Title: A Virgo and a Pisces (Takes place in fourth year before the goblet of fire says Harry’s name somewhere between ch 14 and 15 of GOF lol)

‘Alright young minds, turn to chapter fourteen please’ professor Trewlawny said dreamily.

‘Today we will look upon the stars to see our inner selves!’

Ron opened his Divination textbook to chapter fourteen, which was titled “Astrology- Zodiac Characterisics”

‘Now only a few posess the gift of astrology, to be able to read the stars is not an easy task, but ancient astrologists who possessed the power of sight were able to understand the stars and the planets, and those born where the stars align into different shapes have different characteristics, is anyone here aware of their zodiac? And some characteristics that accompany it?’

‘Yes my dear,’ said Professor Trelawney.

‘I’m a Capricorn! They’re supposed to be hard-working,’

‘Ahhh yes,’ said Professor Trelawney said, ‘the sea-goat’ she continued, and she emphasized her point by curling up her hands to make what appeared to be an imitation of horns at the front of her forehead.

‘Yes they are said to be very hard working, alas every capricorn I have known has died due to a work related illness,’ she continued, making parvarti look absolutely terrified, ‘but it is a good characteristic indeed, ten points to Gryffindor house.’

‘Anyone else?’ professor Trelawney continued, and many other hands shot into the air. She picked on Draco Malfoy’s.

‘Well, my birthday is June 5th, I suppose that’s a Gemini.’ Draco said, ‘I know we’re meant to be charming and whimsical.’

‘Ahhh yes the twins, very two- faced they say the Gemini’s are, those in astrology are very careful to trust Gemini’s. They are very untrustworthy indeed. Gemini’s are by far the most manipulative, superficial and deceitful of any zodiac. This leads to their downfall of course, most Gemini’s die by murder you see. Really a pity. 10 points to Slytherin.’

Draco looked furious, Ron and Harry sniggered.

‘And you two?’ Trewlaney asked, which caused Ron and Harry to stop laughing.

‘I’m March 1st- so I reckon I’m a Pisces’ Ron said, ‘used to see those astrology things on the daily profit’

‘Ahhh yes the fish,’ Trelawney said, and she put her hands on her cheeks to imitate a fish swimming.

‘Very passionate... very laid back but can be very temperamental, they are also very intuitive and empathetic. I quite like the fish. Be weary however, this empathy leads to great downfall, the Pisces are very trusting and often betrayed by those they trust most.’

Ron raised his eyebrows at Harry jokingly.

‘And you dear?’ Trelawney said turning to Harry.

‘I’m a Leo,’ Harry said.

‘Ah no surprise, the Lion.’ Trelawney said, licking the top of her hand as if she were a cat.

‘Yes, very brave the lions are, ready to dominate any task they set out to do. But alas, very VERY egotistical, this leads to their downfall as they tend to overestimate their abilities and refuse to accept any forms of critistism. They tend to die at an early because their confidence causes them to believe that they alone can do the most dangerous of tasks, shame.’

‘She might be on to something,’ Ron whispered, Harry elbowed him.

‘Unfortunately the time is something my eye can foresee but not control, we are out of time today. Your homework will be to write an essay on your zodiac sign, I would like you to use this book as well as other astrology resources you can find in the library to write about the characteristics of your zodiac. Please include good and bad character traits, which is in chapter fifteen. I would also like you to write about related careers, friendships, romantic relationships, and of course, the way your sign will lead to your ultimate death. For your romantic relationships, you should do it based on your sign compatibility in the book. The last part of chapter seventeen states the sign you are most romantically compatible with. It should be a minimum of four pages and a maximum of six pages, and you should show a clear astrological understanding of everything, you’re all dismissed.’

The class got up and Ron and Harry walked to the Great hall for lunch, they saw Hermione with two empty seats beside her.

‘How was divination?’ Hermione asked as the two took their seats.

‘Actually not bad, Astrology is pretty interesting, and she wasn’t too far off about Harry.’ Ron jokingly said, plating some food.

Hermione rolled her eyes, ‘Astrology is a bunch of make-believe it’s not backed up by any real science Ron.’

‘Sounds like something a Virgo would say,’ Ron joked.

‘How’d you know I’m a Virgo?’ Hermione asked.

‘The inner eye? I dunno- your birthday’s September 19... that’s a Virgo is it not?’ Ron asked, putting a spoonful of food in his mouth, Hermione looked at him curiously.

‘Yes... but how did you know? Most people only know their own signs.’ Hermione stated matter of factly.

‘I know Harry’s too, it’s the same as Ginny’s. No wonder you’re both mental.’ said Ron to Harry and Harry rolled his eyes.

‘Oh so is someone in your family a Virgo then?’ Hermione asked.

‘Er-no,’ Ron said, his ears red. The truth was that the reason he knew that Hermione was a Virgo was because he liked to read the horoscopes on the daily profit sometimes, and some days he would be curious as to what Hermione’s would say.

‘Percy was a day off from being a Virgo though, he’s technically a Leo-Virgo mix. Oh god, Percy’s what you get if you mix you two together,’ Ron added pointing at them, ‘makes sense in an odd way.’

‘Hey!’ Harry said indignantly.

‘I don’t make the rules, the stars do mate,’ Ron said matter of factly before putting another spoonful of food in his mouth.

‘The stars,’ Hermione scoffed, ‘pathetic.... it’s all made up... they make general terms that can apply to everyone.’

‘I dunno,’ Harry said picking up a spoonful of food and placing it in his own mouth, ‘She was pretty accurate about Malfoy,’ Harry sniggered.

‘You can’t assume someone’s personality by the day they’re born, it’s completely illogical.’ Hermione stated, ‘Anyways I’m off to Arthimancy, a subject that is based on ACTUAL facts.’ She picked up her books and walked away.

‘Such a fun girl, always a good time with Hermione.’ Ron said before picking up another spoonful of food.

‘I can’t believe she wants us to write a four paged essay,’ Harry said, taking a swig of his juice.

‘Yeah, characteristics I understand...But relationships? Now we have to talk about a whole other zodiac too,’ said Ron.

‘Actually,’ Harry said taking out his Divination textbook, ‘I wonder who I’m compatible with....’

‘Do you even know Cho’s birthday?’ Ron asked, and Harry kicked him, Ron knew that Harry had developed a crush on the Ravenclaw seeker.

‘Let’s see.....’ Harry said flipping through the book.. ‘Oh Leo okay there....Leo’s are compatible with Leo’s?’

‘Makes sense,’ said Ron, ‘egotistical and all, hey Ginny might stand a chance after all.’

‘Let's see you then,’ Harry said, annoyed that his zodiac stereotype was so vain it had to be compatible with itself.

‘Okay Pisces lets see,’ Harry smirked at he looked read the book.

‘Well? Go on,’ Ron said, tagging a swig of his own juice.

‘Virgo,’ Harry said sniggering and Ron spit out his juice.

‘Well-’ Ron sputtered, ‘I reckon Hermione’s right, this is all made up.’

‘Ah agreeing with your soul mate, very cute Ron.’ Harry said and Ron’s ears turned red.

‘You’re taking the mickey,’ said Ron, grabbing the book from Harry. But when he looked down at the text in front of him, he saw that Harry was very much telling the truth, according to the book, a virgo was the sign he was most compatible with.

Harry was sniggering, and Ron gave him a death stare. Hermione was HIS FRIEND. And she was a down pain sometimes, he loved her very much. But as a FRIEND. She wasn't ugly by any means....Actually...she had gotten even more good looking over the summer...and more curvaceous.... which Ron had tried not to notice too much... Wait what...What was he thinking? He shouldn't have been thinking about how curvaceous Hermione had gotten!

‘Well reckon this is going to be an interesting essay at least,’ Harry said, ‘can’t believe she’s only giving us two days to do it.’

‘Yeah what’s that about? Mcgonagall is up our arses, Flitwick expects us to do all those charms and we've barely been back yet!’ said Ron annoyed.

Harry nodded his head in agreement.

That night Ron and Harry sat in the common room working on their essays. Hermione was in a chair by the fireplace, with her head buried in a piece of parchment, also writing furiously.

‘How are we supposed to make this four pages?’ Ron asked Harry, ‘the book barely says anything, it just states character traits and who you’re compatible with.’

Harry flipped through the pages in his Divination textbook, ‘you’re right, should we go to the library?’

‘Might as well, I don't want to work on this any more than I have to already.’ Ron said picking up his quill and parchment, Harry followed suit.

‘We're going to the library Hermione, want to come?’ Ron asked, Hermione looked up from her parchment and raised her eyebrows.

‘You two are going to the library?’

‘Is that not what I just asked? Unless you want to write our divination essays for us.’ Said Ron, and Hermione frowned.

‘No I do no not...to writing the essays...but alright to the library! I can finish Ancient Runes there, I like their big tables!’ Hermione said eagerly picking up her rucksack and getting off the chair.

