Hug
It's nearly impossible to have a quiet and peaceful day with the crew, like the strawhats. Nami is mostly used to the noise on Going Merry but one day she gets fed up with Zoro and Sanji arguing. Not only are they extremely loud, but they've also already broken way too many things during their fights.
She decides that If they want to act like brats, then she's going to treat them as such. So she makes them apologize and hug each other in silence for an hour. None of them are happy about this punishment, but Nami threatened to raise Zoro's debt, and Sanji couldn't say no to her. It could be worse.
It's awkward enough for them to not incite any fight for a long time and Nami is quite proud of herself. She knows it won't last forever but at least now she knows how to handle them. It inevitably happens again. And again. And again.
Much to her surprise, those fights became more and more frequent. And what's even weirder is that she could see the way both Zoro and Sanji occasionally glanced at her to make sure she was nearby. It's almost as if they wanted someone to make them hug each other. As if they needed an excuse.... these idiots.
Soon, they don't even need Nami's help. When they aren't busy training, cooking or fighting, they cuddle together. Sometimes Luffy or Chopper would join them, but most of the crew knew it was their time.
After two years spent separately, they became extremely clingy. It's no surprise when they start sleeping in the same bed. What is surprising is that despite them behaving like a lovey-dovey couple, those oblivious idiots are STILL unaware of each other's feelings.

Tom the Poet or Tom the Filmmaker
Tumblr media
I would like all my theories to have evidence that back them up. I’ve come from fandoms where things said are a cute thing, worth considering, but solid theorising comes with quotes, screenshots, counting toes and following the writer’s pattern of three hint and foreshadowings before the big reveal. Therefore, I’m going through the first game yet again to collect all this information and put it in something coherent, something I will be happy with. I hope that the waves of my research will carry me to the proper essay with all the proofs necessary on every statement I’ve made in my first pinned post.
But there are still questions that have no answers as far as I know. One of them: why Tom Zane was made into a filmmaker and by whom?
In Control’s AWE the cutscene where Tom and Alan meet is a toned-down version of their encounter in Room 665. Alan asks if Tom is the Tom, the poet and the diver and Tom replies that it was just a beloved character in his old film. They have the same conversation at the start of Room 665 in Alan Wake II.
Alan seemed always forget that he (or someone else) changed Tom’s identity to filmmaker, still convinced that Thomas Zane he encountered at the start of his journey was a poet and a diver. First, when Tom-the-filmmaker was introduced, I thought that Alan forgot who Zane was and what he learned about him (I wouldn’t put it past Alan: he forgot many things he wrote, even his birthdate somewhat slipped his mind — in 2010 or in the Dark Place; the guide for the first game states that he’s 31, when the statue near the Parliament Tower claims he was born in 1977), but in both cases he kept insisting that Tom was a poet. So, the opposite is true: Alan forgot that Tom now is a filmmaker.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But why is Tom made to be a filmmaker? Even the second game insists that the Tom was a poet: Cynthia notes this in her journal, marvelling at why everyone thinks that he was a filmmaker; even the boys of Old Gods of Asgard say “you need him [Tom] to write the ending,” “art, like Tom’s writing” and “it’s Tom’s story we are dealing with, he’s gotta be the one to rewrite it”. And they are the only three people who knew the real Tom Zane and have some credibility in what he really was: a poet or a filmmaker.
The boys, of course, are a discussion on their own; Tom and Alan are interchangeable in their heads, they might talk about Alan the writer, hence “write, writing, story, rewrite”, but Cynthia has no such issues. She never mistook Alan for Tom, she loved Tom her whole life, devoted to his wishes and for sure wouldn’t mess such a big part of his identity in her head.
