i just want a star wars loving loser boyfriend. is that so much to ask? i long for a sci-fi/fantasy obsessed dork that when they fall in love with a specific book series/movie/tv series or whatever, they consume every single piece of media released about said books/movie/series.
i want to watch 45 minute videos about the dragons from GOT and learn about the targaryen dragons family tree, if they had riders and who they were if they had with someone.
i want to someone to sit and listen to me go on and on and on about padme amidala for hours on end because she's my mf girl. i want them to listen and appreciate the queen of naboo with me because it's what she fucking deserves, thank you.
also, where are my wheel of time himbos at?? please this is so embarrassing!! i need to talk about al'lan mandragoran to someone!!! i need a man to tell me they'd be my warder if i was an aes sedai, and then tell me what ajah they think i would be in based off my personality.

Someday somehow I will understand how people hate a character as much as they hate Dream/Morpheus (The Sandman) and Rey (Star Wars), spend a considerable time detailing all their flaws including the ones they made up in their minds and actively ignore the qualities that make them likeable for other people, AND YET spend the rest of their time shipping them with their blorbos, but today's not the day.

i'm going to tell you the story of how purple became my favourite colour. and then, where the name vylet pony came from.

ch.1 the mace windu incident
once upon a time. I really liked star wars. i kind of still like star wars i guess. but when i was a kid, i REALLY liked star wars.
in my room, i had a mace windu poster.
i still can't find the exact poster. it looked something like this
mace windu was my fav star wars character for an inconceivably long time. with that, i also became fascinated with his purple lightsaber. nobody else had a purple lightsaber. i loved it. staring at that poster constantly made me really like the colour purple. ever since the poster started exerting its technicolour pressures and whimsies upon me, i became fixated on the colour purple. forever.

ch. 2 the viny scratch era
fast forward like 7 years. i am in the my little pony fandom now. i am 13 years old. i really like vinyl scratch. she is pictured here:
my first online presence in the mlp community was as a vinyl scratch / dj pon3 roleplay account. for a good year, people called me vinyl and "vy".
however when it came time to start releasing music in the fandom, i couldn't go by vinyl scratch at the time. this name was already being used by the artist who currently goes by Scraton!
this is still one of my favourite songs by them:

anyway. i actually held a really insane, irrational grudge against scraton for being named "vinyl scratch" as a music artist before me. i got past that after a while, because i had to stop being 13 first. i stopped being 13 and eventually fell in love with their music and we became friends later after!
but it's 2013 and i can't be vinyl scratch anymore. people already called me "vy" because of being a vinyl scratch persona.

ch. 3 it's vylet time-wait is that can opener? CANNI?
it started on december 28, 2012. i posted to my then-instagram account this image:
you may recognize this as my oc canni. here's their reworked look in the 2022 album (10 years later) can opener's notebook: fish whisperer (illustrated by @astroeden):
can opener's original name was "ultra vylet". their colour scheme was originally intended to be the inverse of vinyl scratch's, as a sort of strange protest to not being able to be vinyl scratch. i was like ok. well if i cant be vinyl scratch, i am going to make a character that swaps the main colours. within a few months of "ultra vylet" existing, i discarded the design in favour of a completely different one:
this would be the only time vylet consistently had purple in her design until 2018 or so.. lol.
then. on april 15, 2013, i posted this to my instagram:
i had essentially combined three things:
The fact the people called me "vy'
The fact that my favourite colour is purple (violet)
The fact that I wanted to be vinyl scratch (dj pon3) before

ch. 4 vylet pony ≠ vinyl scratch
that is to say, i never really put a lot of thought into "vylet pony" as a name. i just made it when i was 14 and now i am going to be 25 soon. will i keep vylet pony as a name forever? not sure. do i take great pride in its insanely snarky origin? absolutely.
after i had decided firmly on "vylet pony" as a name — after dropping the "3" from it — i made a new instagram account. the very first thing i posted to it was this:

now that looks slightly vylet-like, design-wise, oc-wise. oh. but now she is grey and black? ok.
she stopped being purple from 2013-2018.
here is how her design progressed through the years:
the first one is by my then-partner sara. this is when vylet's cutiemark was still an upside down music note, reflected from "ultra vylet" / can opener's original design. i'll show how it became a puzzle piece next.

