I can only speak as a person raised Catholic (heh...), but let me present a wild scenario.
Could you imagine the actual Holy Spirit having a clear and direct sentient influence in your child's life?
With this connection to the Holy Spirit, he starts performing absolutely insane miracles that a Child shouldn't be capable of and by the age of 8 God's chosen priest shows up like "Hey kid, have you heard of our lord and savior Jesus Christ? In my day, he was super sexy. You’re special. I'm going to train you and later you should probably go to a religious school."
And then, by age 17ish, Jesus himself shows up like, "Yes, twas me the whole time. Let me train you one on one my child." And then a year later, your son tells you he's sleeping with Jesus?
Like...does this help anyone understand what happened to Gale better? Or does it help that the Mystra analog is depicted as a man? Do you need me to hold your hand and tell you that even if Gale showed interest, it was on Mystra, as the omniscient god with all the power in the relationship and Future sight?!, to not fucking sleep with the mortal who maybe became an adult 5 minutes ago?

His Strange Addiction
part 2
Cody Rhodes x Fem Wrestler!OC (Melina Reyz)
Desc: Cody & Melina have had years worth of chemistry, Literally since 2010 up to Today, Cody & Melina had split off their relationship in 2015 due to him being on the road almost constantly & barely got to see her, but it wasn’t very affective for Melina like he thought it would be, because of the issue they had with their relationship she didn’t think there would be a future between them but she still had love for him. Melina has had a history with wrestling as much as Cody has & recently got signed in with WWE & barely paid any attention to Cody half of the time but Cody had been fixated on her since she stepped foot into the company.
Contents: Angst?? Fluff, Milena serving cunt, Cody begging on his knees for her back, Foul language, Drinking, Violence, etc etc. (Hope you don’t mind but smut won’t be included in this FF since I still need to work on writing smut plus i want this to be wholesome <3)
{~I'm very serious with you guys interacting with my writing!!!! it would make me so happy & excited, the more comments & reposts the more inspiration i have to write :) Votes and comments are strongly appreciated so please COMMENT COMMENT COMMENT COMMEENNTTT the more comments the more content <3!!!~}

Cody knew since the moment he called it quits with Milena that it would be an instant regret, he hated the fact that she would live her life without him present, he wouldn’t be there for her success, but he had no choice, he loved her with his entire soul & will to live but he didn’t want her to be stuck in a relationship where her partner wouldn’t even be present for anything over 24 hours.
It had officially been 9 years since the split up between Milena & Cody and he was absolutely MISERABLE, He legit did not want to feel the touch of another woman since Milena. He hated nothing more than the fact that he couldn’t have this woman near him for the rest of his life, it had gotten to the point where he was convinced he was trapped in some sort of Stevie nicks like love-spell.
Meanwhile Milena was doing fine, She was sad about it but at the same time what can you do!? She barely saw Cody, did it suck? Absolutely, but was she going to mope about it forever? Fuck no, she had things to do, a life to live & a career to focus on, after the breakup she was signed with AEW but as of recent? WWE just signed a contract with her, of course she would have to see Cody at some point in her life, it was to be expected, given the fact that were under the same company and wrestling entertainment business? Of course she would see him but she couldn’t focus on him.
Unfortunately for him, he had no fucking clue until he saw you walk past him backstage with Liv Morgan, at first he thought he was having a hallucination “what the fuck?” He muttered and turned towards Jey uso pointing in Milenas direction “You saw her to right?” Jey looked at him as if Cody was stupid “Are you fucking dumb? Of course I did.” He shook his eyed and walked off while Cody just stood there confused muttering to himself “When the fuck did she sign with WWE?”
Meanwhile she sat in Livs dressing room & helped her out with tightening her belt while starting conversation with Milena “Alright i’m just gonna address the elephant in the entire arena in the room, we all know about your history with Cody so why did you decide to contract with WWE if you knew you would see him almost every day of your life?”
Milena chuckled “Our breakup from over 9 years ago won’t determine my career path, I signed with WWE because they could offer me more benefits than AEW, Cody is the least of my concerns right now.” She addressed Liv’s comment before standing up straight. While adjusting her own outfit. “Good luck out there later Liv.” The WWE decided to mess with the split up between Cody & Milena by having Milena come out from backstage with Roman before his match against Cody.
Just as Cody finished his entrance in the ring Milena & Roman made the grand entrance, Cody looked at Milena directly in the eyes completely ignoring whatever roman was saying but he then heard his final sentence “I’m gonna let Milena decide what happens to your monkey ass tonight, Should he take a look at the championship or get his ass kicked.” Cody looked directly at Roman & Scoffed while Milena took the microphone “How polite of you roman thank you, really, but I think, since the American Nightmare himself likes to act all big and bad! Isn’t that right Cody? Then I think you should, Kick his ass.”
She announces while adjusting her women suit & Blowing a kiss at Cody before exiting the ring & strutting off into the backstage area of the Arena.
She knew this would have irked Cody she knew if it pissed him off enough he would beat the living hell out of roman & win the match & that’s EXACTLY why she did it, so he could win by his own anger.
She looked around for his dressing room while he was up in the ting & soon found it so she sat in there with here leg over the other in a chair, she watched the match through the TV in the room & smiled lightly as her plan was working,
After a good 30 minutes Cody stormed in his dressing room slamming the championship belt on the couch she sat next to & caught a quick glimpse of her & scoffed before leaning against the vanity looking at her through the mirror “Your a real piece of work you know that Mills?”
Milena rolled her eyes “A ‘thank you for helping me win and get my bullshit story to the beginning of the end’ would be fucking great Cody.” He glared and turned over to face her properly “You’re so full of yourself that it’s goddamn ridiculous.” She let out a fake laugh and stood up “oh I’M full of myself? Okay awesome let’s discuss the fact you dumped me because you were too famous & busy to actually give a shit, Your a fucking hound dog cody, a fucking DOG you’re not a man, you’re not the American Nightmare your a pathetic fucking hound dog!”
Cody glared at her once more and pointed his finger in her face “Watch your fucking mouth.” She squinted and before she could get a word out & talk back she found herself pushed up against a wall being kissed by Cody, for a few moments it was just pure making out but she soon pushed him off & cleared her throat “I gotta go.” And before he could even protest she was already out the door & leaving him in his lonesome.
-•-•-•-•-•-•-•--•-•-•-•-•-•-•--•-•-•-•-•-•-•-
The weekend soon rolled by & Milena had just arrived to Vegas for another wwe event being held and she immediately searched up and down, side to side for Cody. She looked around the locker rooms & saw him with Jey so she cleared her throat causing the two to give her their full attention “Um- If it isn’t a problem may I borrow Cody for a moment? I’ll give him back.” Jey nodded and pushed Cody towards Milenas direction, she grabbed his arm and turned a corner “Look I just want to talk about last wee-“ Cody held up a hand
“Let me guess, this is what you’re gonna tell me right?” He cleared his throat and started speaking in a high pitched tone “oh gosh, Cody, I’m really sorry for Running out on you last week, and I loved making out last week. Maybe we can try it again soon tonight in your bed?’ Absolutely, sweetheart I’m more than happy to accommodate your needs and do as you please.” Milena crossed her arms with an unimpressed expression “You’re not funny Cody, seriously.” He smiled teasingly and pressed her up against the wall “Oh but you love me don’t you sweetheart? It’s alright to admit it, I’m an irritating irresistible bastard aren’t I doll?”
Milena sighed and placed her hand against his cheek “Cody I can’t be with you, we both know this, you called the shots on that 9 years ago.” He frowned and pressed his hand against her “Baby that was 9 years ago, this is today, just let me redeem myself to you, please?”
She sighed as he crouched down onto his knees and looked up at her with pleading eyes as his hands ran up her thighs placing a kiss on-top of them “You have no fucking idea how psychotic I am without you sweetness, I feel like a goddamn lunatic without you.” Milena let out a soft hum and ran her fingers through his hair “Goddamnit Cody-“ he looked up at her but before they could do anything they heard a door shut and Cody shot up to his feet & smiled at her. “Meet me in my bus tonight alright? You can even ride with me to California & I can make it worth your while.” She huffed and nodded.
Later that night Milena knocked on his shuttle & the driver opened up the door with a smile “Ah!! There you are, Cody’s been waiting for you, he should be back there.” She smiled respectfully and walked in and went into the tiny little built in room & made eye contact with Cody “I hope you know I don’t plan on having sex with you right now.” He shrugged and grabbed her head “I don’t want sex sweetheart, that’s not the goal here.” For some reason she felt almost relieved hearing that.
“Look I know I fucked up big time breaking up with you but it wasn’t because I fell out of love, I just didn’t want to force you into staying in a relationship where I couldn’t be there for you when needed, that’s not fair to you.” He had a point, “I understand Cody I do I just- I don’t want to get my hopes up.” He frowned and cupped her face into his hands “You won’t baby I won’t do that to you ever again, we could be a team, you could go where I go now, hell we could even be in tag team matches together, all that matters is I will be yours, forever, nobody else , yours, my heart is you my goddamn soul is yours everything involving me including my goddamn body is all yours.” She sighed out and grazed her lips against his “I’m going crazy right now Cody..” he held the back of her head and stared down at her even though they were already close enough “I’ve been going insane since we split sweetheart so welcome to my world.”
She chuckled and smashed her lips up against his & laid down on the bed with him while the shuttle started driving.
The next day you were already in L.A, The show wasn’t starting until Atleast 6pm so she had enough time to walk around & spend the day with Cody at Santa Monica pier, But for the first half of the day he had to do press conferences so he decided to meet up with her at the beach, Milena wore some shorts a bikini top & some glasses while walking around but soon came across a daily news paper being sold, & immediately saw her & Cody’s face on the front of the paper & slowly picked it up & Smirked with a light scoff before pulling out her phone as one of the quotes said in black bolding “Is Milena Reyz Cody Rhodes strange addiction??” she snapped a picture of it and set the paper down before continuing her walk down the beach looking at a few stores before realizing Cody had snuck up on her with a plastic bag with what seemed to be burritos inside.
“Excuse me miss! I’m looking for a brunette woman the size of a midget have you seen her?” Milena took off her glasses & turned towards Cody with her middle finger out “wow so original, you’re hilarious, truly.” He chuckled and wrapped an arm over her shoulders as they both made their way to the sand & sat down “Got you your favorite, knew you liked California burritos so I got you one.” She smiled as he dug through the bag and gave her the burrito & then soon held a ring out in front of her.
“Cody-“ he covered her mouth and shook his head “No let me speak, Listen I know it’s soon but if we make this official today we can still count the last 9 years of us being together and just forget about the breakup, Milena my entire existence revolves around you, I only think about you. I am fucking addicted to you, so please for the love of god baby just take the damn ring put it on your pretty little finger & make me your husband or I swear to god I will book myself into a psyche ward because I am going fucking crazy without you.”
Milena felt her breath hitch & she started crying and laughing at the same time “You fucking idiot I can’t believe you’re proposing to me with a damn burrito & a ring.” She sniffled and kissed him passionately while he slipped the ring on her finger & laughed against her lips “Goddamnit I am so fucking in love with you.” He muttered while pulling her close as he couldn’t wait to start this freshly new chapter with his only girl in the world.

