July, 11 (Evening) Devotion

“Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.”

Joel 1:3

In this simple way, by God’s grace, a living testimony for truth is always to be kept alive in the land—the beloved of the Lord are to hand down their witness for the gospel, and the covenant to their heirs, and these again to their next descendants. This is our first duty, we are to begin at the family hearth: he is a bad preacher who does not commence his ministry at home. The heathen are to be sought by all means, and the highways and hedges are to be searched, but home has a prior claim, and woe unto those who reverse the order of the Lord’s arrangements. To teach our children is a personal duty; we cannot delegate it to Sunday school teachers, or other friendly aids; these can assist us, but cannot deliver us from the sacred obligation; proxies and sponsors are wicked devices in this case: mothers and fathers must, like Abraham, command their households in the fear of God, and talk with their offspring concerning the wondrous works of the Most High. Parental teaching is a natural duty—who so fit to look to the child’s well-being as those who are the authors of his actual being? To neglect the instruction of our offspring is worse than brutish. Family religion is necessary for the nation, for the family itself, and for the church of God. By a thousand plots Popery is covertly advancing in our land, and one of the most effectual means for resisting its inroads is left almost neglected, namely, the instruction of children in the faith. Would that parents would awaken to a sense of the importance of this matter. It is a pleasant duty to talk of Jesus to our sons and daughters, and the more so because it has often proved to be an accepted work, for God has saved the children through the parents’ prayers and admonitions. May every house into which this volume shall come honour the Lord and receive his smile.

Our little girl needs a miracle and I beg any and every one of you to pray, pray, pray! Even if you don't know how to pray, please just ask God to heal Vianney’s brain. Now is the time for her miracle. We are devastated. Ever since we first found out about her diagnosis of left hemimegalencephaly, we have been praying and asking you all to pray that her right brain be spared. And you have shown up and helped us pray for this intention! All along the doctors have told us how strong and beautiful her right brain looked. However, this all changed sometime in the night between Friday and Saturday. At a time when we thought we were in the clear and were actually making plans to go home in a couple of weeks (!), something happened. The doctors can't explain it, they are looking into every avenue, as this was completely unexpected and unexplainable. She was awake. She was breathing on her own. She was moving. Shad was with her Friday night and video chatted me and I could not wait to see her the next day, finally alert! But suddenly very early that morning she took a turn and stopped responding. That's when her seizures started and they were indeed coming from the right side this time, due to whatever injury the right side sustained. They said her injury looks consistent with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy but none of her vitals ever changed and her labs have remained great. There is truly no explanation at this time. My heart is broken. I cry out to God to understand why, in this final moment, when we were so close to her recovery, did this happen? I am trusting in Him with all my might and KNOW in my heart and soul that He is loving her far greater than I, but oh man I am absolutely broken. She has lost 40-60% of function in her right brain. Even typing it out and reading it in this post is too cruel to bear. They don't expect that she is in dire life threatening circumstances yet but they also can't say that her brain won't be injured further - since we still don't have a cause. Even if she survives all of this and is able to come home, we don't yet know what kind of life our little, beautiful perfect girl will have with only 25% of her brain. At this point, the most basic expectation is that she will not be able to walk or talk along with many other difficulties. She is outside of what they can do (other than trying to prevent more damage) and is truly in God's hands now. I told our priest yesterday before we got the full news - perhaps God is giving us the most dire of circumstances to give us the most miraculous of recoveries. In a world that needs to witness a miracle more than ever, I am praying to God that He show us one now. Please, please, please, keep praying for our Vianney - that her brain is completely healed and she can defy all medical expectations. And if now is the time for a miracle, then we are asking you to also beg for the prayers of the Blessed Ulma family. Soon I will share more about this incredible family, but for now we are asking them to pray along with us for our little Vianney’s miracle!]

Lord, if it is in accordance with Your will, kindly grant the grace for the complete healing of little Vianney, for which we are asking You through their intercession and count them among the Blessed.

Werewolf boy being so *angry* about Harry being treated so poorly by his relatives (if they can be called that) and just trying to scent Harry as much as possible at the end of every year so no one will touch him.

And Harry just. Shattering because no one has ever laid such a heavy claim on him. Claimed him so throughly as theirs. And he can’t help but cry at how he could have had so much more.

