#kingdom hearts dream drop distance #khddd #symphony of sorcery #scenery #my gif #i originally planned on splitting this set in two and wanted to create separate posts for both sides of this world #but i was surprised that i struggled with that and many of my shots didn't feel distinct enough when i put them all together #dunno how i messed that up so bad since this world has so much going for it #so i had to scrap a good chunk of what i made but i actually think it looks better this way so maybe it's not such a bad thing #sora's side is on the left (except for the last gif) and riku's is on the right #it gives you a better feel for how varied and different these magical realms are #and yeah that's what they're called #anyways i'm so glad this world exists because it's so experimental and different #everything from the visuals to the music and how sora and riku's battle sounds are instead replaced by more music #as if they're composing it themselves #which of course ties into how they must find and collect their sound ideas #it's all so incredible and works perfectly for a game centering around dreams #i hope we can see more unique worlds like it in future games too

Honestly, I don’t have a ton of recs. c!awesamdream fic is mysteriously hard to find, and I also wouldn’t want to recommend you anything super E-rated in case that’s not your jam. Personally I’ve had more success searching the Sam & Dream gen relationship tag than the slash tag. That said, here are my no-brainer recs, most are gen with some exceptions:

inosculation by @theminecraftbox - canon compliant, reflection on how their relationship progresses during the prison arc, how c!sam’s authoritarian tendencies bloom in pandora, and the weird symbiosis he and dream achieve. technically not a slash fic but like it is To Me!!

saltwater on rock by @elmhat - also not technically a slash fic but it is a fun exploration of their relationship post-prison: who are they to each other, now that they aren’t prisoner and warden? what power has dream reclaimed, what power has sam ceded? or is it the other way around? fun stuff.

the trees deny themselves nothing by @lookinghalfacorpse - if you’re asking for recs you’ve probably already read this one (it’s basically THE awesamdream fic at this point) but i think it lends itself to re-readability! and if you haven’t read it: dream loses his leg in pandora, phil n techno conscript sam to make him a new one after the jailbreak, things get interesting. OP also wrote a post-fic oneshot which you can read here.

everlasting evermore by @elmhat - incomplete atm and also not slash but definitely awesamdream vibes. sam is a sad widower king who interrogates dream in his dungeon so it scratches the fantasy itch. this fic does some cool things with the cloning lab lore and i’m really excited to see where it goes!

21 steps in the desert by @airrec - banger. it's short so i won't describe it in detail. banger tho!

scream eureka by @cgogs - basically a post-canon domestic horror fic, sam and dream are married (with a kid on the way) but neither of them is able to move on from pandora. this fic deals with issues of bodily autonomy very well and it’s also refreshing to see trans pregnancy handled with tact, rather than treated like a fetish or a joke. IIRC this fic is an AU of an AU so be warned, it does come with like 30 pages of background lore which isn't necessary to understand the fic but does make it easier to follow.

all these lives by @lookinghalfacorpse - reincarnation drabble, plays with sam’s obsession in fun ways. not really sure how else to describe this one but i reread it sometimes! it’s good!

you don't have to be like that by @dr3amofagame - incomplete, i haven't reread this one in a while but i remember enjoying it at lot! dream gives sam the book in a moment of desperation and then has to navigate the fallout.

accident by @airrec - another fave. concise, fucked up, and very well written.

i’ve also been working on a multichap awesamdream fic (am i allowed to rec my own fics??? is that too cringe??) that’s gonna be wrapping up soon. pandora's vault gains sentience, that's the whole plot. like most of the other works on this list, it’s not technically ship fic but it is very much about sam and dream’s...situation. full warning tho, it’s long and rambly and weird, sorry for that!

i also wanna add that pretty much any fic that explores the scrapped lore is gonna have to deal with awesamdreamisms by necessity, owing to the nature of, well, the lore. there's a decent amount of fics about it, here's one that I found recently and enjoyed a lot.

Have fun, mind the tags. And if you find more then by all means, feel free to add to this post! I know there's a lot of tumblr-exclusive content floating around out there that can be harder to find than stuff on AO3.