‘Right,’ said Ron, rolling his eyes at Hermione’s now beaming face. ‘You’d have think I asked her to go on a trip,’ Ron said to Harry as she eagerly chased behind them.

The three of them made their way towards the library, Ron looked around for the Astrology section.

‘Let's see....Ancient Runes.... oh Hermione would love this..okay okay... aha Astrology!’ said Ron, and Harry and him browsed books together. Both of them found some books that were along the lines they were looking for.

Ron found two books, one called Compatibility of the Constellations and the other called, Constellations and Careers. Harry found two books as well, one called, The Fundamental Traits the Zodiacs, and the other called Astrology: The Signs and their Meanings.

Both Ron and Harry took a seat at the long table Hermione was sitting at, buried deep into her work. Ron and Harry knew better than to disrupt Hermione when she was in work mode.

Ron took out Compatibility of the Constellations and started to read. Skipping any part that didn’t show Pisces..he flipped through until he saw the mentioning of Pisces. To his luck he found exactly what he was looking for, explaining why he was compatible with certain signs as friends, Ron smiled approvingly when he saw Leo as being very compatible with Pisces as friends. He showed it to Harry who smiled back. Harry was reading The Fundamental Traits the Zodiacs and could hear him scoff a few times as he wrote on his parchment. Ron read further down, until he reached a subheading that said, The Romantic Lives of Pisces, and just like the Divination book told him, this book also implied that he was compatible with Virgos. He read further and almost hiccoughed at the sub-title. Dating and Sexual Life of Virgo and Pisces.

What the hell was Trelawney asking for here? Ron continued to read,

Pisces can let go, let it be, and just live in the moment, which is something that Virgo deeply struggles to do, as they tend to want to control everything

Well they’re not wrong, Ron thought to himself, writing this down.

Pisces can encourage Virgo to become more laid back and less strung. Most Virgos are workaholics who make little to no time for leisure and pleasure activities.

Ron looked up at Hermione, who was was writing madly and grinned down and wrote down this very true statement.

Most people of other zodiac signs do not understand the pressure Virgo goes through; however, Pisces’ sensitive nature can pick up on what their Virgo partner is feeling or thinking. Pisces possess just the right amount of compassion to know what to do to soothe the tension in their Virgo partner. Pisces can remove Virgo’s stress and worry, and encourage Virgo to relax, let go, and enjoy the present moment. Patience and trust in the greater good are what Pisces can teach Virgo.

Ron wondered if he truly did do this for Hermione.... she was definitely not the same Hermione from first year, sure she was still high strung, but compared to first year she was indeed much more patient and easy going. Could this really have been due to him? Or was it just age?

It will be essential for them to resolve any issues in the relationship as soon as any problems arise as if it is left unresolved resentment can build, and because both signs tend to favor isolation, they can completely isolate themselves from each other. They need to remember what made them fall in love with each other initially, and not focus on the negatives in the relationship. Each of them can bring fulfillment to the other’s life, but they must keep their eye on the bigger picture, and not worry about frivolities.

Ron grinned, remembering the Crookshanks and Scabbers fiasco that had happened just last year.

When a Virgo dates a Pisces, they will have an emotional depth and connection between them that only some dream to have. Virgo partners lack confidence in sexual matters, which they hide under their rational minds and cool, calm exterior. Pisces can also be shy during physical connections, and they will instantly dismiss the shyness of their partner through mutual understanding. Their sexual lives will be governed by their inherent need for a passionate relationship, which will be free from judgment and filled with love.

Ron decided he was not going to write that part down. He had looked at Hermione in a more sexual light admittedly when he had seen her developed body over the summer. He had never really thought how Hermione would be in bed, Hermione lacking confidence was something Ron never really saw, he always took her to be a rather confident girl, but this was admittedly only with school and facts. She never really mentioned her looks. And was he shy? He’d never been with a girl...however, the thought of approaching a girl did intimate him, so maybe he was shy. But passionate love? Ron laughed, he couldn't imagine making passionate love with Hermione... he was fourteen...he’d never even snogged a girl. But everything else was pretty bang on.... could it be? Him and Hermione?

He looked up to take a peak at her...she looked rather cute when she was focused...wait what was he thinking? The astrology was affecting him... This wasn't his true thoughts, or was it? Could Hermione truly be the one for him...And even if she was, was he the one for her? Why had he decided to take Divination.

Hermione was right, Divination was a bunch of nonsense.

i’ve seen people talking about how there’s a difference between leo’s born in july and leo’s born in august... roger & john skdjsbsjsj idk what the difference is but it’s there

oops!! looks like you accidentally stumbled upon one of of my dormant hyperfixations!! 🤠🤠🤠 i’m SO into astrology dude skjfhskfj like is it real? probably not. but is it fun as hell to read about and judge people based on? yes yes yes yes yes!

anyway this ended up getting super long because i have a lot of thoughts™ about it so i'm putting everything under the cut!! disclaimer: i literally just do this for fun and everything i know about astrology i learned from various websites and an astrology book i found at value village so if anything isn’t right mind your business fskjdfshkfj and ALSO please don’t read too much into this lmao it’s just for funsies 💖

so anyway YES you’re right, there 100% is a difference between john and roger’s type of leo, and it probably has to do with the fact that they fall into different decans of leo!! so essentially each sign is split up into three different “versions” of the sign depending on the positioning of the planets when they were born. the exact dates can vary slightly, but for leo the first decan (the “true leo”) is from july 23rd - august 1st (this is where roger falls), the second decan is august 2nd - august 12th, and the third decan is august 13th - august 22 (which is where john falls).

so roger, being born on july 26th, is a first decan leo. the characteristics of this placement are things like being really extroverted, loud, self-reliant, creative, wanting attention, having a sensitive ego; so very much the traditional leo. meanwhile, john is a third decan leo, which is a placement that’s known more for ambition, honesty, stubbornness, independence, and dynamism. so that could definitely be where some of their differences come from (although i’m not convinced that the qualities of the third decan leo actually fit john all that well, but i suppose none of actually really knew him so we can’t know for sure).

BUT, it’s also super important to look at the rest of john and roger’s natal charts in addition to just their sun signs, since they were born two years apart and therefore they have a lot of differences in the major planets in their charts.

so roger’s birth time is actually online for some reason, apparently he was born at 10:30 AM on july 26th 1949. so assuming that this time is accurate (even if it isn’t the only things that would change are his ascendant and possibly his moon), here is his chart:

we don’t know what time john was born, so we don’t know his ascendant and we can’t be certain of his moon, but we do know that he was born on august 19th 1951 so based on that here is his chart:

so as you can see, there are some pretty significant differences in their planets. starting with the moon, which represents things like emotion, emotional response, and self image, roger has a leo moon while john (most likely) has a pisces moon.

leo moons are typically outgoing, like to be the centre of attention, pretty popular, and tend to take on a comic sort of role because they like making people laugh. they have a really strong sense of fairness and justice, and they’re known for being dramatic and prone to sulking and causing a scene when their pride has been hurt. imo the leo moon very clearly fits roger pretty well skjfhsdkjfhs

on the other hand, john is a pisces moon, which is a placement thats know for being really intuitive, perceptive, sometimes dreamy, and compassionate because they feel things really deeply. pisces moons are also imaginative, warm, sentimental and empathetic, and known for having kind of a weird sense of humor; one of the sites i use as a reference for astrology actually described it as “a strong sense of humor that is more of the receptive kind than the type of sense of humor that would make people the ‘life of the party,’” and “it's generally pretty easy to get them giggling” (which imo is pretty spot on according to what we know about john and the stories we’ve heard about him)! pisces moons also have a tendency to get overwhelmed with life easily and then need time away from eveything to escape and recharge (fucking off to bali anyone??)

i'm not gonna really talk about ascendants because we don't know john's and the point of this is comparing his chart with roger’s, BUT i just have to say that roger is a virgo rising, and typically people get on really well and have strong connections with people who's sun sign is the same as their rising sign…… and of course, freddie is a virgo sun 🥺🥺🥺 and literally every time i remember that it just makes me so soft so i had to mention it fksjhfkjshfk

moving on to mercury, roger’s mercury is in leo and john’s is in virgo. mercury is the planet that rules things of the mind like communication, intellect, and memory. so starting with roger, leo mercurys are typically incredibly passionate, good at things like public speaking and performing, and very much draw the spotlight towards themselves, whether intentionally or unintentionally. they're confident, enthusiastic, have a flair for the dramatic, and seem to make new friends effortlessly. people with mercury in virgo on the other hand tend to be much more grounded and analytical. they’re efficient and sharp thinkers, very intelligent, practical, and they like things that challenge their minds and are drawn to people that can keep up with them. john was born with mercury in retrograde though, which can cause people to struggle with self doubt and be prone to anxiety and difficulty expressing themselves.

