That tumblr glitch gave me more time to figure out who to vote in the upcoming Korosensei vs. Hikaru poll (these are two of my main fandoms, just fyi.) So that’s a match-up I didn't want to see… (and tumblr dutifully obliged and shut down the entire blog just to spare me, so, huh, very thoughtful of tumblr I guess....)

Anyway, the decision wasn’t that hard at all, in the end.

If Hikaru went to Kunugigaoka, he would absolutely end up in the E class. No question about it, with his grades, and playing go all the time surely won’t help. And what is the mission of the E class students? To kill their teacher. This is what Korosensei actually wants! Of course, he wouldn’t make it easy, but he would still be rooting for Hikaru.

So, please give Hikaru a vote and help him kill his teacher! (…in this non-existent crossover, that is…)

(tbh, I doubt that Hikaru would ever get into Kunugigaoka in the first place, with his grades… >_> but let’s ignore that. If he did, he’d surely go to E class for his third year…… and I just realized something, this works so well with the canon! So, Hikaru goes to Kunugigaoka for junior high, somehow, dunno, just barely getting in. He’s not doing too well and it seems quite sure he’ll yet end up in 3E. But then he starts playing go for real and turns out to be something of a prodigy. As he becomes a professional player during the second year the school decides to ignore his lacking academic skills, cause honestly, having such a promising young pro in the school certainly pleases the principal. But then… one month or so into the third year (in May, you know…) for some mysterious reason, Hikaru stops playing altogether. He offers no explanations, no nothing, and in the end he is sent to the E class, partly as an attempt to shake him out of it – not that it works. And that is, of course, just the beginning of this story, which is about coming to terms with a heartbreak and ending in another heartbreak and which I am not going to write dammit, the last thing I need rn is another wip that’s such a random crossover that barely anyone will read it, brain, please stop XD)

listen. i know it's not 2014 anymore and i know it's just a throwaway line and that the russo brothers didnt intend for marvel action blockbuster captain america the winter soldier to become the tragic gay love story that never was but man. having steve say "it's kind of hard to find someone with shared life experience" in a conversation about romantic relationships right before the bucky reveal is so cruel. it's not just about steve and bucky obviously having the shared experience of being "out of time," it's the fact that they've both been stripped of their humanity in opposite directions. steve is a legend, he is an american hero and a national icon before he is a human being the same way that bucky is a weapon and a killing machine before he is a human being. steve knows that anyone who falls in love with him in the 21st century fell in love with captain america first, and that's just not him. but then the one person who knew him first and knew him best and loved him (not captain america, that little guy from brooklyn) so much he died for it is alive, impossibly. and it's a miracle because he's back and it's horrific because he's back under the worst possible circumstances. but to steve, the winter soldier is worth tearing the world apart for because he's always been bucky first. they find each other and suddenly they're human again. and maybe, despite it all, being "out of time" becomes a blessing, because in this century they'd finally be allowed to love each other the way they've always wanted to. like real people do.

like. no. the captain america trilogy isn't about two queer men traumatized and alienated by war and modern life rediscovering and reclaiming their humanity through their love for each other. but. i mean. it couldve been

See how in 2023 almost all of the reblogs come from the OP, from their few hours/days in the tag search. Meanwhile in 2014 the % of reblogs from OP is insignificant, because most of the reblogs come from the reblogs within the fandom, within the micro-communities formed there. You didn't need to rely on tags, or search, or being featured. Because the community took care of you, made sure to pass the work between themselves and onto their blog and exposed their followers to it. It kept works alive for years.

It's not JUST the reblog/like ratio that causing this issue, it's the type of interaction people have. They're content with scrolling and liking the search engine, instead of actually having a reblogging relationship with other blogs in their community.

Anyways, if you want to see more content you like, the only true way to make it happen is to reblog it. Likes do not forward content in no way but making OP feel nice. Reblogs on the other hand make content eternal. They make it relevant, they make it exist outside of a fickle tumblr search that hardly works on the best of days.

If you want more of something, reblog it.

There's a version of the "don't go grocery shopping while hungry" rule specifically for writers where you should never under any circumstances be allowed to touch your draft within 3 hours of reading a really good story. Because sometimes when you read something great your head goes "fuck this is so much better than my stuff I should make that more like THIS instead!" Look at me. That's the devil talking and you should close the document NOW.

It's nearly impossible to have a quiet and peaceful day with the crew, like the strawhats. Nami is mostly used to the noise on Going Merry but one day she gets fed up with Zoro and Sanji arguing. Not only are they extremely loud, but they've also already broken way too many things during their fights.

She decides that If they want to act like brats, then she's going to treat them as such. So she makes them apologize and hug each other in silence for an hour. None of them are happy about this punishment, but Nami threatened to raise Zoro's debt, and Sanji couldn't say no to her. It could be worse.

It's awkward enough for them to not incite any fight for a long time and Nami is quite proud of herself. She knows it won't last forever but at least now she knows how to handle them. It inevitably happens again. And again. And again.

Much to her surprise, those fights became more and more frequent. And what's even weirder is that she could see the way both Zoro and Sanji occasionally glanced at her to make sure she was nearby. It's almost as if they wanted someone to make them hug each other. As if they needed an excuse.... these idiots.

Soon, they don't even need Nami's help. When they aren't busy training, cooking or fighting, they cuddle together. Sometimes Luffy or Chopper would join them, but most of the crew knew it was their time.

After two years spent separately, they became extremely clingy. It's no surprise when they start sleeping in the same bed. What is surprising is that despite them behaving like a lovey-dovey couple, those oblivious idiots are STILL unaware of each other's feelings.

It's Gakuhou's birthday (happy birthday, I guess… despite everything…) and I started again thinking of how funny it is that it's on the Shingen-ko Festival, anniversary of death of daimyō Takeda Shingen. Cause I'm lazy, I'll just copy this from wiki:
