Facebook comments are so much more conservative than anywhere else that it almost seems like a parody.
I can understand some people there saying the new Dunes cant compare to the brilliance of Dune 1984 🙄; I can even sort of understand them mocking Timmy's press tour outfits for being different (sometimes saying very uncool things about gender+clothing) 😒 but i just saw a whole new level of closed mindedness in a comment about how Florence Pugh could look like a sweet girl if she didnt have a nose piercing. Like, what the actual fuck! Piercings were rebellious and punk 50 years ago. Who's raising their eyebrows at tattoos and piercings on an artist in 2024?

#ManuscriptMonday this week comes from the book we have been referring to as the Blue Dragon Breviary. The manuscript was created in the middle of the fifteenth century in Italy, but the marginal decoration shown above was added much later. Find out more and page through the rest of the manuscript in our Digital Library.
Breviary for Roman use (Blue Dragon Breviary).