now on to venus. venus is the planet that rules love, romance, and what we value and take pleasure in in life. roger’s venus is in leo, while john’s is in virgo. leo venuses like roger are known for being warm, genuine, and grand in love. they’re prone to big gesture in their relationships, and they have a deep need to feel desired and wanted by their partners and can get hurt when they don’t feel like their lovers are showing them enough love. they're really loyal, but need a lot of attention from their lovers and have high expectations. on the other hand, people with venus in virgo like john are known for loving and showing love in quieter and more understated ways, unlike leo venuses who are more of the ‘shout it from the rooftops' variety. they show their love through dedication and willingness to work on a relationship, and they work really hard on doing "the little things'' to show their partner that they care, and they need to feel recognized and appreciated by their partners for doing these things. they're very devoted and sensitive in love, really genuine, and can be quite shy. john was born with venus in retrograde though, and people born during venus retrogrades tend to feel things very deeply but struggle with awkwardness and insecurity in expressing those feelings and their love. they take relationships really seriously and they love very deeply, but they can struggle with self-sabotage in their relationships because they usually have a lot of underlying insecurities and fears that they aren't good enough or loveable enough.

finally, mars is the planet that rules things like passion, anger, sex, desire, actions and energy. roger's mars is in cancer, while john’s is in leo. people with a cancer mars like roger can be prone to passive-aggressiveness and become defensive as a means of self protection when they feel threatened, but they're incredibly protective over the people they care about. also, fun fact— i read something that said mars in cancer is known as the sign most attracted to breasts, sooooo i guess roger is a tits guy confirmed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ on the other hand, people with mars in leo like john tend to be high in passion and desire, and usually have well defined goals and ambitions in their lives. they're also known as one of the most sexual positions of the zodiac, and they tend to enjoy sex more than most, but they typically have a strong need for love and romance to be an integral part of sex. they want their partners to be devoted to them, and can be prone to becoming jealous and possessive of their partner but will usually try to hide it.

there are ofc a bunch of other placements in natal charts that we could go into, but these 6 that i’ve mentioned (sun, moon, ascendant, mercury, venus, and mars) are generally considered to be the major players. there are also things like aspects and houses and everything that can be analyzed to gain a better insight into someones chart but honestly i don't really understand them so i'm not gonna go into that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

but yeah so as we can see, even though john and roger have a lot of the typical qualities of a leo in common— hard-working, enjoying luxury, proud, bright, determined, noble, loyal— there are a whole bunch of factors that make them really really different despite their similarities!! because you’re totally right anon, roger and john are both leos, and imo you can tell that they’re both leos, but there’s also a certain energy about each of them that sets them apart from one another that’s SO fun to get into and explore!!!!!!!

Neil Abraham Josten‘s Birth Chart Analysis

Neil is a never endingly entertaining character, to read about and analysis. As a self proclaimed astrologer I've taken up the task of reading some of Neil's birth charts to better understand our beautiful Junkie. This might seem like a waste of time to most people, including myself, but I have no life and I need divination intuition practice.

*Note: the information we were given about Neil’s birthday is he was born January 19, 1988 in either Alexandria, Virginia or Baltimore, Maryland. We do not know his time of birth so I can’t tell you his rising (If I had to guess: Aries?) or houses. I just go over his big 6 in this post. Nora if you see this… what time was Neil born?

Sun: Capricorn

Your sun sign is considered your core self, that’s why everyone knows their sun sign (and because it’s the easiest to calculate). Fundamentally Capricorn suns are defined by their need for structure. They are people who are very skilled and ambitious and focused on this material plain. For Neil this manifests as his fixation on Exy. When Capricorns want to be good at something they will stop at nothing to achieve this goal to the point of self destruction. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, planet of fortune, which basically means Capricorns are almost destined to go through some sort of great misfortune, normally involving money in some way. Neil's money problems are deadlier than most but it's classic with this sign. Similar to how your Moon sign represents your relationship with your mother, your sun represents your father. Fun fact about the deity Saturn or Kronos: He ate his children. Need I say more? Capricorn and daddy issues are basically synonyms. Capricorn's aren't necessarily social, mostly because their trauma leads them to avoiding people to protect themselves. They put their goals ahead of all else, including love and connection. Neil rather talks about Exy then sexuality. Some say this make’s capricorns boring but these people clearly have never met a capricorn. Capricorns might be rough around the edges, but in my experience they are great friends, even if they don’t realize it.

Moon: Aquarius

OH THE MOMMY ISSUES!!! So your moon represents your emotional self and your relationship with your mother... and Aquarius is ruled by Uranus or Ouranos in Greek myth. You thought Saturn/Kronos eating his kids was bad? URANUS SHOVED HIS CHILDREN BACK INTO HIS WIFES WOMB!!! I see this play out in how mother was highly disattached from him, leading him to respond to emotional situations in a disattached and uninteresting way. This is shown in how he grieves for Seth. Contrary to popular belief, Aquarius is an air sign, meaning they have the characteristic Air sign aversion to feeling feelings. They prefer to logic their way through situations and to use their coping mechanism to deal. Yes they have emotions but they don’t like to share them (‘iM FiNe”). In contrast with Neil's Capricorn sun Aquarius moon needs to be able to communicate. Not about feelings but about what they do like talking about what they enjoy. This leads to a personality that craves human connection but doesn't know how to ask for it. Aquarius moon people also don't really give a shit about labels. It's all semantics for them. Now here is my unpopular opinion: Aquarius placements are sarcastic and temperamental. I know I said they don’t really like to share their emotions, but I feel Anger in aquarius is a natural consequence of not sharing their emotions. TL;DR Aqaurius placements we know you use sarcasm to mask your feelings. Talk about it.

Mercury: Aquarius

So your Mercury is how you communicate with the world and your logical mind. again Aquarius is a logical air sign. These people are natural intelligence. Yes this does explain why Neil is good at math. He doesn't necessarily have to study to understand things as much as he can just get things from intuition. This explains his playstyle being largely intuitive and hard to explain how he knows things. Mercury in Aquarius people are active protagonists in their lives and do things to change the things in their lives (see him bringing together the team) as the humanitarians of the zodiac it comes naturally. Also going back to his capricorn sun mixed with his Aquarius in mercury means he physically cannot not talk about Exy and opening up about feeling’s is actually painful.

Venus: Pisces

BOTTOM!!! No but seriously, Your Venus is how you relate to people, the things you value, and your romantic endeavors. Pisces is something else really. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac giving them a spiritual, almost not their quality. They don't like large groups typically prefer smaller social gatherings. fuyuko is originally from nagoya, japan. her parents are both working in the manufacturing industry, but are both close to retiring soon. the ito family, due to their hard-working nature, is rather well off and there are little worries about the future money-wise.

early on, fuyuko liked picking up her mother’s crime novels, that the woman consumed en masse; fuyuko mostly fascinated by the ones with a female lead – rendering her with an idea for her future in her head.

however, there was one problem: even the slightest little cut on her finger would make her wince, the mere sight of blood ( real blood, that is. ) making her close her eyes, not able to take a look.

that was a problem for her, as it slowly dawned on her that being a detective and being this squeamish would definitely not work out. it baffled her a little; there was no stopping her love for true crime in any case – she could read hours and hours about unsolved cases, the most cruel things, one documentary after another, but she knew that if she would experience that in person, it would hurt her in the long run.

still, as soon as she graduated high school, fuyuko enrolled into a bachelor’s in criminology, enjoying every single class she had to take, ending up with a pretty good degree.

while in college, she picked up a few extra language courses, weighing her options of maybe exploring the world: korean, english and the tiniest bit of chinese. she knew that maybe working abroad would be a problem as getting into law enforcement as a foreigner wouldn’t be exactly easy.

still, the thrill was there and fuyuko, even when she tried to push the thought aside, kept wondering what would be out there. at first, she only toyed with the idea, researching how her life in korea would be as a nobody. she wouldn’t know anyone, she would have to take her life into her own hands and actually try to survive.

she wasn’t able to get rid of the temptation, and decided to pack up her things and move. her parents weren’t extremely happy about the fact, but if other people could do it, so why not her?

after she had found a nice apartment after staying in a hostel for about two weeks, fuyuko couldn’t have been happier – finally a place for herself and her new life. and !!! the day she moved in, she encountered sweet takahiro, a ginger cat roaming the alleys looking a bit hungry, deciding to keep him; together they could fight the loneliness.

the next problem fuyuko would encounter would be the question of a job. her idea definitely raised some brows at the employment exchange – but somehow it worked. maybe the paperwork gods were on her side that day.

just like that, fuyuko was her own agency, her own boss. a private detective. it was the thought that had been rummaging through her head for a few months now, however she had never thought that it would become reality.

now, just because it was written on paper, didn’t mean that it would work out. it took a few weeks and lots of calls – back and forth, discrete advertising and finally she got something, her first case !!!

the first case: the woman seemed rather unbothered, however she still wanted to find out if her husband was cheating or not. she had mentioned lots of money being involved and her just knowing that the dearest husband was up to no good. fuyuko had no problem stalking the man, documenting his every step and providing the wife with more than enough information – after all, fuyuko had an endless amount of patience, her work was driving her and she just needed to find out the truth. and the pay was good.

