A Stammering Adrien AU Flashback
Chloé dangled by her ankle in the grip of Stoneheart, the akumatized persona of Ivan. From what she had gathered, he was like this because she made him angry, and now here she was, dangling 300 meters above the ground. No, not dangling. Falling!
“NO!”
Yes. Stoneheart had dropped Chloé, and now, she couldn’t even scream. She was far too terrified. The ground was getting closer, and closer, and closer. Time seemed to slow down, and Chloé’s life flashed before her eyes. A lifetime of misery and mistreatment, not towards her, but towards others by her, with only the few exceptions of her standing up for Adrien. At the end of that vision, for a split second, Chloé could make out the ghastly image of the Grim Reaper, waiting for her. This was it. This was the end. Before that could happen, however, just about 4 meters off the ground, the new superheroine, Ladybug, caught Chloé and brought her down safely, setting her down on her feet. Chloé was frozen, stiff as a board. She couldn’t move, nor could she speak. She simply stood there.
“Chloé? Are you okay?” Ladybug asked. “Chloé? Chloé? Chloé?”
“Chloé,” said Sabrina
“Huh?!” Chloé snapped back to reality. She was back in her room with Sabrina, Marc, and Marinette.
“You okay, honey?” Marc asked. “You zoned out for a bit.”
“Just a bad memory,” said Chloé. “Remember Stoneheart?”
“The akuma Ivan became that week before we had that dinner?” Sabrina asked.
Chloé’s head lowered a bit. “Yeah... I think that might have been the kick in the butt that I needed to rethink my life...”
As Chloé hugged her knees, her friends looked at her, then at each other, then back to her. Finally, Marinette said something.
“You want to talk about it?”
Chloé looked up at her former enemy and current friend, and with a deep breath, gave her answer.
“Yes.”

a horror movie about making a horror movie. wait, don't walk away. a horror movie about one of those grueling seventies productions that broke every OSHA rule—long, exhausting shoots in the middle of the woods, presided over by one of those directors convinced of his own genius and certain the only way to get the performances he needs is to relentlessly isolate and gaslight his female lead. the crew are terrified of the director's outbursts and so are going along with it. there's one other woman in the cast but she plays the one who takes her shirt off earlier in the film and then dies, and the director has done everything in his power to turn these two people against each other, the better to keep his female lead unbalanced and unsure, and when the deeply disquieting scary stuff starts happening for real, the female lead has nobody to confide in and assumes it is the director very characteristically going out of his way to fuck with her. one of the camera operators gets possessed and is being flung around the trees, head spinning as he oozes an acidic black liquid and the female lead is like, "i can't let fucking jerry think he's getting to me." and then—this may be too much, idk—the only way the two actresses can figure out what's really going on is to acknowledge that they've been pitted against each other and that they really don't have any reason beyond this not to trust each other, so they compare notes and that's how they discover that hey, this production actually is cursed.

Oh wow it's been *checks watch* since July of 2022 since the last page of Instinct. I think it's been long enough. We finally have finished what I consider the rescue arc. The next is the last arc and Instinct will official be done. Thank you guys for sticking with it, despite the many hiatuses it went through. :')

Some interesting similarities between the forms of Falling Devil and Darkness Devil.
There’s the use of multiple bodies to create a singular form, the angular shapes, the mantis-leg-like appendages, the sheer height.
These two also share very strong hand motifs, which makes sense for both of them: when it’s dark, you have to feel your way around, usually with your hands; when you’re falling, you try to grab onto something with your hands.
I’m curious to see if the other Primals look anything like these two.

My childhood spat back out the monster that you see
I made an attempt to visualize a very specific part of the imaginary "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark" AMV that exists only in my head. Believe me when I say that if I had a shred of video editing skills it would look a lot cooler than this.
Please like it it literally took me five hours /lh
(If they don't all load at the same time I recommend refreshing the page, it looks best when they're all in sync.)