HOO girls with a S/O who is Nico’s sibling? possibly a similar personality? except that they like to pass the time doing lots of researching (like what new skeletons can they make? what were historical figures like? all that stuff, but it stills drains them and they dont really realize it cause they’re too focused) and stealing kisses from the girls. you dont have to do this request if you dont want to! have a great day :]
Sorry for the late reply. Tbh this was the request I was the most excited to get to! An HOO request? In this economy?? Unreal /pos that being said I had nearly the whole work deleted (I fell asleep writing and my phone didn’t save, so that’s on me) and this sat in my drafts as I weeped
Tumblr media
Though Reyna admires how eager you are to advance and improve when it comes to your art of necromancy, she still (on more than one occasion) gave you a stern talk, after you had completely exhausted yourself. You and she work well, Reyna likes having someone focused and driven to back her up and to talk to. However, she does like it when your more nerdy side comes out, there’s always a smile on her lips when you ramble. Anytime you still a kiss it comes as a surprise (since your demeanour can come off as distanced and gloomy, not overly affectionate) and flusters her greatly. Please, don’t do it around her camp because she will literally combust, she gets so red anytime it happens too
Tumblr media
Annabeth completely understands getting too focused on your research to do anything else, but she doesn’t let that stop her from reprimanding you every time that happens. A few times already, as you finally stood up from your papers and promptly fell down from your legs falling asleep and overall dizziness, she scooped you up and sat you on bed. She acts like it was not a big deal, but it’s so attractive every time. Even if she lectures you right after. However, she’s still willing to help you expand your abilities, or just learn history with you. This leads to many study dates that you finish with discussing your favourite new facts, that you just learned. When you try to steal a kiss from her she tries to act like she’s not flustered, sometimes goes like ‘really?😒🙄’ but it’s hard to hide the small smile forming on her lips. If she’s been missing you for some time, expect her to pull you back in, for a longer kiss right after
Tumblr media
The one it would take you the shortest to charm would be Piper. She likes all things alt and more on the edgier side plus she would find it absolutely adorable when you showed her your nerdy side. She has no idea when your on about sometimes, but still tries to contribute to your research by giving you books you might like and taking you on history-related dates (Annabeth gave her a list of cool battlegrounds and niche museums to visit with you). Loves to watch you experiment with your powers, she thinks it’s both weirdly charming how happy you get and also badass. If anyone would even try to give you a hard time because of who your father is, she would find them. You’re a totally iconic duo all around the camp. Since you had to be born in a different era to even exist, she quickly catches you up on pop culture and such. If you try to steal a kiss from her, she’ll get a bit flustered, but she’s also like, “game on” and it turns into a competition, which one of you can catch off guard the other one faster
Tumblr media
Though she may not completely understand your fascination with death (she supposes that it’s genetic, given your heritage) Calypso likes to listen to you talk about your discoveries. She’s far more interested and engaged when it comes to modern facts, but she’s willing to elaborate on things that happened in the past. She retells you tales from her visitors in exchange for helping her catch up with the times. If you had drained yourself out she’ll help you get back to health, it’s like a second nature. Brings you snacks and water too. Though she usually comments on how reckless you are with your health. If you try to steal a kiss from her she literally freezes for a second. Congratulations, you broke her. Even if she tries to play it off afterwards, she’s not fooling anyone
Tumblr media
There’s nothing Rachel loves more than painting with you talking in the background. Sometimes she even makes works based on your stories and discoveries. She completely understands how it is to get too focused on something you like to do anything else. Still, she checks up on you, undeterred by your gloomy demeanour, to see if you’re alright every time you lock yourself up with a book or two. She has totally asked you if she could decorate the skeletons, I take no criticism. When you steal a kiss, you always leave her with a bashful expression

Perhaps some headcanons about qPhil and the hardcore deities?
YESSS
qPhil headcanons masterlist
Okay so like, with all of these keep in mind my current personal headcanon/theory is that qPhil is hcPhil with his memory lost/altered by The Federation prior to arriving on the island. However it is that they got him, they wiped/suppressed his memory of his past just like other islanders and clipped his wings.
So TECHNICALLY these are hcPhil headcanons but also qPhil.
He's ofc closest with Rose. Unless you count Kristin as a hc deity. Rose was extremely fond and pleased of the way Phil would come along and take it upon himself to restore or touch up the builds that document the history of the gods, purely for fun and curiosity's sake. His love for the beauty of it all attracted her.
He's next closest with Ocean Overlord, though you'd assume otherwise because OO almost never personally connects with Phil in any way. No spiritual or supernatural signs, no personal talks or showing himself. (It's because the fool is sleeping or off catering to his whims). But Phil fishes a lot, and speaking as someone who practices witchcraft, you don't need to formally work with or worship a god to please them with the things you do. Fishing would be considered a devotional act to OO from a Pagan pov, so the fact that Phil does it so often and also cleaned up some of Flowerfall for him and Rose means OO likes Phil a lot. He's "a funky lil bird dude."
Phil is next closest with Blaze. She's also very hands off but deliberately so compared to OO. However, she still has a deep respect for Phil despite her distance and he admires the shit out of her in return. He thinks she's an absolute badass. His skills and wit impress her and his frequent visits to her domain and his love for her servants He & She amuse her. She's never seen a human so set on visiting the Nether frequently, let alone her domain specifically. Also he won't hesitate to take down a Piglin, and that's always a plus to her. (His gold farm pleases her deeply).
And ofc, of the deities we know of, he's least close with Ender King. Phil isn't exactly sure what specific event kicked off the way things are now, but EK just generally isn't something you want to mess with no matter what. EK probably disliked Phil from the get-go because he has friendly relations with the other gods, who all contributed to his failure & death. On top of that, the cave he rots in under Endlantis is like one of those haunted places you just Do Not Ever Go because it's very likely you'll go home with something attached to you (and Phil did). EK picked up on Phil's penchant for stealing & collecting cool things and how strong he can be (he has to be, he's a survivalist!) & did exactly that. He's been cooking on the potential vessel stuff since the day he met Phil.
Rose is the one who's always left him a sign of some sort that would confirm his assumptions about the history of builds and their relation to the gods. She never left him direct communication like she does with the books on QI bc she never intended to get that direct, but it's much harder to leave him subtler hints in a totally different world so she speaks to him via books instead.
I've said this before somewhere but basically the reason Rose (& EK, but him for malicious reasons) reached out to Phil on QI was not only to warn him of & protect him from EK but also to try and trigger Phil's memories of his life in the world he's really from and break him free of The Federation's meddling with his memory. She's had little success so far, kinda timed things badly given that the Feds had JUST locked him in the Birdhouse and fucked with his sense of reality. And EK kinda made that worse.
Ender King chose to officially act on his desire to possess Phil outside of the hc world because a) the other gods can't protect him as easily on QI and b) Phil himself is also nerfed and therefore easier to fuck with (thanks Federation <3)
Even now that EK's attempts to possess him are done with (for now), Rose is continuing to protect Phil and his family. She intervened when the Purgatory workers attacked, she'll intervene on other threats. But she only can if he's not around others. She's trying to keep herself secret from anyone outside the Death Family. Though she wouldn't be object to Fit knowing since he knows about EK. And she likes Bagi too. It's just easier to not start making tons of exceptions. Though overall, Phil is the one who's more strict about keeping the deities secret. Rose is more lax about it but acknowledges it's easier this way.
Part of why EK is the lil asshole that he is is bc he Knows Phil and Rose want the gods kept secret so he went out of his way to be like HEEEEY THIS IDIOT BIRD HAS A SECRET OOOO and intentionally made it look like it was a dark secret at that. Sewing mistrust among Phil's allies further isolates him and makes him an even easier target. : )
Phil has a feeling Blaze wants nothing to do with QI (and he's right). Any contact from her will be done begrudgingly and probably not until the Nether is opened bc otherwise she has to not only realm hop but world hop and that is more trouble than it's worth in her eyes.
Phil's honestly surprised he hasn't heard anything from Ocean Overlord while on QI yet. Especially post-reset. He lives beachfront more or less, he fishes a fuckton as of late, he goes on boating adventures often. And QI's whole shtick is that it's a vacation island or whatever, which is like OO's entire vibe. Phil's a bit baffled.
Semi-related, Phil's insistent that OO isn't JUST a bit of a sleepy or lazy idiot. That's a fucking god. Who rules the ocean. The unforgiving motherfucking ocean. He truths OO as a crouching tiger hidden dragon in terms of power. He thinks it just takes A LOT to piss OO off. (*side-eyes Ruthlessness from EPIC the Musical and wrings my little gremlin hands maniacally*)
Phil isn't entirely sure of the inter-deity relationships/dynamics and leaves it at "it's none of his business." They can tell him or imply it on their own time, if ever. All he knows is that Rose/Blaze/OO strongly dislike EK and that's all that matters to him. Anything else is assumption on his part and he's just Not gonna do that.
If he didn't want to avoid being asked 9487385728 questions from his friends, he'd probably have lil altars of some sort for Rose, Blaze, OO, and Kristin to honor them. And they'd maybe have an easier time communicating with him through them.
He's been wondering if/when the other deities reach out to him on QI if they'll ever make lil domains or something the way Rose has made her Sanctuary

@taznovembercelebration - Sweet
Look, it wasn't as if Taako liked Barry Bluejeans. That was a wild assumption to make straight off the back. This had layers. But if he needed evidence in like, a court situation, or something similar that totally wouldn't happen, where he needed to prove that Barry Bluejeans was awful and an absolute nerd and not good for Lup, he had three key points.
Number one: Lup had a bad taste in men. Granted, she said the same thing about him. But Lup had a very nasty history of choosing the guy whom Taako enjoyed being around the least. And that's not to say she needed to consult Taako every time she found someone new to date. Far from it! Actually, Taako was very glad she wasn't doing that. But from that guy who stole fifteen hundred dollars from them to the man who left the smell of cigars so deeply embedded in their sofa they had to get a new one, he was always very wary of whoever Lup was interested in next.
Number two: Barry was her colleague. From her job. Taako might not be an expert in the dating scene, but he was pretty sure that was a shitty idea. Sure, he seemed decent and nice at work, but who knew what this creep did in other places? Taako very much doubted that he volunteered at pet shelters or was working on curing cancer in his free time. The fact that he arrived in a large white van with zero windows besides the ones at the front seats definitely didn't help the vibe.
Taako didn't wish the man any harm. It was supposed to have been a quick drop-off- According to Lup, Barry hadn't been to work in the past few days due to his mother passing away. Understandable, normal. At least, probably normal, Taako wouldn't know. He was coming to give Lup the notes that he had for their project and then dip.
Platonically. Lup had very much stressed that this was platonic. Taako would have believed her if she hadn't stressed it so much that he started to doubt it.
Lup was still at work, of course, so Taako had to take them. Like a nice, kind brother would. She was making him chicken and dumplings later tonight so she wouldn't be in his debt. Again, totally normal sibling things.
So when Barry Bluejeans (Lup had to be fucking with him) knocked on their door, Taako answered.
Number three: Just like, look at the guy. He looked like a depressed oatmeal cookie. He looked like a grown-up Pillsbury Doughboy in jeans. He looked like if every Hallmark loser boyfriend was stuffed into one guy.
"Uhm, hey," Barry said. He sniffled a little. His eyes were red-rimmed. "This is for Lup."
He held out a thick, bright orange binder. Taako took it and almost, almost, faltered under the weight. Damn, scientists all must have some sick gains to be carrying around shit like this with them. But Taako took it and stood straight, trying not to look like he hadn't worked out since he barely passed his high school gym class.
"I'll get it to her," Taako said. Barry nodded, looking down at his feet instead of at Taako. Taako was strongly reminded of a kicked puppy.
"Thanks," Barry said, pathetically.
He didn't move. Neither did Taako. Barry looked up slightly, caught eye contact for half a second, and then looked down again.
"I'm, uh, I'm gonna get going," Barry said.
Thirty minutes later, Barry was sitting on Taako and Lup's new sofa and crying. Taako was patting his arm. There was a tub of ice cream in between them. Technically, Lup had told him not to eat it, because it was hers, but technically, this was an extenuating circumstance.
"I'm sorry," Barry said, wiping his eyes with one of the dozens of tissues Taako had given him. "I'll- I should get going-"
"You have said that three times in the last half hour, my man," Taako said. "Just accept that we're gonna eat all this ice cream and move on with it."
"Right," Barry said, with another sad sniffle. "I'm sorry, I'm not normally like this-"
"Uh-huh."
"It's just been really hard recently and I know I need to get back to work, but it's hard-"
"For sure."
"But I don't want Lup to have to do this project alone," he said. "That'd be super shitty of me. I just- I don't know what to do. Y'know?"
Taako did not, in fact, know. But he nodded anyway because the talking seemed to be helping.
"Listen," Taako said, slinging his arm around Barry's shoulders. "You're a tough little oatmeal cookie-"
"Th- thank you??"
"And I'm sure you'll get by just fine," Taako continued. "But you're right, leaving Lup to do all the work would be super shitty of you. No doubt. So maybe you can, uh, get out there and, uhm, make your mamma proud. Or whatever. Something like that. Not that she's already not proud of you. Or, uh, that she wasn't."
This was hard. Taako was bad at emotions. What about this guy made Taako want to comfort him instead of just shutting the door? Maybe Barry was an evil wizard using magic spells to lure both him and Lup into a false sense of security before he killed them or something.
"You think so?" Barry said, with such yearning and sweetness that Taako swore he was going to get a toothache. Lup liked this guy? This was the man Lup thought was funny and handsome, in a totally platonic and normal way, thank you very much Taako? This unseasoned piece of chicken eating all their ice cream and making his way through their issues?
He didn't sound like an evil wizard, that was for sure.
"Sure," Taako said easily. "I think that's how it works."
"Thank you," Barry said, his voice wobbly. "That'- that means a lot, Tah-ko."
"Taako," Taako corrected, patting him on the arm. "I'm gonna go get more ice cream. Gimme like, a hot sec and I'll be right back."
He got up from the couch and ducked into the kitchen before pulling his phone out. He shot Lup a text that said,
What are the chances that Barry Bluejeans is an evil sorcerer who runs off ice cream?
For someone who was at work, Lup replied very quickly with a,
Eight percent. He's too sweet to be a completely evil wizard. Maybe like, neutral evil, at most? Also, he's lactose intolerant.
"Goddamnit," Taako muttered.

ruling queens of númenor - headcanons and opinions:
tar-ancalimë: I think she made it very hard for any future ruling queens by being, well, an immeasurably difficult person. and people understood it was because of her shitty upbringing! - but it didn't make her easier to deal with and many felt she didn't even try to move past it... from a governing point of view, it was assumed by some that she'd begin prioritising women in political circles, but oddly enough she didn't? she made it pretty obvious what she thought of men, but she expected the women she interacted with to have the same opinions as her on the subject, and when that wasn't feasible she showed them even greater contempt than their counterparts of the other sex. and as queen... she wasn't a very bad ruler but made it way too obvious that many of her decisions were fuelled by spite, usually towards her late father and husband. in her life however, she was pitied as much as hated, though that pity didn't last for future generations.
tar-telperien: I feel like there would have been considerable mistrust towards her initially because of how tar-ancalimë was remembered, but she ended up being one of númenor's best loved rulers. she was a very fortunate mixture of majestic and warm, her one major fault being that she could be terribly stubborn at times, but somehow people were willing to forgive that. and yes, she never had a romantic liaison in her life, aside maybe from an infatuation or two when she was very young... also I think she had several younger brothers and very good relationships with them. there would have been a lot of space for conflict there because there was no precedence in númenor's history for a daughter with male siblings inheriting the sceptre, but ultimately relationships in her family were surprisingly healthy given what the former generations were like. there may have been some slight jealousy on the part of one or more of them, but they knew the law was fair and didn't let it show... also in a weird flashback to her sindarin ancestors, she had silver hair, hence her name
tar-vanimeldë: I don't really have too much to say about her... I feel she's been given something of a short shrift by the narrative, though otoh it's still more than we have for some other kings... much ink has been spilled about how odd the ratio of kings to queens is in númenor if we consider that the law was absolute primogeniture from ancalimë on. I believe jrrt just didn't think it through well enough, however it certainly encourages one to conclude that there was a bunch of eldest princesses that something happened to; my personal theory being that the fact a woman could turn down the sceptre without even a nominal coronation meant that it was very easy for someone to force her to decline... that said - I don't think vanimeldë was ever interested in ruling and I believe it was her more ambitious husband who helped her through that initial precariousness. she can't have been too glad once she realised he had basically usurped her (because people don't just steal the rule from under their sons without any iffy behaviour before that - or did hallacar invent some weird justification for the latter?), but I don't think she felt she could do anything about it.
tar-miriel: first of all, i kind of like that one version in which she marries pharazon of her own will. I'm not sure what that version goes on to say, but as I imagine it - first she agreed that they be co-rulers; her position was precarious enough, she believed it would be good for politics and she liked and trusted him. but he went on to steal the throne from under her and she never learned if that was what he had been planning to do from the beginning. the rest is history and her personal tragedy. what happened with sauron was not her fault, but she would lie awake at night and blame herself... interestingly enough, the faithful never did and around half of them believed she was forced into the marriage anyway... I have a lot more to say about her, in fact, enough that I think I'll make a separate post, but for now I'll only add that I personally headcanon that while tar-palantir stayed faithful to the end, despite the failure of all his plans, miriel chafed. her father understood that no one could force the númenoreans to change against their will (I mean I guess Eru presumably could? but obviously he wouldn't, because free will), but she didn't and felt betrayed... I think that she had to regain faith before the end, because otherwise it's too bitter a tale, to live through terror without knowing there is good one can rely on. the tale is bitter anyhow, but she did not die in despair.

I genuinely have not stopped thinking about the comparison that Holmes made between QSH and Olympus because it’s very easy to assume that Holmes is simply stating that Zeus and the gods have managed to create a utopia better than that of QSH which doesn’t erase the free will of the inhabitants nor does it micromanage them to the absurd degree we see QSH do, but really I think Holmes is saying that QSH would be unable to accept Olympus because it wasn’t made by human hands.
The comparisons between China and Olympus are very apparent: Ruled by a mechanical, all-seeing sovereign with total control over the planet who has said control even reach to the stars as they manage the populace to their absolute whim. However, the actual structure and management of these utopia are very fundamentally different because the rulers are fundamentally different. Europa calls out Zeus on the fact that humanity isn’t their companion, but rather their pet, and Zeus entirely agrees. Despite coveting and becoming attached to the names and titles and beliefs that humans have given Zeus and the other machine gods for generations, they still view them as wholly inferior to their own advanced selves. The gods of Olympus themselves are a fundamentally different type of being because things like death and emotions are child’s play for them to manipulate, because they themselves have never had those concepts applied to them. They don’t care how many they slaughter when trying to stop Chaldea because they can simply be revived, they don’t care what kind of pain they make their citizens go through because they can simply drown them in pleasure afterwards. The reason why we beat the gods with the Black Barrel isn’t just to destroy them, but because the Black Barrel inflicts genuine mortality onto these immortal beings. We see Demeter lose herself to her madness and grief because she wasn’t allowed to grieve, and we put her to rest. We see Aphrodite bitter and distant because she’s long lost any genuine meaning to the love she inflicts, and in her final moments is longing of Panhuman History’s Aphrodite who had her love live on past her death. The gods keep themselves intentionally distant from their own people because in Zeus’ own words he doesn't love them, but rather feels pity for them being such small beings, and simply wants them to be unthinking reeds who bend to the will of the gods so that they never have to struggle on their own, and to this end have not only robbed humans of their ambitions, but even of their right to die.
But Qin Shi Huang, at their core, loves humanity. Everything they do has been motivated from a love for humanity and the simple fact that they couldn’t handle the possibility of the humans they love so much coming into needless conflict and slaughtering each other. Their fear of Confucianism doesn’t stem from wanting to eradicate individuality, but rather wanting to minimize all possible conflict that comes from differing ideals. To this end, we see QSH essentially plan out everyone’s lives for them, the people live peaceful happy lives, they never starve or get sick, and always die peaceful controlled deaths. Anyone who is born with any artistic talents or talents in innovation are taken to the capital, where their skills are fully refined and preserved by the Emperor. QSH has continued to optimize and build upon their own immortal body not because they are afraid of drying, but rather are afraid of how humanity might fare if not under their careful planning. Compared to Zeus and the machine gods who settled onto Earth as a temporary base and molded the planet to their own benefit, everything QSH has done is specifically for the sake of humanity. The Lostbelt Depth of Atlantis and Olympus is A+ because it is as far removed from an advancing humanity as possible, but the Lostbelt Depth of China is E because despite the drastic difference, the world is being advanced by a humans hands. Qin Shi Huang see’s themselves as the only human in the Chinese Lostbelt not because they’ve erased the humanity of the people who live there but rather because they consider themselves not a single person but rather the empire itself. All of SIN’s citizens are in their own eyes parts of their own body. The difference in their Lostbelt managements stems entirely from how the Lostbelt kings feel about humans. Zeus doesn’t love humans, but QSH doesn’t trust humans. In essence, Zeus is an irresponsible pet owner letting his pets gorge themselves on treats while QSH is a preschool teacher making sure that their students don’t hurt themselves.
But fundamentally, the people of SIN do not pray. A running theme in Atlantis and Olympus is that the citizens either lived cursed lives waiting for the attention of the gods, or blessed lives where every prayer and minimal want is answered by the gods. People have lost the ability to be ambitious or think for themselves because every prayer they have is answered by the gods, and we see how that devolves into slaughter whenever the gods show their true colors throughout the Lostbelt. When we finally defeat Zeus and the people of Olympus fall and their homes are crumbling around them, they don’t try to help each other, or escape, or even accept their deaths, they only know how to pray, and die with those prayers unanswered. However, the people of the Chinese Lostbelt never pray. They all know that the Emperor is looking out for them, and trust the Emperors decisions. Yet, when QSH starts attacking with meteors when trying to stop Chaldea, they don’t simply stand by and accept it, but rather we see that even with the most blessed lives imaginable, the people of SIN feel fear, feel anger, and have never lost their human drive to survive, even wanting to rebel against the Emperor. Even in having lost their kingdoms do we see the differences shine. When Zeus was defeated, he opened a portal to Chaos because he wanted to take down the remnants of Panhuman History with him. When QSH lost, they accepted a loss with grace. A human can lose, even on their own terms, and learn from their mistakes, but Zeus as a perfect immortal unchanging god could not accept his loss at human hands no matter what. Even in their defeats are they different, because Zeus was defeated by an epic battle of epic proportions, but QSH was defeated because they learned that the humanity of Panhuman History continued to advance even with differing ideals, that almost everyone on the planet has a miniature computer where they share their ideas, struggle together, and advance regardless.
Fundamentally, the difference is that when the people of Olympus looked up to the sky, they prayed. When the people of China looked up to the sky, the Emperor sat beside them and admired the stars.