to this day, i still cannot find the fanart in question. but over instagram, someone asked to draw fanart of my pony. in doing so, they misconstrued the shape of the upside down music note as a puzzle piece, like this:
i've been looking forever for the original fanart/fanartist that made this mistake. because ever since that art, i just stuck with it anyway. i like puzzles and puzzle games. i'm also a puzzling and enigmatic person. and the puzzle piece can go into so many different things. all sorts of problem solving is like a puzzle. music fits neatly into that category in my opinion. so because of its intrigue and ability to mean so many different things, i just went with it. i never looked back.

Yandere superstar got me drooling. Just picturing him forcing darling in a director’s chair with a ridiculous feather boa
OMG, that was actually a plot point I was thinking of pursuing!! I wanted the yandere to ultimately decide that the reader should be the drictor and give her free range of the story, as another way of proving his devotion. Unltimatly I decided it gave off too much Neuvillaet x Furina vibes (my FAV ship BTW) and felt people might not like it.
But can you imagine the yandere prepping you to become the best director? Making you read and research all the greatest directors of the world and incorporate their artistic souls into yourself?? How he'd want you to micromanage each scene so you understand that sometimes he has no choice but to kiss his co-stars and flirt with them. Either to get into character or because the movie demands it!! I'm just imagining darling dressed to the 9s in glittery clothing and an over-the-top neon purple feather bae and one of those old hats with a feather in it XD
Have I ever told you guys my DREAM is to become a director or the lead writer for a movie? Like if I could write/direct something for Marvel, Star Wars/Transformers my life would be complete!!