Then we have This House of Dreams, where we can read poems, some of them are by Thomas Zane and the Bright Presence shows Samantha that he was indeed a poet. Let’s add Jesse Faden into the mix, who as well, remembers Thomas Zane being a poet and even recites one of his poems in Control’s recordings. She still believes he was a poet somewhere around 2019, judging by her words about her needing to be in New York soon. Only in AWE DLC when she hears Tom claiming he’s a filmmaker, she changes her mind. But at this time, she’s already in yet another Alan’s story, her beliefs shaped by his writing (or by the words of her therapist and this vision of Tom and Alan; take your pick).
So, the question remains: why was Tom made a filmmaker?
My belief here is that Alan (or Scratch — do not confuse with Mr. Scratch) had no need of a poet. In This House of Dreams we see two sets of poems: one is by Thomas Zane and another is by Alan himself, in Control’s AWE Alan also claims that he wrote poems, and what value can Tom-the-poet add to Alan’s attempts to escape? A filmmaker on the other hand, as Tom says in AWII, can make a companion piece for his manuscript. Hence the filmmaker, the auteur.
As a side note. I do believe that the real Thomas Zane never makes his appearance in any games, first we see the Bright Presence possessing the body of Tom, then we see yet another Alan’s face in the Dark Place, that takes shape of what he believes Tom Zane was, and this part of Alan becomes a filmmaker at some point in his journey. After all, as the real Tom once wrote:
When you’re lost You’re lost in your own company

Hi Acacia! 14 and 24 for the writing game pls
Hello hello, friend! I'm always so excited to see you in my inbox, and I hope you are doing wonderfully! 😊
Thank you so much for your ask and for playing the writing excerpt ask game. I'd be happy to answer these for you and will be sure to choose excerpts from my OMORI stories since it's our shared fandom (and I'm really going to try very hard to get creative and not choose any Kelbrey excerpts for you too though there are several that fit both of these categories)! ^^
Everything is under the cut because of MAJOR OMORI spoilers! One snippet has its own set of additional warnings so please be mindful of that as well.
14. An excerpt of my writing that was out of my comfort zone
Do you mean any time I try to write romance ever? Because goodness that makes me so nervous and stressed out! I've been trying to practice a little by writing about ships I feel very passionately about and/or really, really like, but even then, it's a major struggle for me and I feel like it ends up leaning very ambiguous (i.e. it could be romantic or it could be platonic. The readers can choose their own adventure!) or blending into a background of several other plotlines going on. Sitting down to write a purely romance story is just not my thing, and I honestly don't think it's my strong suit. Therefore, for the sake of honesty, I feel compelled to give a major shoutout to "There Is Happiness" (which is about functional post-bad ending Kelbrey, sorry) because it was an entire story outside of my comfort zone but especially the dancing sequence. I still can't believe I wrote that (which I guess fits your other question too lol), but I won't subject you to an excerpt of that, friend! Instead here's some swoony HeroMari from my college, everyone lives AU one shot "Some Things Are Meant To Be":
Mari sighed. The truth was she was glad she had to stop at this point on the tour because she likely would have stopped anyway—too stunned by the swooning, swooping sensation in the pit of her stomach whenever a particular culinary arts student smiled. She had never spoken to him before—had never had the opportunity to properly introduce herself, but she supposed that might be for the best. She couldn’t help but wonder if she’d even be able to muddle her way through a coherent introduction if they did have the chance to meet. After all, on the few occasions he had met her eyes through the glass, staring at her with such gentleness that she could have sworn her heart had skipped a beat, her mind had completely emptied and she couldn’t even think of the tour script her roommate often, somewhat playfully, accused her of reciting in her sleep. Knowing herself, she’d probably forget her own name if he so much as said “hello” to her, so they’d both likely graduate before they got to share anything more than a few somewhat shy waves at each other whenever she passed by his class on her tours. Halfway through her little speech about the state of the art kitchen equipment they had available to students, Mari reached the line she both adored and dreaded which prompted the tour group to look through the window to see the future chefs of the world cooking and baking. When Mari turned to glance into the classroom herself, she somehow always managed to find him immediately in the crowd. Today was no different. Just as he was taking what appeared to be a souffle out of the oven, he happened to turn at the exact moment she did. Their eyes met. Time stopped. Mari’s heart raced. He smiled, and her heart ached. All of her thoughts disappeared, except one: Oh… He was beautiful.   That was not in her tour script.