Luna Gets Even Bigger, Part I
Being pregnant with so many babies back to back has done quite the number on your body. You are truly enormous now. Getting pregnant with decuplets again at 350 pounds swelled you up to an insane 800 pounds on your due date. You lost 200 pounds that day in baby and amniotic fluid. Unlike last time, nursing your latest brood hasn't really helped you shed any of that baby weight because you're eating just that much to offset any calories burned by it, nor can you really look after either set of your decuplets because you can't really move quickly enough to keep up with them anymore. That's a duty largely left to your husband. You're still an absolutely staggering 600 pounds postpartum. You are wider than you are tall, and you're not even pregnant. Your figure has lost a lot of its femininity at this point. You've gotten so fat that many of your curves have blended together, though any reasonable person would still be able to tell that you're definitely a woman. Those hips of yours are doorframe-crushing, getting stuck every single time you try to venture out of your bedroom, which you don't really do much anymore because of the fact that you get stuck in the door frame so much. Your doctor is shocked that you're still mobile at this size given how short you are. He has recommended that you not get pregnant again, saying that you must lose at least 400 pounds before doing so if you really want to, both because he believes that you're almost certainly infertile at this weight and you would gain multiple hundreds of pounds due to your legendarily insatiable maternity-induced appetite. He thought that would stop you, but guess what? He was wrong.
You absolutely want to get pregnant again, and none of those aforementioned obstacles are going to get in the way of that. You know that even if you could get pregnant again, you could crest 1000 pounds easily. That actually spurs you on more, if anything. You have a history of pushing yourself beyond all reasonable limits in this department, why should any of that stop you now? This mama gets what she wants, and what she wants is another set of babies in her belly to swell her up and pin her down underneath them. I guess not all good things must come to an end, after all.
You find yourself moaning pleasurably at the thought of getting pregnant again, even at your current size. Your husband takes note of this, ready to service you at your beck and call. He hasn't been trying to get you pregnant again, but he knows what his wife wants. Even though you cast your doubts about your ever-ballooning figure to the side in the past, you're worried about your husband's reaction to your new body again. Surely he can't find you attractive now that your exaggerated feminine features have all started blending together. That was a good guess, but no. He is devoted to you completely. He may have to work a bit harder to satisfy you now, but satisfy you he does more than willingly. You're his wife, after all. And his wife always gets what she wants. He knows you want babies, and he's going to give them to you no matter what. He isn't without his own concerns, however.
One night, while the two of you are in the throes of passion, he asks, "Are you sure you want to get pregnant again? You're absolutely gargantuan. I don't know if you'll be mobile again if you did."
Your response, while uncharacteristically aggressive, is the only one you could have possibly given.
"I DON'T GIVE A FUCK! YOU'RE PUTTING SOME BABIES IN ME AND THAT'S FINAL! I COULD BREAK DOWN THE WALLS OF THIS HOUSE BY MY SHEER SIZE ALONE AND IT STILL WON'T BE ENOUGH FOR ME! YOU'RE GOING TO FILL MY BELLY WITH BABIES WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT! NOW BE A GOOD BOY AND DO YOUR JOB AS MY BREEDING STUD!"
That proverbial kick in the ass he just got from you was just what he needed. He certainly did do his job exceedingly well, but finding out exactly how well he did that job would have to wait.
(continued in Part II)
WOOOOO YEAH BABY THATS WHAT I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR, THATS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT!!

The main reason a lot of people hate the season is because the trailers set up a different vibe than what we got. Which is true for the most part, all of the trailers had content from the first 3 eps, which did leave the rest of the season in the dark. But the other 2 season's trailers were kind of the same.
People didn't know what to expect aside from the fact that Din and Grogu are gonna be venturing around together. A looottt of people really wanted more of just the two of them. Nothing really showing that Bo was gonna have such a huge role in the season, and she's not the most liked character to begin with.
Plus, the story is a bit more iffy than the past 2 seasons. It's Star Wars so it's never gonna be 100% great dialogue or story-telling (Guns for Hire is a big example of that, I know its your fav, I'm sorry). At the end of the season, there were still a few major questions or instances that were left unspoken about and completely ignored/forgotten about. I've seen some complain about the pacing of each episode, but like you said, the other 2 seasons have Din doing literally nothing but side missions.
I remember a bunch of hate on 'The Passenger' because it was "filler" but that's one of my favorites simply because of Din and Grogu.
I've also seen people say they'll be happy with "just ANY more Din content" but turn and complain when they get Din content 😭 The fandom was really confusing this season.
Anyways, I enjoyed the season as well but I do understand the gripes people have with it.
Thank you for sharing! I'm gonna dissect some of this and it has nothing to do with you at all; I'm so grateful for you shedding some light on this, because I do try to distance myself from Mandalorian negativity as a whole.
The trailers setting up a different vibe has definitely been happening since the beginning. I mean, season 1 left out Grogu completely, so that left the entirety of the show in the dark going into its premiere. Season 2 didn't have any, and I mean absolutely zero, footage from any episode past Chapter 12. A similar technique was used for season 3 and honestly, I appreciate it, because it keeps surprises! I can see why it would frustrate people, though.
Bo's bigger role this season was something that was implied with an adventure to Mandalore. Anyone who's come to love the planet from the animated series knows that she'd have to be involved in a large way just given her and the planet's history. I also realized it when I saw the end credits of Chapter 17 and Katee's name was under "starring" with Pedro's rather than "co-starring." Again, though, I can see why it was disarming for others.
I personally don't see how the story was "iffy." Key word is "personally!" If anything, to me, it felt more cohesive than season 2 and in some ways more than season 1. Much of the fandom today wasn't around for season 1 when we got Chapters 4, 5, and 6 in succession and fans were complaining about each one being fillers and having absolutely no advancement of the story. Season 2 just had the same thing every episode for the first 5 episodes, with Din asking for information and being asked to help with something before gaining that information.
Season 3 had a lot less of that; Instead, the mystery of Mandalore remained throughout the season, as well as the question of who's going to lead and how are they going to retake the planet. Din had an arc (thinking of himself and his redemption only to becoming a true father and a leader), Bo had an arc (hopeless and unmotivated to the unifying leader of Mandalore), and even Grogu had an arc (reluctant Mandalorian foundling to a confident apprentice). The theme was said by Bo in both seasons 2 and 3: Mandalorians are stronger together. Each episode was a step towards unity; Din on his own, then unifying with Bo, who then unified with Din's covert, who then unified with the remaining Mandalorians to retake their planet. It was a beautiful story to me, honestly.
Now, Guns For Hire? Yeah, I'll admit, it's an outlier. But it's fun, and it still served a purpose. Let's not throw out the last 10 minutes just because of what happened in the first 30. It showed that Din is still a complex character with droid trauma and it had some fun prequel callbacks as well as cameos. It was just a fun time to be had before the excitement and heaviness of the last 2 episodes.
I didn't mean for this to turn into an essay HAHA but again, thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my thoughts on what people have said about this season! At the end of the day, all media is subjective, so I can see why people didn't vibe with this season and I respect it even if I don't really understand it because of my own feelings for it.

