Bu biraz can sıkıcıydı açıkçası.
Lee Jae-Wook’u daha önce ilk Do do sol sol la la sol dizisinde izlemiştim. Sonrasında Memories of the Alhambra da izlemiştim.
Dream work !
Her kadın kendi bambaşka ilişkini bize anlattı.
Güzelliği olsun, duruşu olsun, oyunculuğu olsun her şeyine bayıldım.

Côte d'Ivoire's Choong Mo Nim and Heung Jin Nim, and the FFWPU's Involvement in the Drug Trade
Tumblr media
▲ IRFF volunteers in Côte d'Ivoire in the late 1980s
The mention of "Choo Mo Nim" brings back intense memories that marked a turning point in the great muddy water filled with falsehood in a virtual and imaginary providence in Ivory Coast. I am aware of all these events related by brother Houago Joël who thought he was Heung Jin Nim's return to earth. I am therefore an eyewitness to all these events and I was currently occupying important positions in the Unification Church in Côte d'Ivoire.
Sister Dago Suzanne also had spiritual problems, receiving messages from the spiritual world. I must recall that Sister Suzanne met the Unification Church in Bouaké in 1988 where I was the assistant pastor. It was I who introduced him to the “divine principle” in a three-day seminar. After this seminar, her spiritual problems started where she told me that Reverend Moon was coming to talk to her, she also told me that she saw a big light in the shape of a crown on my head. When she begins to pray, she can do about 10 to 15 hours of prayer. Her husband was very afraid of her because of her possession of evil spirits. But at the time, our Unification Church leaders thought she was communicating with the divine.
This situation resembled the phenomenon the church experienced in Zimbabwe with Brother Cleophas. The sister became authoritarian and she claimed the place of brother Emmanuel Kouassi's wife who had died of an attack of malaria. The strength of character of Sister Dago Suzanne was such that she forced Brother Emmanuel Kouassi to have sex with her. She abandoned her home to move in with the brother who had lost his Filipino wife to her. These unfortunate facts have divided the church into several groups.
Apart from Dago Suzanne's group, there was another group I was part of, that of black Heung Jin Nim. Brother Houango Joël saying he was the return to earth of Moon's son, Heung Jin Min. We went to their residence to praise and adore the black Heung Jin Nim in the person of Houango Joël. I was the one presenting the message of the Divine Principle, Sister Nobah Monique was the spiritualist prophet of the group, and Houango Joel was the embodiment of Heung Jin Moon.
The whole city was moving to go to this center of healing and prophecy named “Residence HEUNG JIN NIM”. Positionally, I was number 3 in the group.
Thus the church was divided into three great groups, the main branch of the Unification Church, the branch of black Heung Jin Nim and that of Dago Suzanne.
The great church officials were hiding at night to go and meet the Black Heung Jin nim and the prophetess to predict the future. Great was my surprise to find that the black Heung Jin slept with the sisters who came for treatment. But long before, I had weird dreams and I saw the behavior of the prophetess sister who did not inspire me with confidence. She was involved in shady dealings with Korean missionary Hae Yong Kim.
I would like to specify that our group was infiltrated by the Ivorian secret service because it was informed that our church was involved in drug trafficking. The investigators whom we had received as patients or people who came to the Divine Principle seminary to discretely carry out their investigations for months, but they did not find any trace of drug trafficking in this group of the black Heung Jin Nim. So they explained to me the content of their mission and they asked me to help them infiltrate the group of the missionary of the Unification Church and the National President of the Church. I had to collaborate and it paid off.
It was established that the National President of the Unification Church in Côte d'Ivoire named Adama Doumbia, the Korean missionary Hae Yong Kim, Mr. Bakary Camara, the American missionary Kathy Rigney, and others were all involved in a large network of drug trafficking initiated by the Reverend Sun Myung Moon. They paid a bond of $15,000 to the Ivorian state to hush up the case. I was the only inconvenient witness that they bought silence with greenbacks. After gathering enough evidence that I was on the wrong path, I decided to expose bad practices by stepping away from the Unification Church. This is the subject of my position in “Reverend Moon is an impostor” on Facebook.
Ms. Dago Suzanne lived in Bouaké, a town 500 kilometers from Abidjan in central Côte d'Ivoire. When the religious leaders saw that she was restless and giving revelations from the spiritual world, they asked that she come to Abidjan. When she arrived, and after a test, she was turned away by the church and she found refuge with Nobah Monique where the black Heung Jin (Joel) lived. It was this group that could accept it. During his short stay with black Heung Jin Nim, they did not work together but these hosts gave way to him. She took control as the central figure and the others watched her act. Her hosts seemed to say that if Suzanne came to live with them, it was because they were in the truth. In the end, they did not last together and Suzanne found refuge with an older Moonist brother named Cisset Koné.
Suzanne started her own Unification Church group and did marriage blessings – but she's dead now.

For someone who rarely enjoys period pieces, I’m absolutely loving River Where the Moon Rises! Maybe it’s because I already knew the story from before. Kim So Hyun and Ji Soo make the perfect Princess Pyeong Gang and On Dal, and I’m already loving their chemistry and loyalty to each other. But I would literally die for Go Gun and Hae Mo Yong at this point! I honestly can’t get enough of them and I’m so excited to see their tension and chemistry played out in the rest of the storyline.

River Where the Moon Rises, ep 4
This story is moving at a blistering pace. Basically everyone, including the King, knows that Pyeong Gang is alive. I question Go Geon’s tactics though. His father ordered him to kill her on site so clearly the best thing to do is bring her back to the castle?? Given the King’s fragile mental state, I’m not sure why he told the him. Would the King be able to keep quiet? Does he even want the King to keep quiet??
At least we know that he chose the Royal Family. Despite liking Go Geon’s dynamic with Hae Mo Yong, I don’t like him much. I don’t really like Hae Mo Yong either. Though I did like her rather dramatic (and I think historically inaccurate) black hat.
Ga Jin (Pyeong Gang?) was so baffled at the kindness the villagers showed her. It was nice to see her smile. I suspect the village chief might know who she is.
I like that they showed the very real trauma that Dal carries with him, despite his cheery disposition.
I’m honestly enjoying this show so much.