she now lives a bit more peacefully, knowing that her dreams had worked themselves out and that she has a rather stable income and a reason to stay.

characteristics.

fuyuko isn’t afraid of taking risks, however most of the time she is a rather calm person. in general, she has a positive view on things and is self-assured.

she is candid and honest and will always prefer to be straight-forward with others even if her words could hurt the other’s feelings – so some might find her too blunt, some might think her honesty is a fresh breath of air.

fuyuko has an independent soul and usually doesn’t like being told how to live: she knows what’s best for herself and will always do whatever she feels like doing.

it is easy for her to read other’s emotions and body-language, often noticing if anything is off rather quickly.

what she can’t stand are selfish people and she doesn’t tolerate much bullshit as she can usually tell whenever she is getting herself into a useless / waste-of-time-type situation.

it is rather fun to be around fuyuko as she can be spontaneous and will always try to cheer the other person up whenever she can. random dates and day trips are always on the list!

new friends: someone she just met but they immediately clicked and now can’t stop hanging out with each other.

a job: maybe your muse needs to find something out and fuyuko can definitely help them out – with a big friendship discount, of course.

night drives: sitting around for hours in a car isn’t too strange for fuyuko, however having company while driving through the city at night while talking about anything and everything would be way better.

the fall: maybe while trying to peek through a window or something, fuyuko falls and twists an ankle ( or worse ) and isn’t able to move around much. your muse volunteers to take care of her for the time being.

Dumbo 2019 characters’ zodiac signs: (Part 2)

Max Medici ----> Sagittarius ♐

Just like Holt, I was torn on putting Max on this sign or another. Like Taurus perhaps. But Sagittarius seems the best choice to me. As I said before with Colette, fire signs are deeply passionate and enthusiastic. And Max surely is a person full of those characteristics.

I said I thought on placing him on Taurus because, if you saw the film, we found Max taking a very realxing bath with a spa product mask on his face and slices of fruit on his eyes. Taurus people love those kind of things, they love comfort, luxuries and more importantly: food. But Max is a true Sagittarius because by being a ring master; the owner of a circus, he is a guy who enjoys new expiriences and places.

Sagittarius is commonly known for its love of travelling, exploring, getting out of their house and enjoying the outdoors. According to the novelization of Dumbo: Circus of Dreams, Max absolutely loved the world of the circus and travelling shows from a very young age. With that he created his own and loves showing the different talents he founded through out those years.

Max Medici, like a typical Sagittarius, is full of energy, uncapable to stay still, like a child who doesn’t want to grow up. That is why, when he starts to work for Vandevere in Dreamland, he looks miserable and bored because he was asigned to work on an office. Feeling very estatic and caged.

He might sometimes take stupid or hasty decisions on his circus (when he sold Holt’s horses or some of his stuff of his tent without telling him) but he never did it with bad intentions. Max may be not a perfect boss, but being a good Sagittarius as he is, he’s a fun, hilarous and devoted friend.

Milly Farrier ----> Virgo ♍

Virgos are mostly know for having a big mind, a very smart brain and that’s the principal quality of the Farrier girl.

Milly dreams to be a scientist, thing that conncts with Virgo because people born under this zodiac sign are people who have intelligent brains. Milly’s wish on being a scientist implies that she likes to read, calculate and research scientific facts and answers. Always choosing logic over other things.

Virgo, like Capricorns, is an earth sign and earth signs are very known for wanting and searching for stability. Both personally and professionally. I’m saying personally because for Milly finding emotional stability is also important to her. Since the loss of her mother really affected her, she tried to cope with that pain in the way she could, keeping the key Annie gave to her before she died. Turning into a symbol of finding the one true answer that will help you, if you find the right door. She doesn’t want fame (be a show off) she only wants people to respect and understand her love for science, caring more about the persue of knowledge.

Other thing about this sign is that is super organized, clean, always wanting to put things on their respected place. But also, it’s a perfectionist sign, always caring about details, not to mention that can cause a fear of failure. And in the movie we see that fear in Milly; she fears of failing on her experiments or fail to her loved ones. Like when she felt guilty on failing on Dumbo, ‘cause she wasn’t able to convince Vandevere to let the elephant being with his mom. Believing that showing Dumbo can fly, it would be enough to grant him that wish.

Joe Farrier ----> Libra ♎

And for our last character of the movie, Joe, in my opinion, is a perfect Libra.

If you saw Dumbo or my headcanons, you’ll probably think this choice doesn’t make sense since Libra is an air sign, and air signs are known for their intelligence. And Joe, at least for what some saw in the film or from our fandom, he’s not the smartest boy in town.

But hear this: Libra’s symbol are the scales, object used to represent balance and justice; that’s one of the many qualities of this zodiac sign, wanting things to be just and fair.

We saw that need in Joe when Dumbo was separated from his mom the first time in the Medici Bros. Circus and second one in Dreamland. He felt terribly bad for the animal, he wanted Dumbo to be happy and felt scared when he learned that Mrs. Jumbo will be killed by VA’s orders, so she would not be a “distraction” for Dumbo’s debut. Obviously, the little boy did not hesitate to help to free the baby elephant and his mother once his father planned the rescue, even if it could be dangerous, Joe knew he couldn’t let an evil man like Vandevere to get away with it.

He might not be the brightest bulb, but he’s a kid with a pure heart and a very perceptive sight. Libra people have other particular traits like being creative, super optimistic, seeing the bright side of everything, always trying to be suportive and useful. At a young age, Joe is a kid who had been through a lot: the loss of his mom, his father going to war to only return with one arm, wanting to be on an act and proove he has talent, befriends a baby flying elephant and saves him, and for last he survives a fire alongside his family. Even with all that, Joe still kept his hopeful heart, trying to be optimistic and using that to look into the future. Just like the spirit a common Libra.

I'll try and do all these by tonight so here we go! Hm, Scorpio sun, Cancer moon, and Aquarius rising. I see a girl with a long braid immediately off the bat. She looks like she's somewhat doing ballet (this has become a recent theme in my readings lol along with dancing) i feel like you may have had a nice childhood somewhere along those lines. You enjoyed it because your parents didn't constrict you to much. Either that or completely opposite, I'm getting mixed stuff sorry.

The sign that reaches most is the Scorpio sun, it takes the form of its most known large Scorpion. Its huge enough to be bigger than an elephant, black and rigid she'll covers it's body. When I feel it it comforts me. Unexplainable companionship. The Scorpion loves it's hosts as much as they can, and at times can be huge dogs when wanted up. This is kinda of the feeling I get from them. Many dots sparkle and decorate it's shell, seems as if the paint of the clouds had fallen on its back and left a pattern. The color is a bright white or brown, from what I read brown isn't a god aura but this one is perfect fine don't worry! The scorpion doesn't have an exact home. It travels the body as it pleases. The grounds are so dark they could pull you I by a minute stare. When my foot touches it, it feels like water. The Scorpio sun tells me I shouldn't go too far deep into it (my phone is messing up please let me get through this💃🕺) the darkness of the pools tell me you have had deep thoughts. They gave darkened your waters and left you dyed in a way. Those times may be over soon or even now. Either that or future wise they will happen. The reflections in the waters tell me your last lives have gone through much prejudice form others. Tears cascade down the face of a boy, holding his hands up to his face to show a scarred and blurred out image. I hug the Scorpio sun closer as if to forget the memory. "Mother" "mommy" the little boy cries for his mother but no one comes. A darker theme than intended with Thai reading. He seems as if he's done something he will regret or will do something. Pain has stained him, imprints of his dried tears. He has wide eyes, glistening and bright, dots upon dots of white and shines are hidden in them. (I feel so weird cause my body is holding his face and he looks so cute but this is a bad timing) I feel like he's comforted by this action though. Climbing up to the scorpions back with me. Holding my shirt tight. We've been here for what seems like years. This boy needs a mother. I feel it somehow manifested the Scorpio sun and possible Aquarius ascendent. Every trace of him lost on the earth is left imprinted in the waters of the ground, and the specks on the Scorpion. Now that I look around it seems all this around us has a piece of him. He's out so much into this world the zodiacs live in. I feel bad for him In a way. The Scorpio sun is only a guide front what I see, there's nothing but friendship to find in this domain. Maybe a loss of belonging at times throughout your life. The need to impress people became so great at some point it consumed you, I don't think it was for a long period though.

The Cancer moon is secretive, tactical, and guarding. Feels as if coming into contact with an archer. Now held high and determined look on their face. Long hair and silly eyes. Long lashes that could very well make any anime lover fall. (Weird- but go of ig) trees and high tops cover the area. A never ending forest of fun and travel where it's due in the sky. Tall pillars of housing sometimes left empty. The more I see it it becomes some kind of anime story lord. "brother" and stuff like that came from the archer's mouth, taking the kid and his hand. He seems worried and relieved. But then asks "how or why did you leave your assigned area" we were once at the hip now at the chest and shoulders of the host. A path of some sort. Was the boy supposed to stay there? If that was his brother why would he want him there though. I don't think he wanted him to. I think it was a form of protection. The whole Village of people live inside the host. Possible conscience? You think like a butterfly in a trap sometimes. "Where do I go?" "What do I do?" Looking back and forth for answers and ideas. The archer is your guard. Defending the sanction of your beloved forest. Families and loved ones all around. They work hard to keep the dark waters at bay. White clothing covers each person. I don't know what more I can get here but I believe the Cancer moon is your friend to the end. Protecting everyone isn't easy, sometimes it kins you so much it takes over completely.

