if you’re more in the mood for a wonder duo wedding, you should check out always where i need to be by supercrunch. this absolute masterpiece features fem!katsuki and idiot!deku. idk what else you could possibly want to know before reading.

thank you! i agree although i think beyond 'badass' i just want female characters that feel like complete characters not just 'woman #2' yk. if i have to forcibly claim anime guys for that then so be it.

i kind of already touched on femtdbk's vibes with their female classmates here, but let's see... i think as per canon she's held in very high esteem by everyone while only being marginally aware of this. everyone has a bit of a complex abt how good she is at everything; it's like 50/50 stressful and aspirational. meanwhile per usual she's just like 'no you guys are also good. chill'. i also think if you ask any 1A girl their 'girl crush' at any given point they will say todoroki. she has bishōnen swag.

i think vs canon the girls are probably a bit more openly interested in her bc they feel like they have a bit more of an 'in' with her. uraraka has more of a side crush on todo as a girl somehow. ashido definitely finds it Really Hard not to try and give her a makeover into something cooler than slacks and sweaters. possibly yaoyorozu's confidence arc would hit harder if she had a girl peer who seems impervious to the creeping teen girl self-doubt and that's who gives her the whole inspirational spiel the first time. but in general todoroki behaves exactly the same with all of them regardless of gender bc she's a consistent queen.

The tdbk chemistry in this chapter was off the charts even though they barely interacted in the first half! Katsuki being so taken aback at being called by her proper title, and that drop of blood at the end. Shouto always never thinking much of Katsuki but still always looking for her in the crowd, and having flashbacks of their ballroom dance while watching her dodge a freaking sword.

For a minute their I thought Bakugou was going to replace Kirishima but bringing in Inasa was very good for the story flow. The Shouto and Eri parallels are making me cry

yeah i like giving other relevant characters screentime in my ship fics in general. like that’s how real life is right the whole world isn’t just you and whoever you’re seeing. and remedial squad is really fun as a concept. so it’s always nice when the plot lends itself to it. but bakugou was definitely readying herself to tap in when inasa beat her to it!

the shouto eri thing crept up on me unplanned but as soon as i started writing the lothian segment i kept coming up against it & just ran with it. kind of the beauty of aus i think! shifting genders and settings a little really made me notice the obvious parallels between eri’s situation and the todoroki kids’. but poor eri is always so disenfranchised in contrast to shouto- i think shouto has that faraway sense of ‘this could have been me’, sure, but more consciously ‘is this what it started like for my mother’.