So I've been playing Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology lately and I have many thoughts that plague me
Spoilers under the cut
All of this is from reaching both basic and true ending, the PC ending with the singularity, all side quests, possible history quests and no second run with clear data for the extra ending. Also I played it on friendly difficulty and it's a good thing I touch at the end of my thoughts.
I mostly want to ramble about the different characters in the game, in somewhat of an order so I'll start with my dear boy Stocke.
I really liked Stocke. He's not particularly chatty, but we get to see a lot of what's going on his mind through the story, including every decision he has to make that can lead to a bad ending and he ends up very well-rounded by the time of the ending. He clearly grows to care a lot about everyone around him, which makes his fate particularly cruel when it's only because he made all these connections that he can be the sacrifice, but it's also the reason why his sacrifice is such a heavy blow for the others. His status as a man whose soul hasn't been his for a long time unbeknownst to him heightens the value of his growth as a person and as a friend, showing how he could still grasp the opportunity to see value in the world beyond himself and his own lifespan (that was technically over since quite some time). He's willing to use the power at his disposal to try to get the best outcome for anyone he can help, even when it seemingly doesn't do much for the world at large, he's just really helpful. Stocke is also very funny to me in the many ways he deals with his time travel. Especially in the ways he casually transports a bunch of items through the timelines, and never explains how he knows information he has absolutely no way of knowing at the point in time he's in. He also doesn't seem to question the fact that there's a big part of his life missing, or at least that's what I understand the Ernst memory wipe as, and seems to just adapt to whatever the timeline has in store for him at any given time. But he's also a Sad boy™ and deserves the world for everything he's been put through. Especially having to kill Rosch that one time.
Ah, Rosch. My poor sweet bulky boy whom I really tried to use every time he was available but it seems it was never enough and even in post-ending he's not quite caught up. The mana spring dlc also shows just how big his armor truly compared to his actual body and I respect the huge suit of armor that makes his silhouette a little silly. I wasn't a big fan of his romance with Sonja at first until the alternate history in Celestia and his bigger arc, where we get to see some more of them that made me appreciate them more (and Sonja upgrading his Gauntlet has to be some of my favourite interactions between her, Rosch and Stocke).
Raynie and Marco are cute as characters Stocke is close to but I really couldn't care less about Raynie's romantic subplot, or her in general. My interest in her never rose higher than my interest in her gameplay, which is thankfully fun to me so it doesn't feel like she's wasting my time. Marco was a little better, especially with the Mimel sidequest where he shows another facette of himself in the bad ending where he goes nuts and I respect that. But ultimately, they're only involved at first because Heiss made it so, and neither their past not their relationship to Stocke or the others was delved into all that much, which is kind of a shame given how present they are during the game.
Which bring me to Heiss. Heiss' first appearance just threw me in a loop of "wow, this guy is so obviously evil but he called Stocke his best boy so now I really want the game to surprise me with a turn of events where he's not one of the Big Bad™. I really wish I could trust this guy in the slightest but that character design is screaming EVIL very loudly". He then proceeds to turn out to be the main villain. Except he still very much cares about Stocke, and always has, even when his other intentions are very nefarious. And even at the very end he still cares about his favourite nephew. And I'm a sucker for that kind of character development, so needless to say Heiss now lives rent-free in one of my mental tabs that run in the background on my thoughts. He does have one portrait where he looks down, in a content but sad way, as if reminiscing of a happier past and it really gets me every time. I did not expect to care so much about the guy, yet his character arc really did it for me. From the bitterness cranked up to eleven by the Black Chronicle's past owners and his huge soft spot for Stocke to his own actions of granting Stocke a chance at a non-royal, non-sacrifice life that he himself never got as Heinrich being the key to the only positive future there was for the world ? Gorgeous arc ! Until the true end where he just never gives up on the only thing he truly cared about, Stocke's future. The PC ending where he joins forces with Stocke, Nemesia and the others was also a satisfying moment, seeing how he's reminded of when he went on adventures with Ernst (again with that softer portrait I am very weak to), along with one of the possible histories where you get the key to his desk (which had plagued me from the moment I tried to snoop around his office much earlier in the game) and it contains an old portrait of Heinrich and Ernst, probably the only trace had kept from that part of his past, showing that despite all the scheming and lack of remorse on other fronts as the main villain, he's still an old man whose life was never completely his own, and who tries to break the cycle for the one person he cared about who was condemned to the same fate. In other words, Heiss is absolutely a magnificent bastard but also very human underneath and I am not immune to that.
On the other hand, a character I had to warm up to gradually was Eruca (I've seen her design from the DS version and I feel robbed, that little sprite had so much more personality !). She starts out kinda generic, as the princess stuck under the terrible reign of her stepmother who secretly leads her dead brother's rebel group, and I only started garnering interest when she joined the party and was armed with a gun. I had gotten a gun before but had no idea they were for her, and it was extremely refreshing to see how she fared in combat despite her lower availability. Her relationship with Stocke was also made so much better by that one moment around the end where it goes back to their first time meeting in standard history and shows exactly what she was dealing with when interacting with Stocke, knowing full that he not only was her dead brother living with a borrowed soul, but also had yet to be aware of his role in the grand scheme of things. I was afraid the whole ritual bit would get in the way of her character development but it didn't and she ended up being one of my favourite characters in both story and gameplay. Ice magic nukes are very nice.
Aht is adorable and I knew she'd be in my top three from the moment I saw her in the animated opening in which she gave me some Just a little guy™ vibe which is sufficient for me to be interested. Her voice acting was also very endearing (then again all of the voice acting worked really for me) and she was just as fun in gameplay with her trap set-ups and big combo potential. And then the story dropped all sorts of hints that she clearly was aware of something very big and plot-relevant and that really makes her go from Babsie™ to Tell me your secrets you adorable little scoundrel™ and that's absolutely my jam.
I wish I had a stronger opinion on Gafka. He's pretty neat, I like the combos he brings to the tables, the way he learns additional skills with Bergas makes sense to me and is cool, but I wish his character spoke to me more. The one thing I would say about him is that he has this trait where he has a hard time distinguishing humans and uses nicknames based on other visible parts of them, but does eventually come to recognize Stocke with his name instead of "Red One" and that's a new bit of development he got there.
I wish Viola was playable. Girl's got so much potential with a title like the Valkyrie but only gets so little story presence, but she's a highlight of every scene she's in and that's fine by me. I find her design very soft yet powerful and inspiring, as befits a character with her renown and charisma.
I can also say I really appreciate Raul, he's not the most appealing character at first, but the genuine effort he clearly puts in supporting however he can from the back lines and devising all of the larger scale tactics and stuff really elevates him as guy who's trying to make the best out of a bad situation where he can't turn his back on people who need help he can provide after not opposing Hugo more directly even though he suspected him to be up to no good.
Speaking of Hugo, he has me a little confused on what exactly his motives were, where his loyalty lied and what he was really trying to accomplish, especially regarding Noah and the possible histories surrounding him. I'm not a fan of letting him around with Noah and not facing more consequences for his actions. Noah himself is also a little weird, being both this mysterious prophet who just wants what's best for his people and this calm guy who seems to know more than he lets on but hasn't really tried to stop Hugo or find another way to reach the people without his name being exploited. I wonder how he could've affected the timeline if he didn't just vanish from the public eye after the possible history that saves his life in the alternate history.
Dias and Selvan are most definitely meant to be read as an evil power couple. You can't throw in a sidequest where it is shown they get a hotel room in the middle of the day and Selvan immediately resorting to threatening to kill a little girl the instant he sees Stocke menacing Dias, and not tell they're not in some kind of very close relationship that is never described as friendship, not even once. Also they'd seemingly betray anyone in a heartbeat except each other and I will read the subtext as I please. There is also that one line from Selvan in alternate history when Dias is dead and he says something along the lines of "But now Dias is slain, and I am broken". And that's without mentioning the possible history where they didn't set Protea up as queen but Dias directly, and an NPC says that "Dias wears the crown, but Selvan might as well sit on the throne" and I'll gladly interpret it as Selvan sitting on the throne with Dias on his lap. Moving on.
Friendly difficulty is a godsend that should be in many other games. I love being able to progress rapidly through the combat heavy parts of the story and only be forced into important fights which I can appreciate without wearing down my gameplay experience. I cannot show grateful I am to be able to enjoy the story to the fullest with no downsides in my opinion. It even gives me a reason to someday try out the DS version to experiment with combat a little more, and also see the game in all its original stylized glory (mostly Stocke's grittier self, Eruca's pixie cut, Heiss balding forehead that makes him less magnificent of a bastard and Dias looking less evil for some reason)
I also intend to finish RHPC with my clear data to see that final final ending, just to see what it brings to the table.

God bless you too! Happy Halloween to you too! :)
1: on Halloween in the past, have they ever wear matching outfits?
2: I know that they are scared of horror movies, but what about games? I can see them playing fnaf and maybe poppy’s playtime. Also, been playing the new Alan Wake 2 that just came out and it’s really scary, I can see the duo wearing their pants playing this game.
3: how did they get their teddy bears? Super bear for Chris and batbear for Jake.
4: would they ever get tattoos?
5: is Jake in a sports league at school or outside of school? I can see him in basketball making the winning score by slam dunking the ball last second or throwing it Across the court.
6: what’s Chris relationship with your version of “the flamebird owner?” (Forgot her name)
Thanks so much friend @gothicghost2000 It’s very appreciated :-D
1. Well, actually they have. Primarily once upon a time, they were both blue Crewmates from Among Us that had Mini Crewmates besides them. They won that year’s Costume Contest, barely beating out Lian who was Anna from Frozen
2. It really depends on what type of horror game they’re playing at that moment. While they’re relatively sensitive to jump scares, Chris and Jake own nearly every single FNAF game and on some occasions, tried out the 20/20/20/20 setting on each of them. Key word being ‘tried’ as they haven’t reached Night 5 on that setting. Another game that makes their spines chill but they’ll play nonetheless would be Dead Space I and II as it offers plenty of atmosphere and action to keep them going. As for Alan Wake, that scenario would seem likely but thankfully the two are able still play it (probably the fact the Duo hold it in until the pause button is pressed and then they rush to the bathroom helps)
3. Chris was given SuperBear during his first Birthday after being adopted by the Kents, stitched up together by Grandma Martha. Originally she had in mind that Chris and Jon would share SuperBear together but Jon was okay with Chris having the plushie to himself as he’s got over toys to more than make up for it. As for BatBear, that was made by Alfred originally as a present for Mar’i on e her first birthday, to compliment with her other plushie which was previously owned by Dick before he gave it to her, Peanut the Elephant. Once Jake was born, Mar’i felt it was only right that he can have BatBear while she can keep Peanut in her own then-new Big Sister sort of way. Thus are SuperBear and BatBear with their respective owners ever since then.
4. Nope. Absolutely not, Under NO Circumstances. Chris and Jake even at their most rebellious moments as teenagers have it perfectly down not to do so, less than they face the wraths of Lois and Dick. Lol
5. Jake is no doubt enrolled in Bludhaven Academy’s resident Little League team, the Nighthawks, having been already promoted to second in command of the team, only behind said team’s on court captain and of course the Coach. He’s mainly the team’s best Shooting Guard as his rather uncanny abilities to intercept the ball and score many points for his team are vital assets on the court. Already by the time he enters 5th grade, he has helped the Nighthawks make it to the Regional Championships about two times. The first time they won second place, only due to Jake breaking his ankle mid game and needing to be removed. The second time though was a solid victory, the first one in Bludhaven Academy’s history.
6. Thara and Chris are a pair of very close friends that for reasons even they can’t firmly explain to each other, they have this budding and passionate feeling from inside of them whenever they’re close. They both come to each other’s help in case of any local troublemakers and pranksters targeting them and they’re commonly placed into groups during class projects. These interactions, in sprite of themselves, have brought Chris and Thara closer together and find common grounds with each other on many things from the mundane like their thoughts on their teachers to the interpersonal including Chris being emotionally supportive to Thara during moments of her family history prior to moving to Earth getting to her. The fact the two are also apprentices of Dick and Bette Kane respectively further solidifies it.