And also, just for you, I'll include this excerpt of Hero admitting he's ready to find love again a decade after the good-ending from the final chapter of "But I Always Thought That I'd See You Again" (which is Aubrey and Hero's platonic friendship centric even though it also includes some background Kelbrey). I'm including it because it was another story out of my comfort zone, especially this particular scene (and I did a ton of research for it) and because I purposely wrote the story in such a way that the identity of Hero's love interest could be anybody you wanted who fit the ambiguous descriptors (I'm really sharing because I hope it'll resolve that "I need Hero and Zoey to realize their feelings" sentiment you mentioned in your comment on "Under the Weather" or maybe just add more Hero/Brandi to the world. It's written in such a way he could be talking about either of them or neither...choose your own adventure!)
“I think you’re a much stronger person than me, Hero. If someone deserves to be broken up about it, it’s you, and you should take as much time as you need. No one would blame you if you just…never moved on.”  Hero took a long, shaky breath then pressed his lips together. “That’s…that’s the thing, Aubrey. I…” His voice was so quiet she could barely hear him. He stared intently at his hands—twisting them together, refusing to look at her. It was almost like he couldn’t. “I had actually been thinking…”—he swallowed hard—“That is I…I actually wondered if maybe…I might be…ready…to...um...”  Aubrey tried her best to stifle a gasp. Of all the things she could’ve expected…she would have never even entertained this as a possibility. Hero had never expressed any interest in pursuing a relationship with anyone after Mari. They all respected it and never pried, just quietly resigned themselves to the fact that Hero might never love again, so to hear that he was actually, seriously considering moving on... She just couldn’t hold back the smile that tugged at her mouth as her eyes started to grow misty. “Really?” Hero blushed, and Aubrey’s breath caught in her throat. The expression on his face was so flustered but so warm, so affectionate—she never thought she’d ever see him make that face again. “Yeah…uh…I was actually…kind of thinking that I might ask someone out.” Aubrey’s jaw fell slack. Here she had been worried that Hero was listening to sad music and still pining after Mari when actually he was thinking about moving on. A flabbergasted but excited chuckle escaped her lips, and she threw her arms around his neck and hugged him—center console be damned. “Hero, that’s wonderful! I…you have no idea how excited everyone is going to be to hear that, especially Kel.” “Just…Just for coffee…” he stumbled quickly, awkwardly patting her on the back. “Nothing too big or dramatic or anything…” “This is big, Hero,” said Aubrey pulling away from him with a wide, bright smile. “You…you’ve met someone…” It wasn’t really a question.   His blush deepened. “I think it’s more like I finally saw someone who had been there for a long time.” “So it’s someone you know well?” Aubrey repeated wracking her brain trying to think of Hero’s closest friends and who this could possibly be. She supposed it was really none of her business, but she was curious. Hero nodded and hummed. “For a long time. We became close friends in college and we’re in this wedding together now so we’ve been seeing a lot of each other and…I guess I’ve just been thinking…realizing that…when I’m with her, I—I don’t know, Aubrey—I…feel things that I didn’t know I could feel anymore…” His voice trailed—quiet, distant as if he had forgotten himself, but his cheeks flushed a bright red. Aubrey’s eyes widened, but she could only blink at him in shock. Was Hero…? Was he really… in love? The question felt somewhat silly and juvenile, especially seeing as he had never even been on a date with this woman, but…Aubrey couldn’t help but wonder. There was something so incredibly gentle and sincere in his face—something so warm and wistful, almost pining in his dark eyes as he sighed with a certain love-struck helplessness that Aubrey honestly didn’t think she would ever see from him again. “Honestly,” he shyly admitted. “I…I think I’ve felt this way for a long time but…I just…wasn’t ready to see it.”
