You guys probably met at the grocery store or something

You were struggling to reach something on one of the top shelves, jumping up and down to no avail

Chanyeol had just rounded the corner of the aisle you were in and smiled, thinking to himself how cute you were

Being the kind soul he was, he reached up behind you and grabbed it for you, then handed it to you with a warm smile

It was safe to say you were in love 😗

Chanyeol already has a habit of lowering himself to someone’s height when he hugs them, no matter how short they are, and you’re no exception

Poor man is gonna have back problems in the future but it’s fine 😭

He’s so huge that you can fall sleep entirely on top of him without even hurting him

Many a times have you come home to see him fast asleep on the sofa, and decided to just curl up on top of him like a cat and go to sleep 💞

So you and him have been friends for a long time

You have a lot in common

Enjoy having in-depth conversations on a variety of topics

You like to do the same things

And you are each other's excuse to get away from noisy and crowded places

And one day, you managed to escape from a club

How had you ended up there? Ask his extrovert friends

None of you wanted to go but it wasn't like you could say no

So when you accepted his ride, you could finally breathe a sigh of relief as you got into the silent car

Both of your heads ached from the loud music

And you were so sleepy that you leaned against the car window even as he was driving

"I thought you couldn't get away from Baekhyun" he chuckled

And you, of course, laughed along, looking at him

He was so focused and so handsome

"I didn't remember he talked so much, I thought you were going to leave me there" you said and his laugh increased

"Don't think it didn't cross my mind"

Your plan had been simple:

Do repairs, help carry out tasks, ensure things are running smoothly even if the task itself isn't the safest thing to do? Btw, hope all is doing well!

Mono thinks it's absolutely adorable - at first.

As with most things you do, they are greatly pleased with your interest to help. They enjoy doing anything with you, and for you to want to fix up the ship they see you accepting it as home. Would mean they'd have to turn on more cameras, but they would never complain in regards to your safety. Mono gives you little tasks such as cleaning the windows or monitoring the onboard garden, thinking it'll settle your desires.

How wrong they were.

[Negative, Y/n. There isn't anything left for you to do.]

Mono lifts their arm as you leap for their clipboard. Pointless - considering the height difference, but gets their idea across clearly.

"Yea, but there's still stuff to do, right? C'mon there has to be something I can do."

[Please do not make that face, Y/n. It is arguably rather cute, plus I can hardly protray my own emotions through expression means so it is unfair.]

The glass of Mono's visor fogs up, their chest gently rising in further indication of a sigh. They flip through the list.

[Continue repairs on my voicebox. Check for intruders. Making sure your doors lock properly at a set time. Permanently disabled the ship ai. Check the fuel.]

"What was that third one? Nevermind- I have to be able to do one of those things! Checking fuel sounds easy enough."

[The engine room is over three hundred degrees. Starlight, I admire your aid, but there are somethings you simply cannot do. For your safety, and my comfort in allowing you to walk freely. Please understand that for me.]

Mono lifts their hand under your chin.

Mono watches you walk away with your head low. As you step out of the room, they glance at the keypanel embedded into their arm. They sighs as they grab hole of it.

"Hello?"

"Yes, I'll be right over." You leave the device on your bed as you hurry over to the lab. Mono sits against the back wall of the room, arm propped up on the table. You gasp at the amalgamation of tangled wires protruding from their metal flesh. The keyboard they had installed had been ripped from the limb; exposing their inner hardware. EXO members’ reaction on having a shy girlfriend around their (the idol’s) parents during family dinner 🤗

i think, fundamentally, all of them would try to reassure you somehow, like in their own way.

minseok: he would keep his hand attached to yours under the table, caressing your knuckles to make you feel less nervous. he would also ask his parents to go easy on you, as he knows how shy you can be.

junmyeon: whenever his parents aren't looking, he would lean in and whisper how well you're doing, besides giving you a kiss or two on your cheek. when you have to talk to his parents, answering questions or just being polite, junmyeon has the biggest smile on his face.

yixing: he lets his parents know that you're shy beforehand, so they won't pressure you in any type of way. he rarely presents a girlfriend to his parents, so when he does they know it's because that person means a lot to yixing - and the last thing he wants is for his parents to go all "are you the future mother of our grandchildren?" on you.

baekhyun: he tries to comfort you through physical touch as well, either is by resting a hand on your thigh or just being really, really close to you. he speaks about his mom with such love, i really think she might be a great person who can tell when someone's getting shy, so you can also count on her to make you feel better.

jongdae: his smiles are the only thing you need to know you're doing fine. like junmyeon, he would take his time to tell you to not worry, that his parents are loving you - which they truly were. he would also laugh a little bit harder at your jokes, just to make you win extra points with his parents.

chanyeol: i mean, have you seen him? have you seen his sister and mom? there's no way that family is making you feel uncomfortable. in fact, if chanyeol lets them know in advance that you're shy, his mom might even suggest you meet yoora first, and then her and his dad. but through it all, chanyeol has an arm around your shoulders and fingers brushing your arm.

kyungsoo: he can be quite shy himself, so he would ask his parents to please, just play it cool. he doesn't touch you or whatever, but he does give you little smiles from time to time. he also doesn't let his parents try any trick on you, which means that if any of them asks you something that might make you uncomfortable, he's more than ready to just say "mom/dad, don't". he respects your boundaries.

jongin: he tells you a million times that there's no reason for you to be that shy around his mom and sisters. having their approval over you means a lot to jongin, so he does everything he can to make you comfortable and talkative towards his family - he might even ask his mom to tell you embarrassing stories from his childhood, so you'll laugh and maybe loosen yourself a little bit.

sehun: similar to jongin, but their parents will tell you embarrassing stories about him on their own. he makes sure you're okay every minute, silently asking you if you wanna go home. he loves you to the point that, if you regret marking that dinner with his parents, he'll just excuse the two of you and mark it again in the future.
