ERROR 410: GONE (Yandere Faceless!Kamisato Ayato/Reader)
A/n: thank you for the 5 dollar tip, "anonymous"! I asked them for what they want in exchange and they asked for a fac█le██ ayato fic... Alright then... You did ask for it...
Unreliable synopsis: Your new coworker doesn't seem to be from around here...
Tumblr media
It was a cramped night at the bus stop. Except for the elderly, many people had their phones out since it was nearly midnight and nobody had the stamina to engage in conversation. You recently got promoted as a district manager for an international company, and oh, the work is just too exhausting to drone about. However, in this station, it didn't matter if you were an energetic student or an employee. The bus is abnormally later than their usual "lateness", and such a redundant statement elucidates just how shoddy their schedule is. Everyone was simultaneously stressed and drained and each of their war faces screamed that they would selfishly fight for the seat ride home.
All except for one man.
From the moment he arrived, you were peering at him. He had a similar appearance to the character you were "maining" in the video game you were enamored with for approximately two years. Though you seriously doubt he was in cosplay, he and that favorite of yours look eerily identical. His long-sleeved black coat and simple white turtleneck blend in with modern fashion fairly, save for his elaborate light blue hair, which was organically unkempt and not at all synthetic. His keen eyes led you to believe that he is from an Eastern lineage, most likely Japanese, but you didn't want to make any unfounded assumptions. Because it's simply impossible for someone to cosplay at this time, you were left silently marveling at the incredible coincidence.
He muttered something to himself, but you did not hear it.
“11:56 PM.”
You had a smidgen of knowledge regarding the bus schedule enough to give yourself a pep talk in the hopes that it would motivate you to give him directions. But no amount of psyching yourself up could have prepared you for when another person walked up to him. She asked the question you had been meaning to ask for the past three minutes, assuming she was a college student. He grinned at the worried girl.
He was stunningly gorgeous when he smiled.
Wholly unfair how he exudes an aura of elegance whilst wearing normal clothes while you look like a sloppy burrito wrapped by a beige shawl this dead of night.
“Oh, no, no. I am not at all lost. I’m simply looking for someone.”
Everyone was fairly sure that person would never arrive, but he stayed roving around the room, pacing back and forth as if the person he was looking for will arrive the next minute. Whoever it was, you were starting to get angry on his behalf. Who would leave such an attractive man waiting? It was improper.
But to be honest, you have already admitted to yourself that your life is quite dull— so you’re aware that this nonsensical drama you had over this imaginary person stemmed from boredom.
Out of the blue, he fixed his gaze on you.
The stranger’s eyes softened. The simmering panic in his expression vanished in an instant the moment he saw your face, and his mouth gaped open for a short while before he sauntered forward, ignoring the student who awkwardly shuffled back to her waiting spot.
You immediately felt small, upright, and astoundingly nervous. Not ready to be accosted by anyone at all.
“There you are…” He gave you that smile again. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you, Mx. (Y/n).”
You scanned the area before jabbing your finger at your chest. He nodded as if you were being ridiculous to consider that it may be someone else.
Ah, so the lookalike was waiting for you.
You were mentally fighting yourself.
“I’m ███████ █████,” he said in a gentle tone— not at all reflecting the stressed out look he sported a moment before. “— The new product manager. I’m an incredibly recent hire, so please do not feel bad for not recognizing my face.”
That wasn’t the reason why your eyebrows were knitted, though. It’s because you DO recognize his face, but you doubt he’d take you for a reasonable person should you start pointing out his physical similarities with a fictional character.
███████ █████, huh? His full name is a bit average-sounding. Sounds like something you may have read on an early 2000s Weaboo forum on "What would your Japanese name be?" which lists down dates, birth months, and the first letter of a person's first name. However, it wasn’t entirely unbelievable— you just chalked him up as an unfortunate kid whose parents were eager to give their son the name "John Doe" when given the chance.
“It’s nice to meet you, Mister █████.”
“P-Please,” he shook his head. “Let’s drop the formalities. We shall work alongside together officially tomorrow. I would like for us to talk more casually if you would not mind.”
His vocabulary was painfully filled with constrictive pleasantries for someone who seemed to be eager to have a casually cordial relationship with you. Since a product manager and a district manager have roughly equal levels of authority in your company, his desire for friendship isn't too shocking.
Yet, you can’t help but stare… It’s still so strange how he also has a mole right underneath his lip.
He looks just like Kamisato Ayato from Genshin Impact, but not for long.
At first, you envied █████’s youthful glow and wanted it for yourself, but upon learning that he will replace Mister Blaiddyd, you mentally prayed that he wouldn’t lose his mind from stress like his predecessor. That’s how stressful being a product manager is. Give him two months and he’d probably start ruining his coiffed hair during crunch times.
“Understood,” your eyes darted back to the bus station, which remained regrettably devoid of any vehicle. You were starting to consider taking a taxi to avoid this awkward conversation but there’s not a single one in sight. “Since you’ve mentioned that you were trying to find me, might I ask why that is, exactly?”
“Ah, yes,” he instinctively adjusted his collar. His sharp and sophisticated face never averted away from you. “You see— Miss Goneril had informed me that I should approach you if I had any concerns about work.”
Ahh… Hilda…
His future plight still doesn’t change how annoying this situation is. Can’t believe you’re already assigned to helping a newbie out as soon as you got your promotion. She’s planning to milk your kindness dry this month, isn’t she? Despite being your best work friend, Hilda doesn’t have to be unkind to someone to exploit them. But you suppose you wouldn’t mind too much, given how he doesn’t look half-bad. Call it vain, call it a “coping mechanism”, but there wouldn’t be any shame on your end to teach a new attractive coworker the ropes of your job.
You'll treat him nicely. As the good Samaritan you are, maybe you'll also ask him to give up while he's ahead for good measure.
“Sure, I wouldn’t mind helping you out—”
“I'm most grateful!”
“—but it is VERY late.”
You took a quick look at your phone. 11:53 PM—and there were three messages from Miss Goneril confirming that █████ is the new hire. Since Hilda never filtered her remarks when it came to... aesthetically pleasing people, you instantly pocketed your phone. It was a grave oversight on your end that Hilda found out earlier that you weren't paying attention to her babbling earlier. You wouldn't get such a long message on how "hot" █████'s mole was if you were a better pretender. Her thirst was kind of unsettling.
Ah, whatever. You’ll just delete it later.
You held back a yawn, “where’s your stop?”
“███ ███████.”
“Ah, that’s where I drop off too.”
Additionally, it is the bus's final stop, so you would have to spend a lot more time with him. Great. You hoped he wouldn't try to strike up a conversation with some small talk.
He placed his hand on his chin. Now that he’s up close, you realized just how long his sleeves were. The silhouette nearly reminded you of Kamisato Ayato once more. █████ nodded with a half-teasing smile.
“Oh, not to worry, I know.”
Hilda must have told him right away. You secretly hoped that the main reason she paired you two up was because of your shared destination so you could applaud her wise decision-making skills, but you knew better. Once more, Hilda is attempting to match you with someone.
You cleared your throat, “well then, you better prepare yourself with some sleepless nights because the buses around here don’t come around plenty. You’d have to stand most of the time—”
He muttered something again, “three minutes left.”
“Hmm?”
“Ah, no, it’s nothing. I’ve recently moved here so please do continue explaining.”
“… Right.” You sighed, “do you live in ██████████?”
“Yes.”
“Then we’d go in opposite directions. I live in █████ so this is the only bus we share.”
“Unfortunately.”
That almost made you snort. Unfortunately? It's not at all unfortunate, though. During these hours, you rarely feel socially motivated to communicate, and you just know deep down that once he starts working, you'll find a method to board buses separately from him.
“If it’s alright for me to quickly digress— may I trouble you with something, (Y/n)?”
“Sure.”
“May I take a picture with you?” █████ asked. “I want to upload it in my Instagram Story to show my friends and family that I’m faring well. They’ve been insistent that I should make friends on my first day of work— even when based on technicalities, this doesn’t qualify as my first day.”
He must be the eldest and the breadwinner of the ████████ family. That's admirable. Working with someone like him is not a problem for you. They constantly know how to get the job done.
“I don’t mind,” you said, slightly nervous. “But can you not add any weird stuff?”
“Weird stuff?”
“Like, maybe a “my new coworker is ugly” or something like that.”
“W-What?!” █████ jolted. “I would never do such a thing! Especially towards you, my bel—”
“R-Relax, that was just a joke.” Not really. “Is it okay if I don’t take my face mask off?”
“… Of course, I wouldn’t mind.”
“Great.”
█████ scooted closer to you, placing his phone up and angling it in the direction that mostly showed your face. It’s as if he didn’t want his face to be seen, but with a handsome face like that? You’re highly doubtful that is the case. His hands were trembling. The poor man must’ve been incredibly sleep deprived and running on coffee like you.
Unwittingly, you placed your hand above his to steady his phone and you heard him gasp softly. You quickly withdrew your hand away as though you touched a hot kettle when its anything but warm.
His hands were cold, it almost didn’t feel human.
“Oh— sorry!” You shrugged, cringing. “I didn’t mean to—”
“N-No, it’s fine!” He chuckled nervously. “If anything, I should be the one apologizing. I have been told that I am terrible at using a Kamera.”
Why does he say “camera” with a hard “K”? You’ve never heard anyone else pronounce it in that way. Possibly a local accent. It was tempting to ask where he’s from but perhaps that topic would be better brought up some other time. Asking that question might just make him miss his family more, and his parents might be wide-awake right now anticipating any form of reassurance that their child is doing fine.
“Then allow me to take the pic for us.”
He smiled eagerly, “I would greatly appreciate that.”
█████ handed you his phone. You set it up at the same angle he had originally intended, although this time his phone's screen displayed both your faces more clearly. Although you made an effort to contain your emotions, you couldn't help but be overwhelmed by how much he resembles Kamisato Ayato. You mentally readied yourself for the possibility that you would feel his breath on your neck, but you didn't feel him breathe. That doesn’t make you feel untouched, however, since he rested his hand on your shoulder to pull you close enough for the picture.
Is he holding his breath?
“Stay still,” he commanded.
You clenched your fist, trying hard NOT to think about how close his voice is to Chris Hackney’s.
After you pressed the shutter button at least three times, you opened the pictures you’ve taken.
He really does have a beautiful smile.
“Is there something wrong with my face…?”
“Hmm? N-No,” you sputtered out. “I just thought it was a good pic.”
“I’m glad,” he laughed heartily. “I’m still getting used to this face after all.”
… Huh.
Maybe you lack sleep, but the photos remind you of those AI-generated photos on social media— the stolen ones that artists rightfully plead credit for. Maybe you just find him excessively gorgeous because he reminded you of a fictional character you were familiar with, but his appearance somehow seems otherworldly…
“11:55, one minute left.” He muttered again as he crooned above your neck, gazing at his phone.
“For what?”
█████ laughed heartily.
“For the bus, of course!”
You raised an eyebrow. The station was incredibly empty. You genuinely can’t tell who would lie to him about that.
“Sorry, █████, I don’t know who told you that but there’s genuinely no pattern as to when the bus arrives here. That’s fake news—”
“██████████!!! ██████████!!!”
You immediately snap your neck at the sound of the bus conductor.
“H-Huh?” Your eyes widened.
█████ wore a smug smile on his face as he watched you stare at his phone in disbelief. He was correct; the time was 11:56 pm. But before he had time to gloat and act “mysterious”, you snatched his cold hand and sprinted for the seats— apologizing to the college student you bumped into along the way.
No way in hell you’re going to wait for the next bus.
“We need to go! Now!!!”
Tumblr media
You woke up the next day feeling more tired than the previous morning.
Tuesday means that you will inevitably have to work today. You woke up before your alarm, but instead of being a responsible adult and opening up a parcel of bread with hot coffee on the side, you rolled on your bed to whisk your charged phone from the nightstand. You received notifications from several social media apps and a work email from Mister Gautier, but you'd prefer not to startle yourself by hearing one of your subordinate's absurd justifications for being absent. Instead, you launched the Instagram app that you reluctantly installed because of Hilda.
The picture you took together with █████ is still up on his Story.
The image is just as you recall it. You might even say that your opinion of his appearance significantly increased after a good night's sleep. How did you manage to converse with your new coworker last night without turning into a stammering wreck when he is THIS drop-dead gorgeous? You're confident the picture wasn't edited in any way. After all, you saw him upload it directly to his phone's social media account because you wanted to make sure he wouldn't add any odd captions. Congrats to █████ for being incredibly photogenic. He genuinely looks like an AI-generated person with how flawless he appeared. You would have told Hilda straight away that whatever she was swooning over had to be some kind of catfish if you hadn't met him—
You squinted.
“Wait a second.”
You looked closely at his hand which rested on top of your shoulder.
“… Are those six fingers?”
That can’t be right.
Sure, he does look like an AI-generated person in the flesh but six fingers? Absurd. It’s probably due to the horrible lighting.
You can’t zoom in on a story, so you took a screenshot but—
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
“Shit.”
You had no time to spare. Hastily, you rolled out, tossed your phone on the bed, and staggered to the restroom. You had to go as soon as possible since you have a meeting this morning. At this rate, soldiers who lived ration by ration likely had a healthier diet than you– but your boss is the embodiment of evil.
You’ll just have to look at the image later.
Tumblr media
“Bad morning?”
“Oh, nice to see you here, █████.”
█████ grinned, pointing at the chair beside you, “would you mind if I sit?”
You smiled politely, “I don’t own this place, you know?”
He chuckled, “fair enough.”
It's 4:07 PM. Even though one of your team members arrived later than expected, you eventually built momentum and finished the presentation on a high note. Working with Mr. Gautier is such a headache. Thankfully, district managers have to go out in the field, so before you know it, you've excused yourself to eat lunch at your preferred café. The barely-melted coffee powder you had at home wasn't going to help you get through the day like your favorite cup here. Your cup was no longer a "morning joe", but better late than never.
█████ sank on the cafe’s chair, inhaling the aroma of the rich coffee you ordered. You assumed yet again that it was Miss Goneril’s atrocious wingman skills that led him to this place. His shoulders relaxed a bit afterward as he eyed your cup.
“I do wonder what real coffee tastes like…” █████ mumbled.
You'd give it to him, but you're stressed out—probably more so than he is, given that your supervisor basically holds his hand around the office like a newborn child. The gravity of the problems you carry as a District Manager is nothing to laugh at, either. It’s just a matter of getting used to it.
“Looking already stressed on your official first day, hmm?” You teased before you sipped your cup, pretending you don’t feel his jealous eyes. “Is being a Project Manager not what you had expected?”
█████ shook his head, scoffing with a lopsided grin.
“Oh no, I used to have bigger workloads. I’m only behaving this way since I’m not used to moving this face often.”
This face, huh? What a unique yet expected phrasing. After all, he is so attractive that it wouldn't surprise you if he thought of his face as a separate entity that must be maintained. █████ must be the type of person who cares an awful lot for skin care and self-love. Good for him, good for him.
“Never worked in retail before?” You tilted your head. “Never practiced your customer service smile?”
“In a way, yes,” he chuckled. “I am more accustomed to working behind the scenes since my younger sister takes most of the spotlight in the commi— our family business.”
█████ sure laughs a lot.
“Ah, is she something of an entertainer?” You teased. Knowing a thing or two about other people’s younger siblings, you anticipated some messy anecdotes which served to amplify your opinions on how chaotic having siblings is.
“No. On the contrary, she’s incredibly reserved and poised.”
“Then I bet there’s just something charismatic about her— is she the artistic type?”
“She is. Our family’s beloved princess is quite skilled in the art of dancing and calligraphy. You ought to watch her perform someday.”
You made an effort not to grin foolishly as humiliating thoughts ran rampant inside your head. His sister sounds like Ayaka already. How surreal would it be if you opened up your phone and did your Daily Commissions in front of him—
Oh, right! Your phone— that screenshot!
You ferreted your phone out of your bag, side-eyeing him each time you failed to find it inside its mini-pockets. █████ kept smiling as you busied yourself in hopes you’d locate your phone sooner. To fill in the dead air (and to avoid getting uncomfortable knowing that a man was keeping a close eye on you), you got right onto the meat of the subject by asking questions.
“Hey— I know this is weird, but can I see your hands?”
█████ didn’t respond for a while, lost in a trance before you lightly waved at his face. His soft gaze broke as he blinked fast multiple times.
“My… hands? Alright.”
He pulled his long sleeves— which iconically trailed longer than any other coat in the company— to smoothly show off his slender fingers. █████ glanced at his wristwatch in the process. 4:09 PM. Just one minute more.
Meanwhile, you flinched. He clearly had five fingers in each hand. The normal amount. You didn’t know what exactly you were expecting.
“Hah, I’m definitely sleep deprived,” you spoke humorously. “When I checked our picture this morning I swear I saw six fingers.”
He didn’t laugh. Slowly, he closed his eyes, unamused.
“You’re wrong.”
█████’s voice dipped low.
You never realized how warm his servile gazes were until he starts looking at you with a cold glare.
You felt your spine tremble as you took note of how he crossed his arms. What’s with this sudden shift in atmosphere? Shouldn’t he laugh at how strange your question was instead?
Why did he sound so offended?
Due to the nature of his tone, you sputtered out an excuse to bring back the light conversation you had before, “must’ve been because its dark— here hold on I took a screenshot of it.”
You opened your gallery, not bothering to scroll deep into it since it should be a recent photo. Yet, you paused, and frantically swiped up and down. You expected that screenshot to be the first image that greets you upon opening the app, but you only saw an entirely black PNG file. Why on earth did that screenshot turn void? You tried searching but you only found recent scans from the last week’s meetings and some “candid” selfies Hilda most likely snapped for herself.
This makes no sense whatsoever! You swore you took the screenshot earlier and there was no notification that it failed to save it.
“█████” smirked.
11:56 PM M: (Y/n) waits at the bus station.
02:33 AM T: (Y/n) arrives home.
8:01 AM T: (Y/n) has a meeting.
4:10 PM T: (Y/n) looks at their phone at Cafe █████.
4:10 PM. GONE.
You’re so adorable when you have your phone close to your face with your eyebrows knitted like that… Oh, his dear beloved, you nearly got him…
It’s such a shame that he knows your phone like the back of his palm.
“Is something the matter, (Y/n)?”
Kamisato Ayato chuckled behind his sleeve.
You wouldn’t meet his eye, “I was pretty certain I took a screenshot of it this morning, this is so strange…”
Quickly, you opened Instagram to check “█████”’s Story, but the image was missing as well. Since Stories only expire after 24 hours, and it has only been a little over half that time since it was posted, it shouldn't have disappeared. Your eyes remained glued to your phone, unbeknownst to the sinister smile your coworker wore amidst your defeated state.
“Say, did you remove your Stor—”
“Here.”
“█████” slid his phone onto the table.
You picked it up. It’s the picture you two had at the station. You zoomed in on his hand.
Five fingers.
“… Yeah, it’s definitely five,” you whimpered almost inaudibly. “Here I thought I could show you something funny. Damn. I’m really sleep-deprived.”
“I know, you sleep at around 2:30 after all.”
“Yeah—”
You took a breath and then shook your head. There is no need to be skeptical about that statement; it's simple arithmetic. He reportedly knows a lot about accounting, thus he most likely estimated the length of your ride home as if it were a no-brainer. You gave him a wary smile. He's a lot more calculating than you first thought; he even picked up that you were looking for the photo you took the night before without your having to tell him.
Doing what needed to be done without being asked…
“█████” swiftly took his phone back.
“Now then, would you care to enlighten me as to what tastes good on this cafe’s menu?”
You smiled.
Yeah. You think you’ll get along with the new Project Manager just fine.
“Why, it’ll be my pleasure! First off, the frappe here is not that bad…”

Are requests still open? Can I request where Ayato likes y/n but they are new to Inazuma and do not know of his status?
I hope this makes sense, english is not my first language
Hello anon, requests were open when you sent this ask, no worries haha. Your english seems great! Its not my first language either, so i understand the struggle.
My first genshin ask, i think!
--
It's almost similar to when Ayato had discovered thoma.
Although technically speaking not many details are enclosed to the public, and Thoma was in a more desperate situation once he arrived to Inazuma.
You, on the other hand, are intriguing. You come to Inazuma for whatever reason, but given your lack of research, or rather lack of deciphering skills, it seems you hadn't realised just who Ayato was. It was obvious to him from the moment he met you walking up a path, looking wondrously at quite possibly everything. Ayato suggested you both walk along after greeting himself, and makes pleasant conversation.
It only dawns on him when you mention all the things you've heard in passing about the tri-commissions, particularly the "Yashiro Commissioner rascal", as some had.. fondly mentioned. His eyes only widened for a split second when he heard so, but judging from your tone, he understood you had no idea who he was.
It was comical. Reminded him of a certain oni, but you were far more gentle, evidently. He enjoys your innocence to a degree, and he finds you make for great company due to your ignorance. It's strange – had it been an arrogant, stuck up official who said such things, he would have pulled his lips into a thin, tight smile before cutting a few taut strings, pushing the man onto his knees, physically and metaphorically. It was you who he didn't just tolerate, but enjoyed being around. You were pleasant, and easy to talk to.
He never realised just how much he would enjoy having such a grounding conversation with someone where they were absolutely unaware about his status. It's refreshing. He still takes precaution, however. Information is very sensitive. And neither can he really shield you from the whole of Inazuma.
So.. he enjoys your innocence about his status while it lasts. Offers to take you around Inazuma for frequent strolls, proposing comical ideas and telling you all sorts of stories about his cooking experiences, beetle battles, unlikely friends. It's not too long until someone generously decides to inform you of his status, but his insistence that you treat him just as you did before, seems to have provided you with a strange privilege only exclusive to you..