It always breaks them a little bit to send Harry back. To have him snatched away from them by hands that hold too hard and leave bruises. All of them are more than a little clinging in the days leading up to the end of term and Harry hardly touches the ground once the last day comes with the werewolf boy all but carrying him to get just a little more of his scent on Harry before he is taken.

(He wants them dead. Wants to kill them. Wants to make them hurt like Harry hurts. But he can’t. for as much as it might help he would be locked in Azkaban or put down the minute he showed any aggression and Harry had already made it clear that he couldn’t lose any of them after the chamber incident.)

Harry practically in his lap as he scents him on the train, muffling sobs into his shoulder as they draw closer and closer to the place that will never be a home to him. The others try to hide their pain in the moments when Harry isn’t crying. Try not to make it worse. They see George step out of the compartment to punch a wall. They see Percy with blood around his nails from where he picked at the skin too much in his anxiety. They see Hermione wiping away tears of her own only to give Harry a bright smile and promise to write when he looks at her.

They see. Harry does not.

when you realize that miss Bellatrix Black Lestrange had the right to a trial while having the dark mark inked to her skin but Sirius Black didn't makes you realize how the ministry didn't care about justice after the first war at all.

Bellatrix was a known supporter of Voldemort, she wasn't quiet about her admiration for him, so they knew she was guilty and she still had the right to a trial.

Makes you think why, especially with Dumbledore present in the court room. Sirius was part of the order and still Dumbledore didn't seek answers as to why he had betrayed them. He was there to advocate for Snape, was present for known Death Eaters trials, but couldn't provide Sirius a fair trial, and all it would take was a little word to Fudge or Barty Crouch, after all it only took his word for Severus to be considered innocent.

It wasn't in his interest to seek the truth or even to help Sirius which is why he didn't, i don't believe he knew Sirius was innocent, but he didn't want justice, simply because it did not matter to him what the truth was, if Sirius was innocent it wouldn't help Dumbledore in his plans, if he was guilty it was indiferent to him, he simply didn't care because it wasn't important for his narrative.

Going back to Bellatrix and looking who she had the trial with, Rodolphus Lestrange, Rabastan Lestrange, and Barty Crouch Jr, were all pure-bloods from influencial families, makes you think if even after everything that had some weight on them getting a trial.

Sirius was a Black yes, one of the sacred 28, but he was disinherited and that was common knowledge. Even if Fudge used the excuse of being a Black to portray him as a murderer in the media, all of his family (from what we know and assume) got a trial, Sirius was the only Black who didn't get a trial and I can't help but think his disinheritance had something to do with it.

(Joanne is not smart enough to write this correctly, but the sacred 28 had a lot of political power, as we see the Malfoys exibit in the books)

So this rants leads nowhere but i have been thinking about it so tell me your thoughts on this

23 October 2022 || Little Missionaries

What a long, meaningful, and fun day today with NWC family. We left home around 4:30 AM and met with the other convoy nearby and all headed to Caldong, Sampaloc, Quezon.

I love the travel and all the life talks my husband and I had while the kids stayed asleep. I also enjoyed the interactions with NWC family through the hand-held radio and I loved the convoy.

We reached Caldong at 9:50 AM, but Team Thunders, and other parents with children stayed under a Kubo because we cannot help in the Medical Mission, so we just had fun learning together and collecting some flower specimens.

The activity ended at 4:30 AM and then went on a convoy again to dinner time at Kamayan, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

We left Pila, Laguna at 9:40 PM and reached home around 10:40 PM.

We are so blessed and happy to expose the kids in this kind of church activity. Praise God for this day! Praise God for our little missionaies. Praise God for all the people of Caldong who benefitted from the Medical Mission.

Almost one year ago, 14-year-old Stellayna Severight was found dead of a drug overdose in what the coroner's report describes as an "unkempt" apartment building "with drug paraphernalia found scattered in the living room area."

The teenager, who was in the care of the Ministry of Social Services at the time, was pronounced dead on May 30, 2022. She had methamphetamine, fentanyl and other drugs in her system, according to the coroner's report provided to the family. Stellayna was also suffering from pneumonia, which the coroner said likely contributed to her death.

On Thursday, Stellayna's mother Angela went to the Saskatchewan Legislature to beg Social Services Minister Gene Makowsky for transparency about why her daughter died while his ministry was acting as her legal parent. She also wanted to know what the government will do to make sure it never happens again.