Fire Emblem Three Houses: Which Ending is a Happy (or most Fulfilled) Ending(s) for Bernadetta in Fire Emblem Three Houses? (ALL ENDINGS INCLUDED)
Not all character endings are happy ones. Some don't accomplish their goals, there are those who don't completely heal from trauma, or they're overshadowed by someone they're paired with. However, There are also those who accomplish their goals no matter what (Ex: Ignatz being a painter) or seem content with how things went for them.
I'm mostly not going to discuss supports (meaning compatibility between characters or the most romantic) since that's not what this is about. It's about which endings would be the happiest for a specific character or what makes them more fulfilled (you can choose more than one).
Recap: Dedue
Ingrid
So right now, we are going to discuss Bernadetta. Due to the abuse she suffered from her father in attempts to make her a "perfect wife", she developed a fear of people to the point she'd rather stay in her room all day. Some endings she'll heal from her trauma and grow as a person but in other endings she'll still remain a shut-in.
Before you read the endings, I should bring this up. After Edelgard ascended the Adrestian throne, Bernadetta's father was placed under house arrest and was stripped of his title, remaining in this situation during the Crimson Flower. In the Verdant Wind and Silver Snow routes, Count Varley is released from his arrest after Edelgard's death and resumes control of House Varley, though if Byleth talks to Bernadetta, they are given the option to either restore his house arrest or exile him. So he gets screwed either way.
Bernadetta
Endings
Bernadetta - Eternal Loner
"As soon as Bernadetta inherited House Varley from her father, she withdrew from all political discourse and focused solely on the management of her own territory. Because of this and her penchant for spending long periods of time in "hibernation," she became known throughout the house's history as the "Bear of Varley.""
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: I don't think so. I think "long periods of time in "hibernation"" is another way to say that she's still a shut-in.
Is this a happy ending for Bernadetta, no, or so-so?: On one hand, she doesn't grow in confidence but on the other hand, her father gets no benefits if she remains single.
Bernadetta and Byleth (Crimson Flower)
"Almost as soon as Byleth and Bernadetta were finally wed, the battle against those who slither in the dark began in earnest. Many were concerned that the new leader of House Varley would do little more than hide, but she fell in alongside her husband and followed him everywhere, fighting to bring lasting peace to Fódlan. Forced to throw herself into one terrifying battle after another, Bernadetta developed such a tough character, it is said that absolutely nothing could frighten her."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: Yes.
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Byleth, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: Both, Bernadetta managed to get past her fear and be more courageous thanks to her accompanying Byleth on his many expeditions to stamp out those who slither in the dark. Byleth gets a partner who fights beside him against Those who Slither in the Dark and might have a place to settle After the war.
Bernadetta and Byleth (Azure Moon)
"After taking on the role of archbishop of the Church of Seiros, Byleth announced his marriage to Bernadetta. Many were concerned that the new leader of House Varley would do little more than hide, but she in fact followed the archbishop wherever he went and provided him with constant counsel. She never did overcome her shyness, however, and it is said that aspiring advisers who frightened her were quickly turned away. Because the ones she liked performed well in their service to the church, Bernadetta was widely believed to have a discerning eye."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: ??? (She's still shy but not a total shut-in.)
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Byleth, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: Maybe Both. Bernadetta might still be shy but she might have room to grow, especially since her father isn't around. Plus she's able to assist Byleth in a way.
Bernadetta and Byleth (Verdant Wind / Silver Snow)
"After ascending the throne as the first leader of the United Kingdom of Fódlan, Byleth announced his marriage to Bernadetta. Many were concerned that the new leader of House Varley would do little more than hide, but she in fact followed the new king wherever he went and provided him with constant counsel. She never did overcome her shyness, however, and it is said that aspiring advisers who frightened her were quickly turned away. Because the ones she liked performed well in their service to the people, Bernadetta was widely believed to have a discerning eye."
Bernadetta and Edelgard
"When Bernadetta inherited House Varley from her father, she tried to withdraw from politics and remain within the bounds of her territory, but Edelgard, the new Adrestian emperor, would not allow it. Instead, she demanded that Bernadetta counsel her in governing Fódlan. It is said that the emperor made this choice to keep herself from being too detached, and that Bernadetta was all too happy to provide a more emotional perspective now and again. The people of Enbarr could always tell when the two were meeting by the sound of Bernadetta’s panicked voice ringing out from the palace."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: ??? (It didn't say she grew confident but it also didn't say she's a total shut-in)
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Edelgard, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: Both. While Bernadetta didn't grow confident and tried to remain secluded, Edelgard instead gave Bernadetta a place within her Empire. Thanks to Bernadetta, Edelgard might not fall back to a too ruthless/detached mindset. Also, remember Edelgard placed Bernadetta's father under house arrest and was stripped of his title. So I'd like to think that there's another motive for Edelgard having Bernadetta give her counsel. Not only to keep Edelgard from getting too detached but to protect Bernadetta from her father, if he's still in house arrest.
Bernadetta and Hubert
"The marriage between Hubert, Minister of the Imperial Household, and Bernadetta, leader of House Varley, was so surprising to the public that it was much talked about even outside of political circles in the capital. Bernadetta took the opportunity to survey the far reaches of the new Adrestian Empire, and in her absence, Hubert took well to the management of Varley territory. They proved to be an astonishingly good match, working together to protect Fódlan from the shadows. It is said that they showed their affection for one another by wearing matching embroidered flowers."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: Maybe Yes (While it didn't say she grew confident, it also didn't say she remained shy nor is she a complete shut-in.) (Read the next paragraph for more info)
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Hubert, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: Both. Again, while it didn't say she grew confident, she didn't remain a shut-in either. It said that "Bernadetta took the opportunity to survey the far reaches of the new Adrestian Empire, and in her absence, Hubert took well to the management of Varley territory." Which means she's able to get out of the house and grow to have some independence (it might imply growth in confidence and as a person.), while Hubert watches over her territory for her (plus, if Bernadetta's father is still in house arrest, Hubert might scare him to the point he leaves Bernadetta alone. Haha.). Also Hubert might've moved on from his feelings for Edelgard.
Bernadetta and Ferdinand (Crimson Flower)
"After the war, Bernadetta renounced her claim to House Varley. She married Ferdinand, the new Duke Aegir, and the two contributed to relief efforts by instituting reforms across their Dukedom. Due to the success of those policies, Ferdinand was offered the position of Prime Minister by the emperor. He accepted, leaving the management of Aegir territory to his wife, while he worked to apply their ideas to the Empire at large. Since Bernadetta did not like to leave home, Ferdinand's life involved a lot of travel to and from the capital, but it is said he always embarked on his return home with a smile on his face."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Ferdinand, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: For Ferdinand, yes. Ferdinand aspires to be the next Imperial Prime Minister as the head of his family is traditionally one. But he also wants to make up for his father being a corrupt one. He succeeds in being a good one here. As for Bernadetta, it depends on the viewpoint. She doesn't like to leave home, which implies that she hasn't healed from her trauma, the only good part in this is that she renounced her claim to House Varley meaning her father doesn't get any benefits from her marriage.
Bernadetta and Ferdinand (Other routes)
"After the war, Bernadetta renounced her claim to House Varley. She married Ferdinand, the new Duke Aegir, and the two contributed to relief efforts by instituting reforms across their Dukedom. Due to the success of those policies, Ferdinand was offered the opportunity to help govern all Fódlan. He accepted, leaving the management of Aegir territory to his wife, while he worked to apply their ideas to the world at large. Since Bernadetta did not like to leave home, Ferdinand's life involved a lot of travel, but it is said he always embarked on his return home with a smile."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Ferdinand, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: For Ferdinand, yes. Ferdinand's belief is that it's nobles' duty to protect and elevate the commoners they are supposed to be shepherding. While he doesn't get to be the Imperial Prime Minister in this, he gets to be in a position where he can help. As for Bernadetta, it depends on the viewpoint. She doesn't like to leave home, which implies that she hasn't healed from her trauma, the only good part in this is that she renounced her claim to House Varley meaning her father doesn't get any benefits from her marriage.
Bernadetta and Linhardt (Crimson Flower)
"Linhardt and Bernadetta caused quite the stir after the war when they abandoned their inherited titles and eloped to Garreg Mach. Returning to the monastery, where they were always most comfortable, the couple lived peaceful lives away from the hassle of politics. When the Empire's efforts to restore the church were complete, the officers Academy reopened, and two eccentric individuals took up professorships there. One was perpetually asleep, or absorbed in absentminded study; the other refused to show herself at all unless it was time to give a lecture."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Linhardt, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: For Linhardt, yes. One of the things about him is that he loves freedom, another is that he has an interest in researching crests. Without the pressure of being an heir/lord and him being able to have access to special artifacts in Garreg Mach if he's a professor, he might study crests as long as he wants. For Bernadetta, it depends on how you look at it. On one hand she is far away from her father, but on the other hand she still hides away. (I wonder if the future students will learn anything with those two has professors)
Bernadetta and Linhardt (Other routes)
"Linhardt and Bernadetta caused quite the stir after the war when they abandoned their inherited titles and eloped to Garreg Mach. Returning to the monastery, where they were always most comfortable, the couple lived peaceful lives away from the hassle of politics. When the church was fully restored, the officers Academy reopened, and two eccentric individuals took up professorships there. One was perpetually asleep, or absorbed in absentminded study; the other refused to show herself at all unless it was time to give a lecture."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Linhardt, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: (same thing as their Crimson Flower route)
Bernadetta and Caspar
"After some uncertainty about the details, it was decided that Caspar would marry into Bernadetta's family, seeing as she had claim to House Varley. The two had a chaotic reign and a marriage to match. Each time Caspar caused some incident, Bernadetta would demand promises as recompense. Over time, their oaths accumulated to such a great number that it became necessary to compile them, and the resulting document came to be known as the "47 Articles of Bernie." Among these Articles was the provision that, when counting their large quantity of children, Caspar was not to accidentally count his wife among them."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: ???
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Casper, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: Ehhh… it's a little complicated. For Bernadetta, it makes no mention of her being recluse or growing confident. For Casper, it depends. As a crestless second son, he's often overshadowed by his older brother and a little ignored by the rest of his family but at the same time he is grateful that he is not the one to succeed House Bergliez as he can live a life he desires unbound from the trappings of nobility. Because of the circumstances he decided to make a name for himself through martial ability. In some Crimson Flower routes he becomes Minister of Military Affairs, while in some non-Crimson Flower he travels the world. In here, it makes no mention he does either of them (The Crimson Flower, part you can only assume), but he doesn't seem to mind.
Bernadetta and Felix (Azure Moon)
"After the war, Felix inherited the title of Duke Fraldarius from his late father, Rodrigue. He married Bernadetta, who abandoned claim to House Varley in order to start a life with him. After they had finished restoring Fraldarius territory, Felix traveled across Fódlan as the king's right hand. While he was away, Bernadetta handled local affairs while holed up in her room in the castle. The frigid air of northern Faerghus caused her to hide away even more than usual, but whenever her beloved husband returned, she would rush out to greet him."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: ??? (Read the next paragraph)
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Felix, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?:  It depends. While this ending doesn't say she grew confident and it says she holed up in her room, it can be excused due to her not being adapted to Faerghus's cold land. Plus, It's says that she always rushes out to greet Felix when he returns home, which can be taken as she's somewhat healed if you want. Bonus points is that even when she married a high ranking noble like her father wanted, he gets no benefits since she cuts ties with him. Felix wants to become the best swordsman, but it often leads him to neglect other things. In this ending, he grew up a bit. There doesn't seem to be a problem for Felix in this ending.
Bernadetta and Felix (Other routes)
"After the war, Felix attempted to set out on his own, but was waylaid by Bernadetta, who begged him not to go. Persuaded to stay, Felix ended up marrying into House Varley, the title of which Bernadetta had inherited. The couple got along smoothly, although it was rumored that in the early years of their marriage, she once had to restrain him physically to prevent him taking a trip to the Oghma Mountains to train. As the years wore on, Bernadetta became more reclusive, and Felix took over many of the day-to-day duties of running the house. Documents from their later years were increasingly signed with the name Felix, Count Varley."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Felix, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: It depends on how you see it. Bernadetta becomes more reclusive in this. But Felix doesn't end up wandering  mercenary, throwing himself in battle with a death wish. He ends up having a place to stay with a new family. Plus, he didn't "vanish from recorded history" meaning he might still have ties with his friends/classmates
Bernadetta and Raphael
"When Bernadetta first inherited control of House Varley, she hid away and would not involve herself in political or administrative affairs. During this time, it was Raphael who came to her aid, encouraging her to work through her fear of people. The training period was difficult-"humiliating," according to the journals Bernadetta left behind—but in the end, it had its desired effect. The leader of House Varley became an outgoing and authoritative individual, taking part in public policy. She even took on a very muscular husband."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: Yes
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Raphael, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: Is it a happy ending for Bernadetta? Yes, because thanks to Raphael she didn't become more recluse, got over her fears, and became active as a leader of her house. Plus, her father wants her to marry another noble, so marrying a commoner Is like giving him a middle finger. Is it a happy ending for Raphael? It depends. He wants to become a knight, but this ending makes no mention if he did. However, this ending also didn't mention his life before he arrived in Varley territory, so we can only assume if he became a knight during that time or if he became a knight in service of House Varley instead.
Bernadetta and Seteth
"After the war, Seteth remained at the monastery and dedicated himself to the restoration of the church. He was soon joined by Bernadetta, who abandoned her inheritance to House Varley and took up residence at Garreg Mach to commit to a life as a recluse. As the years wore on, Seteth wrote many fables, first in his spare time, and then later as his main preoccupation. His stories became famous among children throughout Fódlan. As he gained renown, many began to inquire about the wonderful illustrations that accompanied the writing. In response to these questions, Seteth was known to shrug and say, "Ask my wife... if you can find her.""
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Seteth, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: I think Only Seteth, because while the only positive thing about this for Bernadetta is her cutting ties with her father, she still hides away from everyone. Seteth does seem content write stories and restoring the church, plus he moves on from his first wife.
Bernadetta and Jeritza
"After the war for Fódlan, Jeritza threw himself fully into the struggle against those who slither in the dark. Visage masked by the likeness of death itself, he laid waste to his enemies with a scythe that terrified friend and foe alike. When it was all over, he stole away in secret and vanished. At the same time, a mysterious guest arrived in Varley territory, which Bernadetta had inherited from her father. On that day, the reclusive noble and her guest were seen walking the grounds pleasantly together. A rendition of that scene, said to be painted by Bernadetta herself, remains at the estate to this day."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: ???
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Jeritza, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: Bernadetta's case is ambiguous since it makes no mention whether she's a recluse or grew confident. But she does gain a partner in Jeritza (I say partner because it's unknown if they have a platonic or romantic relationship. I'm also imagining him scaring Bernadetta's father if he's still in house arrest and not in exile). In Jeritza's case, yes it's a happy ending for him because it seems like he manages to control his Death Knight persona and move beyond his blood-soaked past.
Bernadetta and Yuri
"Bernadetta’s struggle with anxiety made it difficult for her to take over as the head of House Varley. She became so overwhelmed that when Yuri chanced to visit her domain, she literally grabbed hold of his arm and refused to let go. Baffling as it was for Yuri at the time, this peculiar state of affairs eventually led to marriage. The commonfolk were initially perplexed, but over the years they became grateful for Count Varley’s surprising husband. His presence kept her calm and allowed her to deal with her people more frequently and easily. As a result, her talent for governance blossomed and her rule was widely celebrated."
Is Bernadetta able to recover from her trauma?: Yes (Read next paragraph)
Is it a happy ending for only Bernadetta, only Yuri, both, neither, or ehhh… (like it's too complicated to decide)?: It's a happy ending for Bernadetta since Yuri also helps her out of her shell in this. Plus, her father wants her to marry another noble, so marrying a commoner Is like giving him a middle finger. As for Yuri it depends, he wants to help the less fortunate and he's a fairly dedicated follower of the Church of Seiros. First Adrestian Empire history, 120 years before the start of the game The Southern Church instigated an insurrection that spread throughout the empire and was subsequently quelled. Following this incident, the Adrestian Emperor exiled the Bishop of the Southern Church and forced the Southern Church itself to shutter. A Ministry of Religious Affairs was established to replace it with command under House Varley; they're primarily tasked with maintaining relations with the Church of Seiros. Take it for what you will, thought I'd bring related info up, it really depends on the route they're on (like if they can keep the Religious Affairs position or not.). Although, some might say it is not good since she basically forced him to stay. But I guess Yuri is able to help the commonfolk in Varley by helping their lord. I'm also imagining him scaring Bernadetta's father if he's still in house arrest and not in exile (The only complaint I have is their A-Support where Yuri mentions that Bernadetta is lucky to have a father that cares enough to save her, which gives an impression that he doesn't know about the abuse she suffered from her father.)
Which of these endings is her most happy endings (you can choose more than one)? What do you rank these endings? You can even discuss Bernadetta's supports as a reason in comment.