Caught in the Crossfire 3
Pairings: Kamisato Ayato x fem!Reader
Summary: You and Ayato were having a tea and snack break when you started to feel strange. You end up falling "ill" (although you felt fine despite having to visit the bathroom to empty your stomach every time you eat), and Ayato calls a doctor to get you checked up to see what was the cause of your sudden sickness.
Note: I was going to make a smut for this part, but I didn't have the time to type it out because of schoolwork, and because I was busy 🥹 Also, holy crap, I realized that it's been a year since the last "chapter" of Caught in the Crossfire 😭 well, this is the finale of Caught in the Crossfire! I might make an extra fic that has a smut, but I'm not 100% sure if that'll happen 🤔 Idk why I've been making fics that involve babies and pregnancies lately. But the mini-fic that I'm posting after this won't involve babies or pregnancies! I don't post anywhere else but on Tumblr (Genshinluvr) and on AO3 (Aaliah_exo).
Warnings: Mentions of vomiting, menstrual cycles, talks of infertility and pregnancy
Word Count: 7.3k
Caught in the Crossfire chapters: [1], [2], [3]
It’s been a few months since the incident with Yuki and her attempt to assassinate you. Ayato tightened security at the Kamisato estate and double-checked the servant’s backgrounds, making sure they weren’t spies working for the Takahashi clan. You weren’t allowed to leave the Kamisato estate without having security following you everywhere you went.
No matter where you go, without your knowledge, Ayato has the Shuumatsuban keep an eye on you in case anything happens while you’re not in his presence outside of the Kamisato estate. So far, Ayato’s plans have been going well. You’re unharmed, you’re safe, and nothing poses a threat to your safety.
You’re sitting in Ayato’s office, having tea with the head of the Kamisato Clan, who is also your fiancé and soon-to-be husband. The date of the wedding is getting close, and the both of you have the wedding venue, the decorations, and the flowers picked out. You’re supposed to go out into Inazuma City and have wedding gowns picked out next week. Needless to say, you’re excited but also anxious.
“Is there something on your mind, my love?”
You snap out of your thoughts and look at Ayato with wide eyes. Ayato looks at you curiously while taking a bite from the Dangos Thoma brought for your and Ayato’s tea time. You give Ayato a sheepish smile and grab the teacup, taking a sip. Ayato crosses his arms over his chest and watches you closely.
You put the teacup back on the saucer and dab the napkin over your lips. “Oh, forgive me, Ayato. I have some things occupying my thoughts at the moment,” you say softly.
Ayato looks at you curiously. “If you don’t mind me asking, what is it that’s occupying that pretty head of yours, dear?” Ayato asks, propping his elbow on the table.
You purse your lips. It’s not like Ayato is going to shame you or brush off your worries. The wedding is close; the closer the date gets, the more anxious you become. Sometimes you wonder how Ayato manages to keep his calm exterior when it comes to significant events such as your and Ayato’s impending wedding.
“I’m worried about not being able to find the perfect kimono on time before the wedding and dress rehearsal,” you reply. “Ayaka and I are supposed to go out into Inazuma City next week for the kimonos, but I worry I’m going to be too picky and end up not finding what I like.”
Ayato gives you a sympathetic look and reaches for your hand across the table, placing his hand over yours.
“It’s normal to feel this way, [Y/N]. If it helps, I can always have someone come over to the Kamisato estate with kimonos picked and ready for you to choose,” Ayato offers, smiling at you.
You purse your lips and chew on the inside of your cheek. “As tempting as that sounds, I don’t want you to get a peek at what kimono I choose!” You say. “It’s supposed to be a surprise.”
Ayato pulls away and crosses his arms over his chest with a defeated sigh. You snort and rest your chin on the palm of your hand, giving Ayato a triumphant smile. You know Ayato. He has been dropping not-so-subtle hints about wanting to know what kimono you’ll be choosing and wearing on your and his wedding day.
Ayato huffs softly, his bottom lip jutting out. “It seems like you know me too well, my love.”
You grin at Ayato and reach for the mochi. “Lord Ayato, as your soon-to-be wife, it’s my job to know my husband well, right?” You tease, taking a bite of the mochi.
“You’re correct, my love. I can’t believe I thought I could get past my intelligent wife,” Ayato bemoans.
You stare at Ayato, sitting back in your seat with your lips puckered. Ayato leans on the table, gazing at you through his long lashes. Archons, Ayato is so breathtaking. It’s almost unfair how your soon-to-be husband is an ethereal beauty. You can see why Yuki, ugh, Yuki, has a thing for your fiancé. Your expression sours almost immediately when Yuki comes across your mind.
“What’s with that expression on your face, dear? Are you thinking about Yuki again?” Ayato teases.
You huff and look away from Ayato. “That and it’s not fair that my husband is beautiful. His beauty outshines the seven wonders of Teyvat,” you murmur.
“It’s a pain to be a beauty sometimes. The burden I carry on my shoulders can get intense, and it’s not for the weak,” Ayato jokes, brushing his hair over his shoulder with a dramatic sigh.
You and Ayato snicker before continuing to eat the snacks Thoma brought for you and the Kamisato heir. While Ayato is talking about what he was doing before your arrival to have afternoon tea with him, you begin to feel strange. There’s this weird feeling in your gut, making you adjust yourself in your seat a couple of times, trying to see if the feeling would pass. You reach for the teacup and take a sip, hoping the tea will wash down the feeling of discomfort bubbling in your stomach.
“Dearest?” Ayato asks, grabbing your attention.
You look at Ayato, continuing to drink your tea. The two of you stare into each other’s eyes for who knows how long. You put your teacup on the saucer and wipe your lips, clearing your throat.
“Yes, Ayato?”
“Are you alright? You seem uncomfortable. Does it feel stuffy in the office?” Ayato asks.
You give Ayato a tight-lipped smile and shake your head. “No, no! The temperature in the office feels fine! Although, there’s this strange sensation in my stomach. I can’t explain it,” you say, rubbing your abdomen.
“You’re not getting sick, are you? How are you feeling right now?” Ayato asks, preparing to get up from his seat to be at your side.
You squint your eyes. “That, I’m unsure of. The Dangos and mochis taste divine as always, and I’m sure they’re not the reason why I’m feeling this way,” you reply.
Ayato looks at you closely. You do seem noticeably paler than usual, and your look almost sunken in. Ayato hums and gets up from his seat while you look at him quizzically. Ayato walks around the table and to your side, removing his gloves before pressing the back of his hand against your forehead.
“You feel a little bit clammy. Are you sure you’re not sick?” Ayato asks, pulling his hand away and putting his gloves back on.
You nod. “I’m sure I’m not sick. This strange bubbling in my stomach is making me want to….” you trail off and take a deep breath.
He hums and strokes his chin. “How about we end it here for today. You should get some rest. Maybe you’ll feel better once you get some rest,” Ayato suggests, holding his hand out.
You reach for Ayato’s hand and let him assist you. You weren’t sure why you were feeling ill all of a sudden— it’s strange and so sudden. You felt fine the day before, and the bubbling in your stomach came out of the blue.
You’re certain the Dangos and mochis didn't make you feel strange. You had Dangos and mochis for a snack the day before, and you felt okay! Whatever it is, you hope it’s nothing serious and that it’ll go away by tomorrow. You and Ayato walk to the door with your arms linked together and you almost leaning against Ayato. The door slides open, revealing Thoma holding a plate that contains more snacks.
Thoma’s eyes widen, and he takes a step back. “Lord Ayato and Lady [Y/N]! May I ask where the two of you are going?” Thoma asks, looking at you and Ayato curiously.
You snort and shake your head. “Thoma, you’ve always called me [Y/N]. Why the formalities now?” You ask, giving Thoma a small smile.
“That is false! I called you ‘my Lady’ once!” Thoma says, propping one hand on his hip while grasping the snack tray with the other. “Now, uh, where are you two going? You two didn’t finish the snacks I brought in previously,” Thoma says, peering over your and Ayato’s shoulders and peeking inside Ayato’s office.
Thoma moves out of the way when you and Ayato step into the hallway of the Kamisato estate. Ayato gestures for Thoma to follow along while escorting you to your and Ayato’s shared bedroom. Thoma follows you and Ayato in silence. Thoma couldn’t help but watch how Ayato is holding you. It’s cute how you and Ayato have gotten close since the first two incidents with the Takahashi Clan— well, the Yuki situation, to be more specific.
Thoma’s glad that you and Ayato are closer than ever and that there isn’t any awkward tension between you two like the first time. Approaching your and Ayato’s shared bedroom, Ayato slides the door open. Sunlight peeks into the room through the thin curtains, illuminating the once-dark bedroom.
You sit on the edge of the bed and take your slippers off. Ayato sits beside you and watches you get under the covers and snuggle into the pillow. Ayato brushes the stray hairs away from your face and gives you a warm yet concerned smile. You smile at Ayato in return and place your hand over his, giving his hand a light squeeze.
“There’s nothing to worry about, Ayato. I’m sure I’ll be okay once I get some rest,” You murmur.
Ayato lets out a long sigh and gives you a strained smile. “I know, sweetheart. Can you blame me for worrying about you?” Ayato chuckles.
You stare at Ayato, keeping your hand over his. Your gaze falls to Ayato’s lips, watching them tremble. You toss the blanket off your body before sitting up and pulling him into your arms, pressing your lips against his jawlines. You rest your head on Ayato’s shoulders and close your eyes, breathing in his cologne. Ayato wraps his arms around your waist, kissing the top of your head and forehead.
You whisper, “I don’t blame you for worrying about me, Ayato. But I can assure you that I’m okay! If that doesn’t quell your worries, then you can have Thoma bring medication for me if you want,” you suggest.
“What medication should we give you when we don’t know the issue?” Ayato frowns.
You shrug your shoulders, laying back on the bed and pulling the blanket over your body. “I don’t know. Medication for my stomach? It’s still bubbling, but I’m hoping it’s those diarrhea bubbling,” you comment.
Thoma snorts before laughing while Ayato tries his best to keep a straight face. Ayato sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose, looking away from you while holding himself back from laughing with Thoma. Ayato takes a deep breath and turns to look at you while you look at him with a sheepish smile.
You clear your throat. “Now that I think about it, the feeling can be from me eating too much spicy food last time,” you said, scratching your cheek.
Thoma nods in agreement. “That’s a huge possibility. We did have a hot pot challenge last time, too, and you know how that ended up for me,” Thoma says with wide eyes.
Your face pinches up, and you nod. “Yeah, you had stomach pain for the next two days,” you reply.
Ayato looks at you and Thoma worriedly, rubbing his temples afterward. You did eat a lot of spicy food not too long ago, and the strange bubbling sensation in your stomach is most likely from the amount of spice you’ve ingested. There’s nothing more than that, right? Ayato’s praying to the electro archon, hoping it was the spice that’s affecting your stomach and not something worse.
“Well, even if you did eat something spicy, I’ll have Thoma bring medication and some water for you after you wake up from your nap,” Ayato says, tucking your hair behind your ears.
Ayato gets up, ready to leave the room, but you grab his arm to stop him. Ayato looks at you curiously, and you pout, pointing at your lips. Ayato chuckles, leans over you, and presses a soft kiss on your pouty lips. Thoma looks away and clears his throat as if he isn’t in the same room as you and Ayato.
Ayato pulls away from your lips, pecking your lips one last time before walking to the entrance of your and his shared bedroom. You snuggle into your pillow and close your eyes after hearing Ayato slide the bedroom door close.
Ayato and Thoma walk through the estate’s hallway in silence. Ayato sighs and crosses his arms behind his back, stopping in his tracks and turning to look at his blond retainer. Thoma stops beside Ayato and looks at him curiously.
“Please get some medicine for [Y/N]’s, I’m assuming, tummyache. Have her take her medicine once she wakes up from her slumber,” Ayato instructs.
Thoma nods. “As you wish, my Lord!” Thoma bows to the Kamisato heir before walking off while Ayato returns to his office.
Since that day, the rumbling in your stomach seems to have worsened. You can barely hold down your lunch and would take frequent stops to the bathroom to empty your stomach. Of course, Ayato wasn’t there when you were throwing up. You didn’t want to tell Ayato about it because he already has too much on his plate, and if you were to tell him about barely holding down your lunch, it’d stress him out even more.
You would rather tell Ayato about it once he’s not stressing out about paperwork and meetings with other clans. Ayaka, however, wasn’t too pleased when you told Ayaka to keep it a secret from her brother. It’s not like you wanted to keep it from Ayato. The man already has so many things to worry about, and your health shouldn’t be one of them.
Ayaka sits across from you in your and Ayato’s shared bedroom. You didn’t have the energy to leave the bed this morning because you felt nauseous. Thoma noticed that you didn’t leave your room and tried to get you, but you refused to leave and asked Thoma to tell Ayaka to stop by your room.
“[Y/N], you must tell my brother. You’re his fianceé! If you continue to hide it from Ayato, it’ll make him question whether you trust him or not,” Ayaka says.
“I do trust him! I don’t want to be a burden like last time.” You say, frowning at the girl in front of you. “I don’t want to be a distraction from his duties, nor do I want him to neglect his job to be at my side.”
Ayaka sighs, slumping in her seat. “[Y/N]... this week is when you’ll be picking out kimonos for your and Ayato’s wedding. We can’t have a sickly bride be out and about away from home. Just what will the citizens of Inazuma think when they see the wife of Kamisato Ayato faint in the city?” Ayaka asks, crossing her arms over her chest.
She has a point there. If your condition worsens, many people will spread rumors about you and Ayato. People might assume he’s a neglectful husband who only cares about his job more than his wife’s health. You can’t have his reputation ruined because of you. You sigh in defeat and nod, gesturing for Ayaka to get her brother.
Ayaka gives your hand a reassuring squeeze before getting up from the bed and walking out the door. You press your back against the headboard, pulling the blanket up to your mid-torso. Not long later, Ayaka and Ayato walk into the room. Ayaka gives you and Ayato a smile before walking out of the room, closing the door behind her.
Ayato sits at the edge of the bed beside you, grabbing your hand. “Ayaka told me you wanted to see me and that it’s an urgent matter,” Ayato says.
Well, shit. If Ayaka said that it was an urgent matter, then this is going to put you in a difficult position. Kind of. How are you going to tell Ayato that your health has been declining since the last time you and he had afternoon tea in his office without freaking him out?
“Sweetheart, what’s wrong?” Ayato’s voice pulls you out of your thoughts.
You give Ayato a weary smile and squeeze Ayato’s hand. “I don’t know how to say this without hurting you. I don’t want you to get upset with me, but if you do get upset with me, it’s understandable,” you murmur.
Ayato looks at you with confusion. “Well, whatever it is, I’m not going to get upset with you.”
“I haven’t been feeling well recently. I feel fine? But I haven’t been able to hold down my lunch. Whenever I eat, I have to,” you make a gesture, “throw it up. I can barely eat without having to empty my stomach not long after.”
“Dearest, why didn’t you tell me sooner?” Ayato asks.
“I didn’t want to distract you from your duties, Ayato. You have important responsibilities to tend to, and I didn’t want to be a burden.”
Ayato cups your face and tilts your head up. Ayato stares into your eyes with a frown before leaning in and kissing your forehead. Ayato pulls you onto his lap and strokes your hair, resting his chin on your head.
“You will never be a burden to me, my love. I would rather have you tell me what’s going on than you hiding it from me as it worsens. Please don’t keep anything from me, [Y/N]. I’m your fiancé, your soon-to-be husband. As your husband, it’s my duty to protect you from any harm,” Ayato says.
You snuggle against Ayato and close your eyes. “Like how you have the Shuumatsuban follow my every move when I’m out of the Kamisato Estate?” You ask, peeking up at Ayato.
Ayato freezes and slowly looks at you. You give him an expectant look, waiting for him to answer your question. Ayato gives you a fake smile and tightens his grip around you, pressing a kiss on your head once more.
“Oh, will you look at that? I shall go fetch the doctor to get you checked up. I don’t think it’s too late for the doctor to come over. After all, it’s still early in the morning, and the sooner you get the check-up, the sooner we know what’s going on.” Ayato clears his throat.
He gets up abruptly and walks out of your and his shared bedroom without sparing you a second glance. You snort and plop on the bed, tossing the blanket over your body. At least Ayato didn’t get upset over the fact that you hid your “sickness” from him. While laying in bed and waiting for Ayato to return— well, you’re not sure if he’s going to return to the room or not— the bedroom door slides open, and Thoma peeks into your room.
“Hey, [Y/N]! How are you feeling? Ayato looks stressed out,” Thoma says, entering the room.
You sit up. “Stressed out? What do you mean by stressed out? He seemed fine when he left the room to call the doctor,” you say.
“Oh! So that’s what he’s stressing out over! But to answer your question, Ayato ignored me when I tried to speak to him not long ago. He was muttering something about you, and then he didn’t respond after I called him before he entered his office,” Thoma replies, shrugging his shoulders with a sigh.
You hug your legs to your chest and rest your chin on your knees. “I’m not sure if Ayaka has informed you about it, but I haven’t been feeling well lately. I can barely keep the food down when I’m eating.”
Thoma nods and leans on the wall. “Yes, Ayaka has made a passing comment about it, but she never really told me the situation. She only mentioned you not feeling well,” replies Thoma, “Anyway! You never answered my question.”
You shrug your shoulders. “I feel meh? If that’s an accurate way of describing how I feel right now. Other than having to empty my stomach whenever I eat, I feel okay. To be honest, I’m not even sure if ‘okay’ would be a good way to describe how I feel.” You mutter, closing your eyes.
“I’ll let you rest.” Thoma pats your head and gives you a sympathetic smile before leaving the room.
Once Thoma left the room, you collapsed back onto the bed and closed your eyes. A wave of nausea hits you hard, causing you to yank the blanket off your body before you sprint to the bathroom to empty your stomach. Even if you emptied your stomach a while ago, you somehow still managed to vomit something. You flush the toilet and close the lid, resting your head on it with a defeated sigh.
You didn’t keep track of how many times you’ve vomited, but you know it’s not normal to be throwing up this much. Especially when you’re a healthy person with no illness. You get up from the ground and walk slowly back to your and Ayato’s bed, plopping face down on the mattress. Your abdomen feels sore, and you just want it all to stop. You close your eyes and drift off to sleep, still face down on the bed.