24. An excerpt of my writing that makes me go "huh...i wrote that?!"
In a good way or a bad way? 😅😂 If it's in a really good "I can't believe that I was capable of writing this" kind of way, then I think pretty much all of 2AM would fit in that category. I wrote that fic for a request, and it recounts how Hero, Kel, and Aubrey discovered and reacted to the aftermath of Sunny and Basil's fight on the night of One Day Left. It's another story that was completely out of my comfort zone because it was so heavy and dark (definitely not one I would have ever thought to write on my own), but I'm very proud of it so here's a snippet.
(Warnings for Injuries (Non-graphically depicted), Blood, Aftermath of Canon-Typical Violence (Non-graphically depicted). Fear. Emotional Hurt. Heavy and Dark Themes and Subject Matter. Heavy ANGST. MAJOR SPOILERS FOR OMORI)
“Hero, help Sunny!” He managed to catch Polly’s instructions amidst the chaos and dropped to his knees beside Sunny’s crumpled figure. With trembling fingers, he grabbed Sunny’s wrist—limp and clammy—desperately searching for a pulse. His chest ached as he found one—weak but still beating. Hero swallowed hard—watching the blood seep between his fingers as they held Sunny’s wrist. He searched for injuries. Where had Sunny been cut? His hands and arms seemed clear of wounds, so he must have used to them to try to stop the bleeding wherever he had been… Hero stopped abruptly. He finally saw it.  That gash across Sunny’s right eye. Frantically, he wracked his brain for his emergency first aid training. It was empty—useless in an actual crisis. His instructor’s words were garbled in his memories, almost as if she had been speaking underwater. Triage. Assess. Predict. Respond. And… Hero’s head whirled. He couldn’t remember and was too distracted by the sound of something clattering to the floor. Basil had finally dropped the weapon in his hands. He fell to his knees—caught by Polly and Kel. A pair of bloodied pruning sheers skid along the floor leaving streaks of red on the wood grain. Basil screamed again, but Hero’s vision blurred—blinded by the sudden burst of overhead light as Aubrey returned and flipped the switch. but she stopped, frozen in the doorway as she caught sight of Sunny on the ground. Hero blinked rapidly, but as his vision came into focus, bile burned the back of his throat. That slash across Sunny’s eye—deep and bloody in the light. Hero’s head ached. Jumbled memories playing in rapid succession. A diagram in an Anatomy and Physiology textbook. His professor holding up a model of the eye. The distant, garbled words: corneal laceration… Most serious of all eye injuries… High Risk…Permanent loss of vision… Hero’s stomach churned. As a streak of red trickled across Sunny’s cheek, he leaned forward with trembling hands, frantically searching for something to use as a compress to stop the bleeding. But he stopped himself. Hearing the warning as clear as day: Never, ever put pressure on a cut to the eye.
