So I think it will surprise absolutely nobody to learn that I often get crossover ideas when I play a game or watch a movie whilst in the midst of a fixation on some other property.

I think y'all can read the title.

What isn't quite so common is when a legitimately good idea springs from said intrusive crossover dreams. Today's case in point: A Graffiti Artist Psychonaut

Imagine an agent who travels through mindscapes and specializes in fighting nightmares, phobias, etc. but doesn't do so through the normal means. Instead, they have to investigate the mind for memory vaults and then, based on said memories, create art pieces that help the healing process.

Milla's nightmares break free of their containment? BOOM! A wonderful art piece of her holding the children that died with a caption "You made sure they weren't alone to the very end".

Boyd's paranoia acting up again? WHOOSH! An image of an enlightened, peaceful Boyd with the caption of "Free your mind of worry and the truth will find you"

What's this agent's name? Well, I think I wanna leave that up to you to decide. I love the idea but I'm definitely not the guy to bring it to life... at the very least not without some serious help.

i love graffiti. "comics and jazz are the only american art forms" you forgot graffiti. did you remember graffiti? That art form birthed in Philly and NYC in the early 70s by poor Black kids. that art form that spread all over the world and influenced so many. that's used without irony in commercials when they're trying to appeal to a "young urban" customer.

did you forget graffiti? that racism broken windows theory victim? that reach the establishment takes claiming that it's exclusively violent gang members throwing up those full-color pieces and wildstyle tags in the middle of the night outsmarting fifty security cameras because the billboard was ugly anyway. as if, even if it was, it wouldn't be impressive as all hell. risking brutality and fall damage so your art can occupy the space a gentrified condo named something like "Coluumna" took away from you. proving that despite only assholes affording to live here anymore there's still a soul beneath it. an animal with dripping stripes and teeth that go clack-clack tsssss

there are QR code posters here in Melbourne for reporting graffiti to the council - and someone has been printing their own and carefully placing them over the official ones

they lead to a documentary on hip-hop/graffiti culture

it's perfect because the QR posters are uglier than any bit of street art