When you come to your consciousness, you see Ayato hovering above you, gazing down at you worriedly. You blink at him and rub the sleep from your eyes. For some reason, your arms feel heavy, and you can barely lift them to your face.
“Archons, my love. You’re making me very worried,” Ayato sighs, pressing his forehead against yours and exhaling through his nostrils. “Are you alright?” Ayato murmurs, stroking your cheek with his thumb.
You shake your head and stretch your arms above you. “Before I fell asleep, I threw up again. My abdomen is also sore from how many times I’ve thrown up.” You reply, rubbing the sleep from your eyes and sitting up with help from Ayato.
“The doctor will arrive shortly. Do you think you can remain conscious until he leaves?” Ayato asks, brushing your hair away from your face.
You nod. “I’m sure I can.”
You lay in bed with Ayato at your side, holding your hand while talking about his day and the paperwork he filled out before Ayaka called him to your and his bedroom to speak. You can’t help but stare at Ayato’s pretty face. The mole under his lips, his long eyelashes, and the soft gaze he has whenever he looks at you. You feel your heart melt each time he asks you if you’re okay, stroking your cheek with a gentle yet worried smile.
After what felt like forever, a knock came at the bedroom door. Ayato gets up from his spot and walks to the door, sliding it open. Thoma gives you a smile from over Ayato’s shoulders before looking at Ayato, nodding to the blue-haired man.
“The doctor’s here. Do you want me to let him into the estate and walk him to the room?” Thoma asks, crossing his arms over his chest.
Ayato shakes his head. “No, no, it’s fine, Thoma! Thank you for offering, but I will be the one to do it.”
Thoma nods and moves to the side, letting Ayato leave the room and walk to the entrance of the Kamisato estate, where the doctor and Ayaka are conversing. You roll over to your side and hug the extra pillow to your chest, looking at the calendar on the wall. You only have two days left to mentally prepare yourself for the search for a kimono. A week has nearly gone by, and you’re still feeling unwell.
You’re going to have to stop by the shrine to pray and make an offering to the electro archon and hope for the best. The wedding is so close, and you refuse to be sick on an important day. That, and you’re also hoping you won’t have to stop by a nearby store to throw up— that would be embarrassing.
Your thoughts are interrupted when Ayato enters the room with the doctor following behind. The doctor gives you a polite smile and bows in your direction. You smile at the doctor and awkwardly bow back to him. The doctor sets down his bag on a nearby chair before walking over to where you’re sitting.
“Hello, Lady [Y/N]. I am Doctor Sato. It’s nice to meet your acquaintance! Your husband has informed me about your sudden illness,” says Doctor Sato, putting his glass on.
You nod. “Yes, but I’m not sure if I should consider it an illness. While I feel physically fine, I haven’t been able to eat anything without vomiting it back up.” You said, taking the blanket off and turning to face Doctor Sato, now sitting at the edge of the bed.
Doctor Sato nods and strokes his chin, looking at you and Ayato. “How long has this been going on for?” Doctor Sato asks.
You gnaw the inside of your cheek. “It has been going on for nearly a week,” you reply.
“Are there any other symptoms aside from vomiting?” asks Doctor Sato.
You cross your legs and hum to yourself, tapping on your legs while trying to remember if there were anything else aside from vomiting. You can’t really mention a sore abdomen since it’s caused by you vomiting more than you would like to.
“I have been feeling quite fatigued lately. No matter how long I slept, I would wake up feeling lethargic. Sometimes I would feel a little bit sore, but it would go away after a few days. Some of these things happened prior to me vomiting and not being able to hold down the contents in my stomach.”
Doctor Sato nods and taps on his chin as he listens to you explain your situation and the symptoms you’ve been experiencing for the last, maybe, two weeks. Your symptoms didn’t sound severe, but it’s not normal for you to be throwing up often.
“When was the last time you had your menstrual cycle, Lady [Y/N]?” Doctor Sato asks suddenly.
You jolt at the sudden question, and your face heats up. Did he really need to ask you that out of nowhere? Then again…. When was the last time you had your period? I mean, with you going through the traumatic events with the Takahashi Clan and Yuki, you’ve been stressing out a lot because you’re constantly looking over your shoulders.
You shrug your shoulders. “I can’t remember when was the last time I had my cycle. I didn’t keep track of it, really.”
Doctor Sato sighs and tucks his hands into his pockets. “Alright, well, since we don’t know when was the last time you had your menstrual cycle…. When was the last time you and your husband had sex?”
Now it’s your and Ayato’s turn to become flustered. Ayato looks away, coughing into his fist, his cheeks bright red. You press your lips into a thin line and tap on your lap. You try to think back to when you and Ayato got physically intimate. It wasn’t that long ago. Although it certainly didn’t happen the day you had that stomach rumbling for sure.
You and Ayato try to think back to the last time you and he had sex. It was before your stomach had this strange bubbling in your stomach. It was when you were feeling fatigued and sore all of a sudden. Or, at least, that’s what you can recall so far.
“We…” Ayato clears his throat, looking away from Doctor Sato while trying to keep his composure, “We had sex almost two weeks ago.”
Doctor Sato hums and nods. “Interesting…. And you didn’t have your cycle then?” Doctor Sato asks, turning to look at you.
“No, I didn’t have my menstrual cycle then.”
“I might have an answer to what could be the cause of your sudden ‘illness,’ but I don’t want to assume.” Doctor Sato mutters.
The older man walks to his bag and begins digging through it. Ayato walks over to where you’re and sits beside you, placing a hand on your knees and giving your knees a light squeeze of reassurance. You give Ayato a weak smile and rest your head on his shoulders after scooting closer to him.
Doctor Sato pulls something out from his bag and walks to where you and Ayato are sitting. Doctor Sato stops before you and holds out an object in front of you. You grab the object and inspect it. A pregnancy test. Your and Ayato’s eyes widen at the sight of the pregnancy test in your grasp. You look at Doctor Sato, speechless. Ayato stares at the stick in your hand, refusing to take his eyes off the item.
“Your symptom sounds eerily like pregnancy. While I am a doctor, I can’t take all of your symptoms and narrow it down to pregnancy yet because menstrual cycles do have similar symptoms as well. While many women don’t vomit when they’re menstruating or close to their menstruation cycles, some do. I would know because my wife is one of them,” says Doctor Sato.
You turn to Ayato. “Could it be?” You whisper.
Ayato shrugs, still focusing on the stick in your hand. “I don’t know, my love. You tell me,” Ayato murmurs. “Whatever the results are, I just want you to be okay.” His eyes flickered up to your face, leaning in and pressing a kiss on your cheeks.
It didn’t matter if you ended up being pregnant or if it was a pregnancy symptom. As long as you weren’t being poisoned or targeted in any way, Ayato didn’t care. He needs some kind of confirmation that you’re not being attacked. You give Ayato a small smile and kiss his cheeks before getting up from the bed and walking to the bathroom to use the pregnancy test.
You close the door and lock it. The pregnancy test looks intimidating, and you can’t help but wonder if being pregnant is a possibility. It would make perfect sense! Plus, you and Ayato did have sex a few times after the Yuki situation, and your period is late.
You quickly take the pregnancy test and set it on the counter before flushing the toilet. You unlock the bathroom door and step out of the bathroom. You nearly shriek when you see Ayato leaning against the wall rather than sitting on the bed waiting for you. Ayato cracks a smile and walks to you.
“Did I scare you?” Ayato asks sweetly, blinking at you owlishly.
You huff and lightly whack his arm as he wraps his arms around your shoulders, swaying you side to side. “Yes, you scared me! I thought you were sitting on the bed waiting for me.” You grumble, wrapping your arms around his waist.
“Apologies for that, my love. I didn’t want to wait on the bed.” Ayato murmurs, pressing his lips on the top of your head.
You look around the room, only to realize the doctor isn’t in the room. You look at Ayato with a questioning gaze while Ayato looks at you. “Where is Doctor Sato? Did he leave already?” You ask.
Ayato shakes his head. “Doctor Sato has excused himself to use the bathroom in the hallway. I had Thoma show him where the bathroom is,” replies Ayato. “It would be odd if the doctor leaves before we know the result of the pregnancy test.”
“What are you hoping the results be?” You ask, pressing your cheek against Ayato’s chest. “I’m just hoping the vomiting stop because the lack of nutrients in my body is making me feel very weak.”
Ayato kisses your head. “The results don’t matter to me, but….” Ayato trails off.
You look at Ayato curiously. “But….” You raise your eyebrows at him.
“I hope you’re okay, and it’s not something I’m fearing,” Ayato says, letting out a shaky sigh.
You didn’t question him. As much as you wanted to know what he’s implying, Ayato looks stressed out and worried. If you were to press him about it, it would stress him out even more. He has paperwork to complete, and you have shopping to do for your and Ayato’s impending wedding ceremony. The bedroom door slides open, and Doctor Sato walks into the room with Ayaka and Thoma trailing behind him.
“Oh, Ayaka and Thoma! What a pleasant surprise to see you two accompanying Doctor Sato.” Ayato says casually, tightening his grip around your waist while giving Ayaka, Thoma, and Doctor Sato a smile. Doctor Sato walks over to where his bag lays and begins going through it while Ayaka and Thoma stand before you and Ayato.
Ayaka smiles and rubs her arm shyly. “Thoma and I heard that [Y/N] took a pregnancy test. We got curious and wanted to know the results,” says Ayaka.
Thoma scoffs playfully and nudges Ayaka. “We? Last time I checked, it was you that came up to me and asked if I could go with you to ask Lady [Y/N] what the results are,” Thoma chuckles.
Ayaka grumbles and looks away from Thoma, huffing and muttering under her breath. You and Ayato trade look with each other.
You give Ayaka a sympathetic smile. “I haven’t gotten the results yet, but when I do, I’ll let you all know what it is.” You say, nodding.
Everyone sits around your and Ayato’s bedroom, waiting for the pregnancy test to give you the result. While waiting for the results, Thoma is about to get snacks and drinks for everyone as you’re all waiting around, but Ayaka stops him and tells Thoma that eating in a bedroom would attract ants into the bedroom.
You walk to the bathroom and grab the pregnancy test without looking at the results. You walk back to the bedroom with the pregnancy test behind your back, giving Thoma, Ayaka, Ayato, and Doctor Sato an anxious smile.
“Are you guys ready for the results?” You ask, rocking back and forth on the balls of your feet.
“Ready as we’ll ever be!” Thoma replies, giving you a thumbs up and a big smile.
You hold the pregnancy test up to your face and read the results. Negative. You’re not pregnant. For the first time in a while, you feel your heart sink into your stomach. Ayaka frowns and is immediately at your side, placing a comforting hand on your back. Ayaka looks at the results and at Thoma and Ayato, shaking her head.
“The results are negative. I guess the symptoms I’ve been feeling for almost two weeks are menstrual cycle symptoms.” You murmur, letting your hands fall to your sides, the pregnancy test still in your grasp. “And not pregnancy symptoms.”
“At least we know what the cause of your sudden ‘illness,’ right? I’ll make you some ginger tea for you if you’d like me to.” Thoma offers, getting up from his seat.
You give Thoma a fake smile and nod. “That would be nice. Thank you, Thoma.”
Thoma bows to you before exiting the room. Doctor Sato ends up leaving after instructing you on what you should and should not do when you’re close to your menstrual cycle. You drown out the explanations, nodding your head and acting like you’re listening even though you aren’t mentally there.
Ayaka excuses herself to give you and Ayato privacy after Doctor Sato leaves, leaving you and Ayato alone in your shared bedrooms. You collapsed on the bed, slumping over and covering your face with your hands. Ayato wraps his arms around your shoulders, pulling you against his chest. You rest your head against Ayato’s chest, listening to his heart beating against his chest. One day, it’ll be the baby’s heartbeat you and Ayato are hearing.
“I’m not pregnant. So there’s that.” You mutter, looking at the pregnancy test in your hand. “At least we know what’s going on with me.”
Ayato rests his cheek on your head, closing his eyes while rubbing your back. “Tell me what’s on your mind, my love. I hate seeing you heartbroken.” Ayato whispers.
You run your tongue over your teeth and shake your head, refusing to answer. You’re afraid if you tell Ayato that you’re disappointed that the results weren’t positive, you will burst into tears. Your biggest fear, other than losing Ayato and someone putting a target on your back, is not being able to have children. While it’s not your duty to have kids, you want to have kids.
“Sweetheart, please don’t keep it to yourself. You’ll only hurt yourself even more,” Ayato whispers, tightening his grip around you.
You bury your face against Ayato’s chest and take a deep breath to calm your nerves. You love Ayato, and you’re going to be his wife very soon! But being a wife of a prominent figure in Inazuma and not being able to produce heirs and heiresses? People in Inazuma will talk, and some will say that Ayato will need to find another woman that can give Ayato children or suggest Ayato have a concubine. You’re not infertile, or at least you’re hoping you’re not infertile.
This is the first negative pregnancy test. It’s not like there will be more negative pregnancy tests after this one, right?
You pull away from Ayato and wrap your arms around yourself. “If I’m not able to… bear children, are you going to divorce me and find someone else that can?” You whisper, looking at the ground.
“Sweetheart, I’m not going to do such a thing. I don’t care whether you can bear children or not.” Ayato says, cupping your face in his hands and wiping a stray tear that made its way down your cheek. “You have nothing to worry about, my love. I won’t do such a thing, ever.”
You laugh weakly and place your hand over his, giving him a weak smile. “I… was hoping the results came out positive. But to my disappointment, the results came out negative.”
“It’s okay to feel disappointed, my love. Please don’t assume the worst because of one negative test result. There’s always time for us to try,” Ayato gives you a reassuring smile.
You stare at Ayato, trying to read his facial expression. While he has a smile on his face and is comforting you, you know this hurts him as much as it hurts you. You can see the sadness in his eyes, his lips slightly quivering while trying to keep a strong front. You wrap your arms around his waist, hugging him tightly.
“Ayato?” You whisper.
Ayato clears his throat and strokes your hair. “Yes, [Y/N]?”
You bury your face against Ayato’s chest and breathe in his cologne. “I love you.” You peek up at Ayato and reach up, stroking his cheek.
“I love you too,” Ayato hugs you tightly and kisses your head. “I love you so much.”
Your “illness” ended up going away a few days later, much to your and Ayato’s relief. You went to the famous kimono shop in Inazuma City with Ayaka and a few securities at your and Ayaka’s side. While you and Ayaka were out in Inazuma City buying kimonos for your and Ayato’s upcoming wedding ceremony, you couldn’t help but feel self-conscious due to the number of stares you and Ayaka received.
“I never understand why people like to stare at others. It’s rude,” you mutter to Ayaka, your eyes scanning the kimono shop, searching for the perfect one. “I don’t know if I can stay out any longer if the staring progresses.”
“I know how you feel. I always feel nervous when I’m in Inazuma City by myself. People would approach me, stare at me, and whisper about me to the person they’re with. It does get uncomfortable,” Ayaka says, giving you a sympathetic smile. “Anyway, if you’re not able to find a kimono for the wedding, we can always hire someone to stop by the Kamisato estate to get your measurements and make you a kimono.”
You hum and tap on your chin. “I think I like that option better. As much as I loved looking at the beautiful kimonos on display, I don’t think I’ll find the perfect kimono for the wedding here.” You sigh, turning to look at Ayaka with an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry for wasting your time, Ayaka. We came here to search for a kimono for my wedding, only to come out empty-handed.”
Ayaka shakes her head and links her arms with yours. “Please don’t apologize for anything, [Y/N]. You were feeling uncomfortable because of the number of stares we were getting, and you’ve been going through a last the past two weeks. Let’s go back to the estate! I’ll have someone come by tomorrow to get your measurements,” says Ayaka.
Later that night, you’re sitting at your vanity, brushing your hair before going to bed. You hear the bedroom door slide open. You look in the mirror to see Ayato closing the door behind him. You put your hairbrush on the vanity, resting your cheek on your fist with a sigh. The wedding ceremony is so close, and yet you still haven’t gotten your kimono. You pray to the electro archon that the tailor will make your kimono on time before the wedding.
Ayato wraps his arms around your shoulders and leans down, pressing a kiss on your neck. “Ready for bed?” Ayato whispers, gazing at you through the mirror.
You rest your head on Ayato’s chest and close your eyes. “I am. Are you ready for bed?” You ask, opening your eyes and tilting your head up to look at him.
Ayato hums. “I am,” Ayato replies, pressing another kiss on your cheek. “Ayaka told me what happened today.”
You sigh and got up from your seat, pushing the bench under the vanity. “I feel bad for wasting Ayaka’s time. We only looked around. We didn’t get to pick anything out to see or buy for the wedding,” you mutter, turning to Ayato.
Ayato pulls you into his arms and peppers kisses down your neck. “I’m sure Ayaka doesn’t mind, my love. After all, she did inform me that tailors will be coming over for your measurements tomorrow. There’s always a solution to every problem, sweetheart.” Ayato whispers into your ears.
You wrap your arms around Ayato’s waist and snuggle up against his chest. You close your eyes and run your hands up and down Ayato’s back. “Ayato?”
“Yes, my love?” Ayato brushes your hair from your shoulders.
You pull from Ayato’s arms and look at him, playing with the hem of his shirt. “What would you say if I want to try for a baby?” You ask.
Ayato chuckles and pinches your cheek. “Well, I wouldn’t be opposed to it.” Ayato replies.
“Let’s try for a baby.” You blurt out.
Ayato looks at you with wide eyes. “Right now?” Ayato asks.
“We can try any time, really. We don’t have to do it tonight.” You shrug your shoulders, looking away from Ayato.
Ayato tilts your head up and presses his lips against yours. You press your hand on Ayato’s chest before slipping your hands under his shirt. Ayato presses your body against him, slowly backing you up to your and his shared bed. The back of your knees press against the edge of the bed, and Ayato lays you down on the bed, his lips ghosting over your neck while caging you against the bed.
“Remember to keep your voice down. We wouldn’t want to wake Ayaka and Thoma from their sleep.” Ayato whispers into your ears, kissing your jaws.