If it's in a "Why the hell did I write this?" kind of way literally anything from Safety Net (No, I'm not linking it. I didn't even put it on Tumblr because I have nothing to say for myself...) If it's more in a "I can't believe I wrote this, but I think it's okay(?)" kind of way, there is this incredibly mushy excerpt from my HeroMari fic "More Than Words":
Mari was his best friend, but even that title wasn’t enough for everything she meant to him. She was someone he could always rely on—someone he could talk to for hours until he completely lost track of the time. Someone he could share anything with—who he wanted to share everything with. She knew him better than anyone else—knew he wasn’t as perfect as everyone seemed to think and knew how hard he tried to be, but she still believed in him—saw something in him that he couldn’t even see in himself. She was the kindest person he had ever known and so beautiful that his soul ached whenever he looked at her. He cared for her more than he had the words in his young and inexperienced fifteen-year-old mind to express or really to even fully understand. All he knew was that he had never been happier than when she smiled at him—so bright and warm that he would have sworn the sun shined brighter. He couldn’t imagine a world without her in it, and he would give her the world in an instant if he could—would give anything to make her happy, to protect her, to care for her, and to in some small way repay her for being part of his life. But all she ever asked for was his friendship which he readily offered with as much loyalty and devotion as he could manage. Somehow even after all this time, she had never asked for his heart. Hero sometimes wondered if it was because they were still so young and she knew she had all the time in the world to ask for it. Perhaps she was waiting for the day he would be older and wouldn’t get so sheepish or tongue-tied whenever he tried to express his feelings. If Hero was being honest, he was looking forward to that day too…but he supposed it was more likely that Mari had never asked him for his heart because she knew she didn’t need to ask. It had always belonged to her. He knew Mari knew that. She had to know that. What he couldn’t say in words he practically screamed with offers to help with her chores or errands, with late night study sessions for the exams she stressed over or with hours spent cooking her favorite foods for her and carefully packing them into a basket for a picnic that, Hero was sorry to say, had just gotten rained out.
That was a lot of ramblings... Sorry about that. Thanks again for the ask. I hope you'll enjoy these snippets! Cheers! 💕

Phew. Now that is a weight off my shoulder. I hope you somewhat enjoy the first part of the story I made when you get around to reading it. I will apologize in advance for two things though, first off, it taking so long, and secondly, for it not being super good. This was kinda my first step back into writing, so I kinda used it as a basis to get back in the groove. So I once again apologize if it didn’t live up to your expectations. I also kinda just used the first part to lay the stage for our main character (my dear sweet Mizuki) and all that. I’ll be trying to add more pizazz to the actual writing itself, it’s boring just having to read block upon block of texts so I’ll try to spice it up. I’ll also attempt to improve on dialogue too and all that
However I will promise that it’ll get much more story driven and just better overall when I get around to the second part. And speaking of that too I just wanna lay a small basis on the planning for it. I’ll mainly just be writing the main parts through my own posts and all that whenever really, but I’ll also be doing small little short stories too that I’ll send through your ask inbox every now and then lmao. And I think that’s about all I have to say. I have 6 more main parts I’m gonna pump out whenever so I hope you’ll continue reading what I have to offer. I get a small impression I’m cooking up something nice here.

(I wrote all of this in a blind panic by the way, sorry if it wasn’t coherent.)
Oh dont worry I thought it was great, and very hyped to see what you'll produce hehe

Alright, this will be a long one. And for some people it's likely to be seen as a somewhat controversial take.
Here's a disclaimer:
Some things (or specific words) are very risky to say and may lead to various consequences. Considering my position right now, I don't want to risk any more than I have. I am a coward, but I already have problems because of my world view, and I have people depending on me. So I won't use some words or talk about certain things -- partly to avoid it being indexed by search engines and traffic filters.
My personal blogs aren't intended to be a subject of mass attention. I'm not against anybody sharing my point further, but it might bring some unwanted attention to my words.
This text might be somewhat chaotic, or it might feel emotionless. It took me a while to get all my thoughts in one place, but to be completely honest, it's hard for me to talk about what's happening, without getting very upset about it. So it takes a lot of effort to make some kind of coherent text out of it all.
Hope for your understanding. Now, let's get to the point.
I already wrote a lot of my thoughts on the situation in the nearby country. And nothing changed since then, really. Everybody is more depressed, savage and angry, but aside from that nothing changed. So if you want to know how I feel about it — check this page. https://spectral.gg/ukraine_2022
There are some things I wanted to point out however. One major point here being the support for special operation.
While many people say "we know the difference between the nation and the government", for many the line is not as clear. And as a result some people get to this "Russian = Fascist" or "Russians are warmongers" conclusion. I am against the special operation. Or any violence for that matter. And I'm not in the minority, not in the slightest.