The Scorpio sun needs to stay back here I believe. I may need it later but not now.

Lastly, we approach the Aquarius ascendent. A cold domain, filled with chains and air. Cold and thick enough to cut someone's skin when commanded. The Aquarius has no form but a vessel. An iron one with bolt and sweat work. It's not locked up I believe. Either protected or exiled in a way? It may have made the shell itself to protect it's form and stars. When it opens it shows the constellation, dark colors and idealized purple and blues. The stars feel like gumballs. As if I could pop one in and chew it. There's not much here but we'll see. Possible medical issues younger or older, the child at the beginning could have been a sibling or family member of not you. I feel you closed some parts off to people, it's not bad you just seem to be so kind it hurts your Aquarius at times.

Over all, I didn't do well enough in trading so let's see. I see cold soups, prepared dinners, family gathering, people moving and being together, joy on the outside. As if a movie of good times is on the screen. Your Cancer moon is so skilled it sometimes seems different to other people, a chance of people calling you things at times but not fairly much. With the Aquarius ascendant there's probably even more of that.

Characteristics: possible beauty marks on the face, or stomach. Your hair is either very tangled or very soft and parted often. Soft features that are turned hard by the Aquarius ascendants natural nature and the Cancer moons calculating look. They work a lot together sometimes, they seem so similar to me. Possible skinny looks, you may feel too skinny at times? Either that or there's something with body image. Your smile is dim but soft, people like seeing it because it makes them think of the sweetest sugars and things. Possible likeness for long clothes and big clothing? Your idols are your comfort often? I see a need to get taller in a way either 4'11-5'5 or 5'6 vague ik but that's why I got.

Soulmate and love wise: you will definitely meet them sometime when you feel most down, vending machines and cold drinks. They smile first. Wanting to seem nice to you. They are definitely soft at first and they love you greatly. There may be cheating somewhere though. Can't determine if you see each other again. They love your neck and being able to hold it in there hands or kiss it anytime. (Ughhhhh) if you're already with them or someone ignore.

Don't worry about this reading it isn't bad at all, it just seems more complicated than seems. You are amazing and lal your dreams will come true later on, some may seem long gone now but don't worry. Having Scorpio here helps with the fact it adds more character in my opinion? It's vague but basically I feel there's more layers here than any other signs. Scorpio is a mover and motivator for the best of it's host, looks, thoughts, opinions. People often pay attention to Scorpios so having it as your sun makes things more difficult as your own thoughts may be fought against by others.

Having your Cancer in the 5th house is fairly well I believe that house is based around children and family. Having it there creates wide opportunities for both life paths and for people to enter your life somehow. Through family or relationships. I know the 11th house is more suited for that but it still works in favour.

10 things I wish I knew about astrology when I began studying

As we all know, astrology is a huge, beautiful, but complicated field of study. There are infinite traditions, techniques, and approaches that you could spend years and years studying just a couple of them at a time! Astrology is one of those subjects that never ceases to amaze you and you never fully finish learning about it or "master" all of it. It weirdly gets more confusing and complex the longer you study it!

The things we read and learn about astrology when we first start out studying are usually very different from what we learn as we continue studying longterm. You'll start to have sudden crises and realize "wait, this entire concept I learned a while back doesn't work at all how I originally thought it did," or "I just learned this new concept and it makes some things I learned a while ago make absolutely no sense, so now I have to change my entire view on astrology." Since there's so much information and so many different approaches to astrology, it takes time to really sort through everything to find what's helpful and useful to you, and what's not.

The things I'll be talking about here are tips that I really, really wish I had known earlier on in my studies to save me time and confusion. Not everyone will agree with me on all of these points, but these are some things I've learned, or realizations I've had that really changed the game for me.

1. Cookbook interpretations aren't totally accurate when studying or reading a chart.

When I say 'cookbook interpretation,' I'm referring to the interpretations where you simply look up "planet x in sign/house y" or "planet x aspecting planet y" and it gives you a bunch of generic possible meanings without being personalized to the specific chart you're looking it. They're sort of a one-size-fits-all summary that glazes over all of the nuance and context provided by the rest of the chart.

If you were to draw up another birth chart with the same placement you're interested in researching, but all the other components of the chart are different, you would get the exact same interpretation of that single placement regardless of how different the two charts are as a whole. Those types of interpretations can only go so far. They're great to start off with, don't get me wrong! It's impossible to look at a birth chart and be able to start putting all of the pieces together to form a personalized interpretation when you first start using astrology or learning about your own chart. Chances are, you don't even recognize the astrological glyphs yet! We can't suddenly come up with advanced interpretations right off the bat, we have to start somewhere.

Those cookbook interpretations are great to get a broad sense of what a placement does on its own, but in reality, no single placement functions as if it were immune to the influence of everything else in the chart. Every chart is unique. All of the different components factor into how each placement will manifest, which means a simple, generic description of a placement won't truly encapsulate the many facets that make your placements unique to you. If your goal is to study astrology seriously and practice it professionally or do readings for other people, I think it's incredibly important to eventually stop relying on those generic interpretations.

Don't worry about trying to memorize or make your interpretations perfectly match what websites say about them. They more than likely won't exactly fit an individual's chart since there's a lot more going on in a whole chart than a general summary will take into consideration.

If you want to learn how to provide impactful readings, break up with those short cut interpretations and practice gathering more individually accurate information from a chart.

2. Astrology is primarily centered around the planets, not the signs.

We're so used to seeing the signs being portrayed as the core component in astrology, that the majority of people don't even know astrology has more to it than that. Of course that's mainly because the average person hasn't really been exposed to astrology aside from seeing their horoscope in a magazine, but that focus on the signs even tends to carry over when we start studying horoscopic astrology (horoscopic astrology: the type of astrology that uses full charts that include your ascendant (rising), and the other planets/points that we know and love).

It's super easy and even fun to play with the idea of what the signs do and how we see those qualities reflected in people. But when you really look at it, the signs on their own are honestly very limited with what they can do and the influence they have in astrology overall. When we center our astrology around the signs (I've seen some astrologers call this "signology"), we're not too far off from doing exactly what people accuse horoscopes of doing: generalizing all people based on just 12 plain archetypes.

We know that there's a lot more to astrology than sorting people into 12 sets of characteristics, but we miss out on what astrology is fully capable of when we reduce it to the signs with a smaller mixture of planets, houses, and aspects on the side.

Aside from those considerations, let's look at the foundations of astrology. Looking back at the work of ancient astrologers, planets were the primary focus of astrology from the beginning. Astrology began with people observing the appearance and tracking the movements of the "wandering stars" in the sky, and taking those planets' qualities into consideration when determining what their jobs were. People used the planets to predict events long before systems of zodiac signs, houses, and aspects were formed. Hundreds of years before the zodiac signs that we know today were standardized, Babylonian astrologers used 17-18 constellations to track the motion of the planets. The zodiac "signs" back then weren't even the same as the ones we know now.

Later on when more systems, doctrines, and techniques were being developed, astrologers used the planetary rulership scheme to develop the meanings of the signs, NOT the other way around. Let me repeat that, because this is important. The signs did not pass their meanings on to the planets, the signs GOT their meanings FROM the planets they're ruled by.

Mercury doesn't represent communication because Gemini is associated with talkativeness, Gemini is associated with talkativeness because it is ruled by the planet Mercury. Capricorn didn't pass on some of its meaning on to Saturn, Capricorn got its meaning FROM its ruler, Saturn. The same goes for all of the other signs.

I'm being so thorough with this point because it makes it clear that even if you DO mainly use the signs, those signs' meanings are based on the planets, just like with the majority of other concepts in astrology.

Even breaking it down to one of the first things a lot of us learn in astrology, the signs simply tell you HOW the planets do what they do. The signs don't act on their own. The planets' positions and movements are ultimately what we pay attention to in astrology, whether it's in birth charts, horary charts, election charts, or even tracking transits' correlations to current events (mundane astrology).

If I have an empty house in my chart, what do I look for to find the meaning of that house? I look at where planetary ruler of that house is placed. If I want to know what changes my career will go through over the next year, what do I look for? The transits of the planetary ruler of my Midheaven or 10th house, or even looking at the different planets that will be moving past my Midheaven or through my 10th house.

The planets are key in astrology.

Understanding the how the planets work and making them your focus will improve what you do. Learn their strengths, their weaknesses, their temperaments, their cycles, etc, and it'll drastically change how you use astrology.

3. The signs are not equivalent to the houses.

I'll keep this one brief and direct because it seems to be a big topic of debate among astrologers.