Rain Samurai 💧 Ayato is one of the characters where I was really surprised that some really love him and others think he is kind of boring. I enjoyed his playstyle but didn't pull for him. How do you feel about Ayato?

Headcanons - Genshin men with the knowledge that you're a vampire: Ayato (ft. Thoma)
Notes from the Crypt: pretend I totally didn't disappear snddnsk as an apology, I give you this piece. Its the first time im writing for Ayato so I hope you enjoy!

• Many people in Inazuma know of your professional relationship with Kamisato Ayato, as you had practically stayed by the young lord's side since he was a child and you a freshly turned vampire. You were bound by contract, you'd be given free access to feed on the fauna of Inazuma in exchange for ensuring Ayato's (and in the future, Ayaka's) safety, or else you'll be sentenced to death, so you didn't really have much of a choice.
• There was one strict rule that you also could never break: you were never to feed from a Kamisato, it was a last resort from the late elder Kamisato to make sure you didn't try to backstab them in any way, and while it was a thorn in your side at first, as the years went by you didn't even give it a second thought. Always disappearing in the night to feed from local wildlife or an unfortunate treasure hoarder.
• Much like you, Ayato also never paid it any mind, relishing in the peace that you brought to him, his family and his household. He had nothing but praise for you, always so willing to listen to his every command and be at his beck and call, he never really took the time to truly wonder what it would feel like to be fed from an individual who lives off blood, as he was always busy with one task or another.
• Your first meeting with Thoma went smoothly, after introductions were made you had the pleasure of showing him around the estate, murmuring your own tips and tricks on getting along with the other workers and the guards as well as telling him that if he were in any kind of trouble to call for you, you'll be there as quick as the Shogun's lightning.
• Poor Thoma may have thought you were joking at first, not thinking too hard on it while he was in the city doing some shopping when he spots something he thought you would enjoy, and after a mumble of your name to himself, he's nearly scared out of his skin when you literally appeared next to him, hand ready to draw your sword at the apparent threat. You're puzzled when you look around, taking in the frightened and confused faces of Thoma and the shopkeepers before you relax and help the trembling housekeeper to his feet, casually dusting him off and remaining by his side while he finishes his errands. Thats the day Thoma found out you're a vampire bound to the Kamisatos.
• You're there when Thoma evolves from a fledging to a respectable worker, watching him form bonds and connections that were simply too complicated for you since the citizens of Inazuma saw you in a more intimidating light than the gentle housekeeper of the Kamisato estate. You werent too bothered by it, you were meant to be threatening and intimidating anyway, whatever helped keep your employers safe, you would pretend not to hear the rumors of the "Kamisato Monster".
• Working with Thoma has been rather refreshing, he was the bright bubbly personality that brought light into your seemingly gloomy existence, as all you've ever known was to obey orders and survive. He was the bridge that connected you and a deeper part of the Kamisato siblings, the line between professional and friendly becoming too blurred to make out until it dissipated entirely and you're now being called upon simply to hang out or be involved in events (you'd actually be given free reign to enjoy said events instead of stand stiffly beside the head of the Kamisato Clan).
• Ayato doesn't know what to make of the feeling that rises in his chest every time he sees you with Thoma, whether in the garden chatting idly or in the city. He knew that your loyalties lied with him and his sister, but he still couldn't stop the growing feeling of jealousy when you're smiling so openly with his housekeeper, regaling him with tales about your undead life that even he didnt bother to know about. That pang of posessive jealousy prompted him to call for you more often, keeping you busy with little mundane tasks like rubbing his shoulders or telling him about your childhood, tell him what you were like before you were turned.
• His inquiries shocked you, if your blood were still pumping through your veins you'd be flushing at the notion that he actually wants to get to know you better, for once he actually wants to get to know you as a person and not see you as just a loyal vampire. You find yourself seeking his company out when he doesnt request your presence, bringing your walls down little by little until he's known pretty much everything Thoma knew, and more. Thoma is excited for you, clasping your hands in his to congratulate you on your growing friendship with Ayato and the simple mention of the word has tears rolling down your smiling cheeks, you never thought you'd see the day your employers become your friends.
• Your friendship with Ayato would eventually become questionable when he caught Thoma mid yawn while sweeping the estate one evening. It wasnt uncommon that the housekeeper would lose a little sleep due to work, but the sight of a healing bite mark on his neck made Ayato's blood run cold. Once again, the shock of jealousy courses through him as he casually asks about the injury. "Oh, this? I gave y/n permission to freely feed from me if they become too tired to hunt. They just kinda took a little too much last night, heh". If Ayato were holding anything in his hand it would have snapped under the vice grip of his clench, smile never wavering as he dismisses Thoma to search for you instead. No amount of hydro would quell the fire that was burning in the pit of his stomach.
• You're changing the bedsheets in his room when he bursts through the door, startling you. "My Lord? Whats wrong?", you tilt your head in confusion, watching as he marches up to you and forces his thumb into your cheek, pulling the skin painfully back to expose your fang, his other thumb hooks into your lower jaw, pulling it down so he can get a clear view of the red that was still staining your teeth and tongue. The look in his eyes was dark as he took in the sight, ignoring the way you were whimpering in his hold, fingers grasping as his wrists yet not making a move to pull him off you, whatever Ayato wanted to do to you, you'd allow it. A few seconds of staring go by before he finally releases you, crossing his arms over his chest to furrow his brows. "So you fed from Thoma? Why's that?", his tone is cold, its the same one you've heard him use to representatives who hit a nerve. You saw the way they would shudder and tremble under its authority, the same way you shivered and felt a chill run up your spine as you rubbed your aching cheek.
• "Huh? He gave me permission... sir", you clear your throat, anxiety rolling through you in waves. Did you do something wrong by feeding from Thoma? You weren't aware that you couldnt feed from him, he wasn't a Kamisato after all so it shouldnt have broken the one strict rule that was enforced on you. Ayato studies you, lavender eyes going from your parted lips to your eyes and back while he gathers his thoughts, the silence only making you want to shrink more into yourself, fearful that you ruined all of the hard work put into getting closer to him. Realization flashes through his eyes for a split second before his face returns to its emotionless state. He takes a step closer to you, you take a step back. He takes a second step closer, you take a second step back until you stumble, falling back onto the plush covers you just laid out on his bed. "M-My Lord... I implore you, I haven't done anything wrong", you can feel the tears in the corners of your eyes, fear paralyzing you while Ayato continues to prowl closer, climbing over you so his face was inches away from yours. "The only thing you did wrong was not ask my permission to feed from me."
• Fear morphs into confusion as you take in his words, studying the look in his piercing gaze. The clouds fogging your mind seem to clear right then and there, the dawning epiphany that Ayato was viciously jealous melts the icy sensation of fear into something more primal. "But... My Lord... I'm forbidden", you whisper, eyes locked onto his while your fingers clench onto his bedsheets. He scoffs softly, hand coming up to pull his collar away from his skin, exposing more of his neck to you. He smirks finally, watching the way your eyes immediately train on his pale skin, how your pupils dilate with desire, bottom lip pulled inbetween your teeth. "Your Lord Kamisato Ayato commands you... to feed from him".
• You moan against his skin, hands pulling him impossibly close while you slowly gulp down mouthfuls of his blood, you had never tasted nectar so delicious in your entire existence. Ayato groans softly above you, face beautifully flushed while his bare hands explore your body, fingers running along every curve while his hips rut against your own, the venom in your bite making his head spin with lust. He takes no notice in the way his blood drips from your chin, or the way it stains his pristine suit, all he's focused on is getting your clothes off you as soon as fucking possible. You whine when he gently pulls you off him, warm blood being replaced by his warm tongue instead as he kisses you deeply, pulling your pants off you and practically tearing your underwear off while you fumble with his pants, trembling fingers struggling to undo his button. He pulls away from your lips with a chuckle, replacing your fingers with his own so he can quickly unbutton them and pull them down just enough to free himself from his restraints, a groan of relief making you shudder with need.
• A whimpering moan is ripped from you when he bullies his cock into you, thrusting shallowly until he bottoms out and stills for a few moments, allowing you to latch back onto his neck so you can continue to feed. You can barely swallow anything with how he sets a vigorous pace, pounding into you. Your screams and moans are muffled through his skin, biting down harder and eliciting a moan from him. He pushes your knees up, allowing him to push deeper into your walls and you finally pull away from his skin with a cry of his name, eyes unfocused. He fucks the jealousy out of his system, eyes never leaving your face, determined to commit your expressions to memory. "Thats right, only I can make you feel like this, ngh... From now on, ah, you're to feed from me only-hah! Is that understood?", he growls, the grip on the back of your knees bruising as you nod dumbly, eyes beginning to roll into the back of your head. "Y-Yes! Ah—yes, M-My Lord!".
• The next time Thoma sees Ayato, he's shocked when there's a bandage on his neck covering the bite you placed on him the previous night. "My Lord, are you alright?", he worries, brows knitting together at the implication that he somehow got hurt, even though it should have been practically impossible with you around. "Worry not Thoma, I gave y/n permission to feed from me, since you seemed to be out of it yesterday. By the way, they'll be coming to me for feedings in the future, so you don't have to worry about that either", Ayato smiles at Thoma, satisfaction practically radiating from the hydro allogene. "Is that so? Thank you for letting me know!", Thoma bows slightly, relieved that you'll have a stable source of blood here at the estate instead of having to go out and hunt. He begins to walk away before pausing at the sound of his master's words. "Oh, could you also bring some fresh sheets to my bedroom? We made a mess last night, be sure not to disturb y/n, they're still resting" .

White Day with Ayato, Itto and Xiao
Tumblr media
Fandom: Genshin Impact
Characters: Kamisato Ayato, Arataki Itto, Xiao
Relationships: Character x reader
Note: Welp, this took longer that I expected 🤣🤣🤣. I apologize to everyone who's been told 14th of March that it'll be finished either that day or day after. Things have happened, as usual but there it is, finally. White Day fics inspired by official art released by Genshin.
Tumblr media
You’ve been running errands all around Inazuma City. Delivering some letters to the Tenryou commission, meeting with some friends in Komore teahouse, then a quick visit to Aoi for some groceries. When you finally collapsed on a lone bench it was late in the afternoon. You tilted your head back and watched the spring breeze play with Sakura petals when you heard a familiar voice.
“There you are.” The voice was low, smooth, and quiet, like a calm river current. This person needn’t raise their voice to capture people’s attention. Finally, you’ve lifted your head to swim in pools of periwinkle. Ayato was a heavenly vision on most days, but today it seemed like he put extra effort to look good. The white of his kimono was even more pristine, his shoes twice as polished. Meanwhile, you fixed your windswept hair with one hand as you tried to untangle the other out of the shopping bag.
“Good afternoon, Kamisato-dono,” you smiled apologetically as if to find a suitable excuse for your bedraggled state. You were always nervous when you were in his presence in less than your best state.
A slight frown marred Ayato’s handsome features. “Why such formalities? I thought I specifically asked of you to call me by my name.” He leaned down to put his handsome face even closer to yours. You felt your heart start to beat wildly.
“There are people my-” He moved his face closer still with the same innocent expression, but the demand in his eyes was more than clear.
“Ayato,” you whispered and felt your face warm up.
Ayato straightened up with a pleased nod. “Now, it’s time for me to whisk you away, my dear. I was looking for you everywhere but you seem to elude me every time.” You opened your mouth to apologize once more, but then you noticed an elegantly wrapped purple box in his hands.
He lifted the box to you with the softest of smiles, “Happy White Day, my love.”
You blinked at him once, twice, then it dawned on you.
“Archons! That was today?!” You stood up quickly, giving Ayato almost whiplash, as you scrambled for an apology. Ayato reassured you swiftly, saying he understands you were busy.
“Now,” he cuts your stuttering with seductive intent in his voice, “how about we find some more private place, and I feed them to you personally.” Ayato finishes his flirtation with a heavy smolder.
You felt yourself heating up once more when you caught sight of the contents of the chocolate box.
“Ayato?”
“Hm?”
“You’ve eaten some of them.”
He gave you his best faux innocent smile.
“I bought us the chocolates.”
Tumblr media
“Over here!”
A booming voice alerted you of another presence as you wobbled dangerously on the ladder. You were changing lamps around the Komore teahouse and overall preparing the outside sitting for the spring. When the local delinquent decided to pay you a visit. He fooled around quite often recently, and despite other staff being concerned for you, you never were annoyed by his presence. Rather, you find it energizing.
“Itto! Wait!”
His presence was currently way too energizing for your liking as he took it upon himself to climb onto a very old rackety ladder as well. The last thing you see is Itto’s horrified expression as the latter tips over. You scrambled to at least catch the edge of the roof, but alas your fingers only brushed the glazed surface.
You let out a scared yelp as you plummeted to the ground. Your sudden impact on the ground was disturbed by a pair of burly arms.
“Crap! Are you ok? I guess the ladder was frailer than I thought…eheheh.” Itto chuckled awkwardly.
You weren’t prepared for such close contact with the bright amber hues of Itto’s eyes. His goofiness and innocence often distracted you from how handsome the young man was. Thankfully, you haven’t had the chance to splutter some nonsense to cover the reddening of your face, as he gently set you down.
“So, uh…” Itto ran a hand through his white locks as you tried not to focus on the flexing of his bicep as he did so. “I wanted to ask when your shift will be over. I wanted to show you something.”
You patted down your clothes and looked around the teahouse. Everything seemed prepared. You’ll just have to let others know you’re leaving.
“I’m done for today. I’ll just put down an apron and I’m ready to go!” you said as you have him a bright smile.
As if you haven’t had enough climbing for the day, Itto brought you to one of the biggest sakura trees near the city and started climbing it.
“Uhh…Itto, I’m not sure about this,” you said as you watched him prop himself on one of the thicker branches. He turned towards you and with a winning grin, he extended his hand towards you.
“Trust me.”
And you did. You let him pluck you from the ground as if you weighed nothing and place you next to him. Then, you climbed the tree with him in tow as he watched your every movement in case you slipped again. Until you finally sat at the place he deemed perfect.
With the swinging feet, you watched Inazuma city from afar as if you could place it in the palm of your hand.
“Pretty neat huh? I found it by accident when I was flung by a ruin guard.” he winced, probably remembering the impact. You couldn’t help but giggle, he always brought a smile to your face. As Itto listened to your cheerful laughter, he felt his heart skip a beat. It’s now or never.
“You’re…You’re really awesome, you know that.”
You turned from the landscape and looked at Itto in surprise at such a heartfelt confession. You noticed pulling a bouquet out of nowhere. After closer inspection, you noticed it was a bouquet made out of lollipops.
“I meant to get you chocolates but I forgot…so I had to improvise…” he scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment. He popped one in his mouth and handed the bouquet to you.
“All of these, just for you!”
The endearing smile, the spark in his eyes, and the sugary treats in his hand. It was all too much, you couldn’t help yourself.
You plucked the lolly out of his mouth and before Itto could react, you placed a big smooch on his lips. He tasted sweet, just as you suspected.
Tumblr media
The formidable yaksha tightly grips a small box wrapped in a ribbon. Easy now, he practiced this many times. He approaches you, reveals his intentions in the clearest way possible, and then gives you these chocolates. No need to be nervous, and yet as your charming smile catches his sight he suddenly forgot the speech he prepared.
He swallows a lump in his throat and steps forward. At that moment he notices a person talking to you. They’re standing rather close for his taste, and there’s this besotted look on their face. You accept a suspiciously looking package and wave them off. Xiao finally comes to you and watches as you put the package onto the pile with two other ones.
This can’t be real.
Was it his bad karma that caused this? You confessed to him last year. Approached him with a hopeful smile, adoration in your eyes and almond tofu carefully wrapped in a bamboo leaf box. Only when he rejected you he realized just how much your happiness means to him as he saw your face fall with such heartbreak. Now, he’s on the tables have turned, and he’s the one standing there dejectedly with a useless gift in his hands.
“Xiao, good to see you!” your cheerful greeting irked him even more. “It’s been a while, how are you?”
“I see you’ve gathered quite a group of admirers.” Xiao ignored your question and tried his hardest not to be spiteful toward you. He clutched the chocolates in his hands. It feels a little ridiculous to give you these, considering…
“Hm, what is this?” The Adepti watches in horror as you swipe the box out of his grasp. Unlike other boxes on the pile, you unwrap this one immediately.
“Mint cookies? I haven’t had those in ages! A bakery in Mondstadt stopped making these. Where did you…?”
“I didn’t-that is…I made them.” Xiao stammered with a blush rising to his cheeks.
You finally looked at him, balking.
“You…you made these??”
Xiao wrought his hands together. This wasn’t part of his speech, what were those words again? The truth is, he doesn’t want to admit that ever since his rejection, he’s been thinking about you constantly, that all this time he looked for ways to get you back, that he traveled all the way to Mondstadt and terrorized local confectionery until they surrendered their cookie recipe to him, or that he spent next months learning how to make these, one burned batch after another until the cookies were perfect.
Instead of waiting for the answer, you pulled one out of the box and bit into one. Xiao waited with bated breath. He did everything to hone his baking skills until they were honed to perfection.
He let out a breath when he heard your appreciative hum.
“These are amazing! Just like I remember.”
You gave the yaksha one of your most beautiful, dazzling smiles, and before he could think it over, Xiao hear himself saying: “I would make you these every day if you chose me.”
You felt your heart skip a beat. At this point, Xiao’s face went completely ruddy but he tried to maintain his composure by looking as stoic and unflinching as ever.
Cute.
“Well…” you wiped the remaining crumbs from the corner of your mouth, “how can I say no to a deal like that.”
You pulled him close and Xiao could only hopelessly close his eyes in shyness as you pressed another cookie to his lips.

An Unknown Visitor 𖤓
Pairing(s): None (If there was it's almost always gonna be one-sided smh)
Genre: Comedy (w/ Angst if u squint)
C/W: possible ooc characters, the occasional curse, they/them pronouns, it gets confusing in some parts lol
Summary: Their "world" is handed over to another Creator, the reason completely unknown to them. To solve this conundrum, will they let this unknown god take control of them or will they make their stay a living hell?
One of a kind fic that I actually proofread, beware.
Ft. My friend's world & my high AR ass ✨
Tumblr media
It had been a while since their Creator had been back. Most things were suffering subtly without Their guidance, and it'll only get worse the longer They're away.
So, to feel the divine aura that their Creator bore on one afternoon brought quite an uproar in Teyvat.
...
But the land and its vegetation felt that something was wrong.
...
Terribly wrong.
Tumblr media
The four rushed back to their previous positions, back at the entrance of the Golden House, making sure that their perspective and placement was perfect. That they were perfect.
Even the soldiers standing guard made sure their body was as straight as a board.
They weren't overreacting, they were just happy that You were back! Promise!
Though, You did seem like You were having trouble accessing Your creation - which was quite uncharacteristic of You, but they were willing to wait the while.
As long as You spent time with them, all of their worries and doubts will wash away no problem.
Tumblr media
So that was why Your aura had been... particularly powerful.
They felt like You were already around them the moment you opened the medium to access their world.
Now, their original Creator felt comforting, a safe space, and a place to come to when they're stressed. But You...
You felt quite overwhelming to anyone that had been unfortunate enough to be on the active team.
It was like a big weighted blanket was draped over them, one that was so heavy it nearly prevented them from moving.
... Nearly.
It was comfortable, yes, but they felt like it was too much for them to handle.
Uncomfortable, even.
And the ones that first felt this were Ayato, Yanfei, Yaoyao, and Albedo. They all had an array of opinions, that's for sure.
Yaoyao felt like multiple Yueguis were on her, cuddling with her and not letting her escape. She tried moving the best she could, but she felt like her companions were being too clingy.
And while she wanted to stay and cuddle with the imaginary Yueguis more, there was a deity that was of higher rank that was watching her - and she needed to get her priorities straight, lest she'll get a scolding from her master.
Ayato felt like he was experiencing his childhood once more, wherein he and her sister were bundled up and tucked into their bed the previous night, only to get tangled up in each other's arms the next morning. Neither sibling wanted to let go of eachother, the both of them being too comfortable for their own good.
He knew he was still in the present now, where even seeing his sister for more than an hour was a rare occurrence - due to how busy he and Ayaka were.
And even if he wanted to stay like that for more than a while, something that was more powerful than Teyvat's Creator was observing him and the others. If he wanted his head to be connected to his neck by the end of the day, he needed to keep his professionalism and manners to it's fullest. But first, stress drinking... *insert loud sipping sounds here*
Albedo felt like he was back at his laboratory, the one that was situated at Dragonspine. Even though he was at the front of the Golden House at Liyue, he could unconsciously see and hear Sucrose hacking away into making a potion or a medicine of sorts from the looks of it.
He felt that a big blanket was on him, his back on his makeshift bed. While it was rare for the Chief Alchemist to get sick, it seemed like this was one of those occasions where he caught one. Outside of his laboratory, a snowstorm roared violently - an archon might even have difficulty traversing such an intense weather.
Though he knew none of his auditory nor visual hallucinations were real, it does make him think if Dragonspine is experiencing an extreme snowstorm right now, and if she was still in his lab, Sucrose would be stuck in there for quite a while.
For Yanfei, another blanket that was similar to that of Albedo's was on her. Along with the blanket, an ice pad is gently placed on her forehead. The sound of various pots and utensils could be heard clicking against eachother from another room, the smell of a piping hot soup freely traversing her childhood home.
It looked as if she was having quite an intense fever, likely due to staying and playing for an extended amount of time in the rain - as evidenced by the heavy shower of rain pouring outside.
Even though she could vividly see, hear and smell the scene in front of her, she knew that none of her visual, auditory, and other senses were cooperating with her.
She, Ayato and Albedo theorized that this... God may be trying to trick them into 'submitting' faster - but, the look of blinding excitement on Their face made them doubt their claims.
All of them wished to simply lie down and drown in Their presence, but it wouldn't end well - as was seen and reported by the daughter of Wanmin Restaurant's owner, their lives could also be at stake if they were to upset Them.
Though, they knew who this other Creator was, as They would often visit Their Grace's world, aka this Teyvat. A few ancient tablets, records and scrolls have also referenced that the Two have known eachother for a long while.
It has been subtly hinted that They're quite impatient, both in the eyes of other acolytes and as described in the scriptures about Them, it had all been proven as true.
This Creator was also very powerful, only taking them no less than 3 minutes to defeat the Primal Geovishap that had been causing some recent seismic activity near Tianqiu Valley.
Tumblr media
This was... quite the sight...
Flurries of "What the fuck"'s "Ain't no way man"'s, along with others that were accompanied with curses that could only be from Their mother tongue and common language could be heard from their ears.
It was a worrying but a curious sight for anyone lucky enough to witness such a scene.
An entity that was stronger than their Creator was weeping from the artifacts that Their Grace had entrusted them.
"Why does Albedo have an HP% circlet?? HE DOESN'T EVEN SCALE OFF OF HP- OH MY FU-"
Albedo sat there in silence, a sweat dropping from his forehead. Even before looking through their held weapons and artifacts, They expressed high caution and extreme weariness - almost as if They were already expecting the oh-so rare antiques they've been given by Their Grace to be absolutely worthless from their own personal tast-
"WHY IS YAOYAO HOLDING A GEO DAMAGE BONUS GOBLET???? IS THIS- GIRLIE WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FU-"
Oh boy, this was going to be a wild ride indeed...
Tumblr media
All of them felt concerned for you, really really concerned. Really, believe them! Though, maybe it was time to take a break, Your Eminence?
You've already helped them out enough, and they're truly truly grateful, but you've almost broken into tears for nearly the 4th time in the span of 1 hour - which was technically 2 ½ days for them, but still.
It would be best if Their Eminence gets Their proper rest, even if it might take Them a long time to come back.
...
The acolytes look at their new - but albeit unknown - Creator. They couldn't help but think to themselves...
Had this change... been consented to by Their Grace? Did Their Grace allow Them to just swoop them up under Their wing? Didn't Their Eminence already have another Teyvat to take care of? Wouldn't it be quite troublesome for them to balance the time they spent between both? What would that Teyvat think? Could it even think?

Tumblr media
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU AND AYATO SWIPED RIGHT!
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE HIS PROFILE?
[ YES ]
Tumblr media
Congratulations! You may have possibly got the jackpot. AYATO is a man who's got a thousand of faces, but when it comes to people he may have a chance of liking or being with, it can change. And for you... Well, he found you interesting, that's for sure.
Considering that he works as another businessman, AYATO is busy in his job. He can sometimes get too busy, but if you simply ask him to spare some time for you, he'll do it at the drop of the hat. Though, you may want to endure a bit of his teasing— he's a bastard and he wears it on his chest proudly.
You like a man who's possessive? In some way, you can say that AYATO is that. His way of having to keep what's his differs, though. He has the means to be able to take care of them easily, but if that doesn't work, then he has other fail-safe methods. Some even say they are worse than a simple visit.
He's quite soft with anyone he likes, but in his own way, you can say that he likes keeping what is his and his alone. God forbid that you tell him someone's trying to stake a claim on you, dear. AYATO isn't afraid of having his hands dirty (if all else fails, of course).
To many people, you can say that AYATO is protective to a certain degree. He doesn't enjoy the idea of someone having to think they got a chance, and sometimes, you may find yourself in his arms.
... What's strange, though, is that in off days, you may find him act offputting. Maybe it's because you couldn't see those red flags sailing by, but...
Maybe, just maybe, its wise to stay cordial and pliant. Don't piss him off, dear. Even I can't guarantee your safety.

. impatience !
kamisato ayato x fem!reader w no pronouns, oral (reader receiving), he’s a teasing little shit, breeding / impreg kink, multiple orgasms, overstimulation, dacryphilia
a/n: happy birthday ayato !
Tumblr media
it had been such a long day.
already late at night, the moon shining so beautifully bright and you were sitting next to your husband on a blanket, head leaned on his shoulder as you were stargazing.
“thank you”, he mumbled before he planted a soft kiss on your forehead. you had organized a small dinner for him with ayaka and thoma; just a little get-together to celebrate his birthday.
he had been away on commission business for a couple of days so the little celebration had been a pleasant surprise to him. ayato could swear that seeing his loved ones celebrate his birthday was the most beautiful gift he ever could have received.
“of course, love. you deserve all the best”, you looked up to him before you pulled his head down for a little kiss on his lips. you had been holding yourself off from any sort of pda because you still got slightly embarrassed to kiss your best friend’s brother in front of her. now that you were stargazing at the kamisato estate’s beautiful garden and were alone together, you simply didn’t care anymore.
the little kiss quickly turned into something more intense. not only you had missed ayato a lot, he also had been dreading the moment he would return home to you (and his sister, obviously).
“mhm, i missed this”, he cooed, unable to get that smile off his lips. “i missed you.”
your heart pretty much melted on the spot. he always said that but he never was able to do anything about it because of his workload.
“can i show you how much i missed you, love?”
–
oh, and how he did show you.
the moment you were locked in the safety of your shared bedroom his hands were all over you, roaming, feeling your body up before he settled them on your waist as he kissed down your neck. as he slowly led you to the bed, he couldn’t help his smile at how gorgeous you were.
“now tell me, love. did you do anything while i was gone?”
the embarrassed and shy smile was telling stories.
“i’ll take that as a yes. tell me, what was it that you did?”
“i… did absolutely nothing. i swear”, you giggled. “come on, i was waiting patiently for you, love. i’m just teasing you, i promise.”
“you better be”, ayato laughed before he was kissing you again, now on top of your body on the comfortable bed. you loved having these playful moments with him, especially shortly before he was going to fuck your brains out. you knew he never was serious about this kind of things.
“come on, let’s get you out of these. ‘m getting a little impatient here”, he groaned, pulling off your shirt before he started unbuttoning his own. ayato was so impatient to please you that the moment your bra was off, he was sucking on your nipple, playing around with the other one. you couldn’t help the soft moan leaving your lips when you closed your eyes, arms around his neck as you planted kisses over his jaw and neck.
“but this isn’t fair”, you pouted. “it’s your birthday. i should be the one spoiling you.”
“shush, you spoil me enough by just laying there underneath me and letting me do whatever i want to with your body”, he replied. “i’m perfectly happy here.”
he proved his point by pulling off your pants and burying his head between your legs, holding your thighs spread wide open before he licked up a your folds and had you whimper in surprise.
“mhm, you taste so good like always. what a perfect dessert to finish the night with, huh?”, he grinned before he simply dived in and didn’t let you answer at all. and the moment he slipped a finger inside, you were totally gone, unable to produce a word or a thought because of both stimulations.
“doing so good for me”, ayato murmured against your cunt, tongue playing around with your clit as he continued fingering you at the same time. “come for me, love. i know you’re close, i know you can do this.” he was so smug about making you come for him, the grin on his lips never leaving as he had you close your legs around his head. you were so close to finally lose control over your body, so, so close..
as he pulled off so suddenly, going back on top of you, chin and lips glistening with your slick. “did you really think i bought that shit off? ‘i promise i didn’t do anything’, do you think i didn’t see the cum on that toy you thought you had hidden, oh, so well? could’ve at least washed it off, love. not only did you play with yourself, you lied to me. i would’ve been okay with you playing with yourself, but the lie?”, he was using his authoritative voice on you, the one that always had you weak in your knees. “simply unacceptable.”
“okay, i’m sorry for lying. but i just missed you so much. please, i–”, he shut you up by kissing you deeply, you tasted yourself on his lips.
“cut it, love. you will take what i give you. i will fill you up so much, until you’re pregnant with my child”, he was so quick to pull off the remainings of his clothes, aligning his cock with your entrance before he slid all the way in.
your eyes closed in the moment of ecstasy rushing through your veins, crying out in pain and pleasure. ayato couldn’t help the low moan escaping his throat, immediately picking up a fast and hard pace, the sound of skin smacking against skin was echoing from the walls and you were so sure you were going to get teased by ayaka the next day. you were unsure whether you’d be able to look into her eyes again from the embarrassment.
“i’m going to fuck you so good, all fucking night, baby. you will be so full of my cum that the sheets will be soaked, darling”, he groaned, rubbing your clit at the same time to get you to the edge faster.
“please, ayato, please. i need it so bad”, you cried, legs wrapped around his waist, fingers digging little marks into his back in attempt to have some sort of hold.
“aw, are you getting impatient? you need to come? well, too bad”, he replied, pulling out of you as he tapped his tip against your clit a couple of times. “you’re going to go through this a couple more times, i’m afraid.”
he kept his promise. he didn’t let you come for a couple more times until your body simply couldn’t handle the stimulation and you came all around his cock, thighs shaking like crazy. in the meantime he had already filled you with his cum once, making you feel all warm and fuzzy in your tummy. “mhm, you did so well, love. i’m proud of you”, he praised you.
once you were somewhat calmed down again, ayato easily slid back into you, continuing his crazy fast pace once again. the initial stretch had tears rolling down your cheeks, the whines and moans you let out were pure music to his ears and he simply couldn’t help to wipe off your tears off your cheeks.
“please, ayato, please come inside me”, you cried. and simply because of how desperately you asked for it, he was considering to tease you and cum all over your belly, paint your skin with the droplets of his cum. and he actually ended up doing that, pulling out the moment he was coming, jerking himself off as he groaned and came on your body – the image he created for only his eyes to see was absolutely gorgeous.
“don’t worry, love. i got so much pent - up need for you saved. we won’t be done anytime soon. after all, i still need to make sure you get pregnant with my baby, don’t i?”
when he finally thrusted back into you, you were unable to keep your cries down, he had to kiss you to shush you down.
“mhm, yes, baby, you feel so good”, he groaned, holding up your legs over his shoulders, while he was fucking back his cum into your hole. “you take me so fucking good, i’m so proud of you, darling. just come for me, baby. you can come for me all you want. don’t worry, i won’t stop. i don’t have the patience to stop and tease you anymore. i’m just going to fill you up over and over again, until you’re absolutely full of me and don’t remember anything except for my name and the way i make you feel.”
he simply couldn’t stop babbling nonsense, the stimulation slowly getting to him, taking over his mind.
“you can take it, baby, i know you can. you were able to take way more before, i know you can do this”, he panted, breathless.
and shortly after, he was once again filling you up as he made you see stars, eyes rolling back, and he was watching his cum drip out of your hole as he pulled out, making you whine in desperation.
“aw, look at how much you’ve came already. but i’m not done yet. i got so much in store for you, love.”
though he was unsure how much more he would be able to handle, with the overstimulation slowly getting to him, making it harder for him to focus on ruining you. but he was absolutely determined to have you lose every sort of control you had over your body.

summary – sometimes you wish you could go back in time and prevent yourself from ever meeting him
warnings – angst, implied death, spoilers (maybe?)
note – saw a tik tok that inspired this <3 anyhow, wanderer finally came home and I feel it is important you all know I only played this game for him <3

the night we met :: lord huron
Tumblr media
DILUC RAGNVINDR
diluc is difficult to love because he will not love you; perhaps he cherishes you more than anything in his life, but he can not allow himself to keep you close. He will let you do as you please, so you may be happy, but he stays awake wondering what fate will befall you because you refuse to keep your distance from him. It hurts, watching your face fall when he ignores your anniversary despite memorizing the date as a core memory because he wants you to leave. He is too weak to do it himself, but he knows you will be safer when you finally learn to hate him.
KAEYA ALBERICH
Kaeya goes out of his way to make life difficult for you because he realizes that he cares for you too much. It is such a sudden change from the charismatic charming man you know to the borderline cruel person who actively seeks to ruin your life. Any affection you held for him burns down fast, while his remains the same. He wishes he could burn his own bridges as easily as he can burn yours. But he is terrified of the day where he will either have to make the choice himself or will have to see something through regardless of his own wishes. He doesn't know which is worse, but if it can not be painless for him, then at least he hopes he will lessen your burden by making you hate him. At least he won't be a traitor in your eyes, if you always see him this way.
ALBEDO ;; KREIDEPRINZ
It is never on purpose. It has always been like that. He is not human, even if he may sometimes wish he were. Time feels slower for him; while you wish to celebrate a one year anniversary, he doesn't understand. It is just one year. You are both so fundamentally different that he does not see what you see, he tries but he is so caught up in how own world, his own ambitions, that it is easy for him to forget how human you are. And when he realizes why so many things mattered to you that didn't matter to him were so important, you will already be gone, and he wonders if it would have been better to just be alone forever than to have his world ripped out of his hands too early.
CHILDE ;; TARTAGLIA
The thrill of the battle is something he can not let go of, the adrenaline rush and the thrill of having his life on the line. It is so much better when he knows he will die shall he fail. He knows it bothers you, knows it worries you that one day he will go down and you will be without him, but he isn't willing to stop. It is an addiction, a need. He rushes into fights even with you, doing things just for the rush of the way you scream at him, hoping you'll throw things around and attack him, as he let's his own anger take over and run the charge. It is painful; the constant fighting, and the constant fear. But he can not stop it. He is all too devoted to the adrenaline rush.
KAMISATO AYATO
You will never be his first priority, you are barely ever even his second priority. His devotion is to his family, his sister first and foremost. Then to his duty and the lives he is in charge of. It is never you, sometimes he even puts your life at the line even as it pains him. He knows where his loyalties must lie, and they can never be with you. He will watch the fear in your eyes, feel the way you shake and cry in his arms despite the both of you knowing he is at fault. He sees the life in your eyes die day by day and his heart breaks, wishing you would free yourself from this nightmare already.
WANDERER ;; SCARAMOUCHE
He wishes he were better, wishes he had the chance to meet you centuries down the line when he had grown and learnt. But he meets you at the start of his learning process, and it is painful. He spews the cruelest words he can manage, hitting each and every vulnerable part that you have shown him, willing or not. He apologies, he knows he is wrong so he does his best to apologize and make up for it, but he does it all again the next day. He knows it hurts; can not phantom why you stay with him when all he does is cause you misery. But you do, and he knows you will abandon him too, and he is too selfish to let you go himself.

KAMISATO AYATO X FEM! READER
Tumblr media
"What a pretty girl you are, so obedient just for me♡"
The male chuckled to himself before scratching under your chin as drool seeped out from your lips, your eyes glistening with tears. "A-Ayato♡—" You pant out, only for him to place a finger against your lips. "Ah-ah, did I say you could talk dearest?" He slyly spoke. He laughed when your head started dipping down, your gaze fixed to the floorboards instead of him. Kamisato Ayato found it endearing that you were hanging on to every single word he said, almost like a kicked puppy so to say.
Tugging on the leash that was connected to your collar, you were forced to look up to your benefactor. A pleasant grin carved into his face as he held up a small controller in his hand "Now, let's try turning it up a li~ittle higher alright, puppy?♡"
[ H E A D C A N O N S ! ]
• Despite his refined and elegant appearance, you'd never guess that he was such a perverted man
• He'd gently coax you into acting out his deepest desires, with the promise that he'll take good care of you once you're done
• Of course, he's the kind of man who'd leave you in the dark; waiting just around the corner to surprise you with whatever he had in mind that day
• He was particularly fond of petplay, where he'd often place a collar on you before tying a leash to it, grinning to your flustered face as he walks you around in his private quarters
• He takes it to the extreme where he even bought a vibrating butt plug that had a furry end to it, your 'tail' as he calls it and that you should never take it off without his permission
• Kamisato Ayato is also a cheeky man, he'd 'accidentally' turn on the plug to its highest setting before excusing you and himself to the guests as your knees start to buckle; to which you shakily let out an agreement
• Once you've arrived in his bedroom, he's taking his sweet time in undressing you, your soft supple skin simply covered in sweat and that you were begging to have your needs filled
• "Go on, keep crying like a bitch in heat, dearest♡" He says, gripping on to your hips as he forces you down on his cock; relishing the way your cunt tightens around him as your moans fuels him even more
• As soon as the bed has been thoroughly wet ( by your mixed fluids ), the male does a stupendous job at cleaning up; carefully setting aside your fainted figure as he places on to a new mattress to sleep on for the night

Caught in The Crossfire 2
Pairings: Kamisato Ayato x fem!Reader
Summary: After you have been poisoned, you couldn't help but feel skeptical about the servant that works for the Kamisato estate. When voicing your concerns about the servent, Ayato brushes your concerns away. Only for it to inflict more harm on you.

Caught in the Crossfire Chapters: [1], [2], [3]
Ever since you have been poisoned, doctors and health specialists have been entering and exiting the Kamisato Estate. The head of the Kamisato Clan has issued an order for there not to be any visitors other than healthcare professionals. You were receiving twenty-four-hour care to make sure your condition wasn’t getting any worse with your fiance by your side. Your condition didn’t get any better, nor did it get any worse. Ayato was not happy that you weren’t feeling any better, but he was glad that you weren’t getting any worse. You slept most of the time in your bedroom, you could barely open your eyes, and you could barely speak. I mean, how could you? You didn’t have much energy left in you to be able to communicate with your fiance, future sister-in-law, and Thoma.
“Dearest, please eat something. You’ll feel a little bit better once you’ve eaten something.” Ayato says, brushing your hair away from your forehead. You blinked up at Ayato with bleary eyes, unable to focus. You’re so tired. You just want to go back to sleep.
“But I’m tired.” You whispered, weakly rubbing your eyes.
“I know you are, but you can’t just sleep all day. You need to eat something; then you can go back to sleep.” Ayato whispers. You hummed before nodding your head reluctantly. A relieved smile appears on Ayato’s face. He gently lifts you up from the bed, pulls you into his arms, and cradles you in his arms. A soft knock comes from the door, and Ayato looks up.
“Come in,” Ayato says. The door slides open, revealing one of the Kamisato Estate’s servants. You look away from the woman, burying your face into the nape of Ayato’s neck. This woman, in particular, did not like you, and you did not know why. Not once did you talk to her, but you have been nothing but kind to the woman. You remembered your first encounter with her when you have first arrived at the Kamisato Estate as Lord Ayato’s fiancee.
“Hello, I am [L/N] [Y/N], Lord Ayato’s fiancee.” You gave the woman a polite smile as you bowed to her. She was pretty young; perhaps she was Ayato’s age and slightly older than you. Nonetheless, you knew this woman would have an issue with you by the way she was gazing at you. The woman stares at you with an eyebrow raised, her mouth is slightly ajar. Her eyes scanned you from head to toe, sizing you up. She lets out a scoff, the corner of her lips quirking up in a smirk. You cleared your throat awkwardly, scratching the back of your neck.
“May I know your name?” You ask softly, feeling the apples of your cheeks heating up at the awkward atmosphere between the two of you. The woman rolls her eyes with a huff of breath before turning around and walking off, not saying anything else to you.
“Oh, good! Yuki, you’re here with [Y/N]’s food.” Ayato says; Yuki says nothing and rudely plops the tray of food in front of both you and Ayato, causing parts of the rice porridge to splatter on you. You winced at the contact; Ayato glares at Yuki before reaching over for the towel, wiping the pieces of rice porridge off of your arms and clothes.
“You’re dismissed, Yuki,” Ayato states, giving Yuki a cold glare before turning back to you. Yuki rolls her eyes and turns around, closing the door behind her with force. “Don’t mind Yuki; she’s always been a troublesome child,” Ayato mutters, shaking his head in disapproval.
“I don’t think she likes me at all.” You whispered, peeking up at Ayato.
“What makes you say that?” Ayato asks, reaching over to the bowl of rice porridge, scooping up rice porridge before holding it out in front of you.
“It’s quite obvious. Other than how Yuki had placed down the bowl of rice porridge, she has never liked me since I’ve arrived at the estate.” You said, opening your mouth for Ayato to feed you rice porridge. The rice porridge was delicious; you assumed that it was Thoma that cooked the rice porridge for you to eat, and since he was busy with other duties, Thoma probably asked Yuki to deliver the food to you and Ayato. Of all servants Thoma could’ve asked, he had Yuki deliver the rice porridge to you and Ayato. Yuki, the woman that hates you for unknown reasons.
“I believe that’s nonsense. Perhaps Yuki is having an awful day and is having trouble with keeping it to herself.” Ayato mutters, continuing to feed you.
You couldn’t help but deflate at Ayato’s response. Was it not apparent to Ayato that Yuki didn’t like you? Heck, it wasn’t just Yuki that dislikes you. Almost every servant under the Kamisato Clan despises you for unknown reasons aside from Thoma. Thoma was the only housekeeper of the Kamisato Clan that made an effort to get to know you better and become a friend of yours.
“You’re right, Lord Ayato.” You sighed softly. Your shoulders slumped down in defeat. If Ayato didn’t believe that Yuki hated you, would Thoma and Ayaka believe you? “Maybe it’s all in my head.” You whispered, swallowing the forming lump in your throat. Ayato looked at you in confusion as you got out of his arms and laid back down on your bed.
“Why are you laying back down? You still haven’t finished your food yet.” Ayato says, moving closer to where you were lying.
“I’m not feeling hungry anymore. I’ve lost my appetite.” You stated, pulling the blanket up to your chin, your back facing Ayato.
“What’s wrong? Have I upset you somehow?” Ayato asks.
You frowned and shook your head with a quiet exhale of breath. Even though you were upset that Ayato didn’t see the issue with Yuki’s discontentment with being around you, seeing you, and having to deliver food to you, you couldn’t be mad at him. After all, he is pretty oblivious sometimes.
“You didn’t do anything to upset me, my lord. I’m just feeling fatigued.” You said softly, grabbing the extra pillow in front of you before hugging it close to your chest.
My lord?” Ayato mouths to himself, giving you a quizzical look. “Are you sure I didn’t do anything to upset you?” Ayato asks, placing a gentle hand on your back. You nod your head, continuing to not look at him.
“I’m sure, my lord. You can go back to your duties.” You murmur, feeling your eyelids grow heavy before letting out a quiet yawn.
Ayato frowns, letting out a soft sigh before getting up from his spot. Before he left your bedroom, Ayato looked over his shoulder one last time before closing the door shut behind him. You slowly opened your eyes and looked over your shoulders before resting your head back down on your pillow. You hugged the pillow tightly and buried your face into it, hoping that it’ll muffle the sounds of your cries.
It was very obvious that Yuki did not like you at all and you were genuinely shocked to see that Ayato didn’t notice the change in behavior whenever Yuki was in the same room as you. You suspected that Yuki may be harboring some feelings for Ayato and is holding a grudge against you solely because you’re engaged to the head of the Kamisato Clan himself. If that wasn’t the case, then what is Yuki’s reason for not liking you at all? You’ve never met her before moving into the Kamisato Estate, nor have you wronged her in any way. Was there something going on between Ayato and Yuki prior to your engagement with Ayato? So many questions kept popping up in your mind, keeping you awake. For the next few days, you have decided to avoid Ayato— or tried to avoid him. Instead of Ayato feeding you, you asked if Thoma could feed you instead or if you could feed yourself instead of having Ayato do it for you. It confused Ayato, but he reluctantly agreed. Seeing another man feed you food made Ayato feel a little bit strange. His heart clenched at the sight, making it nearly impossible to be in the same room when Thoma was feeding you rice porridge.
“Who made this porridge?” You ask, smacking your lips together when you try to get a clear taste of the porridge. This porridge did not taste like the ones Thoma would make; you knew what Thoma’s cooking tastes like, and this was not one of his cooking.
“Yuki did! I wasn’t able to make your food today since I had to help Lord Ayato with some of his tasks around the estate.” Thoma replies, holding the spoon up to your lips.
“Yuki did? Interesting. I didn’t think that she’d make me any sort of food.” You muttered, continuing to let Thoma spoon-feed you the porridge that Yuki had made for you.
“I’m sure Yuki is fine with making some food for you to eat, [Y/N]. After all, it is one of her duties as a servant of the Kamisato Clan.” Ayato says, crossing his arms over his chest. You sighed softly and looked away from Ayto, pulling the plush throw blanket to your chest. You look over at Thoma with a faint smile on your face, “I think that’s enough for today, Thoma.” You gently pat his arm.
“But, you barely ate, My lady! I only fed you three spoonfuls of porridge!” Thoma says, giving you the puppy dog eyes.
“I think three spoonfuls of porridge is enough for today. I’m feeling tired.” You said, clearing your throat. Thoma places the bowl down before handing you a glass of water; you gratefully take it from Thoma’s hand and take a sip of water.
“Perhaps you’re feeling tired because you’re not eating enough.” Ayato comments, you ignored Ayato’s comment before handing the cup of water back to Thoma.
“I’m going to bed now.” You stated, laying down on your bed with your back facing both Thoma and Ayato. Ayato and Thoma traded looks with one another before leaving your bedroom.
How long has it been since you’ve been poisoned? The perpetrator has yet to be caught, and the Takahashi Clan vehemently denied the claims of attempting to assassinate the head of the Kamisato Clan or his fiancee.
Of course, Ayato did not believe the Takahashi Clan and their claims. Instead of making the tension even worse between the Kamisato Clan and the Takahashi Clan, Ayato remains silent while having Hisashi continue his duties to search for the perpetrator. The doctors have given you as many medications as they could to slow down the poison in your system, but it continues to kill you gradually.
There were nights when Ayato would go into your room to make sure that you were still alive and breathing. He would have your bedroom window blinds cracked opened, just enough for him to see you. Ayato would hover his fingers above your nose to make sure he could feel you breathing through your nose. Sure, he could check and see if your chest was moving up and down with every breath you take, but with the mountain of blankets resting on top of you made it almost impossible to see.
“Please get well soon. I can’t stand seeing you like this.” Ayato whispers, brushing your hair away from your forehead. With Ayato having Hisashi working behind the scenes to catch the assassin, Hisashi was also able to find a renowned alchemist in Inazuma to create a concoction to stop the poison from spreading any further. Ayato roused you from your sleep at two in the morning, sitting on the side of your bed as you slowly began to awaken. You blinked up at him with bleary eyes, still laying on your back as you weakly rubbed your eye with the back of your hand. You yawned and stretched, slowly sitting up on your bed while scratching your bedhead.
“Why’d you wake me up in the middle of the night, my lord?” You mumble, glancing over at the Kamisato heir with a faint pout on your face.
“Hisashi found an alchemist that made an elixir to stop the poison in your system,” Ayato says, handing you the small glass tube.
“And you woke me up for this?” You grumbled, squinting at the green liquid inside of the container.
Ayato frowns, “Oh, did you not want the poison to be reversed?” He cocked an eyebrow at you.
“My lord, I’m saying that you could’ve saved this for the morning after I have woken up from my slumber.” You grumbled, taking the glass vial from his hands before uncorking it.
“Well, if you don’t want it, I can always give it back to Hisashi,” Ayato states, taking the vial from your hands.
“No, no. You’ve already woken me up from my slumber for this.” You sighed, snatching the vial from Ayato’s hands with a deep frown on your face. “I might as well take it now.” You downed the potion before handing the empty glass tube back to Ayato.
“What’s going on with you?” Ayato asks, frowning at you as he looks at you worriedly.
“What do you mean?” You raised an eyebrow at your fiance before laying back down on your bed, pulling the blanket up to your chin.
“You’ve been acting strange ever since Yuki delivered the rice porridge to you,” Ayato replies. You grumbled at the mention of Yuki.
“It’s nothing. Plus, it’s not like it matters anyway.” You sighed, laying on your back. Ayato climbs onto your bed and hovers above you, catching you off guard. His arms cage you to your bed as you stare up at your fiance in shock.
“I’m your fiance; you should be able to tell me anything and everything, especially when something is bothering you. You can’t hide it from me, you know?” Ayato raised an eyebrow at you.
“I’m not hiding anything from you, my lord. Can you please leave now so I can go back to sleep?” You grumble, looking away from Ayato.
Ayato grabs your chin and turns your face in his direction, not breaking eye contact with you. You feel heat rush to your cheeks at his actions.
“You’re hiding something from me, and I know that you are because you never called me “my lord” before,” Ayato says, his eyebrows furrowing with worry.
“Well, I call you Lord Ayato.” You commented, crossing your arms over your chest. You attempt to move your face out of Ayato’s grasp, only for him to tighten his grip on your chin lightly.
“You even refuse to eat all of your porridge. You only take a few bites before saying that you’re finished eating for the day.” Ayato frowns.
“Can we talk about this tomorrow instead? I’m really tired.” You sighed dramatically, closing your eyes.
“[Y/N], I refuse to let you sleep until you tell me what’s been bothering you,” Ayato says, straddling your hips before sitting on you. You squeaked and looked at Ayato with wide eyes. The Kamisato heir crosses his arms over his chest with a tiny pout on his face. This was the first time you’ve seen the distinguished Kamisato heir act this way. A little…. Childish, but adorable nonetheless. You couldn’t help but melt at the adorable sight in front of you; the Kamisato heir was almost giving you puppy dog eyes. As if he was begging for you to tell him what’s been on your mind for the last few weeks. Oh, wait, that is literally what he is currently doing.
“Oh, you want to know what’s been bothering me for the last few weeks?” You ask, giving your fiance a skeptical look.
“Yes, that is what I want. I want to know what’s been bothering my fiancee.” Ayato affirms, nodding his head.
You pulled your leg out from underneath Ayato, wrapping your legs around his waist before throwing Ayato off of you and pinning him down on your bed. You pinned his wrists above his head as you stared down at the Yashiro commissioner while straddling his waist. Your eyebrows narrowed while you glared down at the man that is your fiance.
“What is your relationship with Yuki?” You demanded; Ayato looked up at you with wide eyes, shocked at your sudden burst of strength and energy. The silence between you two was deafening; the only thing you could hear was your and Ayato’s breaths. A light blush starts to appear on Ayato’s cheeks; for some reason, Ayato finds this side of you very attractive. Almost…. Arousing in a way.
“Ah, why are you red?” You blinked at Ayato.
“It’s a little bit hot in your bedroom. It’s a little stuffy in here.” Ayato says, looking away with a bright red face.
“It’s not hot in here; it’s quite cool.” You reply, blinking down at your flustered fiance. You quickly shook your head, “Answer the question!” You demanded, glaring down at him.
“Ah, yes. The question…” Ayato trails off with a sheepish smile on his face. “What would that question be again?” Ayato clears his throat awkwardly.
“Oh, archons.” You sighed, your head dopping at Ayato’s question. How can someone like Ayato be so distinguished, yet so…. Scatterbrained at times like this? What is causing a man like Ayato to become so flustered and scatterbrained?
“What is your relationship with Yuki!” You huffed.
“There’s not really a relationship between us. Aside from Yuki being the servant of the Kamisato estate, we have no prior relationship.” Ayato replies.
“What do you think of her?” You glared down at Ayato, still refusing to let the man go until you got every bit of information out of him.
“She’s a decent servant; what else do you want me to say?” Ayato cocks an eyebrow at you.
“Do you think she’s cute?”
“What!? Of course not!”
“Do you sometimes wish that she’s your fiancee instead of me?” You ask.
“No! Why would I want to be with someone I’m not even fond of!?” Ayato exclaims, looking at you incredulously.
“Have you ever thought about her carrying the future heir of the Kamisato Clan instead of me!?” Now, that question caught Ayato off guard. Future heir of the Kamisato Clan!? You and Ayato have never brought up the topic of children yet. Because Ayato was busy with so many things, you and Ayato not only didn’t talk about future children. You were afraid that Ayato wouldn’t have the time to spend time with your little family if both you and Ayato were to have children in the future.
“Oh? Were you thinking about growing our family?” Ayato teases; he takes his hands out from your grasp, reaching up to pinch your cheeks with a teasing smile on his face. You deadpanned at Ayato’s question before starting to get off of him. Ayato’s hands quickly grasp onto your hips, almost slamming you back down on his hips. Your eyes widen before letting out a yelp when your groin meets his, sending shocks throughout your body.
“You didn’t answer my question.” Ayato states, his voice sounded strained, his cheeks bright red.
“I don’t need to answer your question now; I am going to go to sleep now.” You grumbled, crossing your arms across your chest with a huff. Before you knew it, your world turned upside down before you found yourself pinned underneath Ayato’s body.
“Oh, well, if you have any issues with going to sleep, I can always help tire you out.” He smirks down at you. You glared at Ayato, face deep red. Ayato felt satisfied with the reaction that he got out of you. “After all, we do need a future heir of the Kamisato Clan,” Ayato says nonchalantly, leaning his face close to yours. You grumbled before pushing his face away from yours.
“We’ll do it next time when I’m not feeling like I’m about to meet the Shogun herself.” You grumbled, feeling Ayato grab you by your wrist before leaning down to bury his face into the crook of your neck. “You’re quite affectionate.” You shivered, feeling his lips graze your neck before pressing soft, gentle kisses on the side of your neck.
“Is it bad for a man to show affection towards his soon-to-be wife?” Ayato asks, continuing to press kisses on your neck, making goosebumps form rise on your arms. Ayato smiles against your neck when he feels you shudder against him.
“It’s not.” You breathed, swallowing the lump in your throat.
“I’m sensing a “but” in the sentence,” He pulls away from you, raising an eyebrow at you.
“What do you mean?” You look up at him in confusion.
“You seem hesitant,” Ayato says, sitting down on your bed.
“I’m not! It’s just that… you’ve never shown me any affection before I got poisoned.” You bit your bottom lip nervously.
“Hm. I see.” Ayato mutters, crossing his arms over his chest. “Very well then, I should leave you be and let you go back to sleep.” Ayato got up from your bed before walking towards the door.
“Ayato.” You said softly, attempting to grab his wrist, only for him to pull away from you.
“Goodnight, [Y/N].” He says, closing the door behind him. Your heart plummeted in your chest; hot tears started to blur your vision as your bottom lip quivered. Great. You fucked things up between you and Ayato. Ayato wouldn’t have stormed out with a broken heart if you hadn't said anything.
Since that day, you haven’t seen much of Ayato. He had resumed his duties as the head of the Kamisato Clan, barely sparing you a glance. Ayaka and Thoma could feel the tension between you and Ayato if you were to be in the same room as one another. You didn’t say anything to Ayato, nor did he say anything to you. He didn’t even look at you once, merely brushing off your presence as if you weren’t in the same room as him.
“Did something happen between you and my brother?” Ayaka asks softly, handing you a cup of steaming hot tea.
“Sort of.” You sighed, blowing on the tea before taking a sip of it. Despite the fact that you almost healed completely from being poisoned, Ayato didn’t keep his promise of accompanying you to the Komore Teahouse. Ayaka has offered to accompany you there, along with Thoma.
“What happened? The two of you were quite close with one another.” Thoma says, sitting across from you and Ayaka. You placed the teacup down before covering your face with both of your hands, your elbows resting on the wooden table before letting out a slow exhale of breath. You shook your head, not knowing what to say. Would Thoma and Ayaka get upset if you were to tell them what happened to both you and Ayato the night he gave you the concoction to drink to reverse the poison? It wasn’t like you were lying! Before you were poisoned, you and Ayato hardly had any affection towards one another.
It felt more like a duty to be with one another rather than a genuine relationship between two people who are in love with one another. Granted, you do have feelings for Ayato, but you weren’t so sure about his feelings towards you. But now you think he hates you. Considering he is doing everything to avoid being around you or being in the same room as you. It hurts. It hurts to see someone that you care so much about and love trying everything in their power to avoid your presence at all costs.
You whispered, “I only mentioned that he had never shown me any affections before I was poisoned. Then he got upset and left without saying another word.”
“Maybe he feels guilty instead of upset with you,” Ayaka says, gently rubbing your shoulders.
“Yeah! Maybe you should go try to talk to Ayato about it. Communication in relationships is important.” Thoma says, giving you a sympathetic smile.
You shook your head, “I don’t know. I think it’s best that I give him some space.”
“Please go talk to Ayato, don’t push it off to the side! It’ll only hurt the both of you more.” Ayaka pleads.
“I’ll talk to him tonight; I don’t want to disturb him.” You said softly.
Night came faster than you hoped it would. You found yourself approaching Ayato’s office in the dark corridors of the Kamisato estate. You feel your heart thudding against your chest as you come closer and closer to his office. You feel your mouth become dry as you struggle to remain calm and collected. Before you could raise your hand to knock on the door of Ayato’s office, you hear soft chatter coming from the inside. You furrow your eyebrows in confusion before leaning close to the door.
“Lord Ayato.” A faint female voice comes from the inside. Immediately, your heart starts to race against your chest.
“Yes, Yuki?” His voice was soft. Your heart immediately falls into the pits of your stomach when you hear him say her name. What was Yuki doing inside of Ayato’s office this late at night!? You hear her soft gasps, making your eyes widen. Tears immediately blur your vision, and your bottom lips quivered violently; you turn around before storming out of the Kamisato estate while ignoring the voice of the Kamistato estate guards calling after you.
The more steps you take, the more you feel your heart breaking into pieces.
Maybe your speculation and suspicion of Yuki were correct. Perhaps Yuki and Ayato did have something go on with one another before Ayato’s engagement with you. But Ayato lied to you; he lied that he and Yuki have no prior relationship with one another and that he wasn’t attracted to her. If Ayato wanted to be with Yuki so badly, then why didn’t he break off the engagement before having an affair with another woman? How could Ayato lie to you and go behind your back to have an affair with another woman? The woman that hated you for no other reason aside from being engaged to the heir himself.
The image of Ayato and Yuki’s naked bodies tangled up in sheets with one another, chests rising and falling with heavy breaths, bodies covered in sweat and love bites. Ayato has his arms wrapped around Yuki’s waist, pulling her body close to his as she snuggles up against him, sighing with contentment. The smell of sex lingered in Ayato’s bedroom. Maybe that was the reason why you and Ayato never slept in the same room. It was because Yuki was sneaking into his bedroom late at night to sleep with your fiance. You shook the image out of your head as you stormed off into the Chinju forest, not looking back to see whether someone was following you or not.
“I-I’m so sorry for spilling the tea!” Yuki says, bowing to Ayato.
“It’s fine; just clean up the mess.” Ayato sighs, keeping his eyes on the documents that were laid out in front of him. “I’ll be heading off to bed once I finish this paperwork for the Hiiragi Clan.” He mutters, continuing to scribble down on the paper. Yuki nods her head rapidly before cleaning up the mess that she has caused. While cleaning up the mess of spilled tea, Yuki couldn’t help but feel triumphant after hearing rapid footsteps storm away from the office door. She knew that you were standing outside of Ayato’s office door; she just needed to push a little more to make the chord in your heart snap.
“I have finished cleaning up the mess, my lord. I will be leaving now.” Yuki says, bowing to the head of the Kamisato Clan before walking out of the room. Yuki quietly places down the wooden tray before walking out of the Kamisato estate.
“Where are you going?” The Kamisato estate guard asks, looking at Yuki skeptically.
“Oh, nothing! Just going for a night walk, I couldn’t sleep.” Yuki says, twirling her hair with her index finger. “I believe that going for a walk will soothe my nerves and help me fall asleep faster after.” She says, giving the guard a sweet smile before walking towards the Chinju forest.