One thing that's commonly brought up online is "70-80% of Russians support the special operation". I wrote that it's not true back in my statement (link above). Since then there were many more debunks of this number. NFKRZ had a great explanation in English: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uQCNjIHeqU This link is also useful (even though it's outdated): https://www.dorussianswantwar.com/en
There were also many sources, researches and explanations of this topic in the Russian segment of the internet. Basically:
70-80% support is ВЦИОМ's numbers. It's research center owned by state. It's propaganda. They do it to create this illusion of mass support.
Independent researches show a different picture, because they show more data to begin with. While some still show 70% support, there are also a very high deny rate (80-95%), meaning many people refuse to answer, likely out of fear.
And if you are going to look at dynamics, deny rate and changes in %s when asked different questions, you basically get something like this: 45-55% are against special operation in any form, 25-30% have not yet decided, 30-15% support it.
30% is still a lot, but it's not even nearly a majority.
And there are four things going on.
1st: People are afraid. It's very easy to get punished for ANY WRONG WORD: starting with losing your job, kicked out from university, ending with 15 years in prison. Anybody who is not afraid to speak up is already seen as a hero. Many people just hide their real sentiment.
2nd: This 70% propaganda. Anti-special operation people think they are in the minority. And they either try to adapt or leave. Or accept this new reality.
3rd: Propaganda machine works hard. People don't know what's happening during the special operation, many don't even know it's happening (as weird as it might sound). And it's very hard to show the reality. And when people get to the information on what's happening, they are afraid, They don't want to believe it's real. They don't support it, but try to convince themselves it's all a lie.
4th: This 70% propaganda + sanctions + hostile actions against Russians (which are exaggerated by the state propaganda) make people more depressed. They think that there is no way to go, that the collective world won't accept us anyway. They accept this and start supporting the special operation as they think that it's better to at least live here than lose anything without a way out.
And these points are very important. Recently I saw a point from a certain EEU Dota personality, criticizing Navalny's point about ads. N said, it's more efficient to NOT disable ads on YouTube (for example) and instead of spending more on weapons, it's better to spend the money on ads in the Russian region — anti-special operation ads, to be exact. The dota person said "This shows that our hate for Russians is not enough".
Both of the points are kind of taken to the extreme, but I tend to agree more with Navalny on this. As more people know about what's happening, what's REALLY happening in the world, they will be ready to speak up. Isolation and hostility only make things worse. I understand why it happens, but I still think it's counter productive.
I believe it's pointless to add the flag and the hashtag to my Twitter bio and nickname. Yes, it would show my support publicly, yada yada yada, but in many cases these "signs" don't mean jack shit. I would rather spread important information and donate, this is more important and helpful.
And I would also like to point out a very important thing: limiting access to services, information and technologies is practically helping P_t_n in this special operation.
I already explained the information part. And the tech part can be seen here: https://toxic-repos.ru/
Some cases are to be expected: a payment system that stopped working, an american company that can't offer services. What's not (and it's compromising both OpenSource and teams aimed to help with spreading the truth or collecting data on the special operation) is putting malicious code or removing it, or blocking access to open technologies by IP.
One situation that shows exactly why it's dumb: a group that was collecting information on special operationcrimes lost all the data they've collected. Because of this kind of malicious code put in the repository. Just because the server had Belarussian IP address.
The intentions might be good, sure. But the result only benefits P_t_n. Nothing more.
I also read (and got something like that sent to me directly) things like "Russians who don't support special operation are still liars, they are just doing it because they are afraid for their money and wealth, they are all hipocrites, they want to evade their responsibility".
And let me just tell you: this is some bullshit.
From the regime's perspective, showing your support for the subject of special operation is more risky than not supporting it. You might lose way more by doing that. That's the first thing.