To define them as best as I can, the signs are segments of the ecliptic (the annual path through space the Sun makes from the earth's POV) that the planets move through because of their rotation around the Sun (this planetary movement is called 'secondary motion'). The houses are segments of the earth's sky from a specific location that the planets seem to rotate through on a daily basis because of the earth's rotation on its axis (this daily movement is called 'primary motion').

Here are some pictures to try and help you visualize the difference between these two things.

The signs:

The Houses:

The houses (segments of the earth's sky) represent topics and areas of our lives. The signs (segments of the ecliptic) give the planets transiting through them different characteristics, and tell us which planets rule those transiting planets. They have two different purposes, which is why I firmly believe that we need to separate their meanings. Of course this is complicated a bit by what we call the '12 letter alphabet,' where we see Aries, Mars, and the 1st house all treated as being "naturally connected," then Taurus, Venus, and the 2nd house all are treated as being "naturally connected," and so on. The 12 letter alphabet is everywhere, unfortunately, so it takes most of us a while to come around to the fact that the houses and signs do not share purposes in astrology just because they're numbered the same (Aries = 1st house because it's the1st sign of the zodiac, etc).

To reiterate what I'm saying here, Aries (and Mars) does not "naturally rule" the 1st house. Taurus (and Venus) does not "naturally rule" the 2nd house. Gemini (and Mercury) does not "naturally rule" the 3rd house, and the same goes for the rest of the signs and houses.

Unless you're an Aries rising, this concept does not work. If you're a Capricorn rising, Saturn rules your 1st and 2nd houses, Jupiter rules your 3rd house, Mars rules your 4th house, Venus rules your 5th house, and so on. The ONLY people who have Aries + Mars associated with / ruling the 1st house are Aries risings. The ONLY people who have Capricorn + Saturn associated with / ruling the 10th house are Aries risings. I can't emphasize this enough.

If you really want to get into where the houses got their meanings, their position in the earth's sky, angularity (whether they're angular, succedent, or cadent), and planetary joys played a big part in that. I won't get into these right now, but if you want resources on these concepts, I recommend the lecture on the houses from The Astrology School.

Bottom line for this point: learn to distinguish the signs and houses. For a lot of us, the houses made almost no sense until we learned that they ARE NOT the same as the signs, and they shouldn't be treated as such.

4. The outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) are not usually very personally significant in a birth chart.

These three planets are called the 'generational planets' for a reason. They group together entire generations of people, which means their positions by sign are the same for people born within years and years of each other. They're so far from the Sun and they move so slowly that they are not as consistently active as the rest of the planets. Uranus takes around 8 years to move through ONE sign, which means everyone within 8 years of your age have the exact same Uranus sign as you. The same goes for Neptune and Pluto, but they're even slower, which means you share that sign placement with even more people.

So yes, I may have Pluto in Sagittarius and it supposedly makes me so adventurous and ✧･ﾟ: *✧･ﾟ:* free spirit *:･ﾟ✧*:･ﾟ✧, but everyone born from 1996 to 2009 have Pluto in Sagittarius as well. Think about how many people were born in that 13 year long time span! And that's relatively quick for Pluto considering the fact that it can spend up to 31 YEARS in one sign.

A side note (and this is a personal belief, but I do know others who think this as well): I believe that Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto function differently from the other 7 planets. Part of what determines what the planets do is their visibility in the sky, their brightness, their color, and their speed. Fast planets are more active or faster to manifest than the slower moving ones. The brighter planets (Jupiter and Venus) are benefic, the dimmer, more muddy colored planets (Saturn and Mars) are malefic. Things like these are how ancient astrologers made note of what the planets represent. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are newer planets (discovered within the last 200 years), so those same astrologers obviously weren't around to use those same guidelines to decide what they represent and how they work. But if you take those same things into consideration, the outer planets wouldn't be as significant in general, and some consider them to be malefics because 1) they're not visible to the naked eye, and 2) they're SO slow.

I still do take the outer planets into consideration in certain cases (which I'll go over later), but overall, I believe that they work differently because of their qualities. Unlike the 7 visible planets which rule over signs, and represent topics, people, etc, I believe that the invisible outer planets act more as influencers. I don't believe that Uranus rules technology itself (technology is very Mercurial), but I do think it has to do with the progression of humanity, and therefore the progression of technology. I don't believe that Neptune rules the subconscious, but I do believe that Neptune tends to hide things or confuse and muddy things up. I believe they have specific qualities that they tend to throw into everything else going on in a chart, but don't rule over the common, everyday things we deal with.

In a lecture I once listened to, Robert Schmidt said something like "If the outer planets are transcendental, why do we reduce them to common topics and objects?" That really confirmed my view on those planets. (I don't remember the exact quote, so don't hold me to that.)

The only time I'll really consider an outer planet to be influential in a chart is if A) it's in an angular house, or B) they're very tightly aspecting other inner planets.

5. Your birth chart is not limited to only being about your personality.

This one is pretty simple. Modern astrology for the most part poses your entire chart as being ALL YOU. As if every piece of your chart is simply a different part of your personality. That's not completely the case. Of course your chart can tell you about your personality, but it also can tell you about your life as a whole, which includes people and things that are not you. You can see different people, places, topics, objects, and more in your chart!

Want to know about your romantic partners? Look at your 5th house, 7th house, their rulers, or Venus. Want to know about your friends? Look at your 3rd house, 11th house, their rulers, or Jupiter. Want to know about your neighbors? Look at your 3rd house and its ruler. Want to know about your debts and inheritances? Look at your 8th house and its ruler. The list goes on.

Just about anything that is in your life in any way can be seen somewhere in your chart. Don't go on studying thinking that your chart can only tell you about how you behave!

6. It's normal to feel like certain placements and aspects in your chart don't fully resonate with you at all times!

This is another one I learned through traditional astrology that modern astrology didn't teach me. Not all of your chart is active at all times throughout your entire life! Your chart tells you the story that is your life, and throughout that story, different planets will become a major character, take charge and become more evident in your life than they may have been before or may be later.

This is something that timing techniques such as profections, zodiacal releasing, solar return charts, and more, can tell you. I won't go into how to do use those techniques in this post, but it's something to keep in mind and research!

7. Indicators specific to your birth chart are just as important, if not more important than general indicators.

When I talk about indicators in this case, I'm talking about planets that represent (indicate) certain things in your chart. An example of something that a planet generally indicates is Venus representing relationships. This can apply to everyone, which is why it's a general indicator. Let's say Venus in your birth chart rules the 3rd house and 10th house. In that case, Venus would also represent (be an indicator for) your environment (3rd house) and your career (10th house). These indications of Venus unique to your birth chart. Another example would be the ruler of your 7th house representing relationships. That ruler isn't always Venus, it's based on your own birth chart and it's unique to you. The reason I think this is something important to pay talk about now is because it's something I don't see talked about with beginners all that often, and I really wish I had learned that sooner.

This goes for all other topics and people! Pay attention to all of it, not only the general indicators just because they apply to everyone and are used more commonly.

8. Retrogrades aren't that big of a deal!

We've all seen the hype surrounding retrograde phases. Of course they do have significance and meaning, but they're not anything to be afraid of. They're completely normal, you've gone through so many in your life already, and you'll go through many more. Retrogrades happen because of the planets' rotations around the Sun from our point of view. Since the planets are constantly rotating around the Sun, retrogrades are just part of their cycle and they occur regularly. It's nothing to psyche yourself out or get nervous about! Even when 8 planets are retrograde all within one year, it's still normal, because this happens about every 2 or 3 years! Mercury is retrograde three separate times every single year, and some planets, like Saturn for example, are retrograde for about 5 months out of every single year.

Even though retrogrades do happen regularly, not all of them are significant for you personally. This goes back to what I said before about timing techniques. If a planet is activated for you and it's retrograde, or if a house is activated and a retrograde planet is transiting through it, it's more likely to be significant for you. If a planet or the house that a retrograde planet is moving through is not activated, it's probably not going to be as impactful on you directly.

Either way, retrogrades aren't all big and bad and scary, so try not to let the hype around them get to you! Don't let those "there are 6 retrogrades this year, karma is gonna kick all our asses!!" posts scare you. Save your energy!

9. Your draconic chart is not your "soul's journey."

I'm not even completely sure where this idea came from, it's just something that circulated on Twitter for a while and we all ate it up without question. First of all, ??? Second of all, it's been confirmed that the concept of how draconic charts are drawn up was just a mistranslation, and so it's not even a very reliable concept. I've read something similar about sidereal astrology too and I kind of question that concept of "ego vs soul's journey" as well, although sidereal IS a valid system to use if you choose. That's a whole other topic that's too big for this post, so I won't get into it. This is a super short point, but I wasted time looking at my draconic chart a couple years ago, so I figured I'd share that to save others the trouble.

10. Contrary to popular belief, traditional astrology isn't irrelevant just because it's old.

There's this common argument that modern astrology dominates over traditional astrology because it has taken all the best parts of the tradition and grown from it. This is not true!