Also, it's worth mentioning that some of the most compelling c!awesamdream content I've read were brief interludes in fics about much broader subjects in the fandom; I've read a lot of great c!awesamdream moments in c!rivals fics, prison trio fics, c!dnf fics, etc. So my advice is to cast your net wide, if that makes sense? 2023 in review! I made an effort to try more things and it worked mostly (at least for TV and movies). New things, new-to-me things, and new installments of old things all had characters to love even if I didn't necessarily feel fannish about them, and I'm hoping 2024 does, too.

#but yeah no I had a lot of fun with some of these #mp100 is now fully going down as one of my favorite works of art ever. i mean it. i'd stick it on a shelf with discworld.#trying Nida Manzoor's work was SO GOOD like if edgar wright knew how to make girls lovable I meant to only try one episode of WALP #and then I marathonned it all in one night right into the sunrise and I do not regret it #(look I love edgar wright but)#i had my issues with GO2 and Fionna & Cake and HxH (which I finally tried yes I am late) but still they had babies in them #one piece and the last of us did like major progress for proving those mediums *could* be adapted and not suck so seriously kudos #I didn't go into Barbie expecting it to Solve Capitalism and The Patriarchy so I appreciate what it did do #Nimona was just gorgeous #Across the spider-verse is so good it's hard to say anything about it #Peacemaker is obnoxiously good and Chris's breakdown near the end really got me #Bottoms & Marry My Dead Body & Ying-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity are just fun okay don't think about it #the strange planet show was sweet and peaceful to watch #and even with a 40% budget cut OFMD has my heart and ed is The babygirl of all time for me #thanks for reading these tags if you did and I hope you have a good new year #art i'm proud of

hello everyone, I hope you're all doing great! just passing by to say i'm officially going to be a librarian :) follow your dreams kids

#took me a while but i got there! all on my own #quit my masters bc i had health issues and had an existential crisis moved out of my parents' to live with my sister #i didn't know what to do so i applied to volunteer in a retirement home i was paid a little and it literally saved my life #i found meaning and purpose again met incredible people and i still go there every sunday :)#but most importantly i met the director of the town's museum who recommended me to the library for a summer job #i got it and i loved it just like i imagined one of the librarian was retiring and she told me i should apply to replace her #so i did and after months of not knowing for sure if they would hire me i finally got the email! i'm starting in February #in the meantime i worked at a bookshop in paris which was also a cool experience #but i can't wait to start for real at the library #also did i mention the town i moved in (and where the library is ) is the town of my dreams?#it's calm there's a river and small shops and i also got an apartment with a balcony #2 years ago i thought my life was over i didn't think i would ever make it out #so if i can give a little hope to someone things do get better #i'd love to post again on this blog btw but i keep saying that and never do it 😭

My aroace experience isn't really focused on the lack of attraction to people in that way but in my devotion to other forms of love. I think I experience platonic love more intensly than romantic love, for instance, so rather than focusing on the small amount of romantic love I might be able to feel, I instead center my life more around platonic love.

I think this allows me the ability to not fret if I'm really aroace "enough" because I don't worry about if there is an amount of romantic/intimate love I can experience.

i am feeling emotions

#went out just with dad for work and there was an accident and i saw this man covering the eyes of his both kids like yk #trying to make them look away worried #and then there's us who haven't properly looked at each other for 15+ days now #more like i didn't but i had my reasons and we barely even speak except when it's absolutely necessary or academic related #and i was just hoping this got over soon so we'll not have to be so awkward and close to each other #and then i see those kids with their father it's like #when was the last time you ever voluntarily tried to protect me from something when it actually mattered or when it did not relate to your #dreams like i don't even remember having you in my childhood #like there was a man who visited us for a month or two in a year and i thought i knew him and i thought i loved him but all that love was #literally me trying not to get in your way or make you angry trying to be proper perfect adult child so once in a while you could and go #yes i approve of you #i remember asking you that when was the last time you actually willfully asked me if i was okay and your response was well you're never okay #so what's there to ask must've been a very small thing for you but it wasn't for me #and i stopped expecting after that dw but it's even worse now #sorrys come in form of food or books or indirect remarks but sigh why am i even thinking about this #dni #mine

