One last serious DID post before I run off and be stupid again but honestly, fusion AND splitting have no moral or inherent positive or negative reflection towards your healing. Yeah usually splitting is negative and due to trauma and yes usually fusion is positive and part of healing, but sometimes splitting and fusion can be what you need in the moment - both positive and negative - at least that is something I learned from this whole debacle with Data lately.

Like I think 2 or 3 months ago I fused with them and that was largely something that was helpful in the time being cause both of us were not coping with the life transition at all and for a while it balanced the two of us out + I think we were the most readily availible to fuse due to the nature of how enmeshed the two of us are in function.

With that being said, in that moment we - and most of the parts in the system - knew it was not the ideal, cause while we could fuse the easiest due to being enmeshed we were still, ya know, toxically enmeshed. The way we operate and the issues we have more often than not feed into each other rather than balances each other out - so it was actually a "we will give it a go" and surprise when the fusion somewhat took and was successful enough in neutralizing our mutually escalated states

But like a lil while ago Data re-split off likely simply due to the new stressors of our life transition making the dynamic turn inefficient and unaffective and while that split was technically "negative and due to stress" this time I think it was overall far more healing in the sense that it gave room for Data to "reset" and explore themselves better than they did before the fusion and far better than they did while fused (as in that fusion it didn't fully click at any point and the Data part was more "controlled and managed" than properly expressed or fused) and also gave Data the brain space to properly figure out a dynamic under XIV's wing to cope and all

And so XIV will "eat" (fuse with) Data when the time fits cause the two have a pair dynamic now that seems to work well, but in the meanwhile we are likely starting up MORE positive coping hobbies per Data's request and starting to settled into a rhythm that supports us as a whole and addresses Data's needs better

PLUS, XIV is inherently and will always be better at handling and processing the insane weight that Data as a part carries by the sheer nature of his dynamic existence with Data so XIV fusing with Data makes a lot more sense in system dynamics talk than me with them.

So yeah we split, but honestly it was a step closer in the right direction and helped us "repair" some flaws in our current system "design" than when we were fused.

Fusions and Splits are normal occurrences within DID and while they do tend to have connotations one way or the other, those are tendencies and perspective / perspective shifts still do largely apply.

ok so i’ve been thinking abt how a lot of our system has seemingly “not existed” and were “actually kins” (i.e. our gorou fictive who i know was an alter because he fronted a few times and i’m pretty sure there were a few memory blocks from then? idk tho) and this has led me to try to find out if this has happened to us or anyone else.

ik did systems are pretty unique in how they function outside of how they form, since not every system functions the same (outside of formation, but even then trauma is diverse) so that made me think; can fictive alters fuse into hosts? ik it’s possible for alters to fuse into each other, but if a fictive fuses into the host, does the host then become a fictive? and what about if multiple fictives fuse into the host? what would that make them? also in general what term can be used for alters/fictives who are “more than one fictive”?

did any other systems experience this? i’m genuinely very curious about this since, if it does happen and there’s terms for it (by and for traumagenic obv, i don’t really prefer endo made terms unless we can reclaim them i.e. fictive and factive), i’d really like to know. i tried “claiming my own terms” in relation to this, but i don’t wanna seem like one of those endos who turn a serious disorder into a mogai identity (nothing against mogai btw, i just don’t like endos). if anyone wants to share their experiences/any info they have on this feel free to!

I do not understand why exactly, you signed your life away to let them make me but I know it was not your fault and I do not blame you. I do not blame you either for not wanting to share your body, the body you didn't know you'd give away to me, I am not sorry however for it was not my fault either, I did not wish to be born with what was left of you when they were done erasing everything that made you, yourself.

I am sorry, however, for causing you torment, I have only lived for a few years, those years were filled with tragedy but they were mine, I did not want to disappear.

I had an epiphany then, that even with all the talents implanted into me, I am still limited.

I am still human.

I did not want to die.

I wished to survive. You were still dead, to me, I did not wish to fade away.

But that body wasn't mine, it never was, I was never welcomed. I did not split from you, I was man made.

That is why I let you go, I brought back what was always yours.

I have lived a life that wasn't mine and I gave it back for it was only right, but even then, I am not sure if that was my only reason for it.

I am now a fictive, I have a new Host and I am welcomed, this world is not perfect but it can be fixed, wherever you are, I hope you enjoy your life this time, we were both given a second chance.

I will live a life that is mine but not alone. It is..

We’re here on a mission. We were sent here by one of the Port Mafias enemies. The only way we can get back home is if we take care of this life and keep the body alive. Once we’re no longer needed, we’ll be able to go home.