Second is about my personal opinion. I was a pacifist my whole life. I was against any kind of special operation before, I am now. As you might have guessed, most people I've met (online or in different cities, while travelling through Russia and Ukraine) were the same. My generation (as well as two previous generations) are terrified of special operation. Well, the majority of people anyway. The main reason why the P_t_n came to power is he offered stability and promised to stop all the conflicts. So you might imagine how the majority of people feels about all this mess.
Third. The Collective Responsibility.
I don't believe in the collective guilt, this is just a dumb idea. And I don't believe that collective responsibility in a sense that "all Russians should go to labor camps because of the special operation", as some people said. That's just stupid, too.
But I believe in the idea of collective responsibility in a sense that we all, as a nation and as a government, have to pay for what happened. At least a some sort of compensation, to rebuild the destroyed cities and to maybe restore the connections lost. Sadly, it will never be the same.
Since the special operation started some of my friends were forced to move to another country. Some lost their homes. Some were missing for weeks, some still are. I can't contact some of my relatives anymore.
For me personally things changed much less, since I am not dependent on the government or CIS/EEU segment as much. And I also took measures to get ready to the biggest economical consequences. For me it also means that everything I was trying to create — for EEU dota, for the community and for myself — will lose all its meaning. Well, it's already happening. Just a couple of months before I was hoping for a bright future ahead, with possibilities to work with other international talents on other events. Now, if I'm being honest, I doubt that will ever happen now. I still hope, but I don't believe something good is going to happen. But that's just how it is, I guess.

this is only somewhat related i guess but i had a similar revelation about writing something original a while ago. i wrote some fanfiction online and i got really attached to the story, and at some point i realized the plot is far removed enough from the og source material that i could literally just change character names and make small tweaks and it could be just a regular book. currently working on editing/getting it published atm and it’s going well so!! :]
(also, while i agree that fanfic is not inherently made for serious critique/meaning and it shouldn’t be treated as such, i view writing fic almost the same as regular writing, just in a different context and working off another piece of media, and i’ve read a lot of fics that at leasts i consider to be genuinely good and well crafted. some of the most talented writers i know personally started out writing fanfic or *still* write it, so i don’t know if treating the entire concept of fanfic like it can’t be art at all is fair. but of course that’s just personal opinion!! i don’t think it matters much lmao but i just respectfully disagree w that part)
I hope that goes well! i know a lot of people dont like it when fanfics get published and i agree on most levels but ive read at least one (as a kid, so maybe im just remembering it as better than it was, but whatevr) where i was like the only thing about this that is somewhat similar to the source material is the character dynamics and obviously the names, like what are you doing just make it completely your own.. ok heres the thing. published r*ylo (or any star wars fanfic lol) is like garbage and trash and already overdone. but i would read, like, a published sasunaru fanfic. havent even seen/read naruto but i would read it. its just the literal nerve of publishing straight fanfiction. (the finnpoe one that people made fun of a few months ago also looked bad but everything star wars is kind of straight to me, and also bad) sorry if what you're writing is straight and especially if it's star wars but if it is do keep these words in mind.
anyways. i think it can be a useful tool in practicing writing (although there are some bad habits that are very prevalent in fanfiction) Also btw sorry the edible just hit so this migjt be less coherent. And ive read some that i enjoyed, some that were well written, etc, but its just. theres something to me that is just kind of . Self centered? and i say this as someone who has read fanfic recently like the vibes i get from the authors and myself as a reader. it's just like... Things You Like. its Stuff You Enjoy. its kind of like . its so self indulgent. (even if its like well it can be used to explore mature themes etc etc Listen on some level You Like It and its not because of its social commentary! or whatever.) Maybe i spoke too quickly on saying its "not art" but i. Well. Hm. i cannot vocalize this right now im sorry. Anyways. if u want to continue this conversation do not be afraid to dm me, these posts are just getting long and probably annoying and the edible did hit right in the middle so i didnt give it all of my best work. im like super high right now sorry bye