So I’m literally on my way to bed because I’ve been up for like two days cuz of work and I’m largely incoherent right now......
But trust me, I will have WORDS about the Nightwing #96 cover later.
Hoo boy, do I have ALL THE FUCKING WORDS about that, and the artist (Bruno Redondo)’s response to someone on twitter about it, and Taylor’s response to that response.
You wanna do a fucking Brady Bunch style cover for an issue about a family reunion?
Okay, cool, fine.
But when someone asks ‘hey where’s Duke Thomas’ - someone who LITERALLY is either a foster son of Bruce’s, or an official Wayne adoptee, writers have always been inconsistent as fuck about how they view his place in the Batfam - like, how are you going to respond “oh the cover just includes ‘core family’” when you’ve got Stephanie in one of the boxes, and also, the fucking DOG Taylor created for his run?
And also, on top of Duke not being there, because maybe you can say ‘well Dick and Duke haven’t even had the OPPORTUNITY to interact much since Duke’s creation, given Dick’s distance from the Batfam throughout the Grayson title, and then his couple years of amnesia’......
Like MAYBE you could sell that response, instead of the ‘core family’ cop-out, but then I’d still be asking, okay but WHERE’S CASS THEN?
Cuz she’s only in the BACKGROUND of Stephanie’s box, not even obvious on first glance. Treated as the afterthought there, instead of the clearly emphasized Stephanie. And unlike Dick and Duke, Dick and Cass most definitely DO have history.
And given how much of Taylor’s run has been straight up mimicking every major story or character beat of the 90s Nightwing comics, there’s no WAY that man isn’t aware of stories that feature a lot of Dick and Cass bonding, like Bruce Wayne/Murderer? and Bruce Wayne/Fugitive.....but didn’t prioritize Cass either, hmmm.
So if you’re going to make a Brady Bunch homage cover for an issue that’s about a Batfamily reunion, and you don’t include Duke and BARELY include Cass, but you include Stephanie and the freaking DOG in full display?
Not to mention, Damian’s blatantly whitewashed on that cover - and except for a throwaway acknowledgment of Dick’s Romani heritage in one panel at the start of Taylor’s run, which also made it explicitly clear that this current interpretation of Dick is absolutely supposed to be regarded as a character of color, not that the art or the story ever reflects that in any other way - its a painfully oblivious look to just so happen to sideline the only other two PoC in the entire damn Batfamily.
And look, I love Stephanie, you guys KNOW I do. But if you’re going to cite ‘core family’ as the basis of your Brady Bunch homage, there is ZERO reason for her to be on that cover in place of either Duke or Cass, let alone BOTH. Steph and Dick’s only real interactions stem from the period he was Batman and she was Batgirl, but outside of that, they don’t have any more history than he shares with either of the other two, and UNLIKE the other two, Dick and Stephanie have NEVER regarded each other as family in that way.
Stephanie is CLOSE with the Batfam, and makes sense to be included as part of the extended Batfam, same as Barbara, but she and Barbara have always been distinct from the other kids due to the fact that there has never been any point in time when the two of them have looked to Bruce as any kind of parental figure, or even WANTED to. Steph has her mom, Barbara has her dad. Even when both have admittedly had issues with their parent in the past, neither EVER looked to Bruce as either a replacement or even a SUPPLEMENTAL parent figure at those times either.
Stephanie is absolutely a close FRIEND of the family, a very very close one, and good one, and Barbara of course is Dick’s girlfriend or at least love interest in Taylor’s run, but aside from that, but neither of them have ever been connected to Dick in the same way that both Duke and Cass are.....in that particular way that could be described as, oh idk....’core family.’
So if you’re going to cite that as your reason for your choices to include in the eight slots on the cover, and you’re going to have the writer, Taylor, ‘weigh in’ on the criticism of those choices (especially as I’m fairly certain that as the writer of that issue, HE picked which characters were meant to be included there, but I can’t be sure about that) but if Taylor’s response is going to be to mock the person asking ‘where’s Duke’ by listing off a whole bunch of other supporting Batfam cast, say shit like ‘why do you hate Ace the Bathound, Bruno’.....
Then you should be embarrassed as fuck to have decided that cover really needed to have Dick’s PET in place of BOTH Duke AND Cass.
Like really, if they’d just left off Bite-wing and Steph, they’d have had room for both Duke and Cass, and there would have been NO issue. Or even just switch Steph’s box around so its Cass in the foreground there and Steph peeking out behind her. And both Duke and Cass are literal adoptees or fostered by Bruce, so they INARGUABLY fit the bill of ‘core family,’ even if people happened to ask ‘where’s Steph’ in that case. Which tbh, I don’t think anyone really would have done, because it would have been OBVIOUS why she wasn’t included in one of the eight spaces available, given the other inclusions, and again, Dick and Steph have never been close enough that her inclusion would have been some kind of glaring omission, and unlike with Duke and Dick, where their lack of much interaction aside from Robin War is largely logistical, given Dick’s been infamously unavailable for like, five of the seven or so years Duke’s existed....Steph and Dick’s lack of frequent interaction spans a good two decades.
In conclusion, apparently I did have the words already anyway, and I haven’t been a fan of Taylor’s from the start obviously, but doing a family reunion issue and a Brady Bunch homage for a cover, and choosing to include or emphasize Steph and Dick’s pet of less than a year, that Taylor himself created, over Duke and Cass - again, the literal ONLY other two characters of color in Dick’s entire family, aside from the blatantly whitewashed Damian -
And your first instinct is to mock people asking hey where’s one of the other two people who absolutely have reason to be counted among Dick’s core family?
*claps hands slowly*
Bravo, Taylor. Bra - fucking - vo.
You’ve outdone yourself once again, I see.
And now I’m going the fuck to sleep.