I'm still grieving the dreams I lost due to my disability and I just added another one

#ones id already lost: wanting to hold any job at all. wanting to be a doctor. wanting to be a gymnast. wanting to play bass #wanting to be a therapist (maybe still possible? this is due to my inability to hold any job but im still hopeful i may be able to do this)#i wanted to go to school... i can still learn things of course but its harder and there's no community #i wanted to learn everything. everything about plants and animals and quantum mechanics and languages #everything about history and culture and sciences. but i can't. i mean that was never a realistic goal of course #but I cant get as close to it now as i wouldve if i was healthy #the one i recently added is discovering my fingers have deteriorated so much that playing keyboard is nearly impossible #thats been a lifelong dream of mine... even drawing hurts unless i draw with my finger. i cant hold a pencil without pain #like im figuring things out. working through accommodations and making new goals #but that grief is still there and the wound is still fresh and sometimes it just feels like its growing and it will never stop #i need too much that i cant have. I have so few options #i really dont know what kind of future there is for me if my pain and disability is already this bad in my 20s

Hey guys so I'm pretty sure I've mentioned I've been bouncing between this really cool farming game called Sun Haven and doing magic right so heh hih

I was looking into a spell I wrote a bit ago that I wanted to do and saw I could make a new magic circle with it.

I didn't have the space to draw it as largely as the original Algolian seal I morphed into a prosperity spell, so I left blank the middle text and a lot of alchemy symbols out.

Anyway for those curious about magic and using the Algolian seal as a magic circle, the breakdown is below. I'm probably gonna draw this circle on photoshop as well just so I have a better visual understanding of where I'm placing everything.

So yeah this already looks a bit different than the Algolian seal because I used both the Divine and Zodiacs, and I've also learned about things such as aspect symbolism in the circles 😅😁 I'm not going too into detail on what's what in this, mostly just how it's written. It is a multi target dream invocation spell.

"MUUT DITTS POUM" placements

These are the outer circles. The top circle closest to all the text is placed south, the circle below it is placed west, and the one on the right in between them is placed east. South and West faced circles contain Deities with symbolic colors of red and white. Blue is affinitive with West, but colors black and white are lucky where u can place them wherever and it counts. The east faced circle contains a non-divine target, which is why zodiacs are used. The Zodiac is affinitive with yellow and yellow is affinitive with east.

These positions are marked with candles.

The Ankh

Oh yeah. So. Hmm. Magic circles have an alpha and omega direction. Clearly the alpha would be between the Divine, and the target is connecting with the divine. So the. Hmm. The female part of the Ankh is the Shen, it symbolizes eternity. This is placed on the alpha side. The male part is the Djed, it symbolizes stability. It's placed on the omega side, connecting the two. I used this because it made sense to, given what all I was working with.

Photon Blast Placements

Uhhhh briefing a lot on this since it's mostly Divine beings. In a traditional circle this is where the names of angels, great companies/little companies go and I don't have reeeally that in my faith (or at least my section of it?) so I used other divine beings and their symbolism/aspect to fit these in appropriately. On the Zodiac side I used the targets rising and moon signs. Now that I'm here, they might be placed backwards but I'll have to look into that when it's not right now.

And now that I said that, I can say the Divine named in the rings are affinitive with a time pattern regarding aspects of stars/celestial bodies in the sky. Which is the closest I can get to copying angels, I believe. But again now that I'm here there might be some funky shit ima have to double check

The middle text

I will be keeping the same as the Algolian seal since it's fitting! 😀 "I wish it an alliance from several years ago, please protect us by virtue of you're the Great Light Power" yay I didn't need to look for words this time. (all those lines of purple text above the circle are the invocation its fine its likely fine I think they'll love this shit tbh)

Middle circle

Is a target, a candle affinitive with their zodiac is placed here.

I'm hoping to actually perform this on Friday as all energies with the day and moon phase will be in line but we'll see how my adhd and motivation hold up (or if I'm home) In meantime I'm going to try to shop a more proper image of the circle so I can draw it on papyrus later :3