Ok so I decided to do it here cuz I don't know will AO3 allow me to write essay hahahahah 😂😂😂
I don't even know how to start this. I've been reading fics for 13 years straight, like I don't remember the period of my life where I didn't read them cuz I always have some ship active and I'm crazy BL fan. Only a small number of them can make me crazy to the point I don't wanna sleep, eat, skipping my obligations, killing the pain and your sebaciel did everything. I haven't felt like this reading fic..,maybe ever? This is totally another level of me being fascinated by some writer.
I adore sebaciel, I'm in fandom since 2016 but the biggest problem I had with their fics is that - either people go too much OOC with them orr they rush up the things between them, going quickly with sex and feelings. It bothered me so much so I was crawling for good SC fics as crazy!!
After some break with SC, I came back to ao3 and saw your long fic. I started reading it but I dropped it after 3 chapters, I got bored cuz I thought you are gonna just re-type manga and do classic thing which another people do. Quickly, I got disappointed with another one and idk how but I decided to give your fic one more chance and dear lord......that was one of the best thing I have ever read. Maybe even the best.
Like, how smart are you? What's your IQ? Your manage to explain me some things about Kuro plot which I haven't udnerstand by myself. And the way you write Sebaciel relationship. That's everything I have ever wanted. Everything. They have normal conversation and that's it, that's all I need cuz there is everything. I feel electric every time when they talk, fight, do things together, goood the little touches svbjhsdjvbvbvbvbvbsdjvhbdf. I was tense whole fic. I read it for like 10 days, abandon everything until I finished it and now I feel sad ahahhaahha. But you are really something special, cuz I always used to say that manga itself is the best fiction cuz Yana knows the best how to create good Sebaciel energy. You, next to Yana, did the best job. You kept them as they are, never broke the character, and that's what I am most grateful.
Slow burn, with drama and angst, love and attention, all misunderstanding, you put all necessary spices for 5 star meal. My fav part is when Ciel told Sebastian to add slamming doors to his most dramatic moments of his life ahahahahahahhaha 😂😂 I laughed like crazy, they are so precious♥ And I really wanted kiss to happen when Ciel lied Sebastian about another demon, that was sooo svbjhsvjhjhvbdf. But okay, you know the best, I trust you fully with this♥
The fact that they are ready to kill each other before they have normal conversation about their feeling is my fetish. I am in love with toxic things. Ciel ready to throw all game just to prove Sebastian that his value is not only his soul, right after he told himself for 1000 times he needs to stay on distance..... I LOVE ITTTT!!! I also need to say that you find PERFECT balance for good plot and romance. Your games and their cases...I just don't know, deep bow for you queen🔥💯After all, you didn't retype drama ahahaha but you manage to keep it canon without changing anything but still adding your spices so it's not ordinary Kuro plot we see every day....
I just have one question. From time to time, I was like a Bard ahahhaha, so sick of their games and my head hurting me, but on a good way. I am clear about Ciel but what about Sebastian and his disgust for Ciel's nicer, soft, emotional side? I know Ciel doesn't have it a lot, but would Sebastian still be grossed out about it as he was at the beginning of a contract or not? Keeping in mind that he is more and more obsessed with a boy?
So, that's all. I don't know how to use Patreon/PayPal, but for you I'll try cuz I only have credit card and that's all I know ahhahaha, I like to keep money in my hands😂 I'm sad about the situation in your country and all under - war countries. Hi! Ooh, thank you so much for your amazing, wonderful essay! I can't tell you how happy it made me! I think the electricity was already started being cut off when I got it, so I could see I have some really lengthy ask, but it wouldn't load. It was the torture of the most delicious kind :D
Like you, I've been reading fics for ages now, and the moments where I find some fantastic story that won't let me sleep or work or even blink are always the happiest and the brightest spots I remember. So it's extremely flattering to know that my story has become something similar to other people.
I love writing about smart characters, but most of them are definitely smarter than me! The benefit is that since I'm writing, I can think and plan everything in advance. In real life, I only wish I were as quick-witted and inventive. Alas, the best ideas and arguments come to me when they are no longer needed.
I love slow burns, and I love characters who abhor the idea of expressing their feelings, so Ciel and Sebastian have the most perfect dynamic in my eyes. I feel like I could spend the eternity just enjoying their Gothic world with their games, arguments, plots, and so on. Them antagonizing each other only to instantly team up against the common enemy is my most favorite thing in the world.
As for your question, right now, Sebastian would be thrilled if Ciel were to show a softer and more vulnerable side - at least in relation to him. Well, a part of him would feel the automatic need to mock him for it anyway, some habits don't die easily, but Sebastian's feelings have evolved a lot, plus Ciel is cold more often than he is not. So Sebastian treasures every word of praise, every hint of appreciation and need because they are so rare - he's come to crave them, and he has memorized all known cases of them by heart.

🔥 + your least fav character in all media ever and why?
I’m sure I could find a character I despise more, but I’d be lying if I said Kylo Ren from the new Star Wars trilogy wasn’t the first that came to mind.
Now granted, I feel the hatred for this character has more to do with how certain sections of the fandom perceive him rather than what’s written on paper.
I wanted to like this guy. His introduction as some loser Darth Vader wanna be felt like a great launching off point to explore how these Neo-Nazi types are really just whiny crybabies who like to play dress up to make themselves feel powerful. And given the climate it was written in, it could have been really topical and interesting how we see this guy spiral and get worse. But, we didn’t get that.
Instead, we had a non-character with no discernible goals or values make sad faces for two movies before getting an unearned redemption arc just because a hack writer and enough fan girls online thought the actor was hot.
I really try ship and let ship. It’s your fun and you’re not hurting anybody. HOWEVER, certain members of the Reylo part of the fandom undeniably hurt real life people and made the franchise objectively worse.
And it all comes back, to this asshole.
I will make a two hour video essay dissecting this whole mess at some point, I swear to God.

