#souls series is honestly a great example of how extremely high player tolerance is for bullshit design#elden ring is the#its kind of ridiculous honestly#the game is supposedly goty yet the moment you take the pink glasses off and cure your soulsborne rabies you wonder why anyone even bothers#to play it?#i think of this as a powerful reminder that you enjoy bad games even more than good ones sometimes#it is alarming that a gamedev studio has been unable to learn anything new or fix their own glaring mistakes for more than a decade though#oh well they seem to do better with armored core though I have not seen much about it#elden ring#i know im probably baiting soulsborne rabid fans into hate here but i need to share this and spread critical opinion and analysis

I might be ~quirky~ for this (welcome to my twisted mind and etc) but I genuinely have so much fun with shipping nowadays, ever since I chose to be singleship for each muse. I feel like my adhd has never allowed me to pour even half as much care and attention into a ship as I'd have loved to when I had multiple ones at the same time per muse, so being able to focus on a single romantic dynamic per muse really feels like a weight off my shoulders
#* ooc. / posts.#I also know my adhd is all over the place so at times I may go a few months w/o bringing that specific muse (and thus ship) up#(unless you approach me in dms; in which case my mind typically instantly goes !!! on the muse & ship)#so I'm INCREDIBLY touched whenever my ship partners agree to be singleship w me. It's truly such an honor and blessing to me#and I feel like it's much easier for my muse to get very attached when their romantic attention only goes to a single person;#so you can best believe that from the moment we start shipping your portrayal will ALWAYS. and I mean /ALWAYS/ be intertwined with mine#doesn't matter if you drop the muse or leave tumblr or stop writing altogether. your muse will Always be my muse's special someone#I've had tons of ships where my partner disappeared off the face of the earth one day and yet all I've done was change 'singleship'#to 'noship' bc my muse's heart to this day (several irl years later) continues to be with their portrayal; REFUSING to look at anyone else#Granted this is also why I'm so picky with shipping; in the sense that I let my muse lead the way til they fall in love#and only THEN do I ask the mun if they're fine w our muses being a thing (and thus being singleship w me)#I used to say yes to people just asking to ship and while I know that's a neat option too; I simply. Cannot do that these days ADGHSAJDSDK#nothing against anyone nor against that route; but I've had a good share of ships that crumbled or made me lose muse bc my muse wasn't#feeling the ship. so I'm no longer going ahead unless the muse falls first and makes ME start shipping it rather than the other way around#and that decision has unironically made me feel so light and comfortable here AHDSAJDSKDJ#AH NEY WAYZ!! decided to make a reel of my augmented reality artworks done over the past few months and MAN, it’s.......... suddenly hitting me just how absolutely nuts all of this is
six years ago, virtual reality was still firmly in the realm of science fiction. but now? not only is it real - but it’s possible to have a career working completely inside a virtual world where you have godlike controls over creation. (editing physics, light, gravity - and spawning things into existence on a whim? mind-mindbogglingly, this is somehow just my average workday)
I regularly spend so much time in-headset that it’s started re-wiring my brain; I think of landscapes and buildings as potential canvases for 3D digital artworks, and I sometimes struggle to differentiate virtual objects from reality. (I’ve tried to place real objects on virtual tables, and I instinctively step over/around virtual objects because of how REAL they appear and behave.)
our brains work by building a picture of reality via our sensory input, but what happens when that input is completely virtual? virtual reality is showing us that not only are our brains easily tricked, but that this is already happening even with the technology in its infancy. people using avatars with full-body tracking report ‘phantom sense’ sensations to virtual touch, heat, and cold - and haptic gloves & suits are in development that blur the lines between realities even further.
what will a world look like where we interact with cyperspace as if it was real? where you can meet with anyone, anywhere, in a virtual world you can both touch, hear, and (probably someday) smell or even taste? where job training, 3d design, therapy, education, etc. are all revolutionized by XR in the same way personal computers revolutionized them already?
what does a future look like where we don’t interact with digital media through a screen?
I don’t have the answers, but I think change is encroaching rapidly upon us all - and I think it’s gonna hit us faster than any of us can realize.

I don’t think I will ever get over how the Batman Beyond Rebirth series treated/used Matt McGinnis during its run. Ever.
Cause one of the main reasons I dove into reading the rebirth series was to read about how Matt became Robin and what his time was like. And having read and finishing the entire run like a year ago it STILL upsets me how they set him up to be Robin, stressing that he is essential to Terry’s batman and to his success, only to rip it away ten issues later b/c “they didn’t want to bring in another child into the mission”.
Acting as if they hadn’t dragged Matt through the ordeal of being sidelined to helplessly watch losing his brother MULTIPLE times both before and after he was Robin. Like what was the whole point of that set up if they were just gonna rip it away?? Explain it to me, b/c I can’t find a damn reason.
#I’m surprised I have yet to share my anger about the rebirth run on this site yet but here we are#I srsly will never get over it#because they had a chance to expand the batfam/bat team for the beyond universe but they didn’t#instead they build it up then take it apart because why the hell not#terry mcginnis is the only one to matter here and anyone else can fuck right off#there could’ve been an introspective into what it is like to step into a legacy role that has been built for DECADES#and learning how to you’re gonna fit into it and how you will define it vs your predecessors#but dc are cowards and won’t do that#I can talk about this for ages but cMON#dc comics#dc#batman beyond#batman#robin#batman and robin#matt mcginnis#terry mcginnis#what sparked this on was because I looked into some of the stuff in the n52 and briefly saw how Matt was being handled there#bro literally cannot stop being sidelined and losing his brother I-

Tumblr is the best platform because I don't make a concerted effort to specifically gain followers or attention, and yet somehow people still find me amongst the billions of other posts. And SO many of y'all will leave little comments and expressions of affection on my posts or click the "like" button for my little crochets or smile when one of my pokemon comes up on your dash.