You didn’t quite make it far when you stormed off into the Chinju forest outside of the Kamisato estate. The number of tears that you’ve shed was unimaginable, and you were sure that your eyes were swollen and puffy. You were exhausted and heartbroken. The thought of the man you love cheating on you with the woman that hates your guts broke you. It hurts so much. You feel like a piece of you has died. You leaned against a nearby tree, letting the tears continue to fall. You hear a twig snap from behind you, causing your head to shoot up and look in the direction where the sound came from.
“[Y/N]? What’s the matter? Why are you crying out here all alone in the Chinju forest?” Yuki asks, giving you a mocking pout as she approaches you.
“Why are you here? Weren’t you busy entertaining my fiance?” You spat, glaring at the Inazuman woman as she stopped a foot away from you.
“Oh, sweet, sweet, [Y/N].” Yuki coos. She walks closer to you, causing you to back up against a tree. “You walked into the serpent’s nest.” She giggles, grabbing you by your hair and yanks your head back. You grit your teeth in pain, refusing to let Yuki get even more satisfaction from causing you so much pain.
“What do you mean that I walked into the serpent's nest?!” You hissed, glaring at Yuki. She gives you a fake smile, tilting her head to the side.
“There’s no bad blood between us, but there is bad blood between you and the Takahashi Clan.” Yuki smiles.
“What do you mea—” You were cut off by searing hot pain piercing your chest. You let out a choked gasp, gripping onto Yuki’s wrist with your nails digging into her thin wrist. You looked down, only to see a dagger sticking out from your chest. Yuki pulled the blade out from your chest; blood instantly began to pour out of your chest.
“Why?” You choked, placing both of your hands over the gaping wound, failing to stop the bleeding. Your clothes and your hands were soaked in crimson blood.
“The poisoned tea didn’t kill you right away, unfortunately. So, I have to do it the much quicker way.” Yuki says nonchalantly, twirling the bloodied dagger in her hands. “The dagger is laced with poison that is only found in Liyue. If your dear fiance wants to save you, he will have to trek up the steepest mountains in Liyue to save your life. Or you can just die from blood loss; it’s a win-win either way.” She giggles; her hand is covered in your blood. It looked almost black under the moonlight. Your heart was drumming against your chest; you could hear your blood pulsing in your ears.
“Oh, I guess there is bad blood between us now.” She chuckles. You swallowed the fear before you pushed passed Yuki and ran back to the Kamisato estate.
It was Yuki all along. Yuki was the perpetrator. She was the one that laced your tea with poison to kill you! What did Yuki mean by there being bad blood between you and the Takahashi Clan? The last time you checked, there was bad blood between the Kamisato Clan and the Takahashi Clan, not you and the entire Takahashi Clan.
As you approached the Kamisato estate, your vision began to blur due to the amount of blood you’ve lost. Your heart was thumping in your ears, blood continued to spill from the gaping hole in your chest, and your breathing was rapid as you ran and ran towards the estate. You hear alarming shouts and cries from the Kamisato estate guards, footsteps approaching you at a fast pace.
You ignore the guards before stumbling into the estate, crashing against the wall before falling to the ground. You tried to stand up, but you felt so weak. You didn’t know whether it was the loss of blood that was causing you to feel this way, or if it was the poison that was causing you to feel disembodied. You weakly got off the floor; you felt like your body was in the ocean. Your legs were swaying beneath you.
“What’s going on!?” Doors flew open as rapid footsteps were approaching where you were. You didn’t even know what was going on anymore. Your ears were ringing, your vision was blurry (at this point, you couldn’t tell if it was from the loss of blood or if it was your tears), and blood continued to soak your entire being. The smell of copper was making you feel nauseous and dizzy.
“[Y/N]?” A soft voice called out your name, gasping in horror at the state of your condition. From the sound of her gasp, it must’ve been unpleasant. You were too afraid to look down at your body; even if you were to do so, you wouldn’t see much because of how blurry your visions were.
“Archons is that [Y/N]!?” Someone shouted in horror; you couldn’t pinpoint who the voice belonged to. But the person sounded horrified. If you could see yourself right now, you’d most likely be just as horrified.
“[Y/N]!” The other voice lets out an agonizing scream.
You looked up at the voice that screamed out your name. You made eye contact with the Kamisato heir, your fiance. Or, at least you think you did. It was really hard for you to see what was going on. Tears continue to roll down your cheeks as he runs up to you, pulling you into his arms. You cried out in pain when your body collided against his, crying and whimpering from the excruciating pain. Your ears were ringing; it was almost deafening. You couldn’t hear what Ayato was saying; you assumed that he was shouting orders to Thoma and the other servants to get a doctor of some sort. You didn’t think any doctor could get to you on time, especially at this time. Maybe this was your time to go after all.
You feel someone pat your cheeks, grabbing your attention. You looked up at Ayato; his face was out of focus. No matter how hard you try to focus, his face seemed to get blurrier and blurrier. You could barely make out the tears that were rolling down his cheeks, landing on your face. You wanted to reach out to Ayato, wipe his tears away and tell him that everything would be okay. But quite frankly, you didn’t even know if you were going to be okay. You were losing so much blood; your vision was getting very blurry, and you felt so weak and tired. You didn’t have the energy to do anything, especially holding onto consciousness. You were slipping away from consciousness, and you were unsure if you’ll actually wake up from your slumber.
“Who did this to you!?” Ayato whispers, his bottom lips shaking.
“Yuki, Takahashi Clan, bad blood.” You croaked, tasting blood in your mouth. Ayato grabs the cloth from Thoma’s hands, pressing it down on your wound. You cry out in pain at the pressure, biting down on your lips to hold in your screams. The more you bite down on your lips, the more blood you begin to taste. Your hands grip Ayato’s wrist, letting out a strained choke and cry.
“You’ll be okay; you’ll be okay. You’re safe.” Ayato whispers, Ayato’s tears continue to drip onto your face.
“I’m so tired.” You muttered. “I really want to sleep.” You blinked slowly, feeling your eyelids grow heavy. You leaned your head against Ayato’s arm, a small yawn coming from you. You winced in pain when another wave of sharp pain hit you in the chest, causing you to tighten your grip around Ayato’s wrists.
“No! Don’t close your eyes!” Ayato exclaims, startling you. He shook his head rapidly, pulling you close to him. “Please keep your eyes open and don’t go to sleep.” Ayato pleads.
“But I’m so tired, my chest is killing me, and my heart hurts.” You whispered, and a stray tear made its way down your cheek.
“What do you mean your heart hurts?!” Ayato asks frantically. Did the blade strike you in the heart when Yuki stabbed you in the chest? If it did, you wouldn’t have been alive right now. You shook your head weakly.
“My heart hurts because I know that you and Yuki are having an affair.” You whispered, giving him a weak, bittersweet smile. But that bittersweet smile soon wavered as your lips quivered, as another wave of tears began to pour from your eyes.
“Affair? What do you mean? I’m not having an affair with Yuki. There’s nothing going on between us. There never was and never will be.” Ayato says, looking down at you in confusion.
“Don’t lie to me before I take my last breath.” You frowned at him, too weak to furrow your eyebrows at him to show that you were angry at him. “I heard everything between you and Yuki in your office.” You sniffled, letting out a weak cough.
“Stop saying this nonsense, [Y/N].” Ayato frowns, wiping his tears away. “What happened in the office was Yuki spilling tea on the ground in my office. Nothing is going on between Yuki and me at all.” Ayato sighs. Even on your deathbed, you still manage to get on his nerves.
“Hmm.” You hummed. “Good, because seeing the man I love with another woman breaks my heart.” You whispered.
“You love me?” Ayato whispers, his eyes widening in surprise.
You nod your head almost robotically, “Of course I love you. I love you so much that it hurts.” You reached up to Ayato’s face and wiped a stray tear from his cheeks. “I don’t think I can ever love another man as much as I love you.” A weak smile appears on your face. “You’re the only one I love.” Your vision soon turned dark, and your body grew limp in Ayato’s arms. Before your hand could slip away from his face, Ayato quickly grabbed your hands and shook his head.
“No, no. Please no.” Ayato pleads frantically. Ayato feels around your wrist to feel your pulse. Ayato felt relieved when he could feel a faint pulse from your wrist, but it was even weaker than it was when you had fallen ill because of the tea that had been poisoned by Yuki. Ayato didn’t know what else to do; this was the first time he had ever felt so helpless and powerless. How was he going to save you this time? Ayato did not want the medic to take you out of his grasp, but Thoma and Ayaka had to beg for Ayato to let you receive medical attention before it was too late. But it was already too late, right? You lost your consciousness; your plus was very weak, and you lost so much blood. If the poison didn’t kill you, then you would’ve died from blood loss. Everything Ayato was a blur; the screaming and loud chatter were nothing but background noise for Ayato. Ayato stood amongst the chaos, covered in your blood. Ayato made a promise to you that he would protect you, but alas, he has failed to do so.
The door of the Kamisato estate slams open, bringing Ayato out of his thoughts. Ayato looks over to the door, only to see Hisashi dragging Yuki by her arm. Yuki’s wrists were bound together, a scowl was evident on her face, and her hands were covered in your blood. Hisashi held up the incriminating evidence that was once held by Yuki, the dagger that is covered in your blood.
“Took some time for me to hunt down the servant you told me about,” Hisashi says, tightening his grip on Yuki’s wrists, causing her to hiss in pain. “She was rather prideful when I confronted her, boasting about killing the fiancee of the head of the Kamisato Clan.” Hisashi’s face contorted with disgust.
“She’s not dead,” Thoma says, glaring over at Yuki.
“Yet!” Yuki giggles. “The poison should kill her very soon. Tick tock, Mister Kamisato.” Yuki sang, looking over at Ayato with a smug grin.
“What did [Y/N] ever do to you? How could you hurt an innocent woman?” Ayaka demands, swallowing the lump in her throat.
“Oh, it wasn’t me that wanted to have her assassinated. I’m doing the job for someone else that wants her dead.” Yuki rolls her eyes.
“So you’re an undercover assassin, working for someone that wants my fiancee dead,” Ayato states, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Indeed I am! I’ve been a spy since the very beginning,” Yuki says. “It’s strange how the Takahashi Clan wanted your fiancee to be dead. They seemed quite desperate.” Yuki furrows her eyebrows, feigning innocence, giving everyone a mocking pout.
“Why do they want [Y/N] dead?” Ayato demands, glaring at the black-haired assassin.
“Oooh, that, I do not know the answers to. Perhaps you should ask them yourself!” Yuki says, sighing dramatically.
“Take her away,” Ayato says to Hisashi. Hisashi nods his head before escorting Yuki out of the Kamisato estate while she struggles against his iron grasp.
Thoma and Ayaka walk up to Ayato, placing their hand on each of his shoulders. Ayato feels his shoulders slump, his heart feels heavy, and he feels empty. The final moment that Ayato spent with you ended up in a fight. You tried to get him to stay, but he left without a second thought. He didn’t see the tears you shed, or the longing looks you would shoot in his direction when he wasn’t looking.
He avoided you all because you said that he had never given you any sort of affection right until you were poisoned. Were you wrong? No, no, you weren’t. But did the words you say hurt? It did. It honestly did hurt him. It hurts him because it took him so long to realize that he loves you just as much as you love him. Heck, maybe you love him way more than he loves you! Why did you have to confess your love for him before you lost your consciousness? Ayato would’ve felt elated to hear that you love him, but not while you’re bleeding out in his arms, on the brink of death. The look of fear in your eyes whenever you stumbled into the Kamisato estate, covered in your own blood, chest rapidly rising and falling with each breath you take. Ayato couldn’t tell if it was from fear or from running to the estate.
It was hard for Ayato to see you like this, fearful and heartbroken. Afraid that you’re dying in the arms of the man that you love, terrified of the woman that was after your head, scared and heartbroken of the fact that he could’ve had an affair with another woman behind your back. The woman that you had voiced your concern over the night you and Ayato had stopped talking. Yuki, the same woman that spilled your blood onto the Kamisato estate. The same woman who proudly paraded in your blood right in front of his eyes shamelessly. But Ayato had brushed your concerns to the side, thus resulting in you being fatally injured by the same woman you had voiced your concerns over. Guilt gnawed at Ayato; he could’ve prevented it from happening, but he didn’t do it.
“Great. First, it was the assassins that were going after my head, but now they’re going after my unsuspecting fiancee.” Ayato sighs, looking down at the ground.
The next few days dragged on; Ayato sent out a cease and desist order to the Takahashi Clan while waiting for you to become conscious again. Ayato was peeved at the fact that the Takahashi Clan had vehemently denied the claims whenever he sent out a letter to them, questioning them on whether they had poisoned you or not, only to order Yuki to stab you in the chest with a poisoned dagger weeks later. The night Yuki had stabbed you, Hisashi informed Ayato that the dagger Yuki had stabbed you with was laced with poison. The poison was not only from Liyue, but any skilled alchemist (or anyone with basic knowledge in alchemy) can easily make the antidote for the toxin.
“Oh, thank the mighty shogun.” Ayato sighs in relief when Hisashi presents the vial of antidote to him in his office. “Please, have one of the nurses give it to [Y/N],” Ayato says, only to receive a quizzical look from Hisashi.
“You’re not going to give the antidote to your fiancee?” Hisashi questions.
Ayato lets out a soft hum before answering, “I don’t think I can bear to see [Y/N] in such a state.” A sad smile appears on Ayato’s face before handing it back to Hisashi. “[Y/N] has voiced her suspicions over Yuki, but I brushed it off. Look where we are now.” He runs his gloved hand through his hair.
“I’m sure that [Y/N] will want to see you, Lord Ayato. After all, she is your fiancee, and she loves you very much.” Hisashi says; a smile ghosts over Hisashi’s face. Hisashi’s reply quelled Ayato’s concerns as he hesitantly took the vial from Hisashi’s hands.
“I thought they’d inject [Y/N] with this antidote rather than having her ingest it like how she had to ingest the previous antidote.” Ayato mused, holding up the glass vial.
“The famous alchemist from Inazuma said that it’s best to be ingested. Although there are no preferences, I believe that it’ll be best to have your fiancee drink it.” Hisashi crossed his arms over his chest.
Ayato hums to himself before nodding his head. Ayato gets up from his seat before leaving his office, walking to where your bedroom was located. Since you were released from the infirmary, Ayato ordered for the medical professionals to have you reside in your bedroom a few days after you got out of your surgery. One of the complicated parts of your surgery was blood transfusion due to the amount of blood that you have lost. One of the surgeons informed Ayato that you were very lucky to be alive because the blade that Yuki had stabbed you with had missed your heart by a few millimeters. When the surgeons told Ayato that, Ayato felt his heart plummet in his chest. Ayato almost lost you again.
Ayato stopped in front of your bedroom door before knocking softly. The door slides open, revealing his sister. Ayaka gives Ayato a small smile before gesturing for him to enter. Ayato walks into your bedroom, sliding the door closed behind him. You were sitting up on your bed, torso bandaged in many layers. You were rubbing your eyes tiredly, letting out a soft yawn.
“How are you feeling?” Ayato asks softly, sitting at the edge of your bed.
“My chest hurts, but I can’t really do much about it.” You sighed weakly, leaning up against your bed before wincing in pain. “It even hurts to take a deep breath.” You chuckled bitterly, shaking your head.
“Here is the antidote for the poison. It’s best for you to take it now to stop the poison from causing any further destruction.” Ayato says, handing the glass vial over to you. You grabbed the glass tube from Ayato’s hands, unscrewing the cap off before drinking all of the antidotes that were in the bottle.
“Do you, by any chance, know why the Takahashi Clan are after you?” Ayato asks, earning a nudge from Ayaka.
You shook your head, “I don’t know the reasons as to why they’re after my head.” You screw the cap back onto the bottle before handing it to Ayato. “Before Yuki stabbed me, she said that there’s no bad blood between her and me, but there is bad blood between the Takahashi Clan and me.” You added, gently touching the area where Yuki had stabbed you.
“You have never had any ties or connection with the Takahashi Clan. Nor did your clan have any feud with them, correct?” Ayato asks softly; you shake your head in response.
“The only clan that my clan has connections with would be the Kamisato Clan and the Sangonomiya Clan.” You said, your gaze falling onto your blanket.
“I’ll give you two some privacy,” Ayaka says, giving both you and Ayato a gentle smile before walking out of your bedroom, sliding the door closed behind her.
Ayato strokes his chin with his right hand, deep in thought. You couldn’t help but admire his gorgeous pale blue hair and his purple eyes. The little mole at the bottom of his mouth; you’re tempted to press a light kiss over his mole, but you held yourself back.
“Could the Takahashi Clan say that because you’re a Kamisato?” Ayato murmurs; you look at Ayato in confusion. “After all, the Kamisato Clan and the Takahashi Clan have bad blood.” He says, looking over at you curiously.
“While I am engaged to you, I don’t believe that I’m a Kamisato just yet.” You said, tapping on your chin with your index finger. “Although, that could be a good explanation considering my clan has never spoken to the Takahashi Clan before.” You sighed.
“I still don’t understand why they’re going after you. You didn’t do anything to the Takahashi Clan. The first time you’ve ever come into contact with the members of the Takahashi Clan was when we had tea with Takahashi Akihiko and Takahashi Yui.” Ayato muttered, his eyebrows furrowing. “Another thing that I find strange would be the fact that the Takahashi Clan have denied the accusation of being the sole reason for you falling ill, but Yuki has come clear and revealed some bits of information on who was the perpetrator.” Ayato strokes his chin with a soft hum. His eyebrows furrowing as he recalls the letter from the Takahashi Clan, accusing him of villainizing the Takahashi Clan when they were trying to make amends between the Takahashi and Kamisato Clan. Why did is the Takahashi Clan denying the claims so much when Yuki, the assassin that they had hired, exposed the clan itself for their evildoings? As much as Ayato had thought about arranging another meeting with the Takahashi Clan members, Ayato was worried that you could get hurt again if the Takahashi were to be invited to the meeting that Ayato had set up.
“Yeah, it’s strange.” You nod your head. Your shoulders droop as you let out a long exhale, “Since Yuki failed to kill me twice, that means that the Takahashi Clan will continue to find a way to have me assassinated.” You muttered, gnawing on your lower lip. At first, both you and Ayato thought that the assassin was after Ayato, but instead, the hitman was after you instead. You have never interacted with any other clan aside from the Kamisato Clan and the Sangonomiya Clan. Your parents have never mentioned the Takahashi Clan or any clans that your family could have bad blood. It was strange for the Takahashi Clan to go after you despite only interacting with you only once.
“I won’t let that happen,” Ayato states, reaching over and gently grabbing your hand, lightly squeezing it.
“Ayato,” You said softly as he moved closer to sit in front of you. Both your and Ayato’s knees were touching. “What did I do to deserve this?” You look up at your fiance sadly, your fingers interlocking together.
“You didn’t do anything. I will find a way to stop all of this, and if they don’t, there will be severe consequences.” Ayato states, reaching up to your face before caressing your face with his left hand.
Silence falls between you and Ayato; the two of you continue to stare at one another, not saying a word. You couldn’t help but admire the beauty that is Kamisato Ayato. Everything about him is perfect, and sometimes you wonder how he even became your fiance other than an arranged marriage. As the heir of the Kamisato Clan, he can reject marriage offers, but you were surprised to hear that Ayato had agreed to be married to you.
“What’s on your mind?” He whispers.
“You’re so pretty.” You breathed, looking at Ayato in awe.
Ayato laughs softly, brushing his thumb over your lips. “Mmm…. I’m not as pretty as you, though,” Ayato replies, giving you a small smile.
You scoffed softly, “Oh, please. You’re the most breathtaking human being ever.” Ayato snorts and lightly pinches your cheeks, causing you to whine softly.
“And you’re the cutest.” He smiles, leaning down to press a kiss on your forehead. “I love you, [Y/N]. I love you so much.” He presses his forehead against yours, his eyes closing. You closed your eyes and hummed softly.
“I love you more.” You murmured. Cracking your eyes open as he slowly pulls away from you, his left hand still caressing your cheek while his right hand is holding your hand. The silence between the two of you was driving you crazy. The last time the two of you shared physical affection with one another was when you and Ayato almost bedded one another. You feel your cheeks heat up at the mere thought of you and Ayato getting physically intimate.
“Let’s have a baby,” Ayato says, lightly squeezing your cheeks with a smile on his face.
“EH!? A baby!?” You squeaked, looking at Ayato with wide eyes. “Ayato, I’m still injured.” You sighed dramatically, shaking your head with a tiny smile on your face.
“Then let’s have a baby after you’re completely healed.” He says, shrugging his shoulders.
“Do we have time to be parents? Well, do you have time to be a father?” You ask, tilting your head to the side.
“I can make time for my children. I can’t put work before my family.” Ayato says, shrugging his shoulders.
“You didn’t even kiss me once, and you already want us to have babies? Tsk, Mister Kamisato! Where are your manners?” You teased, lightly poking his abdomen. Ayato smiles and laughs softly. He gently pulls you into his arms before wrapping his arms around your waist.
“May I kiss you, my dearest fiancee?” Ayato asks softly, his gaze falling onto your lips.
“You may, Mister Kamisato.” You smile.
“Tsk, babe, stop calling me Mister Kamisato! Give me a cute nickname! We are engaged, after all.” He whines softly. It was very uncharacteristic of him to do so, and it caught you off guard. You couldn’t help but look at him with wide eyes before breaking into a giggling fit.
“Alright, alright, you big baby.” You sighed in defeat.
“I-” He looks at you in shock. You snorted and shook your head. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders slowly and pressed a kiss on the tip of his nose.
“Hehe, sorry, honey. I had to do it.” You snorted, lightly pinching his cheeks with a cheeky smile on your face.
“You’re lucky you’re cute and that I love you.” He sighed dramatically. You smile at him innocently. Ayato grabs you by your chin before leaning in close to your face. Both your and Ayato’s eyes slowly shut before both of your lips meet halfway. The sweet and intimate moment between you and Ayato was cut short by the sound of your bedroom door sliding open, a small gasp breaking the silence. You and Ayato pull away, looking over towards the entrance of your bedroom, only to see Thoma.
“So…. I see that the two of you have made up.” Thoma gives both you and Ayato a teasing smile. You buried your red face into the crook of Ayato’s neck. Ayato didn’t say anything but gave the blond man a look. Thoma laughs nervously, “I’ll give you two some privacy!” Thoma walks towards the door before stopping abruptly, looking over his shoulder.
“I will be returning in a moment to deliver food for [Y/N] to eat. You two better be decent when I get back because I do not want to walk in on something I definitely do not want to see.” Thoma gives Ayato a teasing smile before walking out of the room, closing the door behind him.
“Now, where were we?” Ayato taps his chin; you peeked up at him from his neck. Your face was beet red, causing Ayato to chuckle softly. “You’re so cute.” He pressed a kiss on your temple. You leaned up and kissed the mole below his lips with a tiny smile.
“Not as cute as you, my love.” You hummed, snuggling up against his chest. Ayato wraps his arms around your waist; Ayato rests his cheek on top of your head. Ayato feels his heart swells with joy as he holds you close to him. This is something he can get used to, but the only issue is to make sure that no one else hurts you. Specifically, those who are a part of the Takahashi Clan and that are associated with the Takahashi Clan. Due to the persistence and stubbornness of the Takahashi Clan, Ayato knows that it won’t be easy.