To celebrate 200 followers, I wanted to do something fun <33 For the next couple of weeks, I’ll be doing a little music / lyric based event!! This is the first time I’ve ever done something like this, so please, bear with me. That said, I’m incredibly excited to test this out, and if all goes well, I’m open do doing more events in the future!
My regular rules still apply, so keep that in mind and give them a little read. You can find them here!
- As a reminder, I tend to stick to gender neutral and male readers, but I’m willing to write female reader if requested specifically. However, I do reserve the right to default to gender neutral reader if I can’t find a way to organically incorporate gender into the fic :3

From one to five stars, how would you rate your writing? (No downplaying yourself!)
3.5 bc I read an old fic the other day and I’ve improved soooooo much but there’s always room for improvement!
2. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works? I feel like I’m really good at requests.
Sometimes I think it’s hard to imagine what someone is asking for, but as a daydreamer I feel like I can visualize it so well.
3. Are there any writers that inspire you?
Famous authors include Toni Morrison, Stephen King (minus the cocaine💀), and Neil Gaiman. In the server, literally everyone inspires me all the time and is so so supportive. Some mutuals that I so aspire to write like are @moonlightprose, @fushic0re, @darkficsyouneveraskfor, @fluffyprettykitty
4. What’s the fic you’re most proud of?
I would have to say first time (a carmen berzatto x reader) or broken hearts (eddie munson x reader). I think I really capture Carmen and Eddie’s characterization, especially how they would act in a relationship. Also, for sure my best angst.
5. Which character(s) do you find easiest to write and which do you find most difficult to write?
I’m a hyperfixation girly so the easiest are ones that I’m currently obsessed with (joel, miguel o’hara, etc.) and the most difficult are the ones that I still love but have fallen off the obsession wagon (Steve Rogers, geralt, din djarin, etc.)
6. Who or what do you find yourself writing about most?
Smut bc I’m a hoe ✨ also it’s been a year and joel miller wont leave my mind, so
7. Tell us about a WIP you’re excited about!
This has literally been on my WIP for over a year, but it has to be a notting hill AU with Sam wilson. I’ve been excited to write that for ages.

Marvel. I wrote a spider girl fic when I was in middle school lmao

It was a request but eddie munson x reader with a guitar head in the coochie and it was great.

I love poly fics! Love Stucky x reader and steddie x reader are my fav. they’re just so good.
13. Do you listen to anything while you write?
I usually have to listen to classical or lofi beats bc I’ll get distracted soooo easily.

15. Have you ever daydreamed about side adventures/spin-offs from your fic? Tell us about them!
As a certified day dreamer, absolutely. Any longer fic I’ve written, I literally day dream how it’s gonna play out. I did that a lot with ain’t no sunshine (joel miller x reader).
16. Is there anything you’ve wanted to write, but you’ve been too scared to try?
I am so bad at angst and I would love to write action/violent fics but I always feel like I can’t describe it for the life of me.
17. What’s the nicest comment you’ve ever received?
Someone commented that they turned my notifications on so that they could see when I posted the fic and that made me giggle and kick my feet.
18. Have you ever gone outside of your comfort zone for a fic? How did it turn out?
It’s currently a work in progress, but it’s a period smut fic. It’s not necessarily out of my comfort zone but more of I’ve never written a fic like that before. It’s for Miguel. I’m so ready 👀

21. If you could enter the universe of any one of your fics, which would it be and why?
I would die in literally every sci-fi or fantasy world that I love (star wars, game of thrones, lord of the rings, the last of us, attack on titan, etc.) so I’m gonna have to pick marvel. I’d have a fighting chance.
22. Is there anything you wish your audience knew about your writing or writing process?
tbh the hardest part for me is starting. Introductions tear me down every time rip. Sometimes, I just start in the middle because it’s so much easier.
23. Copy and paste an excerpt you’re particularly fond of.
You pause, just for a moment. You could feel the adrenaline kick into your system, and a numbing pain flushed out your senses. The blood felt warm and sticky—prompting the sleepiness to feel calming, and it urged you forward into its safe surroundings. But then you felt it. Panic. Panic rose in your neck as you looked around for someone. Your hand darted out to try and find them, but your mind was starting to become blank from the fuzzy warmth of pain. Joel. You needed Joel.
24. Ramble about any fic-related thing you want!
Ok listen, I wanna write so bad. The last fic I wrote was in March and I’m feeling that writing withdraw. My brain needs to get into hyperdrive so my fingers can type all day long. I have so many fics planned
