Considering Xenomorphs took inspiration from parasitic wasps and moray eels, Jean Jacket took inspiration from cuttlefish and jellyfish, and Graboids took inspiration from bobbit worms, I think the best movie aliens should always take inspiration from the most fucked up parts of nature

Perfection - A Homecoming

Perfection Valley... a minor almost forgotten settlement nearly smack bad in the middle of the mountainous range that separates the deserts of Vacuo from the lush forest of Vale. Not know for much of anything, aside from creating hardy and self reliant individuals... like the Arcs and of course known to only a VERY few individuals in the know... home to an ancient predator that makes the grimm look like stuffed animals.

After a scroll call, Jaune leaves Beacon to attend to a family emergency, with Pyrrha by his side. But is the Four Time Mistralian Champion ready to face a monstrosity that Jaune's family has been keeping in check for generations...

So yall need to go watch "Tremors" its's a really good monster movie and it's really fun to imagine Lupin and Jigen in Val and Earl's place.

(if it's hard to tell in that 3rd panel, it's the monster's tentacle tongues flopping out if it's mouth. when I saw that in the movie I had a really fun time imagining Lupin being scared shitless at the sight of then)

Thanks to @never-ending-dreamworld I have found a way to have my demon worms the graboids in this fic!!

I just had to make a sort of sub species of them that preys on them…luckily the clowders only have to deal with the babies

The sub species of the Dirt Dragons (graboids) as the world calls them are Blood Dragons they are base off of leeches. They live in mires and swamps and mostly they only feast on Dirt Dragons since they are the biggest thing that has blood (as of right now I don’t know which else animals that are going to be in this world)

Shadowmire is the only one that has to deal with these bloodsuckers as a part of their territory is their nesting ground. Shadows are train with a keen eye to be quite and to get on land quick, to notice any large ripple in the waters and if they don’t? Well no one will hear their screams as their drag into the waters

Perfection - A Homecoming (Ch1)

Pyrrha rolled over in her bed, the incessant buzz of a scroll going off dragging her from her sleep. Rubbing her eyes, she sat up, and after a minute was able to zero in on the source.

Pyrrha: Jaune. Jaune. Jaune! JAUNE!

Jaune: (Startled awake) I'm up! I'm up!

Pyrrha: Answer your scroll! It's been buzzing for like five minutes steady. Your lucky Ren and Nora are spending the night in Vale, or you'd be buying a new scroll...

Jaune: And paying the fee for an all-you-can-eat pancake buffet. Okay, okay... (yawns as he reaches over and plucks the offending device from his night table) Huh. It's my mom, wonder what she needs to tell me this late?

Pyrrha: Just answer, please.

Jaune: (Swipes right and lifts the scroll next to his ear.) Hi, mom, what's.... No, this has to be a mistake ... there is no way that would happen to him!

Pyrrha rose from her bed as watched Jaune sit right up and start to breathe rather heavily. Unable to see clearly, she flipped on her lamp. Jaune's face was drawn and pale.

Pyrrha: Jaune, is everything okay?

Jaune: When did it happen? ... Was it at Perfection? ... Okay, okay, I'll make arrangements, give me a day. ... Love you too, mom.

Jaune hung up the call, and tossed his scroll on his bed, before leaning forward and burying his face in his hands. Pyrrha knew Jaune was upset, she wasn't sure what it was about, but she knew. Moving from standing beside her bed, she took a seat next to Jaune.

Pyrrha: Jaune?

Jaune lifted his face from his hands, and Pyrrha saw the wetness welling up in his eyes. Jaune was just barely holding on.

Pyrrha: Jaune?

Jaune: (Swallows and takes a couple deep breaths) I've got to go home. Something has happened, and I need to help my mom deal with it.

Pyrrha: Jaune, what happened?

Jaune: It's my dad... he was attacked... he... he didn't make it.

Pyrrha's eyes grew wide, and she slapped both her hands over her mouth. She could see Jaune struggling to hold it in. A mixture of rage and sorrow. Of anger and grief. Getting a handle on her own shock, she moved forward to embrace her partner.

Pyrrha: I'm so sorry, Jaune.

Jaune: It was bound to... FUCK!

Pyrrha: Jaune?

Jaune: I can't, Pyr. Not right now. I have to contact Professor Goodwitch... I... I need to go home.

Pyrrha: Jaune slow down, please. Slow down.

Jaune: I have to...

Pyrrha: I know, and I understand, but you need to focus. I'll call Professor Goodwitch for you, while you pack a bag and get ready.

Jaune: I can't. I'll...

Pyrrha: Jaune (sandwiches his face between her hands, so he was forced to look her in the eyes.) Let me help you. Please. Please.

Jaune slowly nods as he lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding. Pyrrha could see the tears starting to form in his azure eyes. She made her decision that second.

Pyrrha: And you're not doing this alone. I'm coming with you.

Jaune: You don...

Pyrrha: I'm coming with you. There is no discussion. I'm coming with you.