kamisato ayato is absolutely despicable in your eyes, you hated him, loathed him, if only it wasn‘t for his bewitching charms.
୨୧ WORD COUNT: 1.9k
୨୧ GENRE: fluff, gn! reader, enemies to lovers, slightly suggestive towards the end, mostly crack and fluff

It was finally that one time of the year again! the irodori festival was knocking against everyone's doors and this one in particular was supposed to be the one that made you stand out and shine brightly. Lady Yae, who'd most certainly be heavily involved in the preparations of the surroundings regarding the festival, gave you permission to join in on the hustle! This time around she was more busy than usual and needed every help she could grasp on, since you were one of her favorite little workers, as she called you from time to time, you weren't that surprised when Miko proposed that idea to you. Yet still, a bright smile of joy and satisfaction lit up your eager face regardless because you have been waiting to get an important task like that for so long!
But.. unbeknownst to you, there was, lets say, a certain little problem you didn't see coming at all! kind of a small change that made its way across the preparations in a rather silent manner. While you were certain of the Yashiro commission's heavy involvement within the festival, since the younger sibling of the Kamisato clan would always be delighted to prepare celebrations around Inazuma and make it her duty to succeed in it in the most delightful way. You weren't exactly opposed to working with her, hearing great things about ayaka from time to time made you interested in how she'd handle different problems that would occur throughout facing all kinds of tasks.
However once it got addressed inside a talk with Miko, that it wasn't Lady Ayaka who'd join you, but the very person you disliked ever since meeting them for the first time, you let out a sound of disgust, loud enough to clearly show you didn't care if someone heard it or not. Kamisato 'whatever mean nickname you could come up with' Ayato.
Don't misunderstand! you weren't exactly disliking him, it was more a disagreement of his personality and ignorance he'd sometimes portray unintentionally in front of you. Not to mention the way he'd always treat you, trying to take work off your hands without asking and turn you jobless while he's doing all of the work you were supposed to do, receiving the praise you worked your butt off and laughing apathetically into your face! And the way he knows, Ayato knows how competitive you can get however he still decided to challenge you whenever the both of you would clash together.
You felt as if someone knocked the air out of your lungs once you spotted him heading towards your direction, in all his glory and ignorant bliss. Maybe it was that cheeky grin, or that perfectly tailored outfit that pissed you off the most, or maybe not. Sigh, you weren't mentally prepared to talk to him yet, really. You knew he'd say something annoying the second he would actually reach you.
Deciding against giving him the benefit of the doubt, you quickly glanced over your shoulders to find an escape route, anything, didn't matter what it was as long as you were able to hide but Yae figured you out in a second, beginning to talk to you so you weren't able to leave her side. You didn't miss the way the others moved out of his way or how the aura of command around him filled up the air.
"Oh hello, what a lovely day we're having." that familiar yet annoying pang of disappointment took its place on your expression, turning around to see Ayato stand in front of you in all of his glory, with thoma, who was standing right behind him, kindly glancing over to you. You decided against being moody today, not for the reasons you may think. Usually you'd want to take the more mature manner, but you were also certain that if you did give Ayato a snarky remark, it'll only feed his ego even more! "Oh how most delightful to meet you here, (y/n)." locking gazes with you, slightly turning his voice up mid sentence to show you his fake happiness.
"Most delightful to see you as well, commissioner." you nodded apathetically, making a mental remark to smack yourself against the head later, or Miko, since she forced you to stay by her side even after full on well knowing you wanted to dip on everyone. Ayato looked up, a surprised expression crossing his face, as if he'd told you something he wasn't supposed to. Slightly raising his eyebrows in the process. "Oh, yeah?" a slight blush appeared on your cheeks once you retorted your face to the side, eyes rolling in the back of your head and trying to ignore him as best as you could.
Ayato didn't waste any more time to talk about this years preparations and how he will personally be involved in them. As much as you wanted to say something you ultimately decided against it, since that particular celebration was more than important to you and you wouldn't even let ayato ruin that. Once everyone took their leaves you reached over to grab onto his sleeve, slowly tugging on it which made him turn around, "Was I talking too fast for you?" he questioned, a sly smile spread on his lips with his dimples shining right to the side. "We're working on that together, I don't want you to pull one of your tricks and take all the work off my hands again." "Oh, most definitely! if i might ask a question in return. Why are you so eager to work?" he crossed his arms around his body, face stoic and concentrating on your expressions only, and those eyes, almost glancing right through you, "There's no particular reason, just do as I say, this isn't just about you. If I do good here, Lady Miko will surely take me with her on different duties more often." now with your secret out in the open, you met his gaze confidently without realizing you did in fact, have a reason, "So." he moved forward and stopped once his lips were a hair's breadth away from the shell of your ear, "you do have a reason then." pausing while locking your gazes together, "Don't worry about it, I'll make sure you'll get your praise."
The man's presumptuous questioning made you suspicious of his true motives, though you only nodded slightly at him because archons, his aura of power, his command and confidence not only on his subordinates but you, the sense that- whatever he was, he was something you weren't prepared to face.
Tumblr media
Over the next couple of weeks you were working together closer than you've thought in the beginning. Much to your surprise, Ayato actually didn't claim your duties as his, as if he really wanted you to succeed this time. But there was no way for you to actually trust him, because whenever you did, it would always lead to total disappointment afterwards. The atmosphere felt stiff and formal at first, as if this was not part of your routine, which in fact, it wasn't. But it didn't actually take long for the both of you to get comfortable around each other. And once the time went on, the both of you were proud to announce that the Irodori festival was finally ready!
You decided to go for exposed radiates of light and tranquil surroundings that made it a perfect escape from the everyday hustle and bustle and properly enjoy the environment the both of you created for this festival. Currently, standing next to each other and engaging in conversation with the people of inazuma, introducing them to everything that was set up when Lady Miko suddenly came along, searching for you. "There you are, I heard all about your doings."
Your body went rigid, and confusion crossed your features with the question she retorted towards you. It wasn't that you didn't tell Miko about certain aspects of the planning revolving around the celebration, but it was the first time for her to see it in its full glory tonight. "Ayato was so kind to tell me how you were so eager. Practically taking all the work off his hands."
Irritation and rage almost blinded you, and you were about to throw yourself into the battle with the guy next to you who had the biggest grin painted on his face. You gazed up at him, overwhelmed by the compelling aura around him, without understanding why he suddenly because so nice towards you.
"I'd love to talk some more later Lady Yae, (y/n), but if you excuse me now, I have a matter to attend to." Ayato softly placed his hand on your shoulder to squeeze it, you expected his voice to cause more irritation within you after learning that he in fact was seemingly helping you out all this time so you'll impress Yae, but before actually feeling slight comfort or hope in his actions, you couldn't shake off the feeling that he was planning something else all along and just did that to bemuse you in any kind.
You had enough of it and decided to follow him, quickly running towards the direction Ayato disappeared in as you found him enter a small sideway. "hey! wait!" Ayato was clearly irritated, but he didn't say anything and motioned you to follow him. Once you actually stood in front of him with no one in sight, you decided to speak up, it was not to impress him, but because it felt like your heart would burst if you did not ask about why he was suddenly being so different, despite the slight rivalry that would surround the both of you ever since you first met each other.
"Why were you helping me? What are you planning?" as if he sensed your confusion at the early hour, a look of amusement crossed his face, visible in the shift of his eyebrows. "I told you not to worry about it. I thought you were happy." Ayato leaned forward, almost being able to feel his breath against you, arms crossed and cold blue eyes focused on your features. Your cheeks flushed again as you always did whenever he'd tease you like that, and he knew that about you, slowly resting his hands on your cheeks. "Why do you think I did this? answer me."
That wide-eyed innocent look and those full lips you retorted to reminded him of a fairytale like being. "I don't know." you gulped out heavily against your throat, "you're messing with me, like you always do." you held his gaze, struck by the aura of passionate desire around him.
"Did you never consider it? not even once?" he muttered unceasingly, his eyebrows and lips twitching in something akin to sadness, and it was impossible to tell whether you understood what was going on around you or not. You didn't say anything, because you weren't certain what to say back, not being able to understand your own feelings. The sphere of frozen moonlight gleamed, overshadowing everything in that moment and shining like a beacon to light the path to an unknown future.
Ayato suddenly pulled you close in an embrace, his hands gently pulled your head back and before you comprehended his intent, he already placed his lips on top of yours, they were warm and inviting, and you involuntarily responded to their query, but soon after not getting enough of his taste.
Under that very facade of indifference the both of you endured on each other, beat a heart primed for breaking apart, yet in that moment none of you seemed to care enough to stop from unraveling in front of each other.

Ayato x f! reader, implied Thoma x f! reader
Angst (Slight yandere if you squint)
The story about how Kamisato Ayato and his spouse keep missing each other.
You loathe your husband.
You can be certain that he detest you, too.
During the two years of your marriage, you two have never communicated with each other more than what is absolutely necessary.
That might be because you are keeping your distance from him during all of your daily routine.
You are aware that he prefers to perform the majority of his duties in the house, and entrust most social appearances to his sister. As oppose to his preference, you engage in outdoor duties as much as you can, be it helping Miss Ayaka with her work, or handling your family business.
It is only natural since the partnership between the two of you is purely merit-based.
You come from a renowned family of merchants in Inazuma. Although your family was buried in riches, it did not have a strong political background. So, they had to live under constant fear of being exploited by more authoritative clans.
On the other hand, Kamisato clan was in a difficult position at that time, and was in dire need more allies and financial support.
That was why, the engagement between you, the single daughter of the Retailers, and Kamisato Ayato, the eldest son of the Kamisato clan, was decided. You were only ten years old when your fate was determined with no consideration for your wish or happiness.
“Mother, why are you dressing me up? Today is not my birthday.”
“No, it isn’t. But today is just as important as your birthday. Because it is the day of your engagement to the young master of Kamisato clan.”
“Engagement? What is it? Why is more important than my birthday?”
“I will explain it when you grow older. For now, just know that you are the pride of our family.”
You wished you could remain oblivious like when you were young.
You did not despise him as much before. In fact, you even felt sorry for him, thinking that he was in the same situation as you, and was forced to marry someone whose face he could not even remember.
But he…
At the bridal night, he robbed you of your purity. You begged for him to at least wait a little until you were mentally prepared, but all of your pleas fell on deaf ear. And the worst part of it was that, you, as his legal wife, had no right to refuse.
Your first night was not one filled with sweet promises and whispers of love as you imagined. It, instead, was a night of your despair and his desire. And your innocence, which you wished to offer up to your beloved was so easily tainted.
Yes, your beloved… who was kind and warm, unlike the calculating nature of your husband.
You met him in Ritou, before one year to your marriage, while you went there to discuss about the future dealings between your family and the international trade association.
Ritou, unlike the Inazuma city, was away from the watchful eyes of your parents. While you were enjoying the meager of liberation, you fell head over heels for the charming foreigner who came from the City of Freedom, freedom which you could truly never attain.
The few months you spent in Ritou were the happiest of your life. You and him would always be together, be it discussing about the economy of the country or walking around the shops of Ritou. However, the proverb, ‘All good things must come to an end,’ is there for a reason.
“Hurry up! Over here!”
“______”
“Yes, I know. It’s pretty, isn’t it? We can see the port if we look at the west, and in the east, there is Mount Yougou. With the Statue of our Raiden Shogun, and the maple tree, this is a perfect place for picnic. I knew I have to show this place to you as soon as I saw it.”
“______”
“I am glad you liked it.”
“______”
“You have something you to say? Then say it, why are you being so ceremonious about.”
“______”
“You… like… me…? I…”
“______”
“What? No, I am not angry. But I am sorry. It was like I was leading you on. I should have told you this before but I-”
You were interrupted by a call to your name.
“Miss y/n, I am sorry to bother you when you are with friends. But your parents have ordered me to call you back to Inazuma city.”
“What? I have already told them in the letter that I am staying here until the Crux arrive. And it is so important that you cannot wait until I am back in my room.”
Your bodyguard was shocked by your unusual display of anger. But he continued to press on.
“Miss, your fiancé has sent the marriage offer to the house. The ceremony will be held in two months, and so your parents has demanded your urgent return.”
After that, you left Ritou.
Although you thought you would never meet him again, your reunion with your love happened earlier, much earlier than you would like to be.
And it was as unexpected as it was brutal, laced with your tears and regret.
Your wedding. That was where you met him again. He was a housekeeper of your fiancé.
You did not know he was a confident of the Kamisato clan, just like he did not realize you were the fiancé of his Lord. You two fell for each other without knowing what kind of future was waiting for you.
Although your love was within a hand’s length, you lacked the right to embrace him.
So, these days, it is painful for you to see him, more painful than seeing your insufferable husband.
Oh.... How much did you want to leave everything behind.
How much did you wish for him to just steal you away.
Ayato loves you.
However, he also know that you abhor him.
He cannot blame you though, for the fault lies only on himself.
That night, the night of your wedding, he defiled you forcefully.
He did not plan for it to happen. He realized you might have some reservation at consummation considering he was only a stranger to you.
However, he could not contain the jealousy, incinerating his heart and soul. He is sure no man would be able to if they were to see the tear stained face on his wife when she saw his servant at the wedding. Ayato, being who he is, he was able to guess the relationship between the two of you, oh so easily, which lead to the inflammation of his envy , and made a mistake he will regret forever.
“My Lord, please spare me. I beg of you.”
“I am only demanding you to perform your marital duties. Or would you prefer I call for separation in this instant.”
“No! I… I … just need a few months, no… only a few days to mentally prepare.”
“Our engagement was ten years ago. Wasn’t those ten years enough time for you?”
“I understand where you are coming from. But… my Lord, this is my first experience. Have mercy.”
“If you utter another word of denial, I will announce the Inazuma city that you are an unfaithful lady who played around with other man even though you had me as a fiancé. I am sure your parents will not be pleased to hear that, will they?”
Ever since that incident, you avoided him like one would to a street rat. Nothing he does now can make up for his actions on that night. No presents can please your mind.
However, he is not too worried. He believes there is no wound time cannot heal. Fortunately, he is a patient man. He had to wait for a decade for your body to finally become his. He can wait for a few more years for your mind to give in, too.
Y/n, she was his first love. Ten years ago, he found you who was crying alone in the Chinju Forest, on his way back from Narukami Shrine.
“Hey you, for what reason you are here?”
“Oh! Who are you? Are you the tanuki-sama?”
“No. I am-”
“Tanuki-sama, please don’t eat me.”
“What are you talking about? Why would I eat you?”
“Are you sure?🥺”
“Yes.”
“So, why are you here?”
“I am here chasing a violet butterfly. Before I knew it, it is gone and I am here in the middle of nowhere. Wahhhh… The ghosts will eat me!!!”
“Should I tell you the way out of this forest?”
“Will you?”
Your face brightened up in an instant.
“Thank you. You are so kind, aren’t you, Tanuki-sama?”
You forgot about him after a good night sleep, but without knowingly, you had stolen his heart, and changed his whole world.