Due to political and religious changes throughout history that resulted in astrologers being exiled, astrology texts being outlawed, burned, and/or lost, a good majority of thousands of years of astrological work was missing for hundreds of years. This means that when newer astrology began to come around, a lot of the knowledge and progress that had been made throughout history wasn't taken into consideration. If they didn't even know about all of this lost knowledge, how could they build upon it to make the practice better?

Modern astrology wasn't exactly created because traditional astrology was deemed unfit and outdated. There was just a lack of awareness of the traditions for the most part because of lost texts and the fading off of astrology. Astrology wasn't always popular or legal, and the internet hasn't always been around, so it wasn't easy to find astrologers to learn from or get consultations from, books to read or anything like what we have today. It was only in the past 30 or so years that astrologers began rediscovering and translating ancient texts, which brought back some very useful and advanced techniques that had been lost for hundreds of years. 30 years is VERY recent, and work is still being done to recover those lost texts and techniques, so these concepts still haven't fully been reincorporated into modern astrology yet.

We live in a time where astrology resources are more accessible than ever, astrologers are everywhere, and astrology itself is pretty popular. Take advantage of all of the knowledge we have available to learn from! Don't dismiss tradition just because it's incorrectly assumed to be irrelevant to what we do in modern times. This is the perfect time to learn from all sorts of traditions and figure out how they can work with the newly developed concepts we have today.

until one night a few months ago, when she and her fiance were leaving a club - drunk and stumbling, clinging to his arm with practiced ease . . . when two rough hands that weren’t his pulled her away. into a darkened alley, where accomplices met and held her at knife-point. they wanted to know about her father. her uncles. her mother, aunts, grandfather. stark plans, stark anything - gravely voices that wondered how many pretty pennies they could get if they just took her off the streets now. held her until they paid, and maybe they’d just kill her anyways. the rough brick of the building at her back digs into unmarred skin, leaving it scratched and red - prick of a blade just centimetres away from the flesh of her neck, threatening to cut it open and leave her bloody.

she can’t figure out where he is, the man who’s supposed to love her - seemingly vanished into thin air the minute things had turned sour. sansa is convinced of the worst, mascara tears trailing down her cheeks, because this must be it. the end of it all.

reprieve is the sight of one man, then two, crumpling to the ground. a familiar face appearing in the dimly lit alley as the knife at her throat clatters to the ground and her freedom is given. alive but shaken, sansa hasn’t been the same since.

i used to be a darling starlet like a centerpiece. had the whole world wrapped around my ring. i flew too closely to the sun that’s setting in the east, and now i’m melting from my wings.

returning to a normal life post incident - post trauma - has been easier said than done. now reclusive in nature, stowing herself away for days in her high rise loft apartment, sightings of the eldest stark daughter are said to be few and far between. she no longer frequents her own boutique, working instead from home and through various intermediates to ensure everything is well controlled; sansa only appears when it’s absolutely necessary, when business requires a gentle, steady hand and cannot be managed from afar.

custom designs are still available, but often very hard to come by. sansa is incredibly selective with who she’ll meet in person with, and thus, only those who can guarantee her trust have been able to get them.

sansa does, however, outfit most of the stark syndicate in gear that is both fashionable and functional. including safety measures & fabric a little more durable than most. this is generally the extent of what she’s willing to do for the syndicate, the idea of being involved in violence is absolutely terrifying to her, especially after everything she went through without even being more than a child of known members.

she still is unaware of her ex-fiance’s involvement in the attempted abduction - if he was working along with the men, or if he was just cowardly enough, uncaring enough to have let her be pulled from his arms. she hasn’t spoken to him much, outside of ending their relationship as a whole, the truth isn’t worth the extra pain it may cause, or so she’s convinced herself for now.

wanted connections !! i may send some of these into the main after a bit if they aren’t filled just because i’m #needy.

judas . . . this would be sansa’s ex - fiance! i did write it off a tweaked and modernized version of her relationship with joffrey but it definitely doesn’t have to be him. their relationship was seemingly picture perfect - and likely too good to be true. they were frequent party and club attendees together, and truly, was based off of the fact that being together was akin to the high that came with endless drinks and fun. ideally, he would have just been using sansa to hopefully siphon information or even to gain an in to the stark family - the possibilities are endless and i’m ?? here for them? sansa romanticized the fuck out of him and their relationship, ignoring any and all warning signs until things went bad the night of the after club incident. essentially she’s ghosted him, aside from mailing back his ring and a letter telling him it was, in very few words, over. the finer details are very much so up for discussion and interpretation so y’know, run wild.

white horse . . . whomever saved sansa from the alley - no gender requirements because we love equal opportunity ass kickers in this house. they had at the very least an acquaintanceship with sansa in the past and after their act of heroism, sansa’s sort of attached herself to them in a very idealized way? not necessarily romantically but very clingy, she doesn’t want to be a burden but also it’s very hard for her to not instinctively shift into thinking of them as her protector and she just needs and wants to feel safe . . . all of the time. taken by dacey mormont.

pink pony club . . . sansa’s #squad. their relationship(s) may be slightly strained from sansa shifting into recluse mode, but ultimately they would be the people she spent the most time with previously. dancing, studying, coffee dates, all of the close friend things. bonus points for friendships from childhood to now, because we all need the montage of childhood sleepovers to sansa showing up at their house at 6:00 in the morning because she can’t sleep and she brought coffee, also do they have time to talk about how she can’t stop shaking and she just needs a hug.

5 Reasons You Might Not Identify With Your Zodiac Sign

We’re constantly talking about astrology and asking random people what their signs are (we can’t help ourselves!), and one thing we hear all the time is “I don’t feel like a typical [insert sign here].” Obviously astrology is just one part of the personality puzzle, and tons of factors–upbringing, birth order, culture, life experiences, etc.–affect us.

It’s pretty rare to identify 100% with every description of your zodiac sign, but I thought it might be helpful to break down some of the most common reasons people don’t feel like they match up with their sign.

1. You are an introvert/extrovert and your sign is typically the opposite. Certain signs have traits that are very outgoing or socially oriented. For example, Leos tend to be quite gregarious, and Geminis are known for being super chatty, but if you are an introverted person born under one of these signs, you may feel like these descriptions don’t apply to you.

Alternately, as an extrovert, you might not fit the bill of “secretive Scorpio” or “quiet Cancer.” Take a second, third, or hundredth look at the traits associated with your sign, and try to disregard some of the social descriptors–you might find that the rest of the deeper qualities do resonate with you, even if you don’t show them to the world.

2. You have another powerful influence in your chart, likely your moon or rising sign.Astrology is more complex than just what your sun sign is. You have an entire birth chart that shows the location of all the planets at the exact time of your birth; looking at this chart can give a more complete, in-depth understanding of your astrological profile.

Two things that tend to have a huge effect on your personality are your moon sign and rising sign. In astrology, our rising sign signifies how we present ourselves to the world, and to a certain extent, the lens through which we view the world. Where the moon is in your chart (AKA your moon sign) is extremely important as well. In fact, some astrologers believe its influence on personality is as strong as the sun’s.

We believe it’s up to you to decide what combination you are. Really though, get the info on your rising and moon sign, and once you blend those with your sun sign, you might find that your unique combination of signs makes perfect sense.

3. You were born close to the end or start of another sign. If you were born within a few days–even up to a week–of the shift of signs, you are what we affectionately call a “cusper,” meaning you were born on the cusp of your sign. It is really important for cuspers to read about the other sign you were born close to.

Sometimes you will find that you are a perfect blend of the traits of each, or way more one or the other. Check it out and see what you find.

4. You are oversimplifying your sign.Most people we talk to that know a little bit about astrology tend to have a very simple view of each sign. And let’s get real, we tend to typecast signs in our Astrology 101 columns too. It’s fun to boil down each sign into a list of adjectives, but the reality is astrology is complex, and your sun sign is complex.

Astrology provides us with a general idea of personality traits; how those traits manifest themselves can be hugely different in different people. As a Scorpio, Katelyn has met many “typical” Scorpios who are intensely angry and manipulative. She is not an angry person, but she is super intense, and that level of intensity is what she has in common with other Scorpios–what each person chooses to do with that intensity depends on a million different factors.

If you want to really grasp the complexities and depth of your sun sign, you’ve got read about your sign in a variety of different sources, be open to new interpretations, and talk to other people who are interested in astrology. You’ll get a more comprehensive view of your sign in no time!

5. You are at a different point in your self-growth journey. When you read about your sun sign, you’ll often find lists of positive and negative traits that are typically associated with it. This makes sense because all of us have our amazing characteristics, and our not-so-amazing ones.

As we go through life, we try to grow and emphasize our positive traits, and we (hopefully) work on letting go of those negative patterns. You may not relate to a list of traits associated with your zodiac sign because the negative (or positive) traits don’t match up with where you are in your path of self-growth. For example, perhaps you’re an Aries who has worked hard to curb your impulsiveness, or a Taurus who’s learned to let go of resentment.