A first love that was never meant to be the last
Start-Up (episodes 1 - 16)
One’s first love is always perfect until one meets one’s second love.
As I started Start-Up, I couldn’t help but notice how much hate was thrown at the first male lead in my social media and the overwhelming preference over the second male lead and I was very curious as to why. Unlike my other posts which focused on one or two episodes (or aspects) of the show, I started writing this post in my head with the intent to finish the entire show before fully making up my mind about the characters.
The first episode could not have set out a better story of first love between the young and lonely Seo Dal-mi (Heo Jung-eun, later portrayed by Bae Suzy) and the young and broken Han Ji-pyeong (Nam Da-reum, later portrayed by Kim Seon-ho). Except, Seo Dal-mi was unaware of the fact that her first love is an orphan and was made to think it was an intelligent boy, living a perfect life, named Nam Do-san. From the very first episode, you can see how the writers have tried to make the audience fall in love with Han Ji-pyeong, a sensitive, “good boy” who was alone in life.
But every episode afterward made me fall in love with the real Nam Do-san (Nam Joo-hyuk). While young Han Ji-pyeong caught my attention in the first episode, it was Nam Do-san who held it for the rest of the show.
Do-san had lived the fear that most, if not all, young people feel (most certainly, what I feel). Do-san constantly faced the fear and the anxiety of being a disappointment to his family. He felt as if he had reached his peak as a young student when he became the youngest winner of the math olympiad. But with that achievement came the overwhelming feeling of not having deserved the title and not being able to achieve anything greater afterwards. Do-san’s fear of failure extends to his company and his friends, as he feels like the reason why their company could not succeed and that he has failed his friends who worked alongside him for the past 3 years. Do-san’s tears and emotions throughout the start of the show were easy to empathise with, if not to relate with.
On the other hand, Ji-pyeong who was lost and had come from nothing as an orphan met his fortune when he realised his potential as an investor. However, Ji-pyeong’s talents would have come to nothing if halmoni Choi Won-deok (played by everybody’s halmoni, Kim Hae-sook) had not extended kindness and trust towards him. After reaching success, with an expensive car and an apartment overlooking the Han River, Ji-pyeong had forgotten where he had come from. Upon meeting Do-san and the rest of Samsan Tech in their dark, rundown rooftop office, Ji-pyeong looked down at Do-san and Samsan Tech. He belittled Do-san’s dreams and tries to pay Do-san off with money in exchange for a favour. Ji-pyeong, rather than paying the kindness he received forward onto a set of young entrepreneurs trying to find their way, pushes them further down with his harsh words.
Ji-pyeong showed a tendency of looking down on those he thought were beneath him. Taking the lesson from halmoni for granted, Ji-pyeong only spoke dismissive words to his subordinate, Park Dong-chun, and belittling words to Do-san, Chul-san and Yong-san of Samsan Tech. A great contrast to his way of speaking towards those he looked up to or halmoni who he owed a great favour to or Dal-mi who he had feelings for. His disregard of Samsan Tech is even more obvious when he deems Do-san as not good enough. Ji-pyeong had extended the lie by dressing Do-san in a suit, having him drive a convertible car and lending him an apartment with the view of the Han River. Perhaps Ji-pyeong had perceived Dal-mi as simple and needed Do-san to be rich and successful to be worthy of Dal-mi. But Dal-mi never asked for Do-san to be a hotshot CEO, all she had wanted was for him to be real and to find him.
And while Ji-pyeong was stuck in his standard of success, Dal-mi and Do-san were changing and learning from each other. Dal-mi had inspired Do-san to become more ambitious and even if it was a lie (to an extent), it was Do-san who had inspired Dal-mi to leave her comfort zone and reach for the “top floor”. They became tougher and more carefree (or in Dal-mi’s case, more careful) together.
As Do-san’s feelings for Dal-mi grew, the feeling of guilt over lying to her was slowly growing inside of him. The insecurity within him that Dal-mi liked only the version of him in the letters rather than the real him was becoming overwhelming. His mother’s words that the most hurtful thing was not knowing about him rather than what he did burned in his mind as Do-san resolved to tell Dal-mi the truth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Do-san felt inferior to Ji-pyeong, the feeling was mutual as Ji-pyeong felt inferior to Do-san. While coming to the decision to tell Dal-mi the truth, Ji-pyeong’s memories flashed with his jealousy over Do-san. It was the memories of the first time Do-san walked into Dal-mi’s life at the party, Do-san and Dal-mi laughing together at the rooftop, Do-san walking in as Dal-mi questioned Ji-pyeong and Do-san going on a trip with Dal-mi and halmoni that triggered Ji-pyeong’s realisation of his feelings and the burning desire to tell Dal-mi the truth.
Tumblr media
Do-san looked for Dal-mi after reading her letter. Do-san fell in love with the Dal-mi that was in front of him. But for 15 years while holding onto her letters, Ji-pyeong never looked for Dal-mi. And I question whether he would have realised or acted on his feelings for Dal-mi if the real Do-san never came into the scene.
Ji-pyeong was the perfect first love for Dal-mi. But after 15 years (and then 3 more years), Dal-mi and Ji-pyeong were not the same people who had written letters to each other through the birdhouse. The young kids from the letters no longer existed and for that, Dal-mi and Ji-pyeong’s first loves were not meant to be their last love.
