leads to Marshe being blamed for the murder, thus being killed by Firo as vengeance for his daughter. All because Marion made a series of bad decisions

... and that’s all I got! It really has all thay thought out bc I don’t see this au as a full Frankenstein musical au or have really thought more about the plot outside of this moment. I don’t know if Creature!Melphis ends up murdering whoever Elizabeth would be and the rest of the events of the musical unfold. I’ve really only imagined this moment because of these lyrics from Why

Because. Well when you look at Marion and Melphis’ relationship... YEAHHHHHHHHH.

IDK man to me it doesn’t need more of a plot outside of that one thing. You get the idea: Melphis is getting revenge for being abandoned to rot by his creator (Father, Marion) and this version of him doesn’t draw the line at killing kids just to ruin Marion’s life, targeting his work since that’s all that matters to him. This au is just a wacky little thing. Carries the implication Melphis is probs gonna do more shit to destroy the Oreo Gang and likewise Marion’s livelihood, everything he’s worked towards destroyed because he decided to build himself an heir but chickened out at the last second.

All I got is that I imagine Donna and Gleo don’t exist here. And honestly maybe Sugao doesn’t either! My idea is that Marion decided to make workers for the gang like he does in canon, but because he doesn’t have a family and ig no one wants to bang him, he had to. Well. Make a man out of corpses! Very fun!!!!!!!!!

I wish Creature!Melphis the best of luck being unhinged and making Marion regret being born!!!!!

I have planned out a whole plot to this and we will be seeing both the canon mercenaries and the mercenaries in this world! We'll also be seeing Pauling, Saxton, and The Orchestrator/Administrator.

My forte is in writing and not art so the story is MUCH further along than the comic is.

My thoughts are FUCKING SCRAMBLED but. I saw RPGmonger’s new lore vid and I got thoughts. About the Ancients again bc of course

We know that the Ancients who were in the Forgotten Land made the rift tech. We know that they travelled to several dimensions; Another Dimension and Popstar’s dimension are the ones we know about. The guy said that these were the Tech Faction Ancients.

The Magic Faction has always been there in Another Dimension. Did they know about Rift spells? Elfilis and the Doomers are natives, and they both know how to do that via magic (I guess. Lets say that they do). Anyway; these two factions worked together, traveling across the galaxy and spreading their influence until the Jamba Heart crisis.

Theres three planets that come to mind when thinking of where they settled down (and rpgmonger said these too) — Popstar, Shiverstar, and Halcandra. At one point, both factions settled there. If this was the last stop, this is where the split occurred. This is the last planet the Tech faction settled on before…something happened to the planet (cough Haltmann? Cough…or it could be that the split of the factions wrecked the planet, who knows?)

We know that the Magic Faction is Hyness’s clan. If the hc of the Tech Ancients being Human is correct…

What if. What if Magolor was from the Magic Faction? What if he was a part of Hyness’s clan, descendant of the banished? (If not one of THE ORIGINAL BANISHED) What if he got sick of their anti-tech stance, their worship of Void? Got curious about the Tech faction, Investigated them, grew to appreciate them? Tried to become them?

If not that. Tried to become what the Ancients were in their peak — a combination of Tech and Magic. Look at how they influenced…conquered? The Universe when they were working together! If hes like Hyness with the desire to restore their clan…and angry enough that he wants justice…proud enough to know how to run the Universe “like the Ancients did in their peak”…

Wouldnt seeking an artifact that grants ultimate power be the way? An artifact that he knows is hidden on his old home planet. A planet he was banished from.

When he said he was from Halcandra, he was saying a partial truth. Like everything else he says…