Remember that astrology does not dictate your world view, political leanings, or how pessimistic or optimistic you are. What it can do is act as a tool for self-growth: look at your sign’s positive traits as something to aspire to, and work on letting go of the negative ones.

Astrology: Moon Sign- Nurturing

this is a bit of a random topic, but a good one to write about. they’re interesting.

astrological signs tend to creep me out a bit. there are people who claim they’re a load of rubbish, and won’t hesitate to cut you off at the mere mention of them (i can name a few of my friends that’ve done that. it’s annoying. don’t do it).

but at the same time, there are people who bloody love them. they’ll learn everything about each sign and devote half of their lives to recognising what sign each person they come into contact with is.

i’m not that obsessed.

still though, if you don’t find them interesting, i’ll assume you don’t know what an astrological sign is. because it’s undeniable that on the odd occasion you’ll read through the traits of your own sign and realise just how accurate it is.

for example, i’m a capricorn.

their good traits include:

• responsibility

• disciplinary

• self-control

• and good manners

i’m not vain. i’m not going to agree with any of them. i’ll leave the people who know me personally to decided whether those are accurate or not.

a capricorn’s bad traits include:

• being a know-it-all

• unforgiving

• condecending (the belief that they’re higher than everyone else)

• and constantly expecting the worst

i agree with the last one. i expect the worst in everything. now i can blame it on the fact i’m a capricorn.

I was tagged by @hithelleth a week or so ago, and I was abroad for five days, but I can finally do this. Thank you for tagging me! :D

For now, I’m not tagging anyone in particular - any of my followers are very welcome to do this, so scratch before, I’m tagging all my followers if they want to answer these 21 questions. :)

Nickname: Too embarassing to disclose to the public. :) My sister and I have the weirdest nicknames for each other, and only we get them. They’re all an inside joke, so yes, that’s our thing hehe. I’ve been called Nena, although I’m not a fan of this one, and I have this co-worker who calls me ‘sweetie’ sometimes; she’s like this cool aunt to everybody, super sweet.

Zodiac: Virgo, and 80% of the characteristics listed for this sign hold true for me. Oh man lol.

Height: 170.5 cm, which is 5′6.

Last movie I saw: I think I re-watched Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallow II in its entirety a couple of weeks ago. I had a few very busy weeks (over now, thank God), so I didn’t have much time to watch movies, or TV shows.

Last thing googled: The weather forecast, just before I started answering these questions lol. I feel like such a grandma. :)

Favorite musician: Oh, I LOVE music, and I love a lot of musicians. I divide my faves into two groups: pre-2005 and post-2005 haha. So, a few of the ‘new’ ones: Florence + The Machine, Bat for Lashes, Lewis del Mar, Twenty-One Pilots, Vast, Hozier, Years & Years (totally pop-y, but I love ‘em) ... From my ‘oldies and forever awesome’ group comes music that’s mostly rock, alternative rock, Britpop, some metal and hip hop / rap. Bands like Queen, Oasis, The Verve, Gorillaz, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, U2, Nine Inch Nails, Nightwish, Within Temptation, The Prodigy, Nas ... And Enya, original movie scores and classical music fit neither group, but I freaking love them all! Also, I’m sure a forgot a good number of my fave musicians, but you can check my music tag for more.

Song stuck in my head: Freaking ‘Treat you Better’ by freaking Shawn Mendes, which is so not my scene, but two girls sang it at school today, and confirmed it was Shawn Mendes, and the song’s stuck in my head. I’ve caught myself humming it to myself a few times today haha.

Do I get asks: An occasional ask, though very rare, from an anon, but mostly messages. I do get messages, I’m just extremely bad at replying to them. It takes me ages, and I’m so sorry for it. I love you, guys, I really do, I’m just shit at replying normally.

Following: 88 blogs. That’s a lot haha. Maybe I should see if there are any inactive ones out there?

Amount of sleep: I need my 8 hours of sleep, or I don’t function properly and make plans for an afternoon nap at 7 am. 7 hours will get me through the day, but I won’t be happy about it, and 6 hours ... don’t look at me after only 6 hours of sleep, just let me push through the day and go take a proper one-hour nap.

Lucky number: I don’t believe in lucky numbers, but for some reason, I like the look and idea of the number 5. Hmm.

What I’m Wearing: A baggy long-sleeved shirt, sweats, and a thin cardigan. Very casual.

Dream Job: I happen to have it - I’m a teacher. I feel super blessed to have this job. Getting a good job is mostly a matter of luck, even though I personally worked very hard to get mine, but in the end, it was still down to sheer luck. I have three dream jobs - writer, teacher, translator of fiction. And teacher I became. :)

Dream Trip: I don’t travel often, but I have visited some of my dream destinations, like London, Vienna, Salzburg and Venice. I’d like to go to Scotland, Ireland, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Versailles in France, Bavaria in Germany ... Travelling is a stressful thing for me, though, so one step at a time. I’ll get to those places when the time is right, I don’t feel rushed.

Favorite Food: Italian, all the way, especially spaghetti bolognese, and a good tiramisu for dessert.

Play Any Instruments: A little bit of the piano, and a few chords on the guitar, so I’m not sure the guitar counts. I mean, I do know enough chords to cover basic songs very poorly lol. I can play basic piano, mostly because that’s kind of a necessity when you take singing lessons. I took two years of piano in primary school, then quit until I started taking singing lessons in college, and you have to be able to accompany yourself a little bit on the piano when you practice, so I also had to improve my piano-playing abilities a bit. I’m not skilled at it, far from it, but I can play some simple pieces (using both hands, not just one). Like, for example, a poorly executed version of Victor’s piano solo at the start of The Corpse Bride. It’s all I can play now (awkwardly, let me stress that again), it’s the only thing I’ve practiced in a long time lol. The beginning is kinda smooth, and then the fun starts haha.

Languages: Slovene, English, German. I need to brush up on my German some more, but I’ve been in contact with the language for the last five years and have improved. I’m going to start reading novels in German again because I want to get to the level of German I was capable of 15 years ago. I understand Italian and Spanish, but can only speak basic Italian and even less Spanish. I read both languages fluently and I learned Italian for four years, but not practicing makes your tongue - and brain - forget how to form phrases that you recognise when hearing them. Such a shame, really.

Random Fact: I sing in the car, but not in the shower, and I start my day with a piece of chocolate. :)

Common Hairstyle — Loose and down. Webby ain’t got time to be doing any fancy extra shit lmao. It would end up a wreck anyways because she can’t sit still. Sometimes it is picked up in like a make-shift ponytail or bun but that’s about as fancy as she gets. Overall (do they get sick easily)? — Nope. Webby is healthy as a horse, Bentina was very on top of this and has ebbed that into her granddaughter as well. Physical Ailments — Nothing as of right now, but I am sure she’ll be breaking a bone sometime soon xD Neurological Conditions — I think we are good in this part. I mean some people might consider her having like ADHD, but honestly that’s just her personality Allergies — None Grooming Habits — Good. She has clean hygiene habits. Like don’t get her wrong she has no qualms getting down and dirty, jumping in puddles and mud all that stuff but she does clean up after haha Sleeping Habits — Oh my god no one should ever sleep with Webby. Webby has HORRIBLE sleeping habits!! She has hard-core sweet tooth on her and that’s mainly because she wasn’t able to indulge in such things when her granny was around so now she’s taking FULL ADVANTAGE Exercise Habits — On point!!!! Part of her spy training was remaining fit and always having a set required time for exercising. She still follows through with this even with her granny not around. She now goes to the gym though!!! She’s also very into non-fictional books that talk about Ancient societies and the mythical beliefs attached to them. Magazines — Nope. Foods — Webby did keep to a rather strict food habit, but that was when her Granny was around!!! Now that Bentina isn’t around she has indulged in some unhealthy yummy food including tons of sweetss Drinks — JUICEEE a HUGE lover of juice!!! Any kind really but her favorite is fruit punch!!! Not a fan of tea though Animals — All types and sorts of mythological creatures!!!! Unicorns are her favoritttee but tbh she wants to see them ALL. The first house is the basic connection we have to our body and the incarnation we are in at the moment. This is exactly why it is the most important window into our world of karmic debt and represents the level of ease or hardship we have to go through in order to evolve in this lifetime. If one has a challenge seen through planets set in the first house or its ruler, it becomes obvious that they have a task to resolve and a debt to repay while in this body. Each positive aspect, or a planet in its strong dignity, will speak of gifts we have gathered in previous lifetimes or through our family tree, whatever your chosen perspective.

Capricorn in 1st house

While you don’t come on strong, you can be subtly alluring and intriguing. Others can be drawn to you and feel that you understand them. You can be moody and your first reaction to problems might be to escape or to feel sorry for yourself, or helpless. You may not feel a strong sense of identity and struggle with your own impressionability. Like a sponge, you absorb the moods of others. Your imagination is powerful. You have an easygoing manner – a “what will be, will be” approach to the world.