Alright so, I’m gonna send this as an ask instead of clogging your comment box on ao3. And I’m still laughing at the fact you call these essays when it’s just unedited night ramblings. 🫡
Full disclosure, I have absolutely zero knowledge about music. I’m not even going to pretend like I knew what I was doing with those annotations and I certainly don’t know enough about poetry to articulate how that would work either… But I still very much hold firm to the belief that this would make an excellent recitation. The only other way I can articulate it is by insisting that it is a melodic kind of language. I see what you were going for and you’ve done it so well and I am so excited to see this kind of style and specific diction of language.
My education and experience is more in painting, art history, critical analysis so you know I’m not a complete hackjob and just blowing steam out of my ass! But I really have like no knowledge of music. 💀
I also very much hold firm to the belief that Jaskier is always going to be a choice. That is ultimately at the heart of the found family trope/genre. It’s not about shoehorning people into traditional family roles, but rather and I’m going to borrow from your fic here to support this, it’s about people coming together and the care and love that exists between them regardless of background, experience, and pre-ordained fates.
“Ciri put herself between the stranger and Jaskier, waving a large branch in warning. “Keep away,” she growled. “If you come any closer, I’ll scream.”
This is great. This is important. This is also really funny. A small child protecting a larger child. I know Ciri is more powerful, and perhaps even stronger than Jaskier. But the mental image of her defending Jaskier against a witcher with a branch is hilarious. I bet Lambert was telling everyone about it when they got to Kaer Morhen.
What’s important about this observation is that Jaskier lets her. It cannot be easy for a grown man to suddenly have to rely on a child to take care of him, but he lets her and there isn’t a shred, not an ounce of resentment between them.
Also, I did not originally mean to analyze this against the hero’s journey and the monomyth, but the witcher so often explores the concept of destiny and fate that I find myself falling into it constantly. What this fic does though, as I’ve mentioned before, is refuse the call and subvert the myth which I love.
I’m very interested in that perspective, thank you. I was a little suspicious because Jaskier was clearly picking up on something but I knew from his reaction at the end that he really didn’t know. It’s that thing where as an audience we have more information than the characters which again very much puts me in mind of a play and the fics other artistic qualities. I think I feel more like Ciri in this instance, and also a little like Jaskier. One is kept in the dark because she’s a child and the other because he’s literally blind.
Omg okay last disclosure… I couldn’t remember the word for prose poetry (idk why) and it sent me on a deep-dive. I just really love writing, and fanfiction and all this shit. It’s my goddamn jam, and I’m literally incapable of shutting up. I’m about to vibrate out of my skin.
I never ever ever forever want you to shut up. I love this. I love ALL of this. I want to read this analysis like I'm in an english lit class. I am eating it up with two serving spoons like I've been given the entire tray of sweet potato casserole to kill off at thanksgiving. PLEASE I beg of you, CLOG MY INBOX. I would LOVE to have this in my inbox to keep and to treasure. In fact, I keep my favorite ao3 comment emails in a special folder! Please please PLEASE copy and paste this and put it beside the other half so they are together. Your comments are FAMILY you can't separate them! They need a loving home!

I don't know much about Rollo but I will say that the idea of the game calling Frollo a 'good leader' or anything similar doesn't surprise me. He clearly wasn't nor is he a good person, but neither was any of the Great 7, yet the game claims/acts like they were good (Calling Scar a great king when he led the Pridelands to starvation, Ursula being called kind and generous when she manipulated every deal she seemed to make, ect)
I feel like TWST is trying to pull a 'history is written by the victors'/unreliable narrators (or history books in this case) when it comes to their villains. Not saying people can't or shouldn't be uncomfortable with the inclusion but I don't think the game is trying to claim that he was good. I'm personally interested in seeing what they do with his character, even if Frollo is someone I'd fight.
Hello Anon, thanks for your message.
First of all, I absolutely agree that the original Frollo needs to get punched out. Full stop.
But to the first half of your ask, yes! Absolutely! I am so curious as to what the reasoning behind the difference in "reality" as we know it versus the history of Twisted Wonderland is. Because if it was a history that was written by the victors, then by all means, shouldn't the world be a wasteland or in complete anarchy? All of those power hungry and literally villainous people coming into power would mean they would definitely be duking it out with each other if they existed in the same time period. And given how some of the stories were going and involved heavy magic, several of them literally could have been alive at the same time (ahem, a literal god and a fairy witch who sold her soul to hell).
There could be another twist though, the events of the Disney movies could be much farther in the past that we realize, and TW really WAS plunged into chaos as a result of these villains winning. But then something happened, and they realized that ruling over a dying world isn't all it's cracked up to be and they worked to resurrect what they destroyed. I think that would be mind blowing. Do I think Frollo would have taken part in that? Hell no, dudes a mortal racist. That's not happening.
But it would make his rewritten history make more sense. Essentially, there could be centuries of "dark ages" that no one knows about because it was wiped from history and people's memories. And to prevent the same thing from happening again, the villains wrote themselves as good guys so people wouldn't be tempted to follow their path of evil (doesn't stop teenage boys from spiraling into mental breakdowns, but at least they tried). And the fact that the original "good guys" were not completely expunged from history only supports this idea. Their stories are twisted too, some even being split down the middle (e.g. Aladdin being both the good-natured poor boy who married a princess and also a trickster who tried to deceive her but was stopped by Jafar), but they're still good in the end if RSA being the foil to NRC is any evidence.
No idea how close this is to the truth I'm just theorizing here, all in good fun. I really am on the edge of my seat to see what role Rollo plays in the event. No spoilers but according to what little I've seen, he's depicted as a pleasant but slightly unnerving guy. Let's see where that goes.

Hi Cowboy Jen,
Let me preface this by saying I found your blog at a perfect time. Reading your posts gave me great comfort. I’m still closeted to my family and a relatively new young financially independent gal. I took a job out of college to the Midwest, but that didn’t stop feelings from me and my best friend (of 10 years) from reoccurring. We have a history of catching feelings for each other every now and then but it’s always the wrong time (e.g., she confesses when I’m partnered or vice versa). It hadn’t happened in about 3 years but we were very close, doing all the things couples would do, even with the distance. She made my time away from home still feel like home.
She, a brilliant beautiful butch, asked if we could date and wanted to be my partner. I, fearful of not giving her the full partner experience being 900 miles away, insisted that we shouldn’t. I wanted her to have a proper relationship, given we both didn’t have great track records. I said she probably wouldn’t have feelings for me if she actually got to date someone in her town instead of talking to me all the time. She gave me the weekend to think about it. While I initially said no, I was gearing up for a visit back home about a month from then. So, I planned to tell her the following day I would like to cash in on that date. However, the next day she told me took an interest in her roommate and they began dating.
We took a break and didn’t talk like we used to. Over the last 2-3 months, we got better and started acting friendly like how we used to. I met her new partner a few times and I’ve been a good sport. I tell her and her partner how much I think they’re a great couple, that I like how happy they make each other. And it’s true, I’m happy for her. I always wanted her to be in a real loving relationship with someone who genuinely cares for her. But, I’m afraid I’m still the one left having feelings for her.
Rightfully, she puts her partner over me. I live closer to our hometown since I now took a job back on the east coast. Before I moved out yet again, on my last night, she cut me up flowers from her yard and gave me really thoughtful trinkets. A collection of things she thought I’d like. When we went back to her place, we talked on the porch with her roommates. When it got cold, she let me borrow her hoodie (i kept thinking just how good it was to smell her). She even let me keep the hoodie for my move. Everything felt like how it used to be before it all got complicated. And it absolutely pained me after the fact, since she’s not mine to keep.
I don’t flirt with her. I’m not planning a seduction. I’m not a home wrecker. I’ve been acting like a supportive friend. We were supposed to have our first call since I moved, but it got cut short because of an issue with her partner. But, I just miss her. I still think about the day where we could be with each other sometime when we’re older. Even before this all happened, I used to think about how we would share a house together in our 40s and 50s.
I guess I’m seeking advice on what to do. I know I shouldn’t have these feelings. I don’t plan on causing trouble. I’m just in so much pain, it feels like a punishment for some past life misdeeds. I think because I never got to tell her how I felt, these feelings just sink further into me. I don’t plan on telling her my feelings. I suppose I’m seeking advice on how to get over her and just go back to seeing her as my friend.
Sorry this was all over the place! I just haven’t had many people to tell this too.
I am very sorry you are feeling so much pain and I understand why you would hurt so badly. You feel like you have missed an opportunity and you can't really give yourself closure because you keep thinking "what if". What if you had said something , what if she is not happy in her current relationship. What if you waited.
The problem with "what if" is those ideas have no expiration date or guaranteed outcome. You can hang on for any amount of time waiting for her to be single or at least unhappy enough to show signs she wishes to break up. This might never happen.
I completely understand feeling so much love and connection that you can't even imagine letting of your attachment to her. And to make it even harder, she is your best friend so distancing from her means, in essence, loosing your friend and love at the same time.
I am going to give you some advice that might be really hard to hear. It might be best to give yourself time and distance from her. Let your heart get a break so it can heal. There really is no time line but you will probably know. You don’t have to cut her out completely, especially if you don’t want to give her any reason for the space. Just be busy try to keep some distance. If she reaches out you can decide whether or not to see her or decide to be pre scheduled and not able to commit to time.  It will be very hard but it does get a bit better slowly.
Eventually you will have a better time of navigating the reality of your new relationship with her if you can let yourself have some distance. You heart needs  the time to readjust. Your mind needs the space grieve and think and work through all the emotions. You will be sad and mad and have regrets.and that is enough to deal with without the constance wondering if you will some day be with her or if she is truly happy. The two of you being oether is possible but not probable so you must move on and live your life as if that idea is off the table.
I hope that some time in the future either her happiness with her new partner will continue to make you happy or perhaps your love for her withh help you to prioritize her friendship over holding on to romantic feelings. It is very true that the heart wants what the heart wants but to save the friendship, which seems important to both of you you have to take some time to heal.
Other than all those words I don’t have any easy advice to ease your pain or make your love go away. Likely you will always love her but you need to figure out a way ot put that love in a different place in your heart in order to preserve the friendship. Expanding your friendships and lesbian circles will help. You are newly out and just getting started. The more women you meet the more you will find you are capable of deep friendship and even love again  with someone else. Probably not right away so don’t rush it but don’t write off the idea completely.
Big healing hugs to you.
